Hello!!! so I love your story Sober II… I was re-reading it back to back with TSH and the way you wrote them felt so true to Tartt’s characterization of them I was absolutely floored to how you captured the essence of the characters in your writing and your extension to their dynamic.

I have a question about your own personal head-canons between the two because I also read your spin off fic of sober II and found myself wondering who you think is the more physically affectionate of the two? I get the feeling that both your Francis and Richard kind of shy away from showing the other affection, or at least quite hesitant in doing so. From what you’ve written I feel like it’s Francis because of little moments like him placing his feet on Richards legs when they’re both on the couch… but in my re-read it’s Richard usually reaching for Francis, or Richard keeping Francis’ hands on him out of instinct. And that bit where they’re in their 40s and Richard suddenly becomes paranoid about how close they were in front of his students. Anyway, sorry for the tangent but I’m simply curious about who you think is the more affectionate of the two!

Also, don’t laugh at me but when you mentioned Anne Carson in your story I fell into a spiral of purchasing a few of her novels and translations and now I’m obsessed. She’s pretty popular but she’s never really be on my own personal radar, so thanks for that!

that’s an interesting question and your analysis is good haha- made me sit and think about my subconscious choices in writing them. i think you’re right that i don’t necessarily see them as affectionate with each other from jump, due to all of richard’s sexuality hangups and francis’ weird relationship to physical affection.

in my head francis is definitely more touchy but it’s like, following a specific set of rules- he’s flirtatiously touchy (see: initiating all his hookups), and casual with the touches if you’re an unthreatening figure in his life (his mother, camilla, etc), but i feel like bc richard is a bit of a complicated situation as of post-canon he’s more withdrawn with him than he might otherwise be (and might have been back in early hampden when he gave less of a shit about richard and also was prodding at him to see if his gaydar was right). he has a lot of walls in place mixed in w his sexual traumas (childhood and otherwise). altho he does tend towards softer than richard, what with the blanket coverings and such.

richard’s thing is 1) he’s the outsider, so he’s more yearning for other people to bring him in than secure in reaching out 2) Men are not for Touching. hes so happy to be part of the pile of limbs in the backseat or get his hair ruffled or hand held or whatever but even in hampden i don’t recall him initiating that very often except when his emotions just overpower him (see the camilla kisses). that said, to your point, i think especially w the benefit of their history and also the traumatic losses they suffered, richard is very reachy- the whole sober ii thing is like. the kind of panicked / instinctive motion to keep what’s left of his hampden days with him. and how that melts into holding onto francis specifically.

anyway they both have that going on. richard is probably more classically touch-starved? but they’re both more comfortable with sex than other touch from what we see- like, it is kind of ironic that the day francis comes to hook up with richard seeking that connection to distract from murder hell is Literally on the heels of richard seeking out a random girl to do the same thing with. they are soo.

they grow into it tho. francis starts it off bc hes like oh right this is someone im hooking up w now so i can do x y and z. but richard’s probably first to go sort of, ah, romantic about it, which then sends francis skittering back a bit. i have a lot of Thoughts abt their physical scars & how those play in.

Baylan and Shin’s parting

The scene that has upset (me) or confused (also me) most people. A chunk of people, who I respectfully disagree with, have said that Baylan is “abandoning” Shin. While I agree she definitely feels abandoned, I do not believe that is or ever would be Baylan’s intention. I just don’t think it works.

There’s an obvious amount of care (love, you could say) in their relationship. They’re not your typical competitive Sith master / apprentice relationship or Jedi master / padawan where feelings like that were repressed. They’re not mercenaries who were put together for a job or purely for the selfish gain of power. Shin has been under his wing as his padawan, borderline his child, for a long time.

He’s very protective of her as we see most notably in episode 4 when he ‘kills’ Ahsoka because she threw Shin into a rock. That sort of protection that drives you to kill someone (I don’t believe his original intention was to kill her—it was that that set him off) doesn’t come from a lack of love or lack of a relationship.

Their first scene on Peridea is another to consider. They’re comfortable, open, and vulnerable. Shin’s tone when she says “I know no such stories (shoutout to the person who made that post about Baylan telling Shin stories about the Jedi when she was younger. i still think about you)” is a sarcastic tone, almost teasing. They both comfortably smile and are way more relaxed being around just each other. Shin asks him questions without fear and Baylan answers without hesitation.

So, no, I don’t believe he’s abandoning her.

Now, nothing is known for sure. What exactly does he hear? What exactly does he see? What vision does he have?

Hopefully we get that answer, but my (and maybe most of you) bigger concern is why part from Shin for a wasteland and some power (yes yes we know he wants the ‘beginning’ but that’s still kinda VAGUE)?

Again, don’t know the truth, just throwing out ideas. i cant wait to be wrong on every front and be completely humbled tuesday night lolol

For one, he’s sensed and understood her questions and doubts and is actually considering them. He’s recognizing “OK, she doesn’t see all that I do”. He isn’t saying “Nope, I’m forcing you to join me in this”. He’d be a jackass if he did that. Since he seems pretty sold on staying on Peridea for… whatever it is he believes is there, he’s letting her go so she can, in turn, find her footing and take her place in the coming empire. Yes, he doesn’t know if that’s even what she wants, but Shin hasn’t exactly told him what she would want. All she’s mentioned (I think) was about leaving Peridea since Thrawn is desperate to leave as well.

Either way, he’s considering her and letting her go her own way instead of forcing her into a future with him that she obviously isn’t interested in.

Two, Baylan actually knows a lot more than he’s letting on and sees something that is… dangerous. Something he doesn’t want Shin exposed to. Something he knows is dangerous and he’s trying to keep her from (so she doesn’t suffer the same fate as his last padawan—if it’s true, of course). This one seems more selfish than some other thoughts. It can even fit other fandoms—he’ll go into it guns blazing for himself despite its dangers, but not her.

Three, which is just a bit of a vaguer, rephrased Two, he can’t / doesn’t want to lose another padawan if he can help it.

“Oh, then why’d she even follow him to Peridea? Why’d Baylan even let her come if he was going to abandon her anyway?”

He’s her master. Of course she’s going to follow him. It’s the guy she’s known longer than anyone else in her life. Her master, her father figure. Why wouldn’t she follow him? Why wouldn’t she stick it out for him? And, again, don’t believe at all that it’s abandonment or even something that was planned. It seemed very spur of the moment—like an off screen decision being made in Baylan’s head. Parting from her wasn’t something on his bucket list he was waiting to check off.

Fourth, the “ambition” that Baylan said was driving Shin is her willingness (not the word im looking for please read my mind) to embrace the dark side compared to himself. If he truly wants to bring an end to the Jedi v Empire back-and-forth, he’ll stay more Gray. So, he parts from her to give her that freedom. It’s the thing that drives them apart.

There’s even more ways to try and understand why, im sure. These are just word vomits and nothing to be taken as truth.

While I don’t at all believe Baylan’s intention was to abandon her, leave her for dead, etc, I definitely agree that Shin does feel abandoned.

Was the decision easy for Baylan? Highly doubt it. I don’t think he would watch her go, take a deep breath in, and roll his shoulders if it was easy. I don’t think he’d look around after Ahsoka stole his howler and debate going back for her if it was an easy decision. I don’t think he’d wait on the hill to keep watch and protect from a distance if he didn’t care.

I think one thing is for sure. Baylan thinks he’s doing what’s best when it’s really not. Shin looked like a kicked dog when Ahsoka offered to help—and whether that’s because she was reminded of 30 minutes prior on the hill beside him, or 15 years prior when Baylan stood above her and offered his help that started them on their journey (yari put this thought in my noggin), it hurts all the same.

I just hope the finale clears something up

okay this has been sitting in my drafts for TOO LONG but i am finally here to talk about petemary / marypeter / whatever it’s called…

i don’t often do a lot with peter because i’ve never been able to quite cement his character in my mind, but very early on in my ‘getting into marauders’ journey i started to consider petemary, before i realised it was a lot less popular than i would’ve assumed.

i just like to imagine them being friends, not particularly close but known to each other, not until all their friends start pairing off. suddenly they’re the only two not dating someone else in the group and they start spending more time together, joking about being left out. not that they’re entirely inexperienced—mary to me is definitely not, she’s at least had a couple boyfriends, even if all they’ve ever done is kiss. maybe even a girlfriend or two. she’s gorgeous and social, of course she’s dated before. i can imagine peter either being experienced or not, i like both the dynamics possible. but at that moment, they’re both single.

eventually, they start joking about getting together, things about how they might as well given everyone else has already paired off. i think mary would’ve started it, peter being a bit too reserved to initiate that sort of thing, but it became mutual very quickly. and of course it’s all just jokes until it’s not really jokes and they start sleeping together in secret. no strings attached, just for convenience, etc etc… yeah sure.

that continues for a while, and they keep spending more and more time together. it’s becoming that even when their friends are around they go off together instead, just talking, gossiping, playing chess. at the beginning they only hung out when everyone else was with their partners, but now they hang out because they want to, and it barely even has anything to do with the sex they’re having. that’s just a bonus. the ‘no strings attached, just for convenience’ starts feeling very strings attached. their feelings develop incredibly naturally, and it doesn’t feel sudden because they’ve just been growing gradually over time until they eventually became too big to ignore.

they start acting more affectionate, and they don’t talk much about it in explicit words, but they start acting more like a couple in front of others and the words of endearment expand out past only the bedroom. their friends start to pick up on it and when they ask, there’s only a moment of hesitation before they say they’re together. they never meant for it to happen that way, but it did and they’re certainly not unhappy about it.

a lot of onlookers would be surprised by their relationship, i think, because from the outside they appear very different. mary is confident, unapologetic, and highly extroverted. she’s well liked by most and similarly admired by many. peter, on the other hand, is the least notable marauder, much more of a follower than a leader. he isn’t antisocial by any means, but when stood next to james and sirius, he’s just more reserved. even remus, who IS antisocial, has his intelligence and his height which set him apart. peter is a people-pleaser, and a born sidekick, but him and mary simply get each other. they’re a lot more similar than they appear, which even they didn’t realise until they started to talk more, but once they got closer, it was practically inevitable for them to start dating. they were each exactly what the other needed in their life.

so yeah that’s them to me <3 i wish they more popular because i think they could have such an interesting dynamic but i never see them in fics. one of these days i’ll write them, at least as a background pairing… ty @saintrequlus for giving me the chance to ramble about them 🙂‍↕️

So idk if you feel the same way but if you’ve read the book fire and blood like you might . I feel the writers destroyed the green side of the dance of dragons . It upsets me so much . I get that the book is conflicting reports and that no pov ( which is a mistake in my opinion) but I digress.! I also feel that they ruined Aegons character yet made Aemond so much more palatable. In the book he’s unhinged and crazy yet in the show he’s not now perhaps season two will change it but I’m just not holding out much hope . They already made Alicent not as much against rhaenyra as the book , they ruined Aegon , his coronation and character , made Aemond have sexual assault issues and not really wanna kill luke. Didn’t even include daeron and probably won’t in season 2 . I just wish they had actually maybe read the book and you know written it better . Guess my question is what do you think ?

I think it was inevitable that they would change things up from the book in the show…. it’s how it’s always been unfortunately! I’ve written a bit more under the cut, if you wish to read my perspective ☺️ happy to have these discussions!

I think from memory GRRM is working alongside the producers for the s2 and hoping his input was stronger, and more to the book with certain characters.

they could potentially redeem Aegon’s character (and I am optimistic in that sense) considering he will have a much larger role to play, since he is the King…

in the books the whole turning point for Aegon was brilliant and I really wished they’d showcased that in the show, but alas they did not deliver. the whole discrete conversation between him and Ser Criston, how he almost even manipulated Aegon into believing Rhaenyra would come after his family, and something snapping in him, I know for a fact TGC would’ve 100% killed that scene…

considering we have endless battles coming up, I’m hoping they showcase that protective side of Aegon more. we only got very minor details that showcased that, more so in adult!Aegon ii. like that whole dinner sequence where he defends Aemond without hesitation, he definitely learnt his lesson the first time and some might even consider that maturing but it’s a very fine detail, that can easily be missed.

I totally agree with you, they butchered a lot of characterisations and dynamics between certain characters. For instance, Nyra’s relationship with her half-siblings would’ve been so interesting to have a foundation on rather than what we saw… I think it would have made it more moving if we saw something.

as for Alicent’s character also, I mean I am not 100% against how Olivia plays her, and I don’t mind that they aged her down to be more intimate with Nyra. But she is much more cunning and cut throat in the books and I am hoping they delve into that side a bit… she’s a very cold character from time to time, and I think we deserve to see that.

these characters are flawed, and I think they tend to exaggerate that more with the Green side than Black, for obvious reasons.

Mind you, I do lean more towards Team Black, but it’s not like they’re 100% perfect either!

The key is to hold no expectations, I’m sort of just going with the flow at this point.

YOUR FAVORITE SEFIKURA FICS?!?!👀👀

I’ve really taken my time with answering this because I have 400+ Sefikura fics in my bookmarks, and I ended up going through all of them. It was very hard to decide. This ended up becoming more of a rec list, because I really find it hard to narrow it down when there are so many fics with this pairing that have brought me joy. Here are my very most favorites—I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

One shots:

Without Mercy, Without Grace by BloodyWar2411 - Probably one of, if not my most favorite sefikura fic ever. The banter, the dynamic, the inclusion of Angeal, Genesis, and Zack… it’s just so wonderful. Angeal is the time traveler this time, and drags Cloud back with him, which changes many, many things. This one will never get old.

The Brightest Star in the Universe by modeoheim - (Technically a two-shot but shhhh). Sephiroth is an alien who crash lands in Cloud’s backyard. Cultural differences, shockingly wonderful emotional vulnerability, interesting world building, and really fun smut due to Sephiroth’s alien appearance—this one has it all. And lots of feelings. God the feelings these two develop for one another are so amazing.

Shelter From The Light by AsreonInfusion, TekkaWekka - I hesitated between putting this one here and in the pwp section, but there is a fair bit of plot, so I’ve left it here instead. Vampires are a weakness of mine, and this fic really does them justice. There’s something wonderful about the fact that the situation depicted here very much should be fucked up, and yet it somehow isn’t. One of those fics that has me imagining what would come after, how their relationship would continue to build. Lovely.

i’m bunkered with ashen soul by shivadyne - Very, very fun world here that’s been built. Cloud is a vampire, old and powerful, but Sephiroth, as a dragon, surpasses him in both respects. There’s something wonderful about Cloud willingly giving himself over to Sephiroth to be a part of his hoard, who immediately starts doting on him and indulging Cloud’s whims. One of those fics that makes you itch for more.

Alone Together by Up_sideand_down - This one has a super, super unique concept, in which Sephiroth and Cloud are both shoved into one body by Hojo. The hijinks that ensue with that are interesting, but the closeness they crave once they’re separated is wonderful.

That Deep Dark by modeoheim - Haunting and dark. Sephiroth really, truly feels like something very far from human. I like to interpret this one in a sappier light, but the ambiguity of it is amazing. Godly Sephiroth deciding that Cloud is His is really wonderful.

corsetry by silentsaint - I am not sure why this fic stands out so much to me. Or rather, I’m not sure how to describe the way I feel about it. One of the most beautiful uses of long, elegant descriptions and wordplay. The dynamic between these two, with Cloud all wrapped up in a wedding dress… there’s something about this that’s ethereal in and of itself, and it’s uniquely compelling.

Rushes and Reeds by corvidkouhai - Short but sweet. The vibes here are immaculate. This piece, and the energy it captures, really inspired my kelpie fic I wrote for Sefikura week. Always a sucker for mermaid/mermaid adjacent fics, and this one does such a lovely job with Sephiroth’s ethereal inhumanness.

Like Mother, Like Son, Like New by jukeboxhound - This is definitely more of a character study of Sephiroth, but it’s wonderful all the same. It all leads beautifully into seeing Cloud and Sephiroth together. I have a weakness for hair washing, so this is one of my favorites for that reason, but also for the softness that’s here in spite all of the acknowledged hurts Cloud and Sephiroth have caused one another.

Inter-Dimensional Life Strategy Seminars (Attendance Mandatory) by dustofwarfare - Crack but very fun and very amusing. Probably not as fun unless you’re familiar with all of the series that this plays with, but it’s quite funny if you are. My love for Sephiroth and Cloud hating Dr. Phil knows no bounds.

Longfic/chaptered fics:

Telling Time With a Broken Watch by CloudStrifeIsMySpiritAnimal - I wish I could provide you with a link to this one, but it’s sadly been deleted. I think about it all the time, though. I don’t think I’ve seen any other fic be able to go as dark and deep with the enemies dynamic and still somehow pull it back on track toward something resembling a healthy romance. The mental bond was amazing, the banter and humor was great. I miss this one a lot.

Rectify by unknownlifeform - Do I have to explain why I love this one? I kept up with weekly updates for around a year and I swear it was always the highlight of my week. Sephiroth is a God and Cloud is rather blasphemous, which is a wonderful dynamic in and of itself, but this goes so far beyond that. It’s. I don’t have words. (And also I still think about the Saferoth smut in this fic. We were truly blessed with that).

The Little Guy by TokiMirage - One of, if not my most favorite longfic for this pair. A time travel fic in which Cloud is Very Done and decides fuck it, he’s not getting involved at all. Time to be a janitor. And yet somehow, of course, fate brings him back to Sephiroth time and time again. Cloud’s personality and characterization here is great—he’s SO sassy and Sephiroth is drawn to him because of it.

What Is My Life by NightmareDaybreaker - This one is still ongoing and I’ve been following it since the very beginning, which has been such a treat. The story sees Sephiroth coming back to life post-AC, but there are so many twists and turns and the plot is so fun that it feels really unique. The characterization is wonderful, I love the banter, and the way the sexual content is written is to die for—awkward and silly in the best of ways, and it feels so very real and intimate and soft. I adore the way that feelings are portrayed in every part of this fic. There are also multiple pieces of art with each chapter, done by the author. They’re all really wonderful, and I love the way they draw Cloud and Sephiroth.

Cadet Strife’s Adventures in the Big City by Munchkin47 - Fun, sweet little soulmate AU. Cloud is so very sassy, and there is so much sexual tension throughout. It’s really wonderful seeing Cloud grow from half-rate trooper to SOLDIER Third. Very fun.

Patience is a Virtue by Iciseria - In which Cloud decided to work as a lab assistant instead of a trooper after failing the SOLDIER exam and everything changes. This fic is… so fucking soft. It’s crazy that it manages it in spite of the setting. One of those wonderful fics in which Cloud gets to know who Sephiroth really is, who in turn feels Seen for the first time in his life.

Call it Magic by kzam - All of kzam’s fics are just… so wonderful. This one plays with some very interesting dynamics in regards to the connection that Cloud and Sephiroth share. As always with kzam, the world building is really phenomenal, and is worth the read alone.

Deep Waters by unknownlifeform - Look. I’m a sucker for mermaids/mermaid fic. But this stands out even from my usual love of that sort of AU. Sephiroth is a big scary abyssal mer, and him and Cloud kind of hopelessly, awkwardly fall in love. The cultural + size difference is superb, and the plot itself is super riveting. Love this one.

Your Wings by WindsOfTime - Cloud is such a bamf in this one dear god. Takes the usual boring CEO premise and turns it on its head. Cloud is Sephiroth’s assistant, yet he is very much the one in charge. And then there’s the wings and the bigger plot and Angeal, Genesis, and Zack… this one is very, very fun.

Rumour Has It by AsreonInfusion - Saferoth tentacle porn and the very start of Feelings. Need I say more?

Reverb by Carressa - One of my favorite smutfics for these two. It plays with some really, really interesting dynamics in terms of how Reunion and puppet!Cloud can be used sexually, and yet somehow is still soft for it? There’s a lot of love beneath the surface here.

Mukbang for Monsters by Fictional_Nympho - This one is a really interesting combination of fun tropes, from camming to monsterfucking to top Cloud, oh my! Really just a whole lot of fun.

Blinded Love by Gregora - Starts off as anonymous sex, but then feelings get involved. Sephiroth has a tentacle dick which is very fun. It’s a source of insecurity for him and very appealing for Cloud—the dive from anonymous sex to feelings in this one is really lovely.

Hazy by esama - Even though this one is a pwp, the plot is super compelling. Time traveler (maybe?) Cloud who’s forgotten most everything except his instinct to kill Sephiroth. Which turns into fucking Sephiroth. Lots of humor, neat dynamic/setup.

The Plan, and How It Went Wrong by XpaperplaneX - While technically this is a bit bigger than what I’d consider a pwp, it is filled with wonderfully written smut, and that’s kind of what the whole plot revolves around. I’m a sucker for pretty men in pretty clothes, so I love the games Sephiroth and Cloud play with one another in that regard.

911 Lone Star Tag Game: Beginnings

(1) Which 911 Lone Star season premiere is your favorite?

Probably the season three premiere but I really liked the season two one as well. Tommy being introduced and having to get used to being back in the field. That little bit of hesitation and the discomfort with leaving the twins when she feels like they need her.

I’ve already said this but the season three premiere was just really good. A good balance of the stories, updating us on what happened over the time skip, where everyone is and reconnecting everyone throughout the episode.

(2) Which character do you think had the best introduction or first scene in the show?

I’m going to say Judd had the best introduction over the course of the 1st episode. We learn so much about him so quickly and I think the writers did a great job with it. He loses his entire house in one shot. We learn about his relationship with Grace. They give him this major conflict with Owen right off the bat and you think its going to be drawn out through the entire show but really by the end of the episode they realize they’re just not communicating well because Judd is suffering from PTSD and Owen’s dealing with his own issues but they both want to honor the old 126 and build something new.

(3) What is your favorite moment of 1x01?

My very favorite part is the interviews. They’re so much fun. It is such a quick and easy way to dump a lot of information about the characters in a short span of time and it worked well because they’re interesting characters and it sets up so much potential and if I’m being honest, a little disappointment.

First of all, Paul actually tackled a guy with a gun. I know the takeaway is supposed to be that he was able to pick the guy out in the crowd but he just, no fear, punched a guy with a gun (definitely explains why he and Marjan bonded so quickly).

Marjan doesn’t showcase enough insubordination considering it was half her interview. She says she’s allergic to poor leadership, so the takeaway is obviously that she has some respect for Owen. We do see a lot of reckless Marjan outside of work but as often as Owen acts up, I feel like we should have seen more of this side of her on calls. Also, Marjan just jumping off the pier/bridge to save someone is fantastic. Way to become the coolest character in like less than 10 seconds.

Finally, one thing I will never let go of is the fact that Mateo broke several academy records in field work. Like they brushed that off way too quickly. Even Mateo himself isn’t impressed by this fact because he can’t past the written tests. Assuming those records were in timed skills assessments like the training we see Owen and Paul go through in later episodes, why are we not actually seeing it used in the field? Maybe they could explain it away when he was a probie but he is a full-fledged firefighter now so no excuses.

Anyways the interviews were great. And TK during each interview reading over the resumes and smiling in the background. You just know he’s thinking, “I’m going to befriend you, I’m going to befriend you so much!”

(4) When did you first start watching Lone Star and how did you find out about it?

I think I started watching it somewhat inconsistently when it would come on after OG 911. It was definitely during season 2. I remember getting pulled into a few episodes and I think I finally I sat down and binge watched it in between season two and three. That’s when I got hooked. I really loved OG 911 and didn’t expect to get so much more attached to the lone star characters but I did and they’ve been living rent free in my head ever since.

(5) What is one wish you have for the season 5 premiere?

I know this is very specific but I have a very clear moment in my mind where Paul and Marjan ask TK, Nancy and Mateo who they think would make a better lieutenant and Nancy just refuses to answer because she’s a paramedic and is not qualified to say. TK attempts to get out of answering the same way and while they argue with him that he was a firefighter and could answer, Mateo just bolts and spends the rest of the episode hiding from them because he refuses to choose between them.

(Evenly distributed screentime would also be high on my wish list. I hate when an entire episode goes by and a character or worse, multiple characters only have one or two lines. I know it’s a big cast but please please please I know it can be done.)

Answering for my Ghostbur-centric modern AU :D Hi, Pinestripe!!

Is there any relationship that's different in this au than in the source material?

YES! Ghostbur & Dream, most absolutely! They are brothers in this fic! Step-brothers, to be precise; they met when Ghostbur was 16 and Dream was 14, when Ghostbur’s mother + Dream’s dad got together. Ghostbur & Dream quickly became very close, and they love each other a whole lot.

It’s been… strange, writing these two in This kind of relationship! Canonically, c!Dream and c!Ghostbur didn’t interact very much. They were never close at all, and Dream was the one who killed Ghostbur for crying out loud.

I’m not too sure why my brain came up with the idea of making them brothers, but DUDE I’ve been having some of the most fun writing them + figuring out their messy brotherly relationship. Dream & Ghostbur love each other deeply, but their relationship is not healthy. It’s been so interesting to think about.

Tommy is also in this fic, and he and Ghostbur are brothers (which is pretty much how they were canonically) but… Tommy is four years old in this fic :) He is simply so tiny. And Ghostbur is about 23 so there is a Big age gap. It’s so freakin cute 😭 Ghostbur is trying so hard to be a good older brother (and sort of a parent as well, because Tommy’s bio-parents aren’t in the picture so Ghostbur’s mainly the one caring for him) and he loves Tommy to the moon and back and Tommy loves him more than anyone else and GAH!!

Dream & Tommy are also brothers!! Dream is around 21 years old, so there’s quite a big age gap for them too. Dream loves & cares about Tommy a lot, but there’s a sort of distance between them. The truth of the matter is that if Dream had to choose between Tommy and Ghostbur, he would choose Ghostbur without hesitation. He doesn’t love Tommy as much, and even though Tommy is only four, he can definitely pick up on that. That’s why Ghostbur is Tommy’s favorite brother lol

Dream has really bad panic attacks. They’re debilitating and scary, and if he doesn’t have Ghostbur around to help him calm down, then things get Real bad. Ghostbur is very very good at calming Dream down though :’)

Ghostbur is a librarian :D He loves his job so so much oh my gosh. He never wants to do anything else for a living; he simply loves being a librarian That Much. It’s quiet and there’s So many books and he loves getting to chat with the people who check books out and!! He loves his job!!

Eret is also a librarian :) He and Ghostbur work together! Eret’s not a main character in this story by any means, he’ll only show up a little bit, but he’s friendly & nice, and he also enjoys his job! He and Ghostbur get along quite well :)

[bonus answer because I just remembered it and I think you’ll really like it] Dream & Ghostbur ran away from home as teenagers (for complicated reasons) and while they were trying to figure things out, they ended up going into a church because it was cold outside and they didn’t exactly have anywhere else to go to for shelter. When they walked inside, there was a guy on the stage playing “Blown Away” on an acoustic guitar, singing for the congregation. Ghostbur had never really done church or religion at all before, and he didn’t think about it much, but he really really liked hearing that song. He was disappointed when Dream decided to leave, because he wanted to stay inside and hear that song play over and over and over again.

What makes you most excited about this fic?

Oooh… hm. Honestly… kinda all of it? It’s been a really long time since I’ve been this excited about a fic of mine. I’m pretty sure the last time I got this excited & happy was last September! It was also for a Ghostbur modern AU lol

But yeah, I’m pretty excited about this whole AU :D The characters have been super fun to work with, I’m loving their backstories, I think the plot is compelling, and GHOSTBUR!!! Ghostbur in general!!!

HI ELLIE!!! Omg, I just started reading IHM. I was originally going to hold off until it was done (or mostly done), because I'm a serial monogamist when it comes to a series (RIGHT NOW I AM LOYAL TO KICKOFF lol), but I ended up reading IHM anyways for some reason. I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH. I know that we're only two chapters in, but I always love and adore how much thought goes into your characters and writing. I found myself giggling the whole way through lul. One thing I noticed after chapter 2 is as much as Gojo annoys reader, he's also strangely attentive to her needs and is a complete foil to Choso. I'm sure this was supposed to be obvious, but I thought it was very sweet how he called her beautiful in the dress (the same dress that Choso didn't acknowledge her in) and how the ring he picked for her was similar to one that she had saved in her wedding mood board. I'm pretty sure it's not exactly intentional on Gojo's part (or maybe it is?? hehe), but I thought it was an interesting detail. Also, I know this is within spoiler territory, so don't feel obligated to answer this, but how angsty will it get between reader and Gojo's relationship? :,) I know that they're both still healing from personal trauma from their past relationships, so will that come into play as they develop feelings for each other? It seems that Gojo is hesitant to talk about his divorce, so would that be a factor or an obstacle that will hinder him from getting too close to reader? Can't wait for future chapters!!! <3 Thank you for spoiling us *__*

AWW IM GONNA SOB TYSM i have put quite a bit of thought into the characters in ihm bc i really want it to be like a web? of interactions btwn them all, and i’m so glad you saw that choso is foil to gojo!! yes!! he is very attentive to her, and i think sometimes it’s intentional n other times it’s just bc they’re meant to be honestly 😭💕 we’ll see that reader too is very vigilant too despite everything she’s got going on :”) i LOVED writing the scene where he calls her beautiful in the dress, every girl deserves to be called pretty in a dress she really adores!! and yeah the ring was totally coincidental but 🤣 again i guess they’re meant to be? hahaha

yesss i think there will be quite a bit of angst between the too, mostly surrounding their ex lovers, and just in general their pasts. i kinda wanted it where reader has lived in town her whole life (childhood home) whereas gojo mysteriously moved in next door less than a year ago, so they both don’t know much about each other despite being next door neighbors. but honestly i think a lot of the angst actually comes from secondary plotlines that end up bringing reader n gojo together!! but there will still be angst between them for suuuure 😭😔 yes gojo is very hesitant to speak up ab his divorce, sorry i simply cannot write gojo without avoidant personality bc i feel like he bottles up a lot in the show too so it just felt fitting 💀😞 but for reader too, i think she kinda…doesnt care to learn much about him as of right now bc she finds him annoying lol, and then later on when she has feelings i think it’ll be too painful for her to learn ab certain things too…so yes definitely i can see how they both would avoid their feelings and instead do the thing most adults do and joke about their feelings to lighten tension or completely avoid them all together 😃😃 (or do i just need therapy loool)

Kinktober Day 13: DP (two holes) feat. Diavolo + Lucifer

Diavolo is the one to bring this up

I imagine he’s probably involved with at least one of y’all, otherwise he’d probably be more hesitant 

He’d definitely bring it up with whichever of y’all is his partner before going to the other

For the sake of this scenario, let’s imagine he’s currently with Lucifer

So Diavolo goes to Lucifer with the intention of adding you into their relationship

He doesn’t really seem like the type to ask this sort of thing unless he knew Lucifer was also interested

Which means Lucifer was probably also thinking about you joining them 

Once the two come to an agreement, they decide to go ask you about it

Highkey way too formal with you and treating it like a whole-ass business meeting instead of a threesome offer 

Naturally, you say yes, because who wouldn’t say yes to them? 

Because all three of y’all are usually very busy, this has to be a scheduled event, and y’all will basically have to clear out the whole day 

The day comes, and you head to the castle to meet up with them

You walk into the room, and the two of them were (very obviously) waiting for your arrival 

As expected, Diavolo is much more openly eager when you show up, and Lucifer is much calmer

The two of them want to get started as soon as you settle in since they want to have as much time with you as possible

Lots and lots of foreplay with the both of them

If there’s one thing they have in common, it’s that they’re both major teases, so they will spend forever just riling you up

Running their hands along your body, sucking hickies into your neck, poking and prodding all of your most sensitive areas

They leave you riding on the edge of pleasure, but it’s not quite enough to get you off

There’s also lots of prep they give you to make sure you can take them both 

The position I imagine y’all are in obviously involves you in the middle

Diavolo is laying on his back, you’re pressed chest-to-chest with him, and Lucifer is leaning over you from behind

Lucifer is especially careful with prep since he intends to fuck your ass, and he’d really hate to cause you pain by under-prepping you

Both demons have wildly different preferences for what pace to set, so the first couple of minutes are kinda awkward as y’all adjust

They wait for you to adjust to having both of them inside of you, and in the meantime, they try to come up with a pace that works for all of y’all

It’s eventually decided that Lucifer will take the lead since he has more space to move around, and that y’all would start slow so you can adjust 

Lucifer begins fucking you nice and slow, and after a few minutes, Diavolo joins in, starting to speed up the pace a bit

Soon enough, the pace is much rougher and quicker, and it’s taking them everything they have to not go full force like they usually do with each other

Since you’re human, they’re trying to be gentler so as not to hurt you, but it’s getting difficult for them to hold back 

If you give them the okay that they can stop holding back, they are fucking you hard

Once they’re done with you, you will not be able to walk for days

Of course, they’ll dote on you and make sure you’re properly taken care of until you recover

Ellis vs Queen Aanya: Who Could Win Ezran’s Heart?

As we can see from the Season 4 trailers, our little boy Ezran is growing up. He really grown from that plucky, jelly-tart stealing young 10 year old into a wise and belevolent preteen king.

Since our young king is heading into his teenage years, I’m sure he’s going to experience all the struggles of puberty, e.g. voice cracking, hormones, etc. While it may not be the focus of this coming season considering the young king has other priorities, I have a feeling that it won’t be long before Callum eventualy has that “Peanut Butter Talk” with his younger half-brother, i.e. the talk about romantic crushes and falling in love. There is certainly no rush for Ezran to have a love interest as he’s still got a bit of growing up to do, and I’m not saying Ezran even needs a love interest...still...the possiblity of our young king developing his first crush this coming season and eventually falling in love and starting a romantic relationship in future seasons is just too adorable of a theory to pass up in terms of discussions. 😁🥰

There is a possiblitiy that they could introduce a totally new character to be his future love interest, but so far I’ve already met two characters who I believe could possibly have great romantic chesmistry with the young king of Katolis.

Those characters are Ellis, the peasant girl who guided Ezran, Callum and Rayla up the Cursed Caldera to find the mysterious healer. 

The other is Queen Anaya, the wise and snarky child queen of Duren.

Here I’m going to discuss why I think either of these young ladies could make a good romantic match for the young king, and you can comment on which of the two you think would make a better match for Ezran.

Ellis:

I personally love this as a potential ship, mainly because I think that Ellis is one of the few children close to Ezran’s age that he’s actually bonded with. In one episode and even the official website description have stated that Ezran has had difficulty making friends with other human children around his age, so seeing him get along so well with Ellis is a good sign.

Both children seem to have such a strong bond with animals. Ezran has a particularly special bond with his pet glowtoad, Bait, and of course the Dragon Prince, Azymondias aka “Zym”. Ellis of course has her special and unbreakable bond with Ava, her pet wolf that she rescued from a hunters trap as a cub. Through their special bond with animals, I’m sure these two cuties would grow a mutual bond and sense of empathy with each other as well. Both would feel it’s important to treat animals like they’re people too.  

They both have similar couragous, adventurous, and optimistic personalities, and always stand up for what they believe is right, even if it means risking their own lives in the process.

I definitely believe Ellis would encourage Ezran to follow his heart and do what is right for the kingdom of Katolis. I imagine she’d be very supportive of his pacifism and possibly has similar beliefs herself as shown in her disgust in traps being set for animals. She’s good for Ezran in that she’ll encourage him to be true to himself and will encourage him to have fun when he needs a break from royal duties. 

I personally think that Ellis shares a similar quirky, stubborn and kind personality to Queen Sarai, who herself came from a lower class background before she became the queen of Katolis. They also have a similar playful sense of humour. Though Ezran was too young to remember his mother, perhaps he’ll find “something fimilar” about Ellis’s demenour and therefore grows to be quite attracted to her emotionally because of that.

If Ellis marries Ezran, Ellis will have the means to provide for her poor family, and Ezran will not hesitate to care for his in-laws out care for them and love for Ellis. Like Sarai, Ellis may struggle with royal life at first, but in time I believe Ellis may herself will grow into a compassionate, brave queen of Katolis and perhaps in time become a loving mother to Ezran’s children. :D

Overall, I think that Ellis will make a wonderful romanctic match for Ezran in that she’d be a kindered spirit to him and a best friend, which is exactly what Ezran needs in a future wife and queen. Still, just because they’re very similar and seem to have a great bond both together and with animals, is that enough to make good romantic chemistry, or do you prefer them just to remain good friends? Perhaps someone more opposite to Ezran could give them better romantic chemistry.

Aanya:

Like King Ezran, Queen Aanya had to grow up quickly and take up the throne of Duren at such a young age due to the tragic death of her parents. Like Ezran, she never knew her two mothers, so she could empathise with Erzan’s pain in not being able to remember his own mother.

Aanya could also relate to Ezran’s struggles with trying to taken seriously as a child monarch, and being the more experienced ruler, I’m sure she has a lot of wisdom to pass down to her slightly younger and less experienced ruler.

While both Ezran and Aanya are very similar in their situations in that both are orphans and child monarchs of their respective kingdoms, in their personalities and points of view they are extremely different. 

While both are compassionate and peaceful rulers who want to make the best decisions they can for their respective kingdoms, Ezran is a ruler that makes decisions with his heart. While this makes him a kind and just ruler, it also makes him naive and overly trusting of others to the point where people could take advantage of his merciful demenour and use his trusting nature against him.

Aanya however is a ruler who prefers to make decisions with her head. She is cautious and not quick to make judgements until she has all the facts. While this makes her a wise and sensible queen, it may also make her cynical and supicious of others. Due to the many assassination attempts on her life, it’s not suprising that Aanya is not so quick to put trust in others, still it is also doesn’t help her in making deeper and more intimate connections with others.

I believe that both Ezran and Aanya have a lot to learn from each other, both as monarchs and as individuals. Aanya being a more cautious individual would encourage Ezran to think through all his decisions and would encourage him not to jump on the first option that feels right. She’d encourage him to consider all the pros and cons of each decision, and therefore she would help Ezran make wiser and more rational decisions in his leadership. She could help him grow not just as a king, but as a person as well. 

Ezran on the other hand could bring out Aanya’s less serious and more playful side. He could help Aanya to laugh and have fun and remember that while she is leader of a country, she is also a person - and a young person at that. Ezran could help Aanaya to embrace the more playful side of herself, and perhaps with time he’ll soften her hard edges and bring out the more emotional, vunerable side of herself. The young king of Katolis may find Aanya’s snarky personality amusing and as a result the two could have laughs together and develop a deeper bond and trust with each other that they didn’t realise they could have.

When it comes to decisions like going to war, Ezran is a firm pacifist who refuses to put the lives of others in danger and does what he can to avoid violence and war at all costs. Aanya on the other hand is more pragmatic when it comes to war. As we’ve seen from the Season 3 finale, she’s obviously a skilled warrior who can handle herself in battle (as shown when she took down the mutated Kasef with her impressive archery skills) and therefore is obviously not against going to war if she feels there is no other choice. Out of care for her people and perhaps to save resources and men, she’ll obviously avoid going to war if it’s possible and try to rely on her diplomacy skills instead. Hopefully Ezran and Aanya would come to a respectful compromise when it comes to war. I believe both of them would want to do what’s best for protecting their people and would come up with a clever solution to create peace with their political rivals. With Aanya’s strategic mind and Ezran’s optimistic attitude, I’m sure they’d make a great diplomatic team. 

One big plus about them forming a romantic connection opens the possiblity that they could marry in the future, and as a result unite their two kingdoms of Katolis and Duren together. It could be a great political decision for both of their kingdoms, but I certainly hope that their decision to marry would be made purely out of love for each other and not simply a political match. 

I see a lot of opportunity for them in terms of developing a romantic relationship, but I could also see them simply as supportive allies and perhaps even friends. Either way, I certainly would love to see more interactions between these child monarchs in the future and see for myself which direction I think their relationship is heading. If they do fall in love though, I could see them having a similar romantic relationship to Astrid and Hiccup from the "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise.

One thing that Ezran has common with both girls is his love of sweets and baked goods. While his favourite treat is obviously jelly tarts, Ellis’s favourite treat is winter-berry pie and Aanya’s is peach and pear cobbler. If he does date either of these two girls, I wonder if he'll invite either of them to a picnic of sweet treats and perhaps even go on a tart stealing adventure with one of them in the kitchen. Adorable, funny and delicious, lol. 😆🥰
