Tendon pain
Pairing: Trick Williams x Fem reader
Description: Trick helps you deal with tendonitis in your forearm
Groans of pain echo throughout the room as you lay as still as you can from the pain coursing through your whole body starting and mostly your forearm unable to control the tears and whimpers of pain that pour out. You had injured your forearm earlier in the year and been dealing with small amounts of pain since but nothing this bad finally going to a doctor finding out it was tendonitis having pulled one of the tendons from the injury trying to find ways to deal with the growing and unbearable pain not even being able to move your arm without bursting into quiet cries or tears lifting your head up when Trick comes home from working out with Carmelo knowing that you were in a bit of pain but he wasn't expecting to find you in a ball crying begging for the pain to stop as he rubs your back "Here baby I think this will help" he wraps your arms in a heated towel feeling a bit of the pain go away but after an hour it was futile looking at him when he slowly grabs your arm wincing "Baby what are you doing?" he slowly opens a box noticing that it was lidocaine patches that he would use if he was in pain from pulled muscles feeling your heart stop at the cold that runs through you. Soon thanks to the patch you not only moved your arm without having to stop but you even fell asleep after doing a few things around the house and watching movies with trick who smiles seeing you asleep under the covers changing the patch out an hour later as you sleep knowing how it sometimes feels weaker as time goes on realizing it had been two hours since the first one was put on waking up to find trick playing with your shared dog Snoopy while making dinner smiling as you lean up sharing a kiss "Thank you for letting me use your patches babe" the two of you watch more movies after dinner smiling at him kissing your knuckles before you were snuggled against him.

Carmelo Hayes x Fem!Reader relationship headcanons
You are the power couple of NXT
And have been since day one
Despite debuting as heels, the audience loves you
He flirts with you and shows you off any chance he gets
Your dynamic is very similar to Rhea and Dominick of the Judgement Day
You’re very overprotective of each other
You more than him
He has to calm you down whenever anyone insults him before you try to kill the person
He hates when you take any hits for him
He swore his heart stopped when you pushed him out the way and let Bron spear you instead
He talks your ear off all the time
You find it very cute :)
He’s just so comfortable with you, he wants to tell you everything and anything because you’re his safe space.
You both plan spontaneous dates for each other every week to take the pressure off of being champions and to spend more time together outside of work.
You buy him little gifts that remind you of him and hide it in his locker room with a note from you with your signature at random times.
He absolutely loves it, and keeps every single one.
You gifted him a necklace once with your initials on it and he wears it to every match, calling it his good luck charm.
You both have each other’s names on the side plates on your titles.
He definitely spoils you a lot
You eyeing something in a store? He’s buying it for you.
He finds something online he knows you would like? He is buying it for you.
You feel bad, but he doesn’t care. You’re his girl and he’ll spoil you rotten till the day he dies.
You guys definitely wear matching gear at PPV’s.
He teases and jokes around with you a lot
Your laugh is like heaven to him, and he wants to hear it all the time.
Is very physically affectionate, always has a hand around your shoulder or is holding your waist or is putting his hand in your back pocket
Loves having mix matched tag matches with you and acting like a gentleman, holding the ropes out for you, kissing you before the bell rings and holding you in his arms when you both win.
If you ever get injured, he will be at your beck and call, taking time off to take care of you.
You would feel guilty of him putting his career on hold for you, but he would absolutely do that for you in a heartbeat if it meant nursing you back to 100%.
He absolutely wants to marry you one day, but for now he wants to take it slow with you & be young and in love with you.

Jealous, much?
Trick Williams x Reader

A/N: This some smutty ass shit y'all. MDNI! Y'all are responside for your own reading exposure.
Warnings: sexy ass Trick Williams, minor coochie touching, unprotected p in v (no glove no love y'all! Come on!), choking, good communication, and dirty talking
-------------------------------------------
You scoffed looking at Lash and Trick in the ring together after his match. He was just reprimanding you about your onscreen relationship with Melo. You’re gonna ask him about this when he gets back, too, cause there’s no way he’s tryna play this game.
—------------------------------------------
Trick came to the back on cloud nine! He and Lash had finished cutting that promo and everybody was feeling it! They truly had good chemistry, but not better than him and you. His girl, you, Trick loved so much. One day, it’ll be you and him cutting promos and working onscreen together, creating real magic, just like how y’all do outside of the ring.
After getting congratulations from the staff, Trick went to find you. You were the person he wanted to see the most after every show, win or lose. But, you found him before he found you.
You had this look on your face that meant nothing but trouble, he could tell you were annoyed about something.
“Heyy~, baby.” Trick wrapped his arms around you, but when you pushed him away, he knew something was seriously wrong, “Yo, which one of these girls done pissed you off? Cause Trick Willy gone handle that on behalf of you baby.”
Crossing your arms over your chest, you said, “Can we talk somewhere privately? Too many listening ears around.”
Trick furrowed his brows concerned, “Yeah, yeah. Let’s go back to my locker room.”
On the way there, you thought of how you could phrase what you wanted to say, so you didn’t come off angry. Though, you were angry, coming off that way through tone would just upset Trick and the conversation would be done through screaming instead of understanding.
“Aight, baby, what’s wrong?” Trick asked when y’all finally got into the room.
“What happened to loyalty?”
“Bae, what you talking bout? Loyalty? What?” Trick tried to wrap his arms around you, but you pushed him away.
He was confused, you were fine all night. What changed your mood so quickly?
“You and Lash out there… together like that…” you trailed off.
“Oooh okay, this what you upset about. Bae, that’s just work, it’s nothing else going on.”
Crossing your arms over your chest once again, you huffed, “That’s exactly what I said about Carmelo and I, but you nearly lost your job tryna stop something that wasn’t anything to begin with. It’s my JOB to have chemistry with him.”
Trick scoffed, “I know Carmelo. That’s not professional what he’s doing. He’s making actual passes at you 'cause you my girl and you know it.”
You cocked your head a little, “I know it? Okay,” you took a deep breath to calm yourself, “Trick, all I wanted was for you to get a taste of your own medicine. To see how you are through someone else’s eyes. Sure, I’ve noticed that some of Melo’s actions are inappropriate and I will talk to him about that. But, you also need to see that Lash’s actions are more than just work-related too and I know you see that. So, you need to get on her before I do.”
Trick nodded his head, “Okay, maybe there were some-”
You cut him off, “Maybe? Trick, come on.”
Trick sighed, “Fine. There have been some things I picked up on. I just ignored it cause I knew I had someone better than Lash. I knew I had you waiting for me with open arms after every show. You my beginning and end, baby. You the woman I wanna walk down the aisle to see waiting for me. I love you.”
You smiled and sniffed a little, “Baby, don’t make me cry! I love you too.”
Trick wrapped his arms around, successfully this time, sighing with contentment at finally embracing you, “Don’t cry. We got some celebrating to do.”
Pulling away from the hug, “Oh we definitely do. Now, gimme that Trick Willy loving.”
Trick smirked, “Oh? In the locker room? Where everybody can hear you be loud?”
You smirked this time, “It’s not like we haven’t done it in here before, and,” you leaned in to whisper in his ear, “I won’t be the only loud one.”
Trick kept his smirk at your statement. He was excited to see this side of you.
Lifting the bottom of your dress to slip his hands under it, caressing your ass, “Showtime baby.”
He leaned in, brushing his lips with yours, teasing you just a bit, and then he kissed you with such passion and force, that you almost stumbled backward. Kissing you always gets Trick harder than ever. Even the slightest of pecks causes him to chub a bit sometimes.
He rubbed your ass more, switching between cupping it in his hands and jiggling it. Then, he moved one of his hands to the front of your underwear, rubbing you.
You were borderline soaking through your underwear. You shared the intimate sentiment with Trick with kissing.
“Wet already baby? Hm? You wet for me?” he rubbed your clit, putting a little pressure on it.
You were ready to collapse in his arms. You didn’t know how badly his admittance of wanting to marry you had affected you.
“Please…” you said, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Please, what? Huh, baby? Please, what?” Trick kissed your neck and pressed down a little harder, continuing to rub agonizingly slow.
“I wanna cum on your dick, baby,” you said, lifting your head.
“Is that right? On my dick?” he pulled his hand from your heat, “Whatever you want baby?”
You looked into Trick’s eyes while tugging down his shorts, “Whatever I want?”
“Already know it.”
“Good.” you stopped pulling at his shorts, “Take it out.”
The difference in your voice had Trick taken aback. Who did he just awaken?
He listened and whipped it out, stroking it a bit,
“Now, sit down.”
“Shit….” he mumbled.
When he didn’t move fast enough for your liking, you pushed his shoulders a little, “Sit down, baby.”
Trick quickly went to sit down in a chair like you demanded.
You slid your underwear off and then climbed onto his lap. You grabbed his dick and rubbed it against your wetness, “I love you, Trick.” you said as you lifted yourself up and put the tip in.
Trick grabbed your hips, attempting to help you slide down all the way, but you weren’t having it.
“Move your hands, baby.” You were going to teach him a lesson. Coming at you sideways about another man while another woman was pushing up on him and he had the nerve to act clueless. You’ll slide down when you feel like it.
Grinding on his tip had Trick curling his toes, “Fuu…”
You stopped grinding, “What was that?”
“Fuck me.” Trick said in the most whiny voice. You’ve never heard him like this. That shit had you dripping more than you already were. You knew you couldn’t deny yourself pleasure any longer, so you slid down.
Trick finally felt like he could breathe. The teasing was finally over, “Shiit, please move.”
You smirked, now he was the one saying please. Moving your hips was a Godsend on Trick’s end. Your teasing on his tip and your controlling demeanor had him on the edge.
“Shit… tell me how you feel baby. Tell me how it feels being in a pussy this good.” You bounced on his dick, making a point to come down hard, slamming your ass down on his lap.
“Feels so good inside you, baby,” Trick wrapped his arms around your back, “Love being inside you, fuck.”
You bounced harder, a slapping noise mixed with yours and Trick’s moans can only be heard. You held your breasts as you rode him, “You wanna cum? I wanna cum. You gonna make me cum?” you asked him.
Trick nodded rapidly, “Yeah, baby. Want you to get yours.” his arms around you tightened, making you go faster.
“Ooh fuck, fuck, fuck. Keep going, baby. I’m so close.” you moved one of your hands to rub your clit in fast circles, “SHIT! I’m coming, I’m coming!”
“Mhm, mhm. Let go for me. That’s right.”
You twitched in his arms, a creamy ring forming around his dick. You flooding his lap.
Trick slowed your bouncing down and looked at your fucked out expression.
“You always look so fucking sexy after a good nut.”
Outta breath, you said, “Time to get yours.” then pushed his back flush to the chair y’all were sitting in together and rested your hands on his shoulders, “Take it.”
Trick planted his feet and started bouncing you again, thrusting up in time to meet your ass against his thighs, “Oh shit, baby.”
“Yeah? You getting close baby?” you slide your right hand up to his neck, applying a little pressure.
Trick felt a new pleasure, he had never been choked before, and the sensation was going straight to his dick. Trick had to slow down to prevent himself from coming too quickly.
“What you doing to me, baby? Fuck, you feel so good!”
You tightened your grip on his neck, “Come on, Trick. Get yours, baby.”
Trick unwrapped his arms and grabbed your ass, spreading your ass cheeks, and truly started fucking up into you. Lifting you, slamming you down, and thrusting up to meet that shit in the middle.
“Shit, I’m almost there.” Trick’s eyes rolled back and stayed there, pleasure almost becoming too much. “Baby, baby, baby, fuuckkkk I’m finna bust.”
“Me too, baby, me too.” Seeing Trick in this state did more to and for you than you thought it ever could. Seeing him losing his mind like you normally would has you close.
He moved you even faster on his dick, his moans getting lost in his throat, “Yeah, baby... wanna nut in that pussy.”
“Yeah? You wanna nut in me, baby? Ask for permission!” you knew you were done for if he did this. One hand is still on his neck and the other arm is thrown completely around his neck. You were holding on for dear life.
“Please! Lemme bust in you! Fuuu… please I can’t hold it!” his toes were curled impossibly tight.
“Cum with me Trick! Ohmy-fuck baby Yes!!” you came with a scream, wetting up his thighs and his lower stomach.
Rapidly nodding his head, he came with a long groan. Slowing down, but continuing to bounce you to ride out the high for as long as he could.
“Oh shit,” Trick rested for forehead against yours, “Felt so good, baby.”
You kissed him as a response. Needing to feel his lips on yours to ground you a bit more from the earth-shattering orgasm you just had.
And when Trick started to suck your tongue into his mouth, you took that as a sign to go another round, so you ground your hips.
Trick grabbed your hips tight and stopped you, “Nah, I need a minute. You really wore me out.”
You giggled, “I guess I did, huh?”
He chuckled, “Maybe I should get you jealous more often, huh? Especially if you get like this.”
You smacked his chest, “Boy, hush up. Ain’t nobody jealous… but we both gone get our acts together about this, though.”
Trick nodded, “For sure.”
Getting close to his lips, brushing yours over his just like he did you, “You tell that girl what’s up and I’ll do you like this and more.”
He groaned at the thought, “I’ll make sure she knows her place.”
You pecked his lips, “Good. Now let’s get cleaned up so we can go home and go a couple more rounds.”
“Yes ma’am.”

CONGRATS | TRICK ୨ৎ

“Hmp.” Jamira tapped her footed as she stared at the television screen. She just witnessed her on and off boo, sneaky link, or whatever she called at the moment win his second NXT championship.
Even though she was proud of him she wouldn’t tell him because the two of them currently weren’t on good terms. They got into a big argument after she found out he was texting some girl and the two haven’t spoke since.
Trick tried reaching out to her the first couple of days but after that he said fuck it. It was now going week three and neither one of them caved in. Little did they know they were both missing each other more than anything.
“You going to celebrate with your boo?” Bianca said as the two of them sat next to each other. Narrowing her eyes Jamira looked over at her best friend and pursed her lips.
“Y’all still not talking?”
“Nope, I don’t have shit to say.” She shook her head and picked at the sequence on her gear.
“But I thought- nevermind.” Bianca mumbled making Jamira snapped her head in her direction.
“You thought what?”
“Nothing girl, Im not trying to be into it with man. I should’ve never said anything.”
“Bitch, don’t do that cause I would tell you something about Tez if Trick told me. I’m not gonna say nothing to him just tell me.” Jamira said, eager to know what was said.
“You better not! Tez was telling me that Trick told him that he didn’t text the girl. She’s his ex and was texting him. The two of them used to talk but once he started feeling you he cut ties with her.”
Feeling me? What is she talking about? Trick and I were purely sex. At lease that’s what she thought.
“His ex?” Jamira raised her eyebrows.
“Yeah, that’s what Trick told him. He was also saying how he felt about you but Tez wouldn’t tell me because he knew I was gonna tell you.” She rolled her eyes.
“That’s interesting cause I never heard of a ex but it’s whatever. I’m not tripping about it.” Jamira shrugged her shoulders and acted as if she didn’t care but in reality her mind was racing.
“Girl! Go make up with your man! I’m about to go find mine but let me know how it goes. Then again I may be able to tell by your walk tomorrow.” She smacked Jamira’s thigh before running off down the hall.
“She’s something else.”
-
Later that day
“You not going out to celebrate?” Melo asked as the two of them walked down the hallway.
“Nah, I’m finna head back to the hotel and call it a night. I’m not feeling celberating tonight.” Trick shook his head. Everyone was congratulating him on the win except the one person he wanted to talk to.
“I feel that we had a long night and shit.” He spoke but Trick zoned him out when Jamira walked past him like she didn’t know him. As much as he wanted to grab her he knew better than to cause a scene at work.
“You still ain’t fix it yet?” Melo sucked his teeth and looked over his shoulder at Jamira.
“Nah, I’m about to. I had other shit on my mind.” He mumbled once they reached the lockeroom.
“Well you better focus on her before you lose her. That’s why I told you that situationship bullshit ain’t worth it.” Melo told him and he nodded his head. He knew everything he was saying made sense but it was just a matter of actually doing something about it.
“I hear you, I’m about to fix shit now”.
After leaving the arena and driving to the next city Trick wasted no time making his way to Jamira’s hotel room. Surprisingly all he had to do was tell them he was her boyfriend and that was enough for them to tell him what room she was in.
“What are you doing here?” She mumbled as she pulled her robe closed and stuck her head out the door of the hotel room.
“We need to talk.”
“It’s three in the morning. You couldn’t do this tomorrow?” She rubbed her eyes.
“Nah, I didn’t want to go another night not talking to you and figuring this shit out. Can I come in?”
“Um sure.” She stepped back from the door and allowed him to come inside.
“What are we doing?”
“No what are you doing? I found messages in your phone not the other way around.” She scrunched her face up at him.
“Those are from an ex. I don’t fool with her anymore.”
“You never mentioned an ex.”
“Why would I? I stopped dealing with her two years before I even met you.”
“It’s just weird I don’t know. Why isn’t her number blocked? When’s the last time y’all had contact?”
“We didn’t necessarily end on bad terms so there wasn’t a reason for me to block her. We broke up and stopped talking for a long ass time and then right before I met you she tried rekindling but I told her I was cool on that.”
“When she text it was random and out of the blue. I ain’t never lied to you about nothing and I don’t have to.” He shook his head.
“When’s the last time you had sex?” She asked him.
“On a balcony in Cali.” He said and she instantly got flashbacks of the night they shared. He turned her every way but loose that night and that’s the same night she saw the messages from his ex.
“Hmmm.” She nodded her head slowly as she stared off into space. Standing up from the chair he walked over to her and hoisted her into his arms, resting his hands on butt. Immediately her legs wrapped around his waist and her arms found their way around his neck.
“I missed your pretty ass Jimi.” He kissed her thick lips as he laid her on the bed and laid between her legs. The two of them shared slow nasty tongue kisses as her hands ran up and down his beautiful body.
“You gonna let me take care of you?” He mumbled as he stood up and pulling his shirt over his head. Nodded her head she allowed him to untie the silk pink robe she was wearing and reveal her naked body. Being that she slept naked it was the closest thing she could throw on and answer the door.
“Hmm, you always do.” She stared up at his 6’4 statue that was standing over her. Underneath him she felt so small compared to him and she loved it.
After stripping out his clothes her grabbed the back of her knees he bent her legs back enough to expose her vagina that was already leaking and aligned himself with her center.
“Mmmh, baby.” She moan as he slide inside of her wet walls, filling her up. Immediately she squeezed around him causing him to let out a groan.
“I know you missed me mama but you gotta loosen up so I can make you feel good. Can you do that for me?” He tapped her thigh and leaned down to place a soft kiss on her lips.
Nodding her head she adjusted to his size and allowed him to move in and out of her. Her moans immediately filled the room as he gripped her ass cheeks and bottomed her out.
“That feels good ma?” He asked as he pressed his hands against her legs pushing them back towards her head as he went deeper with each stroke, circling his hips to hit her spot.
“I love hitting it like this. I get to see your pretty ass face while I’m in it. That shit is so sexy.” He whispered in her ear.
All Jamira could do was moan and take every thing he was giving her. There was never any running with him so she learned to take it and let him talk her through it in the process.
“You didn’t even congratulate me.” He smacked her ass as he continued drilling her. The room was filled with her moans but he wanted to hear from her mouth how he was making her feel.
“Trickkk.” She whined into his neck as she felt herself getting closer to her climax. Her legs were shaking and tears were streaming down her face.
Three weeks was too long to go without her man.
“You not proud of me?” He gripped her chin and forced her to look into his brown eyes. He wanted her to feel the same way he felt when she ignored his messages and walked past him at work.
“I am baby. I’m so proud of you.” She mumbled as her eyes became heavy and her toes curled.
“I appreciate that baby. I appreciate you so much.” His strokes got slower and sloppier as she came all over him and let out the loudest moan.
It wasn’t long before he felt himself reach his peak and he ejaculated on her stomach.
“Damn baby. I missed that.” He breathed out before kissing her lips and letting go of her sore thighs.
“I missed it too baby.”

retwist 𐦍 trick williams
(mdni)
rat tail combs, mousse, beeswax, castor oil, an assortment of hair products cluttered the brown coffee table. as the tunes of sade played from the nearby alexa you let out a soft moan.
on this sunday afternoon a retwist was much needed. the man having little time for maintenance and certainly another female wouldn’t do the job.
with ease you separated the strands of new growth that sprouted from his roots. the cool and lightweight brown gel adding for slippage and less frizz as you twisted the loc clockwise, finally pinning the hair at its root with a silver clip.
on your pink colored tippy toes you parted more hair the metal end of the rattail comb straightening your mistake as trick began to get a bit handsy. maybe it was fate but one of your movements led to your nipples slipping out of the camisole.
the brown pebble instantly went into his mouth, the wet and warm intrusion prickling your sensitive skin. almost dropping the comb your breath caught in your throat looking into his brown orbs that read your facial expressions.
he licked with a purpose, tongue swirling, and sucking harshly. “keep going.” he was challenging you, regaining some composure you focused on the task at hand, but not before his hand found your swollen clit.
“trickkk!” you squealed, mouth agape at his boldness and quite ashamed of how wet you became in seconds. “can’t focus, pretty girl?” you shook your head no, defeat washing over you as your stomach churned.
“that’s a shame.” and just like that you were bouncing on his dick. your gushy walls tightening around him like life depended on it. with every drag of his dick hitting your spot you felt fuzzy.
his pelvic slapped against your ass, his strokes more urgent, more passionate, more brutal than ever before. his hands grip the flesh of your ass spreading you open in both ways. moans and whimpers fell from your pretty mouth, the music only adding to the noise.
you reached for his hair careful to not unravel the previous locs, still trying to do the task yet failing miserably. “you’ll never win baby.” he’s adamant as your pussy squeezed like a vice grip, feel your stomach tighten and on the brink of no return.
cream and juices coat his dick, splashing the seat underneath you both. your orgasm hitting you as trick cums inside your swollen pussy the feeling making your heart swell and pussy overfill.
with a sigh you melt into his touch, eyes feeling heavy as you barely remember why you started his hair in the first place. knowing you’ll never win.

Homecoming
One Shot
Carmelo Hayes x Black Female OC! (Kayla)
Rating: 18+
Warning: Smut
Summary: Carmelo is nervous about returning to his college alma mater FAMU for its homecoming. An alumni ball between his fellow brother Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and sister sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha is taking place.
Why is he nervous, you ask? A special someone he took for granted is going and he has no idea how to make things right. Follow Carmelo down memory lane as he tries to figure out how to fix the mess he made. Will Kayla forgive him or will this end in disaster as Trick travels with Carmelo to be his wingman for homecoming weekend.
This was a story request from royalkay23 who gave me the music and ideas that we put together. I hope you enjoy it!
NXT Show
Carmelo POV
“Damn, another night, another show,” I sighed sitting down trying to unwind a bit before I showered and got on the road. Pulling out my phone I checked my messages.
“Damn, I already told Darnell, I was comin’ so what the hell he keep calling for?” I hissed putting in my code to listen to his voicemail.
“Man, I forgot you had a show, I talked to Angela, and she convinced Kayla to come this weekend. You better get ready to do some groveling to get yo’ woman man. I’ll see you down there, later bro,” his voice making my stress levels rise.
What does he mean she’s coming down? Fuck, should I even go? Will she even wanna talk to my ass?
“How did shit get so complicated,” I whispered pinched my nose truly frustrated.
Things used to be so easy; then we made it complicated by giving in to our desires. If only we never crossed that line, we would still be close.
I missed her, I knew the first day I met her that I wanted her to be apart of my life forever.
--------
FAMU Move in day 2019
“Remember we’re gentleman, carry their bags to their rooms. Be welcoming and act like ya’ll got some sense. Give them a couple weeks to get used to campus life before ya’ll start aggravating them,” our oldest fraternity brother Scott said as we all snickered.
“We got you, boss,” I said trying not to laugh as Darnell hit my shoulder trying to hold it together himself.
“No funny business Carmelo, this ain’t an opportunity for you to schedule your next hookup,” Greg hissed as I nodded scoping the parking lot not listening.
“Damn, I got her,” I said pointing to a beautiful young lady standing with her parents about to start pulling luggage outta their trunk. Oh, she bad….Legs and ass for days.
“You ain’t slick, you tryin' to holla at her,” Darnell whispered as I grinned. “I don’t know what you talkin’ about. If ya’ll will excuse me, I’m going to see if they need some help,” I said quickly making myself scarce before anybody could get a word in.
Making my way over to the family I couldn’t help but hear her mom fussing over leaving her daughter here. Smiling, I listened quietly trying to give them a minute before I interrupted.
“Mama, I will be fine,” she said reassuring her mother as they had her surrounded in a group hug. “You go to your classes and back to your dorm, these folks are a little too wild,” her mom said looking at a couple making out not far from us as I snickered.
Sorry mama, that’s something I wouldn’t mind doin’ to your daughter…Damn, Melo play it cool…
“Mama, I can handle it, I’m not going to be out here actin’ a fool but I will have fun sometime,” the Carmel beauty said being honest with her parents as her dad smiled.
“As you should, all work and no play sucks, babe give her a break. We raised her right,” her dad said as her mom took a deep breath.
“Yes, ya’ll did, now trust me,” she pleaded with a beautiful smile. Damn, a smile that could start a full-blown war….
“I do trust you, baby, it’s just it’s your first time away from home, and I’m worried,” her mom said looking around at their surroundings.
“Have you talked to your little boyfriend who couldn’t bother to be here,” her dad said with disgust.
“Daddy, Justin is getting ready to go to college too. It’s ok, he’s going to come up soon,” she said her tone trying to keep the conversation light and positive.
Well, let me introduce myself, maybe that can change the subject, it seemed the mysterious beauty didn’t want to talk about it.
“Excuse me, do you guys need some help?” I asked said as she turned around and instantly blushed when we made eye contact.
Damn she fine, fine, ok act like a gentleman and don’t embarrass yourself.
“Hi! Um, I guess we do,” she said looking around at all her things on the ground and in the trunk.
“What’s your name son?” her dad asked, as I grinned.
“I’m Carmelo, and I’m from the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, sir. I’m apart of the fraternity welcoming committee. We help students move in on campus,” I said shaking her dad’s hand as he smiled at him.
“An Alpha man! I like that, I pledged to that fraternity when I was in college, my daughter here is a junior transfer and is pledging to your sister sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha,” he said proudly as my ears perked up at the new information.
“You don’t have to tell everybody, Daddy, I might not even make it. Hi, I’m Kayla,” she said shaking my hand as I felt myself falling into those beautiful brown eyes.
“It’s always nice to meet a fellow sister, welcome to the family,” I said gently kissing her hand. Her mother scoffed, clearing her throat and interrupting our moment as I reluctantly let go of her hand as her dad laughed.
“It’s nice to meet you as well ma’am,” I said taking her mother's hand in mine, kissing it as her smirk grew by the second.
“Oh, you charming, stay away from this one Kayla,” her mom said as I smiled nervously at her…Alright, don’t let her see you sweat.
“Uh, let’s get you moved in Kayla,” I said trying to change the subject, helping her dad pick up some of her bags. “I would love that,” she said smiling brightly at me.
For the next hour, I tried to learn all I could about her as we moved her into her dorm.
Her phone also had been ringing nonstop, but she ignored it. “He knows I’m movin’ so why blow me up like this. I’ll call him back in a minute,” she said as we carried up the last of her things.
“When you do….Tell him he should have brought his ass here to help us move you in if he wanted to know what you are doing every fuckin’ second of the day,” her mom said as Kayla rolled her eyes behind her back.
Poor thing was getting it from all ends, I could see she needed a break from her mother, and it seemed her boyfriend.
Her parents walking ahead of us into her dorm gave me a chance to be nosey.
“Is that you and your man?” I asked, pointing at the wallpaper on her phone. Looking at the photo seemed to have her conflicted, almost nervous.
“Uh, yeah he is, we’ve been together for two years,” Kayla said as I observed her uneasiness.
“Ok, well maybe when he comes to visit, ya’ll can come check out one of our parties. We throw the best ones on campus,” I said trying to make conversation not wanting it to end as I sat her bags down inside.
“That would be cool, thank you for helping us, maybe I’ll see you around,” Kayla said as I felt the excitement dancing in my chest.
“Yeah, you definitely will, might as well call me your new best friend,” I said turning on the charm as she laughed.
“Well, maybe I’ll see you around best friend,” Kayla joked as I walked out of her dorm with a pep definitely in my step.
Senior year was definitely shaping up.
------
“Aye, you planning to shower or what?” Trick asked bringing me out of my thoughts. “Yeah, I am, just was thinking about Kayla and if I want to go to the Alumni ball,” I said as Trick sat down in front of me and stared intently.
“Well, you deserve to have fun too, maybe ya’ll can talk and work this shit out. I mean it’s been four years, she can’t still be mad,” he said as I sighed.
“I said some fucked up shit that I can’t take back, I don’t even know how to approach her,” I said feeling helpless.
“You go up to her, apologize, and try to make it right. That’s all you can do,” Trick said as I stood up shuffling around the room gathering my things.
“Thanks, man maybe it’ll all work out and I’ll have fun this weekend,” I said as Trick smiled.
“Now that’s it, be positive and have fun this weekend. I’ll even go with you and be your wingman. I can tell you when to talk and when to shut the hell up, 'cause you talk too much sometimes,” Trick said as I laughed truly thankful for him and our friendship.
“Well, I might take you up on that, let me shower so we can hit the road,” I said heading to the showers.
“Aye, you gon’ get her back, you just gotta shoot your shot!” I heard Trick yell as I started my shower.
I truly hoped so but for now, I had to be realistic, I had a lot of groveling to do, and I was prepared to do it if it meant Kayla could be in my life again.

Delata Flight 193
Kayla’s POV
“Angela, I’m going to have fun and stroll with my sorors. I’m not going to resurrect issues from four years ago,” I said as she rolled her eyes at me.
“Ya’ll two need to talk and squash this shit, you know he didn’t mean it. He was jealous because he was in love with you…Still in love with you might I add,” she said as I scoffed.
“In love…..Carmelo…… Girl bye!” I exclaimed rolling my eyes. “Even if he was in love with me, it don’t make it right what he did. Have a conversation like an adult and not say spiteful shit. And can we just drop this conversation, you are ruining my buzz,” I said finishing my glass of champagne as Angela sighed grabbing her phone.
Damn, I guess she was going to be team Carmelo all weekend. Love my ass.
“So, he wrestles, that’s cool,” Angela said as I looked over and saw her scrolling through Carmelo’s Instagram as I smiled.
Many of our late-night talks about our dreams began to invade my mind. He was always passionate about wrestling so it didn’t shock me that he made it to the WWE.
Leaning back in my seat I sighed trying to get in the right head space for this weekend. I wanted to have a good time, it would even be better if I could avoid him.
“Girl, he got to work with the undertaker, look!” Angela exclaimed as I leaned back over and looked at his latest Instagram post on her phone.

“That’s awesome,” I whispered happy him. He looked so happy. As she scrolled to the next picture My focus went to the tattoo of an eye on his upper arm, it seemed to stir something in me, but I didn’t know what.
I felt like I knew the meaning of it but I couldn’t piece it together as I looked at the beautiful tattoo of a woman’s eye with makeup smudged. Angela quickly swiped to the next post before I could truly process it.
“So, are you going to talk to him this weekend? Angela asked as I sat back in my seat and closed my eyes trying to tune her out.
“No, I have no desire to talk to him, I’m over it,” I said as she laughed.
“Bullshit, you were in love with Carmelo, and you still are,” she countered as I snapped my head back looking at her wearing a frown.
“Don’t look at me like that, you gon’ put your big girl panties on this weekend, and get yo' man back,” Angela said with determination as I shook my head.
“He was never my man Angela; we just were two friends who had sex one night and it ruined our friendship. Worse mistake ever, I should have taken my ass home that night,” I said smartly as Angela sucked on her teeth.
“Nah, I don’t agree with that. Ya’ll were two friends who loved each other and were scared. He self-destructed jumping to conclusions and you were hurt by his assumptions,” Angela said as I got my air pods out of my purse.
“I’m done talkin’ about Carmelo, I’m takin’ a nap now,” I said putting my air pods in, turning my music on low.
“I know you can hear me so I’ma say this. I know he was wrong, but I think you are takin’ the one bad thing he did and erasing all the good. It wasn’t always bad Kayla and one mistake shouldn’t define him or his love for you, or your love for him,” Angela said as I continued to tune her out.
Yes, he did a lot of great things for me, I couldn’t deny it. Did the good truly outweigh the bad?

Crossing Day 2019
Kayla’s POV
This is supposed to be an amazing night for me, but I feel shitty. It’s nothing but chaos all around me as I see Carmelo and some of his fraternity brothers helping set up the stage for our ceremony that starts in an hour. I hate we got a late start.
My phone ringing for damn near the tenth time within the last thirty minutes is pissing me off as I see Justin’s number.
“What do you want Justin?” I asked, truly fed up, especially after the bomb he dropped this morning.
“I just wanted to make sure you were good,” he said as I pulled the phone away from my ear in disbelief.
“Justin, how am I good? You called me this morning to tell me you’re not coming. You knew how important this was to me,” I said trying to keep my emotions in check not wanting to mess up my makeup.
“It’s not that big a deal, it’s just a sorority thing,” he said as I felt the tears coming. “Really, so something I want to do isn’t important to you. Even though everything you do, I come and support you,” I said raising my voice as Carmelo made his way towards me.
“You ok Kayla?” he asked as shook my head, sighing as he put a comforting hand on my shoulder. “Who is that? Is that your so-called homeboy, I shoulda known his ass was there. I ain’t blind I know ya’ll like each other,” Justin hissed.
“Look, I got to get ready, I need to get my mind together,” I said trying to end the call.
“Well, that’s cold, you don’t even wanna talk about it. You must be spreadin’ your legs for his ass. Maybe we just need to call this shit off,” he said as I scoffed knowing where this was going.
Gaslighting 101, chapter five, Hide Your Guilt and Accuse Her of What You Are Actually Doing.
This bastard was cheating, and I knew exactly who it was with.
“You know I’m not cheating on you. Just grow a set and tell me you want to break up instead of playing games Justin. I know you sleeping with Regina, the jig is up, ok,” I said as the line got quiet.
“Look, it ain’t about her, I’m just sayin’ maybe we just need to end this. Experience new people and just have fun, I don’t want to be tied down right now Kayla,” he said as I took a deep breath and looked at Carmelo, who gave me a nod of encouragement.
"I'm here Kay," he whispered as I fought back tears. He was always there to pick up the pieces and wipe my tears.
“Justin, why did you have to do this today? It could have been any other day but today. Look, just lose my number because you’re officially blocked, it's over,” I said hanging up and blocking his number as Carmelo took me in his arms and I broke down.
“Hey, I got you,” he whispered as I cried. “I don’t think I can do this today,” I cried as his strong arms pulled me closer.
“Oh, yes you can and will because you have worked hard for this. Today is your day, don’t let him take that away from you,” Carmelo said as I nodded slightly pulling away a sad smile adorning my face as he carefully wiped my tears.
“No more tears, go get ready. I’m excited to hear your Crossing Introduction tonight. I know it’s gon' be fire, just like you, and make sure to shake that beautiful hair for me,” he said gently playing with my freshly silked-out hair.
“Ok, I’ll make sure to remember that,” I said reluctantly stepping back as Angela came running up.
“Girl, ya’ll can flirt later, we need to finish getting ready. See you in a few Melo,” she said pulling me away as I laughed.
“Never change Angela, and congrats!” he yelled as she waved back at him.
These two are a mess but it was time. It was time to step into my sorority destiny.

Everything seemed like such a blur as we waited in line with our heads down. I was getting more nervous as each new soror went before the crowd introducing themselves.
Focus Kayla you did well on the march, now it’s time to let them know who you are.
“Alright Kayla let’em know,” my new fellow Soror whispered as I smiled, tossing my head back and whipping my hair back and forth as the crowd screamed. Here goes nothing…
Stepping out of line and going to the front of the stage I felt nervous till I looked out and saw Carmelo about three rows back smiling at me.
“My…… Name….. is!” I shouted, loud and clear pausing between each word.
“What’s your name?!” the crowd asked as I smiled and began moving my body and hands in sync with my words.
“Kayla!”
“Yea!” (crowd)
“Belle!”
“Yea!”
The crowd participating as I said my name had my heart racing. Pausing, taking in the moment, I saw Carmelo wink at me.
Giving him a sexy smirk, I tossed my head back and began shaking my hair again just for him.
“Peaches!”
“Yea!”
Slowly lowering my head, I paused, building excitement as they waited to hear what my last name was.
“Taylor!”
“Yea!”
“And I am from the Peach State, the one and only Atlanta, GA! And this Georgia Peach has joined this great sorority and I’m this line’s number 17! I shouted with pride bending down into our stroll stance with a bright smile.
Finally releasing the breath I was holding, my eyes found Carmelo again as he licked his lips. His gaze grew more intense as Darnell whispered something to him.
Were they talking about me? I saw Carmelo dap him up sharing a mutual nod before he turned his attention back to me and winked.
"A'ight Peaches, I see you Ms. AKA!" he shouted as I smiled getting back in line.
Yes, it was over! I had done it!… I was an AKA….

Later that night
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity House
Carmelo’s Room
“You sure you good?” Carmelo asked as I sat my drink down and curled up next to him on the couch. “I’m fine, thanks for being there tonight,” I said glancing up at him as he seemed to be in deep thought.
“It’s no problem, it was no other place I’d rather be,” he whispered caressing my face as I felt myself melting under his gaze.
“What are we doing?” I whispered as his lips slowly descended towards mine. “What we've always wanted to do,” he whispered gently taking my lips in a kiss as I moaned in pleasure.
“We can’t, I don’t want to ruin our friendship,” I whimpered against his lips as his arms encircled my waist pulling me onto his lap.
Feeling his hardness underneath me had me shook. He was hard from just a simple kiss.
“Mmhm, you feel that Kay? That's what you do to me," Carmelo whispered as I shivered. "Melo we can't," I pleaded as he silenced me with another kiss.
"We both want this, stop fighting it, baby. It won’t change anything, we'll still be us,” Carmelo whispered, his sexy voice casting a powerful spell over me.
Looking into his beautiful brown eyes I saw nothing but the truth in his words. Kayla just let go and give in to what you want.
"Tonight...Just for tonight," I whispered as Carmelo's grip on me tightened. "I got you," he whispered slowly undressing me.
I felt shy, as he tossed my dress, anxiously over his shoulder before caressing my breasts. “You are so beautiful, just everything I imagined you’d be and more,” Carmelo whispered kissing my neck as I moaned in pleasure, his masterful hands making quick work of my bra.
His words eased my nervousness and awakened the boldness in me.
Playing with the waistband of his sweats, Carmelo bit back a moan in anticipation. “Go ahead baby, you can touch it. I want you too,” Carmelo moaned as I purred at his words.
Nervously stroking him, his moans urged me on as his mouth feasted upon my neck. “Mmm, yes,” I moaned continuing to stoke him as he slid my thong to the side.
“You got a condom?” I whispered into the air as he nodded, reaching over, fiddling around in the drawer of the small lamp table beside us, as I claimed his lips in a powerful kiss.
His moan of triumph as he retrieved the condom and ripped it open made me tremble against him.
“Let me,” I whispered against his lips, climbing off his lap, slowly sinking to my knees, holding his gaze I slowly placed the condom over the tip of his length.
Damn he was way bigger than Justin, it caused me to pause in my actions and stare.
“Don't be scared, I'ma make you feel real good baby. I promise, now gon’ put it on and come take a ride,” Carmelo groaned, picking up on my nervousness as continued to stroke him.
My pussy quivered at his words; it excited me. Using my mouth, I slide the condom down over his hardened length as he bit back a growl, entangling his fingers in my hair.
“Shit! It’s like that baby?” Carmelo moaned, looking at me in amazement. “Uh huh,” I moaned looking at him, while taking him deeper into my mouth
“Got dammmn Kay,” Carmelo hissed as his head fell back against the couch in pleasure. “You like that,” I whispered as he looked at me through hooded eyes. “Hell yea, I love it but if you don’t stop, this gon’ be over before it starts,” Carmelo panted as I smirked releasing him.
“Mmm, I wouldn't want that, ” I whispered climbing back on his lap nibbing on his neck as he growled grasping my hips, slowly inch by inch filling my wet center with his hardened length until he was to the hilt. Our moans of satisfaction filled the tiny room.
“Fuck, you feel better than I ever dreamed,” Carmelo groaned against my neck as I began to ride him. “Mm, you too,” I confessed wrapping my arms around his neck as he began meeting my thrusts in desperate need.
“Yea, ride… Mmhm ride dat shit……Just like that Kayla,” Carmelo moaned encouraging me as we chased our end. “Promise me nothing changes….Mmm,Melo!” I exclaimed as he began gently massaging my clit with his thumb as I used his shoulders to steady myself bouncing with a purpose.
“Mmhm, nothin’ gon’ change, I promise Kay. Now let’s get this nut together baby,” he whispered as he took me higher and higher. “Yes! Melo, Mmhm I’m ready!” I cried as I rotated my hips against him hearing a low growl escape his lips that began to grow in volume as we shared each other’s love.
That’s what it was, love and it was scaring the hell outta me and by the look on Carmelo’s face I could tell it was scaring him too.
“Kay…Kay..Fuck!” Carmelo moaned, finally finding words as we were reaching our end. “I know, God I know," I moaned shuttering against him as our lips met in desperation.
“I’m cummin!” I whined against his lips as he caressed his tongue with mine, deepening our kiss.
“I’m right there with you,” he moaned as we exploded together. Collapsing against his shoulder I struggled to catch my breath as he held me tight.
For awhile, nothing was said as I relaxed in Carmelo's arms. I felt overwhelmed, I knew I had messed up…I had fallen hard for him. I felt my tears coming as Carmelo caressed my back.
“Don’t cry Kay, we good. See you doin' all this cryin' lately, I'ma have to get a tattoo of a tear on this shoulder. Better yet, ima put your whole eye up there with the makeup smudges and all," Carmelo said kissing my shoulder.
“See why you gotta tease me,” I said caressing his arms as he sighed.
“Look at me Kay,” Carmelo said lifting my head off his shoulder wiping my tears.
I would never tease you. I’m just glad you trusted me and allowed me to be there to catch your tears,” Carmelo whispered caressing my face, placing a gentle kiss on my lips.
Yep….We fucked up….Big time.
---
“We're about to land Kayla,” I heard Angela say as I opened my eyes taking in my surroundings.
“I’m sorry I just meant to catch a small nap, not sleep the whole flight,” I said taking my air pods out and putting my seatbelt back. on.
“You good girl, it ain’t nothing like listening to music and letting it take you away,” she said smiling at me.
“Yeah, I guess so,” I said trying to shake the memories that were clouding my mind, and the other pieces of the puzzle coming together had me feeling overwhelmed.
Pulling my phone back out I went to WWE.com, turning slightly in my seat so Angela couldn't see. I would never hear the end of this if she knew I was looking at Carmelo's photos but I needed to see the picture again.
In my search, I found an article with the picture in question attached with several other backstage shots. I began skimming through the article and a question threw me for a loop.

WWE.com Exclusive
"So, what is the significance behind this tattoo of the eye with what seems to be makeup smudged?"
"I got it about three years ago, I got it to remind me of a special someone I knew in college. She was my best friend and my number one supporter. She encouraged me to chase my dreams, and I never forgot that."
"Well, are you two still in touch?"
"Uh, no we aren't, but who knows what the future holds."
---
“I can't believe he really got that tattoo,” I muttered to myself in disbelief. “Who got what tattoo?” Angela asked leaning over, trying to look at my phone as I quickly opened another tab.
“Uh, nobody I know, I was just thinking about the dream I just had,” I said which technically I wasn't stretching the truth very much. My memories with Carmelo were creeping into my brain and it scared me.
“I hope it was a good dream to start your weekend because we gon’ have fun these next few days,” she said as I sighed.
Girl, if you only knew I would rather be anywhere than Florida this weekend. This was dangerous, I had to keep my guard up.
Maybe I should have just stayed home.

The Next Day
PHIRSTPHAM Cookout
Carmelo’s POV
“Damn, it’s thick out here,” Trick said as I grabbed us a beer. “Yea, they partyin’ hard, half of them probably ain’t making it to the ball,” I laughed looking around trying to find Kayla.
“Aye, didn’t her homegirl tell you they’d be here? I’ma need you to chill man,” Trick said as I tried to shake my nerves still looking around.
“I know I’m jus…just,” I said stuttered as I spotted her. “What the hell is wrong with you?” Trick asked turning around to see what had me shook.
“Damn, is that her?” he asked smiling as I nodded still unable to speak. “You stupid as fuck if I may say so myself,” Trick whispered shaking his head as I growled.
“Look you ain’t gotta rub it in, you supposed to be helping me, and stop looking at her like that,” I hissed as Trick shrugged his shoulders.
“I am here to help you but I ain’t dead. Is that her friend?” Trick asked pointing at Angela. “Yea, that’s her, a straight pain in the ass but I adore her,” I said as Darnell came running up.
“Ooou! I know you see yo’ girl, she out here serving body for days!” Darnell exclaimed as Trick smirked.
“Man shut the fuck up,” I said seething as he laughed. “Now is that how you talk to your frat brother who just talked to the DJ and he’s about to play our favorite stroll with the AKAs,” he said as my eyes widened in shock.
“I know you didn’t,” I whispered as he smiled. “Yep, so get ready,” he said taking off towards the crowd.
"This idiot here is just fuckin’ stupid,” I said as Trick seemed confused. “What’s the issue, I mean a dance can’t hurt nobody,” he said as I sighed.
“In the stroll, I lead the Alphas and Kayla leads the AKAs,” I said as Trick's eyes lit up. “Oh, shit that’s perfect, maybe it will break the ice with Kayla,” he said as I drank the rest of my beer.
“If anything it may entice her to choke my ass out for being so close to her, but I guess I ain’t gotta choice,” I said as I heard the opening cords of Knuck if you buck by Crime Mob
“Class of 2020 and 2021 I need you on the floor it’s your time to shine,” the MC said as I saw the girls already dancing falling in line behind Kayla as she smiled brightly swinging her hips and arms.
“Aye, you betta get yo’ ass over there,” Trick said as Darnell was waving me over as I went to join my frat brothers.
“Taking my place in line across from Kayla felt weird as she seemed to not pay me any attention as she strolled with her line sisters.
“Let’s get it fellas!” I shouted blowing my whistle as we began steppin’ in sync with the girls doing our own stroll.
I saw Kayla look over at me in shock for a second before she recovered and continued leading her line sisters.
“Knuck if you buck!” Angela screamed as the AKAs kneeled deeper in their stance, killin’ it.
“I see ya’ll!” I heard someone yell as I cracked a smile. It felt good to stroll with my frat brothers and most of all Kay.
I couldn’t take my eyes off of her as she danced, whipping her hair back and forth almost teasing me. She knows what that shit does to me. Trying to refocus I cut my eyes towards Angela as she smirked at me.
“Yeah, act like you know! Stop playin’ wit her, take us on out Peaches!" she yelled, swinging her arms as Kayla smiled, walking as only she could pretending one of her hands was a mirror as she fluffed her beautiful hair with the other.
The crowd parted, cheering them on while allowing them to pass as we followed closely behind them.
Damn, Kayla still could command a room like no other. “Uh, you can thank me now,” Darnell said as I looked back at him and rolled my eyes getting out of the line, trying to find Kayla again.
Kayla’s POV “We still got it, that was fun,” Angela said as I laughed. “Girl, AKAs gon’ always bring that heat,” I said smiling at her. “I know you saw him, so when ya’ll gon’ talk,” Angela said as I sighed.
Jeez can I have a moments piece without somebody telling me to talk to Carmelo.
“I didn’t see Carmelo, what are you talking about?” I said playing dumb.
“Oh, so you don’t know me now,” Carmelo said as I sighed looking at the amusement dancing in Angela’s eyes as I slowly turned to face him.
"I’ll let ya’ll two talk," Angela said practically running away as I scoffed. “I hate you!” I hissed as she laughed.
“Look can go talk, I think we both can agree it’s overdue and we don’t want to make a scene here,” Carmelo said as I looked around at everyone having a good time.
“Fine, but I’m not going far,” I said following him through the crowd as he led me to the side of the building.
The silence was defining as we both were trying to think of words to say to each other. It had been three years since we last saw each other after all.
I don’t know what came over me but I slapped him as hard as I could the sound echoing around us as Carmello stumbled rubbing the side of his face.
“A’ight I deserved that,” he said as I took a deep breath trying to not make a fool outta myself. I couldn’t let him know how he truly broke me.
“Yes, you did and more. You’re lucky that’s all you got from me,” I said as Carmelo raised his hands in surrender. “Kay, I know I hurt you and I’m sorry,” he said as I looked at him my expression unreadable.
“It's Kayla to you, only my friends call me Kay. Look, can you make this quick, I got something to do,” I said folding my arms over my chest.
“So is this how it’s gon’ be the whole weekend, you just ignoring me. I’m trying to apologize, Kayla,” Carmelo said as I tried to wrangle in my feelings.
“Why are you apologizing to a whore. I mean that’s what you said I was right?” I said as a look of defeat and horror crossed his face.
“I didn’t mean it if you would just let me talk,” he started as I cut him off.
“I’m just a needy whore that will ride any dick right,” I said slightly raising my voice as he cringed at my words.
“Look, I was drunk, and I said some shit I didn’t mean alright. You know I lo—,” Carmelo's voice trailed off as he looked down unable to look at me. What was he going to say?
“Carmelo, being drunk ain’t no excuse, I thought you were my best friend!” I exclaimed frustrated that I was letting him get to me.
I am your best friend! Regardless of how you feel about me, you are my best friend Kayla and I miss you. Can you please just forgive me? he pleaded as I tried to walk away. "Carmelo, please stop," I begged trying to walk away as he blocked my path. "Say you can forgive me, please," Carmelo pleaded, his eyes drawing me in as they stared into my soul. I couldn't look away if I wanted.
“Kay, you know I didn’t mean it, can we just agree to talk sometime before we both leave Sunday,” he pleaded as I finally nodded, not trusting my words as I saw Angela walking over.
“Hey, ya’ll good, Kay?" she asked rubbing my shoulder as I held back tears.
“Uh, yeah we were just talking about not letting the drama of the past ruin the weekend," I said wiping a few stray tears that had fallen as Carmelo sighed in relief.
“Well thank God, we all deserve a good weekend of fun,” she said my eyes still focused on Carmelo as he glanced quickly at the tattoo on his shoulder before looking back at me.
I felt a shiver run down my spine, as I tried to shake it off.
“Well, uh, I’ll let ya’ll get back to the party and I will see ya’ll tonight hopefully,” he said giving me a hug, catching me off guard.
Carmelo’s POV
I knew I was pushing it but I couldn't help it. I had to hold her in my arms. Come on beautiful hug me back.
I couldn’t let her go until she hugged me back.
I felt her trembling hands touch my back as I sighed in relief pulling her closer. “I’ma make it right, just let me please. I’m sorry Kay,” I whispered in her ear as I felt her relax against me. Angela smiled at me before leaving us alone.
"You hurt me, Mel," Kayla whispered as I felt my heart sink. “I wish I could take it back, baby,” I whispered honestly.
I didn’t know what else to say, I had played the scenario over and over in my head a thousand times. How different everything could have been if I had just told her how I felt that night. If I did, we wouldn’t be in this shit now.
“I need to go," Kayla whispered pulling away as I felt empty again.
"Yeah, me too, I hope I see you tonight," I said as she flashed a half smile.
"Maybe, I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there," she said not looking me in the eye slowly walking back back to the party.
Don't give up on me yet beautiful I whispered watching her walk away from me and carrying my heart right along with her.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity House
End-of-Year Party
Carmelo’s POV
It was the last party of the year, graduation was near but Kayla was occupying my mind.
We kept our word, after our night nothing changed. We woke up that next morning and went back into our regular routine. Two best friends who adored each other.
I had gone out with a few girls since then and Kayla was into her sorority life and wasn’t dating.
She had told me how she wanted to heal from the breakup with Justin before she dated anybody. I can’t help but admit I wanted more, and no girl could compare to her but I didn’t even know how to tell her.
"Let me get this straight 'cause you are confusing the fuck outta me. You like Kayla, but instead of telling her you bring Robin to this party. The girl who has made her life hell since she joined the AKAs. You stupid as fuck,” Darnell scoffed hitting me on the back of the head.
"Shit, you didn’t have to hit me, I know I’m wrong,” I said rubbing my head as I saw Kayla on the dancing floor dancing with Angela as I saw Anthony approach them.
"What the fuck is he doin'?" I hissed seeing my frat brother whisper in Kayla’s ear as she blushed, nodding as he pulled her away from Angela and they began dancing.
“Looks like he knows a beautiful woman when he sees one and he asked her to dance,” Darnell said as I growled.
“Fuckin’ freshman thinking he can come in here and do what he wants. Let me set his ass straight,” I hissed finishing my beer.
“Um, why can’t he ask her to dance? She’s single and so is he," Darnell said as I stormed past him not wanting to talk to his ass anymore.
Soon as I got closer Robin slid in front of me catching me off guard. "Hey, I have been looking for you, let’s dance," she said throwing her arms around me as I reluctantly danced with her.
I didn't know how to feel as Kayla looked at me in shock and uncertainty as Robin and I danced. I knew by her eyes she was hurt by my dating choice of the night.
Sighing I tried to play it cool as our eyes seemed to fall deeper into each other before she laid her head on Anthony’s shoulder avoiding my gaze as he seemed to be enjoying it a little too much for my liking.
"Motherfucka," I whispered as Robin pulled back looking at me. "What’s wrong babe?" She asked as I played it off. " Uh, nothin’ let’s go upstairs after this song. I know better things we could be doin', " I said as her eyes lit up.
Yea, I was wrong but I didn’t care at the moment.
"Hands up here now," I heard Kayla say as she moved Anthony's hands back to her waist. He had been trying to caress her ass.
"I'm sorry beautiful," he said as I saw red, I don’t even know what came over me as I stepped away from Robin and went towards them.
"What are you doing!? I know you ain't going over there, she don't need you to save her!" Robin hissed following me. Hell I don’t even know what I’m doing, but I know he ain’t gon’ be touchin’ on her like that.
"Aye, you need to keep your hands to yourself," I said interrupting their dance gently grabbing her arm and moving her behind me as I stepped in Anthony’s face.
"What is your problem, Melo?! We were just dancing," Kayla said as Anthony smirked.
"Ain’t it obvious, he can’t take somebody else takin’ an interest in you Kay, he just wants you to be his little plaything," Anthony said as I grabbed him by the collar snatching his ass up.
"My problem is every time I turn around yo’ bitch ass tryin’ to take something that belongs to me,” I hissed dangerously low as he laughed. "Oh, so she's yours huh," Anthony taunted as the music stopped and people began to stare.
"Let me talk to you for a minute," Kayla whispered grabbing my hand, as I let go of Anthony. I was getting more pissed by the second looking at his cocky ass.
"I know you new freshman, so you don't know me. Keep smirking, I'll knock all your fuckin' teeth out," I hissed, his smirk dropping instantly.
"No your not, let's go," Kayla said steering me towards the stairs as the music started back up.
"Don’t you go up there with her Carmelo! If you do I’m going home!" Robin yelled following us upstairs as Kayla rolled her eyes.
"Just go home, I'll call you later Robin," I said trying to not cause a scene seeing a few people were still looking at us.
"I’m serious, you go in there don't ever call me again," she said as Kayla opened my door pushing me inside before turning to face her.
"Good! It'll save him a trip to the free clinic! Anybody fucking you ends up with something bleach can't wash off and a ten day perscription of penicillin, Bye, irrelevant!" Kayla yelled slamming the door in Robins's face as I heard her scream on the other side of the door before walking away.
"Aye, you didn’t have to be so rude," I said as Kayla laughed sarcastically.
" Really, you wanna talk about rude. All I was doing was dancing with him and you come over acting like an asshole," she said as I invaded her space pushing her up against my door towering over her.
"I’m sorry ok, I just saw him touchin’ you and I wasn’t thinking," I said honestly caressing her face as she nervously bit her lip before my lips gently grazed hers.
"We need to talk Mel," she whispered as I groaned reluctantly stepping away from her. She was right we needed to talk badly but I didn't want to do it now.
"Ok, what are we talking about?" I asked frustrated the moment was ruined as she looked at me in disbelief.
"Are you serious? Well, let’s talk about why all of a sudden you actin’ like you my man," Kaylas said as I sighed feeling the anger in me boiling. She couldn’t see that I liked her.
"We’re friends Carmelo, remember that night wasn’t supposed to change us," she rambled running her hands through her hair, pacing.
"I know what we agreed on, I ain’t dumb!" I yelled as a knock on the door interrupted us.
"I heard yelling….Are you ok in there, Kayla?" Angela asked as she tried to calm her breathing before she responded.
The last thing I needed was Angela bustin’ up in here making matters worse.
"Yeah, I’m good I’ll be down in a minute so we can go," Kayla said as Angela tried to open the door.
"She’s fine Angela, damn!" I hissed as Kayla sighed. "Don’t get no attitude with me 'cause you fucking stupid. Jealous ass, I’ll be downstairs Kayla,” Angela said as quietness filled the room.
"What are we doin'? This isn’t us, why are we arguing with each other Carmelo. What’s really wrong?” Kayla asked.
Ok, tell her how you feel…This may be your last chance.
" I’m cool, we’re cool. I’m just trying to say before you put yourself back out there, just know women can’t do what men do," I said as Kayla frowned at me.
"What are you tryin' to say?" she asked as I tried to choose my words wisely. "I don’t want a bad reputation following you, I mean all it takes is you opening your legs to one of these idiots and then you are labeled as a whore," I said as I saw the flash of anger cross her beautiful face.
Fuck, I opened the gates of hell.
"Are you saying I’m a whore!?" Kayla exclaimed as I growled. "No! I ain’t sayin’ you’re a whore! I’m sayin’ don’t be out here in these streets grinding up on these clowns like a needy whore that will ride anybody’s dick," I said as Kayla reached up and slapped the fuck outta me.
How dare you? I wasn't grinding on no motherfuckin' body, we were just dancing. Meanwhile, you fuck anything with a gash and me simply just dancing with someone leads to a conversation as to how you don’t want me to be a whore..You're unbelievable," Kayla said throwing her hands up in frustration as I rubbed my face.
"Look, I ain’t gon’ argue with you. I said what I said and if you don’t like it, you can leave. I’m sure Anthony is ready to make you his new little plaything anyway. I’m sure he’ll love that lil trick you do with your mouth,” I said not believing the words coming out of my mouth.
I was supposed to be telling her I loved her, but here I was spewing venom towards her because another man was interested in her.
"I tell you what, I’d rather be his plaything than your so-called best friend? Hell, maybe he can actually satisfy me better than you did, so fuck you! she yelled storming out of my room, slamming the door behind her.
"DAMN ITTTT!!" I yelled sinking into the couch as I realized the finality of my words.
I had lost my best friend and the woman I loved.
-----
"Aye, earth to Melo! I heard Darnell yell as I cringed. "Stop yelling, I heard you," I said trying to get myself together. " I saw ya'll talking is everything good now? he asked as I smiled.
" We're gonna get together before the weekend is over," I said honestly feeling a little about the weekend. "That’s good to hear, hopefully, ya’ll move past this,” he said as we went back to join the party.
I hoped so, I knew one thing was for certain tonight was the time to shoot my shot and I planned on making my intentions loud and clear.
I wanted Kayla and nothing was going to stop me from telling her this time, not even myself.

PHIRSTPHAM ALUMNI BALL
Kayla's POV
“Angela thank you so much for helping me find a dress,” I said looking myself over in the mirror as she touched up her makeup.
The Emerald gold hue colored dress looked good on me. The dress being off the shoulder with the built in bra enhanced the beauty of it. Also, who could go wrong with showin' a little leg. Yea, I’m wearing the hell outta this dress right now if I may say so.
“Yea, I was gonna comment on your Instagram post, but you disabled your comments bitch,” she said as I shrugged my shoulders.
“Yes, I did because when Carmelo liked it I kind of panicked. I knew he was going to comment next, then his fans would see it and I ain’t with all that attention,” I said as Angela nodded in agreement.
“Ah, I get it, I actually don’t blame you on that one,” she said as we made our way back into the dining hall. The night had been going well but I was getting ready to soon leave.
Two hours was enough for me and I hadn’t seen Carmelo yet so my nerves were a little on edge. I can’t believe how just a hug from him was breaking down the walls I had built up. But for now, I’m going to enjoy the rest of my weekend.
“Heeeyyy, the party jumpin’ now,” I said looking at the crowded dance floor. “Gril, here come Anthony, don’t look,” Angela said as I sighed truly not in the mood.
“Damn,I was hoping he wouldn’t see me,” I whispered. I knew he was going to ask me to dance. Now don’t get me wrong, “I’ll give all my love to you” by Keith Sweat is one of my favorite songs but I ain’t dancing with his ass.
After the blow up with Carmelo I pretty much stayed away from his frat house all together. That didn’t stop Anthony from spreading rumors that he and I had slept together. So, yea I had to rock his shit one good time too.
“You ladies look amazing,” he said sizing us up as Angela cleared her throat. “Thanks, Anthony” I said as he smiled brightly at me.
“Kayla, may I have this dance?” he asked as I felt someone grab my hand gently bringing it to their lips. I actually sighed in relief seeing it was Carmelo as he smiled at me.
“She’s with me Anthony, ain't nothin' changed Bruh. Let's go Kay, I owe you a dance,” Carmelo said smoothly steering me away as Angela smiled.
“Well ok then Melo, come through boo,” Angela said as I blushed. She always hyping him up in his bullshit.
“Thank you, I was about to have a flashback and was probably gon’ rock his ass again like I did you earlier,” I said as he laughed pulling me close on the dance floor as we danced.
Carmelo’s POV
Step one complete I had her in my arms again our foreheads touching as I caressed her waist swaying to the music. She felt so good, this was a dream it had to be.
I love you in the night
I wanna take it real real slow, my baby
I understand what you told me
And if I, I didn't know
I always wanted someone just like you
“Thank you for dancing with me,” I whispered as she pulled back slightly, those beautiful eyes stirring something deep in my soul.
“Thanks for saving the day like you always use to do,” she smiled as I felt all my troubles melt away. She just didn’t know but I would always protect her.
I really need to hold on, hold you
I'd give the world to you, oh my darlin'
You know I will
Yeah yeah you know i will
I surely will
“You are so beautiful; you know that right?” I asked, caressing her face as she looked away.
“Carmelo,” she started as I cut her off gently grasping her face making her look at me. The more I stared into her beautiful eyes, it seemed the more I got lost.
“Just be in the moment with me,” I pleaded, gently kissed her forehead, as she relaxed in my arms.
I will never do anything to hurt you
I'll give all my love to you
(I'm gonna give you every bit of my love, my love)
And if you need me, baby, I'll come runnin' (yes I will)
Only to you (yes my baby yes I will)
I looked over and saw Trick dancing with Angela as he smiled at me giving me a thumbs up. Smiling, I closed my eyes just enjoying Kayla being in my arms again as she laid her head on my chest.
One of her hands resting on my back as the other caressed my arm and not just any arm but the one that contained the tattoo I had joked about getting four years earlier.
“You remember, don’t you? You know it’s your tattoo,” I whispered in her ear, unafraid of the answer as she nodded against me.
I no longer had anything to hide from her.
Girl I've been longing for you baby for a long long time
Let's make love tonight
I can make me feel real good baby
I can make feel real good baby
Sometimes, sometimes I get a little lonely, baby (so lonely baby)
“Why,” she whispered as I leaned down and gently placed a kiss on her bare shoulder. “Why wouldn’t I? I wanted to carry you with me always, you’re my best friend and I love you,” I whispered as I felt her still in my arms.
And I need a little love that I can call all mine (I need some lovin')
Girl, you are the one for me, babe
I know that you are the world for me, babe
“I can’t do this, I’m sorry,” Kayla whispered pulling away, walking off the dance floor.
Defeated, my eyes met Trick’s who pointed, silently telling me to go after her.
He was right, I couldn’t let the chance pass me by again. I rushed off the dance floor determined to catch her before she left.
Kayla’s POV
“Don't fall for it... He didn’t mean it Kayla, stop being weak,” I muttered to myself pacing. I felt in flight or fight mode as I saw Carmelo rushing towards me. “Look, I forgave you ok, so you don’t have to do this,” I cried trying to put some space between us as I tried to leave again.
“Kayla we can’t keep running from this baby,” Carmelo said blocking my path as I felt my anxiety rising.
This couldn’t be happening right now, he didn’t love me, he couldn’t.
“Why are you doin’ this!?” I cried as he caressed my face. “I’m doin’ It because I should have told you that night. I should have told you that I loved you,” Carmelo confessed as I felt the room closing in.
“No, no, you couldn’t have,” I whispered as I felt the air rushing out of my lungs.
“I’m sorry to just spring all this on you but, I don’t wanna make the same mistake twice. I can’t let you walk away from me again without telling you. I still love you Kayla and I know you love me too,” Carmelo declared without fear, claiming my lips in an eager kiss.
I will never do anything to hurt you
(I would never, never do one little thing to hurt you)
I'll give all my love to you
My mind was fuzzy as our kisses became more passionate, was this really happening right now.
“I’ma leave, and give you some time,” Carmelo whispered against my lips as I whimpered at the loss.
“I want you to come to me when you’re ready to admit you love me just as much as I love you, he said gently brushing his lips against mine before rushing off towards the elevators.
And if you need me, baby, I'll come runnin'
Only to you
Running towards the bathroom I locked myself in a stall trying to process what had happened. All this time he loved me, all this time lost.
Did I love him? Who am I kidding, I’ve always loved him and I thought I was over it until I saw him today, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
His words continuing to echo in my head as I got myself together. Finally building up the courage to come out of the bathroom I ran into what felt like a brick wall as a strong set of arms steadied me.
"Hey, I'm Carmelo's friend Trick. I was looking for him, have you seen him,” the gentleman said as I looked at Angela, who stood behind him.
“He left and went upstairs,” I said as Trick frowned. “So did ya’ll talk?” Angela asked as I nodded.
“Kayla, did he tell you how he felt?” Trick asked as I nodded again.
"Uh, can you give us an answers and stop all that damn nodding," Angela said I sighed.
“He told me he loved me and that he always had,” I said overwhelmed as Angela squealed in delight. “I knew it! My eyes don’t fool me," she said as I wiped my tears.
“How do you feel about what Melo said?” Trick asked as I contemplated his words.
“I love him too;” I said feeling relieved to say it out loud as Angela hugged me.
“Then go to him,” she whispered as I nodded in understanding. I guess this is what she mean the other day about me putting my big girl panties on.
I had to tell him he wasn’t wrong, I did love him.
“Trick, Do you know what room he’s in?' I asked as he smiled. “Room 984,” he said without hesitation as I gave him a hug.
"Thank you and it was nice meeting you," I whispered as he laughed returning my embrace.
“Nice metting you too Kayla, and I’m sure we will be hanging out soon. Especially if your friend Angela here gives me her number,” he said as I smiled at him before I took off towards the elevator.
“Get ya’ man and have some mind-blowing sex you deserve it!” Angela yelled as Trick laughed. "Trick you better keep your eyes on that one," I said getting on the elevator anxiously waiting for the doors to close.
I felt nervous, the elevator seemed to be going so slow. I almost changed my mind, but the loud dinging noise let me knew I had reached my destination as I walked in a daze to room 984.
Taking a deep breath, I lightly knocked hoping he wouldn’t hear me, and I could leave.
“Damn no such luck,” I muttered as I heard him fumbling around the room. Just do what you feel Kayla, you already know he feels the same. Speak your peace and leave it at that.
Last night I thought to back to when we made good love
Listenin' to some Marvin Gaye all night long
Now I want that old thing back
It was like time stood still as he opened the door clad in only a towel and a surprised look on his face. Wasting no time and closing the distance between us, I leaped into his arms, capturing his lips in a passionate kiss.
It’s power startling us both as we moaned in pleasure as our ever-present need for each other continued to grow more intense by the second as we got lost in each other.
Reluctantly parting to catch our breath, Carmelo looked at me in wonder, caressing my hips.
Make these moments once again a fact
So won't ya, won't ya, uhhh, do it for us, babe
“So, you do love me?” he whispered in disbelief as I caressed his face his piercing gaze had me under his spell.
“I love you, Carmelo,” I whispered against his lips as he groaned reclaiming my lips, pulling me against his bare chest and into his room, slamming the door.
“I love you too, baby,” he moaned as his hands masterfully unzipped my dress causing it to fall at my feet as I shivered feeling exposed under his intense gaze.
“Are we really doin’ this?” I panted as his eyes continued to roam my body. “Yes, and your even more beautiful than I remembered,” he moaned, his breath now hot on my neck as he slowly grazed his lips across my neck, helping me out of my underwear.
I couldn’t contain my moans of pleasure as Carmelo entangled his fingers in my hair, kissing and nibbling on my neck.
Purring against him I felt myself losing control as his towel fell, a barrier no longer between us.
Good lovin, body rockin' knockin' boots all night long yeah
Makin' love until we tire to the break of dawn
But oh, come on, a-come on
“Melo, baby,” I moaned as he growled, his hands caressing my breasts as he teasingly sucked and nipped at them as my grip on his head tightened.
“I need to taste you, Peaches, I bet you taste so sweet,” he groaned using his tongue, licking a path from my stomach to my pelvis as he kneeled before me.
And turn the lights down, and let me get on it, yeah
‘Cause when I do, just me and you, it'll be so right
“Can I taste you, Peaches?” he moaned caressing my thighs wrapping them around his shoulders as I trembled with anticipation as he kissed my inner thigh trailing his tongue over my wet center.
Carmelo’s POV
“Yes! Please baby,” Kayla gasped, arching her hips against my tongue as I tasted her. Her hands gripping my face as I licked and sucked on her clit. “Mmm, you taste so sweet peaches. I knew you would baby,” I praised, her eyes rolling back in her head as I pleased her.
Her moans urging me on as I swirled my flattened tongue around her swollen sensitive clit over and over as she whimpered underneath me.
A-give me some good love
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
A-give me some good love
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots) Somebody rockin', baby, ooh
“Carmelo! Oh, fuck!” Kayla moaned as I groaned savoring her taste. Gripping her ass and standing up while still lapping up her juices, I lifted her higher into the air.
“What are you doing!” she gasped in shock and pleasure as my hungry eyes met hers. Her back planted firmly against the wall as she shivered against my mouth.
“I'm eating my dessert baby,” I moaned devouring her sweet wet center as her legs trembled around my neck.
I feel so good when I'm near you
That's why I always wanna be close to you
“Give me what I want Peaches,” I moaned against her as her gasps were coming in short spurts, I knew she was close.
“I want it now Kayla,” I moaned swirling my tongue one last time around her clit before taking it in my mouth sucking it gently as she rode my face, her head thrown back in pleasure.
"Oh God! Melo, I...." She trailed off as her whole body began to shake as her orgasm hit her strong as I slid my tongue inside her making her scream and writhe against my mouth as her orgasm continued to overtake her.
I moaned loudly as her essence drenched my mouth as I welcomed it.
Enjoying watching the pleasure on her face, I gently unwrapping her thighs from around my neck. Maintaining my grip, I slowly slid her down my body as she leaned forward kissing me with urgency.
“I need you,” I panted against her lips as she arched her back against the wall as I entered her swiftly, as a strangled moan escaped her beautiful lips.
I'm so addicted, I'm so addicted
To makin' love to you, baby
All night long, baby, all night long, long, long, long
Her moans mixed with the feel of her pulsing around me had me reelin’. “Fuck! Shit, I missed this Kay,” I confessed reclaiming her as she clawed at my back.
“I missed you too Carmelo,” she moaned as I bounced her with ease on my dick. Her arms around my neck and her knees locked on top of my arms as we rocked against each other.
“Yea, bounce on this dick… Bounce on it like a good girl. You like how this dick feels in this pussy don’t you?” I moaned.
“Carmelo, yes! Fuck me! Umph,” She groaned sucking on my neck, her wetness soaking my dick as it got louder with each thrust.
Kayla’s POV
“Yea, this that grown man shit, you like it don’t you? That pussy so wet for me Peaches, you takin’ it so good baby,” Carmelo praised as I whimpered against him. “Yes! I love it!” I screamed holding on for dear life.
He was right, we weren’t shy college kids anymore. This truly was real grown folks shit and I loved it. Clawing at his shoulders in disbelief and pleasure, I felt that familiar tingling starting to surge downward. Good lovin', body rockin' all night long, oh, oh
Makin' love until we tire to the break of dawn
“I feel you baby, don’t fight that shit,” Carmelo panted as I whined not wanting to cum just yet. “I got you, I’ma make you cum,” he groaned as I gasped, his thrusts becoming more powerful as he revealed his plan for the night.
“Tonight, you gon’ cum again…and again…and again…and again,” he groaned as I fell apart in his arms, his mouth swallowing my cries as he held me tight.
“Yea, that’s it, you so fuckin’ beautiful,” he whispered against my lips.
But oh, come on, come on and turn the lights down, and let me get on it, uh
‘Cause when I do, just me and you, it'll be so right, so right, so right
Each stroke masterfully takin’ my breath away. “I want you to cum baby,” I whispered wanting him to let himself go.
I wanted to see his face as he found his sweet release as he eased us onto the bed towering over me. “Spread them legs wide for me Peaches, we gon’ get this one together, baby,” he groaned, his mouth once again overpowering mine as his strokes became deeper and harder.
“Yes! Carmelo! Cum with me,” I gasped as the new position allowed him deeper inside me.
“Mmhm, I’m real deep in this pussy, it feels so good too baby,” he praised. Moving in sync with him I knew he was close. His muscles began to twitch under my touch.
A-give me some good love
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
“Your mine,” I moaned as a low growl fell from his lips as I traced my tongue against his lips as he caught it between his lips gently sucking on it.
“You mine too, you always been mine,” he moaned as my pussy pulsed tightly around him again. Smirking, he placed two of his fingers inside my mouth as I gently sucked on them.
“Fuck yea, good girl Peaches,” he whispered taking his fingers and begins rubbing against my clit matching in tune with his strokes.
“Ahh! Baby I’m cumin!!” I exclaimed, his growls becoming louder as his body shook in ecstasy exploding inside me.
‘Cause I'm ready
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots) I'm so ready
I'm so ready, baby
“You felt so fuckin’ good. Shit, that was amazin’” he moaned gently kissing me as we came down from our trip of ecstasy.
“You ain’t never lied. Can’t wait until we do it again,” I whispered as he groaned against my lips.
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
To give you everything that we've been waitin' on
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
“Best homecoming ever,” he panted collapsing beside me as I laughed.
“I have to agree, it’s definitely one for the books,” I said smiling.
“So does this mean you gon’ be my girl,” he whispered running his fingers through my hair as I laughed.
“Uh, I would hope so, you done gave me head in the air…The damn air Carmelo, that definitely was a first for me and the rest I can’t even talk about right now because the feeling in my legs ain’t back yet,” I said as he laughed.
“That was hot as fuck wasn’t it. It’s you, I ain’t never done no shit like that, you make me this way,” he whispered pulling me close as I kissed his tattoo.
“Well, tonight was definitely happy tears,” I said caressing his tattoo as he smiled.
“I promise as long as you my girl, it’s always going to be is happy tears, I promise you baby,” he declared as I snuggled further into his arms.
“I love you,” I whispered as I felt his heart beating faster.
“I love you too Kayla,” he replied dropping a tender kiss on my forehead.
Where do we go from here, I didn’t know but I knew he was my man and it was going to stay that way.

• Trick Williams x Reader
Summary: Shawn Michaels puts you into a trio with Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. What happens when Trick gets a title shot with you at ringside?

_________________________________________
Leaning against the wall playing on my phone, I hear footsteps coming near me.
"Y/N! Just who I am looking for!"
I look up and see Shawn Michaels standing infront of me.
"What's up Shawn?"
"I need you to go take champ pictures with Melo. I think the fans will love it!"
"Whatever you say bossman!"
We both laugh and I look down at my NXT women's championship around my waist. I put my phone in my pocket and walk over to where they have the pictures set up. I am wearing a black and blue bralette that says "Y/N" on the front (kinda like Indi's), black and blue leather booty shorts, one black and one blue kickpads and black wrestling boots. I see Melo posing and taking pictures so, I stand next to the camera guy watching him. Carmelo has been one of my very few friends I have made since coming to NXT.
"Y/N! What brings you over here?"
"Shawn said I had to come over here and take some champ pictures with ya."
"Oh shit. Get your ass over here!"
He grabs my hand and pulls me to where we have to stand. We take a few pictures together. He grabs my arm and looks at me.
"Y/N. Wear this for the pictures."
He hands me a "Melo don't miss" shirt. I roll my eyes, take it from him and put it on.
"See?! Much better!"
We stand shoulder to shoulder, hold our belts up with our one arm and keep a straight face. Than I smile and look over at him. I put my title back around my waist.
"Well that was fun Melo. Thanks for the shirt."
I giggle and walk off to my locker room not noticing Trick Williams watching us from behind the camera.
_________________________________________
Sitting in my locker room scrolling through my phone at all the pictures of me and Melo on Twitter, I laugh at all the comments about us dating and how there is apparently chemistry between us. I hear a knock on my door and get up going to the door. I open it and there is standing Shawn and Melo.
"Hey guys. What's up?"
"Y/N. Melo had this amazing idea where you, him and Trick Williams will be a trio in NXT."
I look at Melo than back at Shawn.
"I actually kinda like this idea. We are all pretty similar in wrestling styles. Yeah I will do it! But one thing."
Shawn and Melo look at me confused.
"Trick will need to win a title."
"She's right Shawn. Me and Y/N are champs. Trick needs to fight for a title next."
"Alright you two. I will go and figure out something for Trick. By the way, let me know if you see him so I can tell him about this."
Shawn shakes our hands and walks away. I look at Melo.
"Wanna go find Trick ourselves and tell him the good news?"
"Yeah sure. Let's go!"
We walk around the hallways looking for him until we eventually hit catering and he is sitting there talking to Fallon Henley and Brooks Jenson. We walk over to him. Melo sits down next to him and smacks his arm. I stand behind Melo putting my hands on the back of his chair leaning a little.
"Hey its Melo and Y/N. What's good you two?"
"So I've.... we've got some good news for ya. Shawn is making me, you and Y/N a trio group."
"And he is also figuring out to get you a title belt as well."
Trick looks up at me and smiles. I smile and look down.
"You two really did this for me?"
"Of course dude. We got your back."
"Oh my God. Y/N and Melo. You two are so cute. Thinking you can win this guy a title is hilarious."
Dom and Rhea walk into catering with a camera following them. This must be Shawn's idea how to get Trick a belt. Dom comes out and slightly pushes Trick into the table. I step between Trick and Dom and get in Doms face. Rhea pushes Dom back and gets in my face.
"Watch it Rookie. You don't know who or what you are dealing with."
"And you obviously haven't been here in quite awhile to know who I am or what I am capable of."
She laughs and whispers in Doms ear. Trick is standing behind me with his hand on my shoulder. Rhea gets in my face again.
"We challenge you and your boy to a mixed tag team match tonight. And if you and your boy win, he gets a chance at Dom Doms title."
"We accept."
Rhea laughs and pushes Dom out of catering. I turn around and look up at Trick.
"We got this."
"Yes we do. Let's go get ready."
We leave catering and go to our locker rooms to get ready.
_________________________________________
I walk into gorilla wearing the same wrestling gear I had in the pictures and my championship around my waist. Trick is standing watching the TV with his back to me. I walk up next to him and put my hand on his back to let him know I'm there. He turns and looks down at me.
"Hey Y/N. You ready for this match?"
"I'm ready. Are you?"
"If we win.... excuse me... when we win, I hope it gets me a title shot at No Mercy."
I rub my fingers lightly on his back looking up at him smiling.
"I think you definitely will."
His music hits and we walk out of the curtains together not noticing that Rhea and Dom were taking pictures of us.
_________________________________________
"Y/N. Trick. You two are so adorable. We saw your little touchy feely backstage."
Rhea and Dom come out not dressed to wrestle. I grab a mic from the camera guy outside the ring.
"What are you talking about Rhea? Aren't you two supposed to be dressed to wrestle us tonight?"
Rhea and Dom start laughing at us and pointing to the screen. The crowd gasps seeing the picture of me and Trick backstage. I roll my eyes and look at Trick. He gets hit in the back with a metal chair and I jump back seeing Damian Priest and Finn Balor. They start beating him up and I try to get them off but Rhea grabs my hair and knees me in the back. I drop to my knees and she pushes me onto my stomach. She puts her knee on my back and pulls my hair making me watch the rest of The Judgement Day beating up Trick. They put a chair around his leg and smack it with another chair. He screams and grabs his leg. Rhea comes next to me and starts laughing.
"You will pay for this Rhea."
"Will I Y/N?"
She slams my face down on the mat and they all leave the ring. I start feeling a burning sensation in my nose. I push myself up with my arms and crawl over to Trick.
"T? You okay?"
I put my hand on his side looking down at him. He looks up at me holding his leg.
"Y/N. Your nose is bleeding."
He sits up with his hand on my face. I shake my head looking at him.
"I don't care. Are you okay?"
"I'll be okay."
I help him stand up and climb out of the ring. I put his arm around my neck and help him to the back to the trainers room.
_________________________________________
*in the trainers room*
I am standing next to him while the doctor is feeling his leg. I have a hand on his upper back trying to be comforting and watching the doctor. Trick looks over at me. The doctor pats his knee and looks at us.
"Ummm Trick. You just need to rest your leg but you should be good to go in a few days."
"Thank you doctor."
The doctor leaves the room and I am looking down at his leg. We hear a knock on the door than it opens. Shawn comes into the room and smiles.
"Trick. Y/N. Just who I was looking for. Trick. You got yourself a title match against Dominick Mysterio for the North American Championship at NXT No Mercy!"
"Oh thank you so much Shawn! This means a lot to me!"
Trick looks at me than back at Shawn.
"Y/N can be ringside right? Just incase Rhea decides to do anything."
"Of course she can! Better get ready. No Mercy is this Saturday!"
Shawn leaves the room and Trick turns to me. I smile really big looking up at him. He pulls me into a big hug. I hug him back giggling at how tight he is hugging me.
"Y/N.... there is something I really want to do right now."
"What's that T?"
"Ummmm.... find Melo and tell him what's happening!"
"Oh okay! Yeah let's go find him."
We walk out of the trainers room to go find Melo.
_________________________________________
*at NXT No Mercy*
It is getting close to Trick's match against Dom. Me, Melo and Trick are standing in gorilla getting prepared. I am wearing a black bralette, and new custom black and blue shorts that say "Whoop That Trick" on the booty. I have a hoodie wrapped around my waist because it is a surprise.
"T? Y/N? Imma stay back here and get ready for my match. You two have a good time out there."
Melo winks at Trick and I look at both of them confused. Trick's music hits and we walk out of the curtains. I turn my back to the crowd and slowly untie my hoodie.
"Hey T! I got a surprise for ya!"
"Oh yeah! What's that?"
I fling the hoodie to the side and shake my ass a little for the crowd. Trick leans forward and reads my shorts.
"No way!"
He grabs his chest and moans a little. I look over at him and giggle.
"That is the best surprise I have ever gotten."
We walk down to the ring and finish our entrance. Rhea and Dom make their way down to the ring. Trick is standing in the corner and I am on the outside lightly rubbing his shoulders.
"You got this T!"
I pat his shoulders and climb down to the outside. The bell ring and the match begins.
_________________________________________
It is getting towards the end of the match and Dom is sitting in the corner getting stomped by Trick. Dom grabs his foot and makes him fall onto his back. Dom rolls him up putting his feet on the rope and Rhea holding his feet. I jump up on the stairs than run across the apron and knee Rhea right in the face. Dom jumps up and grabs my arm.
"How could you do that to Mami?!"
I push Dom off of me and Trick rolls him up getting the win. I climb into the ring and jump into Trick's arms. He holds me around my waist.
"You did it!"
"With your help! And in front of my mom!"
He points over to his mom jumping and clapping at ringside.
"In front of your mom?"
I gasp looking over at her and get off of him. The ref hands him his title. He looks over at me.
"I'm also gonna do this in front of mom and the world."
I look at him confused. He grabs my waist, pulls me into him and kisses me. I gasp than wrap my arms around his neck kissing him back. The crowd is cheering and screaming for us. He pulls back looking at me with a big smile on his face.
"I have been waiting to do that for a long time."
I giggle looking up at him still having my arms around his neck.
"Well to be honest, it took ya long enough."
He smiles, lets me go than rolls out of the ring and over to his mom. I jump out of the ring and walk over to them. He hugs his mom and the lights kinda go dark. He grabs my hand, says goodbye to his mom than we walk to the back. We go to his locker room where Melo is waiting for us outside the door.
"Trick! Finally got those feelings out huh?"
I giggle and look up at Trick holding his arm. He smiles looking at Melo.
"Finally!"
Melo smiles and pats Trick's shoulder walking around us leaving. Trick looks down at me. I have my head against his arm holding onto his bicep.
"Hey Y/N?"
"Yes?"
I look up at him smiling. He puts his hand on my cheek looking at me.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes! Yes!"
He grabs my face and kisses me hard. I wrap my arms around his neck kissing him back. We hear someone clear their throat behind us. We stop kissing seeing his mom standing behind us with her arms crossed. I giggle and blush really bad. Trick hugs his mom and starts crying. We celebrate with her and hang out in his locker room. Trick takes a selfie with me and his mom. His mom leaves and we say our goodbyes to her.
"I can't believe I won this championship in front of my mom and got the perfect girlfriend all in one day!"
I giggle and put my hands on his chest. He looks down at me and smirks.
"Wanna go home and "celebrate" our new relationship plus me winning this title?"
I bite my lip looking up at him. He smirks and puts a hand on my cheek.
"I will take that as a yes!"
He picks me up, throws me over his shoulder, grabs our belongings and heads out to his car. He sets me down and opens the door for me.
"What a gentleman."
I get into his car and he races around to the other side getting in the driver's seat. We head off to his place for a night to remember.....

NXT's Mami
Pairing: Carmelo Hayes x Fem reader x Trick Williams
Description: You challenge and have a match with Rhea after her and Dom arrive and cause chaos on NXT
As soon as the duo arrived to NXT, you were always alert and annoyed whenever Rhea and Dom were around you. Mostly it would be on camera while they annoy the boys and occasionally tease you barely seeing either one of them without the other or backstage without a camera not too far behind, but it was when Trick won the North American championship from dom where things went to utter shit and complete hell of having interferences from rhea during your matches and the boys having to deal with the rest of the Judgement Day throughout the next few weeks leading to a rematch a few days later interfering and beating the hell out of rhea as chaos broke out but you were crushed when dom won the title back but it was the boys getting ruthlessly jumped right after the match that was the final straw as you yell and spear rhea through the barricade outside of the ring with adrenaline flowing through you head to toe. After Iljia and a few others ran out, you grabbed a mic as you smiled in the ring "You may be Mami on Raw and the WWE world women's champion but this is NXT, you're gonna learn just how we deal with you WWE wrestlers that wanna give our brand shit and a bad name, in this ring and arena, I am Mami!" the crowd was a mix of reactions especially with chants in your corner "NXT's Mami!" you mock her with a small wave and evil smile before jumping on the ring and making a chop with the motion while asking the crowd "We all got two words for each and every one of you" and the crowd yells right behind as the roster either flipped them off or yelled with the crowd "Suck it!" you were laughing as Melo and trick carried you backstage while you spent the next few weeks preparing for your match with rhea. It seemed the odds were in your favor when the guest referee for the match was revealed to be Charlotte Flair who was a dear friend to you since she was your mentor early on in your career, after the match being so close over and over again finally you won being sandwiched between trick and melo as the roster was over the moon while everyone watches the judgement day retreat with their tails between their legs smiling at the scowl on rhea's face and yet again hearing the chants of "NXT's Mami" throughout the arena.

is it bad I can understand Carmelo's side in their feud and it acc sounds moral?? like trick did make a promise... and he broke it, and pushed Carmelo to the side.
I still love them both tho 😭 maybe im just biased cause I love heels 🤷♀️

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 | chapter 5

previous | chapter 5 | next
꩜ synopsis: you’re best friends. just best friends. except when she lingers a little too long at your door. except when she calls you her favorite, and it doesn’t feel like a joke. except when her fingers graze yours and neither of you pull away. except when you start to wonder if she’s wondering, too…
꩜ Pairing: Ellie Williams x fem reader (no use of y/n)
꩜ CW: your usual swearing.
꩜ WC: 6.2K
꩜ A/N: I’m back my loves, (finally) and i’m terrified and excited about this chapter, it took me a bit to get it right so i hope u like it<3 (also this is NOT the end ok, i have some more tricks under my sleeve wink wink)
୨୧─── ⋆୨୧⋆ ───୨୧─── ⋆୨୧⋆ ───୨୧─── ⋆୨୧⋆ ───୨୧
Blind. That’s what Ellie was. Blind.
How the hell hadn’t she seen it sooner?
All the lingering glances, the racing pulse whenever you smiled at her, the way her fingers twitched when yours brushed hers—God, even platonically. The way your voice settled in her chest like it belonged there. How everything—every sound, every thought, every corner of her mind—always came back to you.
She should’ve known.
But maybe she did know. Somewhere, deep down, in that place she never let herself go. She was just good at burying it. Smothering the feelings before they could fully form. Drowning them in sarcasm, in excuses, in "we’re just friends" and "don’t be stupid, Ellie."
But how could she bury something that bloomed every time you looked at her like that?
Like she was your person. Like no one else mattered.
Maybe she imagined it. Maybe you didn’t know. Maybe you didn’t feel it too. But that night—God, that night—you leaned in. Almost. Just enough to drive her insane replaying the moment ever since.
She cursed the goddamn event coordinator since then.
What if she hadn’t said her name?
Would you have kissed her? Pulled away? Laughed? Would you still be speaking to her now?
It was all one big what if, hanging heavy over her chest.
She hadn’t been able to look at her phone without her stomach flipping. There was still so much left unsaid, and Ellie didn’t know if she was ready to say any of it. But Jesse, as always, wasn’t about to let her hide.
She was pacing her studio, camera lenses scattered like thoughts. This place used to be her safe space—somewhere to escape. But now, even here, she couldn’t get you out of her head.
“That’s what you’re doing, y’know,” Jesse said, casually flipping through an old photography zine on the couch. “You’re spiraling.”
“I’m not spiraling,” Ellie muttered, dragging her hands down her face. “I’m just… stuck.”
Jesse raised an eyebrow. “Ellie, you’re pacing a hole into the floor.”
Ellie dropped into her chair, elbows on her knees, fidgeting with the frayed hem of her shirt. “She didn’t back off when I leaned in,” she said, voice quiet. “She didn’t move. I swear to God, Jesse, we were right there.”
“Yeah. Until that lady came in—Eva?” Jesse tilted his head. “She’s the villain now?”
“Public enemy number one,” Ellie muttered. “She burst in right at the worst fucking moment.”
“You sure that’s a bad thing?”
Ellie hesitated. “I don’t know. I’m not even sure what would’ve happened if she didn’t.” She leaned back with a groan. “I probably would’ve panicked. Or kissed her. Or both.”
Jesse set the zine aside. His expression softened. “You really care about her, huh?”
Ellie’s jaw clenched. “She’s my best friend, man. But it’s not just that. It hasn’t been just that for a long time. I didn’t even realize it until the gala, and now it’s like… I can’t breathe without thinking about her. I don’t even know if she wants the same thing. What if I ruin it?”
Jesse was quiet for a second. Then he leaned forward, elbows on his knees. “What if you don’t? What if she’s waiting for you to say something because she’s scared to lose you too?”
Ellie swallowed, chest aching. “I hate this.”
“I know. But you hate not knowing more.”
Ellie leaned back in her chair, staring at the ceiling. Her throat felt tight. Her fingers curled into fists on her lap.
“I can’t fuck this one up,” she whispered. “Especially not her.”
The diner was packed, as usual. Maria had asked you to cover for Jasmine—who’d called in sick, though you were almost certain she was just nursing a hangover. Either way, here you were, caught in the middle of the lunch rush chaos—juggling orders, wiping down sticky syrup-coated tables, and trying not to lose your mind. That’s when the soft chime of the bell above the door caught your attention.
You didn’t even need to look up to know it was Dina. She always came around this time on Wednesdays—part routine, part check-in.
You slid a menu across the counter without saying a word, and Dina gave you a look. “You’re doing the thing again.”
“What thing?”
“The thing where you act all chill but you’re obviously losing your shit.”
You exhaled through your nose, pouring coffee on the mug that sat in front of Dina as if the act alone could ground you. “I told you everything already.”
“Yeah, at one in the morning,” she said, stirring cream into her coffee. “You called me mid-panic. I need details now that we’re both functioning humans.”
You chewed your bottom lip, glancing around before leaning in a little. “We almost kissed.”
Dina blinked, then leaned forward with a sharp whisper. “What?! You didn’t say that part!”
“I didn’t?” You frowned. “Shit—my bad.”
“Don’t you think, that’s like—vital information. What do you mean ‘almost’?”
You set the coffee pot down and grabbed a fresh order from the kitchen window, heart pounding. “We were close. Like, close close. I swear if that woman hadn’t called Ellie’s name, I think we might’ve—” You stopped. “But I don’t know. What if I imagined it? What if she wasn’t going to kiss me at all?”
Dina raised her brows. “Did you want to kiss her?”
You paused for a beat too long.
“…Yeah.”
And it wasn’t just a little want—it was the past two years of built-up something. Longing. Fear. Yearning. You had felt it that night like a wave, about to crash.
“She looked at me like she wanted to kiss me too,” you added, quieter now. “But then she left. And when she came back, it was like it didn’t even happen. Like we didn’t almost change everything.”
Dina leaned back in the counter, arms crossed. “Okay. First of all, I’m like 90% sure she’s just scared. I mean, it’s Ellie. Her idea of confronting a situation is to run away from it.”
You cracked a tired smile, heart still aching under the surface.
“We haven't texted much,” you admitted. “I mean we have been pretty busy too but, I don’t know if she’s avoiding me or if I should just pretend none of it happened.”
Dina’s voice was softer now. “What do you want to happen?”
You didn’t answer immediately. You picked up the empty coffee pot again, refilled someone’s mug, then came back to lean against the counter.
“I want her to kiss me,” you said finally. “I want it to mean something. I just… I’m scared, Di. What if I lose her?”
Dina gave you a look that was both sympathetic and knowing. “You’re already halfway gone, sweetheart. So is she. You’re both just too stubborn to admit it.”
You stared out at the diner, its quiet hum a stark contrast to the storm inside your chest.
You hadn’t said it out loud to Ellie, and maybe you wouldn’t for a while. But still—it was there, gnawing at your ribs like a secret too big to keep.
You were in love with her. And it was terrifying.
“Yeah, well—speaking of,” you said, shifting subject with a knowing grin. “What about you and Jesse?”
Dina froze mid-sip, eyes narrowing at the sudden ambush. “What about him?” she replied coolly, taking a longer gulp of her coffee like it might wash the question away.
You raised your brows, giving her your best you’re-not-getting-away-with-that look. “Don’t bullshit me, Di. I’m over here spiraling about my best-friends-who-almost-kissed disaster, and you’re gonna pretend you and Jesse haven’t kissed a couple of times?”
Dina nearly choked. She set her mug down with a thunk. “Three times,” she muttered under her breath, like she hoped you wouldn’t catch it.
But you did.
“Three—Dina what the fuck?!” you gasped, practically leaping across the counter to sit beside her. “Explain. Now.”
The chatter with Dina had flowed easily, a welcome distraction from the mess in your chest. Eventually, she left for her afternoon class, and you were left behind to wrangle the chaos of the diner. You wrapped up orders, wiped down greasy tables, and made sure everything ran smoothly for the rest of the evening.
It was better that way—keeping your hands busy so your thoughts wouldn’t wander back to her.
To her smile, her freckles, those green eyes you could get lost in forever. To the way she’d so obviously gotten jealous when you were talking to Abby.
You needed to talk to Ellie. You wanted to. But it scared the living shit out of you, the thought of her not reciprocating those feelings made your stomach twist with nausea. Losing her would mean losing a part of you.
But how were you even supposed to bring it up? It’s not like that kind of thing just comes up in casual conversation. Hey, did you want to kiss me too, or was I just drunk on sparkling apple cider?
Not exactly Wednesday small talk.
You hadn’t seen her in four days. That alone was strange—Ellie usually dropped by the diner just to say hi, sometimes to grab a coffee she didn’t even want. Her absence sat heavy on your bones. The uncertainty was eating you alive.
And then, as if summoned by your spiraling thoughts, your phone buzzed in your pocket. A new message.
It was from her.
Ellie had sent you one of the photos she’d taken at the gala. It was stunning—you, captured mid-laugh, the soft lighting curling around you like something out of a dream. Ellie always made you feel like a princess, or something out of a renaissance painting. She didn’t just take photos—she saw you.
You smiled without realizing it, fingers hovering over your screen before finally typing:
“Omg Ellie, you made me look like I have my shit together.”
Meanwhile, Ellie let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding. She hadn’t texted you in days, and it had been killing her. Not knowing how you were. Not hearing your voice.
She felt guilty—half avoiding you, half drowning herself in work. Telling herself she was too busy. Which she was. But she was scared. Scared that if she saw you, all the feelings she’d buried would come spilling out, no longer willing to be ignored. So instead, she hid.
Your message made her chest ache in the best way.
“The magic of photography, babe.”
She hesitated before sending it, then threw her phone across the couch like it was radioactive.
Your reply came quickly, “I miss ur stupid face. Wanna hang out soon?”
You nearly threw your phone across the diner the moment you hit send. It wasn’t even a risky text. A normal thing. Something friends said. Right?
Ellie read it three times, heart pounding. You wanted to see her. You missed her. And she—god—she missed you too. So much.
She just needed to keep it together. To not lose her mind.
“I miss u too. Sorry I’ve been busy w work. But u should come over so I can show u the gala pics ;)”
She almost hid her phone under a pillow after that one. Like a teenager. Like an idiot.
“I would love that. I’ll see u tomorrow then?”
“I’ll be waiting here for you with your favorite Thai food.”
You smiled at the screen. Of course she remembered.
“You’re an angel.”
And with that, you tucked your phone back into your apron pocket, heart fluttering quietly.
You finished closing up the diner, but the quiet didn’t bring relief. If anything, it made your mind louder. You lingered at the counter longer than necessary, pretending to wipe down an already clean surface. The warm buzz from texting Ellie had begun to fade, replaced by something heavier.
Doubt.
What if things felt different when you saw her? What if you couldn’t fall back into your usual rhythm? What if she looked at you and everything that almost happened hung in the air like fog, thick and unspoken?
You tried to shake it off, but it clung to you. Even as you left the diner and walked home under the soft glow of streetlights, the air felt heavy. Like the moment you’d been both longing for and dreading was finally catching up to you.
At the same time, Ellie lay on her bed with her arm flung over her eyes, heart stuttering like it didn’t know what to do with itself.
She’d texted you. She’d invited you. She was going to see you tomorrow.
What the hell were you gonna say to each other?
Would you bring it up? Would she? Would you both pretend that nothing almost happened? Would it hurt if you did?
She turned onto her side and stared at the old camera sitting on her desk. She’d found it while cleaning—an impulsive attempt to distract herself from how much she missed you. Ellie had scrubbed every inch of her place, unpacked boxes she forgot she even had. And there it was. Her first camera. An old instax fuji. It was the first one she ever owned. Joel gave it to her on her seventeenth birthday, and it was the reason she fell in love with photography in the first place. Her fingers twitched with the memory of it. How heavy it felt in her hands back then. How lighter it felt now.
She stared at it like it might blink back at her.
You were her muse, not that she’d ever say it out loud. Not yet. But there was something about you that fascinated her endlessly, like the light always hit you just right.
She could practically hear Jesse’s voice in her head, teasing her, urging her not to be a coward.
But it wasn’t that simple. Because this was you.
And you were everything.
She closed her eyes and let the weight of that settle deep into her bones.
The next day crept in quietly. Your shift at the diner was slow, save for one entitled Karen who nearly ruined your mood—but didn’t. Not really. Maria let you clock out early since the place was practically empty, and you thanked her with a tired smile before heading home.
You used the extra time to shower. The hot water melted the day off your skin, steaming the ache from your muscles. Wrapped in your towel, you stood in front of your closet like it was some impossible puzzle.
Three outfits in, and nothing felt right—too casual, too try-hard, too boring.
Finally, you settled on your favorite jeans and a soft shirt Ellie once said she liked, though you pretended you didn’t notice at the time. But of course you did.
You tugged it on, paused at the mirror and stared at your reflection, trying to figure what could be missing. Makeup. Just a little. Enough to look like you slept more than five hours. Concealer for the bags. A bit of blush. Chapstick.
Then you paused. Looked again.
Was this okay? Did you look like yourself? Did you look like someone she’d maybe want to kiss?
The thought made your stomach twist. You busied yourself brushing your hair, then reapplying chapstick, then pacing your room in slow, nervous loops.
Across town, Ellie was going through it.
She changed shirts at least ten times. Maybe more. She lost count.
Graphic tee? Too Ellie. Button-up? Too formal.
Now she stood in the mirror in a plain white tank and an open flannel she couldn’t bring herself to button. God, why did she care so much?
Her hair was messy, framing her features just right, she didn’t think too much about it.
She sat on the edge of her bed, buried her face in her hands.
“It’s just her,” she whispered.
But it wasn’t just you.
It was you.
Her eyes flicked to the camera on the desk.
“Okay,” she muttered to herself, standing again. “Jesus, what's wrong with me? It 's just her.”
You were already on your way. Fidgeting with your phone on the bus, rehearsing how to act casual even though your chest felt like it was hosting a four-piece marching band.
This was fine. Totally fine. Best friends hang out all the time.
Even if they almost kiss. Even if neither of you had stopped thinking about it since.
Totally. Fine.
There was a knock on Ellie’s door, she sprang from the couch, almost tripping on her feet. She cleared her throat, running a hand through her hair, and opened the door with what she hoped was a casual, ‘I definitely didn’t almost trip just now’ expression.
But it wasn’t you. It was the delivery girl.
Mid-twenties, eye liner so sharp it could cut heads and a smirk like she knew something Ellie didn’t, holding the brown paper bag like it was a bouquet of roses.
“Thai food for…” she double checked the receipt taped to the bag, meeting Ellie’s eyes this time, “Ellie?”
“Yeah that’s me,” she said awkwardly, tattooed arm reaching for the bag.
But the girl didn’t let go just yet.
“You know,” she said, cocking her head, tone slightly seductive, “you have that like… tortured artist vibe. It’s pretty hot.”
Ellie blinked. Did she hear that right?
“Umm thanks?” She took the bag and stepped back, her voice mixed with confusion and politeness. “Tip’s already in the app.”
“Oh…” The girl looked disappointed, she hadn’t got what she wanted, a reaction from Ellie.
“Alright then, have a good one” Ellie forced a smile, then closed the door with a soft click. She stood there for a second, blinking at the door. Usually–normally, she would’ve flirted back, get the girl’s hopes up… But now, it felt wrong, not because the girl wasn’t cute or whatever, but she felt like she was betraying you, somehow.
She exhaled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, and went to set the food on the coffee table. Everything was in its place–blankets, laptop, dim lamps lit, just enough to make it feel cozy without screaming date night.
She started to doubt, was it too much? Not enough?
Her thoughts were dissolved by the knock on the door. This time she knew it was you, and her stomach did a backflip.
You stood on the other side of the door, shifting your weight from one foot to the other, trying not to fix your hair again. It was fine. You looked fine. Normal. Friendly.
The door swung open almost immediately, Ellie’s cheeks flushed like she had ran a marathon.
“Hey stranger,” you said, smiling.
“Hey,” Ellie echoed, stepping aside to let you in.
You were wearing her favorite shirt, the one she mentioned months ago that looked good on you, and on top of that a jacket Joel had given you last year for christmas. You looked warm. Beautiful.
The silence stretched—not awkward, but heavy.
You looked at Ellie, green eyes meeting yours. God. You could die right now.
Her studio was dimly lit, warm in that quiet, lived-in type of way that made it feel safe. A few lamps were on, and she had set up her living room into a cozy almost picnic set up, blankets sprawled on the floor in front of the coffee table, with a few cushions adorning it. The place smelled like her—cedarwood soap, and something faintly citrus.
You kicked off your shoes and glanced around, eyes falling into the messy table near the kitchen, where all her camera gear sat down. A stack of freshly printed photos sat on the coffee table.
“Wow,” you said, crouching beside the prints, “You’ve been busy.”
Ellie scratched the back of her neck, shutting the door. “Yeah, trying to keep myself occupied.” She moved towards the couch, gesturing to the food. Two takeout boxes sat on the small coffee table, beside her laptop, which was connected to her camera.
“I already set it all up. Got your favorite.”
Your chest fluttered, “You remembered.”
“Of course I did, you never shut up about this pad thai.”
You huffed a soft laugh, the cozy silence settled easily between you, like a familiar blanket. You sat cross-legged on the rug, steam curling up from the takeout boxes, while Ellie clicked through the gala pics folder. The warm lighting from a single lamp painted soft shadows on her face. You couldn’t help watching her hands move on the keyboard—precise, fast, confident in a way that made your stomach flutter for entirely new reasons.
“So what’s up with all those empty boxes outside of your door?” you asked, breaking in half the pair of chopsticks that came inside the bag of takeout.
“Oh, It’s just garbage and shit. I got the urge to clean out my whole place. I was bored I guess.”
“Too bored without me I’d say” you said smiling, but you actually meant it.
Conversation with Ellie was always easy, natural. It was the best part of your day, and you truly had missed her. You updated each other on what had been going on with work and stuff over the last couple days (and of course Dina and Jesse gossip) as you both ate slowly, your chopsticks tapping the inside of the paper box occasionally. Ellie made an offhand comment about one of the photos, and you followed with one of your own, as well as updates on the last few days, the diner, her work. A few minutes passed. Then a few more. At some point, your legs stretched out, brushing against hers under the table. Neither of you moved them away.
“I missed this,” you said, voice low. “Us. Hanging out.”
She nodded. “Yeah me too.”
You were about to reach for another napkin when your fingers brushed hers. Neither of you had realized you were reaching out at the same time. A blush crept down Ellie’s neck, and you were so glad the room was almost too dark for her to notice the heat on your own cheeks.
“Okay so,” she broke the silence, “I edited these at like, three in the morning, so they’re not finished. If they look bad, it’s because I was sleep deprived—”
“Shut up, Ellie,” you cut in, nudging her elbow with yours. “You’re literally the most talented person I know.”
Ellie tried to hide the way her ears turned pink. She looked back at the screen, clicking through photos: Dr. Anderson mid-speech, guests caught mid-bite, posed shots, the venue decked out in fundraiser banners, some group photos of the donors—and then…
You.
You nearly choked on your noodles.
There you were—caught mid-laugh, the blurred twinkle of lights behind you, your head tilted slightly looking toward Ellie’s direction, like you were somehow looking straight through her lens.
Ellie clicked her laptop shut. Like she was trying to hide something.
“Hey… I was seeing that,” you said, feigning annoyance.
“They’re not even that good,” she muttered, not meeting your gaze.
“Oh shut up, let me see—come on…” You reached over, your fingers grazing hers as you pried the laptop open again. You clicked back through the folder, finding the shots she’d tried to hide.
And your breath caught.
Candid after candid of you at the gala: leaning against the bar, turning over your shoulder, your eyes glowing under golden lights. Your eyes widened.
“Holy shit, Ellie,” you whispered. “How—how are these even real?”
“That’s how I see you,” she said softly.
You turned to her. “What?”
She blinked, shook her head. “Huh? Nothing. I didn’t say anything.”
But she was still staring at the screen. Pretending to scroll. But her fingers weren’t moving.
The silence thickened, soft and heavy.
Your heart pounded loud and obvious in your chest. You were about to speak when Ellie abruptly stood.
“I wanna show you something I found. I’ll be right back.”
She walked down the short hallway to her room, disappearing for a second. You heard a soft clatter of something metal, then the quick shuffle of her feet as she returned, holding a small, older camera.
“Joel gave me this when I was seventeen,” she said. “First one I ever owned.”
Her fingers curled around it like it was sacred. “Still works,” she added. “Wanna see?”
Before you could answer, a soft click—the flash burst to life.
“Ellie!” you laughed, blinking spots out of your vision.
She grinned, camera still raised. “Nope. Nuh uh.”
You tried to cover your face.
Her hands trembled just slightly as she adjusted the lens, wiping her palms on her jeans.
“Come on, don’t be a party pooper,” she said, softer now. “You’re my favorite thing to shoot.”
You froze.
So did she.
“Just a few shots, I promise,” she said, giving you those puppy eyes you couldn’t say no to.
“Fine… but I’m burning them after.”
“You wish.” She started snapping pictures. Her voice wasn’t casual anymore—it was softer. Compliments slipping out in murmurs.
“Don’t move… yeah, like that. You always do that little smile when you’re unsure. It’s cute.”
Your breath caught.
She knelt on one knee, camera focused, trying a different angle, whispering again: “You’re fucking unreal.”
You looked away, flushed, brushing your hair behind your ear.
Ellie lowered the camera, inspecting the shots. Her cheeks pink, her smile soft.
“Okay,” she said, “these actually came out so good.”
You groaned and flopped onto the rug. “I can’t believe I let you take pictures of me while I’m full of pad thai.”
She laughed, setting the camera in her lap. “You look beautiful.”
You blinked. Sat up halfway. Heart tripping over that word.
She hadn’t even flinched when she said it.
After a beat, you reached toward her, with a mischievous glint in your eyes, grinning. “Okay, okay. My turn. You’re not escaping this.”
Ellie blinked. “What? No. No way.”
You grabbed the camera anyway. She clutched it to her chest like a teddy bear. “You don’t even know how to use it.”
“Ellie. Come on. Fair’s fair.”
“Nooo—”
“Yes.”
“I’m camera shy.”
You snorted. “You took twelve photos of me in a row. I get at least one.”
She hesitated, lips twitching. “…Fine. One.”
You beamed, taking the camera and fiddling with the buttons, while she muttered quiet instructions, blushing.
“Stay still, Williams,” you teased.
She stared up at you, completely frozen.
You lifted the camera and snapped a picture. “You’re, like, criminally photogenic,” you whispered.
Ellie groaned, hiding her face behind her hands. “Stop.”
“You look nervous,” you teased again. “Something you wanna admit to me?”
She rolled her eyes, voice softer. “I just… don’t like being on this side of the lens.”
“Well, lucky for you,” you said, lifting the camera again, “I’m great at making people feel comfortable.”
She sat cross-legged, glancing down. And you catch it—how unsure she looks. How soft.
“Ellie,” you whispered. “Look at me.”
She did.
You clicked.
Then again.
She gave a shy smile. You grinned. “You’re kind of adorable, you know that?”
Her nose scrunched. “Fuck off.”
“Never.”
You crouched down slightly, readjusting the lens. “Tilt your head. Yeah—like that.” She obeyed and you stepped in closer.
“Okay now, act like you’re not the coolest person I’ve ever met.”
“Shut up,” she muttered, covering her face again.
You laughed, gently pulling her hands away. “Come on. No one’s gonna see these. Just me.”
Your fingers lingered on her wrist a second too long. She noticed.
You lowered the camera, your voice dropping. “…Stay like that.”
And before she could ask why, you were hovering her, slowly, deliberately, you climbed into her lap, straddling her hips, pinning her gently to the floor. Legs caging her in. Her breath hitched. Your hands hovered over the camera adjusting the lens.
Her hands flinched against the rug.
“Wh—what are you doing?” she asked, voice uneven, her eyes flicking between yours. Propping up on her elbows.
“Making sure you don’t run away,” you murmured.
You raised the camera again. “Ellie. You’re so beautiful.”
She stared up at you—blushing. Breathless.
“You’re insane,” she whispered.
But she wasn’t pushing you away.
You rested the camera against your chest. Her eyes—green and wide—met yours.
“I mean it,” you said, barely audible.
She looked at you like she was unraveling. Every part of her, tight with tension, heat, want.
You leaned in.
The space between you shrinking.
“Why haven’t we talked about the gala?” you whispered. A sting of pain in your tone.
Ellie swallowed. “Because I’m a coward.” Her eyes never meeting yours, like she was too scared to even look at you.
You blinked. Your voice was soft. “You’re not.”
“I—I almost kissed you.”
“I know.”
Now she was looking at you. Raw. Scared. Hopeful.
“Are you…” she asked, voice trembling, “drunk? Or tired? Or…”
You shook your head. “No.”
Your voice was steady.
Your heart wasn’t.
She stared like you’d just said the most terrifying and beautiful thing she’d ever heard.
Ellie’s lips parted, but she didn’t say anything.
She just looked at you, like she was searching for something. A sign. Permission. Courage.
So you gave it to her.
You leaned in, just a little—enough that your noses brushed, your breaths mingled. Her hands hovered near your waist, uncertain. You reached up, slowly, cupping her jaw like you were afraid she might vanish if you moved too fast.
“Ellie,” you whispered, barely audible. “It’s okay.”
Then she leaned in—slowly, so slowly, like she was giving you every chance to pull away. You didn’t.
Her forehead rested against yours for a beat. She exhaled your name like a prayer.
And then—finally, finally—her lips found yours.
Soft. Tentative. Warm.
It wasn’t rushed, or clumsy, like you thought it might be. It was soft. Reverent. Like she’d been imagining it for a long time, and was finally brave enough to ask the question with her mouth. Her lips moved against yours like a secret, like she wanted to memorize the taste of you, learn you. Like she wanted to remember every second of this. One of her hands slid up your back, the other gently cradled the side of your face, grounding you both.
You kissed her back like your life depended on it.
Like all that heat, all that tension, all those almosts were finally allowed to become something real. You melted into her, one hand tangled in her hair, the other gripping her shoulder like she was the only thing keeping you tethered to the earth.
She pulled back just a little, foreheads pressed together, both of you breathless.
Her hand came up to cradle your cheek, thumb brushing over your skin like she couldn’t believe you were real. You were both holding your breath and breathing each other in at the same time.
Her voice was a whisper. “Fuck.”
You smiled. “Yeah.”
Ellie looked stunned—like the weight of all the what-ifs had finally lifted and left her with this. With you.
“Can we…” She swallowed. “Can we do that again?”
You didn’t answer. You just kissed her again.
Slower this time. Deeper.
You smile into the kiss. She sighs into it.
Like there was no going back.
Everything softens.
The camera, somewhere between you, quietly flashes once.
Click.
You didn’t pull away right away.
Neither did she.
Your lips hovered against hers, like both of you were scared to break whatever spell this moment held—like even blinking too hard might ruin it.
Ellie was still holding you like she couldn’t believe you were real. One hand braced on your waist, the other lightly fisted in your shirt like she needed something to hold on to. Her breath was shaky against your mouth.
You were the first to pull back—just barely. Just enough to look at her. Enough to breathe, your forehead still pressed to hers. Both of you grinning—dumb, breathless, shocked. Your heart— pounding like it was going to crawl out of your chest.
She was flushed. Stunned. Her lashes fluttered like she was still catching up to herself.
“…Hey,” you whispered.
Her eyes flicked open, wide and a little dazed. “Hi.”
You let out a breathless laugh, eyes crinkling.
Ellie laughed too, except it caught halfway, like it hurt a little. She tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, her fingers trembling just slightly. “Holy shit…”
“Yeah. Holy shit,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
She gave you this look—half awe, half disbelief. “I wanted to do that for so long.”
Your heart clenched. “Me too.”
You were both just looking at each other. Like the world had narrowed down to this little pocket of space between your faces. Everything else felt quiet. Blurry.
She brushed her thumb gently across your cheekbone, like she was trying to memorize it. “You kissed me.”
“You kissed me.”
“Not how I remember it.”
“Oh, shut up.”
Ellie smiled, and it was this small, crooked, completely undone kind of smile. The kind you’d only ever seen when she let her guard all the way down.
You shifted slightly in her lap, still close, still breathing the same air. “Is this gonna be weird now?” you asked quietly.
She shook her head. “No. I don’t think it could ever be weird with you.”
You leaned your forehead against hers. “Promise?”
She nodded. “Promise.”
There was a soft, comfortable silence. Her hands were still on you. Yours resting lightly on her collarbone. Neither of you moved to get up.
You looked at her again. Her lips were pink and kiss-bitten. Her eyes were glassy. You’d never seen her like this—open, vulnerable, glowing.
“You’re gonna be in my dreams tonight,” you said, half a joke, half truth.
“Dirty ones I hope,” she whispered, and you gave her a playful smack to her chest.
You swallowed around the tight feeling in your throat. “I should probably go. It’s getting late.”
Ellie nodded slowly, like her body agreed but her heart didn’t. She helped you off her lap, standing with you, both of you still quiet. Still stunned.
At the door, you lingered. So did she.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” you asked, voice soft.
Ellie smiled—warm, sure, “Yeah. Tomorrow.”
You stepped into the hallway. The door had barely begun to close behind you when she called out—
“Wait.”
You turned just in time for her to reach you. She kissed you again—this time messier, hungrier, like she couldn’t help herself. Like she wasn’t ready to let go. Like she needed to be sure this was real. That you were real.
And you were kissing her back, like it was the only thing that made sense.
When you finally pulled away, your breath caught somewhere in your throat. Lips glossy, a little swollen, you smiled—shy and stunned and glowing. Like you were in fucking highschool again and had just kissed someone in secret behind the bleachers.
“Goodnight, Ellie,” you whispered, the words almost getting lost in your smile.
Then you clicked the door shut.
Ellie was lying flat on her bed now, hands over her face, like if she stayed still enough she’d disappear.
She didn’t know how long she’d been there.
There was a camera lens digging into her side. Her tank top was riding up. She felt like she was vibrating out of her skin.
“Holy. Shit,” she muttered into her palms.
Her brain was looping like a broken record:
You kissed her. You fucking kissed her.
And she kissed you back.
She sat up too fast, ran a hand through her hair like it would knock some sense into her.
Was it stupid?
No.
It wasn’t stupid.
It was the most real thing she’d felt in years.
She let herself fall back down again, groaning.
“Fuuuck.”
You looked so pretty when you leaned in. So sure. Like you wanted her. Like maybe all those late nights and long stares and shared beds meant something after all.
Her fingers curled in her bedsheets. She felt insane.
And now you were gone. And she didn’t know what to do with herself. You said you’d see her tomorrow. But what if you changed your mind?
She almost got up three times to text you. Didn't.
What was she even supposed to say?
“Thanks for the kiss, save me my usual booth at the diner?”
She groaned again, grabbing a pillow and muffling a scream into it.
Then, a whisper to no one. “…I’m so fucked.”
But she was smiling when she said it.
And she already knew she’d wake up early tomorrow. Because you’d be at the diner. And maybe—if she didn’t completely combust—she’d get to kiss you again.
Meanwhile, you leaned back against your apartment door after it shut, keys still in hand, breath caught somewhere between your lungs and your throat. Your brain was still buffering.
You kissed Ellie.
Your best friend. Who you had been in love with for god knows how long. And she kissed you back. She kissed you like she meant it. Like she’d been waiting for that moment just as much as you had.
You slid down the door slowly, heart thudding out a whole rhythm section. Your fingers brushed over your lips, like you had to double-check they were still there.
Still tingling.
Still hers.
Then the questions came flooding in. Was it real? Was it a real kiss or a heat-of-the-moment kiss? Did she regret it? What if you just ruined everything?
You let your head thud gently against the door. “Oh my god.”
Your phone buzzed in your pocket and you jumped like it had caught you doing something illegal.
You pulled it out fast, breath hitching. It wasn’t her.
God, you wanted it to be her.
You stared at your screen like you could will her name to appear. She said she'd see you tomorrow. So why did that feel like an entire lifetime away?
You scrolled to her name.
Typed a message. Deleted it.
Typed again. Deleted again.
You ended up sending nothing.
Instead, you curled up in bed, fully clothed, heart thudding like it was too big for your ribs.
You couldn’t sleep. Because every time you closed your eyes, she was still there. And you didn’t want her to leave.

Your pick for the soulmate au!
YOU BELONG WITH ME.
FORMULA ONE DRIVER X READER

Summary: The red string of fate connects you and… Carlos Sainz. Unfortunately, you don’t believe in soulmates.
Warnings: Light angst with happy ending, not proofread, use of Y/N
Featuring: Soulmate!Carlos Sainz x Soulmate!Reader
Thank you for the request. I spun a wheel and it gave me Carlos!! I’m Watching the race right now… I feel like I’m losing my marbles. 😭 As of the time I am posting this, Norris in first!
The Red String felt like a cruel joke at times. It was a fleeting reminder of someone linked to your very soul since birth, destined by the universe to come together as one. It’s not like the books say, though, because the string nearly has a mind of its own.
It’s as if it likes to play tricks. One moment you’ll see a flash of your fate, drawn in a red line, from the corner of your eye, but as soon as you turn to follow its direction, it’s like the string was never there to begin with. The tales you’ve been told always say that the closer you get, the more visible your connection becomes, but you’ve never been lucky enough to catch it in the act.
Why is why you don’t believe in soulmates.
It has to be some tale made up to please the minds of hopeless romantics. Perhaps it’s just a trick of the light or vision impairment that causes the belief this string is plausible, but there’s no way in hell you’d fall for such a stupid thing. Soulmates weren’t real, and you were adamant about that.
You’ve gone years without paying it any mind. On rare occasion you’d see a flash of red, and for just one moment you wanted to let yourself fall into the beliefs of everyone else, but without fail you always shrugged it off and made up excuses for what else it could possibly be. On even rarer occasions, approximately once or twice a year, you’d feel a tug deep in your core, like someone was physically pulling your heartstrings.
‘It was just the weather messing with me,’ you’d tell yourself so nonchalantly. Deep down you knew better than that. You just didn’t want to, so you kept pushing it away.
To escape your own mind, you started working for the Williams F1 team in 2024. You didn’t have a high ranking job or anything huge— No, you were just another factory worker who sorted through the loads of fan mail and such that Alex and Logan received, ensuring their safety and security over all else. It was a lackluster job, but it paid well and it was a fun title to bear.
Carlos Sainz was a hopeless romantic. He could remember his father telling him the story of how he came across his mother when he was a young child. He’d always tell the young boy every detail of his red string, and how he followed it to the ends of the earth to locate his soulmate because he couldn’t stand living without her.
He wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps: Search for his soulmate, woo her, marry her, create a life with her— But he couldn’t. The string never made an appearance in his life, besides the occasional glimmer of light, like a teasing spirit. He wanted to follow it, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t even see it to begin with.
When he started racing, it felt like he was giving up. His schedule was too crowded to go on long hunts for this mysterious woman who was unknowingly occupying every corner of his mind. He looked for a connection with every woman he met, desperate to seek out the love and affection he grew up watching his parents share.
So many people were willing to be his soulmate, but none of them truly were. Everyday, every woman he spoke to, felt like a twist of the knife. It was unfair how love surrounded him, but never made its way over to bless his heart.
He found solace in Rebecca Donaldson. Smart, funny, beautiful. He was desperate for a warm body to come home to, even if it wasn’t the person he was fated to love. He was rising to the top in his league, which meant he’d have to put the soulmate thing behind him. He liked Rebecca well enough.
It was time to focus on his career, anyway.
…
But it all came crashing down faster than he could comprehend. It was early in the 2024 season that he received news Lewis Hamilton would be replacing him upon the end of Carlos’ contract. It hurt, it did. He understood why— Who wouldn’t want a seven time world champion on their team, but that didn’t erase the pain.
He tried to use that season as a way to prove himself. Maybe he could swap, and take Hamilton’s place with Mercedes, but as quick as that opportunity arose, it was snatched away even faster. The search started to feel useless, and Carlos started to feel desperate.
With his dignity left behind him, he signed with Williams, and decided he was going to prove his worth even more.
The promotion hit like a train driving at its full speed. One day you were mindlessly clocked in, occupying the heartless space of your office cubicle. The winter break season was coming to an end, which meant that it was just a few more days until things started to get more lively around the office. Cars would be running, letters would be flying in, and data would need to be crunched. You both dreaded it and yearned for it at the same time. At least it gave you something to do.
Thankfully, though, your boredom was quickly swept away as a breeze of excitement came bustling through the door. A few employees poked their heads out, but you stuck to your screen.
“Y/N,” A firm voice spoke from behind you. You perked up, turning around in your office chair to come face to face with your boss, James Vowles. In most occupational spaces, seeing your boss wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. But in the Formula One business, a team principal talking directly to you was either terribly good or terribly bad.
“Oh! James, good morning.” The guy was nice enough. It was hard to gauge what type of person he was, exactly. You stood up, straightening out your shirt. It felt like the professional thing to do, but afterwards you felt really awkward and out of place.
“Listen, our media manager had to quit for family reasons. I know it’s last minute, but how about a promotion?” He says it with a charming smile, like it’s not big deal.
Maybe it wasn’t. It didn’t sound like a big deal, but it was. The media manager got to travel with the drivers and the rest of the team— The media manager was part of the team. It was a huge upgrade from a factory office worker. You struggled to respond for a moment, sitting there like a blubbering toddler.
“I- Yes, sorry! Yes, that would be… Incredible, sir.” You politely bowed your head, and the world felt like it was spinning. Someone should really pinch you, because this felt like a longtime dream come true. You were finally moving up!
“Great.” He claps you on the shoulder, giving a hearty laugh. You’re frigid, unable to move from nerves. “Join us in our team meeting tomorrow, then. You can meet the drivers and all the engineers, and start discussing some ideas.”
You nod, lips drawn into a thin line. You’re afraid that you’ll say something stupid if you speak, so this will have to do. As the team principal leaves, you draw up just enough courage to shout after him, “Thank you, James!”
Carlos wanted to know if you were seeing it too.
He noticed it the moment he landed in Grove, the home of the Williams HQ. The bright red string gently tugging on his soul, as if beckoning for him to follow. It mocked him terribly so, existing as a challenge. ‘Find her,’ it’d say like a faint whisper in the breeze. ‘Your soulmate.’
But Rebecca waited for him at home, quietly loving him from afar. To even consider his soulmate felt like betrayal, so he made the most difficult choice of his entire life: He chose to ignore it. Even though he had longed for this day since he was young, and even though he wanted nothing more than to find you… He ignored it.
But it didn’t ignore him.
He was there for a meeting, and that was it. Nothing more, nothing less. This would be a good time to bond with the team he’d be spending a few years with— It was like a fresh start. But he had to wonder if he was subconsciously following the string, or if it was following him.
He stepped out of the car, thanking the driver before heading inside of the headquarters. The tug grew stronger, the string grew brighter.
You.
He sat across the table from you, trying to look anywhere but into your eyes. Your beautiful eyes that were incredibly captivating. Most of all, he was trying not to look at where the string tautly connected to your heart, right in the center of your chest, because then he’d have to acknowledge how it sprouted out from his just the same.
You seemed unfazed, and Carlos was left to wonder if this was just the result of trickery by fate. Maybe you were his soulmate, but he wasn’t yours. Maybe it was from the lack of sleep on the plane ride over— Maybe this wasn’t real at all. Maybe he was still asleep.
He’s not. It’s real. He can tell when he feels Alex elbow him gently in the ribs. It hurt momentarily, the pain subsiding quickly. It was sharp and quick enough for reality to sink in. “Are you listening?” His new teammate would mutter, taking note of his companion’s wandering eyes. Carlos just nodded, but his mind didn’t agree as it wandered off once more.
…
You noticed it alright. You just didn’t want to have to face your fear right now, because in your head none of this was real still. Soulmates didn’t exist— There was always a scientific explanation for something. Soulmates were a ridiculous myth. That red string meant nothing, it was simply…
Well, you didn’t know.
Before you could make excuses. The glimpse of red was just a weird angle of lighting, and the tugging was just acid reflux. But now? There was a bright red string connecting the man who sat just a few feet away from you. There was nothing to make that comprehensible.
After the meeting finished up, you decided to put on the most professional facade possible. You stood, straightening out your plain white button up and black slacks. Your kitten heels clicked on the linoleum tile, a friendly grin taking over.
“Carlos, Alex,” You began, gaining the attention of the two drivers. Your eyes locked with your soulmate momentarily, and you could see the befuddlement written in his eyes. “It’s wonderful to meet you. I’m Y/N, your new media manager. I’ll be charge of all the team’s official socials, and you can always ask me for advice on what to post and whatnot.”
You held your hand out to Alex first, still trying to work up enough courage to even look at Carlos for more than five seconds. For God’s sake, you were a grown ass woman who couldn’t even face her soulmate head on. The younger driver, by one year, shook your hand swiftly, uttering some form of thanks with a polite smile. You disregarded it.
You held your hand out to Carlos, swallowing thickly. He seemed to hesitate, but eventually gave your hand a firm shake.
This would be fine.
“Do you see it?” Carlos had spontaneously asked you one day. You were both filming a video for the Williams racing TikTok page. It was meant to be a silly video of both the drivers answering some questions from fans in preparation for the Australian Grand Prix, which was kicking off the 2025 season. You already filmed the segment with Alex.
“What?” You asked incredulously, your brows furrowed at the crypticness of his query. He nodded his head as if it was obvious, waiting for you to read his mind. “See what?” You had a feeling you knew what he was talking about, but you wanted to hear it firsthand. Just to confirm.
“The string.” He lifted a hand, waving it over the string. It wavered, but quickly went back to its taut form. “You’re my soulmate,” He said it as if he was telling himself rather than you.
It was time to face the truth. There was no getting out of this one. “No,” You muttered, your trembling hands slowly pocketing your work phone. The video had been long forgotten. “I don’t do that soulmate stuff.”
He blinked, shaking his head like he was trying to snap himself out of a nightmare. “What do you mean you don’t do soulmate stuff?”
“I mean I don’t believe in it.” You huffed, pinching the bridge of your nose between your thumb and forefinger. “It’s ridiculous. You mean to tell me the universe has destined us to be together? I mean, come on. You already have a girlfriend, and we just met. We’re both going on thirty— Why would we just now be meeting?!”
You sucked in a breath, realizing that you had been ranting unintentionally. After another sigh, you just shook your head and crossed your arms.
“You have visible proof, and you’re denying it?”
“Yes, because it’s just too… Insane to imagine.” It had always been that way— There was no life without soulmates, but some people denied everything out there. You were one of them. “I’m sorry, Carlos.”
He felt his heart shatter right there. With a deep breath, he shook the pain off. “Let’s just film the video.” You had no complaints to such a suggestion. Pulling the phone back out, you began to read off the questions while recording his response.
The season was going well… For one of the drivers. Alex was performing beautifully considering he was driving for a team with a… Less than great reputation. He had already scored more points in two races than he did during the entire 2024 season. It was the year of the Williams.
Carlos, however, was doing terribly. He was too distracted to think about racing at the moment. All he wanted was you. All you wanted was to do your job, and to avoid him. That’s what it seemed like, anyway.
He decided not to give up. You might not believe in soulmates, but surely you believed in love. Carlos would just have to win you over from scratch— The old fashioned way.
He broke up with Rebecca. It was hard, but she took the news well and wished him luck with his career. He was sure she was probably looking for her own true soulmate herself.
It started off slowly. He’d compliment you in passing, you’d thank him, and you’d both move on. But as the days went by, his efforts became more dramatic. Flowers delivered to your hotel room, light brushing of hands while walking, unintentional lunch and dinner dates where you guys just ‘happened’ to be in the same place at the same time.
If you could forget your bonded fates, Carlos was good company.
…
“What are your intentions?” You asked suddenly, taking him by surprise. It was another mishap where you both decided to get lunch at the same local place, and he chose to sit with you for whatever reason. He perked up, slurping up the noddles of his pasta.
“What?” He questioned innocently with the tilt of his head. You gripped your silverware tight, your jaw clenched. This guy was frustrating. Frustratingly charming.
“You have a girlfriend, why are you trying to woo me.” So you did know.
He wipes his mouth with a napkin, swallowing his bite before talking, like the gentleman he was, “I don’t have a girlfriend.”
“What?”
“I broke up with her,” He shrugged lightly. “I want to prove myself to you.”
This was extra frustrating. Some guy you barely knew, who just happened to be your soulmate, breaking up with his girlfriend to pursue you. “Why?”
“Because,” He looked you in the eyes, and you felt your breath hitch. “Maybe you don’t believe in soulmates,” He tapped his fingers against the table, carefully considering his word choice. “But you believe in love. So I’m going to prove that I’m lovable.”
You stared at him, taking time to process his response. This was hard, because you found that incredibly cute. With a flushed face, you just shook your head and began to cut up your own food aggressively, earning a chuckle from Carlos.
The whole team was celebrating. Carlos had managed to land himself on the third step of the podium during the Miami Grand Prix, with Alex just a few places behind him. It was the first podium of the year for Williams, and the first one in nearly four years overall.
The party, limited to team members and their friends only, was lively and exciting. But even with this grand accomplishment sitting on his shoulders, Carlos’ only concern was how you were reacting. He sought you out in the corner, sitting by yourself with your phone. You seemed content.
“Nothing to say?”
“Congratulations,” You replied with a little smirk, looking up at him. “What? Were you expecting more?”
“I’m not going to give up on you, Y/N. You’re my soulmate.”
You rolled your shoulders back, looking down to hide the fond grin on your face. “Keep trying, Sainz.”

It was hard to pick your favorite season on campus.
During move in every year, at the end of summer, the air felt full of promise. The music was loud from passing by cars, the bars especially crowded during syllabus week.
Winter was pretty, too, with the string lights that adorned the town and the ice skating rink that was put up downtown. It was easy to blow dining dollars on the hot chocolate and donut truck that was always posted nearby.
There was spring, when all of the campus greenery started to bloom. It felt like tradition for all classes to be skipped on that first warm day every year, the campus green filled with hammocks and picnic blankets.
But fall.
Campus felt like it was made for fall.
The sun was still warm, but the leaves were turning. It was the perfect time, the colors still bright and vivid, the brief window before they faded to brown.
Pumpkins would be placed strategically within the decorative flower gardens, a last chance for beauty and atmosphere before everything died for the winter. Come October, the statue of the university mascot would be decorated in a different costume each week, leading up to Halloween.
September was just a little bit perfect.
The warmth from summer still lingered, the promise and anticipation of the upcoming semester evident in the atmosphere. Still, there was an indication of fall. The trees were green and yellow and orange and some strange colors in between. People were already planning their Halloween costumes. Something about the sunshine this time of year always felt different. Looked a little more beautiful, maybe.
"It looks like the early 2000's here. On this street," You mumbled, stepping carefully over the curb as you gripped tighter onto the brown paper bag in your arms.
"The fuck does that mean?" Your best friend snorted from beside you, shooting you a sidelong glance.
Your eyebrows knit together immediately as you catch Ellie's glance, her pale green eyes giving you a once over. Still, you defended your observation.
"It looks like a trick or treating street," you mumbled, your sight following along the sidewalk. Leaves were already starting to fall, littering the sidewalk.
"Like how it would look when you were a kid. Reminds me of Halloweentown," you explained lightly, continuing to walk back to campus.
Paper grocery bags in hand, you were making the short journey back to campus after venturing into town. Ellie would have driven, easily, but you always preferred the walk. It was only a matter of minutes, anyway. Besides, parking downtown on a Sunday was shitty to navigate.
You didn't mind living in a college town, as opposed to some universities that existed in the middle of a big city. After growing up in the small town of Jackson, you didn't mind being in a bubble.
"Good movie," Ellie muttered, seemingly more concentrated on crossing the final busy road before you would be back on the campus pathing.
It did remind you of Halloweentown, stupidly enough. It was the first thing you had said several years ago, when yourself and Ellie had stepped off of the school bus and saw a college campus in real life for the first time.
It had been a school field trip during the fall of sophomore year of highschool. Chaperoned by several teachers and a few worrisome parents, the school had organized a weekend long college tour, an attempt at getting students excited about higher education.
Back then, you had felt smitten with the university for stupid, insignificant reasons. The aesthetic being one of them, though you would be hard pressed to deny the fact that the way in which campus looked definitely played a part in your deciding factor. The drive-in movie theater that was five minutes away from campus was a nice selling point, too.
Still, it had felt cool at the time, learning about everything that the possibility of college had to offer.
Choir was still a thing in college, who knew? And you could major in art? Your chosen extracurriculars during that time period had been just that. You were in the high school choir, and Ellie had joined the art club. You had considered joining the art club too, just because you were jealous. At the end of the year, they got to go on a trip to some cool place with a lot of museums.
You never did end up joining, though, and had been unreasonably pissed when Ellie had been gone for two days, out of state. You got your payback the next year, when the choir had gotten to go to Disney and Ellie was left in Jackson, waiting for you to come home.
Now, art was just a hobby for Ellie, and the idea of auditioning to join a college choir felt laughable. Even so, when the time came to start seriously thinking about the idea of college, Ellie couldn't quite shake the memory of how everything in her had lit up at the sight of the university planetarium when she was younger. Soon after, Ellie had learned about astrophysics.
You hadn't planned to attend the same college, but it was certainly a perk. The small things that caught your interest during that first college tour had turned into a real curiosity once junior year of highschool had hit. Turns out, the school had a lot of really good programs. The departments for your desired majors were highly rated. Tuition rates were good, which was even better. Besides. Campus was gorgeous.
You had started imagining it, thinking about it, whispering about the possibility during late night sleepovers. When it was decision season, you were both on edge. It's not like you were applying to an Ivy, but it was the future. Who wouldn't be a little freaked out? The idea of one of you getting in and not the other was humiliating and nerve wracking.
It was thrilling, then, tearing open your letters together with shaky hands in the privacy of Ellie's bedroom. It had been a damn near stealth mission trying to get to the mail before your parents or Joel got to it first.
Joel was more easy going, attempting to hide his concern and curiosity between casual questions and glances, knowing a letter should have been arriving any day. Your parents, on the other hand, had been hounding you relentlessly. But yourself and Ellie wanted the moment to yourselves, alone. So that's what you had done.
You had checked the mail multiple times a day, your heart dropping to your stomach once you finally received the letter. Instantly it was shoved into your overnight bag before you had peddled to Ellie's, your bike wheels turning faster than ever before.
Ellie had looked like a kid again when you had opened the letters, shrieking and falling back onto her bed as you clutched each other's hands, the relief palpable as you read that you were both accepted.
"We should watch it," you suggest, turning your head. Your gaze fixed upon Ellie, focused on the strand of hair that falls over her face. Her hands are full, so she halfheartedly attempts to blow it away.
"Huh? Yeah, sure," Ellie replied, appearing as though she doesn't really know what she's replying to.
Someone on a skateboard is zipping by, their trail quick and unpredictable. You don't notice that you're nearly in their path, your focus on Ellie. Ellie nudges you with her elbow, pressing you out of the way.
"Wait, can't. There's some guest speaker lecture tonight and Dina gets extra credit for one of her classes if she.. Asshole," Ellie cuts herself off, mumbling under her breath. She glared at the inconsiderate skater, moving closer to your side.
"-If she goes to it. I promised I'd go with her," Ellie finished, adjusting her grip on the paper bag in her hands.
The bag crinkles as Ellie's hands grip onto it tighter. It was nearly stuffed to the brim, and the one that you were holding onto wasn't any different. You were slightly worried that they would split and rip before you even made it back to your apartment.
The grocery shop had been necessary, but the items were not. Yourself and Ellie had ventured to the Natural Foods store downtown, throwing any item that looked cool or weird into the cart without a second thought. It was the type of store that would still require you to go to a real grocery store after the fact, leaving you lacking despite the money you had already spent.
"Oh, right. I forgot that it was tonight. What's the lecture about?" You questioned, feeling both totally fine and not fine at all at Ellie's response.
"No clue," Ellie grinned, shaking her head slightly. "Friend of the year. I'm not even the one getting extra credit."
A huff of laughter falls from your lips as you spare a glance at Ellie, not allowing your gaze to linger. It was always so easy to fall into step together, like the two of you were naturally in sync.
"You're coming, right?" Ellie asked then, drawing a shrug out of you.
"Umm, I'm not really sure. I still really need to like, study and stuff. Plus, when Dina told me about it, I didn't want to just assume that I wa-"
"I just assumed you would be going," Ellie clarified, her words coming out a little too quickly. "I mean, we all did."
You pretended to think about it for a moment, but you already knew that you would give in.
Attending some special event lecture wasn't exactly your ideal Sunday evening. You spent enough hours of your week crammed into a lecture hall already, fidgeting in your seat and watching the seconds tick by on a clock while simultaneously rushing to take notes. Besides, you really did have to study. And you didn't even know what the event was for, or what the lecture was about.
But Ellie would be there. And your other friends. And you always did have some weird thing about missing out. Even if it was just a lecture.
"I'll go," You said decidedly, barely catching Ellie's gaze before she pulled her eyes away from your own.
As your apartment building came into view, you found your steps quickening. The walk had been nice, but you knew that you were both sick of carrying the bags by now.
Your apartment was one that belonged to the university. Since it was a campus apartment building, it wasn't quite as great as the others around town. They were essentially glorified dorms. But financial aid had paid for the majority of it, so you wouldn't complain. Or, just not often, at least.
"Cool," Ellie mumbled, her posture relaxing a little.
In an instant, Ellie's hand is reaching out to the bag that you're holding as soon as a small tear forms at the bottom of the brown paper.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
"We need to leave soon."
"I know."
"We really need to leave soon."
"I know," Ellie grumbled, a soft huff escaping her. She turned over in your bed, eyeing you with an expression that could only be described as a slight glare.
You met her eyes from where you were sat at your desk, twisted around in your chair to look at her. Ellie was laying in your bed, with her head on your pillow and your throw blanket wrapped haphazardly around her. It wasn't a new sight in the slightest, and neither was the uncomfortable feeling that it prompted in the pit of your stomach.
You confused it with annoyance, sometimes. Or discomfort.
Even so, it was normal for the two of you to share a sleeping space, or to feel just as at home in the other person's bed. After all, you had been best friends for years now.
There had only been a brief period when it had been weird, only because Ellie had made it so.
It had been junior year of highschool. Ellie had dated a girl for a couple of months, and promptly stopped sharing the bed with you during sleepovers. It had been annoying at the time, and completely ridiculous. You tended to get defensive about it, insisting that it was always normal for the two of you to share a bed.
Your arguments were unwavering, because why was it suddenly strange for two best friends to share a bed? Ellie would only grumble in response, insisting that it was different.
Their relationship didn't last long. The usual sleepover routine promptly resumed after.
"You literally only come over to nap," you accused, turning back towards your desk to glance in your mirror.
"Shut up. That's not true," Ellie huffs defensively. She sits up as if to prove her point, shoving your favorite stuffed animal away from her. You catch the action in your mirror, an automatic frown pulling your lips downward.
"What else am I supposed to do? You take forever anyway, Jesus," Ellie continued, and the action of mumbling her defenses under her breath seems to be more for herself than for your sake.
"You could get ready, too," you suggest, only because you know that it would annoy her further.
"I am ready?" Ellie's eyebrows knit together, her gaze fixed upon your reflection in the mirror. She looks confused instead of irritated, and you feel just a little guilty. If you were closer to her, you would attempt to swipe away her slight frown with your thumb.
"I'm kidding," you soften, because it was impossible not to around your best friend. Your eyes meet hers in the mirror, and the smile that you offer her is small. It's still hot outside, but Ellie is wearing a gray hoodie that you're almost certain she will never let go of.
"Are you gonna be too warm?" Your gaze flicks around the items cluttering your desk before you shift in your chair again, giving Ellie a once over.
Ellie shakes her head, rolling her eyes despite the way in which the corners of her lips faintly twitch upwards. "I'll be fine. Those lecture halls are always cold as shit, anyway."
Ellie's response raises a good point, so you're quickly moving away from your desk and towards your closet instead. Ellie opens her mouth to speak, but the sound of a text tone coming from your phone interrupts her.
"Check it please," you instruct in a mutter, rifling through your cardigans and hoodies.
Ellie automatically obliges, pulling herself away from your bed and carefully moving towards your desk to retrieve your phone. "Dina wants to know if we're meeting up at the event or before... Why the hell is she texting you?"
"Why wouldn't she be texting me?" Your response is immediate as you frown at a sweatshirt. It's faded and worn, but that almost made it better. You had gotten it as a souvenir from a planetarium trip with Ellie and Joel.
Ellie registers the change in your tone instantly, glancing at you instead of at your phone. "No, I mean- Did you even tell her that you were going?"
"You said everyone assumed-"
"But you never confirmed-"
"She probably just knows we're together." You turned to face Ellie, shooting her a pointed look while holding the sweatshirt against your chest.
Apparently, Ellie wasn't great about answering texts. That wasn't your experience, but you had heard Jesse and Dina complain about it enough times to assume. "Have you even bothered to check your phone?"
"Shit," Ellie mumbled, reaching to fish her phone out from the pocket of her jeans. She hadn't checked her phone in a few hours, probably. The look that crosses Ellie's features though, indicated that Dina hadn't even bothered to reach out to her first.
Your lips quirked upwards as you watched her, rolling your eyes. "Just tell her we'll meet them there." You turn back towards your closet, contemplating your options.
Ellie's gaze lingers on you for a moment before she shakes her head, turning her attention back to your phone. Her own phone is replaced back into her pocket before she slides into your desk chair, grabbing your phone carefully in her grasp. The screen lights up, flashing Ellie with a picture of your lock screen.
The picture was just a little blurry. Dina had been the one to take it. You all had gone to a concert about a year ago, which gives reason to the dark background of the picture. You were grinning wildly, Ellie's arm slung around your shoulders as she wrinkled her nose at the camera.
Ellie simply looked at the photo for a moment, before remembering why she was even holding your phone in the first place. You hear Ellie swear under her breath, but you don't bother to look this time.
It was muscle memory as Ellie entered your password, unlocking your phone. She navigated her way to your messages with Dina, her fingers pausing briefly on the screen before she typed.
you
we'll meet you there
Ellie thinks for a moment, her lips twitching briefly as she added an additional text, an obvious indicator to Dina that it was not you that was responding, but Ellie.
you
dick
Your phone sounds again as Ellie is still holding it, the response from Dina being immediate.
dina ✩
you never answer your phone!!!
Ellie scoffs, but can't suppress the grin that appears on her lips at Dina instantly knowing that it was her. Ellie's next response is a quick one.
you

"What are you doing?" Ellie questioned, tearing her eyes away from your phone as you draw her attention once more.
You paused momentarily, holding the strap of your bag in your hand. "I'm gonna take my notes," You admitted, chucking the sweatshirt at Ellie before stepping towards your desk. "I wasn't joking. I like... Really need to study."
Ellie clumsily caught the sweatshirt with her free hand, snorting at your response. "Bullshit."
"It's not," you denied, rolling your eyes. Ellie's gaze followed your hands as you rifled through binders and books on your desk, fingers dancing around cosmetic products that were also currently littering your desk.
Ellie gently sat your phone down, reaching for a bottle of nail polish. The color was familiar, as it was the one you were currently wearing. You had painted them just a few days ago. Ellie knew because she had been with you, and the nail of her pinky finger was painted the same color to prove it.
Ellie never really painted her nails by her own volition, but she usually let you paint them whenever you had asked. The color was a bit glittery this time, and Ellie opted for a pinky.
"So should I say that we're gonna be late, or?" Ellie questioned, her eyebrows raising slightly as she continued to watch you.
"We're not. I'm ready, see?" You pull a textbook away from the pile, waving it at Ellie. She swatted at the book, rolling her eyes in response. It was a habit she never seemed to shake, one that you seemed to mirror quite often.
It's a cue when you shove your textbook into your bag, and Ellie pushed out an exhale. "Yeah yeah, I see," she mumbles, standing up from the desk chair.
The sweatshirt is placed back into your hands after you hoist the strap of your bag onto your shoulder, your smile nearly impossible to bite back at Ellie's mumbling.
"Let's go though, before we actually are late. Seriously, Ellie. You take forever to get ready." Your tone is dry but the amusement at your own joke is evident by your expression.
Ellie practically scowls, reaching out to swat at you once more. "You're the worst, you know that?"
Ellie's half hearted movement is easily dodged, and you couldn't decide between feigning offense or giving her a hard time.
"You love me," you decided to say, and that seemingly shuts Ellie up.
Ellie eyed you for a moment, but her response lacks any weight. "Whatever. Don't forget your dumb key again."
"Oh my G- That was one time," you defended, leaving Ellie to trail after you as you turned on your heel, an indication of your exit.
"Yeah, one time too many." Ellie's voice lowered slightly as you both stepped into the hallway, turning around the corner and heading for the elevator. "You called me at almost like, two in the morning."
You nearly winced at Ellie's words, an awkward grimace-like-smile appearing on your face. She was right, anyway. But it had only been one time.
It was towards the end of the spring semester last year. Of course, you hadn't remembered your key until it was too late, arriving at your door after a night out with Dina without any way to get inside.
Instinctively, you had called Ellie. It had been late and you were humiliated, not wanting to bother anyone in your building until morning. Ellie had shown up for you in under fifteen minutes, not even pretending to be annoyed because she could tell by your voice on the phone that you had felt awful.
The impromptu sleepover had been nice, though. Carefully spaced apart in Ellie's bed, the two of you had scrolled through your photos and videos dating back to the first year that you had met until you had eventually fallen asleep, phones dropping limply against the blankets.
"Shut up," you mumbled weakly, face warming slightly at the memory of your embarrassment. "We had fun that night."
"Yeah, we did," Ellie relents with a grin.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
It had taken nearly twenty minutes to walk to the building that the event was being held in. By the time you had actually made it, the sky was growing dark.
You weren't entirely familiar with the building. You knew that most of Dina's classes were held here though, so you could only assume that the event had something to do with that. It would make sense, considering the whole extra credit ordeal.
You were slightly anxious that the two of you actually were going to be late, but the sight of a crowd in the lobby instantly eased your worries.
You spotted Jesse first, due to his height.
"There." You nudged Ellie's arm with your own, causing her to follow your gaze. Ellie nodded and so you grasped the sleeve of her hoodie, leading her towards your friends.
Dina soon came into view, as well as someone else that you didn't recognize.
"You guys are the best," Dina gushed instantly, throwing her arms around yourself and Ellie in greeting.
"You didn't say that to me when I got here," Jesse frowned, raising an eyebrow at Dina once she pulled away.
"Oh please." Dina rolls her eyes, but it's lighthearted. "You're the best for driving me," she tells her boyfriend. Jesse laughs at her easy response, shaking his head before bumping his fist against Ellie's shoulder in greeting.
Ellie wrinkled her nose, jerking her shoulder away from Jesse. It was crazy how such tiny things could manage to transport you back through time.
It almost felt like the beat of your heart faltered once Ellie met your gaze, her expression instantly changing into an amused smile instead.
She had these mannerisms that were so Ellie, unchanging despite the time that had passed. You had tried to describe it to her before, but she just didn't get it.
Even so, the way that she looked at you now, as though you were both a part of some inside joke or something, threw you back to freshman year of high school.
That had been the year that the two of you had met.
Since Jackson was a relatively small town, having a new kid start in your class wasn't exactly a frequent thing. Whenever it did happen, it always ended the same way. Within a week, the new kid would always end up being integrated into an already existing group, the number of friends associated with each other being more than you would certainly ever have in a lifetime.
It was a consistent track record, so you almost didn't think anything of it when an unfamiliar girl was assigned to sit next to you in biology.
You had been feeling pretty bleak about starting high school. The friends that you had been closest to throughout middle school had changed over the summer. There was nothing wrong with the concept in general, but it hadn't been a good type of change.
Starting freshman year with little to no friends didn't exactly give you the most optimistic start.
But then, entered Ellie.
Auburn hair, shuffling feet, and a book bag adorned with space themed pins.
You had told yourself it was your anxiety, the way in which your cheeks had burned when Ellie had been instructed to take the empty seat next to you. Admittedly, you had been a little shy, forcing yourself to stare straight ahead without sparing her a glance. But then, you were worried about seeming rude. On the other hand, the probability of a potential new friend was slim. You knew how these things usually went.
It was stupid, really, the thing that made you even speak to her in the first place. But you were grateful for it.
While reaching for a fallen pencil under the table, your eyes had drifted to Ellie's shoes, a pair of red Converse. It's not like it was an uncommon choice, but something about it had caused you to feel a flicker of camaraderie. You had been wearing Converse too, only in black.
As you straightened up in your chair, pencil in hand, you found the words leaving your mouth before you could think it over.
"I like your shoes," you had said, seemingly catching Ellie slightly off guard.
She had only blinked at you for a moment before glancing down at her shoes, which led her to notice your own. "Oh, hey. I like yours too," Ellie had responded.
You didn't normally just start conversations like that, but Ellie wouldn't have known any better at the time.
Hushed conversations at your shared table in the back of the science classroom turned into seeking each other out in the cafeteria, which turned into begging for sleepovers on the weekend.
You learned a lot about the girl that had moved from Boston to Jackson, and she had learned a lot about you, too.
The two of you were quickly inseparable.
You would scrounge up whatever coins you could find, hauling them to the arcade at the nearest mall. Ellie had begged Joel for a bike for Christmas, purely so she could ride around town with you. You would press bandaids on each other's knees, scraped up from whenever you laughed entirely too hard and closed your eyes while steering, or from Ellie trying to knock you off of your bike as a joke, causing her to internally panic when she had actually succeeded.
The entirety of your friendship was captured in photo strips and homemade birthday cards. The first time you had ever used the photo booth at the arcade, all of the photos came out looking nearly identical because you couldn't stop grinning to make any other expression or pose. For the final photo, you had managed to throw up a peace sign, prompting Ellie to stick up her middle finger at the camera.
Luckily, the photo had been snapped before you gasped, your eyes widening at Ellie. It wasn't a big deal in the slightest, but your parents were... Strict. Your sleepovers typically happened at Ellie and Joel's.
You had whined at Ellie, complaining that there was no way that you could hang up the photos in your room now. Ellie tore the bottom photo off in response, keeping the middle finger picture for herself and leaving you with the rest. You had both hung them up in your rooms.
Joel was essentially another parent to you. He adored you, evident in the way in which he had called you sweetheart, prompting a bewildered expression from Ellie and a delayed moment of her howling with laughter. But really, he adored the way in which Ellie had so quickly found a friend after the move, and how her face always lit up whenever she talked about you. He didn't even mind that she seemed to spend more time on her phone, always knowing that it was you that she was texting.
Despite how comfortable you always found it to be at Ellie and Joel's house, there wasn't the exact level of comfortability at your own. There were just a few things that your parents didn't know about Ellie. But that was okay. Anything to keep up the sleepovers, to keep up your parents allowing Ellie to join you on weekend trips and vacations.
When Ellie's birthday had rolled around in the spring, the pressure was on. It's not like you had much money to even spend at that age, but in the span of a few months, Ellie had quickly become the most important person in your life. You wanted to do something nice for her, even if your realistic capabilities didn't exactly match your personal standards.
The gift ended up being a small pack of space pins, new ones to add to her collection. A few of them were designed to look like different planets, while one of them looked like a little rocket. In addition to the pins, you had made Ellie a birthday card, the colored construction paper being filled with sappy paragraphs of friendship, memories, and promises.
Years later, Ellie obviously no longer used the same bag from freshman year of high school. She still had the pins, though, and they were attached to the bag that she used for school now.
Jesse's voice gained your attention, and Ellie ignored the twinge of disappointment that she felt when your smile was pulled away from her, and instead directed towards the stranger that Jesse was now introducing the both of you to.
Ellie attempted to listen, focusing her attention on the stranger, Connor. She had heard Jesse briefly mention him before in passing, but it never seemed like they were actually friends. They had met the previous year, and shared a class together now. That was the extent of Ellie's knowledge.
"Hey," Ellie mumbled with a slight nod, admittedly more focused on the way in which you were fidgeting with the strap of your bag that was over your shoulder.
"Are you good?" Dina questioned, raising her eyebrows in amusement as she watched you at Ellie's side.
You nodded, just barely getting to respond before suddenly Connor was addressing you.
"Where are you coming from?" Connor asked, focusing his eyes on you.
"What?" You were a little caught off guard, not grasping the meaning of his question.
"Where are you coming from?"
"Oh. Um, my apartment?" You blinked at him, before realizing his curiosity must've been piqued by your bag. "Oh. No, I just like... Need to study," you responded, your words fumbled and awkward.
"Dedicated to your classes, I respect that," Connor responded, his smile growing slightly.
Ellie resisted the urge to scoff. Dedicated to your classes? Yeah, maybe. Knowing that you'd have a stomach ache due to anxiety all night if you didn't at least attempt to study? That was more likely.
You mumbled something in response, a forced laugh exiting your lips as Jesse and Dina genuinely laughed. They knew you well enough, anyway. They knew your effort was practically a futile one.
When you looked at Ellie, she made a face that indicated that she wanted to roll her eyes, but was holding back. It almost made you laugh, too.
The light conversations continued as the five of you made your way into the auditorium once the doors had finally opened. The room was actually pretty full, and Ellie couldn't help but wonder how many people were actually interested in the event, and how many had shown up because they shared a major with Dina and were also offered extra credit.
"I've heard this speaker before, actually. He's really good. Even if the content matter isn't the most... Interesting, he makes it engaging, at least," Connor said as you had walked through the rows of seats.
When Connor talked, it felt as though he was performing instead of participating in the conversation. It was almost unsettling, how his expression never faltered. Or maybe he was fine. Maybe Ellie was just tired and being judgmental.
Jesse and Dina had agreed to sit in the back, so that’s where you all had gone.
“When? Did you listen to him speak before, I mean?”
Ellie’s head nearly snapped in your direction as you posed your question, her eyebrows drawing together. She didn’t really know why she was surprised that you were participating in the conversation, but she was.
“It’s a yearly thing, right?” Jesse answers on behalf of Connor, glancing at him to confirm the answer. Connor nodded, and then you did, too.
“Is it the same thing every time?” Your voice sounds again, another question as you had glanced between Jesse and Connor.
“A… Sort of variation of it, I guess? But I swear, you won’t hate it. If you can spare a few seconds throughout your studying,” Connor joked, his eyebrow twitching upwards as he met your gaze.
The corners of your lips faintly twitched before you tilted your head to look at Ellie, making instant eye contact. The action, however small, soothed whatever weird thoughts had started floating around Ellie’s head within the last two minutes.
"Even if it's the most boring hour of my life, it's worth the damn extra credit," Dina concluded, causing a snort of laughter from Jesse.
"That's my intellectual," Jesse teased, earning a laugh from you and a groan from Ellie. Dina lightly shoved at his arm, but let him lace his fingers with her own anyway.
The interaction managed to hold Ellie's attention for a moment, until she felt you move away from her side.
The group of five had been standing in the aisle, lingering by a group of seats. You had moved to sit down though, evidently more seriously concerned with glancing over your textbook than Ellie had actually assumed. Ellie was going to turn back to Dina and Jesse and make some smart remark, until she noticed Connor moving to sit down, too.
Ellie's eyebrows practically furrowed as her eyes followed Connor's movements. It looked like he was intending on sitting down next to you, which didn't make sense. Why would he sit next to someone he had just met, like, five minutes ago? Jesse was right there, why wouldn't Connor wait to sit next to him? Or go find his own damn seat, somewhere else?
Ellie watched for a split second, tuning out the rest of Jesse and Dina's banter. No, yeah. Connor was definitely trying to sit next to you. Which didn't make sense. Right? Who does that?
"What are you studying for, anyway?" Connor was casually moving towards your seat, looking over you curiously.
"Uh, I was supposed to have an exam at the end of last week but the professor ended up being sick so... Now I have it tomorrow and I'm totally- Oh, sorry. It's for my-"
Ellie's feet are carrying her, rushed and fumbling as she moves through the aisle. She nearly tripped over the seats, passing Connor and immediately settling into the seat next to you. You cut off your own words as Ellie sat next to you, a smile replacing your previous expression.
"You got it," Ellie assured you softly, pretending Connor wasn't still looking at you.
"Yeah, right. You know I'm shit at exams. I always have been," you complained, chewing anxiously at your bottom lip. People were still filing into the auditorium, the seats filling up surprisingly quickly.
"Yeah, you have been," Ellie agreed, grinning when your jaw dropped at her. "But. You haven't managed to fail anything, either. Yet."
"Ellie," you groaned softly, exasperated and amused all at once. Ellie could tell.
"Bad test taker?" Connor muses, and Ellie's expression faltered. Jesus.
"Anxious test taker," you correct lightly.
Connor sat down then, in the seat next to Ellie. She almost feels as though she briefly goes rigid, and nearly wanted to whirl around to Jesse and tell him to get his friend. She also wants to tell you that you don't have to keep answering his questions, based on the way in which you're twisting your fingers in your lap and your gaze is flicking around.
"Understandable," Connor replied, and Ellie sat back in her chair. Understandable. What time was this thing supposed to start, anyway?
Jesse and Dina sat down then, with Jesse next to Connor and Dina at the end. The seating arrangement felt weird. It was uncomfortable, and Ellie began to fidget with her fingers in her lap. It was normally always just the four of them, but now there was some Connor separating them. Ellie tried to catch Dina or maybe Jesse's eyes, but they weren't looking, too caught up in their own conversation.
"What do you study?" Connor was talking past Ellie, directing his words at you.
Ellie took a small breath while you answered, mentally scolding herself for being so fucking weird. This was not a big deal. It was really, literally fine. Ellie was just tired, that's why she was feeling off. She was just tired. And the fact that a conversation was taking place over her wasn't helping.
"What do you study?" Ellie's gaze flickered in your direction as you spoke, before fixing back upon her Converse.
"B-"
You quickly cut Connor off, an assumptious expression appearing on your features. "Business?"
Ellie could tell even by your tone that you were trying not to roll your eyes.
Connor laughed, shaking his head. He leaned forward in his seat to get a better look at you, past Ellie. "Biology, actually."
"Oh. Huh. That's cool."
You looked surprised. Pleasantly surprised, maybe, if Ellie was willing to admit it to herself.
You stayed quiet though, because the auditorium lights started to dim, prompting the talking throughout the room to grow hushed.
Showing up had been a favor for Dina, so Ellie didn't feel too guilty about allowing her thoughts to wander. She tried, though, to focus on the lecture, because she didn't exactly like the direction in which her thoughts were wandering in.
Ellie focused partly on the speaker, and partly on the way in which you were sharing the armrest of the auditorium chair with her, your bare arm pressed against the sleeve of her hoodie. It was cold in the room, like Ellie had predicated, but your sweatshirt remained in your lap, under your textbook.
The contact was small and casual, nothing out of the ordinary. Still, Ellie's gaze flickered between the stage and your arm next to hers. Even from the brief contact, Ellie wondered if her hoodie would smell like your perfume later. Usually, her clothes always did.
You were seemingly focused on the speaker, though your textbook remained open on your lap. Occasionally you would glance down for a few moments, your fingers tracing over the paragraphs before you would look up once more. Ellie wasn't watching you, necessarily, but she could see you from out of the corner of her eye. Besides, she knew your habits.
It was about twenty minutes before Connor shifted in his seat, causing Ellie to stiffen. He leaned in close to Ellie's seat, but she knew instantly that it was so he could get closer to you.
"Do you have a pen? Or a pencil, or something?" Connor's voice was low and quiet, and Ellie attempted to stare straight ahead at the stage, as though he wasn't bordering a little too closely into her personal space.
You hesitated for only a second before leaning over to rummage through your bag, wordlessly passing a mechanical pencil around Ellie, handing it to Connor. Ellie spares a glance at you, noting the obvious confusion in your expression. Connor's arm is carefully reaching over then, grasping the corner of your textbook and pulling it off of your lap and towards himself.
Your eyebrows raised and your lips parted, almost as though you're going to mumble words in protest. You faltered at the sight of Connor scribbling something on one of the pages, any potential words failing you.
Jesse and Dina were completely oblivious. Ellie forced her gaze away, swallowing harshly.
When your textbook was returned to your lap, yourself and Ellie both looked down at the new markings on the page. Ellie's eyebrows slowly drew together at the sight of it.
A phone number. Connor had written his phone number.
It was bold. Stupidly annoying, and overbearing, Ellie thought. She felt a little too warm, suddenly, and maybe it wasn't as cold in the auditorium as she had originally thought. She briefly contemplated shedding her hoodie, but she didn't want to draw any attention to herself by moving around.
Ellie watched as you stared down at the written phone number. The exhale you released was shaky, and Ellie felt freakish for noticing the detail.
She couldn't tell, however, if you were flattered or annoyed. You always did tend to get weird whenever a guy showed any sort of interest in you. Refused to talk about it, like you were embarrassed or something. Rarely ever followed up on it, too.
You were always like that. It made Ellie paranoid. Paranoid that the feelings she had been harboring for longer than she would like to admit were obvious, paranoid that one of these days, you were going to give her some pathetic speech in an attempt to let her down easy.
Still, Ellie couldn't help the way in which her gaze drifted to Connor. Her eyes flickered over his features as she bit the inside of her cheek. You had dated before, sure. But the relationships were always few and far between, and they never really lasted long.
Ellie just figured you were avoidant. Or picky. Maybe both.
Was he the type of guy you would even be into?
Ellie swore under her breath, her eyes dragging back to focus upon the stage, upon the not really sure whatever the hell this guy was going on about but they had all shown up to support Dina's effort for extra credit lecture.
The hour felt slow with Connor in the seat next to Ellie, his phone number now etched onto the page of your textbook. Ellie wanted to erase it. Instead, she anchored her thoughts on the feeling of your arms pressed together.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
The sky was fully dark by the time that the event had ended, and Ellie walked you back to your apartment. She didn't need to, but she always did. She was a good friend like that.
Your face felt a little warm, the knowledge of Connor's phone number on the page causing your textbook to feel more weighted in your bag.
As September progressed, it continued to grow colder at night. The wind pushed leaves across the sidewalk, the sound comforting during the day but bordering on eerie once it was night. You were wearing your sweatshirt now.
"You gonna text him?" Ellie asked, nearly wincing as the words left her lips. They sounded so awkward. Despite all of your years of friendship, the two of you had never seemed to quite get a grip on talking about relationships, or girls or boys or whatever. It always felt a little unnatural, which didn't necessarily suit your dynamic.
"Who? Connor?"
"Yeah. Connor."
"Why would I text him?" You held the door open for Ellie, the two of you stepping into your apartment building. It wasn't even very late, but it was quiet. Your steps seemed to echo throughout the hallway.
"Because he gave you his phone number?" Ellie snorted, rolling her eyes as she jabbed the button for the elevator.
"I don't know why he did that," you mumbled.
You really didn't know why he would do that. Well, you could assume. But it still didn't make sense. It made you feel a little gross, for some reason, even though he had been perfectly polite. And the fact that it made you feel gross, made you feel guilty in turn.
"Besides. I'm like... Too busy. With class, and work. And... Hanging out with you," you added, stepping into the elevator after Ellie.
"You are so full of it," Ellie grinned, rolling her eyes.
"Shut up. It's our last year, we need to soak it in before it's over. Like, make memories and stuff."
"Last ye- Jesus. You're already thinking about that?"
"It's almost over," you pointed out, shooting Ellie a sideways glance.
"It's September. Holy shit. You're already worried about that?"
"Ellie-"
"I know," Ellie relented instantly, evidently wanting to be spared the sentimental, nostalgic spiel for the night. Besides, she did somewhat have a point. Maybe you were jumping the gun, a little. You couldn't exactly help it, though. You were sentimental to your core, rooted and grown with nostalgia for as long as you could remember.
"But you have plenty of memories with me. You do realize that, right?"
It was your turn to roll your eyes now, and you purposely bumped into Ellie as you exited from the elevator, stepping onto your floor.
"Whatever. I don't care. I don't want to text him, alright? I just... don't." You felt a little sick to your stomach, and you couldn't figure out if it was because you were trying to justify it to Ellie or to yourself.
"But wh-"
"If you're so concerned about it, why don't you text him?" You interrupted, essentially joking in response but your tone had come out just a little too defensive.
"Ha. Yeah right," Ellie mumbled, slowing to a stop as you reached your door.
"I'm glad I went tonight," You said then, attempting to change the subject.
You catch Ellie's quick expression, and you can only assume that she's instantly wondering if you will text Connor after all. "I love getting to hang out with you," you clarified, not wanting her to get the wrong idea. "And Dina. And Jesse."
Ellie shook her head, just barely managing to conceal her grin. "God, you're a sap. You're no better than you were when you were fifteen, you know that?"
"Don't care. Look, are you gonna stay?"
"Stay? I don't have anything with me. Plus, I thought you were supposed to be studying tonight."
You pretended not to be disappointed, but you were. Honestly, you were a sap. Especially when it came to Ellie. You couldn't help how much you loved being around her. When you were younger, your parents warned you about dedicating all of your time to only just one friend, but it had only continued to prove to be worth it. You were completely enamored with Ellie.
You told yourself it was platonic. You always told yourself it was platonic.
Only your journal knew otherwise.
"Fine. Go, since you can't wait to get away from me." Your words were dry but you grinned at Ellie, fumbling with your key to unlock the door.
"Yeah yeah, whatever." Ellie stepped away once your door was unlocked, retrieving her own keys from her pocket. "Good luck tomorrow, though. Lunch after?"
"Yeah, definitely," you breathed out, grateful to have something to look forward to following your exam. "Text me when you get back safe. Love you," you called after Ellie once she was halfway down the hallway.
Ellie gave you a brief thumbs up in response.
Upon entering your apartment, you flipped on your lights and kicked off your shoes, carefully tucking them next to the door. After slinging the strap of your bag over a chair, you were already reaching into your pocket for your phone.

barista!abby whose such a SHOW OFF in front of girls she finds attractive, it so feeds into her ego when it works, and the girls are all ogling over her mastery at coffee art. yeah, it’s totally not the arms that are doing it for them.
barista!abby who hates that little red or whatever color haired fuck, ellie. the two have curated non-verbally a competition on basically whose dick is bigger. who makes the best batch, who makes this, who makes that. it’s never ending with these two.
barista!abby who’s convinced ellie in another lifetime was a king’s jester with her profound tricks that amused no one, but herself. the tricks themselves could threatened the woman’s head off alone, finding herself in a fetal position, in a pit of her own laughter. when abby eagerly sits on a unsuspecting “prize” during lunch, only to hear what can be described as a gust of wind. her flushed countenance instantly transformed into anger when the palm of her hand held a whoopee cushion.
barista!abby who went so warm when she saw you talking to the manager after ellie confirmed you were a new employee that if you stuck a thermometer under her tongue in that moment, it’d earn a hospital visit. and with ellie on sidelines teasing her for the state she’s in wasnt helping, unnecessarily quoting if she’s under weather, then rain on your home.
barista!abby who at the end of your shift on your first day surprised you with a free pastry as a warm, warm welcome. a small gesture, unfortunately, came with the price of a dispute with her boss, and money taken out of her week’s pay. amidst said scolding, a surprising opportunity came up. a good one at that, to train you at the expense of ellie’s days off of work to visit in her father, joel in their hometown, wyoming. despite the fact that she hardly listened after the inviting words of you, buzzed her mind with endless possibilities. it had her practically salivating at the numerous scenarios swirling around in her head.
barista!abby who’s a few weeks into training you, was losing her MIND over the taunting questions of you flirting or not. the causal strokes of your fingertips against her biceps alone were making the job harder. she had to get to the bottom of this, and like a detective corner you and have you plead for mercy.
barista!abby who, with an ironic twist, was usually consumed with thoughts, now found her mind solely preoccupied with you. her gaze fixed on the firm grip you maintained on the wooden handle, watching how your movements harmonized with its every swing as you rigorously mopped the floor. the purpose once held by the rag now seemed inconsequential as she leaned against the counter, arms folded, absentmindedly chewing on her lip. she imagined those hands of yours grasping onto her with the same unwavering hold they wielded when she stretched you out.
"take a picture, it'll last longer." you quipped, confidence resonating in your tone, and looking over your shoulder to show off the smirk that truly sells it. you knew she had been watching the entire time, and now had the satisfaction of catching in her act. she scoffed lightly, attempting to cover up her evident embarrassment, clearly trying to play it off.
“my phone’s in the locker, care to help?” she taunts.
barista!abby who watches you, utterly mesmerized by your frenzied movements against her fingers, pinned against the locker, using your hands as support to hold yourself up. the sounds you emitted resembled a blender running at full speed, loud enough to reach the nation if anyone had been nearby. thank god, it was just the two of you for the closing shift, dissipating the risk of scaring any customers away.
her ring and middle finger slid diligently in and out of you, while her right hand teased your hardened nipple between her pointer and thumb. her chin rests on your shoulder, leaving a trail of kisses on the bruises that dotted your neck. the gorgeous blues remained fixed on your mouth, agape to let her hear the sweet sounds of your pleasure. the corners of her lips curl into a satisfied smirk as she watched you tremble at the touch of her curling fingers on your g-spot.
abby's precise movements brought you closer and closer to the brink, the sensation was almost too much to bear. but just as you were about to succumb to the pleasure, her fingers slipped from your grasp. confused and frustrated, you’re flipped onto your back against the metal, meeting the gaze of the master puppeteer.
"you think i’m was gonna let you come and not see this gorgeous face?" she teased, admiring your disheveled state.
you frowned in protest, "i was just about to cum, asshole."
"careful, or you won't at all." she warned, taking your hand and leading you to a bench nearby. "sit on my face, pretty girl. no holding back." she commanded, her eyes filled with anticipation.
this time, with no complaints, you willingly complied with this new plan. abby's capable hands gripped the plush of your thighs, guiding you down onto her waiting mouth. the moment her tongue made contact, a moan tore itself from your larynx as a newfound sensation washes over you. your hand streams through her mane, tugging at the strands as she laps through your petal soft lips.
your hip, limited to their range of motion, rut back and forth against her prominent features, your body orchestrating itself towards it’s imminent. it wasn't long before the tension building in your abdomen snapped, sending you through the throes of your orgasm. your release painting the lower half of her face.
talk about a clean up in aisle seven!
barista!abby who makes sure you’re beyond comfortable, delicate caresses and praises when taking care of you. she, even going the extra mile, makes you hot coco, watching the liquid slosh within the mug, as she approaches you with a soft “there you go.” in response, you flash a smile and gratitude. she stood there, hands on her hips, observing you savor the drink. a grin tugging at her lips as she took in the sight of her oversized jacket draped over your shoulders.
intrigued by her smile, you raise an eyebrow and playfully inquire, "hey, what’s got you smiling over there?"
she chuckles softly, a light hue of pink painting her cheeks as her gaze momentarily wavers. looking everywhere but you, she brushes it off with a scoff, scratching her cheek. “nothing, just…” there's a brief sight of contemplation before she inevitably hesitates, shaking her head with a sigh. "nothing, forget it.” she dismisses.
you let out a hearty laugh, setting your mug aside. leaning forward playfully, you tease gently. "are you really going shy on me? like werent you just eating me out a second ago.“ a smirk adorning your features as you tilt your head.
her smile grows nervous, scratching the back of her neck as her blush deepens. mumbling a curse under her breath, she gathers the courage to ask, "i was just wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?"
i’ll let you be the judge of that. part two?
