I actually love how ugly Merlin's outfit is in Merlin. BEFORE YOU YELL AT ME - I love his outfit, I think it's fun, but when you look at every other character, even other peasants, he literally is wearing ill fitting rags. Everything is too big on him (despite being like six foot but whatever) and his silhouette reeks of boring character design.

But like!! Yeah!! He is just Some Guy. I love how they never give him som epic mage robes or a cool outfit for more than thirty seconds. He is unassuming. He's over here, commanding dragons and controlling the weather in the medieval equivalent of stained sweatpants and a night shirt. It's great.

"in what world/context would leonardo ninja turtle ever meet javier asrahan" genuinely? i could not tell you. portal shenanigans or something on leo's end i guess... he does get lost for quite a while according to the farewell comic, maybe this is one of the places he ends up. somehow...

javier has no idea what or who this turtle-creature-person is, but he can speak and seems friendly so it's probably fine. javier also has no clue what the heck a "phone" is, how to "take a selfie", or how to "skateboard", but the person - who claims to be named "neon leon" - seems to be very genuinely happy to be showing javier these things so playing along can't hurt, right?

"do you have pizza here? does fantasy europe know about pizza? what about pineapples?" the turtle muses, swiping away at that "phone" of his. javier is reminded of the many times lloyd would throw strange, new terms into their conversations. distantly, fondly, he wonders if it'd be worth asking the noble about all these new things he's learned from leon today.

(later, lloyd is finishing up a blueprint at his desk when his knight approaches, lost in thought, and asks,

"sir, do you know how to make a 'pizza'?"

"... javier. where the hell did you learn that."

"a turtle mentioned it. he visited the estate today."

Yelan. Yelan, Madame Yelan, what on earth is this outfit. Granted, please don't get me wrong, I loved and was enthralled when I first caught a glimpse of her (also any glimpse of Yelan thrills me) in it, but geez. And yet, they're so consistent with her design;

— The single-sleeved jacket is a brilliant little nod to her mantle but making it something utterly hers within something that is an AU. No mystical beasts or Tsaritsa here! — The straps near her neck are a very different, but quite nice, summer-like rendition to Hoyo's consistent choice for Yelan of a halter/high neck (even the Pizza Hut ad had her in a turtleneck). A lower neckline is something that they actively seem to avoid for her so far. — The amount of see-through fabric is simply a call-back to her default outfit, but rather than spots of it left and right, it's her full-midriff and leg. It fits, it's nothing new. And if anything, funnily enough, I'd seen numerous artworks pop up of Yelan in swimming attire, and all of the designs felt a little off. I don't actually envision her in a bikini like many draw her, but instead, something like what you see here from her neck, to the midriff to the hips. Much more fitting in my opinion, actually, so I like seeing that concept in an outfit in circumstances where you'd expect a lot of summer influence. — And a detail that makes me laugh: the hand that has the white glove in her canonical outfit is also white here, and same with the black one. Also, the bracelet. God, I love consistency even if it seems trivial. But nothing's ever trivial to me guys, you know this.

All in all, thirst trap, sure, but also, good decisions were made.

#[ mini study. ] that which hides inside her… that constant calling; it is the blood of heroes which has been howling for 500 years.#[ i can't believe i'm tagging this with mini study but it is! ]#[ also can i talk for two seconds about how mUCH I LOVE HER HAIR? ]#[ and also point out this thing of-- i think she's arguably one of the female characters that oozes this enthralling femininity. ]#[ but she has short hair; she's one of the very few across the board that has actually short hair. not tied back or cheating in any way. ]#[ but actual short hair. and out of the tall female model users-- i think she may be the only one? ]#[ and yet she /oozes/ something so different. i think they did a wonderful job. ]#[ i just point this out because while i personally definitely don't think long hair automatically makes a woman more feminine-- ]#[ i know it's still a common societal assumption/opinion. and yet here she is. and despite one stupid twitter post... ]#[ i never see her referenced as a tomboy. if anything; she's described as being the exact opposite. ]#[ i just think it's perfectly chosen. it's a magnificent longer bob. i love the angled bangs all the way across. ]#[ i love that one larger strand swept straight across that adds texture. I LOVE THE BRAID. I /LOVE THE BRAIN SO MUCH/. ]#[ i love the color. i just love everything about this woman's design. and i also love how she does not look like she's from liyue at all. ]#[ if we look at colour schemes. but she is. we know she is. yes yes i know; /most/ designs are because of their elements. i know. ]#[ but still. ]#[ granted-- i'll even counter that take with one of my own: 'night orchid'. :) ]#[ okay okay i'M DONE SIMPING over one yelan. ]#[ i guess. ]#[ let's see if i can get some writing done. it's high time. ]

okay i love that you made a haurchefant lives au where he survives the unsurvivable unhealable attack. genuinely i love to see it, i love him and miss him and think the "if he lived it would ruin the timeline" thing is stupid as hell. (like, narratively i had made peace with his death, that part is as okay as it can be to me, but then they come up with this cop out "no fun allowed, he Has to die" bullshit come ON thats stupid AND defeats the true tragedy of his death shut UP.)

anyways, thats beside the point, my real question is why is he never disabled though (an obvious question with an obvious answer, but so many people do not even bother asking lmao). like. in these aus i see him either miraculously fully healed or with a bitchin scar. and that scar is oftentimes huge and RIGHT over his spine??? hello. why is he never disabled. why does that seem like a fate as bad as or worse than death to so many of you.

#anyways wheelchair user haurchefant means everything to me #him struggling with Becoming Disabled (cause its a different experience when its through an injury yknow)#but coming out the other end of that struggle in such a decidedly Haurchefant way #him being a core element in establishing a PT service in ishgard #him giving feedback to the skysteel manufactory about the wheelchair(s. plural) they build him to improve the design #him getting even more jacked arma because goddamn ishgard may have a lot of ramps but they are WAY too steep-#-no wonder so many disabled people live on the lowest levels in the brume they have no choice!#him championing construction efforts for lifts and gentler slopes #also you cannot tell me he would not invent wheelchair jousting #the man may have to sit the rest of his life but he certainly isnt sitting still #also crucially he is just as down bad as ever before we do not santize or infantilize disabled people in my house!!!#ky speaks #also if you make him ambulatory my friend bee said edmont would Definitely gift him a matching cane and i *sobs* OTL #thats if though. i like both non-ambulatory and ambulatory wheelchair user haurch

As upsetting as it was for me to learn that Cid and Vincent aren't party members in rebirth, and not even guests like Red was, I'm actually pretty glad about it now. I'm 63% of the way through the game and still have to leave the Gongaga Region, do Cosmo Canyon, and then get to Nibelheim and make it to the room Vincent is in in the mansion before he even so much as exists basically. That actually does leave very little of the game left to even use him if he were a full party member, let alone Cid who should be joining a whole region later. I think I would be much happier to have them for what could be considered longer at the start of part 3 rather than getting them two-thirds into rebirth and not having much time to enjoy them to their fullest. Plus it means even more time to let Square cook with Vincent's transformations.
