also the fact that you can't choose not to deactivate roxy to get an alternate ending sucks. like have her know Something is wrong in the pizzaplex and if you choose not to deactivate her she mentions it to you and you help her out from under the car and she tags along with you freddy style as you investigate. have roxy mentioning weird shit make cassie put the dots together that gregory sure sounded like a computer splice earlier. have her question why the weird mask that stabbed her in the brain to implant a chip with no warning has been very insistent about turning off security systems. have her question why, if gregory asked her to meet him at the pizzaplex, he would leave behind a walkie talkie and then get himself stuck rather than just wait for her. and have /that/ be what gives you access to the scooper ending rather than just Zooming Out Some Cameras. also make the bonnie stuff actually have something to do with the plot dude people are super interested in that they wouldve been ECSTATIC if youd brought glamrock bonnie back for real, especially if hed somehow gotten revenge on monty, like say if you did get all the pat pats (dumb name btw) instead of deactivating him, you REactivate him, but have him be disoriented and need time to actually wake up so all he can do is like save cassie from monty at some point

tuna you have nooo idea how many ideas i have about yans falling for their doctors but i will give u something simple: port mafia; ie: chuuya, akutagawa, pm dazai, etc. x good-natured hospital doctor. one day theres a major clamor about how someone turned up outside the hospital with grievous injuries. at first its all hands on deck to help them, but eventually someone figures out that theyre mafia and everyone jumps ship. darling’s colleagues try to persuade them away from the dying mafioso, telling them how getting involved with the mafia in ANY way will turn out bad for them and to just leave them to their fate, but darling keeps to their oath and decides to take over their care.

its tiring work, working round the clock alone to keep this bastard alive, but it’ll all be worth it in the end, right? wrong. yan’s FIRST order of business when waking up and finding themselves in a hospital is to flip out. threats, attacks, the whole shebang. big tantrum. eventually darling reasons with them that theyre far too injured to go anywhere for the time being without like. dying. (this wouldnt work on dazai that well lol) and if they wanted to turn them in or kill them they wouldve done it like 2 days ago. they even agree to submit to the mafia’s retaliation if they find their care insufficient. their patient agrees, albeit very angrily, and darling sets off on the worlds most thankless job. 

any of these fuckers will give darling a run for their money. dazai would spend a lot of time trying to intimidate them into letting him out early or goad them into killing him, stealing things to hurt himself with, harassing the nurses, faking symptoms, anything he can think of to make their life harder. chuuya is just NASTY, nothing to say to the person Saving His Life besides threats and insults. can never leave a check up on akutagawa without at least one bruise. so on and so forth. no support from colleagues either, darlings decision to Do Their Job making them a pariah. even so, they offer their testy patient their care and kindness without falter. as soon as theyre well enough to get up and walk out, thats exactly what they do, and darling would be lying if they said they werent glad to wash their hands of the whole thing. they’re, of course, back the next week with a new injury that they INSIST that DARLING SPECIFICALLY must look at and suddenly acting like they’re besties. darling lets them, of course, even as the injuries they come in with are more and more ridiculous, all the while trying to gently steer them away from ever coming back before they get them arrested. 

well, if you didnt want them hanging around you maybe you shouldnt have been so sweet. are they supposed to forget about you holding their hand through shockwaves of pain? your soothing voice? the way you stayed up all night to watch over them while they slept? do you think they get THAT at the mafia infirmary? say, why dont you come and work there! they see how your colleagues spurn you, how ungrateful your other patients are for you. doctors are VERY highly regarded among the mafia, itd be a great fit for you! itd also let them personally make it up to you for being so awful before. win-win, right?

injuries aren't uncommon in this line of work, and bleeding out with a terrifyingly gaping wound is not a new sight for port mafioso. usually, though, mori already arranges for other people to come in and take care of the injured, and they steer clear of hospitals and clinics. it's not smart to get civilian doctors involved in this.

usually, things go as planned.

today, it didn't. dazai's subordinates were strewn somewhere else, leaving him wounded and isolated. to make things worse, he was positioned awkwardly close to a busy street. he should have anticipated that the enemy would have some other trick up their sleeve. now what? was he going to die here, like a disgraced dog? he would prefer something less painful and embarrassing, but beggars couldn't be choosers...

maybe he should have accepted mori's offer of even more backup.

he couldn't reach for his phone, and even if it didn't hurt so bad and he could get it, his fingers were trembling so much that he knew he couldn't type out anything. god, how pathetic. death was death. he couldn't be too picky about it, could he? he would welcome the end.

to his surprise, he woke up.

he was sure he was in a hospital. the plain walls, the simple bed. the papers nearby and the person in a white coat gave it away. this was bad news, terrible news. he wasn't supposed to go to any hospitals or clinics unless mori said so, and now he was here, getting treated by any regular civilian doctor.

obviously, dazai decides the best course of action is to kick up a fuss. they wouldn't hold him here against his will, right? he screams and kicks and threatens everyone until he's exhausted and the staff is ready to throw him out themselves, but you stop them. he recognizes you as the person in his room when he woke up, and watches as you defend his behavior by telling everyone how confused and frightened he would have been after waking up with no recollection of what happened in between. confused, frightened? he was mortified by your choice of words, and worse yet, it was working. everyone backed down, turned their backs and went on with their day.

and you have the audacity to turn back and smile at him like you hadn't just embarrassed him, telling him that it was expected he would have reacted so negatively, promising to help make sure his stay was as comfortable as possible. what stay? he wants to get out, but when he voiced this demand with a hoarse throat, you look more shocked and rush off to get him something for his voice instead. you sit down beside him with a hand on his and carefully explain why he has to stay and why it's important he works with you for a speedy recovery. you ask him for who you should contact since he didn't seem to have any existing identity, but he only turns away and tells you he wants to leave.

he does this for as long as he's hospitalized, complaining about everything, reminding you he doesn't have cash and that killing him would be your best course of action, since he couldn't afford the bill anyway. he tries to run away and pull off stupid stunts, but nothing works. it's infuriating how calm you are about everything. you leave and go back to your usual routine, stopping by to check up on him occasionally. the other staff, however, look terrified of him, and he relishes in the trembling hands and rushed exits. during one of their visits to sort out his room, dazai pretends to sleep so they can actually get things done without fearing he will kick them all out the window, and overhears a particularly interesting conversation.

he learns that you were the one who insisted they treat him despite everyone else noticing the signs that he was probably part of some underground organization. some determined line about how it's your job and you need to help everyone regardless of personal feelings. he thinks it's all bullshit, but your determination...is kind of cute. it's only a matter of time before you end up as soulless and exhausted as everyone else in the city, though.

then the long awaited day comes, and you announce that he can leave. he doesn't care to ask for a bill or thank you, running out and disappearing to talk to mori again, but he would be lying if he said he didn't think about you even after that day. for some reason, something about you really stuck with him. it might have had something to do with your relentless insistence to help, your unwavering patience, your calm conduct, or maybe your...voice. your sympathetic tone, your firm hold...your presence.

a week later, dazai shows up to your workplace and demands he get his hand checked out. he whines until they drag you down and then he exaggerates his terrible condition, how important and urgent it was and how he needed to be kept inside the hospital for a few weeks at least this time. it's very serious, you know. you saw through his lie, but you don't bat an eyelid, immediately complying to his outrageous demands. he was a little happy that you hadn't changed. so despite how often he showed up, with a new but small injury, you took it in stride and treated him with all the concern and seriousness he expected. could you blame him if he liked to be fussed over like this?

what he didn't like was the knowledge that you treated all your patients like this. none of them deserved the same meticulous inspections, soothing touches, dedicated service, and warm smiles you gave. it wasn't fair that he came in all beaten up and you could only come in for a quick greeting before rushing out after another patient. and for what? your meager pay? well, if he could talk to mori and get you brought over as a personal doctor for some of the high-ranking members, you'd get paid well and you could be with him all the time while doing what you loved. it was the best of both worlds, wasn't it?

Okay i have now finished relistening to all of blood in the bayou and I /didn’t/ cry (got close when rand hugged kian but i stayed strong) but here are some thoughts about the final episode!

The reveal with Rolan is still so fucking good. Like. Charlie did such an amazing job foreshadowing it without ever actually giving it away, which is exactly what you want from a plot twist, it’s phenomenal and makes so much sense in universe as well

Charlie describing the kian monster as “the thing that once was kian stone” numerous times is like… insane to me /pos. Because yeah, it really was. It was kian. It wasnt the original, but it was as much kian as rolan was rolan. And they couldnt forget that even if it would have been easier to

Amber had to always shove her feelings down for Mark, every time he disappears she doesn't have the luxury to call him, she doesn't have the luxury of thinking "well he's going to come back", she doesn't even have the luxury of being angry at him because whatever it is it has to be important (whether or not it really is important)

In the comics she hung out with someone and had a coffee date. He got a call from work asking him to come in and she already prepared a speech about how she won't be upset and she's okay with him going into work.

He told her he already told them no because he already promised to spend time with her and besides they had other people who could do the job and who didn't have other obligations.

Mark CANNOT DO THAT!

At this point this man is nothing more than a friend, he has no powers, but he does have an important job he loves and YET he can make time for coffee while Mark is always on Call.

In the show they had... something approximating a normal work life balance for about 5 minutes. Like Rex Splode promising to cover for Invincible for a night or two. And he told Cecil he needed a few nights off.

Not perfect by any means, but Mark did acknowledge that Amber was important and he was willing to push back and try for her.

Only for disaster to immediately strike.

And that shattered any illusion of a normal life with Mark and Amber. Amber will always be a target, Amber won't be able to fight back. She could be killed in less than a moment the only reason she wasn't killed was Anissa didn't want to kill her.

Even if Mark could keep his promises every time (which he obviously couldn't) this was always how it would end.

She can't talk about her dead grandpa (a moment most people need love and support through) because the world will always be ending, Mark is always healing from a fight. They can't go on a date because even if they succeeded and Mark managed not to fight the fight could just as easily come to him.

A parallel to his dad: Mark's mom knew from the beginning that Nolan was a superhero. Amber didn't.

Every moment Nolan did spend with Debbie he did try to make it romantic, he prioritized her, he went out to romantic dinners often, he flew her across countries, he spent time with her and even then Debbie said he was hardly around.

Even with Nolan refusing to join a team, even with Nolan refusing to work for Cecil, even with Nolan in at least one point, refusing to fight saying "Let Cecil earn his paycheck."

There is a metaphor there for the work life balance that appeals to me because I have a jard time setting boundaries. And I've been in Amber's shoes and Mark's shoes.

Neither are fun. But she had every right to walk away and I applaud her strength to make herself a priority and for the show going so far to show that she is right to leave and Mark was also right for being Invincible

nolan — being one of marks important people in his life despite not being around incredibly often — had Definitely influenced mark’s relationship with amber. thinking it was fine to lie, to leave abruptly, etc etc. which made sense to some of the audience as well (ahem ahem , amber haters), the mindset that “Oh, mark is leaving because hes a superhero, he has things to do”. theyre only looking at marks perspective and refusing to look at ambes. and while that might be true that he has some form of obligation to save the world, who Wouldnt be upset that your partner up and leaves you. who wouldnt be upset that your partner lies and makes excuses, maybe even sometimes not making excuses?

which is why i think the choice that spiderman makes in one of the older movies to decline a relationship with MJ to keep her safe is a good choice. because unless youre prepared enough to balance school, relationships, and being a superhero, you have to make a decision because you cant have it all. which is something that is touched on in episode seven in season two. mark has to make a choice. because you cant forget that its only a choice, its a choice between putting yourself in danger, or putting yourself AND your loved ones in danger.

ambers character doesnt have an “improvement” from season 1. ive seen the comic dudebros say this. she only feels like she “improved” compared to season 1 because they dont like it when the girl dating the superhero doesnt comply with everything the superhero does. and lets be honest, its more than just trope divergence that makes those dudebros hate amber, and we all know it.

basically mark was never taught how to balance those lives personally. but he has definitely been influenced by his parents relationship. because of that influence, it lead to mark and ambers breakup.

genuinely hate the way heaven and hell is set up in hazbin like. in all honesty. whats the point of using the dantes inferno layers of hell if you are only allowed to use the pride layer. for every sinner. why the fuck would that make sense. like. a serial killer would be in the like. idfk wrath or lust (bloodlust) layer. dantes inferno isnt even fucking canonical to the bible.

the angel designs are flat, their movements feel stilted to me, all the humans in heaven just have a color swapped monster design just like the sinners.

the designs look like theyre still a fucking pain to animate, and i do genuinely like a lot of the designs, i think angel dust is iconic and uh. the bat cat guy looks pretty cool, i think theyre more for like. comic books.

LIKE they made dantes inferno LAME!!! wheres the imagination??? was the best you could come up with for greed "chicago" and wrath "the wild west"???? come on

and the way heaven and hell are addressed is so much more confusing. like. the angels have a Moral code Not To Kill, even if theyre demons (in the episode the angel opposite of IMP are focused on, they lose their jobs when they indirectly kill a guy they weren't supposed to kill), which comes into direct conflict with what the angels Were ALREADY DOING IN HAZBIN???

itd be one thing if they were taking place apart from each other in the timeline, and we don't really know that ATM, but they're supposed to take place in the same universe, so they never really seem to make up their minds on what they wanna do with that???

AND LIKE the core concept of hazbin hotel is broken from the very worldbuilding the show is built on. no demon would ever wanna work on redeeming themselves by just going to a hotel, and even in cases when they do, its really just to sabotage each other, before they solve their problems like. my fucking little pony. i cant believe this was a show made for the same target group as bojack horseman or moral orel, it makes me sick

and this idea isnt broken either!!! it can work!!! the good place worked and improved on this idea In Strides and did it with much more maturity and respect for its audience than vivziepop could even do for two of her shows

like hazbin hotel & helluva boss could be improved upon, they just need Better Writers and a Stronger Vision for where the story could go. im not even being a hater Just Because (altho i am), i'm just really upset that this was the direction the show is seemingly going to with no stop. ive seen people that have looked up to vivziepop as inspiration and felt deeply betrayed when the story was shit, when the writing was horrible, its really disappointing to see. i think the only people left watching this are people who think what vivziepop is doing is good, even if she spends more than half her time online looking up her shows to try to fight back against any and all criticism

he was fine with being the worst part of Sailom's life, and then suddenly discovered so many other things in his life that Sailom has to face every day, and the punishment he gets every month if he doesn't pay his debt, and Kang realises he's the least of Sailom's problems, and he suddenly wants to help him as much as he possibly can. previously, he was offering his money to Sailom but not as comfort or help, but because he recognised his privilege and power and used it to taunt Sailom and to remind him who is in charge. but then he saw two grown men assaulting him and nearly pressing a hot iron to his face, and Kang suddenly saw just how much power and privilege he has, in the sense that he can literally solve most of Sailom's problems (because they mostly boil down to money) without any change in his own status whatsoever

he went from wanting to be the worst part of Sailom's life, to wanting to fix the actual worst parts of his life, and I just love him so much can you blame me for loving him so much

It Can Take A While (Glenn Close x Reader)

A/N: Boy oh BOY was this fun to write. I’m getting back into the swing of writing so I hope this kind of fulfilled your simple simp desires cuz I sure know it filled mine. I need to find my writing style again but until then, here’s this!!!

Warnings: Spoilers of around episodes 20-30-ish of S1 with some creative liberties taken, loser of the sexiest podcast character poll (rip), alcohol, public make outs, swearing, gets kind of steamy by the end, lmk if there’s anything else. reader is a nerd

It was another long day that passed in the foreign land that you quickly discovered was known as the Forgotten Realms. Tensions were high as your group traveled in the white Honda Odyssey with Darryl at the helm and Henry in the passenger seat. The boys, your sons, were still missing, taken by mysterious men in purple robes. Everyone was tired.

The two in the front were going at it, their difference in views was beginning to get the best of them… again. Beside you, in the back seat and behind the passenger was Glenn. In the very back were Ron and Paeden.

“Hey, hey,” Paeden’s nasally voice hovered over your shoulder. He sat directly behind you. You flinched and rubbed your ear against your shoulder as a discomforting tingling wave made its way down your side. You heard Glenn chuckle.

“Oh, dude, don’t do that.” You shifted to get a better view of Paeden. “What’s up?”

The boy behind you sniffed. “What are they fighting about?” He gestured to the pair in the front. They seemed to be getting more angry as their voices began to rise.

“They just have different opinions about things, bud, don’t stress it,” Glenn seemed to wave off their fighting as it was something that happened often. They always butted heads due to their differing opinions; from parenting styles to personal beliefs, they found a way to antagonize each other.

You wished you could be as chilled out as Glenn sometimes. You wouldn’t get so anxious about the group arguing so much. Somehow, you always find yourself being mediator. That’s just what you’ve always been good at, you guess. As assistant soccer coach (a position Darryl was angry at you for ‘stealing from him’), it was your job to promote everyone to be their best self. Arguing wouldn’t get anyone anywhere. It wasn’t constructive, only critical and you were all desperate to get your sons back.

“Oh, so that’s what it’s about? I’m sorry I can’t live with the fact that we killed over one-hundred people with that pyramid, Darryl.”

There it was.

Henry was the first one to let his anger really get to him. While he refuses to get angry with his sons, he has no qualms with getting angry at anyone in the group. Just an observation, you supposed.

“We need to be able to get our sons back, and we can’t do that if we’re facing whatever justice system is in place.” Darryl barked back.

There was a collective soft sigh in the back of the van, even from Ron, as the pair bickered.

“Darryl, if you’re going to fight, please park the car. We can talk this out.” Your voice was calm, as you spoke your suggestion. “We’re all tired and scared, and your emotions are valid, but if your emotions are going to get the better of you like this, then you should park the car,” you reiterated, leaning forward in your seat to be closer to the two men in the front. “Have a discussion, not an argument.”

Glenn, from your right, spoke up. “Well, I think arguments can be just as constructive as discussions.” You turned to him, furrowing your eyebrows together. “I’m just saying.”

“No, no, they’re right. Let’s park the car, and we can have a civilized discussion,” Henry relented with a gesture of his hand.

“Oh, great, we’re stopping.” Ron’s voice came from the back, sparking a moment of silence for him. “I really have to use the bathroom.”

“Okay, okay.” Darryl took a breath. “We’ll stop, Ron does what he needs to do, and we can workshop a way to get our sons back.”

There was a tense silence that followed Darryl’s statement as he started slowing down the car to a bumpy stop. Everyone began to pile out of the minivan and Ron rushed to get to a private area to relieve himself within the forest you stood in.

All around you, trees towered over you and bushes threatened to stab your legs. The ground was uneven and you wondered how the Odyssey’s suspension was holding up. The group of you had been traveling on this uneven terrain for weeks now and it hadn’t undergone substantial damage yet.

“What’s this really going to accomplish? Huh?” Darryl looked at you, his larger stature standing over you with his arms crossed.

You placed your hands on your hips. “For starters, so that no one would get hurt in case you lost your cool while driving.” Darryl was about to object when you held out a finger to stop him. “Also to actually have a face to face conversation with everyone involved. You two aren’t the only ones going through this. It’s not fair to us if you leave us out of the conversation.”

“You’re right, you’re right. I’m sorry we did that,” Henry spoke from beside Darryl.

“You are forgiven,” Ron’s voice came from beside you. You felt your heart drop as you jumped away, your hand flying to your chest.

“Jesus, Ron,” you breathed out, placing a hand on the nearest person’s shoulder to feign support. Your hand landed on a worn down leather and you know you placed it on Glenn. He, Darryl and Henry laughed.

Yet another day of nipping an argument in the bud.

“You don’t like Christmas music?” Glenn exclaimed, causing you to shush him. You two were up talking by a makeshift fire while the rest of the dads were fast asleep. Neither of you could sleep and ended up chatting away.

You let out a laugh. “I loathe Christmas music. My retail gigs in college sucked.” You leaned back with your hands on the soft earth while he leaned in close, the orange flames highlighting his face against the darkness.

“You probably like Linkin Park, too.” He rolled his eyes and sat with his elbows on his knees, his feet flatfooted on the ground.

You faltered, struggling to come up with a response that wouldn’t upset him. It probably showed on your face.

“No!” He whined, his head rolling back before snapping upright to face you again. “Really? Linkin Park?”

“They got me through school! You can’t be mad at me!” You pointed a finger at him from across the fire.

“I forget you’re a nerd. What was your major again?” This time, Glenn leaned forward, the brightness of the fire once again illuminating his face and reflecting off of his eyes. It was almost like he was asking seriously.

You scratched the back of your head, your eyes averting his. “Computer science- cybersecurity.”

“So you’re a huge nerd!” Glenn laughed and you had to shush him again. “So what, you can like, hack stuff with what you learned?”

“Well, I’m paid to do the opposite,” you explained before a grin took hold over your lips. “But I have done a bit of hacking before.” The pair of you laughed as Glenn processed the information.

“No way. Goody-two-shoes you? Hacking?” Glenn leaned forward agin, his eyes squinted in humor. “Dude, you gotta show me sometime.”

You shook your head. “A hacker never reveals their secrets.” You turned away from the musician.

“Ah, playing hard to get, are we?” Glenn’s brown eyes narrowed at you, a sly grin exposing a bit of teeth. A heat ran up from your chest to your neck, where it crawled the rest of the way up to your face with a burn.

You turned away in an attempt to hide yourself. “Shut up, Close.”

“Get your head out of your ass for two seconds, Glenn!” You shouted. The rest of the dads were off trying to resolve an issue Glenn started while he and you stood behind a tavern. You were getting sick of his attitude. If the other dads were here, you knew they would be shocked at your yelling.

“Yeah? Where else would you like my head to be? Huh?” He took a step toward you, and it took all your willpower to not take a step back from him. You had to hold your ground and your eyes remained locked with his. He was definitely insinuating something else, you weren’t stupid, but you weren’t about to let him get the best of you.

“Maybe somewhere where you’ll be more aware of the situation?” You suggested, sarcasm laced through your words. “Dammit, Glenn. With all the touring you’ve done, you can’t fucking realize when to shut your damn mouth? You nearly blew it in there for us.” You pointed at the tavern you stood behind. The rest of the dads were in there.

“I didn’t think it would go south like that!” He tried to defend but you spoke up before he could get anything else out.

“Do you think at all?” You were nearly nose to nose apart from each other. Your anger seeped off of you as you glared at the man before you. Your eyes glaring straight into his and his were locked on yours just as harshly. Until you noticed the slight movement in his eyes. Glenn glanced downward slightly before holding your stare again. A heat began to flood your cheeks.

“You’d be surprised how much is on my mind lately.” His voice came out soft, unlike before, and your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

“What?” Your own volume matched his as his eyes glanced down again. You knew what he was looking at. The sudden change in tone caught you off guard. Your heart beat heavy in your chest, and you even heard it in your head.

Glenn reached out for your hand to hold it in his. You felt your blush worsen. He held your gaze, but it wasn’t as harsh as before. Instead, it was warm and welcoming. There was something else that took you by surprise: shyness. “I-”

Behind you, you heard the snap of a tree branch and turned yourself around just in time to see Henry appear from the side of the tavern. You managed to put enough distance between you and Glenn so you wouldn’t appear to be too close or… intimate.

“Hey, guys,” Henry greeted. He looked tired, the bags under his eyes were deep and dark and you didn’t know if it was because of the whole journey or just from having to clean up Glenn’s mess. “I hope I wasn’t interrupting anything.”

You coughed and tried to get your cheeks to cool off. “No, nothing. How did it go?” You asked, taking a few steps forward toward the taller blond man.

“We managed to cool off the situation inside. We’ve got a few rooms for us to sleep in for the night, too.” He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. “I feel like I need to say this now, to avoid any potential disasters: there is a bar in there. Drink responsibly. We still have stuff to do.”

“Aw, hell yeah,” Glenn cheered from behind you. You couldn’t help but put your hand on your forehead.

“Don’t have too much fun, Glenn.” Henry shot a pointed look at the man in question before walking up and whispering in your ear. “Please keep an eye on him.”

“Hold on,” you pulled away from Henry. “Why do I have to be on baby sitting duty?” Henry simply turned around and began his departure from you to go back into the tavern. “Henry,” you tried. “Henry, not cool dude.”

You watched as he turned the corner, thus disappearing from your view before turning around to Glenn. He wore a shit eating grin. You sighed. “I need a drink.”

“Fuck yeah!”

You didn’t know how you were still functioning. You were three ales deep with a fourth in your hand as you leaned on Glenn. Somehow, throughout this entire adventure, he didn’t smell all that bad. He actually smelled of fresh soil and very woodsy. His free hand sat at your waist while yours was hanging onto the shoulder your head leaned on. He was on his fourth ale as well, but was holding a water for the two of you to share.

The rest of the dads decided to call it for the night and retired to the rooms they reserved earlier. It was rest well deserved, you’d say. You appreciated their ability to cool off the situation to ultimately get comfortable beds to rest in and alcohol to fill your stomach (and head).

“This stuff is strong.” You couldn’t help but nuzzle your cheek into his leather clad shoulder, his still shockingly soothing scent wafting its way to your nose. “I didn’t think it would be so crowded here tonight.”

“It’s a bar, these places always get packed this time of night,” Glenn’s smooth voice spoke into your ear and a chill ran down your spine. The blush that plagued your face before was coming back tenfold. The heat burned and you were nearly sure Glenn could feel it through his leather jacket. “Is it too much for you?” The question caught you off guard.

He was usually so full of himself. Checking up on you? That was almost unheard of on this little adventure you’ve been on. You felt his hand tighten on your waist, almost urging an answer out of you. You felt a lump form in your throat as your breath got caught.

“Oh, uhh,” you struggled with your words. You looked down at the ale in your hand and moved to slam it back until his hand moved from your waist and caught your wrist. You moved to face him. “Glenn!” You whined.

“You were supposed to be the one taking care of me,” he laughed at your growing frown. “If I let you drink this, will you drink some water?” His brown eyes held yours in an amused stare.

You peaked down at the two cups in your respective hands before looking back up at him. “I promise.” Your words came out in a slur, the syllables blending into each other to form a barely cohesive response.

He let go of your wrist and you moved faster than you knew Glenn thought you would. You slammed back the ale and stumbled into his chest. There was a rumble that resonated through his chest as he laughed at you.

His arms instinctively wrapped around you to keep you steady. “Since when were you such a party goer?” His voice rang in your head as it buzzed. Your world was feeling woozy but you felt like you were floating. You missed this feeling.

“Oh,” you chuckled, a grin stretching across your lips. You peered up at him through half lidded eyes and your blush was finally beginning to to get under control. “You would’ve loved me during my college years.”

“Yeah?” His facial expression mirrored yours. The water in his hand had been discarded on the bar next to you in favor of holding you to him. “Pray tell.”

“Why tell when I can show you?” Talk about liquid confidence. You leaned in, nose to nose with Glenn. Your alcoholic breaths colliding as your hands began to slide up his arms and around his neck. The front of your chest was pressed against his. He was locked in place just as you were.

“You’re speaking my language,” his said, speaking with a sultry tone you’ve never heard from him before. And Gods was it hot.

It was like a force brought your lips together and you couldn’t let go. Your fingers raked through his shoulder length black hair, holding him to you. His hands slid up and down your back and you felt a chill run down your spine and goosebumps appear along your arms. The hairs at the back of your neck stood as his hands finally rested at your hips.

He pinched at one side of your hips and you couldn’t stop yourself from letting out a small gasp. With a chuckle, his tongue met yours in a dance, twirling around each other. Out of instinct, you let out a moan which caused him to pull back an inch, a trail of saliva still connecting you. With his sudden disappearance, you had to fight off the urge to whine.

You looked up at him, breathless and flushed. He looked the same. It was a good look on him. Red cheeks, swollen lips, breathing a bit heavier than normal but not completely out of breath. His warmth returned to the side of your face as he leaned into your ear.

“How about we continue this somewhere else?”

so, you've been oh-so-luckily chosen to be digidestined and whisked away to an unfamiliar world where just about Everything wants to kill you, you have No way to contact your own world, and you have No idea how to get back. great! cool! excellent!

introducing our funny little guys of the week: yuichiro and muichiro tokito! just them for now, before i scope-creep myself to death. but, that aside, you can't be digidestined without a funny little digital partner of your own! so, introducing:

-Patamon, Muichiro's partner! an observant yet skittish little thing that never tends to stray far from its partner. it takes its job very seriously, oftentimes coming across as a bit fussy. even so, it is very easily overwhelmed and may need encouragement to press on. as well, it also tends to take things at face value more often than not, making it very earnest but Very gullible. -DemiDevimon, Yuichiro's partner! a mischeivous little thing that rarely seems to take things very seriously. its defiant and a bit self-centered, and honestly at times seems to genuinely only stick around the twins because theyre entertaining to mess with. it's here for a good time and Nothing Else. despite its yapping, it does occasionally let a bit of protectiveness slip through-- always fiercely sticking by them despite its nigh-constant complaints about how it wants to leave.

this ragtag group of four must make their way across the digital world to find a way back home-- and hopefully remain alive in the process. in such an unfamiliar and dangerous world, however, problems are sure to arise.

the twins, of course, stick together-- but more and more often, their desires and personalities begin to clash in ways that make it more difficult to progress. it's easy to keep your head low and follow along, but just how long can you really take that-- how long can you pretend it's okay? it's easy to keep a brave face, but there's only so much you can do with what you have-- and what you convince yourself that you don't. there's only so long you can stay in such a high-pressure environment before something begins to break.

throughout their journey, they'll discover more outlandish and mystifying places, meet more new faces, and uncover strange secrets-- what's the connection between their digimon partners? how did they get sent to the digital world in the first place? and most importantly: why does this world seem to already recognize them?

with that out of the way... time for the fiddly bits.

the twins have an arc with each other much alike the one they get in canon-- but pressed a bit further. the two learn to stand their ground, speak their mind-- and ultimately, learn to really, truly trust one another.

yui oftentimes takes the lead, and tends to do a better job keeping everything in order-- but... he's still just a kid. a kid that cares deeply for his brother, and would do anything to keep him safe. but in a world like this, there's not much that he Can do. so he plays the part as best he can-- even if it means that he has to make hard choices.

mui, on the other hand, wants desperately to be able to help-- he slowly starts getting bolder and more forward, away from that more shy personality he'd been known to have. of course it was more dangerous. of course they didn't know what would happen next. but he would never forgive himself if he just did Nothing.

at its core, the two begin to actually almost switch places through their arc-- mui becoming more active and yui more passive-- as they make their way forward and sort themselves (and each other) out.

and of course: their partners have a whole Thing(tm) going on too! with the twins And between each other.

mui+pata are like odd little peas in a pod, oftentimes found staring at something or other with their big ol owly eyes, going back and forth over this-and-that about it in a way that makes sense to nobody but them. pata knows more about the world and where they might be going, but mui is a bit of an emotional rock for it-- providing encouragement and talking it through any roadblocks it may have come across. theyre odd little enablers! at least, when pata isn't pulling mui's hair over the fact that theyre going the wrong way, they went the wrong way we have to go that way-- no, thats the wrong way too we-- were lost were lost oh no were lost what do we DO--

yui+dDevi are. a goddamn mess. dDevi loves messing with this kid, always talking at him like it knows better-- which it does, technically, but it doesnt have to say it like that, shut up. it talks like a shitty older brother as if it wasn't leagues smaller than him and shaped exactly like a kickball. (yui doesn't vocalize this. he is so very tempted to, though.) despite all the ribbing, yui is pretty much the only person it'll talk seriously with. obviously yui is rather frustrated with it at times, but he can tell it does genuinely mean well. mostly. they squabble, but they do keep each other from doing anything too stupid. and further than that: even if he doesn't say anything, yui can tell when there's something on its mind.

the digiduo are... odd, certainly. but, strangely, there seems to be some sort of tension between the two-- they... really dont seem to get along. pata is deeply distrustful of dDevi, noting its existence as an evil digimon. like, it's in the name! devimon! not to mention how often it leads them astray or messes with them just for kicks-- something's up and it's not sure what.

on the other hand, dDevi doesn't much like pata either. it's a stuck-up killjoy thats convinced it's always right when it can barely make any good calls. always hiding behind its whole spiel of "good" and "evil" like it's so trustworthy. it doesn't even know what it's talking about half the time! if it's going to lecture them, it should at the very least be right about it. get a reason to be upset other than "that ones clearly evil, look at it!"

and then... there's the memories. or rather, the lack thereof. both seem to remember parts of some grand legend that they no longer have the ability to recall the whole of. something important to their reason of being-- and the presence of the digidestined twins.

pata seems particularly insistent of it being a prophecy, a series of steps to follow that foretell what and who they should be. (something about it seems to stress them out particularly badly, though... what exactly is it that they're living up to? why doesn't it know?)

dDevi... pretends not to care, at least. but it recalls the legend too, and hearing the fragments of it seems to make it upset. it wants nothing to do with the legend, and just wants to do... anything else. (anything to get further away from that stupid story. it's not one to be shackled by expectations like that.)

and again, the twins seem to differ on what they make of the story. yui sides with pata, believing its their best bet to at the very least figuring out how to get home. mui, on the other hand, slowly begins to wonder what exactly the gaps in the legend could mean, and wants to find out what it truly is. it's hard to follow a broken path. after all, who's to say its really a path at all? which brings us to... a bit of a conflict.

after a particularly rough leg of the journey, things start to get... difficult. theyve had little to no luck learning much of Anything of the way forward-- and things are just getting harder and harder as they go. yui isn't sure how much more they can really take of this. they're starting to barely make it out of these situations alive, so... so maybe they're better off just accepting it. nothing's leading them anywhere, nothing is making sense-- they might as well just... find a place to hide and keep their heads low. live it out as best they can. (he isn't sure how much more they can take.)

mui, of course, protests-- there were so many more places they haven't looked through yet! there was no telling if they found something or not unless they went for it! it was always going to be hard-- they couldn't just give up and wait for the difficulty to find Them. (he can't stand the idea of just giving up after all that...)

the two begin bickering, and it gets... hard. pata starts experiencing some doubt, unsure of if they should really be pressing on into certain death-- they'd just had some ridiculously close calls, and maybe waiting it out would reveal something..? (the knowledge of the unfinished legend hangs above its head, and the thought of unravelling it... is starting to give them a bad feeling.) dDevi doesn't want to sit around and do nothing while waiting for death-- that's boring and pathetic. itd much rather do something with itself even if it's scary. (it needs to know the truth. why so many others know them, why it keeps getting such bitter stares... why? it's frustrating.)

and the bickering turns to arguing. after a few too many harsh words from both sides... they split up. mui heading off with dDevi to find out what was really going on, and yui with pata to... find somewhere safe. figure it out.

for yui and pata, it's... a bit of a long journey. the two rarely speak, mostly just quick words to keep each other alert and avoid attention. yui is mostly pushed forward by his stubbornness, but... it does bother him. it bothers him a lot. he's afraid, he's worried, and he doesn't know what to do. he wants to figure it out, he wants to have all the answers. but he doesn't, and it was stupid to think he ever couldve. legend or not-- prophecy or not, they were just kids. what could they really do? what were they supposed to do?

and as it turned out, pata was worried sick as well. it isnt until a quiet moment that yui catches pata crying-- and they finally talk. because pata hated this too. it hated feeling like it should be able to lead them, but being unable to because of the gaps in its knowledge. it hated giving up, because it knew they needed to do something, and it was letting them down by doing nothing. and most of all... it missed mui. it argued because it was afraid, but it knew this was no better. more than anything, it just wanted to help.

they both knew they couldn't keep going with this. if not for their own sakes, then for the others'.

team mui's progress is... equally difficult. it was already hard enough moving about with a halved party, but they also aren't with their bonded partners, so their Actual Useable FIrepower is much much more limited. the entire time, dDevi goes on and on insulting the other pair, insisting it was really about time this went and happened, and that their own pair was obviously right all along. mui stays quiet through much of this, but after a particularly cruel jab, mui snaps back.

because he knew it didn't really mean any of it. dDevi was smug and irritating, sure, but it was just about always a joke. it was never this mean about it... unless it was actually, personally upset. that was a lot of talk for someone who insisted it didn't care. and even if it were to deny it, mui wouldn't stand for someone saying the people he cared about weren't worth anything. of course they were afraid-- they all were. answers were never easy. it was why they were working so hard to begin with.

and dDevi was genuinely taken aback-- because it was always convinced that mui was the pushover of the group. but just like that, he'd managed to completely read its actions without so much as a word. and... he was right. it wasnt proud of what it said, but it had to stand by it. it just didnt know how else to justify itself-- how else to keep going. but... all of this-- everything had always been for each other, hadn't it? and they certainly wasn't going to stop there.

they just had to find a way to convince the others.

of course, nothing was ever easy. its the risk they knew they were taking, but... maybe a risk they weren't quite prepared for. wherever they go, together or not, some new threat will always find a way to rear its head. but between the two of them, there wasn't much they could do to fight back. and they full well wouldn't have been able to make it... had it not been for team yui showing up at a crucial moment, yuichiro putting himself directly in the line of danger to draw attention from mui-- giving him and pata a chance to actually fight back now that they were reunited.

it's a messy fight, but with all of them together-- and a newfound but concrete trust-- they manage to push through relatively unscathed-- if a bit battered on yui's end. after a few moments to make sure everyone was all right (and ironically, to scold each other over being so reckless,) they finally get the chance to talk. and... to apologize.

and now for more scattered notes before i end up writing another minific in a tumblr post.

the legend goes very similarly to a typical fairy tale-- a battle between forces of good and evil, and the champions of each. long ago, there was another pair of digidestined that stumbled across the digital world, and very quickly became unrivaled in power. one half, however, became corrupted by the allure of strength and jealousy, splitting both the digital world and their familial bond. as things came to a boiling point, their conflict brought unseen destruction to the digital world, each of the chosen digimon destroying each other in the battle. crushed and in denial (for varying different reasons,) the old digidestined simply... vanished, one day, never to be seen again. as for their chosen digimon, their data was wiped nearly clean, to be born anew for when they were needed again.

as a whole, it's a story of forging bonds, learning to trust, and breaking cycles of violence.

dDevi hates the idea of digivolving due to lingering memories of that past life. it refuses to interact with it at all, and commits itself to just having a good time and living a life it can enjoy. it doesn't want to become... that again.

pata remembers that betrayal and remembers something awful happening, but... something about having to distrust the other makes it deeply, deeply sad. it want to believe in the best in dDevi, but it also feels the pull of responsibility of having to live up to the legend. that was the only thing it felt it could trust.

the old digidestined are, of course, the tsugikuni twins. whether they show up again or not is still in the air-- yoriichi being pata's old partner and michikatsu being dDevi's.

i dont feel like digging through the digiwiki for another hour but id like to somehow integrate dDevi's original digivolution line being more in line w/ canon, going all in on the Hehoo Evil(tm) thing, but with yui, it follows a more neutral route, following its own desires rather than the course of what the story Expects of it.

things that are needed for a cambank siblings duo in s4 (even though theyre not really siblings):

• an episode where it's them teamed up, both trying to get to Kie and John B somehow (idk maybe they get split up or John B and Kie get taken who knows but I need it)

• Sarah is pissed and JJ is pissed and they're annoyed with each other because they're tired and on edge so they bicker and just gripe at each other the whole episode but it brings just pure chaos and humor to the scenes

• they have a moment where they're trying to think of a plan and Sarah says something like, "I miss John B. he would know what to do." and JJ just gives a scrunched up face and says, "gross, get a room" and she shoves him annoyed and says, "I would if he was here," and JJ just pretends to puke

• JJ is like panicking over getting to Kie, terrified she's gonna get hurt, but he doesn't say it he just gets more and more irrational and irritated. He starts to spiral at one point and Sarah grabs both his arms and says, "JJ, Kie is going to be fine, okay? we're going to find them, and when we do, she's gonna be okay. I promise." and it works, it calms him down.

• he does dumb shit that makes him put his life on the line and when he's back and safe Sarah shoves him and hits him across the head, yelling at him that he's an idiot. then of course he starts to yells back but she just gives him a big hug and says, "don't scare me like that" and JJ laughs some, hugs her back, and says, "here I thought you didn't care," and she says, "I don't. If I let you die on my watch John B and Kie would kill me." and he just smiles as he hugs her.

• they're trying to hide for some reason and JJ covers half his face with his shirt and has sunglasses on, so Sarah grabs his hat on his head and puts it on her head and pulls it down to hide her face. JJ says, "wow, never would recognize you now," and she retorts back, "coming from the guy with a shirt on his face as a disguise"

• they have a heart to heart, JJ talking about how much he needs Kie, and goes even deeper into stuff with his dad and his mom, and Sarah relates to him. She talks about her mother also left when she was a kid, and them both relating on having abusive (emotionally and physically) dad's who they still miss no matter how much they don't want to. and how they're both terrified they're going to become their parents.

• they need food and JJ is going to steal it, expecting Sarah to shame him, and instead she just rolls her eyes at his plan and shows him how is done but the power of manipulation and faux confidence.

• when finally reunited with Kie and John B, they give their SOs hugs and kisses, and John B says, "I'm surprised you guys survived this long with each other without killing each other" and they just look at each other with a smile, knowing how much they've been through and how much they respect one another now, and JJ says, "Yeah, well, I did a damn good job of almost gettin us killed for Sarah to have a chance to even try it."

Backstory~

I was coming back from holiday in Port U Gal (it was nice, other than the fact i burned to death a lot) and decided HEY! I DOWNLOADED THE LAST EPISODE OF XTALE TO WATCH ON THE PLANE! I SHOULD DO THAT!

Before this, I had slowly been dragging myself through xtale (adhd means i needed to spread it out). I liked it, other than the fact I had no idea what was going on 30% of the time. Anyway.

So I watched Xtale episode the last, and suddenly Sans was relevant despite only having about two speaking roles beforehand. And suddenly he and CharaFrisk were claiming to be besties. And suddenly FriskChara tried to make him kill them bc... it would force XGaster into reseting, weakening him (i think).

All of a sudden everyone's memories were back and they were about to kick XGaster's ass. WONDERFUL, thought me. THIS CUNT'S HAD IT COMING FOR TEN EPISODES. But then GUESS WHO SUDDENLY DEVELOPS MARY SUE SUPERPOWERS AND DESTROYS THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, BECAUSE... I genuinely do not know.

Did he feel CharaFrisk betrayed him by overwriting him? Maybe, but I think their actions were justified. They didn't see any other way out and they genuinely thought sans would be willing to help bc theyre besties for some reason.

Did he feel for Gaster bc he raised him? Valid enough, but if that's the case why did Papyrus (who was also raised by XGaster), Mr Spare a Genocidal Maniac, join the Gaster torture?

And again, WHY WAS HE THAT OP? There is no explanation for where those powers came from and I think that it is ridiculous he destroyed everyone and everything with full control over his powers, and then had the gall to wail about it. Like dude. No one was forcing you to do that?? Jeez.

And then Ink, who somehow failed to notice the Ten Variations of Hell Gaster created despite multiversal watch being his LITERAL JOB, comes in like. Oh! Hi sans variant in a destroyed universe! You're invited to the main plotline now! ;D

Wow.

Nothing against Ink, but according to the poll runner server, Ink's inaction is kind of a thing that happens a lot in Underverse. Rip.

Chapter by chapter, until i got distracted by the story lol.

Still fairly new to marauders but am loving it.

summary review: I truly adored this fic, probably my fave Wolfstar so far. I thought the worldbuilding was fantastic, as well as the characterization of baby Harry. Fairly angsty, but with plenty of fluff to make up for it. The raising Harry idea is becoming one of my favorite tropes, and this fic did an amazing job of weaving parenthood into a world that is still filled with complexities and evil, as well as lives outside of the main characters.

Chapter One

Again, the aftermath for Remus is getting me

So so so sad, and him believing Sirius innocent  makes it worse

The traitor shit is horrible to deal with emotionally im sure

I am upset to realize just how much remus ignored harry in the books/canon

Chapter Two

Aw he’s doing a good job as a dad

This fic is making him out to be very forgetful, fully forgot about both harry and Sirius

The pacing is much more clear in this which I enjoy quite a bit

And I talked to you kate about this earlier but remus has been different in other fics and I do kinda like him in this one, he’s more depressed and stressed than normal, but the forgetfulness almost lends itself to aloofness in a way that fits him

I very much appreciated him being so kind to Sirius. While I understand him being pissed at him for thinking he’s a traitor, the man is in Azkaban, like you’ve got to chill out, talk to him about this stuff when you have more than 15 minutes and less dementors

Anyway that scene was nice, I like the idea of their little family

Chappy 5

Good shit again

THIS is the perfect chapter length, not so long I forget what happens but no so short I have to stop reading every five seconds to review

The werewolf prejudice is a big thing in this fic, im not sure how I feel about it. Obviously from an equality standpoint, werewolves should be seen as human. Yet, there is something to the idea that the actual transformed wolf is very dangerous. I’m worried the wolfsbane study will be viewed as Remus “hiding himself” or something like that, when it should be viewed as a solution to the one thing holding werewolves back.

This can’t be compared to real life discrimination. You can’t be like “so you hate minorities” because none of the minorities I know turn into wolves once a month bruh

Anyway, Dumbledore being morally grey-ish, making mistakes but always anti-voldy. He’s such an interesting character. I like his presence in the book as well. Hagrid should come back soon he’s so nice.

Chap 6

Permanent pass <3, so cute. Having to abandon muggle friends? Not cute. Fuck Dumbledore, but only like a little

Not a dumby stan or hater tbh hes just a little silly in both directions

I’m so conflicted on this situation. Yes, it SUCKS that Sirius thought remus was the spy, but it’s not necessarily damning. It’s likely he convinced himself of it because it was the most painful option so it must’ve been the truth. It seems like fear, almost, and jealousy of the wolves over him? Might be over analyzing and overomanticizing but that is what im seeing atm.

The teaching position goes fucking CRAZY man, If remus was my history teacher my life would be GOLDEN

Do you think remus lupin would be a good addition to upper H hall yes or no

Chapter 7

Jesus fuck I forget how sad all this shit is sometimes

To begin with, the teaching position seems great. I do wish Remus would understand that he’s qualified for it

Speaking of teachers, I would love to see who the DADA teacher is, I know its not permanent but still fun

Anyway, I think 7 kids would be the end of me. I love children, and I still relate to Remus far more than Arthur in that scene, there’s actually no fucking way.

Like yes give me a shot I cannot do it, the strong drink joke was a good cover because I am sure its Arthurs greatest desire

Also, love him just dropping interest about muggles, would love to see that chat actually play out but it seems unimportant

Azkaban visit was good, Sirius is being less racist, and Remus is being kind. Wish they would love each other again already but slow burn wins <3

There’s a whole lot of forgetting in this fic im realizing, very relatable

I would actually kill myself

I’m sitting here pondering how I would react in this situation and genuinely tweaking just imagining it

He needs to go break it off with him, he can explain, there’s not really another option for him. If he maintains this it’s going to end poorly. I’m assuming he’s going to do that anyway, as it creates the most drama and is fantastic for the plot

I do think Remus is underestimating the importance of being taken even somewhat seriously by the Wizengamot. I know it’s not what he fully wanted but it’s legitimate progress.

Chapter ten

WHAT DID I SAY HE’S NOT GONNA TELL HIM

Actually devastated reading this im going to be honest

Lots of shit going down, forgetting and memory issues are such an interesting plot device, it makes any part of the story unreliable, and confuses the reader just a little bit. It also creates a lot of dramatic irony, which can often be very sad and tragic

Also, order members calling voldy “Voldemort” all high and mighty is a bit strange considering that they all chewed harry out about calling him “He Who Shall Not be Named”

Snape stole the parchment read it and slipped a potion into lupins chocolate that he would give to Sirius to sabotage their relationship

Bc Dumbledore told Snape everything as his extra special spy obviously

Ok so I was wrong it was dementors again. And remus told Sirius about the breakup. Which is, the right thing to do I guess

This is so hard for everybody man, Sirius’ perspective is heartbreaking

At least it shows his chats with dumby, who happens to be the funniest person in this fic

Chapters 13 & 14

Reconciliation came a bit too easily but thats alright, I want them to be happy

The amount I would give to receive a cat for Christmas. I want that so bad bruh.

Ok at least they’re acknowledging how bad Remus is with dates

Okay him being a dog seems helpful, I do feel like that should have been noticed a while ago

Honestly am feeling a bit lost in the romance, long distance pining is not my fave but hopefully Sirius will be freed before long and they can be happy for once.

I just am so curious as to why they broke up, I know thats the point but it just doesn’t make sense

Also ignore my random theories I keep throwing about, I dont actually believe snapes cat is regulus or that Snape poisoned Sirius its just fun

Chapters 15-16

They explained the plan so I know it will go horribly wrong

The memories are throwing me for a loop. On the one hand, everything is devastatingly sad. On the other hand, they’re all being emo and need to get it together

Sirius getting “lost in his memories” is a cool idea though, I’m liking the new magic thats being explored in this fic

I need them to have a huge blowup fight. Like a massive fight that sucks and is terrible. I don’t know how they’d do it but I need it

Also I think I can take one more “oh poor Sirius” memory until I blow my brains out. Big whoop your plan failed and you were insecure about it, I’d reach out to the closest person to blame to. I blamed [REDACTED] for not winning an award at model un, not his fault. Sirius can blame Remus for his plan failing and have a moody moment then move on, trust can be rebuilt.

Last five chapters

Ok everything is happy again and the reunion went FANTASTIC

The one thing I feel like I haven’t commented on enough in this fic is Snape

His character is well done, he’s so mean and bitchy but not like completely evil which is just hilarious, I love his and Remus’s dynamic its very good

I also think his relationship with Harry is funny, and I’m glad it’s not as shitty as it started out.

“Harry, friendly and bright-eyed, took the opportunity of silence to lean onto the counter, put his face right up to the goblin’s, and say, “Meow.”

Remus pulled Harry off the counter, embarrassed, and plopped him on the ground. “Don’t meow at people, love.”

That is actually the silliest cutest thing I’ve ever read in my entire life. Literally would birth a child rn bc of how cute that is. Jesus fucking christ bruh

Can they stop making out in public. Like in front of one other person in public. Its so awk

Why can I not escape my Draco phase. One sentence about “the little Malfoy” and harry going on playdates and I RUSH to think about how that changes their school dynamic and how they treat each other and all this shit

My favorite parts

ANGST: very well done, miscommunication can sometimes be overdone but I feel like it worked this time. I loved how easily apparent the love that was still there was. 

Humor: This fic made me laugh out loud multiple times. This was mostly Harry, but there were a couple of moments from the doctor guy and Arthur that made me giggle

CHILD: literally have never seen a child portrayal that was this good. Like literally from beginning to end it was good. I’m sure some people would read this fic and say 2 yo harry is too advanced, but he’s so bright and I feel like growing up with Remus would breed him to be a talker. The accuracy of the 8 yo and 11 yo at the end was good as well, it ticks me off when people fuck up ages of a child, especially one so parenting-focused as this

Depth of world building: I could truly see this world, like I understood the flat, I understood the weasleys, I understood the dorm at Hogwarts. The scene at their graves, everything was great.

Now my weaknesses

Some underdeveloped plots

Peter: they brought up having to talk to him, made it a big deal with getting a memory and then just abandoned it and said “remus had the perfect memory.” Then, the memory was SO MUNDANE. I’m sure the author just fucked up and had to figure something out, which is fine, just was a little dissapointing.

Poison: this is another where I think the plot just ran away from the author, but I was expecting something more than “Sirius asked them to fix it and they did”

Some(?) characterizations

Remus was perfect. Sirius was a little too nice, he’s volatile and little bitt crazy and I got less of that in this fic. Sometimes it was perfect. This isn’t really a criticism, more “it could be a little better”

Overall: 8.3/10

I truly adored this fic, probably my fave wolfstar so far. However, I know this is just because I love children and loved baby harry so much, so my rating is attempting to be unbiased.

Okay so I just finished with 5x08 and first off: fuck Justin’s dad. Second of all: damn, i wish that somehow it would’ve been Brian that had to help get Justin out of prison. I just know he’d have something to say but also would be very protective about it. Now: the Ted and Brian conversation KILLED me! The fact that Brian actually admitted all that to Ted? Fuck! I wish i could just give him a huge hug. Also, i love that Brian didn’t end up sleeping with that guy. Aso im glad the bet is over but i will say, the moment when the camera pans to Brian on the plane? I actually laughed so hard. No matter how bad an episode or storyline is, Brian is always funny. The ending got me though ngl. Part of me is confused and the other part is hoping that whatever that means it’s something good for Britin (the you can lock the doors, bar the windows but eventually it’ll get in’ part) he is killing me! Also honorable mentions: i love Lindsey and Brian’s friendship so much, and that moment when he banged his head in the attic before she told him about moving on from his past, if they didnt mention him hitting his head, id fully believe that Gale actually hit himself. And my all time favorite mention, that is actually also a fave Brian moment. I love that there are multiple moments throughout the series, where someone tells him nice things or compliments him or says they wanna help and he goes ‘thats so nice..now what do you need?’ Or like the getting Justin back from NY moment (which btw i still wish we got a little bit of a car moment for the back trip) when Emmett and Ted say theyre going with him because he’s their friend and he says thats nice, now whats the real reason?’ I just love how he always sees through a person and also never takes it as an insult but kinda loves it in a way. Anyway so sorry for rambling about episodes but it’s killing me that It’s ending slowly and there’s no one i know that watched/watches the show :/

Justin's dad being the same piece of shit he was since day one, disappointed but not surprised. The scene with Ted and Brian is one of my favourite ever moments, Brian's self awareness into how his parents fucked him up so that he cannot love properly without fear <- relatable. This is the angle I wish they'd leaned into for him in S5 can you imagine?! Also Ted and Brian's friendship developing at Kinnetik is so important to me.

Be grateful for small mercies he didn't sleep with him, that's not the blue eyed blonde he really wants.

It is bittersweet because anyone complimenting him in a real way or showing concern he finds it hard to hear, Brian is the caretaker that's his job, he does the fixing around here you flip it on him and he doesn't know how to deal with the vulnerability. So he covers it with wit and sarcasm, and addiction issues. Apart from the afore mentioned moment with Ted, however he said it didn't make him feel better, but it did Ted. He's not one to spill his guts - child of trauma syndrome.
