seeing the news: moonpaw is very cute.... dumb and inaccurate chimera thing tho but this is battle cats so lbr lol (plus i do like the dark side of the moon imagery idea so ill let it slide....even tho split face is just normal tortie markings)

also i hate to break it to yall but the series would need a total and complete rework and overhaul where the clans break apart and reform in order to escape the incest problem currently in the series just because of how much of firestars dna has injected itself everywhere >>;;

the authors clearly dont keep proper track of the family trees (they have a lot of cats to keep track of i get it) and i dont think it needs to constantly be this major talking point we all know it, its not ideal, but theres more interesting things to discuss about the character reveal for moonpaw imo

i take it all back yusuke's a little shit lmaoo. i am interested to see where his character goes because i feel like he's gotten increasingly cocky and self destructive after being revived. i got the sense that pre-canon, like, obv he was a delinquent but he was a really good kid at heart. he still IS a good kid but now that the scale has increased so much we really understand the kind of damage he can do, and it's a lot. he doesn't have the self-awareness to recognize that yet because his recklessness has only been rewarded (this includes what i was saying in a previous post about the universe giving him a bunch of extra chances after he kept randomly throwing his life away, but also now our perception of his fighting style and how willing he is to put everything on the line). he's a little boy on a power trip yknow?

i say all this as a tentative analysis and not a critique ofc, i really trust togashi as a writer + i know this show has a reputation for strong characters, and i think yusuke has already been portrayed as so uniquely human compared to other shounen protags (at least in its era). thinking about him basically having an anxiety attack after being challenged by toguro basically confirms it for me that his coolness is no less of a veneer than it was shown to be in the first few episodes.

(i am on ep33) (maaannn i know its only been like three days since i started the show but i'm so sick my brain can't do anything else so uou can't bully me.......!)

also, sidenote, from my heart of hearts i fucking love kurama, i am not immune to an edgy bitch who cant do anything but kill people with flowers and brood.

#its interesting because usually i don't find this archetype appealing unless they REALLY push the “but they're really a sweetheart!” agenda #or if they lean into the angry boy agenda instead i like that a lot if you couldn't tell asjhsdvj #the first option is which is why i liked kuwabara more to begin with #but unfortunately he is also kind of a victim of dated writing (ie he's joining the war on sexism.. on the side of sexism)#so we'll see... i'm already enjoying dark tournament way more than the last few arcs #i know this show is kinda too old for most of my followers to care but yall know i rarely get into newer stuff anyway sjhhjhgx #it is definitely not doing for me what hxh was doing for me at this point but i'm still having a good time and that's all i need!#sully is typing #yyh #yyh liveblogging

#toy txt post #while i was away i began my journey into coffee snobbery. im doing my best. i have a lot to learn #i have a fancy hand grinder that all the ppl on reddit hemmedvand hawed andaid it would probably be somewhat #Acceptable for pour over coffee that I got for less than $100. i want you to understand the coffee grinder ppl are insane.#there are grinders for sale that cost like more than my car did brand new. these ppl are insane? i got a chemex pour over #and a glass stovetop gooseneck kettle cos i couldnt find an electric kettle that didnt have the metal touching the water. prolly cos it #would make them less energy efficient and defeat the purpose but i dont fuck w metal water vessels cos historically They Keep Betraying Me #by making my drinks taste like ass. i got some genetic fuckery going on ig. like the cilantro soap gene but its the metal makes water taste #like ass gene? idk. but i wanted a kettle that didnt have metal and i wanted that gooseneck pour so i found one on Amazon. surprisingly #hard to find? annoying. mostly bc every search engine is bad and kept showing me metal kettles anyway. i got a grinder i got a pour over i #got a kettle i got fancy beans from a local small business i started drinking it black. im going to unlock these flavors. i will get it #but also. im still a goblin. i put garlic powder in with the grounds and made garlic coffee. its interesting. it tastes like garlic. and #coffee. but actually the garlic is mostly an aftertaste?#so it feels very similar to drinking a cup of black coffee to accompany your garlic bread actually. the first time i made it i think it #underextracted the coffee tho. second time i extracted the coffee enough but i didnt like it as much? both times. fascinatingly #i did not get strong aromas! which was weird: i find both garlic and coffee have pretty strong scents already #i wouldve thought combining them would make it stronger? it was a little stronger while brewing the second time but smelled good to me #i find the flavor of it compelling enough that id like to try to refine it a bit more and see if i can make it good #ive come a long way since my first garlic coffee haha #(adding garlic salt to black coffee out of a keurig. dont reccomend this: garlic salt has too much salt and it overpowers everything.#could not get a garlic flavor without overpowering salt flavors. so it mostly tasted like seawater with a hint of coffee. garlic powder is #the way to go. anyway next i want to try it with a lighter roast. i was using medium roast #of a local brand that i would name for exposure but wont name lest it doxxes me haha #also want to try egg coffee sometimes? the vietnamese one. looks..intriguing. robusta beans scare me a little tho #anyway. if youre interested in interesting flavors i recc garlic coffee. it was intriguing. if i find a methodology i think tastes best #ill update yall #im also interested in other things. i want to experiment with spicy coffee. chili powder or cayenne #make the paprika dracula coffee haha #im also admittedly intrigued by butter coffee? as a flavor profile tho not for fad diet reasons.

I just think it’s silly that so many people complain about Villain Amaya as “wasted potential” and that “we were robbed” like-

My pals, post canon fan fiction is right there. The desire to free her husband is right there. Either by touching an evil book while being too eager to remember the obsidian oil, or being possessed by contact (ie what she believes is true loves kiss) when trying to reason with him in the dungeon.

We don’t need a rewrite, we can have a continuation. Both can be true. Amaya is a complex character, she can handle it.

A lot of you on here feel waaay too comfortable admitting that you don't and refuse to listen to rap music, and I'm not loving the incredibly reductive takes on rap because the kendrick/drake beef has it on some of yall's radar for the first time in your life.

I'm not going to sugar coat it-- for americans especially, if you consider music a significant interest of yours but still feel the need to search for acceptable reasons to keep yourself ignorant of black music, or think of rap as a monolith of hate and violence and not equally as diverse as any other genre, or can only name nonblack rappers… you should be embarrassed of that. And your embarrassment should not keep you from being active about exposing yourself to unfamiliar art and broadening what you listen to.

'I don't understand what they're saying/they rap too quickly' I'm surprised by how much I keep seeing this-- speed is not a stylistic trademark of most rap music, & clearer diction as a performer is much more necessary in rap than other genres?? Statistically rap has a lower bpm (here's an example of one person's study) average than other genres. (of course these aren't all-encompassing, but you can look into this yourself using sites like bpmdatabase.com.) Do you really feel overwhelmed by speed listening to Kendrick or Biggie or Nas or 2Pac, or have you never actually listened to their songs?

'I have to look up the lyrics'-- so what? is it a bad thing to take an extra few seconds to engage with an artist's work? If you listen to lyrical music, do you care when it's the artists you listen to? Why does the thoughtful art consumption everyone talks about not also apply to black art?

'there is too much violence and misogyny and commercialism' this is not unique to rap, or true of all rap music. Artists exist that talk about other things, the way they exist in all genres. There is an entire wikipedia page listing alternative hip hop musicians and rappers if you consider seeking it out too much labor. Click one!

'i find it unrelatable'-- who cares? Being unable to engage with art you don't find wholly relatable is a deeply childish and self centered way to exist. You get on here reblogging feel good navel-gazey posts about the shared human experience and caring for one another, but a rapper talking about living with violence or poverty is stretching the limits of what you can imagine or empathize with too much for you to care about it? You don't find that embarrassing to admit to?

You don't have to love rap, you don't have to incorporate it into what you listen to every day, but a lot of you need to be aware you're parroting reagan era anti-rap (& antiblack) pearl-clutching talking points, and it's a very ugly look. It isn't racist if your favorite genre isn't rap, but you need to do some serious self reflection if you consider it inherently less artistic, intelligent or positive than 'whiter' genres when you don't actually listen to it. I am looking at you, people into other counterculture genres-- it's crazy how much I see this from self-professed punks and metalheads especially lmfao. If expression, counterculture art, anti-censorship in music and the right for raw and unfiltered music to exist matters to you as much as you say you do, you should care about rap's relationship to censorship & fight for its legitimacy just as much as what you listen to.
