It's incredible funny how much Etho likes 'Blue Fire', so much so that he makes it a main feature of his base and his special attack on TCG
and yet hermitblr has done NOTHING with this information

Smoker’s Lounge.
Hey, sometimes even Generals need a break!  Stay AU Patryck and Paul, timeline-wise they’re in their 30s here :D personally I dont think Pat is much of a smoker, but you know, stress comes in and Paul always has a pack on the ready, might as well.
Bonus lil Tord sketch below plus the flats of this piece <3

How to touch some grass
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A guide for chronically online girlies who spend every second of their life scrolling through Tumblr. (no front, I love you <3)
Go on a walk. Fresh air, baby!
Lay in the sun. Or in the rain, since it's autumn.
Read a book. Only if you are able to with your goldfish TikTok attention span, lol. <3
Draw Something. I challenge you to draw a cat. send it to me on Twitter @ malusokay and I'll draw a better one. try me.
Try learning a new language. A date with the Duolingo bird.
Go to the theatre alone. Sit in one of those couple seats and stare at the cringy couples while eating popcorn; ignore the movie lmao.
Clean your room. Or reorganize it!
Climb a tree. At your own risk.
Make yourself some tea. Maybe host a tea party!
Try a new hairstyle. I've been trying those low space buns jk?
Bake a cake. Like a fancy and cool one!
Throw your phone into a lake and try to find it. :)
Workout or do yoga. Pilates can be fun too.
Try making friends in irl. This is a tough one, I'm sorry. <3
Paint your nails. Mine are black rn!
Start planning your birthday. Or write your Christmas wishlist.
Go get a coffee. Make your way to your local cafe and try something new! <3
Try learning how to crochet. I've been crocheting makeup bags, lmao.
Do your skincare routine. Do a face mask, and take time for yourself. <3
Make a smoothie. I'll give you a recipe... Banana, raspberries, strawberries, yoghurt for protein, your milk of choice and some coconut flakes as a topping!
Do your homework. So you can be lazy without feeling guilty.
Water your plants. They did nothing wrong... come on.. :(
Go to Ikea. Who doesn't love IKEA?? (not sponsored, lol)
Don't judge me, I wrote this at 3am, and I have the flu. It was fun tho haha.

Love love love keigo with a winged spouse. I could listen to it all day. If I had the energy I'd also talk about it all day. Personally I think it would be a little funny if his bird instinct side kicked in a little eariler/stronger, so he's doing all this courting stuff to prove he's a good mate but. (Assistant in this case) is a smidgen oblivious. Just for the first while. Then the drive boots up finally and they're all "oh hes doing that... OH."
LMAO
Not raising an eyebrow when he starts to leave snacks and hot drinks in the mornings on your desk, figuring out what your favourite it is by observing you from afar (I imagine him standing in his office, he has slatted blinds on his window and he’s just peeking through… waiting…)
Anyway, that’s still not enough to make the dots connect. You just assume he’s being nice to you or that he just does it for his staff, he’s a nice guy!! Then the bird instincts really kick in when he starts to bring in items of clothing.
Let’s say it’s winter. Hes bringing you a new scarf, gloves, a hat, even a nice expensive coat!! (His brain is telling him to provide ‘nesting’ materials - so he goes for the soft things! He will bring you a blanket if you so much as expressed a desire for one)
It doesn’t really click until you see him peacocking. Yes, he peacocks. It’s a casual flex of strength, of power, of pure wingspan… a good display that he’d be a strong and capable mate. It just suddenly shifts something in your mind and everything makes sense.
You now understand why you keep all the soft things dotted around your bedroom. And why he only ever brings you sweet treats and hot drinks — he’s courting you & you’ve been subtly agreeing to it this whole time without realising it!!
Also I think sometimes birds will preen before they start the whole ritual courting thing so like, he absolutely would preen you. He’s straightening feathers absentmindedly, he’s making sure all your feathers are healthy and clean. He’d even help you when you’re growing in new feathers, soothes them out to ease you of any pain!

show don't tell (and how to apply it)
I know I write about this a lot, and maybe I should elaborate a little. "show, don't tell"—use description in your writing, rather than saying it outright. and I think the difference is, really, for the reader: whether they are in the story, or outside of it.
you know what we read for: to escape, to find a new world. but would you rather truly live the adventure, or skim through texts about it?
here it is, simply.
showing - describing, telling things to the reader without saying them outright.
telling - showing something to the reader without any fancy words.
and doing this, it makes the characters more real. tangible, not a fantasy.
but they don't need to be all the time. so when do you use it? an easy way could be to write it all out, the way you intend it to be. do you see the world felt, or a variation of it, scattered throughout the writing? try swapping out how they feel with description that shows the reader it. do you use adjectives such as "pretty", or "big"? they're variable in different situations. use metaphors, similes, to show us that's its' pretty.
and then send your writing to someone. to a friend, to a relative, for anyone but yourself to read it. you want them to think "oh, that's pretty", rather than you tell them, because how would they know? if they understand you intention, and if they feel something, you know you must be doing something right.
*though with all writing advice, I should say this doesn't apply to everyone! writing advice is advice, and that's all it is. excellent writers get by without applying this, and they get by with using this.
