Also it’s insane to me I didn’t even KNOW African rocks could be albino . It seems like a manmade breeding thing mostly which is a little concerning but STILL EXCITING !!

This chapter was called A Nickel-Plated Emperor in the book because in this chapter, the Tin Woodman revealed that after becoming ruler of Winkieland, he had "lately caused himself to be nickel-plated." So that he wouldn't rust anymore.

But the thing is that tin doesn't rust. Most stuff called "tin" in Baum's day were actually another metal coated with tin to deter rust. The Tin Woodman was most likely a tin-plated iron woodman who rusted because his tin coating wore thin from constant use. A nickel plating seems redundant to me, but not obviously redundant enough to work as a joke.

So, I, uh... so, I changed the chapter title.

Why he's standing in that position instead of in the middle of chopping down a tree, I'll explain in a later chapter.

while I expected lots of cute moments with bb-8 and pew-pew adventures in Poe Dameron: Flight Log (which, don’t get me wrong, I definitely did get and was very happy about!!) along with lots of cool ship specs and tech details—

what I wasn’t expecting (a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one) was several instances of incredibly heartfelt, evocative, and sweet introspections from Poe on his family, upbringing, philosophy / ethics, the resistance, and love 🥺 so many sweet characterization tidbits in this book, I really enjoyed reading it ♡

if you’re interested in reading it as well, I borrowed it (for free!) on internet archive which I highly highly recommend, it was such a fun read and it’s very easy & user-friendly to borrow books from them!

Guys, I'mma get started and try to get through as many episodes as I can but my son has found his voice and now I have 8 years worth of communication to catch up on, so.... bare with me.

We're now getting to season 2 and the relationship between Garazeb and Kallus is about to take a turn. I want to flesh that out more, because yes the character started being the villain, but with his concern for Lothal suffering at what The Ghost crew do, noticing the skills of each member, the deaths of his colleagues... the history of Kallus on Lasan.

So many layers here... so without further ado...

OP Advent Day 9: Snow!

My 2023 art summary 🙂 I haven’t included any #jjba ones in here - I still feel like (and have occasionally been accused of being) a one trick pony when it comes to my pictures, so I wanted to see how un-JoJo my summary could be 🙂 I don’t think it’s too bad! I have done a few different things this year - I felt a bit more confident with One Piece stuff, and I LOVED doing more storybook pictures of Under the Oak Tree 😍 ATM I feel I’ve just about reached the end of my JoJo run (I still have more to do, but new ideas don’t occur to me so frequently anymore 😐) hopefully I can keep the storybook art going with some different things to try 🙂 . I have also done a JoJo only art summary, but it don’t know if I’ll post I yet 🤷‍♀️

A concept: A Percy Jackson and the Olympians X One Piece crossover featuring Percy, Annabeth and Grover (other demigods may show up), but it starts with the most unexpected character: Grover.

Grover who has not been on a quest in a while.

Grover who wakes up in a new world, on strange boat, no Percy or Annabeth in sight, a world without Nymphs and Satyrs, a world that is unrecognizable. Grover, who panics, notices that the boat has a goat figurehead and lies straight to the faces of the Straw Hats. Suddenly Grover is their Klabautermann. How else is he supposed to explain being a half-goat?

Turns out Merry (the actual Klabautermann) is still around, but only Grover can see her for now. So, they decide to work together and keep up the lie as Grover hitches a ride with this random pirate crew as he tries to find his friends. Except, he's also spent a lot of time around angsty, self-sacrificial, depressed, powerful teenagers, and well, he can't just leave them alone. He's a protector, and if he's going to pretend to be their ship, he should commit.

Fast forward to Grover, basically acting as a ship's guard/protector of the Straw Hats. After all, a little woodland magic never hurt anyone too bad.

He and Usopp get really close, and he lets the crew know about Merry existing because he doesn't want to keep them from loving her:

Grover: So, I'm not the only spirit on this ship.

Luffy: Woah! Double haunting!

Grover (absolutely bullshitting): yeah, I'm just the spirit of the trees Merry was made of; it's why my name is Grover, like a grove of trees! The spirit of your boat, the true Klabautermann, their name is Merry!

Usopp: Can we meet her?

Grover: Soon! She's a little weak, but Klabautermann can manifest if they are well-loved by their crew.

Nami: Wait, if you're the grove of trees, are you dead?! Are we walking around and living in your corpse?!

Grover: what? no, no-

Usopp: Oh my god we're MONSTERS!

Luffy: AHHHHH Grover we killed you! I'm sorry!

Zoro: Do we need to build you a shrine to help you pass on?

Sanji: No stupid! if anything we'd have to burn the ship!

Usopp: WE CAN'T BURN MERRY!

Chaos descends upon the ship

Grover: I may have fucked up.

Look.... luffy enablers vs normal rational people

I was like yeah sure luffy was saying he wanted to become king of the pirates but rayleigh didn't explicitly say roger wanted to become pirate king just that people called him that so I am SURE shanks is saying luffy has the same dream we don't know about as Roger. Which lines up bc luffy said shanks knew of it and then in wano ace tells yamato and he says roger said the same thing and ace also knew of it!!! Which is crazy that it's set up this early but EVERYTHING is being set up here

Shakky the mother that stepped up.... also new conspiracy theory shakky is Hancock's mother bc she is a fan of luffy and hancock is too.... she was busy being a pirate to take care of hancock so she feels incredibly guilty about what happened to her so shakky either hasn't told her and hancock doesn't know or they have a difficult relationship. Yeah sure whatever. I dont care if rayleigh is her father or not bc as you know I believe in asexual reproduction in one piece thank you.
