Poke bowls are one of the few bowl types that Remus will agree to for dinner without too much convincing, and thus are a great dinner option for us, though I believe this is the first appearance of any kind of poke bowl on the blog.
I essentially made 3/4 of the bowl part to divide between Remus and me, and about 1/3 of the beets for myself (Remus chose instead to have raw tuna on his). In lieu of the spicy mayo, I opted for a half batch of our favorite shrimp sauce, ever the winner in these kinds of situations.
My beets were already precooked, so I was able to skip that step and move straight on to cooking the rice.
Other than that, I really don’t have many notes here. This was a super simple, super classic, and yet also delicious recipe. I love how well the beets swap in for the more traditional tuna, and this is definitely one you can easily customize to your taste. A true poke bowl staple, if you will.

VEGAN LUNCH BOWL a base di miglio, fagioli red kidney, zucchine e cavolini di brussels.🌱
Preparazione:🍽
Ho cotto 70 gr di miglio in pentola per circa 40 minuti. Intanto, ho cotto in una padella una zucchina romana con rosmarino, maggiorana e origano. 🍳

My beloved @faetxlity has done some incredible (adulting) things and I promised a reward. They requested some Karlach and Astarion cuddling which I was over the moon to provide. I hope you enjoy it, beloved friend.
Hot, Cross Bums
The annoying thing, according to Astarion, about Waterdeep was the fact that it had seasons. Proper seasons of hot summers and cold winters. The warm summers were a wonder, there was nothing better than lying on the sun warmed stone benches after dusk and bask in the ambiance of the surroundings. If someone ever tried to capture the essence of happiness, Astarion on summer nights was it.
Alas, good things almost always had an equal and opposite bad. In this instance, it was winter and the cold it brought. Sure, the nights were longer so Astarion could be out and about more if he so wished, but to leave the warmth of Gale's tower was to faze the biting cold. Wrapping up wasn't an option, not for Astarion at least. While Gale was basically his own heat generator and could trap the warmth with the layers, Astarion had no such luxury. The best he could do was boil a couple of eggs and pop them in his pockets to warm his hands. And, if Gale was with him, they also served as a rather nice snack when he got peckish.
To add insult to emotional injury, Gale wasn't always around to warm up against. It just wasn't the same to huddle by a roaring fire in a warm room, Tara in his lap, Astarion craved body heat almost worse than he craved blood. Sadly, only one of those problems could be fixed by descending into the basement, and there wasn't a bit of heat to be found down there.
As the winter term at Blackstaff drew closer, Gale wound up working more, trying to help students wrap up their end of term assignments. It kept him away from home, and Astarion, for longer hours. Even though they knew this was going to be the case, Astarion didn't waste a single opportunity to bemoan this. Something had to change.
That something was a knock on the door and Astarion ventured down to see who it was.
"Fangs!" Karlach's booming voice was enough to knock him back just as much as the tackle of a hug bowled him over. "Magic man said you'd be home!"
All grumbles were melting in Astarion's throat as he basked in the heat his friend exuded. It was divine. Nothing else mattered for the moment, not the open door letting in the cold and the weak sun, not the breeze, not even that people walking past could see them. Finally feeling warm for the first time since Gale left their bed was all Astarion could think about.
"Hells, you're freezing. Come on, show me your favourite napping spot."
It just so happened to be the couch by the fire, big and soft enough to pretty much swallow Astarion whole like a loving, vegan mimic. Karlach flopped down on it with a "whoop" as she wriggled around for optimal comfort then tugged Astarion down next to her. Doing his own shuffles to get comfortable, he accidentally poked cold feet against Karlach's thigh. Usually, that got Gale yelping which, in turn, made Tara look at them with disdain. Instead, Karlach gave a throaty moan.
"Fuck, I forgot how damn good you can feel." She eyed him up with a grin. "Heads up, soldier! Incoming!"
That was all the warning Astarion got before the world tipped and turned. The next moment he was sighing as heat seeped into him from cheek to toes as Karlach settled him on her chest where they lay.
"One more thing!" Deft as ever, she dragged the throw from the back of the armchair down and spread it over them. Within a minute a wonderful heat surrounded Astarion and he groaned in appreciation. Even when Tara hopped up to settle on the small of his back, he didn't grumble. Warm, well fed and content, he actually slipped into a trance withouth meaning to.
Coming out of it, the first thing he heard was Gale and Karlach talking. There was drool under his cheek and his ear felt rather creased and numb as it drooped from where he'd been lying on it.
"Wha-?" It wasn't his most eloquent moment but Astarion didn't yet have it in him to care.
"Hello, my love." Gale smiled and reached to wipe his cheek with a thumb. "You look like you needed that rest."
"Fangs, did you know you snore? All 'snorkmimimi' like a kitten."
"Do not." Astarion was warm, comfortable and not in the mood to deal with being teased. So he took the simple route to avoid it all. Turning to mash his other cheek against Karlach for warmth, he indulged in trancing some more despite not truly needing it.

This might be a weird ask, so please disregard if you’re not interested in answering it.
I think you mentioned once that you like to cook, and a lot of your fics have mentions of food (which I love btw). So I was wondering: Do you have specific meals/recipes that make you think of certain clones? Or, do you have any headcanons as to Earth-based meals/foods specific clones would deem their favorite?
Not a weird ask at all! I do love to cook, and I'm always down to talk about food 💚
I will always think about fresh pasta with wild mushroom ragu when I think about Waxer thanks to "The Sixth Language." I have actually made that meal, and it's delicious. (I also tried to do the sexy cooking lesson with my partner, which was... Less successful 💀)
I personally headcanon that every clone has a massive sweet tooth thanks to their enhanced metabolisms and the fact that they didn't get sweets growing up. I also think they would pretty much all enjoy spicy food. This HC is for sure influenced by how spicy Mandalorian cuisine is supposed to be.
I think a lot of family-style meals would be really appealing to the clones, just because they would appreciate the sense of community. Any meal where a big group of people gathers around a table to eat and drink and laugh and talk and bond—I think that would be a dream come true for a lot of the clones. NB I'm not necessarily talking about literal biological family here; I mean it in the sense of the people you love and care about most—whomever that may include.
As far as specific foods:
I think Gregor would have a weakness for cheeseburgers (and apparently pineapple).
Dogma seems like a risotto man to me, for some reason (the technique would appeal to him, I think). He would probably love the precision of molecular gastronomy.
We know the Bad Batch loves sushi! I think seafood would be popular with a lot of the clones because they grew up on an oceanic world (though to be honest, I don't know whether their diets actually included seafood on Kamino, or whether it was just nutrient sludge).
I think Crosshair would love ramen—if he ever got a chance to actually take a bite of it.
Jesse seems like he would be very aware of his macros, and he'd be a surprisingly good cook. Mapo tofu would be his specialty. He would tell you exactly how many grams of protein was in it.
Tup... Vegetarian. Idk why, he just gives the vibe. But he'd be sneaky about it. He'd feed you the most amazing meal of your life, and you'd never even realize it was vegan.
Fireball would probably love poke bowls. Extra avocado, please!
Kix is addicted to junk food, and if anyone teases him about it, he'll be extra shaky next time he has to give them an injection. Jesse is constantly trying to get him to do better.
Rex has been a Sunday roast fan ever since he ate dinner with Cut and Suu.
Wolffe and Hunter seem like barbecue men—legit barbecue, not burgers and hot dogs. Like cochinita pibil, Texas-style brisket, barbacoa, Carolina whole hog. FIRE🔥
Cody secretly loves cheap pizza (think Little Caesar's), but if you asked him his favorite food, he'd probably say something like coq au vin. Don't get me wrong, he likes coq au vin too; it just doesn't scratch that particular itch.
The entire Coruscant Guard loves street food. Any kind of street food. If it comes from a food truck and can be eaten while walking, they're happy.
Damn, this got out of hand! I could go on until the world ended, but I have to stop somewhere. Thank you for the amazing question, Alli! It was so much fun to think about. And I'm so happy you enjoy the way I work food into my fics! One of my upcoming multichapter stories has an OC who is an aspiring cookbook author, and there is SO. MUCH. FOOD in that fic.

For some reason when Remus and I were in Italy, even in the smallest towns we visited, we saw poke bowl restaurants everywhere. It must just be a big thing in that region. But, whatever the reason, when we got home, we were both in the mood for poke bowls, and I had a rare craving for tofu, so, one Pinterest search later, this seemed like a great option for our first meal at home in a week.
I made about 2/3 of this for Remus and me, apart from the tofu and the dressing, which I made about 1/3 of for myself (Remus had tuna). For the rice, we used sushi (Remus’s favorite), and I also made Remus some shrimp sauce for his bowl in lieu of the tahini dressing.
The rice cooking time gave me plenty of opportunity to get all my veggies chopped and prepped, as well as the tofu, which I quickly fried up in my nonstick pan.
Unfortunately, though the tofu was the element I was most looking forward to here, it also turned out to be the most disappointing. It was crispy, sure, but it was super bland and really just not very pleasant. I’ll admit that I didn’t pay too serious attention to the crispy tofu instructions, but I definitely didn’t miss adding the flavor that it was desperately in need of.
But the tofu was just one element out of many here, so the bowl as a whole was not at all disappointing; Remus loved his as well. This is a great recipe if you’re looking for a super simple, super basic poke bowl. It was a great refresh for us, too, after a week of pastries, pasta, and bread.

My vegan coconut curry fried tofu. Delicious!
Try some!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
• 1 block Super Firm tofu
• 5-6 tbsp cornstarch or tapioca starch
• 1 tbsp garlic powder
• 1 tbsp onion powder
• 1 tbsp paprika
• 1 tbsp black or white pepper
• 1tsp salt
• Coconut Curry flakes (Amazon) or Thai curry powder
• Soy sauce or Liquid Aminos
• Cooking oil (olive or anything you use to deep fry)
• Bag for mixing the powder with tofu
• Dipping sauce (sweet n sour)
• Tongs
Directions
1. Press the tofu to squeeze as much water out as you can
2. Cut the tofu in pieces small enough to fry at least half at a time or whole
...
3. Put the cut pieces in a bowl and douse them with the soy sauce or liquid aminos
4. Find a plastic bag to mix all the powders together minus the coconut curry.
5. Mix the powders in a bag evenly
6. Throw the marinated tofu into the bag and shake it till the tofu is fully coated
7. Fully heat up the oil on medium heat. Make it's enough oil to fry half at a time or fully. Test the sizzle with leftover mixed powder
8. Fry the tofu. Use tongs. It should sizzle right away
9. If it's not sizzling, turn up the heat a bit
10. Turn the tofu pieces to make sure you fried them all around. They shouldn't be squishy when you poke them with a fork. Should have a shell-like feel.
11. After each piece is done frying, place them on a plate with a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
12. Sprinkle your curry flakes/powder on the tofu
They should be crispy and not fall apart. Let them cool for a min.
Dip them in your favorite sauce! I like sweet n sour.
