A follower sent me this over on Instagram today to let me know the Hunger Pangs Fluff and Fangs edition was being used front and center for a marketing email they and a bunch of their friends got and how cool that was.
And while I agree that’s neat, good to know I’m hitting the algorithm enough to be included in marketing, I’m also just looking at that 99cent sign up offer knowing that it means my Audible rates are going to plummet for a bit because the way Audible works means I only get 20% of how much someone spent on accessing the book, so instead of my usual 20% of the $14.95 (because the credit isn’t worth the retail price that THEY set, just the subscription cost) I’ll be earning 20% of 99 cents which is… 19.8 cents before tax.
… yay 🫠
I really hate knowing how everything works lmao. I wish I could just enjoy knowing the audiobook is doing well enough to be used in promo. But alas.
Oh well.

AGH FASHION DESIGNER SUGURU AND MODEL SATORU W A NEW INTERN DESIGNER UNDER THEIR WING 😞😞☹️ - 🌺
WAHHHH I LOVE THIS 🥺🥺🥺 the pining and flirting and slowburn of it all… model!satoru and his favorite designer suguru geto, both of them undeniably skilled and born with an eye for fashion….. well-known and adored……..
designer!suguru who gets tasked with showing you the ropes, who’s always so patient and kind despite your inexperience. diligent with his teaching but also so laidback, so easy to talk to… he looks intimidating, but he’s so polite that you can’t help but swoon a little. and he admires your enthusiasm so much…… grows fond of you soooo quickly bc you’re just such a breath of fresh air compared to the divas he’s forced to work with all the time. he thinks you’ve got real potential and he wants to nurture it.
and ofc you end up running into model!satoru eventually…. bc he’s always hanging around suguru whenever he gets the chance. and he’s maybe a little jealous that you’re hogging so much of his personal designer’s attention, but… he also thinks you’re so cute . T_T like a little puppy following suguru around… so excited to be apart of what you’ve dreamed of for so many years……… he looks into your eyes and sees the same sparkle he had before he made it big, and it makes his heart race.
yeah . i’m just thinking abt the peaceful coffee breaks with suguru….. how he’d insist on paying for your drink, ”since he’s your senior” (he wants to be your favorite </3)…… and how he’d just be so protective over his little intern. don’t get me started on the close proximity with satoru when you’re taking his measurements, the glance and smile he sends your way during an impromptu shoot… the way he always calls for you with a sweet coo of ”how’s my favorite intern doing today?”
😔😔😔 yeahhhhhh. they make me feel ill.

eddie constantly talks about his pet ozzy, and how badass he is whilst also being the “cutest little guy”. he never specifies what type of pet he is, but steve has always just kind of assumed he was a fluffy affectionate cat with how often eddie talks about cuddling with ozzy.
oh, how wrong he was.
when he finally gets invited over to his boyfriend’s new trailer (provided by the government so they’d all keep their mouths shut) since wayne’s at work for the evening, he’s excited to meet this ozzy eddie’s so fond of. so he’s shocked when eddie opens the door with an orange snake wrapped around his hand. steve lets out a little squeak when eddie reaches forward to hug him, snake still in his hold.
“what is that?” he questions, backing away a little to be safely away from the animal. eddie just quirks a brow, and chuckles at steve’s unease.
“this is ozzy? i have told you about him, i’m sure.” he explains, and holds the snake closer to his face and further away from steve. ozzy’s tongue flicks out to touch eddie’s cheek, and he smiles happily, “you see that, stevie? ozzy’s just an affectionate little guy.”
steve sighs, and follows eddie into the trailer. he doesn’t know why he expected eddie to have a normal pet, it’s not like the metalhead is normal in any other aspect of his life.

maybe an unpopular opinion but i don’t think any of the regular g3 dolls should b exclusive to any stores that aren’t present worldwide, or have an equivalent in every country the dolls are typically sold. there’s no sense to me having dolls exclusive to american only stores, cause then that means everyone who doesn’t hav access to those stores is expected to pay a stupidly inflated price for them … like, if i want toralei, which i do, i’m looking at spending about £50 minimum - before shipping - for her. tell me that makes sense to anyone involved

Hey just wanted to let you know I don't really comment on the doll posts because it's not really my field of expertise (transmasc and tend to avoid that stuff due to bad memories of people getting me dolls and other stereotypically "girl" stuff as a kid) but I still read through them when you post them because I love the way you "review" everything.
For this last one, you imply that the eyeballs not being in the doll initially is a fairly common thing with large dolls? I'm curious why is that, do you know? Are the eyes something that could get damaged in transportation?
(Also how do you even handle putting the eyeballs in the doll's head that is so disturbing hehe...)
so im not actually huuuuuge into bjds, they tend to have their own sort of community from like playline barbies and monster highs and everything set of collectors, but its to my understanding that basically most large ball-jointed dolls focus far more on their customization aspects than these little blind boxes do.
basically, a high end bjd can be pretty costly, and there’s a ton of different artists/studios out there making custom sculpts for collectors. typically, these are bought as a nude doll with no sort of clothes or wig or anything, and the person who’s buying that doll will buy those separately. part of this customization can be custom eyes, which you put in with putty (and you can use this to do things like give them a side glance, etc)
afaik most of these dolls will include their own set of eyes, but people like to swap out the eye chips for different colors and styles as they please, so the inside of the head is basically empty with eye holes to swap out the eyes
larger dolls usually have something like this instead of the faceplates that the mini ones i have do.
but even then, it’s popular to switch out the eyes of the little dolls too! for some of them on kikagoods i’ve seen additional eye chips etc that you can get.
some of the other little ones i have actually have little paper slips inside instead, and theres already a clear layer on the head so they look like more standard inset eyes
i also have a few more standard fashion dolls that have inset eyes as well! rainbow/shadow high dolls also have them, but they instead use eye “chips” that go in the front, since they aren’t meant to be swapped out like bjd eyes. of course, customizers still find a way, but i just find it interesting that there’s so many different approaches to getting the inset eye look.
as for why i don’t have any problem putting them in, you get desensitized to the “creepy” factor of dissassembled dolls pretty quickly, especially if you like to do customization. i’ve had disembodied parts everywhere, dolls with hair drying left out around sinks with their hands removed, blank faces from taking the paint off. i think at this point i can’t really find dolls creepy anymore. sure, my family will still get jumpscared by the occasional project doll left drying in an unexpected place, but im used to it lol
