I feel weird about using the term gay for historical figures bc sexuality is made up and the ancient Romans didn’t see gay the same way we do, but at the same time Vergil liked men.
Like you get me? Using the term gay makes me feel weird because it puts historical context which doesn’t exist on vergil but also the vast majority of people who want to talk about queer history don’t have the patience to actually read about the way sexuality was conceptualized in the ancient word so I end up using the word gay to avoid the joke “and historians will call them close friends” but like. Gay didn’t exist the same way we see it today so when I say that I’m being wrong and reductionist.

Some Skylanders stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First what original fans definetely know and find funny, Ermit ad his cloud schizofrenia (even though considering Lighting rod's species and the fact they're almost all superb makes it justified).
First I pointed out that back then he said an adjective that is the name of another character, nothing serious I know but as a fan I wanted to 😅 then I pointed how he seems to be annoyed by cloud talk despite he insisted on them and maybe I understood wrong but what did he meant .

Secondly, we have the oracle level from GIANTS where we meet Clam-tron 4000 & Auric, at first I thought that they were just illusions because Octavius reads the skylanders mind but considering what they say I like to think they're behind some sort of Illusion trick and the true identity of the oracle, yes a reference to Wizard of Oz.

3rd, it's random but I have a feeling Transformers One's Alpha trion design looks like a fusion of Tree rex [same face] and the Npc named Gigantus because of the moss.

Finally, I like to relate the fact Skylanders went back and forth in time of 10.000 years to the past and future paradoxes in pokemon.
What do you think?

so yes absolutely, AND. You can include that in the world building (sometimes). With magic it’s easy to do a “medieval stasis” situation, where society has advanced very little technologically over the past millennia because why bother with all the dangerous, strenuous, time consuming research when you can just abracadabra it away. OR. or. These two countries have been locked in war for thousands of years. Literally fighting since before recorded history. They went from clubs to spears to muskets to tanks to railguns but one thing that has never changed is the omnipresent war. It has shaped these two societies, both grown and changed around this war but never escaping it. The disputed territory, which changes every so often, is left as a scarred, ruined landscape, used as a battlefield for hundreds of years, lifetimes on top of each other. A person over the age of fifty is a rarity, as most people go off to the war at 20 or so. Both have economic systems built around warfare. Neither sees an end to the conflict that is a fact of life for them as it was for their parents and their parents before them and on and on for longer than anyone knows, but at this point neither can stop fighting. I’m getting a little carried away here but you get the point you can make it “thousands of years” but do make it Thousands of Years. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
pro-tip: don't ever use the sentence "thousands of years" in your worldbuilding unless you really know what a thousand years is like
