ya because it totally couldn’t be a sign that Avery might be looking into turning back into a girl...
https://nypost.com/2023/02/22/four-out-of-five-kids-who-question-their-gender-grow-out-of-it-trans-expert/
Today in transphobic idiocy...
Avery Jackson did a non-medical transition at the age of four. At the time, they felt more comfortable as a girl. As they grew up and their understanding of gender evolved, they decided nonbinary transgender suited them better.
And now that they are 15, their family is moving out of Missouri because they fear the recent draconian anti-trans laws.
"No longer identifies as a girl" does not mean they identify as a boy. They are still trans. They knew from the age of 4 that being a boy was not right for them.
I don't think they changed their mind. I think they just found a better understanding of who they were.
These bigots know nothing about trans people yet think they are qualified to criticize them.

Here's an interesting article, with numbers out of Germany - and a little bit from Netherlands
It shows that the vast majority of young people who claim being trans grow out of it - even 20-24yr olds

"Cringe is Dead" Ok will you start using 'Enby' again or are we still not allowed our own Vocabulary because it "sounds weird"?
#everyday I have to put myself into a box that doesn’t fit just to be allowed to feel relatable#none of these sayings/relatable trends ever includes us#at no times do binary people have to relate to us even in the slightest way#we are only they/thems (even if we don't use those pronouns) and that's as far as inclusion goes#we can't have a mom/dad style shortening cause there is only parent#not ever something short or cute or intimate!#just because the one time we made a word for ourselves it was deemed too stupid and hey what do these transtrenders know anyway#if we never include words for them then maybe they will go away (we didn’t)#chitter media#the q stands for queer#non binary#nonbinary#enby#lgbtq community#lgbtq+#lgbtqia

Some More (Bad) AWESOME MLA Takes
This will be R-18, so if you are a minor, don't hit that cut link.
First off, someone did a post about Fascism in My Hero Academia based on some bad MLA takes they saw here and on Twitter. I'm not sure if my takes are part of that, but basically when I throw out the 'fascist leaning NAZI anarchist cult' accusations, I don't mean them any deeper than saying, "The MLA are very bad people. After all, Curious tried to murder a child because it would make a good martyr story to boost their favorability ratings in public opinion (x many other MLA atrocities)."
No, I don't think they are Nazis. No, I don't think they are fascists. Now it could be argued they are anarchists, and my writings lean into the cult head canon heavily, especially in Geten's POV. Mostly I mean it in the same way a leftist will call anybody who disagrees with them a 'Nazi', the difference being that I'm throwing it out facetiously, whereas the leftist who calls me a Nazi would throw a brick at my head and murder me if they could. On that note, I saw this on Twitter today:
Can these gender studies fanatics ever see past themselves? ReD and Trumpet are grown-ass middle aged men who live in a fictional Japanese city, even if they are Caucasian passing. No middle aged, white or Japanese businessman on the entire planet earth would give a greasy goat's balls of God damn about misgendering someone. That is almost exclusively 100% a female thing, especially amongst blue haired dog or cat momma leftists.
Side note: It would be more fun if Trumpet reported to ReD's office saying, "Maid service! Time to run the vacuum under your desk!" *eyebrow wiggle*
I could see a scenario where Geten somehow gets talked into doing the 'they/them' bullshit browsing too much Tumblr. ReD would report himself to Trumpet as a joke. Since Trumpet is sort of like that cool uncle to Geten, he'd have a little talk with him to let him know what's what. He'd explain to Geten that he shouldn't get pulled into the gender bullshit because it has f-all to do with becoming the perfect murder machine. After all, his powerful Ice Ply ability makes him the pinnacle of humanity, whereas the people into the gender bs are generally the most gullible of stupid idiots who will believe any cockamamie bullshit philosophy anybody throws at them, even if there is no scientific evidence to back it up.
"Now if you happen to meet such people," Trumpet would say, "Make sure you give them a copy of Meta Liberation War and have them attend meetings. We're always looking for impressionable suckers to become disposable shock troops for the Liberation Army. After all, to give one's life for the cause of Liberation is most noble."
Geten would reply, "Thanks for imparting all your adult wisdom to me, Uncle Cunty. You have such a way with words!"
Later, Geten would get a second opinion from Skeptic who is and always was a super genius going all the way back to when he was a mensa level child prodigy GATE kid. He'd ask him what he thought of trans people, and Skeptic would show him this meme:
You aren't trans......

That opinion would be based on their healer Recovery Girl who I'd written about in one of my fics. I had written: Once called Recovery Bro, he was a huge hulking 6'6" brute who resembled the most simian of Skeptic's puppets. One day, he had up and left his wife and four kids to transition into a trans female toddler complete with blonde pigtails and teddy bear clutched in his arm. He was the most talented healer Detnerat fortune could acquire, and so they put up with his eccentricities. Skeptic had chalked the lifestyle change up to trans brainwashing via an online porn addiction.
Staying on the topic of Geten, one of the bad takes that really pisses me off is how MLA fans will act like his bigotry toward Dabi made him an outlier, whereas all the others weren't bigoted at all. They say it's because he's the Apocrypha who goes his own way. The others are compassionate tolerant freedom fighters who murder children, amputate fingers and use psychological torture against their enemies. I happen to think Geten is the way he is because all the others had a hand in his raising and taught him everything he knows. It wasn't just ReD who was a surrogate father.
After ReD gave Geten a pep talk before the Dabi battle.......
.......good old Uncle Trumpet also put loving hands on Geten's shoulders and gave him some advice. He told him to make sure he tries to sound nice and doesn't act like too much of a dick about it when he tells Dabi he is a sad pathetic loser with a weak meta ability.
"Make it sound like you are doing him a kindness ending his life," Trumpet would tell him, "After all, he'd probably end up dying alone, like, a week from now as a result of some mishap pertaining to his weed and internet porn addiction."
Geten would give him a hug and tell him he'd be there with him in spirit during the Dabi confrontation.
One more thing, if it's true ReD is enamored with Shigaraki as the new leader of the PLF, it might be because he thinks it's actually stupid. He hopes Shig will completely demolish the organization and allow him to have whatever he has left of his life back.
Maybe when quirks were brand new, and most people were still quirkless, Destro's vision might have made some sense and came across noble. In modern times, it would be a farce. Society would have to regulate meta abilities, and in the same sense, it would be impossible to because there's too much variety and too much of the unknown. There might be a lot of crimes and murders where detectives are shaking their heads not even knowing what they are looking at. Viewers have to give the MHA world a lot of poetic license because looking too deep into it makes it all fall apart.
If ReD wanted to see the MLA taken down, he'd be at a dilemma not knowing how to break it to the three remaining lieutenants who are completely loyal to him, even if their personal motivations are quite different. Only Geten might be deluded to believe in the actual cause, whereas Trumpet would be in it for the status and monetary gain, and Skep is in it for fun and because he has really weird hobbies. :-D

I mostly just reblog what other people say about this topic and not make original posts about it but like
I really don’t understand why having a word specifically for the transphobia trans masc’s experience is bad?? Like genuinely why does it matter?
I’ve seen the argument that its like MRA stuff but Trans, but at least in my POV the MRA type stuff I used to see in the past was like similar to when het people say there should be a straight pride parade or white people saying there should be a white history month or w/e which is obviously like, super unhelpful, like people being willfully ignorant of their privilege
But I don’t really see that with trans men wanting to use transandrophobia/transmisandry as a term and wanting to talk about specific transphobia they face as trans mascs, like I think the people against using transandrophobia as a term wanna imply that whenever a transfem talks about transmisogyny theres *always* a a trans guy that wants to take over the conversation and talk about himself, which?? I dont think that happens???
And if it does, than that trans dude is being an asshole, but it doesn’t mean that trans mascs as a whole cant talk about the shit that affects them.
Trans women can talk about transmisogyny and trans men can talk about transmisandry, that shouldn’t be a controversial statement
#vent#i stg every year theres new bullshit the lgbt community decides to in fight incessantly about#and then years later without fail people will go ‘oh that was pretty fuckin stupid to argue about actually’#i remember when acephobia was rampant#and don’t even get me started on the whole transtrenders bs#transandrophobia#txt

I really wish people would talk more about concepts like rapid onset gender dysphoria and just how awful that misinformation was.
I dunno, i just never see people talk about it. Or how negatively it's affected a lot of trans people. Especially Trans men, transmascs and nonbinary people.
It's obviously a stupid concept, but a lot of people bought into it. And used it as an excuse to try and isolate young trans people from the community.
I remember when I first came out, one of the first things i was told was that I needed to stop researching about transition and stop going in queer spaces online. Because a person thought that's where I was getting the idea that I was actually a guy. Luckily I was allowed to change my name, but everybody thought it was a phase. Something that'd pass. So I isolated myself. And i was fucking miserable.
I feel like this concept of 'rapid onset gender dysphoria' also fed into the idea of transtrenders. And also the exorsexism that led to the wide-spread use of slurs like theyfab. People assumed that trans teens (especially transmascs/men and nonbinary people) who had only realised during or after puberty that they were not cisgender were faking it. Or that they only thought that because of interacting with queer spaces.
#transandrophobia#original posts#sorry if this makes no sense#its late and i've been up since like... 5am#i have no idea how to end this post either

Hopefully we have the turn around where this kind of crap will be mocked in our culture for centuries. Remember when there were a million stupid genders and clannish small-minded females on social media would bully you for not being a true believer? Remember when the USAID used to fund this as a psyop? Remember when people used to pass off weird fetishes as biological reality?
School kids would turn those stupid symbols into creative little monsters and sea creatures.
Again....

Study has been debunked - because it specifically went for people who had the full on gender transition surgery. there’s no real way of ever going back after that.
there are studies showing that especially children and teens who express gender dysphoria simply grow out of it
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23702447/
- 80% detransition rate, but it was all from kids and teens who had only socially transitioned, nothing medical
Mind you, most of them did end up turning out to be gay, bi or lesbian... mind you, that study has also been greatly poopoo’d and slandered by pro-trans nutjobs because it is poison to their narrative. I mean, I’d much rather trust a scientific study than a huffpost article saying its no true, because huffpo is such a beacon of journalistic legitimacy.
Then again, its not exactly easy to find unbiased sources on this - because all the pro-trans activist organizations will of course champion their narrative, which makes googling for information on this really damn difficult
here’s a study from ‘21 showing that the US has a detransition rate among its adult trans folks of around 13% https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8213007/
Hell, the r/detrans subreddit has nearly 50.000 users, and is an endless sea of stories of people who feel shit about what was done to their bodies and minds. If detransitioners are as rare as the bullshit activist propaganda from erininthemorning would have it, then that subreddit would not have numbers like that.
“How dare facts get in the way of my gender activism” - some huffpo writer
The study itself is titled, “Long-Term Regret and Satisfaction With Decision Following Gender-Affirming Mastectomy,” and sought to study the rate of regret and satisfaction after 2 years or more following gender affirming top surgery. The study’s results were stunning - in 139 surgery patients, the median regret score was 0/100 and the median satisfaction score was 5/5 with similar means as well. In other words… regret was virtually nonexistent in the study among post-op transgender people. In fact, the regret was so low that many statistical techniques would not even work due to the uniformity of the numbers: In this cross-sectional survey study of participants who underwent gender-affirming mastectomy 2.0 to 23.6 years ago, respondents had a high level of satisfaction with their decision and low rates of decisional regret. The median Satisfaction With Decision score was 5 on a 5-point scale, and the median decisional regret score was 0 on a 100-point scale. This extremely low level of regret and dissatisfaction and lack of variance in scores impeded the ability to determine meaningful associations among these results, clinical outcomes, and demographic information. The numbers are in line with many other studies on satisfaction among transgender people. Detransition rates, for instance, have been pegged at somewhere between 1-3%, with transgender youth seeing very low detransition rates. Surgery regret is in line with at least 27 other studies that show a pooled regret rate of around 1% - compare this to regret rates from things like knee surgery, which can be as high as 30%. Gender affirming care appears to be extremely well tolerated with very low instances of regret when compared to other medically necessary care.
[...]
The intense conservative backlash, to the point of disputing reputable scientific journals, likely stems from the fact that reduced regret rates weaken a central narrative these figures have championed in legal and legislative spaces. Over the past three years, anti-trans entities have showcased political detransitioners, reminiscent of the ex-gay campaigns from the 1990s and 2000s, to argue that regrets over gender transition and detransition are widespread. Some have even asserted detransition rates of up to 80%, a claim that has been broadly debunked. Yet, research consistently struggles to find substantial evidence supporting this narrative. The rarity of detransition and regret is underscored by Florida's inability to enlist a single resident to bear witness against a lawsuit challenging the state's ban on gender-affirming care.

trans women & transfems have to jump through near impossible hoops to be gendered correctly and seen as real women. it's very true, very present in just about every pocket of society in general including trans spaces. it's so hard for other people to accept trans women as real women no matter what they do. this is important to discuss. there is something else to add to the conversation of the struggles trans people face, which is that trans men & mascs also have to jump through these same hurdles
if a trans man is not a hyper masculine or "normal" level of masculine cis passing dude, they're misgendered. if trans men do not or refuse to appeal to toxic masculine standards of what a "real man" is they're misgendered and disregarded as a stupid cis girl who's too stupid to think for themselves and is misguided and doesn't know what manhood "really" means. if trans men don't painstakingly try night and day, increase their T doses and focus on doing nothing but masculinizing, going to the gym, having only "male" interests. hanging out with only cishet men. if they don't do these things, they are not seen as men at all and are viewed as dumb cis girls.
if they're a masculine trans man, they're a "Confused butch lesbian" or a "tranny dyke". if they're a feminine trans man, they're called "quirky cis girls who need to feel special" or "transtrenders". if they're a gay man they're called a "tranny fag" or a fujoshi or a cishet woman. if they're genderfluid or bigender they're either called "AFAB" enbies or cis girls wanting to be special. if they're a feminine nonbinary person, they're called a quirky cis girl wanting to be special. if they're bigender they're called a quirky cis girl who wants attention. people threaten trans men & transmascs with corrective sexual assault in order to "force them to realize they're just stupid women", and unfortunately, this happens within the queer community as well as the tons of people outside of the community do it, mostly in both rad fem & specific transfeminine circles, though many other people do it as well.
trans men & mascs are constantly reduced to their genitals. people will say it's great for transfems & trans women to have penises, but it's gross for trans men to have vaginas. trans men who do have vaginas are reduced to them, and referred to in very disgusting, sexualized fashions when that trans man never consented to that or asked for it. trans men & mascs are reduced to sex objects & being women if they have vaginas. they're just stupid cis women who need to be fucked in order to remember that. if they have penises, they are mocked and told their penises are gross, among way worse things.
are we noticing a pattern here?
trans men & mascs have to perform to the most extreme toxic masculine standards in order to have anyone, cis, trans and everyone else to accept that they are masc/a man. when someone finds out someone is a trans man and/or masc they instantly start finding ways to reduce them to "quirky cis girls". people start instantly finding ways to misgender and de-gender them and all kinds of invalidating things such as questioning everything about them and treating them like they're too stupid to think for themselves.
trans men & mascs also do not have it easy and its okay to say that. i'm not saying that trans women & fems don't face these exact same things with being gendered correctly in fact, i'm saying they're very similar and just as bad. these are serious things to discuss at once in order to reveal just how bad transphobia is and how many people it affects. it's okay to talk about these things at the same time, it provides insight into what is happening to other trans people as well. we all have unique struggles. its okay to acknowledge that, and use words to describe it so that we can create open ended discussions and long lasting conversations that prove that what we are going through as a community is brutal and eats us alive.
we are all struggling. let that unite us so we can provide safety, comfort, understanding, and protection. the more we understand each others struggles, the easier to protect each other becomes, and it is a mutual thing, it is not purely one sided!

'when you go on and on'- when you're referring to traumatised people speaking on their trauma as 'going on and on', you've already started this conversation on a very bad foot. But lets go on to the rest of it.
'this strange concept that you are socially shunned for not medically transitioning'- this concept is strange to you? Is this the first time I get to introduce you to ✨transmedicalism✨ and the word ✨transtrender✨ and ✨medical misogyny✨
'or passing'- you don't think there are people who socially shun visibly trans people more than the ones they can pretend don't exist?
'reaffirming that trans men are nothing but traumatised women'-
This statement is absolutely fucking disgusting. What twisted logic is this?
'Yes. You were traumatised. BUt dont talk about it otherwise you're agreeing with people who want you dead. 🥰'.
Not to mention that this implies there is something lesser about being traumatised. I may not be a traumatised woman. But I am certainly a traumatised man. That does not make me lesser. That does not make me broken. That does not justify me being infantilised or treated as less than. This entire spiel of yours has pretty much just been 'you don't get to talk about being oppressed, otherwise you justify that oppression.' wtf is wrong with you?
Not to mention, this would absolutely not be socially acceptable to say to cis women. Imagine hearing a cis women go: '1 in 6 women experience rape/attempted rape and this has affected me deeply' and your response is- 'you can't say that! You're minimising yourself. YOu're equivalent to misogynists who say you're weak and stupid.'
Throughout this little think piece of yours you demonstrate not just a fundamental misunderstanding of what transphobic misogynists think about trans men, but just generally a contempt for victims of misogynistic abuse. In fact your argument is that victims of misogynistic abuse speaking on it, justifies more misogynistic abuse.
The last line really drives it home 'it is essentially that concept'.
'Trans men are systematically oppressed and infantilised, they are abused and treated badly and it is important to draw attention to the fact of the world we are living in' =/= 'Trans men deserve to be systematically oppressed and infantilised, they deserve to be abused and treated badly

You mentioned in response to another ask that you don't use "transandrophobia" because the trans theory you were taught by trans women told you that "transmisogyny" covered those things and that is a total revelation to me. I've been thinking for a long time that it seemed to me that the idea of transmisogyny *does* cover transandrophobia, it just impacts trans femmes and trans mascs differently a lot of the time. But I had no idea that there has been theory/discussion that says this. I'm more used to the idea of "TMA" with the implication that only trans women are affected by transmisogyny. Is that more of a new thing and transmisogyny used to be considered as a more broad term? And would you trace that change to the same issue you're talking about with a lot of current feminism forgetting how feminism is also a "men's issue"?
Idk if I would call it "new" per say. The word trans-misogyny was coined in 2007 and did not include trans men, but the book in which it was coined did mention that language was likely needed to describe the trans man experience as well. There have been a number of different attempts, but none have really stuck.
I went to college starting in 2010, so roughly 3 years after Serrano coined the word. While in college, my school's GSA wanted LGBT elders to come and talk to all the scared freshly-minted adults who were trying to figure out this being gay thing. The woman who ran my GSA found a Trans woman who was willing to be my mentor and sponsor, she wrote my letters for me back when that was still necessary for medical transition, and we met frequently for her to teach me more or less how to be trans safely. Some things she did not know- how to bind safely, how to attach a semi-permenant packer, etc. But others she knew very well, because she herself dealt with both being seen as a man by society as well as the effects of testosterone on her body for decades before she transitioned.
Anyway. This woman was great, and is a significant portion of the reason I'm still alive to this day. And she is who taught me the word transmisogyny, and that it should really cover all trans people because all trans people experience an intersection of transphobia and misogyny. Whether that was popular theory at the time or not, that is what us young kids learned directly from the mouths of trans women at my college, which to me means that others were also learning this particular version of transfeminist theory.
Unfortunately by the time I dropped out of college in 2013/2014, online trans spaces were having stupid arguments such as "transtrenders are bad" and "neopronouns are bad" and "nonbinary people are cis people who want to feel special" and "trans men should be hunted for sport" and "trans women are incel nazis" and. Well. I went "wow this place is a cesspit and I feel like no one here has actually talked to another transgender person face to face" and then did not engage with the online community. So I don't really know how common or popular the understanding I was taught was at the time, though it certainly seems quite rare now.
(As a caveat I don't really think trans people of any gender have anything that isn't similar with each other when it comes to oppression, outside of certain bodily things that can't be helped because that's literally the thing we're transgender about, and I think we all experience very similar oppression but sometimes with a different hat)
As for what caused this particular defining to fall into obscurity? I really can't say. I don't know how popular the transfeminist theory the trans women who spoke at my GSA meetings taught us actually was in the broader world. Every once in a while I meet someone who lived through that same time who remembers that theory, which tells me it had gained at least some traction if it was being discussed in multiple parts of the country, but... that's really it. And it's pretty unpopular theory nowadays, I get people calling me a scumbag and claiming that I say transmisogyny doesn't exist just for mentioning that the theory I was taught includes trans men in the discussion.
But I don't think it's specifically the whole TMA/TME thing. I think it's a lack of understanding of what oppression and what intersectionality are, how they operate, how they work, how we define things through them. There are many people who believe that men do not experience misogyny. But, they do, that's why it's an insult to a boy to call him a girl during a moment of femininity or vulnerability, as a means of calling him weak because girls are believed to be weak. There are many people who think intersectionality turns oppression into additives, as though stacking marginalizations like dnd buffs. This also falls apart because oppression is not like quick math where you add a +5 to every roll if any part of your identity is privileged and a -7 if any part is oppressed.
I've had people get mad at me for saying that straight people experience homophobia while we also have sitting politicians that make jokes on live TV about how they'd drown their (presumably straight) children if they found out their kids were gay. For saying that GNC cis people experience transphobia when butches are getting kicked out of bathrooms and drag queens are getting jumped in bars. For reminding people that when Sikhs are killed due to being mistaken for Muslim in this country that hates Muslims over a national tragedy our Muslim population did not cause, it's still considered and called Islamophobia, because just because Americans are too stupid to tell a Sikh from a Muslim doesn't mean they weren't spurred into that hate crime by their rampant hatred of Muslims and the sight of a turban and long beard.
