You know how everyone shows Magolor, Taranza, and Susie as besties?

Well do you think the Master Crown, Dimensional Mirror, and Star Dream would also be besties?

Ok this ask reminded me of a shitpost I've been meaning to make so let's get that out of the way:

You see, I always envisioned the Ultimate Evil Trio as Star Dream, Queen Sectonia, and Traitor Magolor. (I guess the Master Crown and Dimensional Mirror are technically along for the ride in this case?)

Anyways: you might be clairvoyant! I've been thinking A LOT about Star Dream in particular lately, including how it might feel about other Ancient Artifacts---like the Crown! (Note: okay the Star Dream brainrot is extremely obvious on my main account now but I swear that wasn't the case when I started writing this answer, ever so long ago. Lol)

I never considered a sentient Dimensional Mirror though... maybe someone else in the fandom has really juicy headcanons (feel free to share in the tags), but at the moment, I only have theories on its magic properties and relation to the magicians of the Mirror World. For example, I like to think that Simirror is from that world, and so they know a lot about the Dimensional Mirror.

As for the Master Crown and Star Dream: they would, theoretically, have a lot to commiserate about together, but I don't think they would actually get along. I won't reveal too much (since I'm still hoping to post some tangentially-related comics and stuffs in the future), but basically: their motivations and sympathies are completely different.

If we are going to make a trio of Ancient Artifacts/eldritch abominations from the distant 10s, I would make it the Crown, Void Termina, and Star Dream. (this way we can preserve the holy domesticated trinity of cat, dog, and bird)

PS: Since you mentioned it, I'll give a small disclaimer... I actually prefer grouping Magolor, Taranza, and Susie as a bestie quartet with Marx. He may not be a 2010s girlie, but I think he balances the rest of them out and makes the dynamic more fun :)

A/n: Can you tell I really love making ot8 blurbs ands titling them moments? Some of these are based off my holy trinity songs (keshi, rini, joji) so, I’ll leave which songs at the end of it 👍

ot8! x gn!reader (no pronouns mentioned) 99% fluff, minimal sad stuff in Changbin and Seungmin’s. Food mention in Minho’s!! Established relationships. 1.3k words total, all blurbs less than 200 other than Jeongin’s which goes over a little lol.

“Come closer.”

You laugh quietly, sliding your hands over his arms that circle around your waist. “I don’t think it’s humanly possible for me to be any closer.”

Then he frowns, and you have to stop yourself from kissing it away, especially when he juts his bottom lip out as if he knew what you wanted to do. “Melt with me then.” He says, leaning to nudge his nose against yours. “Stay with me.”

“I’m always gonna be here, Chan.” You say, even if that wasn’t what he was looking for. “I just hope you’ll stay.”

He’s unable to keep the smile that breaks out at bay, sheepishly leaning his head against your own. “I’ll always stay if it’s you.” You hum in content, pressing a light kiss to his nose that makes a rosy hue come to his cheeks.

“You make me feel complete.” You tell him, grinning when he hides his reaction from you. Chan clings to you for the rest of the night, heart warming at the thought of you being with him for the rest of your lives.

“What’s this?”

Minho shuffles into the kitchenette, looking at the dimly lit room whose only light source was two candles atop a cake. His arms snake around your torso, chin resting on your shoulder.

“The power went out while you were asleep,” he hums. “I checked the fridge and this started melting so fast for some reason.”

He stares at the small cake, watching the smallest glob of icing slide down. “Isn’t it ice cream?”

You make a noise of acknowledgment, grabbing the lid beside you. “Oh, it is.” Minho chuckles at your realization, nudging his nose against the side of your neck.

“And the candles?”

You shrug, “I thought they were cute.” He hums, hugging you right when you lift the cake to his lips. “Minho, make a wish.”

Minho's eyes form crescents when he sees the excited smile on your face, heart racing at just the sight of you. You urge him again, telling him the wax would seep into the cake if he didn’t hurry. Finally, he blows a puff of air onto the candles, pressing a long kiss to your cheek when you cheer.

“You know I’ll always love you,” Changbin whispers into your shoulder, holding you firm against his chest. “That no matter how far we are, I’m always thinking of you.”

You raise his hand to your lips, pressing a soft kiss to his knuckles. “Of course I do.” You turn in his hold, laughing softly when he pulls you into him again. “You tell me every time you have to leave.”

“There won't be a next time.” He says confidently, but you know him. You know he’ll never rest until the whole world knows his name and more.

“There’s always going to be a next time, Changbin.” You smile, smoothing your hand over his arm. “And I’ll be there on the sidelines, waiting for you to come home. Like you always do.”

“Do you wanna go on a date?” You stare at Hyunjin from across the room, slowly backtracking when he’d just stared at you in response. “Or not?”

He shakes his head, tossing whatever he had been doing away as he makes a beeline toward you. “Where are you taking me?”

“The new art exhibit, then maybe the spring festival.” Hyunjin claps excitedly, nudging you towards the door. “Are you just using me now?” You frown, looking over your shoulder at him.

He halts his movements, “What? Of course not! I have to know where we’re going so I can dress properly.” He sees the corner of your lips twitch and sighs, pushing you out the door. “You’re such a tease.”

“Hannie,” you whisper, slapping his cheek lightly. He stirs awake after a moment, arms stretching above his head as he groans. “Hey.”

Han sucks in a deep breath, peaking his eyes open and wincing when he makes contact with the harsh sunlight. “What time is it?” He asks groggily, blindly reaching for your hand above the sheet.

“Two in the afternoon.” You say, chuckling when his eyes snap open. “And before you ask, I didn’t want to wake you because you’ve been nothing but tired lately.”

He frowns, tossing the covers off his body, goosebumps rising to his arms at the loss of warmth. “I didn’t do anything productive today.”

You brush his hair back when he sits up, holding his chin in your hands. “You have the rest of the week to indulge. For now, just relax.” He mumbles under his breath, weight falling onto you as his eyes droop, sighing in content when your fingers run through his hair.

“You coming back?”

Felix shakes his head, knees tucked to his chest as he craned his neck to look at the starry night. “I think I might stay for a while.”

The sand beside him shifts as you sit next to him, his first instinct being to lean his weight against you. A small smile comes to his face when you take his hand, rubbing your thumb over his knuckles lightly.

“No matter how many times I come down here, it’s always the most beautiful sight I’ve seen.” Felix whispers, watching the waves crash against the shore in front of him.

A breeze blows by that makes him shiver, and a pout comes to his face when you pull away, only for a bashful smile to take its place when you swing your jacket over his shoulders. “I would say the same,” you start, leaning forward to kiss his nose. “But I wake up to you in the morning.”

Felix shakes his head at your words, resting his head against your shoulder as he pulls you close. “You’re so cheesy.”

“Stop staring at me,” Seungmin mumbled, looking down at your face in his lap. Your fingers reach up to his face, poking and prodding at his features before he slaps your hand away. “You’re annoying.”

You scoff at the jab, letting yourself fall off his lap and onto the floor. “You’re annoying.” Seungmin rolls his eyes, moving so you’d be sat between his legs, and leans his head down to face you. “Why won’t you let me love you?”

“I let you love me.” He whispered, rubbing his fingers gently against your neck. “Do you think I don’t?” You stay silent, much to Seungmin’s dismay, and don’t give him any physical response either. “I love you.”

“Jeongin, you would complain if someone took your clothes without asking. Why would I steal it?”

He bites his tongue, looking to the side when your eyes bore into his skull. Even on the phone he was intimidated by your stare. “That’s a good point.”

“Can you just tell me what you want?”

He doesn’t answer for a moment, looking away from his phone. “I want you to wear it.” A grin breaks on your face that has his heart pounding, a pink hue coming to his face when you hold your phone at a different angle, showing him the sweater you’d already been wearing.

“It doesn’t smell like you anymore,” you tell him, holding the collar to your nose. “So come home.” With a wide grin, he nods, turning the opposite way he was headed, and makes his way to you, his home.

A part of nobility?

Your main goal/want: I’m getting the vibe that you were born in an upper family but you just wanted more. However your ambitions were not all wishful power lust - it was more rational, strategic. You despised sitting still and doing nothing. You were deep into the game and you were good at it, trust me. To be honest, I’m getting some Game of Thrones energy - not only with fighting houses but also with the setting (castle corridors flooded in semi-darkness lol). You wanted to make things better (whether it was literal things or something more abstract).

What did you do (job/finances): Your wealth (at least in the beginning) came directly from your family or heritage. You didn’t need to work for money, you worked for yourself, maybe some relatives. You liked the struggle, the puzzles, the intrigues. It kept your mind occupied. „Finally, a worthy opponent.” *hides a smile*

Love life: I’m sensing some arranged marriage or marriage of convenience (but it’s not like you were pushed to do it - maybe even you were the one who thought it would be a good idea to get married for some reason). You were for sure not looking for love. BUT. With the marriage ceremony completed, true love was served to you on a damn silver platter. Y’all just skipped the dating phase lol. And, what is important - your spouse had very similar energy to yours. You joined forces (world domination couple xd). It’s like when Loki of Asgard fell in love with the alternative Loki. For some of you, it could be the same sex relationship (but then it would probably be in the shadows). Or it could also mean that there was actually no marriage - because it was your decision whether to have one or not - and if you knew it wouldn’t serve you, you simply wouldn’t get married.

Children (or not): I’m getting some only child energy. It was your decision to have a child - not only you planned it but you actively chose one (adoption maybe??). Or maybe you had a pupil for whom you were not only a guardian, but also a mentor. For sure your child has grown to be just like you. I don’t think you were that kind of a parent who shows their affection openly (I know, shocker), but you were a protector. And your child admired you. For sure.

Obstacles: Passion has always been a dangerous field for you in your past life. Dangerous dance. As well as all the people around you. You didn’t mind competition, but to find out that you actually deeply care for winning? That wasn’t something you signed up for. It was scary to find out that the game actually affected your emotions. You worked better with your mind engaged only.

An issue that progressed into your current life: Sometimes a spilled coconut milk is just a coconut milk. 🧉 It’s not about being grateful for shitty things in life or just being grateful - just look around to see other things. Life purpose in your past life: Power, strength and wisdom (the holy trinity lol). You were surrounded by spirits who really enjoyed watching you mature. And by maturing in that case it meant being able to look in the mirror (and face your emotions).

Lesson from your past life: Sharing is caring lol. Appreciate your family or don’t be afraid to create one. Some battles are worth fighting for, even if you know you are going to lose. And sometimes it’s okay to step back (you made your point, so what? Everyone is dead already, nobody heard your damn point). Sometimes it’s enough to fight for what you need, not for what you want.

Death: I don’t think you died of old age, you were at full strength. You just grabbed a higher position when it happened. You fell off your high horse lol. Or maybe you literally fell off some rocks.

Pile 2. Orange tree/sefirot

Who were you: Sagittarius. Love given. Love received. Strong personality. You had all you needed in you. The real magic in a real person, who cared deeply for their family. Your touch made things grow. It’s like your everyday chores were a spell you cast on things around you. A warm happy gaze.  You did ponder the way the universe works, karma, past and future lives. Your main goal/want: Peace. Harmony. Trust. The connection to the spiritual world. You had and still have really strong roots. You saw my gaze once. I feel there was a time in your life when you wanted revenge (or something similar) and as a result it carried you away from the life that you truly wanted.

What did you do (job/finances): Your previous job required an enormous responsibility on your part, you had a high position. So maybe you were a doctor, a judge, a scientist, or a soldier.

Love life: A lot of passion and desire, but also heartache. One of you had a position lower than the other. I’m also sensing some age gap, and there was some imbalance in that relationship. I think you often split up and got back together a while later. Maybe people around you were against your relationship and you had to hide it. I’m sensing you both went through a lot of changes during your lives - you grew up together. And you never gave up on each other.

Life purpose in your past life: Motherhood (not necessarily literal). You had such amazing nurturing energy, capable of creating life. I’m almost seeing this as if you could make a tree blossom just by touching it. You were a perfect listener, you made people feel seen. Also you could have been a truly amazing protective parent (I’m getting the vibe of a mama-bear).

Lesson from your past life: Protect your home and yourself first. If you genuinely want to help others, make sure to care for yourself first. Giving yourself to others doesn’t mean slowly destroying yourself. Breathe.

What did you do (job/finances): You were so hardworking. Couldn’t sit your ass down. Something school-related? Or maybe church? Professor or a priest? For sure your workplace gathered a lot of people for whom you were a mentor.

Love life: A love that is a gift from the Universe. Steady relationship. Instant attraction, a lot of courtship. Hi people of the Internet today I just finished playing Portal 2 for the first time!! No, I did not play Portal 1, nor do I possess Portal 1, I just noticed that Portal 2 was installed on my Xbox (who knows how long it's been there) and I was like "huh. eh sure why not lol"

Environments were beautiful. Favorite parts were the vintage look of the old testing facilities and the 'between' areas of Aperture Science that you run through when escaping from Glados/Wheatley

thinking about new fic

my brain is slowly building a new Rodimus/Soundwave fic, but it's going to be an IDW-esque AU. very heavy on the AU.

since it therefore wouldn't be TFP SW/MTMTE Rodimus, I ran a lil poll on twitter to see if people would still be interested. here are the results:

I'm currently brainstorming how to deviate from the fundamentals of IDW without completely abandoning the essence of Cybertronians. JRO built a lot of explanations for Transformers into his worldbuilding. why can't they remember where they came from initially? information creep. how do you explain a population of different alt modes? functionism (this is an in-universe justification for the treatment of said alt modes, not really an explanation, but it fills the role exceptionally well). what are the fundamental building blocks of a Cybertronian? that holy trinity of brain, T cog, and spark

the general course of IDW1 society seems to trace back to the "God War" and Adaptus saying "hey what if we tried to take over the universe."

I'm uninterested in war and very interested in trying to think of a new mythology that still feels Cybertronian. what if the Titans had never left? what if there had never been a god war? what if there wasn't even an Adaptus or Primus? can I still make a story that will interest readers and feel Transformer-y? that's the main goal. it strikes me that that seems to be what IDW2 was... maybe...

a new flavor of Soundwave/Rodimus is the secondary goal. it was really fun to build and change TFP Soundwave in TEG, but that's done now. I don't want to bring TFP SW into the IDW universe for this story because I'd have to do some version of TEG over again just to get him to an amicable point (and I'm uninterested in multiverse shenanigans this time around). I don't know/understand a ton about IDW1 Soundwave, so I'll probably be changing him quite a bit. I'm stressin' the AU in "IDW1 AU," here lol. well if I'm changing IDW SW quite a bit, why not just use an amicable TFP Soundwave? idk man, it just doesn't feel right to stick him into an IDW world with no explanation. it's part of the challenge...

*contemplates giving IDW1 SW tentacles anyway* heh

so yeah! I had really meant to work on original stuff by now but maybe I'll try to see how fast I can plan/do this project and consider that practice :)

some things I'd like to explore:

-explore physical (brain, T cog) vs immaterial (fields, spark) parts of TFs & how that affects their society

-use a different system of gods than what has been used in canon so far

-see if shadow daddy troll Soundwave is possible

-mini beasts that are different from anything canon has given us

-Rodimus has a Very Big Problem

all the worldbuilding stuff will be the background to the slow burn, of course. I need to think of some good conflicts/plot lines. plots are the hardest thing for me, lel. TEG was easy in that half the fun was "how would MTMTE characters react to TFP SW? how would he react to them?" this would aim to explore new iterations in a new world... thus the goal being: can I make it just as engaging for readers? or will people just want TEG part 2?

realistically, I can guess what people want xD but New Thing is the current goal, and heck, all writing is practice, so there we go.

Hi! I saw a post where you mentioned intersex Jesus being a part of medieval European alchemy and I'd love to learn more about that. Could you elaborate or maybe provide links to some articles? I know some saint mystics talked about Jesus being our Mother, and the holy wound in His side was often likened to a birth canal, especially in medieval times. Is it connected to that in any way?

I'd love to elaborate! (This is going to be a long post so buckle up lol)

I will be using the word "hermaphrodite" instead of "intersex" because that is the word that primary sources from medieval Europe and contemporary medieval scholars use when talking about this subject

The best scholarly article I've found is "The Jesus Hermaphrodite: Science and Sex Difference in Premodern Europe" by Leah DeVun. It talks about how the image of the hermaphrodite was used in a metaphorical way by alchemists to show the combining/transforming of two different metals. They believed that certain metals/elements were gendered, so combining male and female "traits" would make something of a completely new sex; similar to the way they perceived hermaphrodites as both but also neither sex.

The article then goes on to talk about two medieval texts: Aurora consurgens and the Book of the Holy Trinity. Aurora consurgens is an alchemic text and has the image below in it. The hermaphrodite is holding a rabbit and bat, both of which were thought to be hermaphroditic species where both males and females gave birth, to emphasize their dual sexuality as well as the conflicting male and female attributes of alchemy.

The Book of the Holy Trinity transitioned from the traditional alchemic hermaphrodite, like seen above, into the religious sphere by arguing that Jesus and Mary were two sides of the same coin. The author of the text says, "one can never see the mother of God without also seeing that God eternally hides and intermingles [his mother] within him. God was and is eternally his own mother and his own father, human and divine, his divinity and his humanity intermingled within. And he depends on that which he wishes to be hidden most of all within himself, the divine and the human, the feminine and the masculine." This makes Jesus/Mary a hermaphrodite.

As a bit of a fun side note to your ask, the author of the Book of the Holy Trinity gives a few more supporting points to his argument and then turns to say that as Christ contains Mary, He also contains the Antichrist which the Book illustrates like this:

The idea of the hermaphrodite Christ really took off after that and boosted the cult of Saint Wilgefortis, saint of monsters. Images of the hermaphrodite Wilgefortis were often indistinguishable from images of Christ because they were both depicted on a cross but where they both have beards, Wilgefortis only has one shoe on: a playful medieval illusion to female sex organs. Images of Saint Wilgefortis below (some images from the 1800s, some from the 1400s). You can read more about Wilegfortis in Bearded Woman, Female Christ: Gendered Transformations in the Legends and Cult of Saint Wilgefortis by Lewis Wallace.

About a hundred years later, “The Lamentation around the remains of Christ,” below, was made depicting Jesus with breasts and feminine curves. Not much is known about it and Christ's hermaphroditic traits weren't even discovered until it was restored in the 21st century. Because of how recent this discovery is, not much scholarly work has been published on it, but I did find this: "The androgyny of Christ" by H. Valdes‑Socin. It is now at the Museum of Notre-Dame à la Rose Hospital in Lessines, Belgium.

And you're absolutely right about Christ's stab wound being like a birth canal! I think the article Mysticism and queer readings of Christ’s Side Wound in the Prayer Book of Bonne of Luxembourg by  Dr. Maeve K. Doyle does a good job of explaining it. Dr. Doyle says, "The image of the side wound, ... grants feminine bodily attributes to Christ, destabilizing assumptions about his gender. In mystical images and texts, Christ’s capacity to transcend the gender binary, like his capacity to transcend the binary of life and death, underscores his divinity." Dr. Doyle then goes on to talk about how images of the stab wound looking like a birth canal would also be comforting to medieval women, trans people, and homosexuals on both sides. Now I'm not Christian but I think it's really amazing that such a simple image can elicited so much comfort and joy in so many groups of people who were not able to fully be themselves in the era they lived in. It was a reminder that even Christ was like them, their feelings were valid (to an extent), and that Jesus loved them anyway. Medieval Jesus stab wounds below for people interested.

Speaking of changes in Christian beliefs and interpretations, I've noticed a recent shift where some folks want to focus more on the idea that Jesus was human, and all that idea entails. See, although Christian churches obviously teach about Jesus as an important figure, a lot of them (at least that I've seen and been to) tend to portray him as a divine being who was just born on Earth because he had to complete his mission of saving us from Hell. The recent trend I've seen has been about discussions and slight changes in approach to Scripture, where people talk about Jesus being human, and how that adds to the meaning of his sacrifice of his life for us – he wasn't just with us, he was one of us, and he lived like us and died like us.

I find it silly to be up in arms about a plural interpretation of the Trinity because "it's change!! It's not exactly what we worshipped before!!" when people are already doing that in a different way lol. Good luck preventing *checks notes* people wondering if Jesus had a favorite wood he liked to work with as a carpenter

This also reminds me of something in When God Talks Back by Tanya Luhrmann.

One of the interesting things she discussed was this shift in culture where in a lot of modern evangelical churches, god became more of a close personal friend.

There are references to friendship with God and with Jesus in the Bible, but this friendship is not the free and easy companionship of two boys swinging their feet on a bridge over a stream. The remarkable shift in the understanding of God and of Jesus in the new paradigm churches of modern American Christianity is the shift that the counterculture made: toward a deeply human, even vulnerable God who loves us unconditionally and wants nothing more than to be our friend, our best friend, as loving and personal and responsive as a best friend in America should be; and toward a God who is so supernaturally present, it is as if he does magic and as if our friendship with him gives us magic, too. God retains his holy majesty, but he has become a companion, even a buddy to play with, and the most ordinary man can go to the corner church and learn how to hear him speak. What we have seen in the last four or five decades is the democratization of God—I and thou into you and me—and the democratization of intense spiritual experience, arguably more deeply than ever before in our country’s history.

The chapter tells the story of how a lot of this change was owed to an unconventional union of these conservative churches and hippie preacher Lonnie Frisbee.

Frisbee's teachings essentially single-handedly rewrote how God and Jesus were perceived in these evangelical churches for generations.

... and then he was excommunicated from the denominations he founded for being gay, and they've been trying to erase his history ever since.

Because yeah, right-wing evangelicals suck...

But the point is, doctrine changes. People's understanding of and their relationship with God changes. That's how religion works. And sometimes, it only takes a single person to start making those waves.

And so he finds this middle of the nowhere chapel that basically has next to no parishioners (they’re all old and make the trek to the chapel for like spiritual emergencies or like holidays such as Christmas and Easter).

So basically he’s just living in the middle of the woods just keeping to himself when you happen to be passing through (to see family, let’s say it’s Christmas). And you’re car gets stuck cause you forgot to put on the chains for your tires

But you remember passing a little chapel literally two minutes ago so you make the short cold trek to it before it gets too dark and this stacked, hot as hell priest opens up the door after you knock and you’re just like uhh help? 😅

And he invites you in as you tell him your car trouble and he’s listening but his face is totally unreadable so you’re just like I can just call someone and get out of your hair? And uh oh the phone lines are down and there’s no service :( so you’ll have to wait til the morning but in the meantime Leon offers you his bed but you’ll have to share cause there’s no central heat and his little room only has a small fireplace :( 🤭
