Very interesting (concerning) that while there’s a general consensus of “of course there’s queer Muslims and Jews and Christians we love them!” But that love is conditional. You can be religious but not too religious. You can be spiritual as long as it’s not actually that important to you. You can be observant of your religion’s dogma and traditions as long as you keep it away from everybody else.
But I don’t want to cut myself into smaller pieces. I don’t want to take a part of my life and culture and being and hide it away behind closed doors. It’s just…hypocritical and disappointing when people, who clamor about their love for the contradictory and self-authentic, hate when they’re confronted with it.

i don’t usually care about this discourse i try to glaze over it but every so often it hits me just how much the mere existence of lesbians is debated and how much we’re trivialized in so many spaces by so many people and it makes me very upset

So I saw this post and I was like “haha nice, very good very funny.” And then I saw that OP actually linked the interview (which is so appreciated seriously tysm), so I went to read it. And it was just as charming and fun as I expected! My personal favorite bit was:
I love this. Obsessed. It is my dearest wish that this pattern will continue. Give Every Witcher Cast Member an Emotional Support Animal 2022.
HOWEVER......
I literally hate this question! It makes me want to fight God!
I’m just. I’m so tired, yall. It’s 2022, are we still STARTING conversations (particularly conversations with actors) by talking about their bodies? Especially in the past tense??? Are you fully aware that an actor is not a separate entity from their body? Have we not been having the whole ~body positivity~ conversation for like 2 decades at this point? Are there really people who haven’t heard ScarJo’s comments re:rabbit food on the Avengers press tour? Has no one been paying attention to ANYTHING Zac Efron has said in the last 3-4 years?
And the thing that killed me is that this interviewer only got to ask like 3.5 questions. Bro, you had to be so intentional and selective about what to ask and THAT is the most important/interesting thing you could come up with??
And like, I’m aware that I, personally, am probably much more sensitive to shit like this than Mr. Batey, himself. And that’s good! Healthy, even. And I swear, I do know that that dude is a grown-ass man who doesn’t need a random tumblr user to fight this one interviewer that was just doing their job. Particularly over a question that really didn’t seem to bug him lmao. But, it still makes me want to
💜✨commit arson✨💜
Just??? Stop making unsolicited comments about other people’s bodies??? It’s simply not that hard. Even if you’re just trying to flatter them, there are a million other ways to give someone a compliment, I swear to god!

I do understand that bands drink and do a lot of drugs but Waterparks is such a straight edge band wether or not they intended to be, so it feels offputting to have people actively drinking on stage when they paid to go to see a band that isn’t about that stuff (plus alcoholism is triggering to a lot of people, and seeing someone drink straight from a wine bottle can be jarring depending on their previous experiences)
i’m sorry anon but like in places like concerts substance use is just something you have to be wary of it’s just an environmental thing that’ll happen. like the most casual of drinking can happen and if you’re uncomfortable with it, i wouldn’t recommend being at concerts. also as for parx being a straightedge band: geoff and most of the crew aren’t; i don’t think you should hold them on that high of a pedestal when they don’t really have to
also they made awsten hold their beers for some reason in the green room recently

so apparently theres an interest check on twitter foe a kiamei zine going around, may i ask your thoughts on the matter?
personally i’m not interested, but my advice would be to check whether the person organizing it has run zines before/done research on running a zine, whether they’ve PARTICIPATED in a zine, and whether they have bullied people or dabbled in weird purity politics before
Former is red flags for your money. Latter is red flags for your sanity and may indicate an inclination to enforce one’s own ideology on others, and i’d never want to support that kinda person, especially after that twitter debacle with the Elden Ring zine the other day.
