I don't think people play with healing factors enough. Like yeah, enhanced healing is cool and healing quickly is convenient. But even if you heal fast you can still heal wrong.

Like heroes having to quickly leave fights so they can splint broken limbs before they heal incorrectly. Or situations where they couldn't and have issues because of it

Getting shrapnel stuck in your body because your skin knitted over it too fast

Or having chronic pain and limited motion in one arm from a broken arm that couldn't get the attention it needed soon enough

Just think of characters begging for the villian to let go so they can fix the potential issue.

Right? Or alternatively, the villian is the one begging. Like they know they're evil and shouldn't be forgiven but the thought of something bad happening that could horribly effect the rest of their life still scares them.

Also a good possible form of torture. Breaking, healing, breaking, healing incorrectly, breaking again, and the cycle just continues.

I was thinking today of how I joined Tumblr in December because every time I looked for fan theories about Good Omens Google or Reddit or Facebook would always repost or bring up Tumblr.

I made an account and did a lot of lurking and got super excited. Once I'd been here for a bit, I started liking and reblogging some things.

After a bit longer, I wrote my own first theory.

That first theory was a lot of other people's theories going into my brain, getting brain-blenderized and making my eyes cross while steam came out my ears.

I feel like I should be crediting people who inspired my own theories, but I really have no idea what blogs I read that first month to six weeks. I was (and still am) super new here, I'm still getting the hang of it. I think @drconstellation @meatballady and @vidavalor were a couple big ones, but heck if I can remember who else.

So like, just know: if you are writing cool Good Omens theories, I really appreciate you and your inspiration. I wouldn't have any of these ideas if you weirdos weren't out here doing your thing sharing your ideas.

I finally figured out a really cool way to do the prerendered cutout stuff that looks pretty authentic to me. I think the last thing I was missing was using the right denoising algorithm.

All my stuff is rendered in Blender's Cycles renderer. In the "Render Properties" tab under the "sampling" header, I turn denoise on and use the "OpenImageDenoise" setting. It gives it that blurry-with-sharp-edges look that I really dig. It's like an ink drawing that got wet.

PRISMATIC so cool. watching the first final shape trailer they put out after lightfall was kind of insulting? the fact they only had 3 New Light supers felt so bad for what was supposed to be the final battle? esp when the hunter super was just Big Arc Knifes? not to mention seeing them gradually nerf ability regen in game like cmon.

but prismatic is so cool I like that we can finally put in game whatever triple light/dark combos we've been headcanoning for our guardians all these years. (assuming they put all the abilities in the prismatic blender cmonnnnn who cares about balance cmonnnnnnn lets have fun bungie)

I think the new witness enemies are a good touch. still do not care at all about the witness tho lol. LAMB STEW & BUTTERNUT SOUP RECIPES. GIVE

THE LAMB STEW RECIPE IS MINE. MINE ALL MINE

BUt I will actually teach you the butternut soup one, people don't realize how cheap butternuts are and how easy this recipe is. I had to teach my partner's family how to properly prepare butternut and they thanked me for it because it's ALWAYS on sale and SUPER easy to make.

You need a metal baking tray, a crockpot, and a blender. The blender is optional, but it makes the perfect creamy consistency

Other ingredients you're gonna need; Garlic, shallots, pepper, turmeric, curry and chicken stock

(though I remembered the recipe wrong when I was over there and used beef stock, fam still loved it though, soooo pick whatever stock you like best tbh. This is a super forgiving recipe, I promise if you're a beginner cook this is a great place to start)

ALSO FAIR WARNING: Idk how to measure anything. I do not actually have a written recipe.

Step 1: Cut the Nut

Cut it longways, like a canoe, and scoop the seeds out. Coat the fleshy-side with cooking oil and sprinkle some pepper on it if you like-- nothing needs to be done to the skin-side. Place it FLESH-DOWN on the baking tray and pop it in the oven, 425 degrees Fahrenheit, 40 - 50 mins

When it's done it looks like this (half-eaten babybel snack optional. bbq sauce not used, it was just there for emotional support)

You can actually eat it just like this.

Like if you're not looking to make soup, this compote can actually be made into all sorts of things. You can stick a spoon right in that and eat it. I've made like... fried butternut latke-things out of it, I have some compote in my freezer just for experimenting with.

If you're smart, you wait for it to cool down before you scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Im not 💗

Step 2: trust your heart to tell you how many fucking onions are in there

My partner is the one who's able to measure things, I simply put my faith in the claws of Velociraptor Jesus tell me what the ratio of garlic to butternut is. I am not allowed near baked goods. I do not cook by the book. I put too many ashes in my middle school volcano project and smoked out an entire classroom once.

This came out great though, and for it I used 2 white onions (about a cup), 4 cloves garlic, and some chopped shallots. All minced as much as possible.

Once that was all in I (think you're gonna see a theme here) kinda just eyeballed how much stock and spice was gonna go in, just doing taste tests until it was yummy... I think it was 2 cups stock water and 3-ish tablespoons of turmeric and curry? Next time I make it'll actually measure how much I use.

I really do just kinda taste-test things until it's good.

I would apologize that I don't have the family recipe actually written down for exact amounts but I don't think I will ✨Bless this mess ✨✨✨✨Welcome to living inside of my head✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Anyway through some magic later you get a mash that looks like this, I stirred it up real good.

Step 3: This is where the blender comes in

This is the most tedious part tbh, but it's worth it because you can't get it super creamy if you don't feed it through a blender.

At this point me and my partner grabbed the pot and poured it in because we had 4 hands between us and felt lazy, but if you're alone you should scoop it manually so you don't spill shit everywhere

And once you have that, portion out what you'd like, and add milk. When you first get the soup out of the blender, it's real thick. You add milk to get it to the consistency you want-- DO NOT ADD MILK TO THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE

IF YOU ADD MILK TO THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE, IT GOES BAD FASTER

This stuff can be frozen or fridged and it tastes just as good as it was when fresh, as long as you only add fresh milk when you're ready to eat it.

I usually eat it with a grilled cheese or some other kinda bread. And that's really it.

Hello, friends! Please join me for another episode of “cool tricks in Blender make awesome dice,” featuring excessive amounts of both sparkle and math!

As previously mentioned, my particular dicemaking niche is Stuff In Dice because I have a very fancy printer and absolutely no restraint, and some time back I was looking at gemstone dice and I thought “you know, geodes would be SUPER COOL.” And because no restraint, I immediately set about figuring out how exactly to do that.

The first step was my trusty Blender, where I used a geometric plugin to procedurally generate a field of fractal quartz crystals with a random number seed, which looked a little like this:

Then I imported my blank masters, which are my dice except without numbers and 1mm smaller, and used a boolean intersect on that fractal quartz field to create this:

Dice on the bottom, crystals on top!

Sending these things to the printer is always interesting because supports are VERY EXCITING, but these inserts turned out AWESOME. My intention was to print several sets to use, rather than prep and mold a set for casting masters, because the sharp points and indents of the generated quartz will be a MESS in silicone.

The awesome thing about printing as needed is that I could use some really cool painting techniques that wouldn’t work in a cast. For this test set, I painted the geode shapes matte black, and then used a nail art technique to polish the crystal tops with a shimmery metallic multichrome greeny-gold dry pigment, for extra sparkle and a cool color-shifting look on the crystals.

SO. SPARKLY.

In order to cast these in dice, I soaked them in resin first and made sure to toothpick all the little crevices to avoid air pockets. Then I filled the molds halfway like I would with any insert, slipped in the geode shapes (the 8 and the 10s are always the worst to fit), and voila:

CRYSTAL MAGIC.

I plan to ink these in a bright spring green, which, with how crystal-clear the top halves are, will make the quartz inside look like soft fuzzy sparkly moss.

OKAAY HOLLYYYY SHIT. So. I started working on this march 30th after I made a lego themed thing for my work! I made a lego version of our work like character person lmfao and i was like hm... this is super cool i kind of want to do my own project with this! So i thought ooo I can make either area unknown or maybe like soul swap! so I was watching michela and was like hai would you reckon AU or SS would be cooler in lego and she said probably area unknown and so then i set off designing the characters! I started with Guqqie’s first and did the jacket. I made it while watching the lego batman movie because its a baller movie... BUT ANYWAY YAS! So i started with the jacket. Because this was the first time I was doing this and really didn’t know how to go about recreating the lego look in terms of lines and stuff so i used 2 of the mecabricks like lego designs and mushed them together annd then from then on i kind of got a feel for everything and was able to design my own more effiencetly! Once i finished guqqie i moved on to to michela’s! and holy shit hers was a bit of a nightmare LMFAO. so i started with the hat because there was no actual bucket hat i used a top hat and then edited it to get the right shape before adding on the axolotl bits! the rest of the design was quite simple and then i went to the hair. GOD. okay so i used 2 mixed together and her bit at the front is actually a pony tail that i re-sculpted and meshed and it made me want to end it all a bit... I was going to add her jacket but i just didn’t know how and also valued my sanity a bit so i decided to Not do it. Before moving on to aimsey’s i actually did the build portion! and MY FUCKING GOD. okay so basically i couldn’t find flats for the minecraft textures that were HD enough so i decided to pixel by pixel recreate every single one! Every. Single One. All of the blocks are 16x16 i believe and i hand colour dropped everyone from shitty screenshots i found of the blocks. Mapping them in blender would seem easy! its just a bunch of cubes and rectangular prisms... but no No it was not. trying to lego ify it was even worse. so like i found a youtube vide that showed how to use geometry nodes to create the lego effect but it just didnt have the effect i wanted so i went ahead and did it by hand... and then i had to fucking RE MAP every block because it fucked it up... i only wanted to slightly end it all... and then finally i went back to aimseys design! you cant really tell but the arm cast is actually seperate to the arm! i duplicated the piece, scaled it up slightly removed a bunch of the bits and then used the solidify modifier and then mapped the bandage on it! I sculpted the horns form 2 circles and then just kind of deleted random bits for the broken one lmfao! once all that was done i rendered them all adding them illustrator where i designed the box and then brought THAT into blender to get renders of the box! I then added all 3 minifigs, the build And the box into 1 blender project to create a cool epic scene to show off the complete set! and thats how i did this!

UI UI UI UI UI:

I've been working on UI mostly the past couple of weeks. It has been, as usual, both very cool & fun but also hell and evil. To be more specific, I really like designing the visual aspect of UI, but implementing it is always so horribly tedious and boring that it is really hard for me to focus on doing it. Without fail, I always end up getting UI done very slowly because of this. I am really happy with what I've got so far though, and it has brought me one step closer to getting to the point where I can just start hashing out levels.

Making the Health UI:

The health UI was something I was extremely excited about implementing, so I eagerly decided to decide that it was time to make it. Let me step u through the process 4 fun.

For me, it always starts with sketching out something crudely in pen. I've had this sketch done for months now, so it was p cool to see it finally come to life in game.

Next I hopped into blender and began trying to make some kind of cool y2k-era greebled out shape, but making detailed machinery (or details in general) is not my strongsuit, so I ended up with this kinda neat smooth shape that I wasn't entirely happy with. It looked cool, but I really wanted to challenge myself to make something closer to the windows media player skins I was inspired by.

More Specifically, I referenced this Half-Life 2 windows media player skin heavily, and started with a ring that I could build little pieces and wires off of. I hope u can forgive me if I maybe made it too similar lol, but I tried to get creative and put my own spin on it. I think the shapes on the top left are the most similar to my reference, and those are not-so-coincidentally the first bits that I modeled. This is my first time modeling something in this style, and I suspect that I'll get better at it if & when I do it again.

Finally, I slapped some materials on, made a texture for one of the faces I had sketched out, and rendered out a few frames of it gently(ish) flashing. I then went into affinity photo and made little speedometer components to slot into the small circle in the top right and programmed some functionality to it. The plan is to have the face represent the player's current health, so I am going to need to make a few more and then animate it rotating into a different face. But yeah, I am super happy with it, and I think it is lookin p sick!

Other Stuff What I Made:

Other than the health UI, I also added in functionality and UI for completing a level and selecting a level.

I was very much inspired by killer7 for the sequence that plays when you shoot your target, and I am addicted to intense flashing lights, so I included a lot of that. There are already accessibility options to turn that off, so if it's something that could harm u or if you just hate it (coward????!!!11) you can disable them. I've always found intense effects like that very cathartic, so I'm probably gonna include similar visuals in a few different things I make. That being said, I do also always want to make the alternative visuals (when the accessibility options are enabled) to also be cool af and get the point across. The level select screen was also really fun to make, I basically just slapped together some textures of warn-out paper into a little files situation and placed that on top of an abstract background that I made in jwildfire.

Conclusion:

I have honestly really loved working on this so far, but there has been a lot of anxiety about money in my life lately, so I really do hope to get this out in a reasonable time. I feel like I say that a lot about this game, but it is because it's always on my mind unfortunately. I don't want to make it sound like I am making this game entirely for money or w/e though, it is definitely a labor of love. Anyways, I hope to get to a point where I can get some environment art done soon, and I cannot wait to show off whatever this game is gonna look like. Have a nice day every1!

So, just, uh, lucky to be getting close here, and hopefully can get back in there soon.  [Is that something about the rehab process that people don't realize, is kind of how isolating it can be?] For sure, yeah, I think, I mean, this is like the third week I’ve been out, I can’t imagine guys that are out for, like, long-term, it’s just … I mean, mentally, like, athletes, we’re wired, like — we want to have somewhere to be every day and we wanna know, like that’s just kind of how we are, and I think that’s something that a lot of people overlook, is like, the mental side of it too, like, obviously you’re physically hurt but, like, mentally — the mental health part of it’s huge, and you know, if I didn’t have such a good support system, or family, and my fiancée and stuff, like … I’d be driving myself crazy. So it’s just, I’m getting close, the guys have been great, um, you know — the staff’s been awesome, and I just, I’m dying to try to help this team win again.

[How do you feel?]   I feel good. Uh, it's getting close and, uh … you know, I’m just itching to get back with this team. 

[What about the All-Star nomination and whatever?]   Yeah, it was pretty cool. I, uh, wasn’t really something I was expecting but, um, obviously, a dream come true and, um, it’s pretty crazy, so, pretty happy about it. 

[Have you talked to Robo about it? Just about what it’s — I can’t imagine what it’s like to be around those people, and, just, the whole experience.]   Yeah, nothing yet, uh — I’ve been pretty, uh, excited, I got a couple former teammates like Brady and Kells that are gonna be there, so it’ll be fun to see those guys and, uh … just gonna try and have fun and, uh, not end up on too many highlight reels. 

[I asked Pete this morning, are you worried at all about the timing of it, coming off the injury? You’ve got a month to get ready for it.]   Yeah, not at all, no, I’ll be ready to go, and, uh. Yeah, I just gotta make sure I, uh, don’t get put in a blender with any shootouts or anything and I think I should be fine. 

[He even said that I think you guys have seven days off in that span, so just being out on the ice might be a good thing for you.]   Yeah, for sure, I think, uh. Yeah, it, uh, obviously makes break a little shorter, but, good reason to, um, you know, put the pads back on, and obviously, uh, something, you know … I think when I was first nominated, just thinking about all the people that have believed in me and, um, you know, the fact that I can I’m an NHL All-Star and, you know, that’s something no one can take away from me, you know, so it's pretty cool. 

[Robo got to go to a beach in early February last year, you’ve gotta go to Toronto. Are you a little disappointed in that breakdown?]   Uh … no. I’m gonna go to a beach for a couple days before, so I'll get my beach in and then, uh, Toronto, obviously, will be like a hockey mecca, and, um … I’m sure the turnout will be amazing, and, uh, yeah, so, if it’s gonna be somewhere cold, Toronto’s a pretty good spot for it. 

[What’s it been like watching Wedgewood and what he’s done the last few weeks?]   Yeah, it’s been awesome, he deserves, you know, a ton of credit for how well, you know, he’s played, and how good we've done, um, since he stepped up and played really well and — you know, that’s the nice thing, like, you know, [if] either of us go down, that, you know, the team believes in both of us and, um, just, that’s such a luxury to have and you know, he works his butt off and deserves, you know, all the credit and, um, it’s just been fun watching him. And you know, I’d like to take some load off his hands soon. 

[Does it affect you at all, when he’s playing that well? I mean, you don’t have to push back to get back into there — I don’t know that you would or wouldn’t or if, you know, that’s a doctors’ question, but it does seem to take a little bit of the pressure off.]   Yeah, I think, I mean, not really, like, for me, maybe more, like, the coaches and stuff? I mean, um — yeah, like, obviously, you know, they feel like, you know, I don’t need to rush back to get into games, obviously Wedge has done a great job and we can win, um, with anyone in net, and he’s just, uh, given us that, you know, luxury of making sure I can come back at a hundred and ten percent. And I’m getting close, and, just, you know, dying to be a part of the team again.

In-game world you'd live in: Ok, NOT Forgotten Hollow. Shocking, I KNOW. Unless it was a really cool build. It's so small. Not enough for me. I like Brindleton Bay because I love the sea. Or Sulani/Selvadorada. That would be kickass and both worlds remind me of where I grew up.

Favorite decor object: The bookshelves by Strange Storyteller Sims always make it into my builds. A lot of stuff by Lili's Palace too. I love modern/contemporary builds but I end up doing these builds filled with antiques and frankly it pisses me off a little that I can't be more versatile and keep going for the same old when there is so much choice.

Something you want in the game: A storyteller mode where I can toggle day/night, seasons and other goodies without having to download a bajillion mods. Or getting rid of item slots on surfaces so I can clutter without OMSP or the TOOL mod BECAUSE I AM LAZY and I get tired of decorating if I need a math degree to move something 500 times.

How did you actually start making these models or how do you basically have the motivation to do so, i really wanna try modeling like yours but im so confused on where to start😵‍💫

My motivation originally came from wanting to animate, but to animate in 3d you also have to know how to model, texture, and shade... As of some resources to start, I've included what helped me the most under the cut!

Getting Started:

Im sure anybody new to learning blender has probably heard of blender guru, if not, ill be happy to introduce him!

He's honestly what helped me the most with getting familiar with all the in's and out's of creating a good render, as well as figuring out how to go about approaching certain things. He also has a few older videos (blender 2.79 my beloved and behated....) that walks you through the process of creating different renders. My only problem with them is that they're a bit long...

ok hear me out, this actually really helped me with learning how to model in general. This tutorial may be old but it honestly taught me things like using the mirror modifier (an actual lifesaver), and how to approach modeling more complex shapes. Yea i get that the entire tutorial is kinda hyper specific but sometimes you just gotta roll up your sleeves and say "today im going to learn how to model a lowpoly elephant"

Intermediate:

have you gotten bored of making lowpoly elephants? Time to expand onto more advanced things, like people! One of the absolute best tutorial makers i've ever seen with my own two peepers is daniel krueter

Again, a bit of an old tutorial, its what opened the door to creating characters for me. He expands upon more complex box modeling, as well as introduces you to edge modeling for more specific shapes like the face. I'm pretty sure he also goes a lil bit into topology, and edge flow, but in case he doesn't the general idea is: quads are amazing and beautiful, tris can stay but are on thin ice, and n-gons are the devils spawn. (you know its true because it rhymes)

Two other tutorials from him that utilize 2.8+ and a lil bit of sculpting/retopologizing. To be honest I haven't really gotten around to watching these, but I would recommend the second one if you want a more in-depth look on how he did certain things, whereas if you want a general view of his process you should take a look at the first one.

If you're looking for some ✨quick tips✨ a few recommendations I have are Gleb Alexandrov, Cgmatter/Default Cube, and Ian Hubert.

Gleb Alexandrov has a lot of tips on just how to make things look a lil bit better, rendering/material-wise

Cgmatter/Default Cube do more technical tutorials, like how you would go about making certain things, abstract or otherwise

Ian Hubert is kinda like Cgmatter but they do more tutorials on things you would find out in the wild such as buildings, fish, posters, and scary nightmare men! (They also do a lot of vfx/hard surface stuff which i think is super cool)

And finally, leaning on the more advanced side is Dikko

he does quite a few tutorial videos for things like Adobe Illustrator/Maya both of which i don't have because im broke but i mainly really like their rigging/hand modeling tutorials. I'm pretty sure he introduces drivers for the different controllers of rigs and ik constraints, but im not sure because i haven't really gotten around to watching the whole thing.

Advanced; Learning to Stylize:

From here it gets a lil bit more abstract because theres no "right" way to stylize, whereas with photorealistic rendering most of the time there is a very clear line between real-lookin and not real-lookin. A lot of it is just kinda what looks good.

My go-to person for stylized environments is Kristof Dedene, he makes some of the prettiest shaders ive ever seen. (im a huge fan of his water shader)

he has tutorials for clouds, waterfalls, buildings, rocks, and grass which all look so good i could cry

My absolute beloved, my blorbo, my favorite activity. Sam Bowman is like the godfather of all things procedural, words cannot describe how much this man has helped me make funny lil designs for my funny lil projects. Everyone should watch his videos (and subscribe while youre at it, my boy is criminally underrated)

A geometry nodes connoisseur (if theyre doing geo nodes you know they got the class that wont quit). Their renders are really cool to look at, but geo nodes scare me so i haven't really gotten around to doing their tutorials yet, still would definitely recommend them if youre interested!

ok so if im being completely honest i don't know what hes doing, but in my defense i don't think anyone else does either. His newest normal editing series is witchcraft to me but i think its funny how he casually dabbles in the dark arts so im including him in here. He's covered a lot from uvs, to masks, to drivers, to shaders, but again they are all kinda advanced so proceed with caution.

And because this post wasn't long enough heres some extra people to check out who do kinda tutorial stuff (but mostly i just like looking at their work)

FLASHPOINT - DESTROYED

This is an album cover I was commissioned to do by a punk-artist and longtime friend of mine, Nick De Leon, for his independent music project and band, Flash Point. (Here's a link to their Spotify, and Instagram) Nick stated in our meetings about this that he wanted it to be black and white only with a heavy emphasis on line art/pen and ink, and have it be derivative of the DRI: Dirty Rotten LP / Violent Pacification cover art (pictured here)

Here's the breakdown of how I made this thing:

To start, I imported a posable Skeleton, combat knife, and M16 OBJ into blender for reference. My experience with drawing boney folk is limited, so I knew I'd need some help.

Then, I drew a sketch of this skeledude on paper, added some tattered army greens to him, then transferred it digitally. I went onto pexels.com and found an image I liked that had smoke, and added a screen tone effect to it! (This would help me shade the smoke later)

After that came line-art and shading. The client said he only wanted 2 colors on this album art, so I had to really flex my damn ol' noggin to get the textures right for the clothes, the bone, and most importantly the metal (which was the hardest, yet most rewarding part of this entire piece) I already tend to work in a pretty limited color palette, but I don't really do black and white, flat out stuff like this. Which means I really had to make it sing for it to work, and luckily I was able to! The band loved this image when I showed it to them, and were super pumped about it

Next came volume shading. I ended up using a technique I saw watching an animation documentary to help me distinguish the shading of the smoke, red being where the hatching will be the heaviest and green being a lightly hatched area. This ended up saving me a lot of time and multiple headaches

And yeah, that's it!

Overall I'd say this is one of my most favorite pieces I've ever done. The band uses it for their posters, flyers, their profile pictures, and so on and so forth. It was cool (and pretty meta) to see it on flyers in bars and restaurants around the city I live in. This project also helped me realize that working for myself as an independent artist is something I want to pursue. This was literally a case of me making art for someone else who also makes art. That is so cool in my opinion. Because of this commission, I was able to land art gigs with other artists and bands. I've been taking it slow since the end of 2023, but I'm excited to start making more new art, music, and things in the future.

@taylorswift’s chai sugar cookie recipe (lazy girl version)

Okay so I’ve been making her chai recipe since she first posted it on here (RIP to those days- taylor we miss you) buttttt I’m lazy and it takes forever to make sugar cookies from scratch and it can be super easy to mess up if you don’t get it perfect. Hate that.

Anywayssss here is how I make the best chai sugar cookies (second to Taylor’s no doubt) the quick and dirty way:

What you’ll need (this is your grocery list):

For the cookies:

1 Bag of Betty Crocker’s Sugar Cookie Mix

1 Egg

1 Stick of Butter, softened

1 Capful of Real Vanilla Extract (or 1/4 teaspoon)

2 Chai Tea Packets OR 2 teaspoon of Pumpkin Spice (the spice in the spice section) and 2 teaspoon of Allspice. I never measure it I just sprinkle it in until it ~feels right~ you do you.

For the icing:

1 Cup of Powdered Sugar

3 Tablespoons of Egg Nog OR Milk OR Chai Tea Liquid (like the one they use at Starbucks— I’ve used them all before and they all turn out great either way)

1/4 teaspoon of Nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon of Cinnamon

Now for the recipe/how-to part:

First, turn on your oven to whatever the cookie mix packet says. Then add the mix, egg, softened butter, vanilla, chai tea packs or spices into a bowl. NOW if you have one of those fancy blender things for cookie dough you can use that but I don’t so I “knead” it like bread dough lol aka mix it with my VERY CLEAN hands.

Once everything is mixed together well, rub some butter or non stick spray on your cookie sheet (just a lil) then I like to take the tablespoon and scoop out the dough, roll it into a ball, then press it on the cookie sheet.

Okay now for the cooking times, every oven varies, and no one likes rock hard cookies. The bag says bake for 12-14 mins, and when you go to take them out you will think “These do not look done maybe a few more mins” DON’T. They somehow “cook more” once you pull them out on the hot pan. A good rule of thumb is to gently tap the top of once and see if there is any firmness (I know that doesn’t explain much but once you do it you will know).

If I’m in a hurry I’ll put them in the fridge or freeze to cool down before icing. For the icing, whisk the powdered sugar, your choice of liquid (see above), and the spices in a small bowl. I just take a spoon and drizzle or pour in on the cookies once they are cool. If you need to take them somewhere, like to a fun holiday party, put them back in the fridge after icing so the icing with “dry” and won’t rub off while traveling.

This is my favorite recipe to make and everyone requests it around the holiday and it’s super easy to make so go impress your friends/family!!!!
