Character Design for Princess Leah, mother of Silver

Design notes & Headcanons!

We very limited information about Leah so most of my choices are headcanons

Her princess design is based on King Henrik's colours which I assume are the colours of royalty

Since the Knight of Dawn's hair colour is Aurora's, Leah's hair is based on Prince Phillip's hair colour

Leah's dress is based on Aurora's and Aurora's mother's dresses in the Sleeping Beauty movie, especially the veil, dress cut, and accessory shape (modelled after Aurora's crown)

As the Princess of Dawn, many see Leah as a kind and beautiful princess who is always surrounded by butterflies attracted to her spirit

Although she isn't unkind, she has a sense of pride and petty vengeance. Many don't know that pretty-looking insects aren't the only critters around her

Like how Silver attracts animals and woodland critters, Leah attracts insects and arthropods. To an extent, she can communicate with these creatures. Thanks to this, crops grown on this land are bountiful and infestations are extremely rare

Leah is usually seen working in the castle so she uses the time surveying farmlands as moments of respite from maintaining the royal image (she also learned a lot of swears due to this)

Almost like Silver, when she sleeps, she's dead to the world. She's gotten used to waking up with her little friends crawling around/on her. When her future-husband was assigned to be her guard, he nearly had a heart attack the first time he saw this

She has 3 creatures she's especially close with: Albert XLI the silk moth, Ravanche the centipede, and Paon the jumping spider. She planted Ravanche multiple times on Henrik when they were younger when he was being stupid or annoying

She almost used her again when she saw Henrik antagonizing her husband but he stopped her. She constantly reminds him that he has already repaid the royal family for taking him in when he was younger but his sense of integrity and knighthood always seeks to repay the kingdom

But she is no knight or fighter. When the war ravaged the lands and fae-human relations broke in part due to Henrik's foolishness, she was separated from her knight and husband throughout the war

Behold! My version of Leah, aka, Silver’s birth mother.

I know that the popular fanon for her is that Leah is a strong, take no bullshit from anyone Lady who kicks her brother around like a soccerball and is an all around Girl Boss, but I imagine her as the opposite.

I headcanon Leah as a timid and fragile person, as well as a tragic figure lost to history like many Princesses before her. (More on this tomorrow as it's late when I'm posting this and I have a lot to say about the dear.)

Design wise, I based her on Rose from Miss Not So Side Kick and some concept art of Briar Rose. She looks nothing like Silver, which made her sad when she had him, as she hoped for some proof that he was hers. (Again, more on that later.)

Henrik: *Grins at Livia* You're lucky we were able to save you

Livia: *Silences Epel, flicking her tail twice rapidly giving him a 'don't trust them' signal* Ebony, his name is Ebony and my name is Pearl..

Livia: Outsiders like us can be weird right, those are our names take it or forget it..

Dawn: Sir Ebony, Lady Pearl, I meant no disrespect about your names

Epel: *Glances at Livia as she twitched her ear twice, giving him a 'He's trustworthy' signal* It's fine, Dawn

Henrik: Pearl, since you owe us one, how about showing us your fighting skills

Dawn: Henrik, they're not from here and Pearl needs to rest

Henrik: You can handle fighting our knight here, correct?

Epel: WHAT??!

Livia: *Looks at Dawn and narrows her eyes, tenting her wing over Epel* That depends, can he handle me..

Livia: *Narrows her eyes at him then looks away* Gonna fight with that signature sword or a regular one?

Dawn: Regular sword and I put on less armor, Henrik said it'd be unfair advantage for me to be fully armored

Livia: *Snorts* Of course fatso did..

Dawn: *Walks eleven steps away from Livia, soldiers watching them*

Epel: PEARL!! KICK HIS ARSE! GET HIM!!!

Dawn: Ebony is quite lively

Livia: *Grins amused* He's my best friend, of course he is!

Dawn and Livia: *Leaps at each other, dodging the others attack*

Epel: *Winces, watching Livia get knocked down several times* Why isn't she fighting better....her beast mode usually kicks in by now

Henrik: *Glances down at Epel* Hm? Her beast mode..

Epel: *Leans forward*

Livia: *Dodges Dawn's attacks, going with his plan to play weak*

Dawn: *Glances at Henrik and frowns*

Epel: *Bites his nail, looking worried* Come on, Pearl..

Livia: *Snarls, her pupils dilating as her tail fur puffed up* Die...

Dawn: *Looks down at her startled* Huh?

Livia: *Slashes Dawn's cheek then slams him head first into the ground*

Epel: YES!! BEAST MODE! IT KICKED IN!

Dawn: WAIT-!

Livia: *Kicks Dawn off her and rushes him, dodging his sword and slashing her claws at him in blurs of speed*

Dawn: *Grabs Livia's arm and tosses her down, trying to put distance between them*

Livia: *Hits the ground and bounces up, landing on her feet as she spun and vanishes, appearing before Dawn and slashing his chest*

Henrik: Speedy and a quick attacker...

Epel: *Cheers, pumping his fists into the air* GO PEARL!! BEAT HIM!

Livia: *Snarls, meeting Dawn in the middle, dodging attacks slashing her claws across unguarded spots*

Dawn and Livia: *Stares at the other, attacking head on*

Livia: *Slashes Dawn's eye, knocking him over*

Dawn: .....I yield......

Epel: YES! YES! THAT'S MY BEST FRIEND!!!

Livia: Not much of a challenge.. *Turns away, her eyes narrowed*

Do you have Princess Leia headcanons?

I actually have a couple headcanons. I adore the fact that Princess Leia? Leah? Was known to be kind and gentle and her people love her for that. Just something about that kindness and empathy and staying strong you know? And how one kind step of kindness can lead to many others? (Being the opposite supposedly of Meleanor, but in reality, are they really opposites? When they loved their people and their families?)

I like to think that Silver got this kindness from his mother as well. This inner strength and determination and doing what’s right. When you have a brother like Henrik, how could you not have such strength?

But I also headcanon that even with this kindness and gentleness, Princess Leia knows how to fight.

If you know Black Butler, I would headcanon her as Lizzy:

A lady with a gentle personality and kindness, who hides her true abilities. And when push came to shove, she unleashes her potential. Maybe she fought and chose to be bait when she ran away, so Silver won’t be found and could stay protected.

Maybe his abilities and strength came not only from the Knight of Dawn and Lilia but also his mother? I just think it would be awesome if that was the case you know?

Especially since General Lilia Vanrouge was all “your princess is nothing like ours” kind of thing. And then proceeded to kind of insult both Leia and Meleanor 😂😂

Imagine General Lilia seeing this type of Princess Leia? His reaction would be hilarious 🤣🤣

Major TWST Chapter 7 Spoilers!!

So we all know Queen Leah is Aurora’s mom AND Silver’s mom.

But y’all that literally means our sweet 17 year old Silver is Aurora’s long lost brother that never had to experience a sister. He got a brotherly experience with Malleus and Sebek. What I’m more worried is one day someone does a DNA test(possibly Aurora’s children or descendants) and his name pops up. Or someone recognizes Silver’s face because of how similar it is to Aurora’s or Leah’s(I mean come on, we can usually tell when people are related that closely just by looking at them) Like I Can imagine it now. Also fair warning, this gets pretty sad.

🌹: *Aurora is impossibly old, hair gray* Older brother, is that you? You look just like mom said you did? I see the years have caught up to you with your hair.

🗡️: Umm? I’m not that old-

🌹: Momma used to tell me stories all about you once I woke up from that curse. HOO boy those times were wild. I wish you got to meet my father, but what’s done is done. Probably should catch back up with the princesses some time later. Anyway, we should meet up sometime and catch up on the years.

2. Do they have a prized possession? What is it?

Maxwell doesn't really have a prized possession... He's not someone who puts a lot of sentimental value to objects.

Cadbury's prized possession is his notebook he writes his ideas down, he'll never show it to anyone.

Any present she gets from her parents is prized for Lee, he loves her family and it reminds her of them.

For Thalia it's her dragon scale earings and dragon tooth necklace, it's from the dragon she took down by herself. A trophy. She proudly carries it.

Leah also doesn't really have an prized possession... They haven't gotten anything that'd make them feel that way.

!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

Damn we are eating a lot (Part 2):

During the battle, Baul is shooked on how Silver and Sebek are good at dealing with horses to which Sebek replies that they're part fo the equestrian club so it's a natural thing for them

Yuu and Grim were about to get attacked by an Iron Man but Lilia comes in to defend them. BUT THEN LILIA PROCEEDS TO SMACK SILVER AND SEBEK BEING ALL "This is why I hate children 😒" 😭😭😭

After the battle we reach the castle (which is the castle in the Sleeping Beauty movie) AND THEN WE SEE THE KNIGHT OF DAWN

Anyways going back to the topic, we also get Henric, who is pretty much going "Meleanor if you don't get out of that castle right now we'll invade the castle together with the Knight of Dawn" AND JESUS FUCK HIS SPRITE 💀

It turns out the Knight of Dawn doesn't want any part of this either, cuz Henric wants Meleanor's magic orb and dragon egg (aka Malleus) since they're really precious things

Idk what's up with this chapter and their thing for turning characters into orphans cuz the Knight of Dawn is also an orphan adopted by the king 🧍‍♀️, and Henric tells him that if he can steal the orb maybe it could save the king and Leah

We then see Meleanor, WHO IS A FUCKING BADDIE SO DAMN REAL TWST YKNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE YOUR WOMEN 😍😍😍

WE ALSO SEE EGG MALLEUS AWWWW

Meleanor tells them that she was planning to take a nap with the egg but useless people interrupted that, and she refers to the egg as Malleus already 🥹. Lilia is just confused and asks how is she sure that the egg is a boy, in which Meleanor replies that a mother is always sure and knows that Malleus will grow up to be beautiful like his father, Leverne

But then she sees Sebek and Silver and makes them get down on their knees (MAAM I'LL ALSO GET DOWN ON MY KNEES FOR YOU 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️), she then goes on about how humans are weak and stuff. Lilia tries to defend them but Baul tells us about Meleanor's hatred for humans and that we might as well stay quiet

But then Lilia loses his shit as well and tries to tell Meleanor about the danger that's just waiting outside but Meleanor refuses, saying that she wants to fight because she's a mother who wants to protect egg Malleus (I swear I can't this update is making me cry 😭). So she tells everyone to escape with the egg while she fights the Knight of Dawn and we get this scene of Lilia holding on to egg Malleus

Meleanor tells them to leave but Lilia refuses. So out of anger, she zaps him which causes everyone to panic cuz he has the egg and Silver tries to stop it but Meleanor gets even more mad that she zaps him too like jesus this woman and her anger issues. Silver tries to plead with them to stop fighting because people who love each other don't fight

Meleanor replies that even if she doesn't make it, Malleus is still there. But Lilia tells her that Malleus can't hatch without the true love of a parent. BUT THEN WE GET THIS REVEAL THAT LILIA PROPOSED TO MELEANOR 200 YEARS AGO AND HE ALSO LOVED LEVERNE LIKE LILIA MELEANOR LEVERNE POLY RELATIONSHIP IS FUCKING REAL. Meleanor reassures Lilia that he will find a way to love Malleus since he also loved her and Leverne 🥹

She then summons thorns that drags Lilia and the rest away from the castle, saying her final goodbye to both Lilia and Malleus (I'm crying rn guys). Lilia tries to find a way back in to save Meleanor but Baul yells at him to calm down cuz he was still holding egg Malleus, and that Meleanor trusted them to protect the egg

Meleanor makes her appearance to the Knight of Dawn and Silver Owls, which starts another battle....

Twst Spoilers!

Nitpick, but I think the writers missed an opportunity by having the “princess glow” be for the King and NOT Leah. Having the glow be for Leah would have upped the stakes for the Knight of the Dawn, added another parallel between him and Lilia—as both would be fighting for women they loved—and it added another angst point for Silver as he would never have been born if the Knight didn’t kill Malleus’ mother. On top of that, it would have added to the theme of Lilia’s dream that despite all the pain he went through it worth it to have the life he has now.

(Not to mention we could have had Rapunzel parallels on top of Aurora’s for Silver, but I digress.)

EDIT:

Bonus if Leah was pregnant when ill as the make it that both the Knight and Malleus' mother was fighting for their children's future. (Which would add a HUGE angst point for Silver that would mean Malleus lost his family because of him.)

A previous lover of Lilia and a thorn in Baul's side. The queen of the human kingdom who never supported her husband's decisions and fled to the forest whenever she could

Persona x Twst AU

or that one time Ell (@memoryoflife) and I accidentally predicted Book 7 chapter 5 Events

Let me start off with some background info on the Persona Series for those who don't know:

The Persona series has a similar premise to Twst. In the sense that a person can be corrupted, but the reasons vary. This corruption eventually takes over them and affects their personality. In the Persona franchise, a team can stop these corrupted individuals by accessing their "mind palace." Think, inner access to their mind/soul.

These palaces tend to be just that, a palace. It will consist of a maze like structure you have to solve to get to the final boss. Along the way, you battle enemies and you get glimpses of the person. The true person, and what eventually led them to become corrupted.

Once you reach the Final Boss, the enemy usually has multiple forms. Not only that, but the entire room reflects this form and can be used against the player.

The characters trying to stop the Final Boss try to reason with them and set them free.

As you can tell, this has similarities to twst. The characters in Twst OB, and majority of the time before they do, you can see them gradually change and become corrupted.

Now you're probably wondering how does this exactly fit into Book 7 Chapter 5?

Well it fits specifically for one character alone: Silver.

Chapter 5 focused majorly on Silver and his character development. As Ell and I talked about this AU, we had unintentionally, predicted some of chapter 5 events. (You can imagine our shock and how this affected our feels even more with the chapter release)

Silver's OB

Silver's OB idea was basically him OB while he's asleep. His dream realm was now a nightmare realm of blot and waste.

He couldn't die nor awaken.

Primarily, the idea was Silver OBing right after Malleus. So they would try to rescue him, all the while juggling with emotions and the aftermath of the previous OB.

As Lilia, Malleus, and Sebek try to rescue Silver; they feel even more guilt the further they go into his palace.

But they make way, because they will rescue Silver, no matter what.

Silver's Palace

For Silver's Palace, we focused on who would be in it and how his past would appear.

One floor would focus on Lilia, and how Lilia leaving him affected him. Another would be Sebek, repeating words about Silver not being good enough and how he has to make up for Lilia and Malleus raising him. Malleus’ floor would focus on Silver's ancestors being the reason why Malleus is alone, his parents dead. All of these inner insecurities Silver faces even without the blot, but now so much worse because of it.

The dream realm isn't a dream realm anymore. What was once a world full of pastel colors is now darkness and full of blot.

Dreams full of colors means happiness, but it's not happy anymore is it? It's just a nightmare, of his own making.

The only colors are those of the three Diasomnia members, desperately trying to save Silver.

There are several ideas for his palace, wether it could be a shapeless void or something with structure.

The shapeless void castle is interesting because of the potential for change in scenery.

The Diasomnia members walking into the Final Boss chamber, and at first they see a forrest, not just any forrest but the one Silver grew up in.

The area constantly flashes to a decaying scenery, a burned and black forrest.

Other scenery includes: the cottage Silver grew up in, the death of meleanor, Lilia leaving, etc.

If we went a more concrete castle, the idea was a amalgamation of various castles: Meleanor's, Diasomnia's, and Princess Leah's.

It would make it hard for the others to travel because the Castle’s maze is always changing.

Funny scenario: The three Diasomnia Members are taking a break (basically the save room in the Persona series). Malleus is restricted and can't op through the castle since he is still recovering from his OB

Lilia - "I didn't know he payed this close attention when I played games!'

Other Two - "Of course he did!"

Silver's Companion/Phantom

Silver's Phantom is a Horse or something similar to represent his emotions.

His phantom is always trailing after them.

It tends to keep to the shadows to 'protect' them.

With a horse phantom, you can hear it trotting in the shadows.

This phantom personifies Silver and all that he is. He will always love his family, so when one of the Diasomnia members were going to get attacked in the palace, the phantom stepped in.

Horses are the trusty stead of a knight after all. The horse can just bite the head off those that try to hurt the Diasomnia trio.

Afterwards, it runs away after the battles. But it is always there, they can see and hear it at the corner of their eyes.

Silver's case would be interesting because we can go a route where his phantom represents him, but unlike other OB phantom, his desires are disconnected from his blot.

In one of the stages of the final battle, Silver's phantom horse would even attack him. Because Silver keeps trying to hurt and drive away his family. Where once the phantom attacked the Diasomnia trio, it now protects them when the boss battle changes.

Silver's family has always been a priority to Silver and his horse reflects that. The horse wouldn't let Silver hurt them even though he's trying to get them to leave him alone. His phantom knows Silver better than he knows himself, because it is him in soul after all. (The horse could be that part of Silver that is left. The part of him that knows this whole situation is wrong. The glimmer of hope he has in himself that is constantly fighting against this blot and for his family).

Silver's Final Form/Boss Fight

There are multiple forms we talked about, all of which are very interesting.

One form included Silver being black and gray, but what shakes the Diasomnia members the most is his eyes. They are colorless and black. These eyes are nothing like what they know, no warmth or the fondness they are always blessed with. His hair looses that sheen. He looks like death.

Another idea we had was a blindfolded Silver, they can't see the eyes they have known for so long. He has been blind this entire time, to the pain that he has caused not only his father, but in extension the pain his family caused Malleus. What was the worth of these eyes? When they are blind? To the pain of others. While he dreamed of a fantasy.

Another darker idea was having Silver with gouged out eyes. His OB/Persona form could have remnants of blood on the floor and on his hands. Implying he had gouged them out himself. It would hurt more wouldn't it? To realize he had eyes before his OB, but after learning the truth about his past, everything Silver thought he knew changed.

And here's a favorite part of mine, a transformation of the boss forms. The possibility of Silver transforming in front of them. They see him change from what they knew to this new form. The horror of seeing him gouge his own eyes out and crying tears of blood,

His costume changes and he becomes that of what he hates. A twisted form of the Knight of Dawn costume because that's an ancestry he can't escape. One that he can't forgive himself for either and one that brings pain to him and others. So, essentially, he goes from this dark and gray form to this twisted form of light as we saw with the Knight of Dawn.

There would be Mini bosses as well, consisting of phantoms of the three that hurt Silver the most. One of them is General Lilia.

And because Silver's world has been recontexualized from knowing the truth, these phantoms spout cruel words that Silver believes is true and what he deserves.

A funny comedic part would be his animal friends being his helpers during the boss battle, but a twisted version of the birds and bears.

Funny instance: Sebek is fighting a bear and the birds are dropping bombs and stat drops. Lilia would mention how this stuff is more fun in games and not in irl and his son really did pay attention during their gaming sessions; only for Sebek and Malleus to shout "Not now!"

Some funny instances include shocking and freezing Lilia. Additionally, Malleus and Sebek would have sleep and confusion casted on them.

Another aspect of the second stage of battle would be how Silver notices how tired his family is. Even in this form, he loves them. "No, I would never hurt my family. This is wrong." Now, every time they get hit so does Silver. The battle changes, they have to be extra careful and dodge attacks now.

Saving Silver

So, how do they save Silver you ask?

The same way he has always saved them, with unconditional love.

Lilia - expressing how much he loves him, the same way Silver has always unconditionally expressed his love. How he knew he would always have someone home to return too.

Malleus - talking and bringing up memories and how he has always loved Silver as the little brother. How Silver brought him freedom from the loneliness of his own castle and a home to him.

Sebek - talks about how Silver always looked after him and never let him down even when they were kids and alone at the island. How Silver is his fellow Knight and no one can have that honor and he can always depend on him.

In the battle, Malleus can take down the giant form behind Silver in his dragon form. Saying how he will save Silver the same way Silver has done for him.

Sebek ends up restraining Silver while he's on his knees as he tries hard to get free, all the while, screaming, wailing that he doesn't deserve love and he needs to repent.

Lilia would walk towards his son. He would kiss him on the forehead and where Silver's eyes used to be, stating he deserves all the love in the world.

This is what breaks him.

He ends up crying, just like he did when he first went to Malleus. He falls into his father's arms as if he was a child again, seeking the warmth he has to offer.

The three diasomnia members can finally, finally return the love they had always received.

The Palace shatters.

And that's the gist of our Persona AU 💕💚, as you can tell, there was some uncanny and surprising parallels with our AU and what happened in canon. 😂💞🌺 But I think that’s what made the chapter so much more impactful. 💞🌻
