what would happen if skitch and r got into their first fight? would it be over something major or minor?
Hi and hello :3
How do I admit now that I was thinkin about this a bit the other day-
Wanda and Skitch's first fight may or may not be expected (maybe even a subltle hint of this problem in the sick!Skitch ask), but as sociable as Skitch can be, lighthearted and all, and they don't really get personal/rely on other people. It isolates themselves and pushes others away even though Skitch may not mean to.
Wanda does the same thing too in her own way, but she's not nearly as hard-stop with it. Wanda knows that she can count on and rely on other people to talk to and look after her, even though that circle of people is small.
Wanda brings this up, I wanna say like four months into their relationship, because she's let Skitch into her life and even though Skitch has let Wanda in as well, Skitch still kept her at arm's length when it comes to certain things, when at that point it's a pretty noticeable gap. "You know about me, but when I think about it, I don't really know much about you. Why is that?" To put it briefly.
Skitch hasn't really gone into depth about themselves (not saying they have to full on trauma dump or some shit), not because they don't want to but because "there's not much to know" (*ahem* a damn lie). A good bit of Skitch's life is repressed to them. Not because crazy shit happened per say, but because there are just things Skitch doesn't want to think about/talk about/remember, so to them why should they bring it up?
Wanda was definitely the more vulnerable one in that fight in specific because she is a well-known public figure, basically a celebrity. Most anything Skitch would want to know about Wanda and/or her life is really a google search away. Again, Skitch has a right to that privacy, it's the fact that seemingly the most basic things about Skitch were learned through circumstance she would have preferred to hear from Skitch directly (ex: Wanda had to learn that Skitch was adopted through a joke Remy made in the shop the week before this fight).
The crux of this argument is that Wanda and Skitch are in a committed relationship to each other, sleeping in the other's house, sharing wardrobe space, *ahem* other forms of intimacy, but Skitch in a way still feels like a stranger to Wanda. A wild thing to think about when Skitch's dick has literally been rearranging Wanda's guts for months-
Once that point gets across to Skitch is when they make some headway and apologize for freezing Wanda out in that way, which is the last thing they wanted to do. Wanda's not trying to push or force Skitch into talking about their past and every little thing and that's the most important part to remember.
Part of making another person a part of your life is letting them in so they can see you and get acquainted with those parts of you as well, and it was this fight that helped Skitch realize they hadn't been doing that with Wanda.
so. never consumed any mcu content whatsoever. however i have recently stumbled upon peter parker/harley keener fanfics, went down a rabbit hole, and am now obsessed with their dynamic and i realized i have just fallen into the trap of another blond + southerner + sarcastic + calls-his-boyfriend-darlin’ + infinitely supportive + big fucking nerd x incredibly traumatized + sarcastic + italian + orphan + definitely-started-saving-the-world-too-young + big fucking nerd ship. i am nothing if not predictable
Just to minimize my chances of being genuinely misunderstood OR deliberately misinterpreted, and crucified for something I don't think, How Dare You Say We Piss on the Poor website etc...I'm gonna say this right up top. I absolutely understand why people don't like Thessaly as a character, if anyone does completely unironically stan her as some kind of feminist hero who Did Nothing Wrong uwu, I personally see it as a bit of a red flag. I don't like terfs real or fictional. In a vacuum, I could even completely sympathize and agree with the people who want her cut.
HOWEVER.
It's really something to me to see people clamoring for her to be cut, because she carries and expressed an ugly indefensible prejudice (transphobia) in words towards (1) person. Meanwhile Hob fucking Gadling enacted one of the most violent forms of antiblack racism I can even think of against thousands no, millions of people, the ripple effects of which still affect billions more today. Just a little light idk, profiting off the fucking slave trade and had to be told by someone else that it was bad...and he's a fan favorite.
People are saying Thessally being Dream's love interest reflects badly on him or is somehow endorsement by the narrative (?!?!?!?!?!? Didn't she (SPOILER ALERT AS IF IT MATTERS BY NOW) help participate in his extended assisted suicide? She's not painted as a great person to me just another character what are y'all SMOKING whatever fine. It's fine this is fine.) But shipping Dream with Mr. Former Slaver is not only not verboten or frowned on widely in the fandom but its THEE most popular pairing by far. So...why the difference?
Like where are the same fans who are saying Thessaly shouldn't just be more clearly shown to be wrong, she shouldn't even be in the show at all when it comes to Hobert's crimes??? Yes, transphobia is indefensible. Isn't racism?
And I hear the cries of "it's fiction!!!" Already rallying (if anyone who needs to hear this even sees it lol) to which I say:
HORSESHIT. I KNOW you don't, deep down, really agree because if you did, why get upset about Thessaly being included??? Why does what she said to one person matter if it's Just Fiction You Guyze. Fictional characters are allowed to do bad things and fiction isn't reality sweaty....except when you only apply that standard to fictional racists you like and simp for, but fictional transphobes you don't are SO HARMFUL they shouldn't even be portrayed in fiction.
Like. Give me a big fat BREAK. This looks like bullshit, no? I'm sorry, but I'd love for someone to try and give any other explanation besides one personally offended you or hit home for you, and the other doesn't.
And if that bothers you or you feel like it says something negative about you...idk what you want me to say??? You can't control how other people perceive you and that's how people outside this majority-of-the-fandom bubble see it. You don't need to respond, I just wish and genuinely hope this gives you a moment to think about why fans who ARE bothered by both (and not just paying lip service to being bothered by the one but railing against the other) are so frustrated with people saying everyone is welcome but in practice only bending over backwards for the comfort and emotions of themselves, and people they can easily relate to.
You don't have to like Thessaly (I don't. I find her an interesting antagonist, I don't stan her. And frankly that's not the point of her character) but you'll pardon me for feeling more than a bit cynical and side eying people's motivations for what seems a...pretty obvious double standard, on what fictional crimes related to real world issues matter to y'all, and which clearly don't. Either actually bring the same energy to the table for fictional people who committed atrocities, even if against a group you're not part of and thus don't feel the need to empathize with, or just carry on, but accept that you don't have the SLIGHTEST room to talk about cutting characters who do immoral things. And you also need to accept that you look like a hypocrite when you do.
In the GORL server, our latest study club prompt is a style mix up!!
why just be sort-of godparents when you can be FAIRY godparents?? either way, Nanny and Franny are fairly odd if you ask me. Warlock may or may not agree.
I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (apart from I skipped some overly long action sequences) and I am not sure so can someone tell me whether or not Tony Stark was the baddy in that film? Because about halfway through I was sure he was but then it was maybe just an evil robot after all and I am confused because either this film was surprisingly subversive or it was about robots hitting each other.
this post on pinterest has somehow made me start thinking about a comedy human au,, all the bots are siblings, ages are fucked, all the walters live in one big house,, the bots r all teenagers (imagine having six teenagers jc). their parents are iris and peter i. they have two adult siblings, ii and iii. mark, wanda and iv are their nephews and niece. peter i has an oc sibling that isn't around anymore but is V's parent, and VI is his son (the bot's cousin).
i dont think the original inspiration post fits in at all but its funny so im not removing it amen
anyways. ages i think would be like,,
II & III in their early thirties
V in his early thirties but younger than the rest of em.
rabbit and spine are 18 and twins
hmm my zer0 headcanon is that he was built first but powered on later so maybe hes like 19 but adopted/a half sibling that moved in slightly later? idk hes 17 or 19
next i think is hatchworth he is 15 and draws on a moustache every morning and tells everyone its real (jon is convinced)
jon is um uh 12 little boy 🫵
upgrade is 9
mark is 11
wanda is 9 (woah two 9 year old girls. yhey tell everyone they're twins)
realising that i cant keep the age difference the same as canon because iv would be -1. oops. hes a little baby
vi is also a little baby.
sorry i lied they're not all teenagers lawl. also realised zer0 couldn't be a half sibling because they have two way older siblings too oops
yeah this au makes no sense but i do think its funny. sitcom au. highschool au.
they all go by their canon robot names, its unclear whether they were named that or if they're nicknames or a mix of both. five is older than four because of a mistake on his birth certificate, he should have been four but they all just kinda went with it and named the next one four
i think rabbit would come out to her [younger] siblings at 13 and come out/start transitioning at 14, partially in reference to the year she transitioned in canon and partially because i was that old when i came out teehee. i think maybe she always knew and expressed it though, she just didnt know trans people existed and didn't have the terminology for it
do they have all-through schools in the us? like elementary all the way to high school? we do in the uk but idk about over there. if they do then that could be funny i think
“...It’s like uh gender isn’t something you can pick and choose uh far as Gods are concernced.”
“Well, that’s something the Gods can take and stuff up their sacred recta. I know what I am.”
Skitch totally gets Wanda into Animal Crossing. They mostly just liked it for the fishing and bug hunting, but Wanda? Oh she loves the customization.
I can see Skitch playing Animal Crossing casually and then showing it to Wanda one day like, "check this out really quick" and her getting stuck on all the villagers and ambience they're passing by trying to get to the museum.
"Yeah, my island started with those. I need to get rid of these weeds tho."
*realizes that their standing in a cluster of weeds and not tall grass* "why are there so many???"
---
I wanna say that Skitch's island is well looked-after and they are pretty proud of how it's coming along, but things like weeds get overlooked sometimes. It's an "out of sight or of mind" kinda thing, but it never gets too egregious.
But this just spirals for Wanda after she decides to check the game out herself. I feel like her island is very aesthetic™️ and pretty maintained. Wanda also plays casually, but she keeps things in order. She needs to have peach trees, and she must have Shino on her island.
Wanda's assistant, Mandy, is also an avid player of AC, so I can see her giving Wanda tips and trading stuff often. I feel it in my heart of hearts.
Also, every time Skitch visits Wanda's island, they leave behind a little gift for her, probably by her house. This ranges from innocuous nonsense like a bag of weeds to something Wanda was actually looking for.
not you reminding me that I have ACNH on my switch- 😂
