"Christa... I felt the same. That it would have been better if I was never born at all. The world hated me just for existing. To give countless joy to many people, I gave up my life. But - when I did, I wished from the bottom of my heart. If someday I was given a second chance at life... This time. I would live for no one but myself!"
Ymir (left), convincing her beloved Cyrsta (right) to stop lowkey throwing herself into suicide missions to please the society that openly wish she'd never been born... because Ymir has spent her whole life hating herself for being Jewish "Aldean."
I'll admit, when I first saw this scene in Attack on Titan, I cried for like an hour, and had to process it for like a day. This show understands what it's like to go from a self-hating Jew trying to "pass" as goy, to learning to love yourself and live for those you love, despite the people who want you dead, better than most media I could name.

This Week in BL - just RELAX BL, you're stressing me out
Organized, in each category, by ones I'm enjoying most at the top. However, I've put quite a few on hold for travel reasons.
Oct 2023 Wk 3
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 10 of 12 - Boyfriends are cute boyfriends. Reconciliation with daddy and then major brother drama. How exciting. Gah but that closing scene, these two are such great actors!
Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 8 fin - A perfectly serviceable final episode. I did love the red Chinese-style wedding to go with the “hia.” Also, just a little Thai 'poke poke poke' at China.
Tumblr media
Final thoughts?
This is a nice addendum to Cutie Pie, but it’s relatively incomprehensible even if you’ve watched that previous installment. I can’t imagine it will make any sense at all if you haven’t. Frankly, the most impressive thing about this show was the makeup team. MaxNat give excellent chemistry, all the high heat is well done, and the friendships are adorable, even if the story is nonsensical. It’s fine, I’m relieved it was only 8 eps. I enjoyed it for the pair but I will probably never rewatch. A weak 8/10
My Universe (Sun iQIYI) Lucky Love ep 9 of 24 -Heartbroken (drunk) gay boy meets (fights) sister’s new chef. I love the femme bestie. Adorbs. This one seems pretty good actually. I like all the shots of Bangkok’s actual traffic. POV is a bit of a sad sack tho.
Tumblr media
Absolute Zero (Thai Weds iQIYI) ep 4 of 12 - There is something clever about this narrative in the way that they are each each other’s first and second loves, but also age gap kinda creepy (Thailand maybe leave this one for Japan?)
Venus in the Sky (Tues iQIYI) 8 of 10 eps - So much whiny gay drama babies. However, it also manages to be painfully slow, through the simple act of having 90% of the show be boys sitting around staring at their phones. Then it suddenly got way higher heat than I expected. Honestly, this could’ve ended at 8 sps. I don’t see how extending the show is going to improve it in any way.
Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 11 of 12 (not a BL but I'm watching it anyway) - I don’t have faith in any couple. One of my favorite things about this show is watching how many boys Mark can kiss. I know everyone is focusing on Neo, but seriously baby boy got game. Meanwhile Boston’s dick must be made of self-lubing steal pipe; I remain entirely uninterested is TopMew; Mew’s fam demonstrate why a gay boy should never take advice from straight women; and the slut-shaming agenda continues. NO SINGING. No character in this show is happy when Boeing turns up, but the rest of us trash-loving muckrakers are thrilled.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
If It’s With You AKA Even If I Fall In Love With You AKA Kimi to nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo’ (Japan Gaga) ep 3 of 5 - Oh it is so cute and so sweet and so aching. I really did not want the confession to happen, even though I knew it had to. There is an element of torture to this one that only Japan can execute with such precise softness.
You Are Mine (Taiwan Fri Viki) eps 7 of 10 - I remain charmed. But while the me of 2018 would have thought this one of the best BLs ever, the me of now is finding it a bit dated and nostalgic.
Bon Appetit (Korea Weds iQIYI) 7-8fin - Romance between an office worker and the man from his past next door who cooks well. It was a very sweet and cute tale of food as love in the All the Liquors family of KBL. I’m not wild about it, I did enjoy it, I was happy to have it show up on my dash, but ultimately it will simply become one of the KBL crowd. 8/10
Kiseki: Dear to Me (Taiwan Tues Viki & iQIYI) ep 10 of 13(?) - another one where they are separated for most of the show. Although the sides are giving win.
Bump Up Business (Korea Gaga) 1-2 of 8 - from Idol Romance staring OnlyOneOf's Nine & Mill, this released as a movie in July in SK but is now being recut/reissued as a series. Love story between a trainee who is about to debut and a celebrity plagued by scandal. After that OmegaX Shoulder bullshizz business I am very wary of this show, but this pair is already better cast.
Tumblr media
Out of the mouths of OnlyOneOf (!!!) babes...
As to the show? I don’t know. I mean I love the idea, am nervous about Korea (with that bubble) doing a meta critique of the BL industry, with K-pop idols, using an existing group. It just seems like there’s a lot of mines in this small field, and it could go horribly horribly wrong. I am enjoying it, but also anxious the whole time I’m watching it for culture/market reasons. That said, I did pretty much ask for this exact show. So I can't complain, now can I?
Mr Cinderella 2 (Vietnam Sat YT) ep 5 of ? - I honestly don’t entirely understand what is going on. But it all seems to be the Psychotic Pretty Kitty’s fault. Oo caught in the act of drug-induced cheating - DRAMA. Dung should cut his losses and leave - cute doctor husband or not. Lovely kiss from the sides. I gotta say, this cast is hella pretty. I’m not mad that this team is kind of turning into GMMTV Vietnam.
Tumblr media
It's Airing But...
I Feel You Linger in the Air (Fri grey) ep 8 of 12 - I will try to watch 8-12 and do a series review when I get back in November but... not sure I will be able to. Fingers crossed.
Love in Translation (Sat iQIYI) ep 8fin - completed, my final thoughts in Nov.
What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - I find this series more fun to binge, so I'm waiting until it completes its run.
Tumblr media
I Cannot Reach You AKA I Can't Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai (Japan Tues Netflix-Japan & ????) - in classic JBL fashion, I Cannot Reach You could not be reached.
Can I Buy Your Love From A Vending Machine? AKA Sono Koi, Jihanki de Kaemasu ka? (Japan cinema release in-country only) - This one is a movie from Japan so in customary fashion who tf knows when (or if) it will get international distribution. Salaryman Ayumu Koiwai just can't tear his eyes away from the strong, muscular man as he checks on the stocks of the vending machine in his office.
One Room Angel (Japan Gaga) - Yukinori, a convenience store clerk was accidentally stabbed by a thug and nearly died. He returns home to find an angel waiting for him. The drama is an adaptation based on Harada’s manga of the same name (which I did not like). With only five episodes and a good chance this won’t end happily, I am going to wait and let you tell me how it goes. Binge it when it is complete if it's safe.
Tumblr media
In Case You Missed It
GMMTV posted their initial 2024 line up, here's my round up of the BLs. It includes 2 JBL adaptations, 2 KBL adaptations (that they aren't admitting to) and vampires. If you want to know how I did on the predictions that's here and the answer is: very badly indeed.
I am watching the Y Journey: Stay Like a Local series. But they are essentially tourist board long-form advertisements. I enjoy the promo aspect with regards to the food. And seeing some of my favorite pairs do interesting other things is kinda fun. But the whole thing feels disingenuous when gay marriage is still not legal and it’s essentially the Thai government (making these ads) who is stopping that from happening. I have a similar feeling to iQIYI as a content provider. It’s not queerbaiting in the original sense of the term, but it’s pretty gross to use gay for advertising with a nationalistic propaganda agenda, when being gay is still not legal in your country. Yes I struggle to reconcile myself with this on the regular, and it’s an ongoing hypocritical struggle for my tiny withered tired old heart.
Tumblr media
All that said, this week's installment, He’s Not Happy, did make me want to rewatch Make a Wish. There’s no kissing in this series but JudoFluke kiss beautifully, so If you haven’t seen Make a Wish, it’s very good and I recommend tracking it down.
Next Week Looks Like This
Tumblr media
Upcoming October BL
10/26 My Dear Gangster Oppa (Thai iQIYI) 8 eps - nerd retreats from the world into an online game and makes friends with a little group, they meat in real life, one of them is hot, they fall in love, hottie turns out to be a gangster. Trailer
10/31 SHADOW (Thai Gaga) - this is a horror BL featuring ghosts and other paranormal elements in a high school setting. I'm not wild about Thai horror (or horror at all). It features Singto (who did paranormal BL He's Coming to Me) opposite Fluke N (who's done a couple horror's before). Also Fiat. Dan suffers from sleep paralysis, and in his dreams he sees a shadow that suffocates him. It gets worse when he transfers schools.
2023 forthcoming BL master post (see comments, some are inaccurate, NOT KEPT UPDATED).

The University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (UWM) on Thursday repealed suspensions levied against five pro-Hamas student groups after determining that a series of threats they issued to Zionist Jews over the summer were not “true” threats warranting forfeiture of First Amendment protections.
As The Algemeiner has previously reported, a coalition of groups led by one which calls itself UWM Popular University for Palestine proclaimed in July that “we will no longer normalize genocidal extremists walking on our campus” and that “any organization or entity that supports Israel is not welcome at UWM. This includes the local extremist groups such as Hillel, Jewish Federation, etc.”
Reiterating its first point, the group continued, “We refuse to normalize extremists and extremist groups walking around our campus. We are watching Israel’s legitimacy and international recognition fall to pieces on the world stage. Any organization that has not separated themselves from Israel will be treated accordingly as extremist criminals. Stay tuned.”
In a statement that was not endorsed by the signature of Chancellor Mark Mone, UWM said it is charged daily with balancing competing imperatives, those of protecting both civil rights and free speech. In this case, the university explained, it prioritized the latter.
“Free speech is a fundamental right that UWM is obligated to uphold,” the university said. “At the same time, under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, UWM is responsible for ensuring an educational environment free from discrimination and harassment, which is why UWM concluded that the social media posts did not meet the very high bar under the First Amendment to constitute the legal definition of a true threat, which is a recognized exception to First Amendment protection.”
It continued, “Over the past several months, members of the UWM administration have been in communication with impacted organizations, offering support and safety information. UWM also launched a campaign to educate the campus community about the First Amendment and behavior expectations regarding protests on campus. UWM is continuing to monitor protests and other expressive activities to ensure that individuals and organizations comply with the law and our conduct codes.”
UWM is not the only institution which has refused to take the coalition’s threats seriously. The local district attorney has also said that UWM Popular University for Palestine’s comments are protected by the First Amendment, according to the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, which also sought help from the FBI. However, UWM has previously been accused of failing to protect its Jewish community.
Since the Palestinian terror group Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre across southern Israel, it has emboldened the radical anti-Zionist groups operating on its campus, according to a paper by UWM political science professor Shale Horowitz.

Thanks for the tag, @kiwiana-writes! I swear I meant to do this earlier than, y'know, today, but uh. (gestures at Mother Nature)
The tag... she is open. Do your thing, if you want!
Writing Round-Up: there are no rules, but the general idea is this: give a summary of everything you published in the calendar year.
I basically had to summarize my summaries here. Do you know how much I hate writing summaries? Do you? I always use a quote from my fic as the summary for a reason. 😂
January
Nothin'.
February
Nada.
March
Zilch.
April
Still no.
May
What, you thought there'd be something here?
June
You probably know the answer to this one.
July
No.
August
I watched the RWRB movie, after having read the book a year or more before. Things began to mentally percolate.
September
I read literally every completed RWRB fic rated E or M on AO3... and then remembered Kinktober was a thing, and, for the first time in a dozen years...

I am unsure how to speak about Palestine. People keep telling me they fired first and my google searches are very bad
Hey, glad you sent in this ask! People who claim that Palestine initiated the firing view October 7th as an isolated event, when we cannot treat it as such. Oct 7 comes as a response to a 75 year colonization. Just like Hamas was founded in 1987 during the First Intifada- a series of civilian protests, where Palestinians threw stones at soldiers, and were met by a disproportionate and liberal use of force as described by a Humans Rights Watch report.
How could Palestine fire first when Hamas was created in direct response to the displacement and colonization that Palestinians faced? Hamas wouldn't have existed if Israel didn't murder, unlawfully imprison, torture and displace Palestinians. Oct 7 wasn't an isolate incident, every action implicates a reaction and every occupation leads to a resistance.
The west claims that Israel has a right to defend itself, leading in two months alone to the mass and brutal murder of 16.000+ civilians. But Palestine cannot defend itself against its colonizers (Just like Ukraine has done for example against Russia, a resistance backed by the American and European powers alike?)
I urge you to read about all the massacres Israel committed against Palestinians prior to Oct 7, so you'd understand better that Palestine did not fire first. Israel did not even exist prior to 1948 for Palestine to attack it.
And, let's be honest for a second. If someone comes into your home, forces you out of it, destroys it, murders everyone you know, denies you of your most basic rights, unlawfully imprisons you, tortures you physically and psychologically, destroys your land and hinders your agriculture and destroys your libraries and erases your culture, would you not resist? Would you stay silent? Of course not, and Palestinians shouldn't be dehumanized and killed for it.
Now for your second point, I'm glad you brought that up because western media is very very biased. To give you some examples, here is a Washington Post headline about four premature babies that died, decomposing on their hospital beds in Al-Nasr Hospital, in northern Gaza. They were left in the prenatal care after Israel threatened doctors to bomb the hospital if they didn't evacuate it.
"Four fragiles lives found ended"
Tumblr media
Who ended them? Why were they in that situation to begin with? Who was behind their tragic murder? The journalist behind this post deliberately chose this title to avoid pointing the blame to Israel. In fact, the entire article doesn't directly nor clearly state the reason behind this slow and torturous death. When those four babies would not have died IF Israel didn't threaten to bomb their hospital, forcing everyone to evacuate.
We as journalists learn that the 5Ws are the essential key elements that form the basis of any article : who? where? when? what? how/why? Israel should be clearly denounced as the one responsible of those deaths, especially considering that it's a war crime underneath the Geneva convention.
Let's take another example. Pay attention to elusive langage and the way media skirts around words, using euphemisms to redirect the blame. Palestinians "die"- as if passing away due to natural causes, as if there wasn't a clear intent to murder them. Whereas Israelis are "killed"- deliberately targeted. This double standard already shows you that the media you're reading from is heavily biased.
Tumblr media
We journalists also learn that headlines are very very important, especially on social media where most people get their information strictly by reading the headlines and sharing it, without bothering to check the entirety of the article. Now, here's an example of a misleading headline by BBC.
Tumblr media
At first read this looks like confirmed accounts of rape. Anyone who reads it would think that it has been proven irrevocably, but let's look more into the article :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of the rape accusations were verified, neither by the police or the journalists of BBC. All of these are alleged claims that have no tangible backing, and yet they were presented as factual in the headline, the most important part of any article that catches the attention of readers. By formulating the headline as such, BBC pre-establishes the premise that Hamas did rape women and that it has been proven. This is the information that most people would retain as they wouldn't bother reading the article. This is how propaganda starts and how false news are shared widely (remember the story of the 40 beheaded babies debunked by the IDF itself?)
Always look out for the langage and terminology the media uses. It is not coincidental, it is deliberate and it serves the interests/editorial line of the media. And you can speak up about Palestine by denouncing the genocide they're facing. If you can read about 16.000+ deaths, most of which are children, if you can see images of hospitals, refugee camps, schools, ambulances, houses, "safe routes" bombed by Israel and still be unsure of your stance, then i don't know what to tell you.

(May 28, 2024 / JNS)
During World War II, a series of documentary films were made, directed by Frank Capra, that set out in explicit and graphic detail the precipitating causes and reasons why the United States entered the war to defeat the Axis powers, including Nazi Germany.
Before Imperial Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, many Americans were beset by doubts about the war. Even after Nazi Germany declared war on Washington on Dec. 11, 1941, there were still those who did not know or understand why it was so important for America to be involved.
Nazi propaganda had been hard at work for years dulling American sensibilities and outright lying to the American people to justify the Nazis’ evil deeds. The chief architect of this reprehensible propaganda program was Joseph Goebbels. His dictums included, “Accuse the other of that which you are guilty” and “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
The Capra documentaries were a clarion call that awoke Americans to the danger posed by Nazi Germany and catalyzed a nation to fight and defeat the Axis. I saw the documentaries when I was a young student. They left a lasting impression on me regarding the battle between good and evil and the imperative not to be complicit by idly standing on the sidelines.
The genocidal terror group Hamas, the spiritual successor to the Nazis, is intent on eliminating the Jewish people and Israel. It has falsely accused Jews and Israel of genocide in a moral inversion that channels the evil techniques of the notorious Goebbels.
The massively funded and premeditated barrage of antisemitic slurs and slogans, including the “genocide” blood libel, is poisonous to the minds of many college students and other ignorant useful dupes. They now suffer from a malady I call the “Goebbels Syndrome.” Much like the original syndrome, the cure is plain-spoken, sobering and graphic truth like that featured in the Capra-directed documentaries of yesteryear.
In this regard, the apprehensions expressed by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) at the recent congressional hearings on campus antisemitism are telling. She complained bitterly about what she referred to as vile and disturbing footage on large screens. She was referring to the video footage taken by the Hamas rapists, kidnappers, murderers and perpetrators of sadistic atrocities on Oct. 7. She did not condemn the terrorists and their evil deeds.
It would appear that Hamas’s amen chorus is worried about having to face the truth of their evil deeds and intentions. The recently released horrifying video of the confessions of a Hamas father and son, who on Oct. 7, together with a cousin, gang-raped a woman and murdered her is nearly impossible to watch. So is the video depicting a group of handcuffed young women kidnapped on Oct. 7 being referred to as sex slaves by their disgusting Hamas captors. But these videos ignited the moral conscience of many.
To the hideous Oct. 7 deniers and others suffering from the Goebbels Syndrome: Watch these videos and end your moral malaise.
Efforts to propagate false narratives are failing because the truth is coming out and it will triumph. The overwhelming majority of the American people are not buying into the propaganda generated by Hamas and American supporters.
The good people of America are waking up and rejecting the evil that is Hamas and its repugnant sponsor the terrorist Iranian regime. Some 79% of Americans polled in the latest Harvard-Harris poll rightly support Israel in the war started by Hamas. 69% correctly believe Israel is seeking to minimize civilian casualties. 78% agree that Hamas must be eliminated. 74% favor Israel proceeding with its Rafah operation and finishing off Hamas. The poll also showed a nuanced understanding of what a ceasefire means to the American people. 66% oppose a ceasefire unless the hostages are released and Hamas is removed from power.
Interestingly, even the International Court of Justice didn’t wholly buy Hamas’s propaganda. It didn’t outright order a halt in military operations in Rafah. Its order stated that Israel should “immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah Governorate, which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.”
Thus, the order was qualified and may be interpreted to apply only to those military operations in Rafah that may inflict such “conditions of life” on the Palestinians. In essence, Israel can continue with military operations so long as Israel complies with international law, which Israel is doing anyway. It is reported that a number of the ICJ judges support this interpretation.
It’s time for Israel to enlist a prominent Hollywood director like Steven Spielberg to make a documentary that uses documentary footage of the horrible events of Oct. 7 to explain why Israel is fighting the evil that is Hamas.
Israel is winning its just and legal defensive ground war against Hamas. It can win the PR war, too.

The next generation is often leaving the faith while under the supervision of parents who believe they’re passing on their religious values.
When church leaders imagine young people turning away from Christianity, they may picture a college student being convinced by an atheist professor or an older high schooler getting a driver’s license and using their newfound freedom to leave church behind. In reality, the secularization of the next generation may look more like a 14-year-old watching YouTube in their room.
New analysis published at the Institute for Family Studies (IFS) reveals children born in the 1980s and ’90s never absorbed the faith in their home. And they walked away from it at an earlier age than most parents and leaders suspect.
In the early 1990s, no more than 16% of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders said religion was not important to them at all, according to the Monitoring the Future survey series. By the early 2000s, however, the percentage of high school seniors who completely dismissed the importance of religion to them personally began to increase dramatically.
For close to a decade, sophomores were more like 8th graders, with both hovering around 15%. But around 2010, 10th graders became more like 12th graders in terms of their disregard for religion. A few years later, the percentage of 8th graders who said religion is not at all important began to rapidly increase.
In the latest study, close to 30% of seniors and sophomores and almost 25% of 8th graders said they didn’t consider religion to have any importance.
When does secularization happen?
One explanation for this could be fewer parents saying religion is important to them. More secular parents may be passing on their lack of faith to their children. But the IFS analysis also looked at a 2019 Pew Research study that asked both children and parents about the importance of religion.
At age 13, there is little difference between the percentage of teenagers who self-report that religion is not at all important and the percentage of parents who say religion is not important to their child. A gap emerges at 14. This gap is sizeable by 15 when more than 20% of teenagers say religion is not at all important.
There’s no real increase in secularization among teenagers after they reach 15. The shift away from religion occurs before then. Meanwhile, parents’ perception stays flat across the age range at around 10-15% who say religion is unimportant for their child.
Additionally, the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY) followed the religious affiliation of those born between 1980-86 until around age 30. “Of NLSY respondents surveyed at age 13, around 12% were nonreligious. By age 17, 17% were nonreligious,” reported research fellow Lyman Stone in the IFS report.
“Religious affiliation wasn’t surveyed for a few young adult years, but then by age 21, about 21-23% of these young people were nonreligious, a share that has been essentially unchanged until today. In other words, this cohorts’ rise in secularism occurred by age 21, and much of it by age 17.” Yet, only 7% of parents report raising their children with no religion between the ages of 13-17.
Stone concludes that “most nonreligious children are born into religious households and lose their faith while under the supervision of parents who believe that they are successfully transmitting their religious values.”
Sweet 16
Similarly, the most recent Lifeway Research study of teenage church dropouts found 66% of those who attended a U.S. Protestant church regularly for at least a year also stopped attending for at least a year as a young adult. Similarly to the IFS analysis, teenagers often begin their religious separation prior to their college years.
Sixteen is often a pivotal age for those dropping out of church. At that age, the attendance rates start to diverge for those who stay in church as adults and those who drop out. The next few years become the church dropout danger zone when most teenagers leave behind regular church involvement.

What's your take on the settlements in the West Bank though?
Short answer: arrrrggghhhh
Longer answer:
I wrote and deleted a whole thing when I found this video of the history that I think it worth watching because it helps people visualize what's going on and how entangled Palestinian and Jewish settlements are. It's part of a series, and the whole thing is worth watching if you want to familiarize yourself with the basics although I think it has a bias and omits consideration of some of the bigger strategic aspects at play.
youtube
Politically, the West Bank is a jumble of ideas about people, power and land and all the ways these can be combined. There are several possible outcomes of the current conflict: a single state, a single state with enclaves, or 2 independent states. A state could be Jewish, Muslim, or secular with a spectrum of population and power balances. All of these options vary in popularity. Like any good foreigner, I favor a solution that is locally unpopular on both sides - a 2 state solution. And I think the idea of an international force running Jerusalem is pretty good too. The '2 states for 2 peoples' camp did gain ground in the early aughts though, so it may still take effect.
The West Bank settlers tend to be one of 3 types:
religious zealots who want all of Judea and Samaria for Jews because God gave it to them
Israelis looking for cheap housing and a subsidized quality of life as long as there are enough guards to ensure they feel secure
Americans who want to recreate the Wild West feeling but with Judaism (not kidding, they're a sizeable and loud chunk of this group)
The proportions wax and wane depending on government support. If Israel doesn't support a settlement with infrastructure and armed guards, the more radical elements populate it. But subsidies have also drawn in people for more prosaic reasons. You don't need to be too religious or radical, just confident that one day this land that exists outside of Israel's national boundaries (but has occupied since 1967) will be yours because it's not like anyone else might want it... wait, that is radical isn't it? Which is why I hate the idea of these settlements.
The process of radicalization happens on both sides, and I don't think people realize that this is a central aspect of the conflict. I hear commentary that Israel's campaign in Gaza will breed an entire new generation of radicals, but little thought is apparently given to the impact Hamas' attack had on Israelis. By targeting civilians and killing indiscriminately - even notable peace activists like Vivian Silver - it gives more radical Israelis justification for an increasingly hardline stance. The intense antisemitism of the Islamist movements fuels increasingly anti-Arab sentiment and actions. Few Israelis will look at the Oct 7 attacks and think these are people they want to live next door to. That is the desired effect of terrorism, after all - to strike terror into your heart. The reactionary rage comes later.
A notable feature in this conflict is that more moderate people are neutralized - often violently - by extremists on their own side. Signing a peace treaty with Israel has been hazardous to the health of multiple high-ranking officials. Hamas splintered from the PA because the PA made compromises with Israel, and if Hamas gets torn down, the PIJ is waiting in the wings with even harsher, hardline politics. Moderates in Israel have been pushed aside by increasingly right-wing governments. Any attempts at compromise are met with radicals who try to supplant moderates in power, or test the limits and will of those in power. So, the West Bank settlers are to Netanyahu what the PIJ are to Hamas. After Oct 7, WB settlers had easy access to retaliate against their Arab neighbours and, in turn, we see growing support for Hamas over the PA in the West Bank among Arabs as life sours as the conflict boils over. And so over time those currently in power are one step more radical than those who came before, and they are in turn under pressure from those who are a step beyond.
The West Bank faction don't just take action in the West Bank, they're the same faction that pushed for Israel to declare itself a specifically 'Jewish homeland' in 2018, which was a slap in the face for Arab Israelis and shifts Israel away from democratic values and toward a religious nation state, which makes peace ever more elusive. (Vox suprisingly has a fairly informative article explaining why people are critical of this move.)
So how do the settlers ruin the prospects for peace? The boundaries of Israel have shifted, mostly expanding outward, following numerous wars in the region. The borders of 1948 and 1967 aren't the same. And Palestinians are left negotiating for less and less land with every iteration. Now... Israel has largely fought defensive wars and it's not uncommon for the winning side to seize disputed territory when they've won the war. However, the Oslo accords carve out the West Bank to an almost uninhabitable degree for Palestinians living there. Maintaining enough security for Jewish settlers means operating under military law, with checkpoints and restricted roads that make economic development impossible. This is largely a result of settler actions, forcing the Israeli government to include them in their negotiations. One look at a map demonstrates how convoluted any separation would be. Settlers have, in essence, used the Palestinian tactic of refusing to declare their statehood to their advantage.
For anyone confused about how this works, Palestine has never and does not exist as a state. It has 'leaders' and 'de facto leaders' but not a president. Palestinian might, roughly, define a group of people, but Palestine isn't a real place you can find on a map. This has served groups like the PLO very well. By refusing to accept statehood, or even accept Israel as a state, or even accepting the war of 1948 is over... they are hard to pin down in negotiations. Thus their hopes that they can somehow win a better settlement in the future is kept alive. But it also means that settlers can move into the West Bank because it's not the country of Palestine, it's not anything, it's just Israeli occupied territory that is currently under dispute.
The kindest interpretation of this view I can give is 'if Arabs can live on Israeli land then why can't Jews live on Arab land'. Israel at some points has encouraged this settlement process, but is starting to find it expensive to police and politically limiting. It showed up as a major issue in the Abraham accords, with a proposed land swap for alternate territory to be given to Palestine in order to prevent the unpopular move of having to relocate several hundred thousand Israelis. But of course the land swap idea isn't popular either.
Personally, if Palestine decided to declare its independence along the green line - I'd support that move. I think Israel should as well and signal to its settlers that they would need to decide whether they want to relocate or live under a Palestinian government. Now, if a strictly Muslim state is going be created by hardliners, this won't work well, but if Israel can live with a 20% Muslim population then why can't Palestine live with a 20% Jewish population? Well, I know why... but I still don't think peace needs to be delayed because a bunch of people decided to ignore international law.

“Love, family and the world of ranching”: Heartland’s core values hold strong
Entering its 17th season, Heartland is now the longest-running TV drama in Canadian history
Heartland celebrated its 250th episode, bringing global audiences together.
“I love that we can share what we do across the world,” said Michelle Morgan, who plays Lou on the show.
Heartland, known for its family-friendly content, premiered its 17th season opener at the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) on Sept. 28, 2023, making it the longest-running one-hour Canadian drama.
Arely Zavala, alongside her mother, Santa Olmedo, said that they’ve been fans since they started watching the series in its first season when they lived back home in Mexico. After moving to Calgary in 2008, their love for Heartland only continued to grow.
“When we moved here, we watched every time [a new] season comes out,” said Zavala.
Zavala and Olmedo have attended similar Heartland events since moving to Calgary, but their most memorable Heartland experience was when Olmedo ran into Morgan at Costco.
Olmedo said that she was surprised to learn that Morgan came from a Latin background and has had many warm exchanges with the actress since.
“When we attended other events, [Michelle] expressed herself like my family,” said Zavala.
On the red carpet, Morgan recognized the family immediately and spoke greetings to them in Spanish.
“My family is Latin American and I love that the show is embraced in Latin America,” said Morgan. “It’s huge for my parents, it means so much to them that their family can enjoy it.”
Capturing the true essence of Albertan ranch life and family commitment, Heartland has always stayed true to three core values.
Shaun Johnston plays Jack Bartlett, the grandfather of Amy and Lou on the show. Jack is often referred to as an iconic character but Johnston said that the true icon is the show itself.
“The message that we send is universal. It transcends all these different cultures [and] all these different languages,” said Johnston. “The fact that it’s as popular in those places as it is here is a monumental undertaking… I think it is a testament to how good we make the show.”
What has kept the show running for 17 years?
“The people on the show are like my family, the cast and crew are like my family,” said Morgan.
Not only does Heartland convey a family-orientated message on screen, but it can also be seen in the personal relationships of cast members off-screen. Johnston said that his favourite memory from 17 years of filming has been watching the cast grow up.
“I got to watch these people go from youngsters into young adults and beautiful people,” said Johnston.
“I protected them from the business while we were working together and now they protect me because I’m old and I need protection,” said Johnston laughing.
Morgan also explained that the show has given her to opportunity to grow in the film industry as she has taken on roles behind the camera, directing for the past four seasons.
What to look forward to in season 17
Both Morgan and Johnston said that fans can expect to see some beloved character return to the screen but most of all, “You get all the good things about Heartland… all the characters in their glory,” said Johnston.
Those who didn’t attend the CIFF World Premiere will be able to watch the first episode of season 17 on CBC Gem and CBC TV on Oct. 1, 2023 at 7 p.m.

“That’s like a billion dollars in Indiana.” That quip from Bobby Axelrod is one of the memorable lines in the series finale of “Billions,” the Showtime drama series that wrapped its seven-season run Oct. 27 with the crowd-pleasing episode “Admirals Fund.” Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis, delivers that line as he takes a victory lap after demolishing his latest foil, rival hedge fund manager Mike Prince (Corey Stoll). It’s a reference to that fact that Prince, after an elaborate sting pulled off by Axelrod and the core “Billions” ensemble, is left wiped out but for $100 million he invested with Black-owned banks a few years ago. Axe’s comment and Prince’s broad smile suggest that the latter is headed to the Midwest to nurse his wounds and rise anew. The line about Indiana had been on a white board in the “Billions” writers room for more than two seasons, just waiting for the right moment to land a punch, according to co-showrunner and executive producer Beth Schacter. Schacter and series creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien offered insights into the crafting of the finale and the fate of key characters during a Q&A held Oct. 23 at 92Y in New York that included a sneak peek screening of the finale. “We knew that was where we were driving to and it never came off the board — and that never happens,” Schacter told moderator Cynthia Littleton, co-editor in chief of Variety. “And so I think it’s just fun to see that all coalescing” in the final episode.
Season 7 was designed to provide payoffs and fist-pumping moments for the die-hard fans of the series that revolved around the antics of hedge fund managers and the regulators who try to rein in their excesses. That sector of the financial universe has only grown its influence on the macro economy as well as in pop culture since “Billions” bowed in January 2016. “We made a decision early on that we were going to make this season of the show for true ‘Billions’ fans – for the people who watch each episode more than once, who catch our references, who notice every song,” Koppelman said. “We wanted to make the final season that we wanted to see as ‘Billions’ obsessives. Seeing you all get the little lines and jokes and the moments and feeling the emotional resonances is incredibly satisfying.”
Getting the show to the finish line was complicated by the writers strike that extended nearly five months. The script for the final episode was completed before scribes went pencils down on May 2. But none of the three showrunners on stage were able to be on set while the final episodes were lensed. “It was horrible because, you know, we did seven seasons over the course of eight years. We had to take an entire year off during the pandemic. And then to have to stop short and not get to be there for the final lap was really tough,” Levien said. The trio found great comfort in the fact that the finale, penned by Koppelman and Levien, was directed by Neil Burger, who helmed the pilot and one other episode, from Season 2. “Neil knew exactly the right tone of the show, so it worked out great,” Levien said. Koppelman observed, “Sometimes a worthy fight calls for a great sacrifice and ours was a small one compared to the ones that crews and so many other people had to make.” The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has added to the challenge of promoting the finale given that stars Lews, Paul Giamatti (Chuck Rhoades), Maggie Siff (Wendy Rhoades), David Costabile (Mike “Wags” Wagner), Asia Kate Dillon (Taylor Mason) and more were unable to talk up their work.
The showrunners noted that they always made an effort to tap into any unexpected skills that each actor brought to the show. Lewis, for one, is a strong tennis player, so of course they worked that into an episode where he plays against Maria Sharapova. Toby Leonard Moore, the Australian actor who played the disgraced (but ultimately redeemed) former federal prosecutor Brian Connerty, once worked as an teppanyaki chef – a role that figured prominently into the finale episode. “When you make a long-running show, you learn a lot of stuff about people and their personal lives, like Dola Rashad is fluent in Italian, so she had to speak Italian at some point,” Levien said. “Toby Leonard Moore made the mistake of telling us that he worked his way through school once as a teppanyaki chef. And we did not forget that — we carried that around for years.” Added Koppelman, “You have never seen a human being care more about the way a shrimp was cut than [Moore] did. He obsessed over the rehearsals with the hibachi.”
The specific storyline for the final season – how Axe was brought back to the U.S. from exile in London and the climactic sting against Prince – came together mostly during Season 6, Levien said. Lewis left the series after the close of Season 5 as his wife, actor Helen McCrory, suffered through a long illness before her death in April 2021. When Lewis let them know he was ready to return for Season 7, that set the plot in motion. “Damian told us before anyone else knew what was going on [with McCrory]. And we knew we were able to say to him, of course and we will bring stuff forward and we will make it all work for season five,” Koppelman said. “But then the three of us and teams of writers sat around and figured out OK, these two seasons — six and seven — what’s the ideal way that it can go? And the fact that we ended up getting to do it in the ideal way that Showtime supported shooting in England, each piece of that was able to work.”
One of the long-running subplots on “Billions” was the will-they-or-won’t-they question of the relationship between Axe and Wendy Rhoades, the brilliant psychologist who was the in-house coach for the alpha traders at Axe Capital (and later Michael Prince Capital). The characters have an incredibly deep relationship – one that confounds their own spouses – but they are not in a sexual relationship. Schacter argued that the two are deeply in love. “It’s not platonic. It’s incredibly romantic. They just don’t kiss,” Schacter said. “The secret sauce of the two of them is that they are truly connected in their souls. It’s just not sexual. They do have a certain type of love affair.” She noted that even some writers on the show mistakenly thought that Axe and Wendy had been in a physical relationship at some point. “Writers pitched it to us all the time. But we felt from the beginning that we had decided it wasn’t going to happen, because then how do you keep the show going,” Koppelman said. “It also felt like they each understood what it was about. They understood that it made them better. They didn’t want to give in to that, it’s part of Wendy’s strength.”
Other highlights from the hourlong conversation: Dan Soder, who played trader Dudley Mafee, was one of three finalists for the Connerty role that went to Moore. Soder at the time was still working restaurant jobs. Koppelman and Levien vowed to write a role for him that would debut after the pilot – assuming the show was picked up. “We wrote two lines for Mafee in the second episode and Dan came in and destroyed them and then he was off and running,” Koppelman said. The only other role that was specifically written for an actor was the supporting character of Rian, the mouthy Axe Capital trader played by Eva Victor. Victor was also one of very few actors allowed to improvise on the show. No series has ever showcased as many New York eateries – posh and popular – as “Billions.” It was a decision that came early on in the series as so much of business happens over drinks and food. “The restaurant placement in the show was organic because we recognized that what restaurants you could get into and what table you could get was a sign of your power and your access in New York,” Levien said. “And then if you go one step further into the billionaire realm, you could buy out a restaurant.” Schacter added that the actors usually enjoyed the dining scenes, particularly Costabile. “There is no greater on-screen eater than Mr. David Costabile,” she said. Other than the core stars Lewis, Giamatti and Siff, the only other actor to have a line in all 84 episodes of the series was Daniel K. Isaac, who played trader Ben Kim. “Billions” was also known for its deft use of music to help propel the storylines. Led Zeppelin proved to be one of the hardest bands to license, but they made it happen with “In the Evening” for a Season 4 episode. Koppelman noted that every season has included one Bob Dylan song, including “Blind Willie McTell” from Episode 8 of Season 7. The showrunners gave a final nod to the former Showtime executives who greenlighted and supported “Billions”: David Nevins and Amy Israel (who have reunited at Peter Chernin’s North Road Co.) and Gary Levine. The pioneering pay TV outlet has undergone quite a bit of change during the course of “Billions” (it’s now been merged with streamer Paramount+) but the showrunners never felt abandoned. “Showtime has been incredibly supportive the entire time of this show,” Koppelman said.

Wind Walker Part 1  / Part 2 by onebizarrekai
RIP onebizarrekai
Windwalker is a comic that started in 2016, was completed by the time Being X read it in 2020 or 2021. It features Cross, Dream and Nightmare Sans with a page marker of "alot" in Being X's notes, probably indicating it's over 100 pages.
[Being X] Note: Also, it doesn’t have a super satisfying ending but the meta jokes are AMAZING.

This Week in BL
Oct 2022 Wk 4
Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying the most.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
My Only 12% (Fri iQIYI) 12 of 14 - Cake is reaping the consequences of having encouraged Eiw to become self-reliant. It means that Eiw has learned to stand up for himself, even against Cake. I get such Big Eden vibes from this show. Cake flirting with Eiw to tease Eiw’s friends. The English was… odd. But I don’t mind this kind of possessive boyfriend.
The Eclipse (Fri YT) 12 fin - The end did feel a little rushed. However I really can’t fault the acting in this drama, it was pretty darn flawless. This is a high school drama, so we expected (and got) a coming out sequence. But it was handled extremely well. I do love supportive parents. And for all their flaws, GMM TV is pretty solid on some decent parents. The low heat sex scene was really good too. The couples are very tender with each other in this show. It feels like the first half of this drama rested on Khao’s acting chops and the second half rested on First. In both cases, the actors remained entirely in control of the narrative, it’s just that First got shafted by the fact that his section of the narrative was curtailed. Still, all in all, it was a decent final episode and ending on verbal consent made me v happy. The blooper reel was great, too. 8/10 RECOMMENDED
Ghost Host, Ghost House (Weds YouTube) 4 of 8 - Mostly BL this ep, the big plot reveal, and a NICE family drama twist. I pleased. It is a bit creepy for me but I’m sticking with it for the couple. These two are so sweet with each other that they can’t even tease each other into aggressive intimacy they have to just back off into cuteness. Really good kissing and mid heat sex scene. Great physical intimacy and teasing communication (intellectual chemistry) and romantic feedback between the 2 actors. The characters make for great boyfriends. I liked this ep A LOT.
Tumblr media
Big Dragon (Sat Gaga) 4 of 8 - Now we get the family drama background character information. I’ve never wild about miscommunication as a plot device. It’s always just kind of annoying when it’s used as an excuse for baby to get pouty. I do love Big (P’Nine). I find him pretty charismatic. The show is messy, and normally I’m not wild about messy, but for some reason it’s working for me. It’s like it’s messy but the right way for a change.
Ai Long Nhai (Mon iQIYI) 5 of 10 - Was the shock at BBQ after Nahi got drunk because Ai slipped in a ha? (Household intimacy particle). Meanwhile Nhai = def gayer and more switchy when drunk. Nothing has happened, and nothing continues to happen. Yet I’m still watching.
Remember Me (Sun Gaga) 3 of 12 - Everyone leaving Name behind to go to college was so sad.
Love in the Air (Thurs iQIYI) 11 of 13 - I am so torn over this show but damn do these two give great sex scene. DUMPSTER FIRE TRASH WATCH ALONG HERE.
Hard Love Mission (Sat WeTV) 3 of 4 - didn’t seem to drop this week.
Work from Heart (Thurs YouTube) 6 of 7 - What a very strange show - the main couple gets together is shown by one of them dumping somebody else. The leads are good but the rest of the cast is pretty terrible and the script is straight up bonkers.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
My Tooth Your Love (Taiwan Fri Viki) 4 of 12 - I am LOVING this show. Very pleased with the whole cast and the performances. Plot is a little scattered, but that's Taiwan for you. Right now it kind of feels like About Youth grows up. Restaurant boy is so cute and animated (and broken and tortured) and the dentist likes him so much. Meanwhile, bartender daddy doesn't like a rude boy. Taiwan ALWAYS has to do the crash into me trope. It’s not love if one of them doesn’t stumble into the other.
Choco Milk Shake (Korea Strongberry Tues YT) 1-2 of 10 - OMG it’s wonderful so cute and very very actually funny. The actors playing the two pets much be having just the best time. As, indeed, am I. Could not be happier about this one.
Roommates of Poongduck 304 (Korea Thurs Viki) 5 of 8 - They are so damn cute as friends but also, fixing his tie = hello boyfriend. Plus totally flirting at work. Hair touches and hugs and everything. BOYS! Also protective boyfriend HoJun does not like his baby being taken advantage of - or the feeling of jealousy. (I hate HoJun’s weird pleated jacket though.) JaeYoon is having such a hard time tho.
Kabe Koji (Japan Mon Viki) 4 of 10 - Funny how Mamoru doesn't ever wanna talk, but for Issei he always says exactly the right thing. But also, what is actually happening on this show? Do I care?
Eternal Yesterday AKA Eien no Kino (Japan Thurs Gaga) 2 of 8 - I guess it’s good to have a stoic practical boyfriend- when you’re a zombie. This is a weird little show. It doesn’t make me so much sad as reflective and a little annoyed (how dare Japan only give us this lever of physical affection and this awesome of a couple dynamic when one of them is DEAD). It’s very Japanese and reserved, almost to the edge of darkly funny, but not. Do I like it? I’m not sure. But it’s engaging.
Tumblr media
It’s Airing But I’m Not Watching It
War of Y 20 eps - it’s just all too much for me.
My Roommate 32 eps of 2 minutes each + terrible production values? - I’m not bothering.
Fahlanruk (Sun GaGa) 12 eps - I cut my losses at ep 5. DNF
To Sir With Love AKA Khun Chai 28 eps - dito
2 Moons 3 Thai (Mon ??) 10 eps - Possibly a future binge watch. Rumor is it’s banal.
SELF (Thurs YT) - DNF
Love Bill  (Vietnam Sat YT) 1of ? - Bah Vinh is back but I’m too distracted. Also there’s a lot of fund raising and stuff going on. Thinking I’ll wait and binge.
Tumblr media
In Case You Missed It
Lin Yu (OuWen in Love is Science?) featured in a sad gay MV.
Speaking of BL MVs, here’s LOVE is RIGHT from Korea.
I did a full review of Takara & Amagi, spoiler I adored it. 9/10. I compared it to Seven Days, which is saying something.
Oh My Sunshine Night finished at 18 eps. Spies confirm it does not end sad but that it is quite the soap opera. It may be worth watching if you're like me and have a hot button skip forward inclination and like higher speeds. I’ll probably try to watch it before the end of the year. But I’m doing a UWMA rewatch right now and I don’t want to cross my OhmFluke streams.
Tumblr media
Next Week Looks Like This:
Tumblr media
Nov 2022 line up is pretty short, thank goodness, this is what I got:
Between Us (Sun iQIYI & YouTube) starts Nov 6 - trailer here. This is an adaptation of the novel Hemp Rope (spin off from UWMA/The Red Tread). The book tells WinTeam’s romance from the start, so we might get some recon/reboot action (like LBC2). Features one of Studio Wabi Sabi's most popular (and commercially viable) pairs BounPrem (Long Khong, You Never Eat Alone, Seven Project, Even Sun) with established (if inconsistent) BL director New (UWMA). Fluke (Pharm) and Ohm (Dean) are expected to reprise their roles from UWMA.
I Will Knock You (Tues Gaga) starts Nov 8 - A college student and part-time tutor confronts the leader of a gang who then turns out to be his next student. Bad boy/good boy + sunshine/grumpy + younger seme pairing, bully romance? Adapted from korean_rabbit's y-novel of the same name, directed by Champ (2gether) starring fresh faces.
My School President (?? GMMTV YT) initial trailer here - it’s Love Sick + Korea and Japan's influence. Yes, we’ve seen it all before, but this is me: I never met a high school BL I didn’t want to grant a fair shake and I love me some whipping boy. Interesting to see such an old fashioned trope having a bit of a renaissance right now. All fresh faces in this one except Aun (Folk from My Gear).
This week’s best moments?
Tumblr media
Ai is a man after my own heart.
Tumblr media
Your honor, please excuse me, I have a cat to adopt.
Tumblr media
Eternal Yesterday, this is how I feel about ghosts etc...
Tumblr media
Gonna have to add these two to the characters that wanna bone list. Look at the lust for those legs. Pluem wants them wrapped around him SO BAD. To be fair, Kawin does have lovely legs. (Ghost Host, Ghost House)
Tumblr media
Lip nibble!
Tumblr media
I love a hand kiss (LITA).
Tumblr media
It’s good, it’s bad, it’s good. This scene was hot. Sigh.

Rel., Sherlock/Sally Friendship, Grumpy John, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Pet Names, Texting, Sweet Sherlock, Princess Bride References) – John remains a terrible and foul-tempered patient, but he does try to make up for it with pet names and text message silliness. In the meantime, Sally Donovan visits Baker Street for a hint about the Milverton case, and has to deal with a Sherlock Holmes who can't find words big enough to thank her for saving John's life at the warehouse. For afters, there's a viewing of The Princess Bride. Part 33 of the Unkissed series
Living Musical by VeeTheRee (G, 4,149 w. 1 Ch. || Est. Rel., Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Domestic Fluff, Hobbies, Summer, Song Fic, POV Sherlock, Painting, Play Fighting, Soft Sherlock, Dancing, Love Declarations, Hair Petting, Promise of Forever) – A one-shot of John and Sherlock being domestic during summer. Mrs Hudson helps. Part 7 of I-J's Tumblr Ficlet Collection
You're a Doctor, Fix me by edken (K+, 8,792 w., 2 Ch. || Humour, Romance, Sick Sherlock) – Sherlock doesn't do anything halfway, and that includes getting sick. John nurses a very sick flatmate back to health using cuddles, forehead kisses, and a massage. Humor, and fluff promised as always, but also some character analysis because who doesn't love that?
To be loved by Strange_johnlock (E, 12,436 w., 8 Ch. || Post S3, Established Relationship, First Person POV Sherlock, Pet Names, Soft Sherlock, Mild ADHD, Protective John, Captain Watson, Body Appreciation, Bottomlock, Rough Sex, Travelling for Holidays, Introspection, Sherlock Loves John So Much It Hurts) – John is so deeply integrated into the work, both as my conductor of light, and as a great shot with a vicious right hook who tackles men -and women- no matter their size all in my defense. He protects me with all he can without question, and this loyalty is surely more than I deserve. Or: Sherlock is counting his blessings.

11 Oct 2022 “The Second Beginning of the World of Apocalypse, Dreamcatcher’s [Apocalypse: Follow us]”
Returning 6 months after MAISON and [Apocalypse: Save us] of April 2022, Dreamcatcher continues the story of their 2nd studio album with their 7th mini album, signalling a second beginning for the Apocalypse series. Previously, Dreamcatcher screamed “Save us, Save earth’, for the sake of the burning planet. They forshadowed a coming conflict, fighting against the major culprits destroying Earth. However, unlike what Dreamcatcher intended the conflict only accelerates the pain of the planet, prompting them to set forth a more peaceful solution.
A iron resolution that we should go together towards a shared path. Typhoons, watching us with gleaming eyes, the burning lands, the moon that threaten to swallow us with swelling waters. We are heading towards the end, as natural disasters reach new heights every year. We who hope for peace now stand in unison. Between the despair that keeps raining down and crushed hopes, the 7 members set their face towards the hope that shines through faintly. And we all stand behind them. Dreamcatcher offers a heartfelt declaration, persuasion, and a determined VISION to revive the planet of life.
The title track of the 7th mini album, VISION, signifies the future we face. Like the studio album that came before it, the song contains Dreamcatcher’s beliefs. The song builds upon a base of Dark Techno and adds richness with elements of Electronic sound. Kim Jun-won, member of the electronica band Glen Check, contributed to the song, giving it a quality finish. They also paid attention to the lyrics and performance. The B-sides ‘Fairytale’, ‘Some Love’, and ‘Rainy Day’ brings out the diverse musicality of the group.
