In this gemstuck, Dave is a rare sapphire that has grown bored of his fate and future.

Lying about his vision to Green Diamond, he claims he will be shattered due to complications of the rebels. Instead, he disappears during the fighting, running into Rose Quartz herself (John as Pink Diamond and June as Rose) and she clearly sees he is deserting, decides to let him leave.

Dave is free from the diamonds, and for a short period, he is free to do whatever he wants. The issue is that everything is just as obvious as before. That was the case until he ran into a off colored Ruby who was hiding on earth after hitching a ride in a colonial ship thanks to the help of his friends. Karkat was constantly hiding his gem, and pretending to be some sort of Quartz. He was unpredictable. He was loud and uncaring of Dave’s rank. And things like this added up and they fell in love.

i like to think after the whole Gotham War fiasco, Damian would randomly hang out at Tim's boat - besides silent parallel play lol, they could bond over their vehicles! like, tinker on Tim's Robin Cycle and go over old Redbird blueprints. if Tim's visiting the brownstone, same thing with Damian's Robin Mobile!

otherwise, based on DC Pride 2023, the most i can see them bond would be during vigilante activities haha

The thing about Steph, is that a lot of people underestimate her. Even other bats, who should really know better, seem to do it all the time. Duke privately thinks that its because she's funny and upbeat that people will just let her fade into the background as a dumb blonde.

"Oh," Spoiler says about as lamely as Duke feels right about now. "OH! Damnit I was betting on dimension travel."

Duke raises an eyebrow under his helmet.

"Dimension travel?"

"Yeah like maybe you're a happy universe' Batman," Spoiler says, her body language loosening into typical Steph. "Or wait..."

Spoiler gasps, leaning into whisper: "Are you Evil Batman?"

Duke barely doesn't burst out laughing.

Duke breaks into helpless giggles.
