i am so obsessed with how like. taken as read the ot3 are at this point. like on the one hand it feels like they've been building up to this for ages but on the other hand it kind of feels like i blinked and we skipped right past some Major Turning Point where everything got spelled out and we're just already in firmly Established Relationship-land. obviously tarvek is too well-protected for anyone to assassinate openly, look how angry his boyfriend and girlfriend are at the idea of anyone threatening him. at this point i'm half-convinced agatha's just going to refer to her boyfriends in passing to someone else and no one's even going to comment on it until van finds out twenty pages later and immediately starts making everyone pay up

Inspired both by the recent solar eclipse and this post by @otiksimr, an art piece I’ve never been prouder of, my WoF oc Sunkiller!
Born under a total solar eclipse (ask me about my temperature-based nightwing hatching headcanons. and also my headcanons about how sunlight affects nightwings.) and blessed with the ability of perfect knowledge of the past, or at least the past where dragons exist. This of course makes her an invaluable resource to historians everywhere, which she is absolutely sick of, and so has gotten very adept at the hermit lifestyle. For pity’s sake, you solve ONE cold case murder as a hatchling, and suddenly EVERYBODY wants your attention…
(if tui has declared anything canon about nightwings and solar eclipses, like she has for blood moons, which are lunar eclipses, i haven’t seen it)

I feel like writers, official and fan writers alike, forget how young Jason is, but also that it makes sense that Jason as a character would carry himself as older than he is. When you do the math utrh Jason is like high school senior/college freshman years old doing mob boss shit. Like my brother in christ put that duffle bag down and go get your GED. Barely even old enough to be in the club he needs to take his ass to the homecoming game
#I'm fuzzier on the new52 timeline but i know that utrh jason is like 19. I would guess that current timeline Jason is like barely early 20s#if that.#Jason Todd#dc#which is why 'Jason adopts Tim' aus are crazy to me their canon age difference is 2 years they'd be in the same highschool 2 grades apart#But I do think it very much makes sense for him to have like a less severe version of Damien’s ‘I act like an adult in a kid’s body’ thing#going on because he had to grow up fast even pre Robin. This is not at all what I thought I'd be posting today. But in the course of visiting WIPs through asks the last few days, this one really grabbed me again. Here's the last snippet (and master tag list). It made me cry so now I'm making it your problem, too.
Evan’s voice is shy this time, relieved. Eddie can picture the way he’s cradling his phone, his elbow resting on his other arm wrapped around his middle. The way he’s ducking his chin and his cheeks are probably painted in a rosy blush. It loosens the knot in Eddie’s chest, just the tiniest bit. Enough to ease the mess that’s been tangling together for nearly five years now.
“How have you been?” Eddie asks.
“Oh, y’know. Okay. I’m in Arizona now. About eight hours from Tucson.”
“Arizona? Wow, you, uh, probably aren’t worried about snow storms then.”
“Nope.” Evan pops the ‘p’ and gives a small chuckle. “Can’t say that even breaks the top ten. Haboobs on the other hand… well those are a whole other thing.”
Eddie’s just about to ask what the hell a haboob is when Christopher’s piercing shriek fills the air. Eddie whips his head around to look. He rushes over to his son who is a pouting mess of tears and flailing limbs, and pulls him into his arms while still holding the phone between his ear and shoulder.
“Sorry about that,” Eddie says once he’s got Chris settled in his arms. He looks over his tiny body for any obvious injuries, and feels along his head and spine, not even sure what exactly he’s looking for. The outburst had been so sudden and Chris hadn’t even been so much as toppled over. But then, as quickly as it started, it recedes again as Chris pops his thumb in his mouth and nuzzles into the crook of Eddie’s neck.
“Is that-” Evan sucks in a shaky breath, cutting himself off.
Eddie’s throat and chest grow tight as realization dawns on him. The reminder of every mistake he’s made – even the ones that gave him his perfect son – sticking like daggers in his heart. Because Evan’s never heard- he doesn’t know. Because he left and was gone. Because Eddie pushed him away and couldn’t be what Evan wanted or needed.
“Christopher,” Eddie says, barely able to keep his voice from breaking. “He’s four now. Almost five.”
“Christopher,” Evan repeats.
An unbearably heavy silence stretches between them, so loud in its intensity that Eddie wishes it would just swallow him whole already. He doesn’t know how much time passes before there’s the sound of shifting and crackling on the other end.
“I should, uh, I should go,” Evan rushes out. “It was nice to hear from you again.”
“No, Evan, wait-” Eddie pleads, only to be met with more silence as he realizes the call’s been disconnected. Evan’s gone. Again.
In a haze, he lets his phone drop to the floor. He rearranges a now dozing Chris as he numbly settles on the recliner, gently rocking them back and forth. Silently, tears begin to stream down his face and he rocks them faster as if it’ll keep him from shattering and breaking apart completely.

#I’m only very rarely inclined to get this intimate w my thoughts so I might as well say it NOW butttt I will never not see the dead children#In everything I do#Like legit#I’ve read up on Hind so extensively and seen so many photos of her#And I have a very healthy relationship w the popular Palestinian journalists so she’s not my blorbo or anything#But hearing that memo destroyed me bc bisan is only 23 and she seemed so vivacious#Idk like I do normal people things I can’t just pause on my life#But idk how it feels like to sit at a boba place and enjoy my pearl milk tea w my friends#While the horrors over there don’t just lurk the back of my mind. I do normal things and I’m guilty for having the luxury#And as an Iraqi girl I’m living in the literal ideal timeline#Where my mom decided to immigrate to the us and that’s why I’m here living a normal life like everyone else#It’s like in a different world if I were born in a different time it could’ve so easily been me. I’m one of the Lucky Ones idk#It’s not survivor’s guilt bc it’s not like I had to survive anything like I never had the chance to live in Iraq or anything#But like. If some things had fallen just a little differently#And I keep thinking about how I’d feel if it were happening to Iraq and people behaved the way they’re doing to Palestinians#I’d be so mad#And some people on here are dealing w assholes while bursting at the seams w grief#For losing their loved ones#This is why I’m so fucking angry at anyone who’s complicit#This was a major tangent but basically I feel weird about doing normal things now while simultaneously knowing I can’t just sit and wallow#And watch life pass by as if it’ll do anything#Misery is not a home but I’m struggling to be 100% normal#And I think that this tonal dissonance is reflecting on my blog too bc I can’t go back to just#Posting about all the other normal things I used to. Like I want to but sometimes I feel off.#Is this anything. I haven’t slept all night#I can’t just allow myself to lose interest in everything I used to like and be and just fade away but maybe it’s about accepting that this#Will also always be a part of me now. It’s that awareness that shadows everything I do#or maybe I need a therapist it’s a toss up#I’ll probably feel better once I get my day started but this was cathartic to voice I think#p

#lies of p#geppetto is over and over mentioned and shown to be a very stubborn man.#and the little we see of carlo.... it works.... he was in fact kind of a bull-headed little brat.#and everyone knows how much parents with strong personalities ~loooooooove~ when their kids. get it from them.#i'm not ragging on carlo. the basis of personality that is inherited is not the sole defining factor in what a person is like--#--and what is developed & changed by one's experiences would make them very different people still.#THAT SAID: i do think carlo achieving his little dream of being The Best Stalker In The World WOULD put him at risk of.#going down the same path his dear old man did :^)#there's something about being at the top of your field and what being the unquestioned authority in all that pertains to it can--#--very easily make one close-minded and set in their ways. it's probably what happened with geppetto.#i mean if my timeline is right he fucked with venigni's grand covenant long before he needed to enact mass murder to resurrect his son.#which to me speaks of him considering only himself as a trustworthy authority for a long time.#the tags in these posts really are the main feature now huh. sorry about that i just like talking here better.👍its like a secret post.#anyway.
