Why I love traveling by train 🚂🚃

There's something magical about train journeys that never fades for me, whether it's a high-speed express or a nigh train.

Sitting by the window with a cup of hot tea, music playing softly in my ears and watching as the landscape changes outside is pure bliss. The rhythmic motion of the train and the soothing sounds of the tracks always full me into a peaceful state. At night, the gentle swaying of the train rocks me to sleep like nothing else can.

When the train makes a long stop, I love stepping outside a breath of fresh air and standing on solid ground for a moment it's a refreshing pause in the journey.

Train rides often come with interesting encounters. Sometimes I meet wonderful fellow passengers who add warmth to the trip. Other times, there are less pleasant neighbors.

For me, trains bring back the simple joys of childhood watching the scenery race by, feeling the excitement of a journey and cherishing the small yet beautiful moments on the tracks.

olympics coming up…… athlete aus on the mind….. satoru as a swimmer….. unreasonably large wingspan…. huge hands..... thinks “official” competitions and tournaments are boring because he can’t use the goofy purple googly eyes goggles he likes to practice in…… practices at ungodly hours solely because he likes when the pool is empty because that means you’ll dip your feet in at the edge and be there to greet him with a kiss when he’s finished his laps….. they bring up the stats board and it’s just his name ten times before the next fastest person and he could still lap them, and even tho he’ll always put so much pressure on himself to be the best, it’s worth it to have you hold his face and tell him you’re proud of him... he’s gotten so much merch from events and sponsorships and he used to think they just created clutter but that all changes when you start to wear his clothes (esp the ones with his name on it… he’s not proud to admit that does Something to him)…. always looks up to the stands when he finishes a race and if he knows you’re not there, he looks right at the camera, draws an infinity sign with his fingers, and blows a kiss (which, some commentators routinely call “unsportsmanlike conduct” but he doesn’t care, and always, publicly says he’ll pay the fees if it means blowing a kiss to his girl at home)

Watching Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron again as an adult is so great because not only do you appreciate the nostalgia and joy of it, the stunning 2D animation mixed with early 3D techonology and well written tight story with a main character that never speaks.

But also you appreciate that the plot relies on horses, despite not being typical talking horses in cartoons, being extremely intelligent to the point that they are aware of their captivity and exploitation. And it involves a hyper intelligent horse dismantling (or, at the very least significantly delaying) American colonialism's expansion into the west.

This horse also very likely killed many colonialists when they were either launched at high speeds from his back, kicked in the head or blown up in a train explosion.

Good for him.

I like to think that the Train to Eternity can pop up anywhere if Billy just whistles for it. Like the League is on some desolate planet with no way home and Cap shrugs like “don’t even worry about it.”

Just to preface, I have a headcanon where every time the train is used, it changes what kind of vehicle it is. The tracks are the same, but one time it’ll appear as a limo, another time It’s a carriage, it can even be a spaceship!

He whistles and suddenly train tracks just…appear on this obviously destitute planet. They’re weirdly clean too.

And then the train zooms in(as a futuristic hover train this time). Everyone else is so confused. Like where did this random train come from?

Oh, and Tawny is the conductor. Billy would LOVE to drive the train one day but apparently the ONE time where he drove the (then) steam locomotive into the Rock was a dealbreaker🙄

Oh ALSO, Billy is very extra so he allows the train to pick up magical creatures and users when they want to go somewhere that’s too far for travel. So imagine the league gets on the train and there’s a huge hive of fairies surrounding a tree that hunkered in the train.

Billy’s fine with it, Tawny nearly breaks off the wheel to keep himself from swatting them off the train, and it’s another day where everyone has questions, but they know not to ask them.
