They should make open-world, maybe stylized (perhaps cell-shaded anime like BOTW) Gentleman/Phantom thief games. Ones where you can traverse the city/cities the map is full of. In it, you can...
Pick Locks
Pick Pockets
Lower yourself down from a grappling wire
Run as you are chased by police
Collect and sell artifacts
Go through a complex story
Fight (in a mostly nonlethal manner), sneak around, set traps and distractions, and generally annoy the guards, cops, and worse criminals.
Other stuff. Reblog with ideas!

Another Character; our fav Thief, Garrett
:heart eyes:
I am going through this slowly but I will get to them all!
First impression
Did you know I used to be terrified of the dark?
He cured that.
Otherwise, I... do not remember. It's been far far too long since I played the game for the first time, but considering the impression he left on me even still it must've been spectacular.
What I do vividly remember is a particular moment in Thief 2, during (I believe) the mission to infiltrate the party. You cross the roofs and there's a section where you balance over a beam and he goes "Caaareefuull." and that moment just STUCK with me.
Same with one where he says "Keep. On. Looking. The. Other. Way." and I keep thinking about these two lines so often, it's silly.
Impression now
I think of him very very fondly and frequently and it's kind of ridiculous how I have been carrying this fictional man around for so fucking long already.
Like, my impression is just: FOND. LOVE.
Favorite moment
I always played Garrett as a ghost; as a thief, not a murderer, killer, assassin. With one exception; the level where the pagan village is raided. I suppose it's more of a "head canon" moment than an actual ingame moment, but when I play games I get really invested in the lines begin to blur.
He killed every single one of those murderous bastards with his bow.
Idea for a story
When my project was still a crossover fan fiction project, Sinvik lost access to her (force) powers and was thrown into his universe be means of disposal by The Bad Guys. He was the guy who taught her that Being A Good Person can be optional and turned her from Light Side Jedi to Grey (yeah I don't care that Star Wars people foam at the mouth when they hear Grey Jedi, I didn't even know Grey Jedi).
Unpopular opinion
Garrett only exists in three Thief games. I don't know who that other dude is; but he is not Garrett.
Favorite relationship
Always OC x Canon with me. I really liked how I wrote him with Sinvik (who was still named Sadja back then) in that fic.
Favorite headcanon
He swipes up scraps of meat to feed to stray dogs and cats.

Okay but if the Mythomagic cards were so accurate about the Minotaur and his underwear, and Grover used them to “train” Percy, does that mean the satyrs designed and mass produced these cards themselves? Whose idea was it? Did they like have a big meeting about recruitment and go “What do the kids like these days? Pokey-man? Let’s make a Greek myth Pokey-man game. That’ll help,” and they interviewed a ton of campers like, “Hey, I know that time you almost got killed by a Gorgon was super traumatizing, but we just wanna make sure our cute little card design is accurate. Were her snakes green or purple? Also, would you classify her as Class A or B in power?” Did the campers get super into it too? Was it a group effort? Do they have to update the decks regularly based on new information? Which generation of Mythomagic cards did Percy use? Is the OG packaging limited edition? How popular are they in normal life? Do they get covered by the Mist, and people like Rachel think they’re just insane when they see Mythomagic in a shop window, and everyone else thinks it’s a Pokémon deck? Are there satyrs out in the world running game shops, and whenever someone asks about Mythomagic, they’re like “Do you come from a single-parent household, and also do you want to be friends?” How deEP DOES THIS GO??

original thief series basso & garrett :)
ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels
there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.
anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.
