Before we get started, please note that Creature Con is not a competition. There is no "winner" or "loser," but you can earn achievements! It'll be an online convention so that people can interact, share their stories, and make new friends!

Where and Who

Creature Con will be hosted on Discord! Both AU creators and guests are more than welcome to join.

What Counts As A Creature

For the purpose of this con, a creature counts as a character being a different thing, having something happening, or both! Here's a list:

Rules

While more rules will be available in the Discord once the server is open, here are some of the basics.

NO Tcest [This includes showing images/art with the intention of mocking it].

NO directed racism, ableism, transphobia, homophobia or sexism. If your AU contains these themes, they must be tagged and have the according TW/CW's.

Sensitive topics MUST be blocked out [In Discord, this means having || on either side of the word/sentence, which covers it] and tagged with TW/CW's.

NO Arguing, harassment, bullying, ect. If you have a problem with someone talk in private to sort things out, or contact a mod if they are causing issues.

NO heavy venting in the server.

NO spamming the server.

Want To Submit An AU?

When the forms are open, anyone is welcome to apply if their AU fits! As said above, it can be an AU from any generation. However, there are only 30 spots as to not overwhelm the mods with too many people!

SUBMISSION FORM

SUMISSIONS WILL BE OPEN FROM 6/19/2025 - 7/3/2025, WE WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY MORE SUBMISSIONS AFTER JULY 3RD AT 11:59PM UTC OR 6:59PM EST.

Once submissions are complete, there will be a break so everything can get set up and so invites can be sent out.

Some creators may be asked extra questions, here is where we'll ask if they are any extra TW/CW's forgotten when the form was filled out, along with things like custom achievements for the AU.

To make sure every AU has it's time to shine, there will be Spotlight Segments. During these, certain AU's from different categories will get focus put onto them. Think of it like a panel in an in person convention. This way, no AU gets overlooked!

xu am a part of a mixed - origin system, so these are only ideas xu have based off of xuer own experience being a part in it! they may not work for you, but hopefully they'll give you your own ideas!

this is a very generalized post. if you want tips for a specific -genic transition, send xie a request!

⠀ ⠀⠀to transition :

xu always like to say start small ! you dont need to rush your transition. xu know it hurts not being able to just be what you're supposed to be, but its more likely you'll give up on transitioning if you try to rush into it !

change your language — “ i went on a walk ” should become “ we went on a walk ”. it takes a conscious effort at first, but the more you ingrain it into your speech and typing style the more natural it becomes. always think about the fact that you are plural, that you're not alone—that in your body, theres more than one conscious. like xu said, it takes effort. its okay to fail, its okay to forget. just remind yourself as often as you can!

plan it out — write stuff down! it might seem stupid, but give it a try. you don't even need to decide on basic stuff, that can come naturally. get a notebook, and write down one word on each page. an object, an animal, an aesthetic, an emotion, a fashion style, or anything else. THAT is the beginning of an idea, of a person. you can expand based on what you want or whatever feels right, depending on the -genic you're transitioning to.

find a rhythm — this is easier said than done. whether you're going for a full transition or just looking for a way to relieve your dysphoria, this is a good way to do it! you don't need to be intense about it, use the notebooks or whatever equivalent you come up with. if one of the topics you wrote down was a fashion choice, go out and buy or make clothing of that type—or research its culture, and make a collage or playlist (see the next step). Anything that'll put you into a headspace for the other person you should be!

playlists — xu think they're actually really helpful for furthering how you should be. music can help you get into certain mindsets, and may even end up acting as front triggers for your parts! make them based on the information you wrote down, and play them while this part is fronting. make a few, play whichever feels right in the moment

first-person experience �� ask your system friends or people who've successfully transitioned! this is a part of any transitional journey; figuring out how to transition safely and in a way that makes you comfortable. go ask your friends for tips, or just ask them about their plural experiences.

some other things to keep in mind as you explore your plurality :

𖹭 set up pluralkit, tupperbox, simply plural, or any other bots or apps that support plural people!

𖹭 make things or buy things with your parts in mind. “ [part] would love this.. ”

𖹭 roleplay as your parts, either via apps and bots or irl!

𖹭 think like your parts. react & respond in your head, it'll eventually come naturally.

𖹭 bah blogs on tumblr can be extremely helpful when trying to help your parts form, no matter what -genic you are! give them a try! (xuer headmate owns a blog you're absolutely free to submit to, @prestigousbah)

𖹭 endogenic / willogenic spaces are great places to look for tips if you don't know any other plurals.

remember! you wont be plural right away. transitioning doesn't happen overnight. you also dont need to fit the ”plural mold.” you should focus on you and your parts comfort above fitting in.

anything else xu might recommend is -genic specific, which sadly defeats the point of something more generalized! if you're looking for other tips, submit something more specific!

Update on the discord server:

Everything is in order, and the server is ready to go! Unfortunately, I'm very busy for the next few days, so we won't be online much to handle moderation/verifying new users- the server will be opened Saturday-Sunday this week for that reason. I'll briefly go over the contents of the server below the cut for those who are interested.

The server has a quick verification process to ensure we don't get swarmed by bots or by those with bad intentions. It's mostly automated- you'll be dmed a few questions by a bot asking whether you've read the rules and whether you can respect other members of the server. It may take a bit to be manually verified by a moderator, unfortunately. This will grant you access to the common areas! The common areas do not have an age limitation, and have basic content restrictions in place (no sexual content, no heavier topics such as s/h, sa, etc). We have pluralkit and tupperbox- if you use something else, feel free to reach out and ask for it to be added!

There are three restricted areas that have additional rules & require a similar verification process! We have the daycare, which is a safe space for any littles- no adult content, swearing, etc. It is restricted for the safety of the littles. We have the minibar, which is a 16+ space for those who may be uncomfortable around younger members or prefer more lax rules around adult content. It is restricted for the safety of younger members and the comfort of those within. We also have the venting channels, which do not have restrictions on heavier topics that may be triggering or upsetting. They are restricted to ensure nobody is accidentally exposed to topics that may be unsafe for them, and for the safety of those who may be putting out vulnerable information within.

As of right now, we don't have any apps/games, but I would like to add some! If anybody has suggestions, we'd love to hear them. We're super excited to get this up and running!!

I really don't care what anyone says, things like SimplyPlural, Octocon, Pluralkit, and any other similar app/device for systems are accessibility tools.

There's this weird internalized ableism in the community (especially with non-physically disabled systems) who view these ways as being too much or "taking up space" in some aspects.

"Oh I can't have all my friends download this just to know who's fronting," if it helps you then it shouldn't be a problem for your friends. "I have other methods to track switches," well if this is the easiest way for you to do that then that's okay. "DID/OSDD doesn't need accomodations like other mental illnesses/disabilities," but it does and if meeting those accommodations helps you function better, then it's an accessibility tool.

For some people I understand it's not much of an accessibility tool, sometimes when it conflicts with other disabilities. I saw once someone say that the way Pluralkit and Tupperbox work on Discord causes a sort of flashing problem with how it replaces messages, and this can be a lot in large servers with multiple people using it. I get that and similar complaints. Something should either be done to fix it or (unfortunately) have one of two groups suffer from the use or loss of it.

Downloading a small app to know who is fronting, however, is not a big ask for friends or staff whose job is to care for you. I have all my trusted friends download SimplyPlural. It wasn't that hard to set up so they can get notifications of us switching. I did this because to us it is an accessibility tool. We cannot function properly without it.

Our switches can be erratic and very fluid, and it makes day to day living hard. With these apps, we can not only track who is fronting, but also it literally makes us feel better. I feel like a blurry mess without it, headaches galore, unable to untangle thoughts and feelings the longer I go without it. When we use it, our communication is literally better with it. We can track events and things better in our lives with it. It makes living in a world not made for us easier to handle.

It's also important to our identities. Snails is not ghost, ghost is not Rocky, and we will not be treated as the same person simply for living in the same body. It's upsetting and makes us feel like we purposely have to hide parts of ourselves, resorting back to masking around our own peers. We hate that.

If it doesn't work for you, if it's too much and complicated for your own use, if it conflicts with other disabilities or issues you face, that's fine to not call it an accessibility tool for yourself.

But these are my accessibility tools just as much as our crutches or other mobility aids are. This world was not made for systems, and there is no time soon of that changing. There are other ways of doing this without an app or online tool, I understand, and I have implemented that too. But this is what works easiest for me, and if I don't have that accessibility then it is literally harder for us to live our own lives.
