The Chancellor was going to know. He would hear about all of this immediately. Nothing stayed secret for long. He would hear about all of this, and he would punish Fox, he would punish him for being weak, insubortinate and defective, he would send Fox back to Kamino, and they would finally cut him open and into pieces like the failed experiment that he was- He startled when Pinch grabbed him by the shoulders. "Commander", Pinch called. He sounded like he was on the other side of the room, instead of just a few inches off of Fox's face. "Commander, I need you to breathe, please?" Fox was breathing. He could feel his chest heaving. Senator Organa appeared into his field of view as well, then. He didn't come as close as Pinch, but he was close enough that Fox thought that he could almost feel his presence there, like some sort of wall, a wall that would shield him from the rest of the Galaxy and anyone in it that ever wanted to harm him. Fox breathed in deep. His ears had been ringing, which he noticed only when it started to subside. Immediately all the blood in his body rushed to his face, aided by shame. It wasn't an actual claim. It wasn't real. Why was his body treating it like such?

Honestly i tried to get into star rail but it is soooo hard, mainly because i don't understand how to make my characters stronger and i looooathe the combat system... I liked the "gods" lore at the beginning but i started skipping dialog and now i dont understand anything anymore😂 if you do understand it please enlighten me with the plot hahahaha

levelling up and ascending characters + light cones and relics is pretty much exactly the same as it is in genshin, so i had that experience already and wasn’t surprised. the combat bores me to fucking tears honestly, and is probably my least favourite part of the game so far. i do think that the writing in hsr is better than the writing in genshin (at least, up to the point where i am in the game!) so it’s got that going for it.

there is a TON of dialogue in these games lmao. in the most general sense, the main character miraculously has a stellaron sealed away inside of them, and they along with the passengers aboard the astral express are on a mission to seal stellarons. there’s a Big Bad guy who is mentioned to be collecting stellarons for an unknown but presumably evil purpose. then there’s the antimatter legion, who apparently just crave the destruction of everything ever, and i’m not 100% sure how they tie into this story LMAO

this scene takes place sometime after philippi, and was originally just some historical fiction I was writing last year for fun focusing on antony, octavian, and agrippa. then I got stressed out watching the new season of a show, started drawing while it played, and ended up turning it into a short comic lmao

the dialogue in this scene is referencing this bit out of Suetonius:

FINALLY DAY 10!!! (sorry for not doing stuff for days 8+9 but i got busy and demotivated so idk if I'll get around to finishing those ever 😔 i wanna finish the lotus drawing at least but it'll for sure be late) ANYWAYS chose Zero for today :-) I know I drew Akane here but it is meant to be her as Zero (like, drawing her in the Zero get-up would not work with this I feel lmao). I've always been a huge MCR/Gerard Way fan, so I listened to Hesitant Alien practically religiously back in middle school. and then I played 999 for the first time, and then I listened to the album again, and realized one of the songs on it, Zero Zero, fits Akane-as-Zero so fucking well. like not every single lyric, but it's enough that I will always associate the song with her now!!

i spent a good 2 days giggling about this to friends. i cant tell if ur a curious caps fan, a person who knows me from my other teams, a disgruntled kings fan (i’ve mostly ruled this out because im pretty sure i know all of the active ones on here) or WHAT. but i’m laughing. the tone of this ask is hilarious and vaguely accusatory but i will take it in good faith and answer <3 tl;dr yes and no. he’s better than people think he is rn, but he’s likely never going to live up to the potential of his tools unless something . idk. recalibrates his entire being. who knows!

i was working on something longer and more complex but i thought about it for more than 5 seconds and i REFUSE to go hockey-bro mode and pull out the microstats and i don’t wanna make this into a full on PLD manifesto. so. caps girlies (gn) HERE are your adoption papers under the cut!

if you are looking at pierre luc dubois who is 6’4 + 220lb and thinking “Oh he’s a power forward” i have to inform you he is in fact THEEE smallest mouse to ever play hockey in the whole world and in all of history. he sips nectar out of a thimble and sleeps curled up in a match box and goes fishing in a boat made from nutshells and twigs . he’s big, but he sort of plays small.

this is not necessarily a bad thing — he relies on foot speed and skill over hitting.

he can throw hits but prefers to stick check. he leverages his big frame to guard the puck and to defend, and it makes him simultaneously VERY effective and very much what i like to call a Nexus Of Crime. he is either drawing ten thousand penalties because people have to do something to stop him from driving the net with speed OR he is taking ten thousand penalties because he gets eager in the corners.

PLUS he’s huge and refs do just assume he’s committing a crime when they can’t see what’s going on <3 hence, Nexus Of Crime! if there’s a penalty he’s probably involved LMAO

not a “dirty” player by any means. not physical unless he decides he wants to. and there is no violence inside of him unless he’s deeply horsebonded to his team <- IMPORTANT re; playoffs aspirations. you won’t see him put himself on the line simply for the love of the game, he HAS to be committed to the team.

to be committed to his team… i’m honestly not sure what that takes. i’d guess a combination of knowing his role on the ice and in the locker room (this was very unclear on lak) consistency of messaging from coaches (also seemed to be an issue on lak)

i know nothing about caps coaching or management or the team vibes but i’m sure you can fix him <3 i’m ready to fall in love and ride this team to the sunset

this failhorse will NOT shoot the puck and if he does it will be the saddest soggiest most pathetic shot you’ve ever seen. you will tear your hair out in chunks if you watch him expecting an elite goalscorer.

he’s a pass-first guy. likes to drop pass! likes to drive play from the middle but is also capable of getting pucks off the boards. he needs a finisher on his wing. i could pull up stats here, there are stats to be pulled up, but i know this in my HEART from watching dozens of kings games: he would have had 10-15 more points easily if he wasn’t stapled to the 3rd line and had better finishers. many times i watched him tee up a very good opportunity only for his guy to miss the net or fan or just get knocked off the puck

individually, he thrives in front of the net. his ass is fat and he’s about to use it to screen the goalie. hes good at catching loose pucks in the crease to send them home <3 see his performance at worlds. he scored basically all of his goals right up there!!

most media coverage/narratives will tell you his point production dropped off bc of effort (which is true) but even the MOST resentful kings watchers will say pld wasn’t given his best shot playing with inexperienced+fringe nhlers, being line shuffled the moment he got a bit comfortable, and also not getting ANY net front time on the lak pp. i factor this into all my judgements of his performance.

He’s def earned his diva rep LMAO!! this is personal opinion here but he seems like a sensitive and easily rattled little clam… like he will have a couple of bad shifts and if there’s nobody there to shake him out of it he’ll lose his grasp on the game and play like shit <3 a rolling joke on kingstwt was figuring out which PLD we were getting that game, and you could tell by his 5th if he was switched on or off!!

they hate him for this but EYE think this is nothing new for athletes and if he can consistently stay in the zone he’ll probably be pretty good. mental fortitude of a wet tissue my beloved….

moving onto the Vibes section!! he was always good humoured in media availability and didn’t shy away from scrums even when public opinion soured against him and critiques of both his hockey and his character had reached a fever pitch. i like this about him. he always gave authentic answers and tried his best to accomodate them, and never hid behind his captains.

he gets along quite well with teammates despite the narratives. no seriously!! some of the the kings had a hang out during off-season right before they went to worlds!! there’s bisexual lighting!!!!

there’s interviews from old jets teammates that are just like. “he used to turn up at my house with his dog and text IM HERE with no warning and that’s how we became friends” or “his obsession with euro soccer teams bewitched me”. he had control of the aux cord. he was a den mother and planned group gatherings. a genuine sweetheart to every teammate he’s ever had!!

I don’t think he’s some. idk. secret 100 point producing star 1C. but i truly believe with the right environment he’ll probably hit 60 points again.

I was thinking about Albert Wesker with Fem!Reader being a poor woman; from a negligent family, with a disastrous job and in general, a miserable life. He takes the same simple interest in her as he did in the later mother of his child (if we're talking about the canonical story of the game), but what if Fem!Reader rejects him? How would Albert react to a woman saying 'no' to him after he offers her financial security, sex and money?

I have a little theory that he would have sexist ideas about women like Fem!Reader, who aren't looking for something better for themselves—but the truth is that his ego was bruised, and eventually he is drawn to her even more strongly. Such is the intensity of his longing for this woman that Albert questions whether it would be right to continue, considering that he gets bored of people quickly.

In a nutshell? I'm thirsty for a pathetic and perverse Wesker, desperate to conquer and possess a woman who isn't the least bit interested in him. He would become more and more insistent, bordering on insanity and obsession for her.

Ok no I love this idea too much. I apologize beforehand if it feels a little rushed, but I hope you’ll still enjoy!

You were nothing but a disappointment to all of your surroundings. Since you were a child, you were abused, mostly mentally by both of your parents. You were unwanted, someone who wasn’t supposed to be alive at all. Growing up poor, with no friends or family to support you made you depend on no one but yourself and as the time went on, you ran away from your abusive parents to begin your own life with high hopes of money, partner and success. Your mind was filled with visions that were not only unreal for someone like you, but also difficult to achieve for a regular person.

It was no surprise you ended up on the streets, thrown out of the school where you purposely failed every single subject only to not see your terrible classmates ever again. It was a terrible sight, truly, even for passersby, but no one as much as stood up for you or gave you any sort of financial support. That was until another young woman acknowledged the only thing that you had - beauty. And so you ended up being a prostitute at just 16 years old.

You felt pathetic, especially the first few years in your newfound job that did you no good. It was a traumatic experience to say the least and you could barely afford the rent by yourself. You had to live with a few other girls to keep on surviving like that. No matter how hard you tried, how beautiful you looked, there was no one else to buy you except for the creeps and drug dealers that were desperate for a woman to warm their bed just for a night. You spent most of the time in other people’s places, in uncomfortable positions, hell once a guy even attempted to lock you in his basement.

You had to improve yourself, to learn how to stand up for yourself, to stay protected and with the help of the girls who were doing it for longer than you have - you managed it. You’ve become a confident woman, no matter how miserable you felt at times, no matter how disgusting a man that chose you was, you went with it. You became good at one thing finally, that being seducing men and stripping them off all their money.

It came to the point where you were able to choose your customers as more handsome men approached you, whether the age was appropriate, you cared not. What became important to you was their treatment. They had to respect you before and after the intercourse. That was your only requirement.

But little did you know as you were walking through the streets of the city, pretending to be someone you were not, you caught an eye of the devil himself. Not only were you too beautiful for a man’s eye to miss, but the way you acted, talked so highly as if you weren’t a literal whore to be sold… It made a certain man more than interested to find out just who the hell you are.

Wesker was curious about you, truly, yet he soon got to know the truth. He was quick to find out your true nature, that you’re just pretending. Something in him just wanted to test the waters around you, to just play with you a little.

He’s found his way to you, paying you for a night, for the entire night. You couldn’t say no to a man like him, so handsome, beautiful and yet mysterious. He caught your eye as well, just as he thought he would. Not only that, he proved to be more than just a good lover, bringing you pleasures you haven’t even dreamt of, especially when you were the one getting money for it. Wesker definitely made sure to shower you with attention that night, he did it purely for himself though, to satisfy his ego, to have you all over him the next day, to wrap you around his finger just like all the previous women in his life. It was nothing but a sport to him.

You’ve fallen asleep as the morning slowly approached and when you woke up, he was already dressed again, sitting on a chair he pulled beside the bed to watch you the entire time, observing, thinking�� He’s grown to a conclusion that he could definitely get something more from you. He’d come up with an offer he was almost certain you couldn’t turn down.

"Good morning, dearheart,” his blue eyes bore into your sleepy ones when you opened them, the unexpected sound of his voice nearly making you jump. You blinked a few times, rubbing your eyes as you slowly sat up.

"Morning…” you mumbled and just tried to realize what really happened last night. It was tough after how much he exhausted you… It was unusual as barely any man you’ve been with managed to go for more than just two rounds. And that goes without even making you come at all. Wesker on the other hand… "You know you could’ve left, right?”

He gives you a small smile when you mention it. "I’m not that type of a guy.”

You chuckle at that. "You must be pretty rich then.” And then you get up, collecting all your clothes from the ground. Only when you go to pick up your bra that was laying by his feet, he catches you by the wrist, making you look at him.

"Aren’t you tired of doing this?” he questions.

"Doing what?” You answer with yet another question and forcefully rip your hand away from him, finally picking up the last piece of clothing.

"Selling yourself.”

You almost laugh out loud while you’re getting dressed, ignoring how his eyes keep slipping from your face to your body as it’s still not completely covered. "You haven’t paid me enough to answer personal questions.”

"Would you answer them if I offered you a better life, then?”

You raise an eyebrow in curiosity. "And that would be?”

He stands up finally, walking up to you, towering over you and only now do you realize how big he really is compared to you. Slightly scary even. He reaches out his hand to touch you, caressing one of your cheeks softly, then tracing your jaw only to grip your chin tightly when he reaches it. "You are quite a unique woman, I must admit. I’ve not laid my eyes upon a more beautiful one, to say the least. What would you say to an exchange of services, hm? You could easily earn a home, everything that you’d want or need and maybe if you’d be good enough, you’d earn a husband as well.”

Your eyes widen in shock. You just stare at him for a moment, trying to process what he’s just told you. And then it hits you. The urge to laugh, at him. So you do, pushing his hand away.

His expression changes to a confused one as you seem to make fun of him. And he doesn’t take it lightly.

"That’s definitely going to be a no,” you snort, not taking his offended look to heart.

"That wasn’t a joke.”

"I’m sorry, but you must be delusional to think I’d ruin my life further more for a man I barely know. You may be good looking, but that doesn’t make you special,” you finally calm down a little, but there’s still a smile tugging at your lips even though you try your best to suppress it.

"Ruin? I’m offering you help, you, a literal prostitute. What other opportunity do you think you’ll get?” He’s getting pretty pissed and it’s more than noticeable.

"I don’t need one. I’m rather going to continue selling my body than giving someone a soul to keep,” you finally get serious also. You turn on your heel, grabbing the money he left for you on the nightstand, planning to leave.

"You’re going to regret that! Enjoy your pitiful life as a hooker!” He shouts behind you, with no intention in stopping you. He’s shocked, pissed, even embarrassed slightly. How could you say no to him? How could you prefer a routine such as atrocious as yours over living with him? He didn’t get it. But he still let you go. For now.

Days passed, weeks even and you haven’t heard of him, to your surprise. Although he’s thought of you, repeating that dialogue in his head all over again every single day. He’s not special? Him? Do you really think you’re better than him? He couldn’t get it through his head. You weren’t better in anything, you were just a poor woman with no proper life or education. Wesker couldn’t get it off his mind, your rejection should’ve been a sign that he could move on with his life like nothing happened. He hasn’t spent that much on you anyway… But for some wicked reason, he couldn’t move on. A woman like you rejected him, how fucking embarrassing. He wouldn’t let this slide.

And he didn’t. Two months after that incident, you’d come back to your apartment on fire, getting to know all your friends that lived with you died inside and couldn’t be saved. That there was not a chance for them to make it out. You’ve lost your all. No one was able to tell how it happened, whether it was accident or not. Wesker took care of it. No one would know. He knew it’d break you even more, losing the little you had, knowing you’d cry so badly you’d lose yourself in the grief. You had nowhere to go, once again, no one to talk to… And he’d wait only a while till he’d be back with his offer, knowing you wouldn’t turn him down this time. The suspicion be damned, he didn’t care if you knew it was him. He wanted to stay true to his words and oh did you regret rejecting him the first time…

Hi, I was wondering something. Can you maybe give me a quick summary of what your fic ‘Kill Switch’ is all about? And where I can read it? :)

Heck yeah, totally!!! :D So to sum it up (somewhat) briefly, Vanellope finds out that King Candy is still alive because he’s been so deeply entangled in Sugar Rush’s code for so many years that the game thinks he belongs there now, and so has been respawning him when he dies. However, it hasn’t been respawning him properly, so he stays horribly injured and in Cy-bug form, trapped in Diet Cola Mountain and all that jazz. Vanellope, though still VERY much mistrustful of him of course, figures that leaving him to be basically tortured in a painful death/respawn cycle for however long is kinda, like… way too cruel for her liking, so she decides to help him out and use heal kits to patch him up, but like, slowly, so that she can figure out how to deal with this whole “murderous a-hole still alive and kicking” situation. 😂 Candybug starts off sorta playing along with her because she’s the only ticket he has to get out of this stupid mountain lol

Unfortunately for them, it’s discovered that another unplugged villain (Sinistar) had heard through arcade gossip about the whole ordeal with the Cy-bug infestation of Sugar Rush and the monstrosity Turbo turned into when eaten by one, so he intentionally sneaks into Hero’s Duty and gets himself eaten by a Cy-bug to become a hybrid as well, and starts game-jumping all over the place to eat weapons and characters for more power-ups. At that point, things start snowballing out of control with Sinistar rampaging all over the place, and so Vanellope, Candybug, Ralph, Felix, and Calhoun are all basically forced to team up because if they don’t work together on this, Sinistar will 100% without a doubt kill all of them, lmao. So it’s basically just a lot of Candybug being a major asshole while everybody else has to very reluctantly put up with it because he’s literally the only person who can 1v1 Sinistar in emergency situations, also meanwhile Vanellope is trying VERY hard to figure him out and reign in his assholery as much as she can, lmao (and somewhat succeeding in very small areas, but, y’know, it’s Turbo. He’s a massive bitch who is very unwilling to change. 😂) Also he’s been going through a bit of an ongoing mental health crisis/depression spiral the whole time due to his world constantly falling apart around him SO THAT’S BEEN FUN

Fuck it. Let me just vomit my personal AU abt Pressure this ONE time and never post for another year. Not gonna throw in my pathetic 5 OCs into the ramble though. Mostly just thoughts on Sebastian and his dumb lil downfall haha dum dum.

So my brain always considers the fact Pressure is a game loop. You die and you get sent back to the start. You can succeed and get the crystal, get outta there. But you can also always do that again. Sebastian always acknowledges your death, always acknowledges and has been able to differentiate the first one to the different ones you have after.

Same with any friends you play with, other expendables. They died many times like you, gotten the crystal and escaped so many times before. That is pretty much the core to my AU.

Sebastian never stops you from getting the crystal because he doesn’t have to worry about it ever completely lost. A new run will start, there’s always another chance. In this AU, he’s stuck in what is practically an endless timeloop due to the supernatural properties of the Blacksite. Once he entered, with such prolonged exposure—He’s become a part of it, essentially. He still hinders you back because the blaring red screaming of the alarms are hurting his eyes and a fucking nuisance to his ears. Even though the dread of losing is all has left him, the anxiety still lingers on.

But he’s a stubborn one. The sensation of dread when expendables took the crystal for the first time, when he tried to stop and killed them—when it just kept happening. Always scavenging, surviving, squeaking through it all. The more times expendables escaped his grasp and got into the submarine, the doom of not making it time? That was a fairytale now. Sebastian knows as of now UrbanShade won’t be able to retrieve the crystal successfully—as long as this timeloop where everyone’s memory is maintained, there won’t be successful “true” attempts.

But unfortunately for Sebastian nor any entities down here, the timeloops binds them to this cursed fate of roaming what is essentially a labyrinth of a flooded hell. Sebastian won’t be able to escape, having filled Painter with false promises of freedom whether he intended it or not.(sorry Painter Sebs dngaf abt you in my book💀) Sebastian is a man in denial, dragging a false hope that he can escape a timeloop. Even as he gains new knowledge, he will keep scavenging for data for an answer. Always roaming, always restless. So in a nutshell he’s like William Afton in UCN but he’s innocent(abt the 9 murders) and he wasn’t the father lmao.

I guess other thoughts now. I like to think personally Painter is like a teenager. The way he speaks feels like a kid to me—A fatherless kid, literally. He’s emotionally vulnerable and naive, and I think he looks up to Sebastian like how a kid sees a superhero. The friendship is onesided, and Sebastian takes full advantage of that admiration in question. Painter believes in Sebastian’s lies of freeing him, that promise keeps him lingering even as his files corrupt and his AI breaks down slowly.

Oh, and the thought about Mr.Lopee. He gives me an idea that he was some old business partner or acquaintance of Mr.Shade for sure. Something along the lines of some muddiness latervm, but carrying respect. I think Mr.Lopee personally wants to mess with Mr.Shade as a ghost now. So he helps the player but also helps Sebastian out, truly neutral and trying to see what brings him the most entertaining outcome. I like to also think he’s the one betting with Sebastian on which expendable lives and what not, hence the “you owe me..” voice line from Sebastian.

I don’t have too many thoughts on Navi. She doesn’t have a established personality much yet but I’ll probably have more thoughts on her when she has actual voice lines in the next update.

Dreams of an Absolution Analysis!!!

ok, it's taken a bit to get around to doing this but I'm doing it now. I rarely do these so bear with me because analyses are not my Thang, so to speak. Analysis under the cut because I already know this is gonna be a long post LMAO. And for people who don't know me, I've played 0 sonic games where Silver makes a lore-relevant appearance (except for the first 5 minutes of Sonic and the Black Knight but he's not even in those 5 minutes). This is entirely what I can infer about him based on someone telling me his lore in a nutshell and reading into this song. <3 sorry if I say anything blatantly disproven by canon

So there's a pretty obvious implication that the vocals in the song are from Silver himself. That's the common consensus from what I've seen. With this in mind we can infer that the song itself is his own thoughts.

The first verse seems to be him commenting on how trivial most people's problems are in today's society. "All your troubles, are they all what they seem?" To me, that's him basically saying "you're getting worked up over nothing". And it makes sense- for Silver, who comes from a world in constant hell, getting worried over losing an item or something is really trivial. He's not quite realising that it's the safety of the modern world that allows people to be worried about stuff like that, because his own stress over the future clouds his vision a little. He doesn't realise most people don't care too much about stuff like that, because he's constantly either alone or in the company of people like Sonic and Blaze who are usually in a similar stressful situation. (He's very rarely seen in casual contexts, from what I know.) That statement is backed up by the next two lines. "Look around you, then you may realise all the preachers, all with their lies." If I were to reword it with the context I've just applied, it sounds a little like he's saying "stop worrying about trivial things and start worrying about the corrupt liars that are in power." Or something like that. He's directing the attention to what he considers a problem that affects the overall future of society. Which is a very Silver thing to do, worry about problems a little too big for a 14-year-old kid- psychokinesis powers or not- to actually help with.

The first bridge highlights a trope break that I really like about Silver- he knows the future, yes, but he's not a fortune-teller. He's working with the knowledge he has to make a hopefully positive change, but he doesn't actually know how what he does will affect the future. And he doesn't know that much about the past he's in, or even anything at all- after all, he afaik had no way of getting history education. It's like knowing something happened in the middle ages that caused all our problems here, but knowing jack all about the middle ages. The people in the present have a more informed idea of how what they do could change the past, because they know more about what's going on. Hence, "I might know of the future, but you still control the past." Only the people living in the present know if they'll be able to stick together through the hardships ("if you'll be together") and if what they really have a chance ("if we shall last").

The second verse annoys me a little (i know you're allowed to not be grammatically correct in music but still) but I'll do my best regardless. It does stump me a little, I will admit. To me, he seems to be asking if the people from the present also have regrets, and if given the chance, would they go back and fix a mistake. The exact wording he uses is faux pas, which is used to describe some incredibly embarrassing social mistake- the type to keep you up at night cringing, y'know? Which is interesting, because the first verse indicates that Silver doesn't particularly care for worrying about trivial stuff like that. In fact a good chunk of his character is often taken as disrespectful because he doesn't worry about making these kinds of mistakes as much as he should. (Considering he knows he's in the right and doesn't expect people not to believe him.) Perhaps he does worry about it and wishes he could fix mistakes of his own. Or it could be read as a curiosity towards people in the past who do worry about things like that.

After that we have another bridge that just about carries the same meaning as the first, although it does mark the beginning of the song focusing a little more on the "now" and less on the future or the past.

The chorus is the piece that I think conveys the true tragedy of Silver's character, and that tragedy is why he's my favourite. To understand the chorus we have to understand what an Absolution is. An absolution is by definition a release from someone's guilt, obligation or even punishment. In a Christian context, it tends to refer to release from sins. (Thankfully we don't have to worry about Christianity here.) If we reword the song with that in mind, we realise that what Silver dreams of is release. Over and over again he is tasked with fixing the future- iirc there's an implication somewhere that he's been reborn several times to fix it in different ways but I'm not sure about that- but every time he resets the timeline he dies, because he's not needed in a world where the future is peaceful. Thus, he never gets to live in the future he fights for. What he dreams of is the chance to not have to go back in time and fix it, to just be able to be born in a peaceful world and live his life without that pressure. He wants freedom from his metaphorical chains, from the duty that ties him down. But every time it stays the same- his dream stays a dream, and no matter how many times he saves people's lives from a broken timeline, in the end the cycle just starts back up again and he never really gets to see the fruits of his labour.

After the first chorus is where things start to get depressing. I'd almost call this song vent art in a way, considering how it almost shamelessly exposes the tragedy of Silver's character and how he feels about his constant fighting. The third verse expresses this, asking if "you" (which I am assuming is the people he knows- team sonic and all that) dream of who they could be at night, before saying that "happiness lies trapped in misery". For Silver, who as previously stated is in a constant sisyphian struggle of fixing the future and then dying without knowing if he did it right, it makes sense that he sees happiness as being surrounded by misery- he gets very few chances to be properly happy and is often depicted as a bit of a problem-finding machine with zero chill settings. He says he's an optimist, but there's some clear pessimism here, which makes me think he does get more than a little hopeless sometimes. He definitely doesn't have the most stable mental state, I'll say that.

I wouldn't normally say much about the bridge but I do want to point out how he says "and who knows what of our future, we can all try to change the past" here. The focus is now on whoever he's speaking to. He's seemingly taking himself out of the equation by referring to the fact that no one really knows how what they'll do will change things. That pessimism comes back here, to me, in these lines, as if he's saying "we can try to change the past but it could all be for nothing".

The rest of the song is repeats of the chorus and smaller lines that I can't really infer anything substantial from other than what they're directly saying. So I guess that's it. I can't even tldr this so if anyone was hoping for that... Sorry, I'm not great at summarising. Not great at analysis either and this probably doesn't even count as analysis by definition anyway. But still. Just with a basic nutshell understanding of his lore, I've managed to infer a lot from this song, so I'm curious to see what someone more experienced with Silver thinks!!! I will admit though he's been around for literally longer than I have (he debuted in 2006, maybe 5, right?) so this song has probably been analysed to death before, but I still wanted to share my thoughts. 💛Thanks for getting this far byeeeee

If BB! Bumble doesn’t die like in canon, how does her life end up going / being like?

I need to make the summary nicer, but for now I've changed Gray Wing out for Bright Storm so it should be accurate and a simple intro to her new role.

But in a nutshell;

ThunderClan forms in opposition to Tall Shadow cruelly exiling her.

Bumble, self-proclaimed "master of three languages", is invaluable to the budding Clan for her ability to translate with the River Kingdom and Wind Coalition

This opens up new allies to the underdog Clan, which they desperately need after burning a bridge with ShadowClan over Bumble's kittens later.

Bumble plays a HUGE part in the story. She's a really important character to BB!DOTC actually!

Over time, as more cats spread across the Clans and the languages influence each other, Bumble is needed less. Thunderstar himself eventually picks up a significant amount of Parkmew to speak with his ally, King Riverstar, directly.

It was very painful to her, when that started happening. Bumble talks a big game about herself, but is actually quite self-conscious and felt like she was losing her "purpose."

But... she was able to find comfort in the knowledge it was self-doubt, and not anything real. ThunderClan loves her. Thunderstar didn't make his Clan because she was an asset, he did it because she's his friend.

Eventually she is the mother of the next Clan leader. Owlstar is her baby, she's his other mom.

I also am fixing to have something going on between Star Flower and Bumble lmao. But we'll see.

wakatoshi being the crowned prince by king’s favor makes sense — he’s the most responsible and with the newly added info that rin isn’t the kings biological son, it’s obvious the king would have wanted to be preceded by someone of his own blood even if it wasn’t an official crowned prince. a male born to a concubine may still become an heir if there is no other option iirc.

oooh yes this!! especially because I mentioned before that ushijima is the favorite son since his mother was the one that the king really liked!

“It was all my Mother’s plan to put me on the throne, and I accepted because she promised I could make you my concubine!” this was from rin in chapter 1. the queen was so adamant about rin becoming the king that she made promises out of desperation, her son becoming king would mean she is still protected by the royal law and even if it had gotten out that rintarou isn’t the late king’s biological son, he’d already have the highest rank of authority. the queen was desperate to keep her title and i guess the benefits of being royalty? or maybe she has nowhere else to go. the more i reread, the more i realise — yuzuru and the queen aren’t as similar as i thought. they’re the same side of different coins, yes they were both cheated on and their husbands ended up impregnating other women, but yuzuru would NEVER be desperate for a royal title like the queen is, like that fuckass eyeball mfer is.

right again, shhh anon! the queen really has taken measures to ensure she’d keep her title as queen because it comes with a lot of privilege, and like that cersei lannister scene, “power is power.” and yeah!! yuzuru would never be desperate for royalty and wealth because she already grew up very privileged and has loving parents, so yuzuru pre-marriage really won the lottery in life. but here’s the thing – the queen’s background wasn’t really divulged, but I will say that she wasn’t poor or struggling like eyeball either. in a nutshell, she really is just greedy LMAO

chapter 2!

‘Princess Iris played the naive part well of concealing her feelings’ it should’ve been obvious from the start, iris never loved anyone really, she loved being loved, but to her everything was an act to keep her afloat, bro actually get me in the ring with her i need to fight this bitch atp.

“you had to choose someone with the power to tear the family apart as soon as she finds out about your affair? I would not take her wrath lightly.” i mentioned this quote in another theory, but i think the foreshadowing was just really well done. i also think it helps highlight the difference between iris and yuzu, like iris was able to make rin believe she was everything he needed to love, she played the part of the heartbroken lover well. yuzu turned her sadness into power and motivation, she knows she’s capable of more than just manipulating the men around her. iris is a performer, she spends her free time being a puppeteer. yn spends her time playing the game of chess that the queen has set up, and i fr believe she’s going to have a checkmate soon.

HELL YEAH. iris loves being loved! she grew up having none of that, and when she became princess, she felt like she was becoming the exact opposite of what she believed – someone great, someone worthy of adoration. AGSHJKA BUT NO WORRIES I CAN GET YOU IN THE RING WITH HER. OOOHHH YES LIKE that’s a really good analysis actually – iris is a performer and a great actor, but yuzuru isn’t. while iris likes to flaunt to the people of what she has to prove a point, yuzuru prefers to have her own way by working behind the scenes (much like how the queen does, she keeps things very subtle but also will not hesitate to go out with a big bang if need be. iris isn’t like that. she’s much more straightforward and not that much of a strategist, we only saw her pull out the big guns from chapter 18 when she also broadcasted that public announcement to make rin a target of the government.

“I know there are no limits to your actions if it means protecting your power and wealth.” this was said to the queen iirc, and again THE FORESHADOWINGGGG. hindsight is truly a blessing

‘Your loneliness was one of the reasons you fell madly in love with the Crown Prince.’ yuzuru uses her loneliness to bond with people, iris uses her loneliness to use people. it’s why iris and suna don’t work well. they’re both people who see loneliness as a reason to be greedy and use those around them to fulfil their emotional needs, and how will those needs be met when they have nothing emotional to give to each other? whereas yuzuomi, both use their loneliness to form a connection and proper bond. or maybe it’s just cuz they’re actually normal humans who have functioning brain cells and don’t live in “me me me” land like ipiss. (rin gets a slight pass cuz he was essentially raised to be selfish and alone as crowned prince)

yuzuru uses her loneliness to bond with people, iris uses her loneliness to use people. OMG YES. A HUNDRED PERCENT YES. iris and suna see their loneliness as something that highlights what they’re lacking in, and it makes them want to take and take, while yuzuru sees her loneliness as a space to be filled and shared with someone else. that’s why yuzuomi works so well – they see that they have spaces in their heart left to be filled, and they welcome love with open arms <3 me me me land like ipiss IM CRYING AGHSJAA

‘You were confused what to feel—disgusted that she thought she could fool you into thinking her husband would be the father when the Prince was rumored to be rarely at home, or utterly mortified with dread over the possibility her husband was not the father.’ clocked it from chapter two, iris being rin’s baby momma was foreshadowed 🗣️🗣️

YEAHHH THE FORESHADOWING IS THERE also CAN I JUST SAY I’m so happy you went back to read the first chapters and noticed all these little things because I was actually trying my best to drop hints here and there that can all be connected to the latest updates and to have someone notice those details… I’m so so happy, you have no idea😭💓

“Royal marriages either happen to form alliances [or] hide a revolting scandal” this is where iris’ family comes in, i 100% believe they used sensitive information to get iris married in. im thinking her family were the original royals in itachiyama (the broken down castle) when it was still connected to inarizaki, and the queen could’ve had to give in, as a way to stop a war from breaking out between the two countries, icepole also referred to her marriage as being “forced, to stop [their] countries from going to war”…. so there’s that, but i do also believe they used rintarou’s status as an illegitimate child as the main bribe. which i also feel like is yuzu’s motivation to publish the article, cuz wdym you’re gonna threaten my husbands peace and identity for your own selfish gain? she got me sooo fucked up. but that begs the question… what is in that article? defamation? an allegation of treason?

ICEPOLE AGAHJSK okay so here’s the thing – we all know that inarizaki and itachiyama were originally one kingdom when a faction decided to split apart and be independent. however, they all still share the same land/country in a way, and itachiyama was richer when it came to natural resources, while inarizaki was more advanced in technology and society overall. the two countries have a peace treaty that they can equally benefit from one another, but as time went on, inarizaki’s monarchs were failing in their ruling hence the economic problems that were discussed around chapter eight or so, and it’s a problem that was attempted to be solved by having iris and kiyoomi marry because the royal family felt that they needed itachiyaman representatives within the crown to show that they are all “still as one.” it worked for a little bit, and it did stop the two countries from going to war (although it was mostly inarizaki being desperate because they needed itachiyama more than itachiyama needed them), buttttt it was still complicated because itachiyama was weirded out that iris (who was supposed to be their princess, too) never visited them, and they felt like she was never really a good rep for them

“Prince Kiyoomi is not the type of man to be reckless and drag himself into scandals,” but he defo cares enough about his brothers to sacrifice his freedom in order to protect them. or maybe he got the short end of the stick and had to take one for the team cuz he’s a fancy farm boy from itachiyama💀

he got the short end of the stick, unfortunately *sobs* the king mostly keeps his conquests his conquests within his kingdom but when he saw kiyoomi’s mother… he just couldn’t help himself, and when he was born, the king thought, “wait, this boy can actually be of use.”

chapter 3.

“Would you rather me impregnate a woman purely for that reason? To father a child I was not ready to have? To bear such the burden of the Crown onto a young boy who was born not because his parents wanted to love him, but rather because I am someone who ‘had to fulfill my duty’?” unironically, that’s exactly what he did. in his mission to rid iris of her loneliness, he impregnated her with a child he was not ready to have.

“And sometimes a lowly Prince must be smart enough to turn away from matters that do not concern him, lest he wishes to be exiled from the only place that puts food in his mouth,” rintarou is going to lose it all. i think the way dtd is going to end will be something like this: rin and his mother lose their titles, or well…. rin steps down, he has growth as a person and learns that the materialistic life and more power than you could ever imagine just… isn’t worth losing your humanity over. or maybe he does it for yn, but i do think he would step down. a motivation to step down as king / crowned prince is the fact that his mother lied, and rintarou realises that after only ever being used as a chess piece for his mother, a tool for her to use to give herself an advantage - after realising he was never his own person but a doll that sat pretty, only ever being dressed up and thrown around, no aspirations for himself other than what he’s been fed to desire… he takes control of his life and gets the ultimate revenge.

EEEEE YOU PREDICTED THIS OMG – RIN AND THE QUEEN LOSING THEIR TITLES DID HAPPEN!! although I will not lie, I really wanted to try a different ending where Rin faces the queen head on and exposes himself as he steps down from the crown, to show the queen that he wasn’t going to continue being her puppet, and also to finally be honest for once to his wife – to let yuzuru know that their marriage was never a valid royal one, so technically, they’re annulled, and he’d hope she’d finally be free from him because rin knows that if he doesn’t do something, yuzuru would still remain devoted to him (even if she’d already fallen for omi.)

“I never knew my name could sound so important without the titles attached to it.” this kinda feeds into my idea from before!! i think this is the start of rinta realising, being a normal guy isn’t so bad. he has a name beyond the crown, he is a person beyond the roles and responsibilities he’s been forced to have. i think ushiwaka will be crowned prince and eventually king. despite being traditional, i think he would probably make an exception to the royal marriage rule for omi and yn. since their situations were very unique compared to what most royal marriages were about. yn’s technically would be allowed since rintarou isn’t even royalty technically, and id assume he’d let omi out of that marriage since iris technically threatened the royal family!

OOOH I LIKE THIS THEORY but yes!! I really do want rin to realize that being a normal guy isn’t so bad, although it’s still hard for him to accept because then it really just shows how he was a nobody who ruined yuzuru’s life, and the guilt will be something he’ll carry with him forever. not to say that he thinks he’ll have more right if he was someone wealthy, but… yeah that’s really how he thought during the first parts of dtd, that’s why he always said “as the crown prince, I don’t deserve anyone lesser than her.” for ushi though, yes I do think he can make exceptions to allow omi and yn to marry if we ever go down that route – he may be traditional but he is also such a softie deep down!

“but it was always a famous royal saying that whoever was your last dance on your debutante ball was your destined lover.” red string theory!!! MY BELOVEDDDD. this is why i think yuzutarou will have a platonic ending while kiyoomi becomes the main love interest, destiny is something akin to fate, it can’t be change no matter how much you try to manipulate the situation. just like how the queen cannot change her fate, she was destined to fail and i think we could possibly see a conversation in the future about how the universe would not allow her plan to succeed? probably from keiji. i also think she’s gonna rope keiji into her scheme tbh, get him to commit a little treachery maybe? have him be a scapegoat to protect herself and give herself a fighting chance… per chance?

ooooh also I’m sorry to disappoint in this part but when I said that the queen had plans to use Keiji, I actually wasn’t going to write any scenes about that BUT it’s true that the queen planned that if ever rin doesn’t become King, and Atsumu wasn’t approved to be King by the public, then Keiji would be her puppet King since she knows he’s ‘weak’ in terms of title and power, so Keiji “might agree” to be King 🥴

anyways that’s all for now, idk if i was cooking or just regurgitating stuff you’ve basically said 😭 i just don’t think the villains in this story are iris and suna anymore. the villains were always the villainesses - the queen and iris. theyll fight against whatever odds to change their fate, theyll use and abuse whoever they need in order to stay at the top.

Bruh i imagined such dark scene 😅😅😅 im so sorry this is very dark dhdhhshahha but imagine after rin tells yn he wants a divorce she just stays there, empty expression, her ears ringing. The word divorce repeating in her head until something shatters. Yn smiles softly but its not quite right? She moves graciously to her room and gets her gun. As graciously she walks around, searching for a certain woman in her house. White noise is all yn hears and then she finds her. BAM she shoots her gun not even hesitating, hitting iris in her stomach. Another shot echoes in the walls and then a thud as iris lifeless body falls on the ground. Rin shows right after his eyes opened wide, shocked as he hesitantly looks at his wife. Scared, hes so scared and she's there smiling oh so innocently and yet so unsettling. 'see, it took care of the problem, isnt that right? Rin' yns voice is sweet, the only thing rintarou's mind can register over the ringing of his ears.

→ I’m not really reading yandere content but does this count as yan?!?! anyways omg. also because it’s a well known fact that yn knows how to use a gun and is an exceptional shooter as well AGHSJAK. I do think this would go well on a darker theme (and ngl I have debated making dtd darker but it just!! didn’t fit the vibe LMAOOO) but also I feel like if yn really did shoot iris, she’d do it during a manic episode and then not even realize what she did until it’s too late 😭

Awww now that you talked about it i remember you briefly telling me the tooru ending and thinking about it made my tiny heart sad then and sad now 🥺 its a bitter sweet ending while they end up together and basically love each others company, yn never ends up loving him 😔 But yes! Totally just write the ending you like best (even if that shatters everyone's heart 🥹) its your story after all 😌

→ THE TOORU ENDING. I remember back in 2022 when I was still getting so much ideas on how DTD would go, my heart really wanted a tooru ending but idk AGHSJA somehow along writing it, I did not really expect to fall for Omi and have him move up a notch on my faves so him or suna have the highest possible endings </3

Theres something mmmm say usually women are in danger or miscarrying in their first trimester and iris have been looking rather sick, rin also mentioned doctor telling iris to move bla bla in case she gets sick.....
