It is not a moral failing to need medication to manage symptoms. You are not a bad person or a failure if you can’t solely cope without meds. Taking medication is valid and you are valid.

They should invent a painkiller that's not acetaminophen or aspirin or naproxen or ibuprofen. We're long overdue for an upgrade in OTC meds who's with me.

Would there ever be a time that Foreign Aliens/Non-Humans would have to be taught that Humanity as a whole doesn’t take well to being treated like they can’t take care of themselves?
Like if we do things known in our biology to cause us pain (spicy food) and the Foreign Aliens/Non-Humans take away the food thinking it’s for our safety, but Humans don’t take well to this.
Having to explain that to Humans, especially adults but even children, we have basic rights that state we can make our own decisions and we’re responsible for our own actions.
To be treated like children as adults, like we have no idea what we’re doing to ourselves would be a huge insult and invasion on our people’s rights.
I imagine it’d make the Foreign Aliens/Non-Humans very nervous to let their new friends/companions/coworkers/etc do whatever they want simply because it’s their choice and they’ll take responsibility
Not all children, adults, people actually follow through- blaming others for their own actions -but in the general populus it’s expected, encouraged, and frequent to be independant and responsible for your own actions
And oh boy, Imagine also having to explain the times of which it’s absolutely expected and encouraged to go against a Humans’ actions/desires!
How a certain amount of alcohol is not healthy, taking medication with alcohol, trying drugs from a planet where we haven’t studied the effects on the human body yet….

☀️ SUN - are they a morning person? what is the first thing they do in the morning?
"When I worked the diner, total night owl. But now, I'm up at normal hours like a human being. Not before the sun rises, oh no. That's just criminal. But I do wake up without an alarm clock, on time, all of the time. First thing I do is brush my teeth and take my medication, or I make a bowl of cereal. It's one of those, in any order. Nothing else gets done until those three do."

I know I have not been really active on here the last few weeks, and that’s mostly been due to very painful withdrawal symptoms from old meds during my umpteenth switch to new ones. But I am excited to announce my JJK OC fic will be dropping on AO3 on October 31st in Shibuya; it will be 15 chapters, with updates every week.
For the uninitiated: meet Wolfi!

Not cymbalta specific, but you can read up on this! There are tips!
It's critical to break up the pills (try a pillcutter or knife) to slowly reduce the amount over about 10 days. If you are out completely, go to your pharmacist and explain the situation, because they (and your treating doctor) can be sued for medical malpractice for not giving you a few to cut up to properly wean, because it's both cruel and medically dangerous.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Exercise and sweat out what you can. If you have weird dreams, set your alarm to wake yourself up every two hours so you don't hit that rem quite so hard. Don't make any big, life-altering decisions this week.
Good luck! Stay safe!
Thanks friend! I've been reducing it carefully over several weeks (lowest dispensed/prescribed dose is 20mg and I got down to 7mg) but to 0 it was still too big a drop unfortunately. Learned that the hard way.
I'm already looking into suing the doctor who initially put me on this medication (and to whom I went crying hysterically a year afterward, begging for help) because she put me on it against my wishes and honestly if she'd reviewed my file AT ALL she would've seen what I now see/know- strong strong indicators for bipolar 2, which means I never should have been on this med anyway, ESPECIALLY not without a simultaneous mood stabilizer. It's a whole Thing.
(hi internet I'm over sharing again LOLOL)
The alarm is a really good idea, I honestly hadn't thought of that! Thank you, and thanks for giving a shit 🫂

It's already past 5am and I am still awake. Didn't sleep much for days now because my past is haunting me lately. Any advice?
My best advice that I can give is writing down what’s bothering you rather than bottling it up. We like listening to music or calming sounds as a means of relaxation while sleep (such as rain, storms {at times}, sounds of a fireplace).
If none of this helps, I’d recommend doing light exercises to try and wear yourself out a bit. Meditation if you’re also able.
Stay awake from blue light (such as phone, computer, and tv screens) an hour before wanting to sleep.
If you’re able to get sleep aids and haven’t had melatonin before, start with the smallest dosage. Take one 30 minutes before bed time.
If it’s an issue regarding high heart rate (something we deal with), try laying down flat and not doing anything. Meditating as well just to help bring it down.
If none of these help, bring up insomnia to a primary doctor if you’re able and see if there’s anything that can help you that way.
