SO. these two scenes are a perfect encapsulation of the brian/curt dynamic.

-by contrast, after the orgy scene, we get this bird’s eye view of brian and curt in bed, the morning after. the framing here (whether intentional or not) is so. fucking beautiful. the lighting is much different. even though it’s technically more lit, all of the flashiness of the stage washes away and becomes this portrait of pure, natural life and emotion. instead of their costumes, they are clad in nothing but each other. more to the point, curt and brian are in the same spots as the prior frame, but who is reaching for who? brian clings to the edge/corner of this bed, BUT CURT TAKES MOST OF THE SPACE AND REACHES FOR BRIAN WITH BOTH HIS HANDS AND HIS BODY. he seeks, always, this kind of vulnerability of brian that brian is literally closed of to!

they want such different things from each other, but in such a similar way. it’s so heartbreaking.

* Enemy: Alien brain/scorpion hybrid that shoots an energy orb that splits if you’re close enough.

* Enemy: Cyborg soldier that starts off invisible/invincible before he turns off those states so he can shotgun blast you. If you kill him in this vulnerable state, he activates a bomb post death.

* Boss 1: A floating house monster that tries to smash you with its hands but those have weak spots.

* Boss 2: A crazy cyborg general shooting you from above, but you must turn off the generators of his energy shield, so a friend you’ll make in this chapter gets to attack the boss.

* Prefab: Treadmill floor with boxes you can jump on and laser hazards.

* Prefab: A weapon you shouldn’t touch because of its security system.

* Prefab: A moving crate on tracks.

* Guest appearance: Xemarokk, a tall warlord by MarkerSlayer/PraiseAltman111.

* Version of the horizontal moving platform that has a longer path (Like the previous main update did with the vertical one).

* Cutscene pause menu has language settings (Did this to test both languages).

This world was even more ambitious than Massag-Coav.

Something specific was to see the “fake crossover” aspect so hard, that I really tried to push Yiegour as a potential FPS character.

Vg. Invasión Part 2

La horda de monstruos se acercaba hacia la primera línea de los guerreros del clan, pero antes de que chocaran ambas huestes, una lluvia de flechas comenzó a llover desde los flancos del campo. Las tropas de Danna y Ennier habían comenzado su ataque, logrando que la estampida de monstruos se dividiera en 3 partes, una seguía por el centro y las otras dos se habrían en el campo para perseguir a los arqueros. Aquella estrategia ayudaba mucho a quitar presión al centro del ataque.  Una vez que Danna y Ennier atacaron, volvieron al interior de los pequeños bosques a enfrentar a las bestias que ingresaran por allí.

Descomprimido el centro, el primero en iniciar la masacre fue Krispyjay, quien lanzando hachazos iba cortando enemigos. Su fuerza y presteza era tal que incluso, partía dos enemigos al mismo tiempo sin siquiera notarlo, el que entrase al área de ataque de este loco vikingo, podía darse por muerto. Krispyjay seguía repartiendo hachazos, cortando brazos, partiendo pechos por la mitad, cercenando piernas para luego aplastar las cabezas de sus enemigos con sus botas, era sin duda un guerrero difícil de vencer.

Draco envistió con su lanza y empaló a varios monstruos, para luego blandir su armas y asestar golpes contundentes que noqueaban a sus enemigos, los otros guerreros del clan aprovechaban la oportunidad y los finiquitaban mientras las bestias seguían inconscientes. Draco los inmovilizaba y el resto los eliminaba, era una sinergia que sólo podía funcionar por la confianza que tenían en el guerrero semihumano. Draco seguía blandiendo su lanza/escudo de derecha a izquierda, si bien sus movimientos eran predecibles, era imposible hacerles frente, era como si tratases de esquivar la embestida de un gran camión, sabes que puedes escapar para los costados, pero el miedo del poder te paralizaba. Ese efecto tenía el ataque de Draco, era tan poderosos que el sólo hecho de fallar en esquivarlo, significaría la derrota.

Feanor comenzó a utilizar su magia. El elfo tenía la particularidad de controlar el fuego como si se tratase de hojas ondulantes, no era la común magia de invocar y lanzar bolas de fuego, sino de controlarlo como tal. Feanor desconocía que tal poder de habilidad sobrepasaba al de su hermano, pero mientras siguiese sumido en la envidia, nunca podría explotarlo a su máximo potencial.  Las llamas de Feanor, por lo general, tenían forma de grandes cuchillas ardientes, que se movían al rededor de él mientras el Elfo las manejaba con sus brazos, también tenía la opción de difuminarlas y convertirlas en una muralla de fuego o bien en una lanza incandescente. Dependiendo de la situación, Feanor podía moldear sus llamas como él quisiese.  Con su estilo de cuchillas ardientes, iba generando cortes en sus enemigos para luego quemarlos, si su estado de ánimo estaba muy alterado, los terminaba mutilando y quemando al mismo tiempo, lo que ocurría generalmente. Con la ira a flor de piel por ver el poder de su hermano, Feanor quería matar más monstruos que Portagasdace. Cortaba con sus cuchillas, empalaba con su lanza y los incineraba, luego creaba una muralla para quemar a varios monstruos y finalmente rematarlos con cuchillas. Sus movimientos parecían una danza, al tener que blandir sus manos constantemente, generaban un cansancio rápido y lo dejaban vulnerable a los ataques sorpresas.

Kaz seguía ordenando a sus tropas, la defensa iba perfectamente. Cada cierto tiempo, el ala derecha y el ala izquierda lanzaban unas bengalas verdes en señalan de que estaba manejando la situación, pero el ala izquierda no estaba respondiendo hace 20 minutos. Kaz preocupada por la situación, envió a uno de sus comandantes al ala izquierda a buscar información. Kito era un guerrero sobresaliente de las huestes, si bien no amasaba tanta gloria como sus otros compañeros, su espíritu de superación lo volvía un gran referente. Kito comenzó a avanzar hacia el ala izquierda, iba matando monstruos a la vez que preguntaba a sus aliados si sabían algo de las tropas de Ennier, pero nadie sabía. Kito comenzó a tener un mal presagio, comenzó a acelerar el pasó y evitar peleas, se introdujo en el pequeño bosque y sus pensamientos se hicieron realidad. Dentro del bosque comenzó a ver cadáveres de guerreros del clan tirados en el piso, cortados con una fuerza descomunal, pareciese que fuesen cortados con las hachas de Krispyjay, por lo salvaje y desgarrador, por lo que Kito se hizo la idea de que los enemigos que habían entrado a esa parte del bosque eran fuera de lo común de la horda. 

Al seguir avanzando se topó con sonidos de lucha, aún quedaban guerreros resistiendo. Apuró el paso y comenzó a ayudarles. Entre los atacantes habían monstruos normales, a los que estaban acostumbrados a eliminar, y otros más “evolucionados”, usaban armadura y mejores armas, además de poseer una contextura física más imponente. Kito eliminó fácilmente a varios orcos normales, pero cuando entabló batalla contra uno “de elite” supo que el clan estaba en grandes problemas.

Retrocedió varios pasos antes de darse cuenta que más allá estaba Ennier luchando contra 3 de esas bestias. Kito se lanzó contra su enemigo, éste bloqueó su espadazo con su Kashal Kur, una especie de gran espada parecida a una cimitarra, luego la bestia le dio una patada en el pecho y se mofó de él. Kito se enfureció por la humillación, volvió a tomar vuelo y se lanzó con un corte hacia las piernas, dado el tamaño y la envergadura del orco de Elite, Kito pensó que era imposible que esquivara ese ataque, pero para su sorpresa, el orco saltó y con su gran Kashal Kur cortó el brazo el héroe. 

Kito gritó de dolor mientras intentaba para la hemorragia, de rodillas frente a su enemigo, éste lo menos precio y se dirigió para acabar con Ennier. Kito se mordió su labio, lamentó su debilidad y en su impulso de superación, tomó su espada de su brazo caído y se lanzó al ataque nuevamente. El dolor y la pérdida de sangre agudizaron los sentidos de Kito, parecía correr más rápido y ver todo en cámara lenta, en su agonizante ataque descubrió su técnica, “Epifanía”. Epifanía le otorgaba a Kito habilidades abrumadoras en su lecho de muerto, fue así como se acercó al primer orco de elite, lo atravesó con su espada en el pecho, para luego darle un corte profundo en la garganta. El orco no pudo reaccionar y sólo pudo ver a Kito acercarse a sus otros compañeros. Kito rasgó los tendones de uno de los atacantes de Ennier, luego Eniier aprovechó la oportunidad y clavó su espada en la cara del Orco, uno de los orcos se giró para hacer frente a Kito, lo que aprovechó Ennier para asestarle un golpe en las costillas y desparramas sus intestinos en el suelo, sin embargo el tercer orco de elite, blandió su Kashal Kur sobre el pecho de Ennier, quien pudo protegerse con su espada, no obstante el poder y fuerza era tal que el solo bloqueo le abrió el pecho a Ennier. Un tajo desde su pectoral derecho hasta su obligo se abrió y lo dejó de rodillas, Kito aprovechó la defensa baja del tercer orco y cortó el brazo que manejaba la espada, luego asestó un golpe en la nuca del orco para terminar con él.

Con ambos guerreros mal heridos, Ennier le señaló a Kito. “Apresúrate, están intentando atacar el campamento, el ataque principal es una farsa” Kito dejó a Ennier en el bosque y se dirigió hacia el campamento, no sin antes lanzar una bengala negra, señalando que había problemas graves. Kito no sabía cuanto más iba a durar con su estado actual, pero iba a hacer todo lo que estuviese a su alcance para avisar del inminente peligro.

In this way, the environment itself is endangered: something good in God’s eyes has become something to be exploited in human hands. Deterioration has increased in recent decades: constant pollution, the continued use of fossil fuels, intensive agricultural exploitation and deforestation are causing global temperatures to rise above safe levels. The increase in the intensity and frequency of extreme weather phenomena and the desertification of the soil are causing immense hardship for the most vulnerable among us. Melting of glaciers, scarcity of water, neglect of water basins and the considerable presence of plastic and microplastics in the oceans are equally troubling, and testify to the urgent need for interventions that can no longer be postponed. We have caused a climate emergency that gravely threatens nature and life itself, including our own.

In effect, we have forgotten who we are: creatures made in the image of God (cf. Gen 1:27) and called to dwell as brothers and sisters in a common home. We were created not to be tyrants, but to be at the heart of a network of life made up of millions of species lovingly joined together for us by our Creator. Now is the time to rediscover our vocation as children of God, brothers and sisters, and stewards of creation. Now is the time to repent, to be converted and to return to our roots. We are beloved creatures of God, who in his goodness calls us to love life and live it in communion with the rest of creation.

For this reason, I strongly encourage the faithful to pray in these days that, as the result of a timely ecumenical initiative, are being celebrated as a Season of Creation. This season of increased prayer and effort on behalf of our common home begins today, 1 September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends on 4 October, the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. It is an opportunity to draw closer to our brothers and sisters of the various Christian confessions. I think in particular of the Orthodox faithful, who have celebrated this Day for thirty years. In this ecological crisis affecting everyone, we should also feel close to all other men and women of good will, called to promote stewardship of the network of life of which we are part.

This is the season for letting our prayer be inspired anew by closeness to nature, which spontaneously leads us to give thanks to God the Creator. Saint Bonaventure, that eloquent witness to Franciscan wisdom, said that creation is the first “book” that God opens before our eyes, so that, marvelling at its order, its variety and its beauty, we can come to love and praise its Creator (cf. Breviloquium, II, 5, 11). In this book, every creature becomes for us “a word of God” (cf. Commentarius in Librum Ecclesiastes, I, 2). In the silence of prayer, we can hear the symphony of creation calling us to abandon our self-centredness in order to feel embraced by the tender love of the Father and to share with joy the gifts we have received. We can even say that creation, as a network of life, a place of encounter with the Lord and one another, is “God’s own ‘social network’” (Audience for the Guides and Scouts of Europe, 3 August 2019). Nature inspires us to raise a song of cosmic praise to the Creator in the words of Scripture: “Bless the Lord, all things that grow on the earth, sing praise to him and highly exalt him forever” (Dan 3:76 Vg).

It is also a season to reflect on our lifestyles, and how our daily decisions about food, consumption, transportation, use of water, energy and many other material goods, can often be thoughtless and harmful. Too many of us act like tyrants with regard to creation. Let us make an effort to change and to adopt more simple and respectful lifestyles! Now is the time to abandon our dependence on fossil fuels and move, quickly and decisively, towards forms of clean energy and a sustainable and circular economy. Let us also learn to listen to indigenous peoples, whose age-old wisdom can teach us how to live in a better relationship with the environment.

This too is a season for undertaking prophetic actions. Many young people all over the world are making their voices heard and calling for courageous decisions. They feel let down by too many unfulfilled promises, by commitments made and then ignored for selfish interests or out of expediency. The young remind us that the earth is not a possession to be squandered, but an inheritance to be handed down. They remind us that hope for tomorrow is not a noble sentiment, but a task calling for concrete actions here and now. We owe them real answers, not empty words, actions not illusions.

Our prayers and appeals are directed first at raising the awareness of political and civil leaders. I think in particular of those governments that will meet in coming months to renew commitments decisive for directing the planet towards life, not death. The words that Moses proclaimed to the people as a kind of spiritual testament at the threshold of the Promised Land come to mind: “Therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live” (Dt 3:19). We can apply those prophetic words to ourselves and to the situation of our earth. Let us choose life! Let us say “no” to consumerist greed and to the illusion of omnipotence, for these are the ways of death. Let us inaugurate farsighted processes involving responsible sacrifices today for the sake of sure prospects for life tomorrow. Let us not give in to the perverse logic of quick profit, but look instead to our common future!

In this regard, the forthcoming United Nations Climate Action Summit is of particular importance. There, governments will have the responsibility of showing the political will to take drastic measures to achieve as quickly as possible zero net greenhouse gas emissions and to limit the average increase in global temperature to 1.5 degrees Celsius with respect to pre-industrial levels, in accordance with the Paris Agreement goals. I think younger me found him really boring and prefered all the other characters in the film. I still think he's kind boring lol but I understand him better these days.      Yeah anger doesn't seem to be her motivation at all in that scene. Personally I think Curt could have liked to know Brian was there, but how painful, really, would be the former lover you're somehow still trying to reach with music leaving during the song where you're pouring your heart out like that? Very painful, I would bet, so I could understand if that was Mandy's reason, even if I don't fully agree (don't lie to people!). I think Curt and Mandy may have found solace in each other because they were both people that loved Brian and were somehow betrayed by him, and that was something in common that created some kind of kinship between them. Didn't think about Brian lacking something in a human way, but it's a possibility I suppose - but I always thought it was because Brian lost himself between the money, the drugs, the fame and his persona stage ('in the end he thought he was Maxwell)

     The beautiful thing (but also frustrating) is that we really know so little about this relationship, and that is because we hear almost nothing from /them/. Brian's first manage, Cecil, tells us a little, and Mandy tells us much more, but we don't hear Brian's side of the story, or even Curt's - Curt says a little but says VERY little -, and they are the ones who really lived this relationship, but the bits we get to know from others... oh, boy. As you say, Brian worked REALLY hard to get to the point where he arrived and it was his biggest dream, and he was ready to just throw it out the minute Curt left him, and years later Curt still carrying the pin, still going to the Tommy Stone show despite the bitterness of it all... it's a lot to take in.

     I think it's fair to say it was a very intense relationship, not just sex and not just an alliance for the careers. As you say, I think the orgy scene says a LOT about their relationship - that they were not willing to share their intimacy with a whole room of people despite them being ~horny rockstars~ and this kind of being their thing. Also says a lot that the minute they got together they decided to leave together for the 'short holiday', more time alone between them to build their intimacy without the interference of anyone else. It's no wonder for me that Mandy thought that moment Brian was going out of the door, because he was - emotionally at least, he was really falling in love with Curt and it was no small thing, you can see it wasn't by the serious and sad manner she speaks about it so many years later.

     Yeah I think the 'joking' things he said in this scenes were far more serious for him than it appeared. Reminds me of Curt at the end saying 'We set up to change the world... only end up changing ourselves', gives me the strongest impression that there was a pure, loving and maybe even naive dream shared between in it all. Something pure and fragile that could not survive all the extremes of their lives... gosh, I really love these two characters and their relationship, and all the unsaid, only hinted things between them.
