Reading Transformers (2009) #22

Ironhide telling Optimus that him and Megatron should hav a proper talk, even offering to do it instead cuz Optimus has been "putting it off" is hilarious to me.

(I jumped straight to #22, so idk what came before this but I have some inkling based on the dialogues, I will probbly read the rest at a later time)

Optimus sitting with his arms on his legs, leaning forward as he stares down Megatron. Who is sat and laid-back, leg up on a knee with his hands up behind his head is just. Wow.

He rly said, "aight this is gonna b a long chat might as well b comfy"

Megatron did not in fact look him in the eye and told Optimus he wants it ended.

Also, Swindle taking the lead would just b a rly funny thought tho. Cant say much on the guy since I only know a few things abt him (gotta check out the Combaticons and deep dive into their characters someday)

A part of me agrees with Prowl, cuz lik its Megatron, pretty big deal. But at the same time, the more rational part of me agrees with Bumblebee(?).

Big man said privacy, shut the door and pulled down the curtains but forgot to mute, and yall took that as a go to eavesdrop?

But aside from that, thats one way to say that anytime OP is within the vicinity of Megatron hes compromised and is doubted on whether he can b trusted to make the right decision. Which is CRAZY 🙉

And then he yells at them to gtfo when Hot Rod(?) points out that they were gettin a little too chummy during their 1 on 1 private chat (not so private since there were others listening in). Which. Okay. They kinda were, thats true.

Cuz they b talking abt morality, Megatrons whole... thing, when they first met, and them maiming each other in the battle field...

LITERALLY THEY EVEN HUFFED A LAUGH AT EACH OTHER AS THEY REMINISCE ABT IT

Anyways... this is my second TF comic, so imma hold off on saying anything big, but so far so good. Or as good as u can b when reading TF Comics where nothing and no one is ever happy apparently 🗿

(My first TF comic was TF Skybound, which just, it was just miserable all around. Ppl and bots were dying, they fcking killed Ratchet, they keep disrespecting Soundwave, Shockwave grinded whales for some fcking reason, Skywarp became an attachment to the Ark ship, Starscream got attached to a fcking tank and... haah...... 🤦‍♀️

Suffice to say, there was lik, 2 good things that I took from Skybound and its that "fck yes I agree, Astrotrain, kick Megatron in the ass" and "Beachcomber, u are now an addition to characters i lik, plsdontdie"

Something that makes me sad is that it doesn’t seem like the more recent Transformers series get any supplementary material to further explore their worlds and characters

Like Animated has the AllSpark Almanac, Prime has a bunch of stuff because it’s part of Aligned, but if you wanted you could probably just say the Covenant of Primus, G1 also is chock full of stuff because there’s so many spin-offs that supposedly take place in the same universe as it, and I mean there’s technically two versions of it between the cartoon and the Marvel comics, and hell even the Bayverse movies had tie-in comics explaining the origins of the war and certain characters, from what I gather

Meanwhile, as far as I can tell, neither Cyberverse nor Earthspark have really had anything outside of the shows themselves to really delve into the details of the world that they can’t get into in the show, and I think that’s a real shame

Earthspark in particular, because I want to know more details about the war and how it started, but the show won’t go into it. And I understand why they might not touch on it, because the point of the show is to explore the post-war situation of the Transformers, but can we not have some sort of guidebook that delves into this history? You could even market it as like, an in-universe guide made by the Autobots, or maybe Alex since he’s very knowledgeable on Cybertronian history, possibly even GHOST but they might be outdated at this rate (and probably biased), to explain to the younger characters the basics on the war

I personally would just really like to get more information on these worlds, and it’s a shame Hasbro doesn’t seem to be giving us that like they would prior
