god i love the nightmare route !! so much. there are so few times that time is taken for the voices to just interact and bicker. (i have a lot of feelings so im breaking here)

hero and paranoid bounce off of each other, only trusting each other and being against both the narrator and the princess. there is a moment of teaching and gentleness even in such a deadly situation. the princess comments multiple times on how inactive the player is just because the two of them are busy. and hero knows para is pretty much always right; he always agrees with him even though para seems pretty damn unhinged. he's there to be a reasonable, gentle reminder to para to keep his head on straight.

hero is usually not argumentative, but it really isnt often that he 100% goes with the whims of whatever voice joins him, but by the end of the route, they are entirely in agreement, and hero only wants what paranoid feels is right. there isn't any other route where hero has absolutely no qualms about the additional voice. theres always at least a little bit of doubt or disbelief, but its different with paranoid. i dont know why they made it this way. i dont know why just the two of them are so special. do you think thats why they can access the moment of clarity? because its two voices living in total harmony? am i on to something? am i delusional? which outcome is worse?

ugh. anyway.

the connection that specifically those two have makes me want to kill things. so rarely is the bickering between voices so not aggressive. hell, i am NOT one to find a couple bickering to be a positive. but they work together, relying on each other. knowing that the only thing they can trust is themselves. trying and doing everything they can to keep the long quiet safe. even beyond the nightmare route, hero never denies him, but offers him a voice of reason. ngjdhng
