Creamy and delicious vegan potato leek with maca soup! This hearty and comforting soup is satisfying and will make you crave for more.

Ingredients:

4-5 medium sized leeks 3 tbsps cacao butter 3 small potato boiled and diced Kosher salt 1 cup coconut milk 1/2 teaspoon white pepper 4 cups vegetable broth 2 teaspoons maca

Instructions:

In a saucepan, melt the butter and add sliced leeks and salt Allow it cook on medium flame for 25 minutes Add potatoes and vegetable broth. Allow it to boil for a few minutes Turn off the heat and add the mixture in a blender along with the rest of the ingredients Serve with coconut cream and corriander leaves

VEGAN FOOD ADVENTURES WITH RAW CHEF YIN - featuring Chin Swee Vegeciting We had to go to @bensindependentgrocer at Publika to get the edible flowers for my online demo on CHEFAJ LIVE on raw vegan fruit tartlets so we decided to check out @chinsweevegeciting. It’s our first time here. But it seems like we tend to order our same favourite dishes at different vegetarian Chinese restaurants. We had: ✅Four Heaven King RM28 ✅Bak Kut Teh RM26 ✅Steamed Brown Rice RM7 (2 bowls) I wanted to try their curry but it had dairy in it. And they couldn’t make it without the dairy as it’s already mixed into the paste. This is a vegetarian restaurant - Items with eggs, dairy, garlic & onion are clearly marked. They’ve also introduced a special menu with tea-infused dishes. I was curious but then again afraid that I would be sensitive to the caffeine in the tea and can’t sleep. Perhaps the next time. The mini hot pot looked good although I didn’t check if it was vegan. Classy setting - it’s the kind of place I would take my mum to so I can impress her with vegan food, hehehe. Staff were great as well - courteous, respectful, friendly and helpful. I was quite surprised that it was easy to find parking on a Saturday at Publika…but maybe it’s because parking charges are high now! Have you been to Chin Swee Vegeciting? They’re fun to make and have a super soft fluffy in texture and so delicious! Check out on my YouTube channel how the make this irresistible mantau! Pumpkin dough: 150g flour 1/4 tsp yeast 150g pumpkin purée 2 tbsp sugar White dough: 100g flour 1/4 tsp yeast 55ml soy milk 2 tbsp sugar Making pumpkin dough: (Steam the pumpkin) 1) Mix well the pumpkin purée with sugar 2) Mix together the flour with the yeast 3) Pour the pumpkin mixture into the flour and knead the dough turn soft. Once done cover and let the dough rest for 30 minutes. Making white dough: 1) Mix well the soy milk and sugar, stir till the sugar dissolve 2) Mix the flour with the yeast, pour the soy milk into the flour and knead till it turn soft. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes 3) Next take out the yellow dough, punch out the air from the dough and start to knead again the dough till it soft and smooth. Roll out the yellow dough into thin flat rectangle and set aside and cover with damp towel to prevent it from drying out. 5) Same process with the white dough, punch out the air from the dough. Roll out the white dough into thin flat rectangle. Now place the yellow dough on a table top and stack the white dough on top of the yellow dough. Off we go again. ✈️ First to Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾 #malaysia ✨ . Forgot that I’m taking @malaysiaairlines NOT Air Asia for this leg, so I went to the wrong counter. 🤦🏻‍♀️ . Also forgot to order vegetarian option 24 hr before my flight, so I got some bread just in case. 🤷🏻‍♀️ . And I lost my travel pillow before I enter the security check point. This was the 3rd one. 😳 . People always say how hard it must be for me to find vegetarian or vegan food in KL. I tell them it’s easy.

This is typical Malay food called: ‘Nasi Campur’, and is eaten all over Malaysia every day in open buffet style and costs only 5-7 RM. That’s £1 in England. And it’s delicious, with lots of raw ‘ulam’ leaves on the side and spicy ‘sambal’ sauce. If ever I have doubts about being in Malaysia, eating this food makes me feel at home even tho it’s nothing like what I’d ever eat back home… Malay food is some of the tastiest, healthiest and spiciest food I’ve eaten! So if you find yourself in Malaysia just show these photos to a local and for sure they will smile, say “aaaah” and point you to the nearest spot
