Finished Jest’s redesign!!! The sheer improvement in my art over the past couple of months is just unbelievable to me.
More information under the cut
Basic information:
•Jest Sans trains halfheartedly for the Royal Guard. It’s not something he wanted to do, but enjoys messing with Undyne. Besides that’s what his cool brother wants…
•Enjoys light-hearted pranks more than puns. He thinks they are the greater of the two. Funnily enough a good portion of his pranks backfire on himself.
•Struggles in the Shortcut department. Can teleport short distances quickly however (Tends to end with a face-full of snow).
•Although teleporting himself is quite hard, he is quite adept at teleporting objects around. He likes to use this ability to teleport googly eyes on Papyrus (like that one Papyrus face in Undertale)
•Favorite food is A1 sauce. He will drink it straight out the bottle.
•Not taken very seriously, he is just a jest after all…

Reading The Hobbit has a warm, cozy feeling to it, like sitting by a fireplace and downing a warm mug of hot chocolate. There are times when you want to cry, times when you want to laugh, times when you want to fight alongside Thorin’s Company. But at the end of the story, you realise that you will never experience that, because The Hobbit is fictional in reality, but so real in the heart and mind.
Reading The Lord of The Rings has a cool feeling, neither warm nor cold, but a comfortable one; it’s as if you’re sitting by a window, staring into the rain, and wishing you could go outside and relish in the rain but you can’t because it’s cold. There are times when you want to laugh, cry, dine with the Fellowship, fight with the Fellowship. But you can’t, because The Lord of The Rings is only a figment lodged in your heart, tucked away in a cozy spot.
Reading The Silmarillion has the feel of sitting in an enormous library almost abandoned, and fishing out an old, dusty book from a nook long forgotten, written about the history of the world. There are cases when you want to delve into that world and explore it, revel in it, fight it, love it, yell at the people in it. But you can never do that, because it is a history long past, existing only in the minds of very few.
Reading the old stories narrating the entire history of Arda has the feel of travelling back in time to the Library of Alexandria, reading and studying all the library can give. There are times when you want to cry, mourn, grieve, celebrate, laugh, revel in the world. But you can never, as that world, those people, are all part of your heart and mind, tucked away into the most precious part of you.
Reading the legendarium doesn’t make you want to be a part of that world because you love it. It makes you want to be a part of that world because the characters are normal people, like you, who got roped into an unlikely adventure, forever narrated in song, poems, ballads and laments.
They are simple stories, of simple people, in a simple world, where if you existed, you could have been one of those souls both fortunate and unfortunate.
Reading the legendarium makes you want to be part of it, because it makes you think you can survive it.
And certainly, if you have read this amazing mythological masterpiece, you absolutely can survive it.

RIP Timothy West (20.10.1934 - 12.11.2024)
"We met when we were cast with small parts in that really boring play, so had both brought the crossword to stop us going mad. We saw each other across the rehearsal room doing it, so decided to sit together. Then we couldn’t record because of the strike one day so we went to the cinema, Pru and I, to see The Grass is Greener with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The show was cancelled, but a bit later Pru sent me a card saying ‘they’re reviving that terrible play, are you in it?’ I wasn’t but we started writing to each other then."
"Humour is vital, and respect for what people do and what people think. Kindness is important, and we’ve always had the same humour, laughed at the same things, been interested in the same things, got cross about the same things. And been in the same business. We have often been away from each other work-wise and therefore we’re always very glad to see each other again."

Today in a bit of an unusual is one of Francisco Ruiz Velasco's Linkedin uploads... That just happened yesterday. Mostly as it's largely been baffling people. The current theory is this might have been during the Trollhunters film period if only because the scraggly cat in A has very similar proportions to goblins who were finalised in that production. Could be completely wrong of course, either way these little weirdos are neat!

Source. Will ask about an account.
Viva la cat oven.
#Trollhunters#Tales of Arcadia#Vis dev: Francisco Ruiz Velasco#He uploaded Proto-Deya the same day#These guys are being posted first because they're completely unexpected#Fun fact actually the five pieces of ToA artwork he's uploaded past few days has never been public before#Which is neat!#We got Arcane Order Band art today

How did we end up with an episode where only Nick chooses: June or Rose and not June: Nick or Luke? 😂
Like it was all up to him, as if she was always ready to be with him.

Only 3 things in life are certain: death, taxes, and a Fredrik Backman novel that explores on the rich and rewarding experience of teenage friendship ripping my heart into pieces.
#Seta Speaks#Obligatory I finished 'My Friends' post and Fred my dude you're gonna be paying my fucking therapy bills#What a beautiful tale with an unexpected but very rewarding catharsis#It's got everything-- adopted father-daughter tropes. Found family. Wildchild female characters who are kinda dumb#Gay train conductors. Mommy issues. And most importantly: Fish#Go read it tell them your friend Seta sent you#My Friends#Fredrik Backman

one of my big cultural gaps is disney but i started typing out a beauty and the beast inspired thing anyway thinking well maybe if i dont know the story in its most popular form at least i might come up with something a wee bit different from other people doing it and then mine has a plot device a somewhat inaccurate painting as the basis on an agreement to marry and only now did i think 'fuck i've made him anne of cleves'*
*i mean in a pop culture sense. i do tend to agree that the holbein painting can't be that inaccurate and she probably actually did look like that (hot!) and i feel i should disclaimer this in the post itself not the tags because if i don't someone will object won't they
#i have put the waifish willowy loki from thorki fics into a sylki fic and thus far i have zero regrets#sylvie has turned out to be not as beastly-looking as advertised but oh she's not happy about this feeble lad she's been stuck with >:(#there is a not-really-that-unexpected twist to this tale but i am not sure how to get it to be fucked up but somehow not 'unhappy ending'#and while i don't know disney i do know there's supposed to be talking furniture played by david ogden stiers? is that considered crucial?#(and i think the 'sylvie's spine has been replaced by ramen noodles' fic trend has made me lean way more into Mean Sylvie of late)#BUT MY POINT WAS ANNE OF CLEVES#(as the Beauty one obviously. thank u for the evidence of her hotness Painty Hans.)#don't worry i will probably never finish this fic anyway#because wtf
