Okay, so people wanted clarification on the art swap thing, so here's a quick list of "guidelines."

Welcome to the Sonic Fankid Swapmeet everyone!

I have no clue how long this thing is gonna last, but hey its a fun challenge so who cares.

1. Choose an artist to attack. It's preferred that they were part of the Showdown beforehand, as people unaware of the event might get confused. Doesn't mean you aren't allowed to, but please be weary. Spectators of the Showdown can attack their favorite participants if they'd like, however.

2. Characters drawn for these attacks should be fankid ocs. Preferably the ones used in the polls, but if the artist has other fankids, they are also fair game.

3. If you are attacked, it is expected you attack back, if only out of respect of the other artist's effort.

4. If you have attacked or been attacked previously, this doesn't prevent you from attacking other people as well. If you've got a ton of artists you want to support, send em attacks! There's no limit on attacks until the event kinda just dies off. After that point it'd be kinda weird to carry on. Unless you like drawing things for people. That's pretty cool of you.

5. Pin all associated posts with #Sonic Fankid Swapmeet and tag @sapphanimates

6. Do not reblog or tag new oc references with the swapmeet tag.

Throughout their first confrontation I slowly had the boys get closer and closer together as they spoke.

I converted, cleaned up and retextured this pistol for this arc and I have used it incessantly since as my main spy pistol. I wanted a vintage WW2 pistol similar to the one Lupin the Third uses.

Leanne jumpscare that scared the pants off me in real life taking these pictures. She had an action queued up to talk to Chad so whenever he wasn't in the middle of an action she'd get steadily closer like a FNAF animatronic

CASINO HEIST

I had to handpaint every shot this ring appears in at the beginning cause the accessory I had in was sooooo thin and shitty (before and after ^)

Chad mentions Poppy needs to stop telegraphing her moves so clearly after they have a conversation about UNIT always getting the leg up on them.

I liked this final shot as a transition into the main story as well as a way to highlight the principal cast for the arc! (Also like, so many hand placed pins. AND Chad and Poppy's sexy calendar (which should be set to feburary but the feb swatch has her mother on it sakjdkajd))

Shots with both sets of characters in them my beloved. ( I never ended up using that last one tho rip )

When Poppy mentions she has some errands to run you can see the UNIT building in the background of the shot.

Val mentions thinking he's losing his mind because he swore he smelled Chad's cologne the day before the party- because they were in the same elevator minutes apart!

Not only is the Starlight drop dead gorgeous and a whole chunk of @doctorsimcraft's soul, I also made a custom animated sign, portraits, ceiling lightbulbs and room numbers for it.

Oh god I ran out of picture space. I'll probably do a part 2 then ahh- theres still some fun stuff. SEE I TOLD YOU I WASN'T GONNA BE NORMAL ABOUT IT

Hi hello I am, once again, posting abt why Staticmoth makes me uncomfortable because I have a lot of thoughts about it that I just need to get out.

What makes toxic cesspool ships fun, for me at least, is that both characters are equally bad to eachother. Not that they're equally bad to the people AROUND them, that's a different dynamic, but to EACHOTHER. It makes you go "phew thank god they're dating eachother and literally not anybody else". It's SCP containment.

Staticmoth, as presented in episode 2, isn't like that. Like YES, Vox IS just as bad as Val in the sense that he enables Val's treatment of other people and does his own weird shitty billionaire stuff, but everything, and I mean EVERYTHING Vox does to Val SPECIFICALLY that could be considered a red flag in that episode is in response to, or immediately followed up by, Val doing something significantly worse to him. Vox grabs him and screams in his face? Val had already screamed in his face MULTIPLE times, threw a drink at him, and broke his phone. Vox lowkey manipulates Val into not going to shoot up the hotel? Val then proceeds to manipulate Vox into making a public fool out of himself for shits and giggles. That isn't. That isn't fun to watch. Having something that pisses you off leveraged against you to make you look like a fool isn't fun.

Idk, seeing people claim Vox is equally shit to Val just... really rubs me the wrong way. It feels disingenuous at best and victim-blamey at worst. I don't feel like talking about actual domestic abuse right now because A; we HAVEN'T SEEN ENOUGH OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO MAKE ANY HARD JUDGEMENTS ON IT and B; I don't. I don't want to bring serious topics into my shipping takes. Not right now. I just. I don't. HOWEVER, I would like to recommend Princess Weekes' video on mutual abuse, because it's a really good breakdown of how toxic relationships work and gets into the real world stuff that makes Staticmoth iffy to me better than I ever could in a poorly worded Tumblr post I'm writing while sleep deprived.

Oh also disclaimer: this is in no way me telling people to stop shipping Staticmoth. Like I've said before, we haven't seen enough of their relationship to pin down their exact canon dynamic, and until then you can literally do whatever the fuck you want with them lmao. This was just me talking about red flags I've noticed and why I don't feel comfortable shipping them. It's also literally not my place to say what you can and cannot do. Blah blah blah free speech etc if I see content I don't like it's my responsibility to block and move on. Also it would be kinda hypocritical of me because I am a dirty dirty Polyvees stan smh

SECTION 1. Writing.

I want to write with everyone! Although I prefer multi-para replies, I enjoy having a variety of threads from one-liners and icons to brief responses and long-form text. I am flexible and reciprocate the energy given to me by my writing partner. I enjoy both serious threads and crack. I only ask that you don’t godmod or dictate how my character acts/feels.

Ask memes are always a good way to break the ice, but I am also open to plotting. That can be done via Tumblr IMs or Discord. Your preference, really. Response speed may vary depending on multiple factors, but please note I don’t intend to ghost anyone. I am an adult with a demanding full-time job and a part-time job so it can be a bit hectic on my end. 

In terms of response speed, I may favor my mains or people I’ve interacted with OOC first, as well as plotted threads. These are usually easier for me since I have an idea of how to approach the writing.

 SECTION 2. Selectivity.

Although I say I am semi-selective, I tend to follow back most blogs. That said, there are exceptions. For example, one case I might not follow back is if I observe poor dash hygiene. I don’t really want a super clogged dashboard so I tend not to follow people who have a greater ratio of OOC posts compared to IC. Other things I like are cut posts and new threads for asks. The last two are not dealbreakers, though, but I consider this good dash hygiene.

I am crossover-friendly and OC-friendly. However, I likely won’t follow back unless you have a JJK-specific verse or some sort of bio for your muse. I dislike having to fish for information. I am a bit more hesitant to follow back in these cases, but I can overlook that if I see potential for interaction. 

SECTION 3. IC Dynamics.

I enjoy exploring different dynamics with different characters. Shipping can be romantic, friendly, filial, etc. I love writing with various muses.

That said, I am highly selective about romantic shipping. It will be done on a case-by-case basis. I will only really write shippy content if there is chemistry between the muses (our portrayals) and prior conversations between us OOC discussing the dynamic. All interactions with muses within my muse’s age range are platonic unless stated otherwise. I will never off-the-bat assume there is romance involved between muses unless we have explicitly had a conversation about it. Although I am 25, there will be absolutely no smut. 

In a similar vein, what is said in a thread with another person’s muse does not apply to the canon of our threads unless you have made your muses’ canon clear (i.e. your rules/about cite this connection, you have stated something OOC, etc). If I follow you, assume I have read your rules and bio.

 SECTION 4. OOC Conduct.

All I ask for is kindness and understanding. Always assume the best intentions from others and never yuck anyone’s yum. I work a stressful job and I am here for entertainment. Please don’t bring negativity and other exhausting energy into this space. If there is ever a time I do something that bothers you, please bring it to my attention directly. Also, bear in mind that I am not my character and would prefer to keep a clear distinction between what is IC and what is OOC.

This should go without saying, but if you reuse a plot we crafted together or copy anything I, or anyone else, has done, you may get blocked if it is brought to my attention. It really depends on the severity, or if it is a repeat offense.

 SECTION 5. DNI/Vague Posts.

Don’t come here with bullshit. Don’t follow me if you do a lot of vague posting. If I see it enough times, I will block. We are adults. If you want to say something without the repercussions of saying it, then do it in private or keep it to yourself. If it is that serious, then go talk to that person directly. Communicate like a mature adult.

If there is someone I interact with who is actually problematic or has actually engaged in problematic behavior, dm me in private.

Joker Out Poland Tour: Fan Initiatives

Hey boos, for non-Poles (including me!) attending JO's upcoming Polish tour who may not be aware, the Polish JO fan organisation @jokeroutpolska (on IG) has planned fan initiatives for each of the upcoming concerts. Since they've only posted the information in Polish (see their pinned posts on IG), here it is in English:

Warsaw - Day 1 (Nov 14)

The organisers will be coming around with a Polish flag for attendees to sign in the queue. This will continue on Nov 15 too if they don't get enough signatures on Nov 14.

Umazane Misli: The organisers are going to distribute pink, purple, blue paper to place over your phone lights for this song. :)

After Party: @jokeroutpolska is organising an official after party at Klub Voodoo (down the street at Aleja Prymasa Tysiąclecia 48A) starting at 22:30, tickets are 20zł (~4.50€) in advance or 25zł (~5.60€) at the door.

Warsaw - Day 2 (Nov 15)

Wrocław (Nov 19)

Sunny Side of Wrocław: The organisers would like people to bring silly sunglasses for Sunny Side of London, ideally with some kind of modification (Wrocław-themed if possible) like glitter, beads, etc.

Novi Val: The organisers would like to do something similar to the Stožice fan initiative where people bring heart signs that say "Dziękujemy" ("[we] thank you" in Polish). Unsure if they're supplying these signs or expect people to bring their own.

Lila DuskOmen (she/her): Necromancer that also dabbles in theurgy, Valerian's close friend. Wizard City-born, lives in Marleybone post-grad. 25. Fashion designer of various gothic/EGL style robes. The silly that balances out Valerian's seriousness.

Council Agent Lakewood (he/him): Valerian's mentor and boss (and sometimes could be seen as a handler). Diviner from Khrysalis. Mid to late 40s. Doubles as a Shadowmancy teacher in Ravenwood for attack- and defense-based schools, to pick out certain students to train for the Luminescent Army's Shrike Program (LASP). Not to be trusted.

Council Agent Reese (he/him): Lakewood's coworker and close ally. Late 30s/early 40s. Conjurer. Taciturn notetaker that has his own agenda. No true alliances, but assists Lakewood in the LASP.

Luminescent Army: Council of Light's paramilitary force. After the events of Khrysalis and furthered by the events of Empyrea Pt 2, Ambrose decided to assemble graduates of Ravenwood to defend the realms associated with the CoL, although there are some corrupt personal interests and sneaky, unethical utilizations of Shadow Shrikes and Sentinels going on behind the scenes...

omg i can't share my actual favorite because #spoilers

F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

okay this moment definitely makes my top three for several reasons, 1. because i love a good dance scene 2. because ginny can't help but open up to harry about something that she has previously been in denial about for months. 3. because harry is so damn in love with her we can see it and hear it and feel it even though we are still firmly in ginny's head and 4. because it spurred the moment where we (the readers) finally start to understand why ginny didn't push it post-war and make harry tell her where they stood. i saw this moment as a turning point in the fic where previously harry had sort of taken the brunt and the blame for them not getting back together but now we realize "wait, maybe ginny has some reasons too"

Harry’s hand tightened on hers for a moment, and Ginny looked up to see the ghost of a smile still playing at his lips. “Why don’t you want to talk about it?”  Her face fell and she let out a shaky breath.  “Because it’s going to be a disaster,” Ginny murmured at his shoulder before she could stop herself, and then once she started she couldn’t stop. “Because I’m going to get booed, or benched, or fired. Because it’s all some big cruel joke-” “Why do you think it’s a joke?” “I’m the joke,” Ginny shook her head, and spat the words that had been plaguing her for months. “Because I’m mediocre.” The declaration hung in the air between them, diffusing into a silence only interrupted by the soft crooning of the band. She let out another quivering sigh and finally mustered the courage to look up at him.  Harry was watching her with a peculiar expression, and he didn’t speak until he knew he had her full attention. “You’re not.” Ginny scoffed, it was the only thing she could do besides cry, and she was not going to cry.  “But I’m not great,” she explained, giving voice to the resignation pounding through her chest. “I want to be the best, or nothing. She tried to pull in a breath, but it was a shallow, pointless thing.  Because while she fancied herself courageous, Ginny wasn’t without fear, and in that moment, nothing was more terrifying than the way Harry looked at her.  It was the way he used to look at her, at the version of Ginny who no longer existed.

URL is pronounced "Heaven Cunt" and was stolen from a license plate I saw in Phoenix in like 2018. Probably meant to be read as "Heaven Sent" but well. I don't think the Cali DMV would've bought that, which is proof Arizona is the cooler state.

I used to take Benadryl for Fun Purposes. I miss my old blog, it had a lot of Benadryl Posting on it. I liked blogging like that because when I typed the letters would look like Korean and Cyrillic had wretched babies.

Touch Starved - Operation Valkyrie (Part 4)

I'm so sorry for the long pause in posting, I've experienced two deaths in the last few weeks and felt really low. Finally got back my motivation to post, as I have plenty of writing to share. This is dedicated to those two people who passed away in my life, for supporting my passions and interests.

Valkyrie awoke and lifted her head, only to experience an intense throbbing from behind her temples. A groan escaped her, and she rolled over and slipped off the bed, rolling over onto her stomach to press her aching forehead to the cool floor. She hissed at the sudden sensation of the cold surface, but quickly released a sigh of relief as the pang of the headache began to ease. She took slow, deep breaths through her nose. The creak of the cell door startled her, but she didn’t respond, even as she heard footsteps clomp ever closer to her. When gloved hands grasped her biceps and tried to lift her to her feet, she finally reacted, crying out in protest and attempting to wrench her arms away.

“Stop!” She whimpered.

The guards didn’t answer her. They pulled her out of the room, dragging her down the now-familiar, winding white halls. She didn’t stop thrashing as they brought her in front of a room labelled with a panel on the door as ‘Experimentation Laboratory 23’.

The guards punched in a series of numbers onto the keypad and the door swung open. Inside the room, a series of cabinets and shelves lined the walls, the counters and other surfaces were covered in vials and instruments. In the centre of the room sat a familiar metal table with a lamp overhead. Several doctors stood around the table, with Doctor Clarke in their midst. The bright whites of their doctors’ coats and the stark cleanliness of the room were piercing to Valkyrie’s eyes and made her head ache more intensely. The guards, not caring for her sensitivity to the environment, marched her to the table and pinned her down so that Doctor Clarke could press the button on the remote which triggered the magnetism in Valkyrie’s handcuffs and ankle cuffs, and once she was remotely attached to the table and immobile, the guards stepped back.

Doctor Clarke smirked as she observed Val’s stiff position and irritated expression. “You can’t fight us. You can’t stop us, no matter what you do. But I won’t give you a lecture - you’ll learn for yourself soon enough.”

Valkyrie gritted her teeth in anger. “You can’t just do this to me! I’m a human BEING!” She roared, as tears began to spill down her cheeks. “Please, I.. please, just let me go!” Her voice had dropped to a pathetic whimper with this final sentence.

“I can’t do that.” Doctor Clarke said, her features void of pity.

A white-clad doctor passed Doctor Clarke a pair of nitrile gloves. She slipped them on and accepted a syringe and a small vial, which she used to draw a quantity of the contents of the vial into the syringe.

“What is that?” Valkyrie asked in a tiny voice, straining her neck against the restraints in order to see better.

A gloved hand clamped her neck, pressed it back down onto the table and tightened the strap around her neck. Val let out a frightened growl, like that of a wounded animal.

Another pair of gloved hands tied a rubber tourniquet tightly around her upper arm, and fingers prodded the skin, making the veins more prominent. A small alcohol swab was wiped across her pale skin. Valkyrie watched, wide-eyed as Doctor Clarke put down the vial and lined the syringe up with a vein in Valkyrie’s arm, then slid the needle into it and pressed down on the plunger.

“There.” Doctor Clarke murmured as she withdrew the syringe and wiped up the trickle of blood that had pooled in the crook of Valkyrie’s elbow. “Prepare the equipment, and then we can begin the observational period.”

The doctors standing above her began equipping her with a heart monitor, pulse oximeter and blood pressure cuff. Then one of them pushed a metal tray closer to the table, from which he picked up several tubes in his gloved hands. He passed them to Doctor Clarke.

Valkyrie paled. What are those for?

She soon found out.

Doctor Clarke began attaching the tubes to the device in Valkyrie’s neck. Each one seemed to connect at a different spot to the object, and from there each one was connected to a different lumen, as Doctor Clarke called them. Valkyrie’s body was tense as she watched the tubes being attached to different IV bags.

Doctor Clarke removed her gloves and straightened up. “Of course, we have noted how averse to being touched you have been. With some time, this serum should make you crave any touch. Perfectly useful for pets who have been resistant to owners who wish to receive affection. You’re going to be monitored by cameras,” she pointed up to a small camera in the corner of the room, ��and at regular intervals, someone will be sent in to touch you and observe your reaction.”

Doctor Clarke turned on her heel and left the room, followed by the group of white coats, and the door shut behind them. Valkyrie looked around the room, assessing her present situation. She was alone, but observed, and still restrained to the table. There were sharp metal tools, but they were out of reach. She knew it was no use, but she tried struggling against her bonds anyway. She soon got tired of that and instead turned her attention to rattling the table, It was sturdy, but maybe she could somehow dislodge the restraints that way. When that proved to be useless, she resorted to staring angrily at the door, as if that would somehow magically make it open and get her to safety.

Spoiler alert. It did not.

She didn’t struggle anymore. She knew by now it was useless, and she finally accepted that. Besides, she was so, so exhausted from fighting them. Perhaps this was all just a bad dream. She would wake up, she just had to fall asleep here in order to do so. She let her limbs go limp and took a few deep breaths, listening to her heart beat slower and slower on the heart monitor. She felt herself slipping away, felt the loss of her home and her friends and her freedom and her LIFE crashing over her in a massive wave of hopeless and then, there was silent. She felt cold. She just wanted someone to be friendly. She sank against the restraints and fell still. She was staring up at the ceiling in silence when she heard someone returning to the room. Her head slowly lolled to the side and she gazed over at the doorway. It was a tall figure with dark brown hair, deeply wrinkled skin, small, wire-framed glasses and a white lab coat with a pen in the pocket. She knew this man- he was one of the doctors that had been beside Doctor Clarke earlier. Valkyrie didn’t protest as the scientist stepped closer to her on the table. The man raised his hand, and slowly placed it on her shoulder. She flinched, but didn’t protest when she realised he was only touching her to gauge her response, and not to hurt her. Her reaction suprised even herself, deep down. She wasn’t entirely sure why her body and heart weren’t reacting the way her heart knew she wanted them to. She didn’t move as he lifted his hand away, either. She couldn’t seem to find it in her to fight being touched any longer. He left her in silence. Val felt there was something inside of her that was missing the minute the scientist left the room, and she wasn’t quite sure why. She was left to stare at the cieling once more until sometime later, when she received her next guest. This time, Doctor Clarke was the one who stepped through the door into the room.

“Hello, 0492. How are you feeling?” She asked.

Valkyrie found her mouth opening to reply before she could stop herself. “A little.. Out of sorts, I guess.”

Doctor Clarke pursed her lips. “Hmm, that’s an expected effect of the serum.”

She bent down over Valkyrie, and gently placed a hand in her hair. Deep down, Valkyrie knew she did not want the touch, but she couldn’t bring herself to fight it. The longer the doctor kept her hand there, the more Valkyrie found she enjoyed it, and the more that resistant voice in her head grew quiet.

“How does that feel?” Clarke inquired.

“Nice.” Valkyrie whispered.

Immediately, Doctor Clarke withdrew her hand. Valkyrie whimpered softly. The Doctor brought her hand back, and once again withdrew it quickly. Valkyrie found herself craving the touch immensely. Doctor Clarke brought her hand back once more, and slowly carded it through Valkyrie’s hair. Valkyrie sighed softly, and relaxed into the touch. Carefully and slowly, Clarke removed the restraints off of Valkyrie, and wrapped her arms around the subject, holding her in place with her embrace. Tears began to trickle from the corners of Valkyrie’s eyes. She found herself torn in two, and the half that wanted freedom was quickly losing control. It made her frightened, and confused at the same time.

“Shh, sh..” Doctor Clarke murmured.

She began to grip tighter and tighter, and tears flowed freely from Valkyrie’s eyes. Valkyrie knew in that instant, she could fight all she wanted, and nothing she did would make a difference. And from then on, everything was different.

Watched ep 3 of season 2 of the night post and I have one thing to say

Somehow this greatly pleases my brain and even if it will change next episode it has brought me great joy this episode. The idea of her riding on the night under the great starry sky. Voyaging around the wild outskirts and meeting the odd residents of the skelter at every turn. It is a lovely image is it not?

And Clementine might be a seer of some kind as well which kinda fits ngl.

I now finally know who the cow-person is who is pinned on the night post blog and I love them with all my heart.

Also Clementine’s priorities in this entire episode are hilarious. She acknowledges several times that the situation might be dangerous and she knows that she is facing a being that is part of the skelter. Yet she too is a part of the skelter and also so concerned about her job that she genuinely cares more about getting her route done right than the possibility of mortal peril😂😂😂

I feel like Wil (is that her name??) may turn out to be trouble or may get into trouble or their relationship may just peter out. Val certainly seems to have seen her and just immediately chosen violence. And the trio are so wildly codependent that that’ll def be a major factor.

In conclusion this ep has very much pleased the gremlins that live in my brain and was a lovely way to end a long day of travel whilst strolling through the fields at sunset. I had the biggest smile on my face all the way through :))
