This might not be a regular rq u get but I’ve always imagined that if there was indeed a woman on the team, she’d be more of a (big)sister figure to the (younger)guys. Like she shows scout how to PROPERLY give flowers to Miss Pauling- how to cut and arrange them and stuff. Or like Pyro shows her a drawing they did of the two of them together and she’s like “it’s going on the fridge RIGHT NOW”. Maybe with the older, more mature ones, she’s just a sister in general, rough housing and playing around- but still being that sense of comfort. Ya feel? I don’t know. Thank you!!
An older sisterly merc?? sign me the fuck up. Imagine her scolding Pyro for eating dirt off the floor and accidentally rizzing Engineer because he’s into milfs or some shit. (Am I the only one who feels like Engineer is a milf guy?) Big booba from older lady make his neurons activate. that’s probably why his sorry ass helps the administrator stay alive. What a shameful fucking mama’s boy. If she punched him in the fucking face he’d instinctively thank her, followed by a cartoonish exchange: “WHAT?” “NOTHIN.” “NO, WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY” “NOTHIN”

"Fun Break"
Good day everyone! Today, I'll be sharing to you, my personal recounts during the semestral break. But before that, please bear in mind that this content only covers my own experience or opinion. Semestral break is one of the most awaited and exciting vacation that a student is waiting for. As a grade 7 student like me, I really love a vacation like semestral break, even though it is only or it only contains a short period of time. It is one of the most awaited part of us as a student hence, it is the time to relax, hang out, travel, to do whatever we want, and most especially, spent time with my mother, sister, cousins, my grandmother and my grandfather. I always wish for a vacation like this hence, we are free from our school works, activities, quizzes projects, and even in our assignments. I spent most of the days of my semestral break with my family and through socialmedia. I also did household chores to help
my mother clean our house, wash the dishes, wash our clothes and etc. During the break, one thing I spent most my time was scrolling through social media like TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. It really helped me a lot specially my mental health for the reason that I have been sad/ exhausted for the past few days due to pressure in accomplishing lots of activities. I and my sister also had time for playing, chatting, laughing, eating together, helping her with her homework and reviewing her in her upcoming exam that week. I only have one sibling. We both grew up and spent the most of the time with each other. I think I've always known that I was a little different from my sister, but it's okay for we are different in many ways. Sibling can significantly impact one's mental health. Strong sibling bonds can provide emotional support, reduce feeling of loneliness and foster a sense of belonging, contributing toimproved mental health. Conversely,
negative sibling interactions, such as
bullying or neglecting, can lead to mental
issues like depression or anxiety. First born
like me are often burdened with more
responsibilities that may develop leadership
skills and a higher level of
conscientiousness. Sibling play a role in
shaping our lives. They contribute to our
personal development, provide emotional
support and influence our behaviors,
attitudes and aspirations. Sibling
relationships can be complex and
challenging; they are also a source of
learning, growth and companionship.
Having a bond with my cousins also feels
like bonding with my sibling, sometimes
like friends, and most of the time, they are
someone in between these two. And yes,
they can be strong competitors and in
extreme cases foes too! But the most
important thing of all, we share common
ancestry and history. Whatever the status ofour bond with them may be, they are
inevitable part our our lives, adding all the
flavours of spice to it and making it more
enjoyable. Cousins may not be as important
as a sibling does to our lives, but the
knowledge that can connect with them as
much as whenever we want to brings them
closer. We can freely discuss our problems
with them as they will always lend a
sympathetic ear and are ready with some
good advice.
Cherish your cousins, that will
be the one of the sincerest friends you can
ever have an the bond with them wouldn't
get weak with time and distance. I also had
time to visit my principal.
Our previous
school is one of the most memorable thing
for all of us. Since, it reminds us of all the
joys we had to go through, it reminds us our
friends and most importantly, teachers. My
Lola Daling also invited me to go on a trip
to Manila to visit my favorite tita who is
currently working there as an Engineer at
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. Iand my Lola took a bus going there. It took
us hours to get to Manila. When we arrived
Manila, my aunt fetched us. We stayed at
her apartment at Sampaloc, Manila. We
visited the Minor Basilica and National
Shrine of Jesus Nazarene, popularly known
as Quiapo Church. Every Friday of the
month, thousands of Catholic devotees may
be seen inside the church edging forward
on their knees towards the crucifix, praying
a favor, for a forgiveness. It is one of my
blessed experienced that happened in my
semestral break. It was full of fun as we
spent together. I, my Lola and my tita
always had a foodtrip. I experienced eating
at a Chinese and Japanese restaurant. The
foods and drinks was so delicious. We also
went to different places like in China Town,
Binondo, Divisoria, Makati and Alabang. I
did a lot of bonding time with my Lola and
tita during my vacation in Manila. It was the
best travel and experience ever! Spending
my time with my Lola and tita is very fun.Not only do they spill pearls of wisdom, but
also fills my life with abundance love and
care. The feeling of being around with them
cannot be described by words. The love and
affection shed by my aunt and Lola is
unmatched.
They are my best buddies when
it comes to having unlimited fun. While my
mother tries to provide all she can for us,
my growth is incomplete without my
grandparents and aunties. And that is how I
spent my semestral break and I am very
thankful to God for this break, thus, it was
so relaxing, memorable and enjoyable for
me. I am so blessed that I got to experience
all of this. I learned a lot and hoping that my
next semestral breaks would be more fun,
exciting, fruitful and enjoyable. That is all I
want to share. Thank you!

I was wondering if you know any Cherik fics where they're dating but it's w different people's pov? Or where people don't believe that they are together. They're not rude but they're just sceptical yk. Where they don't believe that one of them has a partner.
Thanks for the ask anon. I have to say that outsider POV is such a guilty pleasure of mine. There are some great fics out there that match your description. There are also a few fics that kind of match your description but deviate a bit from your request. I still think they fit the theme. I hope you enjoy!
Outsider POV - Don’t know that they are in a relationship
Work/Life Balance - pocky_slash
Summary: As teens, Charles was the star of a super popular tween/teen television show and Erik was his best friend. As adults, they're a frighteningly domestic married couple and Alex, Darwin, and Sean are Erik's nosy co-workers.
Rumor Mill - ikeracity
Summary:  Erik is the grumpiest, most foul tempered worker at Stark industries. His grumpiness is the stuff of legends.
So it's obviously the talk of the office when Erik is being made to go to the company party and he's bringing his husband. There's rumors flying round about how much of a masochist or equally antisocial bastard Erik's husband must be to put up with him. Others think he must be a meek mouse perhaps bullied by Erik.
What they weren't expecting was the confident, charming, adorable and unbelievably nice Charles that turns up on Erik's arm. What they certainly weren't expecting was how much Erik obviously adores his husband and how happy he is to let others see this.
Twice as Blind - Darksknight
Summary: Erik is probably the biggest asshole on the face of the earth, and because of this, he'll probably die alone. Charles is a complete flirt and playboy and, probably, will never commit to anyone ever.
(The lesson here is that when you have two friends who are BOTH secretly seeing someone, well, it's probable that they're seeing each other.)
For Argument’s Sake - Darksknight
Summary: The 'Science Wing Fights' are infamous, mostly because it's exciting to see two teachers really have it out, partially because Charles and Erik have the most intense and interesting fights any college student can dream of. So maybe a rumor or two get spread around to start the fights off, maybe someone mentions a hicky or the possibility of Charles seeing someone, but it's not like anyone's trying to instigate anything. Expect Raven. Raven will always instigate things.
Bang! A boomerang is love! – magichistorian
Summary: Everyone knew Mr. Xavier and Mr. Lehnsherr hated each other's guts.
Right?
Sugar Honey – IreneADonovan
Summary: Erik Lehnsherr is the new Senior VP in Stark Industries Engineering Division. He's a bastard to everybody, and everyone pities the pool fool who's married to him, whoever he/she may be. Until they meet him. Then they all jump to erroneous conclusions as to why he took the position at SI. Tony Stark eventually sets them straight. After he busts a gut laughing, that is.
I Heard a Rumor (the Miss Jones Syndrome Remix) – iberiandoctor
Summary: A ring appears on Professor Charles Xavier's finger. The student body at the University of Utopia embarks on a mission to find its source, and makes an unexpected discovery.
X-Men Apocalypse's 1980s-era powered universe in which the name of the school is more than wishful thinking, at least on mutant-friendly Genosha. Charles Xavier is a genetics professor at the University of Utopia; Emma Frost and Tony Stark are his best friends; Charles’s students are extremely nosy and think they know it all. Erik Lehnsherr is… not what you'd expect.
Erik’s Fake Boyfriend - KatSquared
Summary: Emma Frost had her sights set on Erik Lehnsherr, and so did half the campus. However, he made it a point to reject everyone who’s asked him out, and it seemed the man had a “boyfriend” that no one’s ever seen.
Gossip makes the workplace go’round - ximeria
Summary: Apparently if Erik is in a good mood, his employees have to ponder how that may have come to be. Their ideas are, however, wildly off the mark.
Prom Kings - Project896
Summary: "now that you've mentioned it, Im actually curious." Angel whispers so that Mr. Xavier won't have to give them his sad puppy eyes to get them back to reading their books.
"Yeah, he's been wearing that ring since he moved here last year, who do you think his wife is?" Raven glances up to make sure Mr. Xavier is still busy helping Sean understand the story, while doing so, she eyed the golden ring on his ring finger.
Bang! A boomerang is love! - magichistorian
Summary: Everyone knew Mr. Xavier and Mr. Lehnsherr hated each other's guts.
Right?
JJ´s Round-the-Clock Breakfast Bounty Platter - pocky_slash
Summary: Ron makes a friend. As if that's not weird enough on its own, Leslie's pretty sure he's in the mob. (Also, Charles is charming and Erik is the opposite of that.)
In Plain Sight - archipelago (arcanewinter)
Summary: A story where Charles and Erik have basically been together from the first time they met. The whole fate, wow we found each other thing. Now I would like the others not to know and try to bring the two 'oblivious' guys together. They of course enjoy this quite a lot.
Nevermore - amarriageoftrueminds
Summary: [Missing scene] This is what should have happened after Raven and Charles' contretemps in the kitchen.
I Did Not Just See You Kissing Magneto - swoopswoop
Summary: Alex spots Charles and Erik sharing a kiss while a building is collapsed around them before the latter runs off with the Professor.
Or Erik gets bored and so kidnaps Charles.
The Bitter Consequences - swoopswoop
Summary: It was all an accident, they never meant for the other's to find out. Of course, when they did, there was nothing left but to face the music.
Santa’s Helper (The Santa’s Secret Remix) - traumaschwinge
Summary: Raven loves her idiot brother dearly. She wants him to be happy, honest. It's just really hard sometimes when he acts like a teenager instead of a full grown adult.
Or: Raven watches Erik and Charles dance around their crush on each other until she snaps.
A Job Well Done – grim_lupine
Summary: Raven can safely say that when she met Erik in junior year, she didn’t expect she’d ever be having this conversation.
Who’d have thunk? - ximeria
Summary: While everyone knows that Charles and Erik can be a bad influence on each other, there are other sides to their, at times, insane relationship.
Everything Hits at Once - afrocurl
Summary: David's relationship with Charles is tenuous at best, but coming to watch the launch of Cerebro can't be a good idea. Can it?
For the Record - endingthemes
Summary: As prominent figures in the mutant rights movement, activists Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr are pretty much household names. When a romance scandal between them breaks, their celebrity reaches new heights, and though the increased exposure is great, there’s a big problem -- the two of them are just friends.
Too bad no one believes them.
Note: Technically not an outsider’s POV but everyone is wondering about their relationship and it’s just one of my faves.

⚠️Chapter 5 spoilers⚠️ Chapter Recaps and Predictions for Future Dormitory Chapters.
Pardon me for being a little slow but I have just realized a trend? Aside from the fact that Twisted Wonderland seems to be a very “Screw society” game, the take-away of every Twisted Wonderland arc reflects the morals the of their respective Disney classic, except the villains are the ones experiencing it.
Heartslabyul:
Just like Alice in Wonderland, the first plot of the first Chapter centres around the idea that rules are not always meant to be followed. However, as I have mentioned in a previous post, many have theorized that the story of Alice in Wonderland is the journey of a child towards adulthood, during which they begin to realize their individual personalities. The Queen of Heart’s tyranny thus represents societal rules and expectations. In the first chapter, this is not illustrated by Riddle’s strictness. Instead, it is illustrated by the expectations and rules that Riddle’s mother has imposed on him. Riddle will then learn that not everything his mother said is correct, and will grow to have his own opinions. We even see him screwing up the mont-blanc. His mistake is very... um... him though.
Savanaclaw:
Following the Heartslabyul arc is the Savanaclaw arc. Again, the plot is similar to that of The Lion King. Both Leona and Scar are the second-born, and the fact that their brothers have a son makes it impossible for them to become kings. This has lead to Leona’s somewhat inferiority complex. The lazy lion proceeds to come up with a plan to overthrow the more powerful Malleus in the Magift competition, but fails because of the Heartslabyul gang. No matter what he does, not everything goes according to plan. This is where “Hakuna Matata” becomes important. In the Lion King, it is taught to Simba, the protagonist, but in Twisted Wonderland, it has become a lesson that Leona has learnt. Life is not fair, but instead of choosing to dwell on that concept and suffer, you could choose to be happy instead. Despite not being able to become King, Leona is still very intelligent and very much capable, earning the respect of his dorm members and many more people.
Octavinelle:
Fish arc covers the topic of bullying, which many of us have experienced. In this chapter, Azul strives to become more powerful as a result of bullying, and has thus grown to become a very talented mage. His collection of contracts is similar to both Ariel’s collection of human objects and Ursula’s collections of those who failed to pay their debt. All these collections are but material collections, and in Azul’s eyes, his collection is a measure of his worth, as seen from when he declares that he will be useless if Leona were to destroy the contracts. What both Ariel and Azul were missing was as a matter of fact not their material collection. Instead, it was love for Ariel, and friendship for Azul. Jade and Floyd gave him friendship, which he did not have as a victim of bullying, and I’m pretty sure that he realizes that both their presences are more valuable than mere material contracts. I am also certain that Jade and Floyd think so too, although they say otherwise.
Scarabia:
Scarabia arc’s overblot goes to Jamil, you poor boy. Because of his position as the Asim family’s servant, he believes that as long as he is in the presence of Kalim, he will never be able to be who he really is. Aladdin also thinks that he cannot be with Jasmine if he isn’t royalty. However, we all know that Jamil has more to offer as an individual. He is intelligent and powerful, and will remain intelligent and powerful despite his position as a servant. Aladdin is loved by Jasmine despite being a non-royal. Scarabia’s chapter centres around the idea that an individual’s potential and worth is not defined or limited by their status or position, as Jamil has surely proven to us.
Pomefiore:
The recent Pomefiore arc is also very relatable and nothing less than outstanding, highlighting the importance of “beauty” in more than one way. This chapter straight up tells us that ballet is not restricted to girls, and it has already earned my respect. What’s more outstanding is its emphasis of effort. Vil is shown to be frustrated because of being in Neige’s shadow. GIVE HIM THE LICENSE TO BE FRUSTRATED HE WORKED SO HARD! Despite his hard work, he is less popular than the cheery and pretty Neige. In the VDC, Neige’s cover of a children song grabbed more attention than the song he poured his sweat, blood and tears over. No one cares about the effort behind the scenes, and all the praise goes to the final product. In Snow White, the Evil Queen will never be the most beautiful, because she is ugly inside. This could apply to this chapter. Despite being more successful, Neige, unless stated otherwise, lacks the diligence and hard work that Vil has put into his craft.
Ignihyde:
All right folks this is where the predictions starts. The recurring theme of this game is conflict against society. From this, I will predict that Idia and Hercules will share a common theme. People call them monsters. Hercules is called a monster because of his inhuman strength, while Idia’s case will most likely be because of Ortho. Idia is undoubtedly a genius engineer, and since Ortho is a cyborg, there are chances that he was once a human but died, and is turned into a cyborg by his brother. Idia creating him from scratch is not likely because he already mentioned a “previous Ortho”. Because of this, Idia is feared by many people as well. However, if this theory were to be correct, it would mean that the story will follow the moral in Hercules that underlines the importance of staying true to oneself and that people will love you for who you are. Hercules definitely stayed true to himself, and in the end, instead of being labelled a monster, he became loved by many. I’m sure that it will be the same way with Idia, although I am not sure about the situation that will help incite this.
From how he encouraged Riddle to break away from his mother’s rules in the first chapter,, it is highly possible that Ace would play a role in helping Idia express his mad scientist vibes. If Ace does not help Idia, he will probably still play a big role alongside Ortho, as they are both younger siblings. From ghost marriage, we can also see Ortho’s ability to call Ace out on his bullshit. Ace is a child full of lies, and his true personality may also not be what he displays every day. With Ortho’s advance “Your body sayin you lyin boy” technology, I think that we could finally see a change in our dumb ginger boy’s personality, as well as gain some juicy insight into the Trappola household. Epel is also a plausible factor, seeing that he has embraced his cute and wild side in Chapter 5. However, if the story were to follow the same pattern as in Chapter 3 with Jack and Octavinelle, Epel will most likely only help the main character, and Vil would help with the dorm leader in question. But we’ll see about that.
Diasomnia
Sleeping beauty is a story where love is a powerful force. In the dorm that is very family orientated, there is no doubt that love will be a common theme in this story arc. However, just like Pomefiore, the first year also has to play an important role in the story. Sebek, unlike waka sama, is probably mortal. Another theme in sleeping beauty is that growing up presents all sorts of existential crisis. I am pretty certain that Sebek’s existential crisis would come in the form of fey vs human. Power vs mortality. How will Malleus overblot then? Following the pattern, it would likely be because of a problem that contrasts to their first year. As Sebek gets to know the idiot combo, he will gain more friends, and Malleus might find his most loyal guard taken away from him, or it may come in the form of Sebek or Silver, or both, objecting him in some way. If both happen to be proven wrong, it is still likely that he will overblot because of something that involves his loneliness or lack of understanding of mortality. It could even be caused by seeing Sebek and Silver grow up, and suddenly be hit with the realization that they both may one day leave his side or pass away, and that the main character, who does not fear him at all, will also one day return to their world or die, leaving him behind once again.
The conflict will probably then be resolved by the understanding that despite all this, he has friends. Lilia, Sebek, Silver, the main character, and perhaps even Ace and Deuce, and Idia and Ortho for good measure, are people precious to him, and it is important for him to treasure the time that he has with them.
That’s all for today! These are probably not accurate, and I’m sure that Yana Toboso is at least 10 dimensions away from me when playing chess, but it is fun to compare the storyline with their respective classic film. Either ways, only time will tell how the story progresses. So I’ll keep an eye out for any previews! Thank you for reading!

Your phone just cracked. It fell off the table, it bounced off a wall, or it was just a classic case of wrong place, wrong time and was crushed under something weighty. Either way, there is no saving it, and you are left with the only option of buying a new phone. Here, your friends chime in, urging you to buy the latest iPhone. No matter that an Android is cheaper, has the same features and is less likely to meet the same fate as your previous phone. Your friends make their voices louder, more demanding, and you finally succumb and buy an iPhone. Congratulations, you are now a victim of herd mentality.
Disclaimer- this article has no intentions to slander Apple products, regardless of the authors’ personal views.
So, what is herd mentality?
Herd mentality, according to wikipedia, is a mentality that describes how people can be influenced by their peers to adopt certain behaviors on a largely emotional, rather than rational, basis. People usually ignore their own feelings in this process, and make different decisions than they would have individually.
When in Rome, be a Roman
Humans have always been social creatures. To fit in with the rest of the group and be accepted, social conformity was the norm. Thus, ’herd mentality’ was born. It was first coined by Gabriel Tarde and Gustave Le Bo in the 19th century. This herd mentality led to the process of groupthink, where members of a group pushed aside their own dissenting opinions just to have the appearance of unanimity.
This conformity can be something as simple as applauding when the other audience applauds, or something as problematic as bullying somebody just because everybody else bullies them.
Why do we follow the crowd?
To be plain and simple, it's comfortable. You don’t stand alone and you won’t be singled out. You have the comfort of the masses around you. There’s no pressure to be actively individualistic, you can just swim with the current.
In society, we are also encouraged to be ‘normal’ and fit in with everyone else. Those who don’t comply with the majority are shunned as outcasts. Therefore, to be liked and accepted in society, most people suppress their individuality and change aspects of themselves, adjusting to norms dictated by others.
It is also assumed that walking the road more travelled leads to higher rates of success, because hey, everybody else succeeded, didn’t they? But this is a misconception, other than in select few exceptions. Most people think that this is an easy short-cut, and try to get the best of both worlds. But success and comfort rarely go together. To succeed, one must go through the mortifying ordeal of actively being themselves and defending their opinion, which just isn't possible when they are part of the crowd.
In India
A perfect example of herd mentality, and a very relevant issue in society, is the Indian education system, and the stigma that surrounds it. A huge chunk of the population prioritizes the science stream and ostracizes those who choose the arts. It’s assumed that "smart" kids take up science and the "stupid" kids take up arts.
While we were having this discussion, we wondered why this was. The first thing that one of us mentioned was how science was relatively more rooted in logic, and perhaps due to this, people leaned towards science. But one of us argued that our culture was rife with superstitious beliefs, so it didn’t make much sense.
The most common reason that children are pushed into the science stream, and encouraged to become doctors and engineers, is that it pays well. These two professions, in general, lead to financial stability. Here, herd mentality comes into the picture- the people blindly believe that only engineering or medical professions will pay well, without doing actual research. There are plenty of other fields that can sustain your average nuclear family just fine. But this is food for thought that traditional Indian households find hard to digest. This is probably because, in such traditional Indian households, the men are usually expected to be the financial providers, and there is a certain comfort in having a stable 9 to 5 job, like a desk job. Of course, there is stable work to be had in any field, but herd mentality has played its role once again in spreading misinformation, and family members claim that financial stability is to be had only in the engineering/medical field.
Arguably, the cut off percentages for the differing streams is also to blame. The science cut off is much higher than for the art streams, and thus it is assumed that “smart” students opt for science, while the “stupid” students have no other option but to go to arts, as they couldn’t clear the science cut off. This leads to the notion that those who take up science are inherently smarter than arts students, which prompts the typical Indian family to force their child to opt for science.
This herd mentality extends to the students themselves- we often see science students dismissing arts students, claiming that they “have it easy” as they are in arts. This stereotype also feeds into the bragging culture. People would prefer to brag about their child who is studying in science, as it is also a subtle way to show that their child is “smart”.
Blind Justice
Another relevant problem would be the reaction of the masses in protest against the controversial CAA bill passed in early 2019. Thousands gathered on the streets, demanding both the CAA and NRC bills to be scrapped. However, when some of the protestors were interviewed by news agents, most didn’t even know the full forms of CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and NRC (National Register of Citizens). Yet they appeared in the masses, calling for justice. Others did away with the farce of justice entirely and stated that they showed merely up because their leaders told them to.
A more benign instance of herd mentality is showcased on social media, particularly Instagram. Whenever a human rights issue goes viral, for instance, the Black Lives Matter movement and the genocide in Palestine, there is a barrage of sympathy that is poured through Instagram stories and ‘black squares’. But these stories and black squares, while acts of solidarity, aren’t ones that are particularly helpful, and are generally used by ‘influencers’ more as tools of performative activism. Where does herd mentality fit into this? People put up these shows of support because everybody else is doing it, and they want to fit in, and want their sympathy to be seen. The ‘thoughts and prayers’ message has the same qualities. Instead, why not put up links to petitions and fundraisers, or donate?
To be sheep or to not be sheep
But even if we are aware of herd mentality, can we be truly immune to it? It’s simply not possible. A lot of times, we are forced to follow the ‘herd’, either because of lack of other options, or fear of repercussions. At the same time, one must also think for themselves, and approach each situation rationally. The most logical thing to do would be to find a balance between the two. At the end of the day, we must ask ourselves if we can use this mentality for good, but really are there sides to being human?

Welcome Home
[LWA, Diakko, domestic, family, baby?, cute happy shit]
Akko and Diana are still settling into this new life, routine, and responsibility. But coming home to this...? It was the best thing that ever happened to them.
—–
Diana clicked at the button of her retractable pen, eyes moving rapidly from left to right and back again. She paused, humming softly to herself while she appraised yet another essay on how ‘the advent of big data and analytics is a turning point in the synthesis of magic and artificial intelligence technology. She scribbled her remarks on the paper’s margin:
‘Revise – provide suggested guidelines and security measures for magic-infused data-driven machinery.’
Now, it may come as a surprise to many, but Diana never really considered herself a traditionalist. In fact, her on-going tenure at Luna Nova’s higher-education learning center is heavily decorated with progressive and future-minded research and perspectives. This idea, however, simply sounded a little too much like… Croix—and she wasn’t going to pretend that kept her at ease. But Diana also believed that very few people fall far beyond redemption, and Prof. Croix’s appointment as the Head of the Magical Engineering Ethics Board was the perfect example of redemption if there ever was one.
‘As we’ve learned historically, aggressive technological progress should be done under the guiding hand of ethics and humanitarian agenda,” she jotted down. She spared a quick glance to the office clock her before diving back down into the paper.
05:17:PM
Still early, she thought to herself, I could probably finish this stack before going home and—
“Quarter-past-five!” she suddenly exclaimed, forgetting that her former working hours of until well-past-eight were no longer applicable. Recent events had turned her entire world… upside-down.
“Grading will have to wait until tomorrow,” she hurriedly—but meticulously, of course—tidied the papers into her drawer; the pile on the left for marked papers, and unmarked papers on the right. Her keys jingled while she put her belongings back into her handbag, and the hurried clacking of her heels signaled the other professors of her early retreat back home.
--
Diana Cavendish rarely rolled her eyes, but by Jennifer the traffic was horrendous on the north-bound lane. Which she wouldn’t even be on, had she not forgotten the towels she was supposed to buy earlier in-between lectures. Akko reminded her thrice that morning (each time answered with an obedient, “yes, dear.”) Diana was once again reminded that one of the most surprising—and amusing—things she discovered since her marriage to the brunette witch was that between the two of them, Akko was ‘wife-zilla’.
06:13:PM
And there was extra-emphasis on the ‘zilla’ part lately. Traffic be damned, she was going to get those towels.
--
“Eep!”
The sharp whistling of a boiling kettle startled Akko out of the sports magazine she was so deeply engrossed it. Shit shit shit—she clumsily shut the glossy pages closed, darting towards the kitchen and—kami-sama, why did Diana think it was a good idea to have doors everywhere? “Stupid door,” she groaned, anxious to silence the whistling lest it disturb their special guest.
She lunged towards the stove, snapping the burner knob closed. “I could have done that with magic,” she flicked herself on the forehead, old habits from a magic-less childhood kicking in during the oddest moments. She blinked, scanning the kitchen counter for a small box before realizing that she left it back at the living room. “I’m almost as bad at this as I was at transmutation spells!”
About five minutes later, she was jogging back towards the dining area balancing a warmed tumbler in one hand, and several plastic utensils in another. She narrowly avoided tripping over the carpet (“Fuck!”), and was unfortunate enough to hit her shin across the low coffee-table, warranting an impressive parade of crisp, native-to-Japan curses. Thank Kami-sama it was Friday, she thought with relief. Diana would be taking over evening household duties by Monday and she damn well needed a break; even if a break meant more hours working.
She tipped the warmed tumbler over and let a few drops of its content spatter at the back of her hand.
06:37:PM
It was still too warm but should be just fine by dinner time.
--
[Capitalism is a predator, but I’m nearly home.]
Diana hit ‘send’, letting her wife know that she was around 2 blocks away while waiting for the last stoplight to turn green.
[As long as u got the towels lol. Tnx, luv u :-*]
Diana smiled at Akko’s reply, turning her attention away from her phone screen when she saw the soft glow shift from red to green. Yes, she had the towels—and maybe a full set of Reuven-Eilhart designer night pajamas. Or three.
She also brought home new ‘friends’—she saw that the store had recently released a set of ‘We There Bears’ themed products. Diana remembered Akko raving about them; they were apparently quite the in-thing as of late. She was immediately drawn to the pure-white polar bear with an interestingly unreadable expression. “That un’s ‘Nice Bear’,” the clerk supplied. “But if y’gonna get ‘im, you gotta get the whole gang else he’d be lonely.”
And so she did—because if Diana ever did anything she never did it half-way done. Frizzly Bear and Fanda sat snugly beside him in the backseat.
The blonde witch pulled up into their driveway, sorting out her belongings before stepping out to unload her shopping bags from the back. She opened the door and couldn’t help but laugh at herself.
“What has become of me,” she smiled, wondering how to bring three bears and several frilly-looking things into their house without painting herself as silly.
06:53:PM
Warm, yellow light flooded through the dining room curtains, and the familiar sound of their car alerted Akko to Diana’s arrival.
“She’s actually home on time,” she remarked to a little fellow seated at the end of their dining table, pulling on an exaggerated expression of being impressed. But Diana’s arrival always makes her smile, so she walks towards the front door so she can giver he wife a hand and—
She paused, taking a strong sniff of something which was coming out of the kitchen.
“Oh, no.”
The pizza! There was pizza burning in the oven! She bolted back towards the kitchen for some damage control, relieved to find that the pizza was only beginning to blacken at the crusts—easily salvageable.
“Mou, Diana’s gonna give me an earful,” she whined in defeat. She could hear the sound of their door unlocking, followed by footsteps through their dining area and the rustle of shopping bags being unloaded.
To her surprise, Diana had no drop of sternness in her voice. “I’ve missed you,” she cooed.
Akko broke into a grin, turning to face Diana. “Missed you to—”
She bit back her words, fascinated at the sight of her wife, looking weary from a long day, cradling their beloved Sara with all the fascination in the world. Their daughter giggled up to her mother, hands reaching for her face, prodding at Diana’s nose (which scrunched up adorably) and pulling at her platinum curls before squealing in delight.
“I may have missed you, as well.” Diana teased, tossing a smile to Akko’s direction.
“That’s hardly fair!” Akko tried to pout, walking towards the two people she loved most in the world.
Diana nuzzled against Sara’s forehead, running her fingers softly over the thin patch of light-brown hair beginning to grow longer. Sara perked up immediately when Akko came into her field of vision.
“I think she likes me better,” Akko whispered before kissing Diana’s shoulder. She wrapped an arm around the pair and tickled at Sara’s nose.
“Not a chance.” Diana leaned her head against Akko’s, watching as Sara grabbed onto Akko’s finger with a chubby little hand.
“Did you buy her another hundred sets of pajamas?” Akko raised an eyebrow.
“Only three,” Diana tried to hide her defensiveness. “And... several room accessories?”
Akko laughed, “pretty soon we’re going to run out of space in her room. This little lady has got you wrapped around her finger!”
There was no use denying it, so Diana simply rolled her eyes.
“Come here,” Akko smiled. “Welcome home.” She moved up to her tiptoes, and Diana turned her head to meet the brunette half-way for a small kiss. She appreciated the way Akko’s embraced tightened around her torso and warmed her chest; the way it made her family feel so... whole.
Akko pulled back, but Diana chased after her to steal another quick kiss, amused at the way Akko would still blush whenever she did that.
“So,” Diana gave her wife a look, “burnt pizza for dinner?”
“Mou, Sara! Your mother is such a bully!”

A/N: Woohoo finally churned another one out! I’m feeling a bit sick, and it’s early in the morning, so hopefully there aren’t that many typos/errors. Anyway I’m doing fine, hope you all are too! I’ve been re-reading Appointments over and over so I can get a feel of the writing style and flow I used to have for it and finally finish the next chapter. I do feel out of touch from how I was back in 2018; so I really need to do a lot of fanfic reading. You guys have any suggestions?
ALSO - meet Sara! Her name means vivid blossoms; it’s Japanese but also western-sounding so win-win for both moms. A homage to ‘Botany’, with the flowers and everything. She was originally meant to be Leia, because I’m a big Star Wars fan, but hey! I saw Sara and instantly thought it was the best fit. Hope you enjoyed. :) [Also, I’ve noticed I tend to switch between past / present tense a lot and I’ll be working to actively fix that moving forward!]

Because We Got High.
Tumblr media
Relationship: Billy & Reader Warnings: Drug use (it’s just weed) & language. Words: 1,820  Tags: Fluff & humor.
Billy's been driving around for the last twenty minutes, music blaring and smoking cigarette after cigarette as he looks for Max. She was meant to be at one of her friends' houses, but the little shits apparently jumped from house to house without telling anyone. Everyone was meant to be at the Wheeler's- and boy was that fun having to see Karen Wheeler answer the door side-by-side with her husband, squirming and with pleading eyes to not utter a word of their previous flirtations- but the kids weren't there. So Billy drove to the Byers', and again no luck.
The Sinclair household only had one mouthy little girl that Billy briefly found amusing, and it was she who directed him to the Henderson's.
"Just walk right in," the little girl Erica had told him. "My brother and his friends will most likely ignore the doorbell and Ms. Henderson likes to chase her evening pills with alcohol."
"For being a kid, you know an awful lot about what Ms. Henderson does at night."
"I'm thirteen, you mullet wearing bastard." She had sassed him- actually sassed him before slamming the door in his face and all Billy could do was laugh about it.
The kid had fire and he liked it. It was rather refreshing.
Then having gotten back in his car, he memorized the directions to the Henderson household that Erica had given him and drove.
Pulling up outside the Henderson house, Billy stubs out his cigarette in the ashtray before cutting the engine and climbing out. The lights are all on inside, so he wastes no time stomping up to the front door and ringing the bell.
No answer.
He tries the door knob and it's locked.
"For fucks sake," Billy grumbles, growing agitated.
He then decides to pound on the door with a closed fist, but again there's no answer. There's a TV blaring somewhere inside, but he rather not start peeking through windows and risk the neighbors calling the cops on him. Instead he stomps around to the back of the house and is intent on pounding on the back door, yelling until someone answers him. But the moment he steps foot in the backyard, a strong familiar scent hits him full force and he stumbles to a stop before looking for the source.
Tumblr media
Dusty and all his little friends had decided to come over and you knew there'd be no peace in order for you to watch a couple of movies as you had planned. They'd all congregated into Dustin's room which was just right next to yours and immediately they were a loud mess. So after making sure your mother was nice and tuckered out downstairs in front of the TV, you went back into your room and into your closet.
At the very top, very back of your closet was your secret stash of weed that was only smoked in emergency situations. And this? This was an emergency of boredom that you needed to quell right away.
So after making sure you had everything in your box, you tuck it under your arm and go back downstairs to exit the back door. In your backyard is the only thing left that reminds everyone of your fathers presence before he split- a large treehouse in the sturdiest tree that Dustin and his friends usually chilled out in when they weren't inside.
There's an actual staircase that wraps around the tree and you climb them all the way up to the house itself. Then plopping down in one of the bean bags, you set the box in your lap, open it up, and smile as you stare down at its contents.
After rolling a blunt and lighting up, you take a deep drag and let the smoke settle in your lungs before blowing it out. Drag after drag, your body starts to loosen up and you quickly find yourself sprawled on the floor of the treehouse.
You have more than enough weed for another blunt and you lazily start to roll another one.
Before you can light up, however, a voice stalls you.
"You do know the entire back yard smells like weed, right? You looking to be busted?"
Rolling over, you belly crawl to the door and look down. Standing in your backyard, looking far too handsome for his own good, is none other than Billy Hargrove. "You gonna be a narc, Hargrove?"
He walks over to the bottom of the stairs, eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Do I know you?"
"Nah. We don't have classes together, but you made an impression on all the little sheep at school. Name's Y/N. I'm Dustin's sister."
"Hmm." He glances at the house once more. "So can I just walk in and grab Max or..?"
"They got a D&D session going on, so good luck, man."
Billy huffs and turns around, stomping up to the back door and entering your house. You watch, lighting up your second blunt of the night and wait. A handful of minutes pass before Billy exits alone, looking a little more agitated than he had moments before.
Chuckling softly, you hold out the blunt so he can see the embers burning bright in the night. "Need a little relaxation while you wait? Come on up, Hargrove. I don't bite." Billy sighs but makes his way towards the stairs nonetheless. Laughing as he ducks to enter through the door, you roll onto your back and hold out the blunt towards him. "Welcome to Stoners Anonymous. I'm Y/N and I'll be your host this evening."
Billy's agitation is quickly wiped away and a smile takes place of his scowl. He takes the offered blunt and holds it to his lips, taking a long drag as he lets his head fall back and eyes close in pure bliss. Blowing out the smoke, he then takes a seat. "That's good. Who's your dealer?"
"A good customer never reveals her sources until at least the third smoking party."
"Whatever you say." He takes another hit, letting his gaze wander around the spacious treehouse. "You know, a good host usually has snacks for when the munchies hit."
On cue, your stomach rumbles and Billy chuckles as you groan. Cursing quietly, you sit up and crawl over to a stack of crates that act as a stand of cubbies. Pulling out a walkie talkie, you turn it on and hold down the button. "Calling all nerds. Calling all nerds. Take a break from D&D and bring me some noms. Over."
Billy grins, passing the blunt back to you. You take a drag as the walkie in hand crackles to life. "Are you high? Over." Someone giggles before it cuts out.
"As a kite. Now bring me some noms. Enough for two. Over."
"Two? How much did you smoke?!"
"Don't question me, Dusty, or I'm telling mom what really happened to Mews."
The walkie goes quiet, so Billy asks, "Mews?"
"Mhm," You distractedly nod. "Mom's cat that she fucking adored more than her own kids. My idiot brother brought home something feral and it ate Mews. We had to tell her, her beloved cat ran away."
"That's wild."
"Alright. What do you want? Over."
You first pump victoriously. "Pizza rolls."
Billy's nose wrinkles. "Screw that. You got cash? We'll drive and pick up burgers."
Your eyes widen as you beam at him. "You're my new favorite person! Here. Finish it," you tell him while passing the blunt back to him. "I'll go get some cash and shoes, and meet you out front."
Tossing the walkie aside, you watch as Billy picks it up to speak into it. "Cancel the rolls. Y/N and I are driving for food instead."
"Billy?!"
He smirks. "Hello, Maxine. Since you and your nerds are taking forever, I'm taking Y/N for food."
A bunch of rambling comes over the walkie and he clicks it off, tossing it on one of the bean bags. Then with the blunt between his lips, he exits the treehouse and saunters down the stairs.
By the time Billy makes it around front, you're standing rather impatiently in the middle of the sidewalk. All the kids are on the front stoop, glancing between you and him.
"So you two are friends?" Dustin asks. "Since when? You don't socialize, Y/N."
"Whatever. We officially met tonight. Shared a blunt and now we're the best of friends!"
"The best," he leers, coming up beside you and throwing an arm around your shoulders.
All the boys grimace.
"I don't like it." Dustin grumbles.
"Too bad. I didn't like Mike when he first came around."
"Hey!"
"No offense, Wheeler," you quickly amend. "And now look. I adore all you fuckin' gremlins, but that's about to change if you don't let me leave and get a burger."
"Fine!"
"Fine! Let's go, Hargrove."
Billy flicks the remainder of the blunt to the ground, smirking as he turns and leads you to his car. You readily open the passenger door and climb on in, waving at your brother and his friends who suspiciously keep watch of Billy. After settling in and Billy settling in as well, his engine roars to life and you laugh as AC/DC immediately blares at you.
He peels out in front of your house and you hang your right arm out the window to feel the wind rushing against it.
"Come on, Billy. Show me what your baby's got."
Glancing at you, Billy slowly smirks. He turns down one of the back roads, pressing harder on the gas and picking up speed. You laugh, leaning your head towards the opened window and letting your hair whip every which way. "Whoooo!" You scream.
As you settle back into your seat, your bright eyes land on Billy as he splits his attention between you and the road. "Where the hell have you been since I've been in Hawkins, Henderson?"
You waggle your eyebrows. "If you'd stop bullying Harrington, hot shot, you'd find me napping somewhere in the room."
He huffs. "Don't tell me you're fond of boy wonder?"
"Eh. Steve's decent." Billy scoffs. "No, I'm serious. If you boys would get over your egos or whatever shit is keeping you from actually being cool with each other, you'd see Steve is a hell of a lot more tolerable than Tommy. Because seriously, gross. You can do a lot better than Tommy, my dude."
"You talk a lot. I'm honestly surprised I've never met you before."
"Mhm. I think I'm possibly one of the last remaining females who hasn't taken you for a ride."
"Just name the time and place, sweetheart, and we'll rectify that."
"Smooth, Hargrove. Very smooth."
"I try."
"Well try driving faster because I've got a serious case of the munchies and if you don't feed me soon, I'm gonna get cranky."
He chuckles. "Whatever you say, Henderson. Whatever you say."

How Socialists Defeated Amazon’s Bid to Buy Seattle’s Elections
By Ty Moore -November 9, 2019
Jeff Bezos’s bid to buy Seattle City Council has backfired. Despite big business dropping unprecedented cash behind Amazon-backed candidates in all seven council races, Seattle voters rejected this attempt to flip the council to the right in all but two of the seven council races. In Seattle’s most-watched, most expensive, and most polarized council in decades, Socialist Alternative’s Kshama Sawant appears to have won a narrow victory.
(Watch the victory press conference here. )
After election night returns showed Sawant behind by 8 points, with 46% to Egan Orion’s 54%, the corporate media and big business sounded triumphalist. But 60% of late arriving ballots counted in the following days swung toward Kshama. By Friday evening’s count Sawant had crested 3.6% past Orion with a lead of 1,515 votes, with that number likely to rise a bit further in the days ahead.
Washington State’s mail-in ballot system allows voters to mail in their ballots up to three weeks before election day. Early voters tend to be older and wealthier, with later voters being disproportionately younger, working class, and renters – those more likely to vote socialist. This year the late ballot bump for Sawant was bigger than ever, a reflection of the huge 58% turnout in District 3. Even our critics in the local media were forced to credit Socialist Alternative’s record-breaking get-out-the-vote operation.
The high turnout also reflected the wave of outrage that swept Seattle in the final three weeks of the election following Amazon’s $1 million “money bomb” dropped on Seattle on October 14. This brought Amazon’s total contribution to the Seattle Chamber of Commerce PAC to $1.5 million, and corporate PAC spending as a whole to over $4.1 million – approaching five times the previous record!
National political figures weighed in against Amazon, followed by a wave of national media attention. The Wall Street Journal’s Editorial Board complained that “Bernie Sanders tweeted this week that Amazon’s spending in Seattle was ‘a perfect example of the out-of-control corporate greed we are going to end.’ Elizabeth Warren decried Amazon for ‘trying to tilt the Seattle City Council elections in their favor,’ adding that ‘I have a plan to get big money out of politics.’”
A Referendum on Corporate Power
Warning that Bezos’s $1.5 million gamble to defeat Sawant and other progressives may have backfired, Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat said: “The election was playing out as a referendum on the performance of the City Council.” An Elway/Crosscut poll showed 67% of likely voters supporting “someone who wants to change” the Council’s direction. Westneat continued: “Now [the election] could well be a referendum on Amazon and corporate power” (10/23/19).
Of course, the Seattle Times is at the forefront of a relentless corporate propaganda offensive to blame Sawant and other so-called “left ideologues” for the failed “performance of the City Council” in addressing Seattle’s homelessness and affordability crisis, the top concern for voters. The paper endorsed Amazon-backed candidates in all seven council races, portraying them as “change” candidates.
In reality, Seattle’s housing crisis is part of the global failure of capitalism, which treats housing as a commodity to enrich billionaire speculators, rather than as a basic human right. Working people are right to be angry at the inaction of city, state, and federal authorities to address the crisis. But blame for this falls squarely on a political establishment that is complicit with corporate power, not on activists and political leaders like Kshama Sawant calling for universal rent control and taxing big business to massively expand quality public housing.
Amazon executives’ chosen opponent for Kshama was Egan Orion, a fully corporate candidate who posed as a “progressive” to win votes. Orion put posters up all over town saying he accepted no corporate PAC money despite the fact that he applied for corporate PAC money, interviewed with the PAC, and thanked them when he got their endorsement. He sent out mailers with lies about Kshama to every household.
Orion’s supporters tore down over 1,000 Kshama Sawant yard signs throughout the district, and in the final two weeks, they vandalized over 200 signs with spray-painted profanities. Crucial to overcoming the lies and attacks against our campaign was building widespread public awareness about this attempt to buy the election through thousands of conversations on the doors and at street corners by our members and volunteers.
Debate on Seattle’s Left
Once again, Seattle has shown that socialists and working people can take on the most powerful corporate titans and win. This victory should give confidence to movements everywhere, from the recent wave of mass anti-austerity and democracy protests spreading across the globe, to the youth climate strikes, labor battles, as well as other socialist election campaigns including Bernie Sanders’ inspiring fight for the presidency.
Yet it would be a major mistake to imagine that similar victories can be won through struggle and determination alone. The role of Marxist perspectives, program, and organization was essential in Seattle and will be vital to defeating the concentrated power of the capitalist class everywhere.
At the start of the election campaign, a de-facto alliance between big business, key labor leaders, and most liberal political figures had coalesced to try and defeat Sawant and block the election of Democratic Socialists of America candidate Shaun Scott in District 4. This anti-Sawant alliance came to life in the aftermath of the “Tax Amazon” campaign in 2018, which went down in defeat following aggressive bullying by Amazon, including threats to move jobs out of Seattle.
The broad coalition built around the Tax Amazon campaign, in which Sawant’s office and Socialist Alternative played a central role, initially won unanimous passage of the tax on the top 3% of Seattle corporations to pay for affordable housing and homeless services. However, facing intense pressure from big business and a well-funded repeal campaign, this coalition was shattered and city council repealed the tax in a 7-2 vote just one month later.
Tumblr media
From left-liberal and pro-business voices alike, blame for the defeat was put on the “divisive” approach of Sawant and Socialist Alternative. Despite support from a number of unions, leaders of the Ironworkers and other trades angrily denounced the campaign as a “tax on jobs,” fearful that Amazon would follow through on their threats to cut back new construction in retaliation.
In the August 6 primary, with no endorsements from her fellow city councilmembers or other prominent Democratic Party politicians, with labor publicly divided, Sawant received just 37% in the primary election. “No incumbent in recent memory has survived a primary showing that low,” wrote Westneat in the Seattle Times (8/7/19). “[T]he days on the council for the crusader for rent control and taxes on big business could be numbered.”
The Fight for Unity Against Amazon
If Sawant and Socialist Alternative had adopted the approach of most liberal and labor leaders to try and avoid a direct confrontation with Amazon, it’s likely Jeff Bezos’ bullying strategy and attempt to buy the city council would have succeeded. There was nothing automatic about the widespread working-class distrust toward corporate power getting organized into a coherent fightback.
In fact, most elections across the U.S. don’t feature bold working-class challenges, given the corporate domination of the two-party system. Even in Seattle, where the local Democratic Party organizations have shifted leftward under the impact of Sanders and other left challengers, this hasn’t resulted in strong working class fighters running for city council in most races.
Socialist Alternative based our electoral strategy on confidence that, if offered a fighting lead, working class and young people in Seattle were capable of defeating Amazon and big business. Crucial to this strategy was the potential for working-class pressure from below to push progressive and labor leaders off the sidelines and into a united fight with us against Seattle’s corporate establishment. Socialist Alternative members provided the Marxist backbone of this strategy. Their energy, self-sacrifice, and political skills successfully built  perhaps the most powerful grassroots election campaign in Seattle history.
Over 1,000 volunteers and SA members have helped us knock on over 225,000 doors and make 200,000 phone calls. 7,900 working people donated to the campaign, and with a median donation of $20 we raised $570,000, smashing all previous records for both the number of donors and total amount raised. We’ll be publishing a fuller report of this historic effort soon.
Tumblr media
The dynamic unleashed after the primary election confirmed our strategy. Candidates backed by Amazon and big business moved on to the general election in all seven council races, facing off against more progressive candidates. With the looming threat of the Chamber of Commerce engineering a wholesale takeover of City Hall, our call for maximum unity against big business rapidly gained traction among grassroots activists, exerting pressure on bigger political players.
More endorsements for Sawant, as well as Shaun Scott, began rolling in from progressive leaders and groups who had sat on the sidelines in the primary. The scandalous effort of conservative labor leaders to win Egan Orion the Labor Council’s endorsement was defeated when over 300 union members signed an open letter in protest. By the final weeks, 21 unions had endorsed Sawant – a substantial majority of the union locals who endorsed in the District 3 race. A joint event promoting a Green New Deal for Seattle was organized with Sawant, Morales, and Scott speaking, an important display of programmatic left unity that was absent in the primary.
In a major defeat for the business-backed Democratic establishment who have long-dominated city  politics, local Democratic Party groups endorsed both Shaun Scott and Kshama Sawant in September (they had already endorsed Morales in the primary). Sawant is the first independent socialist ever endorsed by Seattle’s Democrats, and this endorsement was made despite her very public calls for left Democrats, labor, and social movements to join together to build a new party for working people. This victory, the product of an energetic grassroots effort, was linked to passing resolutions condemning corporate PAC spending  through four Democratic Party organizations.
All this laid the basis for our re-election campaign to become the central driving force behind a unified response when Amazon dropped their $1 million money bomb on October 14th. Alongside the Democratic Party groups, we organized a press conference two days later outside of Amazon headquarters, followed by rally called by Amazon workers a week later.
This broke the dam. A wave of national media coverage followed. In a high profile reversal, even Lorena Gonzalez and Teresa Mosqueda – the liberal city councilmembers who had publicly called for Sawant’s defeat in the primary – felt compelled to speak at the rally against Amazon and announce their endorsement of both Sawant and Scott. A wave of other progressive Democratic Party leaders followed suit.
The  naked attempt by Jeff Bezos to buy Seattle City council backfired, but only because it met a well-prepared united front strategy to mobilize working class anger into a unifying force, pushing even reluctant labor and liberal leaders into alliance with socialists to fight big business. The role of Socialist Alternative, with our clear analysis, strategy, and a politically self-confident membership, was absolutely vital to moving these wider forces into united action.
As the wave of socialist election campaigns across the country continues to expand, the rich lessons of how we defeated Jeff Bezos in his hometown can help serious socialist organizers develop winning strategies for working class struggle everywhere.

"Fun Break"
Good day everyone! Today, I'll be sharing to you, my personal recounts during the semestral break. But before that, please bear in mind that this content only covers my own experience or opinion. Semestral break is one of the most awaited and exciting vacation that a student is waiting for. As a grade 7 student like me, I really love a vacation like semestral break, even though it is only or it only contains a short period of time. It is one of the most awaited part of us as a student hence, it is the time to relax, hang out, travel, to do whatever we want, and most especially, spent time with my mother, sister, cousins, my grandmother and my grandfather. I always wish for a vacation like this hence, we are free from our school works, activities, quizzes projects, and even in our assignments. I spent most of the days of my semestral break with my family and through socialmedia. I also did household chores to help
my mother clean our house, wash the dishes, wash our clothes and etc. During the break, one thing I spent most my time was scrolling through social media like TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. It really helped me a lot specially my mental health for the reason that I have been sad/ exhausted for the past few days due to pressure in accomplishing lots of activities. I and my sister also had time for playing, chatting, laughing, eating together, helping her with her homework and reviewing her in her upcoming exam that week. I only have one sibling. We both grew up and spent the most of the time with each other. I think I've always known that I was a little different from my sister, but it's okay for we are different in many ways. Sibling can significantly impact one's mental health. Strong sibling bonds can provide emotional support, reduce feeling of loneliness and foster a sense of belonging, contributing toimproved mental health. Conversely,
negative sibling interactions, such as
bullying or neglecting, can lead to mental
issues like depression or anxiety. First born
like me are often burdened with more
responsibilities that may develop leadership
skills and a higher level of
conscientiousness. Sibling play a role in
shaping our lives. They contribute to our
personal development, provide emotional
support and influence our behaviors,
attitudes and aspirations. Sibling
relationships can be complex and
challenging; they are also a source of
learning, growth and companionship.
Having a bond with my cousins also feels
like bonding with my sibling, sometimes
like friends, and most of the time, they are
someone in between these two. And yes,
they can be strong competitors and in
extreme cases foes too! But the most
important thing of all, we share common
ancestry and history. Whatever the status ofour bond with them may be, they are
inevitable part our our lives, adding all the
flavours of spice to it and making it more
enjoyable. Cousins may not be as important
as a sibling does to our lives, but the
knowledge that can connect with them as
much as whenever we want to brings them
closer. We can freely discuss our problems
with them as they will always lend a
sympathetic ear and are ready with some
good advice. Cherish your cousins, that will
be the one of the sincerest friends you can
ever have an the bond with them wouldn't
get weak with time and distance. I also had
time to visit my principal. Our previous
school is one of the most memorable thing
for all of us. Since, it reminds us of all the
joys we had to go through, it reminds us our
friends and most importantly, teachers. My
Lola Daling also invited me to go on a trip
to Manila to visit my favorite tita who is
currently working there as an Engineer at
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. Iand my Lola took a bus going there. It took
us hours to get to Manila. When we arrived
Manila, my aunt fetched us. We stayed at
her apartment at Sampaloc, Manila. We
visited the Minor Basilica and National
Shrine of Jesus Nazarene, popularly known
as Quiapo Church. Every Friday of the
month, thousands of Catholic devotees may
be seen inside the church edging forward
on their knees towards the crucifix, praying
a favor, for a forgiveness. It is one of my
blessed experienced that happened in my
semestral break. It was full of fun as we
spent together. I, my Lola and my tita
always had a foodtrip. I experienced eating
at a Chinese and Japanese restaurant. The
foods and drinks was so delicious. We also
went to different places like in China Town,
Binondo, Divisoria, Makati and Alabang. I
did a lot of bonding time with my Lola and
tita during my vacation in Manila. It was the
best travel and experience ever!
Spending my time with my Lola and tita is very fun.Not only do they spill pearls of wisdom, but
also fills my life with abundance love and
care. The feeling of being around with them
cannot be described by words. The love and
affection shed by my aunt and Lola is
unmatched. They are my best buddies when
it comes to having unlimited fun. While my
mother tries to provide all she can for us,
my growth is incomplete without my
grandparents and aunties. And that is how I
spent my semestral break and I am very
thankful to God for this break, thus, it was
so relaxing, memorable and enjoyable for
me. I am so blessed that I got to experience
all of this. I learned a lot and hoping that my
next semestral breaks would be more fun,
exciting, fruitful and enjoyable. That is all I
want to share. Thank you!

Note
what about your favourite cherik fics of all time? (:
Dear anon, I am so sorry for the delay. I’ve been meaning to put this list for about a week now, but I feel as if I’m missing some fics. Most of these are fandom favourites and might not come as any surprise, but these are my all time favourite fics that I’ve probably read more than once and more than twice. I tried to keep a wide variety of fics, including both one-shots and multi-chapters as well as different genres. I hope you enjoy these fics as much as I do.
Earnestly-endlessly’s Favourite Cherik Fics
***********************************************
Anarchy in the U.K. – Yahtzee
Summary: “Good God, Erik thought. The Prince of Wales is gay.”
Charles lives in the unceasing glare of the public spotlight, yet keeps his sexual orientation a closely held secret, afraid he could lose his throne and force his deeply troubled younger sister into a role that would crush her. Erik, journalist and world traveler, has been a loner most of his life; he has little patience for closet cases. But a chance meeting in Kenya brings these two opposites together and sets in motion a love affair that will challenge the British monarchy – and their most deeply held beliefs about who they are, and who they should be.
Continuing Education – aesc and spicedpiano
Summary: To his students, Erik Lehnsherr is despotic and terrifying. To his department head, he’s the brilliant young researcher who abandoned his prestigious job overnight, moving across the country to join MIT’s faculty. But to Charles Xavier, he is a contradiction. As Erik and Charles settle into their new roles as colleagues, their professional rivalry starts to spill over into the personal.
The Sonnet Series – afrocurl, nekosmuse
Summary: Erik Lehnsherr is a visiting professor at Columbia University, as well as an acclaimed and award winning poet. Charles Xavier is a lead researcher with the Genetics Department who is well on his way to tenure. But what happens when Charles has to cancel a class because half his students abandon him in favour of a mysterious new English Lit professor? Naturally he ends up sitting in in the class, where Professor Lehnsherr mistakes him for a student. It’s really too bad Erik has such a strict policy against dating students. It’s also too bad Erik doesn’t seem to know how to use Google.
Bifurcation – spicedpiano
Summary: Bifurcation - (n.) the splitting of a main body into two parts.
In medicine, a single mistake can mean the difference between life and death.
For cardiothoracic surgeon Charles Xavier, a fatal error leaves him standing at a crossroads … and at the mercy of the man he has not faced since their relationship fell apart thirteen months ago.
Dr. Erik Lehnsherr has a fearsome reputation. Due to his incisive autopsy reports, he has gotten more surgeons fired in two years than any other pathologist has managed over an entire career. But when an old enemy returns to Erik’s life, he must find a way to temper his pride – or lose the man he loves, all over again.
Runs in the Family – Anonysquirrel (chibrisuchan)
Summary: In which mpreg!Charles Bakes All The Things, overprotective!Erik calls his small round tea-drinking husband “Vati’s little teapot”, Tony Stark/Bad Ideas is Stark Industries’ most profitable OTP, and Alex and Steve are somehow along for the ride. And the cookies.
For the Record – endingthemes
Summary: As prominent figures in the mutant rights movement, activists Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr are pretty much household names. When a romance scandal between them breaks, their celebrity reaches new heights, and though the increased exposure is great, there’s a big problem – the two of them are just friends.
Too bad no one believes them.
Rumor Mill – Ikeracity
Summary: Erik is the grumpiest, most foul tempered worker at Stark industries. His grumpiness is the stuff of legends. So it’s obviously the talk of the office when Erik is being made to go to the company party and he’s bringing his husband. There’s rumors flying round about how much of a masochist or equally antisocial bastard Erik’s husband must be to put up with him. Others think he must be a meek mouse perhaps bullied by Erik.
What they weren’t expecting was the confident, charming, adorable and unbelievably nice Charles that turns up on Erik’s arm. What they certainly weren’t expecting was how much Erik obviously adores his husband and how happy he is to let others see this.
Into Your Tar, Honey – tomato_greens
Summary: Really, Alex doesn’t know why he’s in the damn class. (Or, the one in which Charles teaches an online Introduction to Biology course, and Alex reads more than he expected to.)
If You Like The Book, You’ll Hate the Movie – paperclipbitch
Summary: Modern-Day High School AU. It’s not until Hank realises half the class are glancing towards the back of the classroom with something like nerves and something like schadenfreude that he finds out Alex Summers is back.
The boy with the heart on his sleeve – euphorbic
Summary: Charles loses a high-stakes bet to Raven and is required to get a tattoo. However, when he makes a disparaging remark about the art form, Raven’s acerbic mentor, Erik, steps in.
Or, the one where Erik and Raven are tattoo artists.
Enigma – Yahtzee
Summary: Written for the following prompt: Erik dies, or finds a reversey-time mutant, or a magical time travelling device, and wakes up in the past. This time, though, it’s before he ever met Charles - in fact, it’s before his mother died.
He can save his mother that one time (thanks to his mastery over powers carrying back), but what does Erik do after that? Does he stick around, or escape and run to find Charles again (and hope everything doesn’t go wrong)?
Mutually Beneficial Transaction – Pookaseraph
Summary: In his sophomore year at Columbia University, Erik, feeling slowly strangled by his mounting college debt, places an add on a sugar daddies website. He doesn’t know exactly what to expect from it, but when he’s contacted by a man named Charles who seems less creepy than the other people who have responded to his profile, he decides to give it a shot. Charles is nothing like what he expected, and Erik finds himself slowly falling in love with his sugar daddy while trying to find out exactly what caused this amazing guy to buy his emotional and sexual intimacy when he clearly deserves so much more than that.
Food, Family, and Friends with Benefits – endingthemes
Summary: “Everyone,” Edie says, voice bursting with pride. “Erik’s here, and he’s brought his friend.” She takes Charles’ arm and pulls him forward, presenting him like a shiny object. “This is Charles.”
Charles manages a weak wave and an even weaker, “Hello.”
(In which Charles gets dragged along to his fuck buddy’s parent’s house to celebrate a Jewish holiday, and things get weird.)
In Plain Sight – arcapelago (arcanewinter)
Summary: A story where Charles and Erik have basically been together from the first time they met. The whole fate, wow we found each other thing. Now I would like the others not to know and try to bring the two 'oblivious' guys together. They of course enjoy this quite a lot
Limited Release – rageprufrock
Summary: When Alex Summers broke out of supermax to rescue his stupid kid brother, he had no idea it was going to be so fucking complicated.
Daycare Verse – brilligspoons, pocky_slash
Summary: A modern AU in which Charles runs a mutant daycare and Erik is his long-suffering engineer boyfriend.
Marrying a Mob – Ook
Summary: Charles is a teacher at a very exclusive school. When armed men burst in on the trail of two children, of course he stands up to them and gets hurt. The children are Erik Lehnsherr's children (of course); a "prominent businessman" or, less politely, "mobster". Erik is grateful to Charles for saving his children's lives at the cost of his kneecap. So very grateful.Naturally he tries to reward Charles for his actions. Equally naturally, Charles will be having none of that.Azazel finds the whole thing unspeakably hilarious. Naturally.
Chessmen (XMFC/Inception fusion AU) – kaydeefalls
Boden’s Mate: “Shaw has information that we need, and we need him alive to extract it,” Moira says, and there it is: the job is on the table. Extraction.
XMFC/Inception fusion AU. Erik is an extractor, Alex is his point man. They’re assembling a team to go after the most dangerous mind in dreamsharing: Sebastian Shaw. But unless Alex and the team can keep him in check, Erik’s desire for vengeance might just rip the whole job apart around them – and then there’s the shade that haunts his dreams…
Queen’s Gambit: “My name is Nick Fury,” he tells Raven. “And I’m here to talk to you about Cain Marko.”
XMFC/Inception fusion, sequel to Boden’s Mate. Raven’s running her own extractions these days, but the job S.H.I.E.L.D.’s dumped in her lap is a real shitshow. Two marks, two simultaneous dreams, eleven dreamers, and a hell of a lot of baggage. Time to call in a few favors – and did she mention the job involves inception?
Tabula Rasa – kaydeefalls
Summary: Five ways Erik might have first met Charles.
Humane Society – smilebackwards
Summary: Once Erik finally allows himself to decide that Charles is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread, he spends the next week being incredibly bitter that he’s Charles’ cat and not his boyfriend.
Idiot Control Now – cygnaut
Summary: Hank screws something up in the lab and everyone’s powers increase tenfold. Not knowing how to control them like this, they all try to cope and not kill each other by mistake while Hank tries to find a way to reverse the effects. Charles has a particularly hard time of it.
White Nights – spicedpiano, tahariel
Summary: Duke Erik Lehnsherr of Ironhold needs an omega to carry on his line, and Earl Charles Xavier of Westchester needs an alpha to give him the political leverage he needs in order to make his sister Queen. An arranged marriage brings them together, but Erik’s lust for war and Charles’ hidden agenda threaten to tear them apart. In the frozen Northlands of Ironhold life is hard and cold, and both Charles and Erik must give up their pretense and see each other as they really are: perfect for each other, if only they’ll acknowledge it.
Nation Building and other Diplomatic Negotiations – Pookaseraph
Summary: With the recent passage of a submissive registration law in the United Kingdom, there are now only two industrialized nation with a relatively stable government to have neither a mutant nor a submissive registration law. Erik Lehnsherr, the newly minted King of Genosha, and his Prime Minister Emma Frost intend to take advantage of this turn of events to bring the Xavier Institute to the island nation of Genosha. They both know bringing Charles Xavier, the noted activist of mutant and submissive rights, to the island will necessarily politicize the man, and create all manner of complications. With a constitution not yet finalized and external threats to Genoshan security all around them, Erik, Emma, and Charles will fight for what they believe in to shape Genosha into what it should be.
A Genosha AU with moderate D/s elements.
Politico – cygnaut
Summary: Modern Genosha Politics AU. In which Erik is l'enfant terrible of the mutant National Assembly, and his staff just wants to get him laid.
The Courtship – dvs
Summary: A story about a courtship that began five hundred years ago.
This Family comes with Batteries – Fishwrites, lynneh
Summary: A orphaned Charles Xavier goes to live with his Godfather: Tony Stark. This story is a tale of what would have happened to the events of MCU, if Tony was raising a six year old telepath in Stark Tower. There is also the matter of Charles’ robot AI manny/bodyguard/tutor/only-friend, David.
Space Oddity – MonstrousRegiment, Pangea
Space Jam: Prince Charles Xavier is Deputy Commander of the TEF Heartsteel and the newest mission they’ve been assigned starts out less than desirable and quickly goes downhill from there. It’s alright, though, he’ll cope.
It doesn’t help, though, that he’s in unrequited love with his best friend and Commander of the Heartsteel, War-Prince Erik Lehnsherr.
Jupiter Jazz: Prince Charles Xavier is still Deputy Commander of the TEF Heartsteel and life has been great ever since he and his best friend and Commander of the Heartsteel, War-Prince Erik Lehnsherr, finally got all of their feelings out on the table. Better than great, really.
It doesn’t help, though, that the Nyrulians are a bit sore over him blowing up their ship, and a war is brewing. And because Charles has that kind of luck, they’re in the middle of it.
I have loved the stars too fondly: Erik and Charles, directly after the events of Jupiter Jazz.Nothing will ever be the same.
The stars incline us, they do not bind us – ikeracity, pangea
Summary: Intergalactic Federation pilot Lieutenant Charles Xavier is assigned last-minute to a high profile mission: transporting over two thousand prison inmates from an old and overfilled prison complex to a newer, higher-capacity prison stronghold located on the outer reaches of the galaxy. Just as he’s settling down for a long and uneventful ride, things take a turn for the worse after the inmates riot and stage a hostile takeover of the ship, leaving Charles to find himself at the complete mercy of cold-blooded killers and facing the chilling prospect that he might not ever make it back home alive.
Tough little baby telepath – aesc, pearl_o
Summary: Teenage telepath Charles Xavier takes a job as a consultant, working with prickly police detective Erik Lehnsherr. Charles is used to being on his own and taking care of himself; he has no reason to think that his relationship with this stern, icy man is going to change any of that.
An absence which could not be more there – aesc
Summary: He prepared to shift another half-step over to the Current Events section (which would, of course, enrage him) when the teaser positioned by the model’s left elbow caught his eye: DATING WHILE TELEPATHIC: WHY I DON’T DO IT.
Backseat ‘verse´ – tahariel
Summary: “Charles has a very sweet nature,” Raven is saying, her hand falling to the back of his head and stroking his hair very gently, carelessly affectionate. “He doesn’t need someone to force him down, he’s very happy to go there himself. If Erik is the sort to need a fight, then there’s no way I could let him have my brother.”
Simple and Uncomplicated – Pookaseraph
Summary: Erik and Charles had been fuck buddies for some, but when Charles is in an accident he figured their relationship would be over. Erik’s visit to his bedside in the hospital changes his assumptions even as he has trouble believing Erik is sincere.
Made To Be Broken – Yahtzee
Summary: Charles makes a New Year’s Resolution: “No more straight men,” Charles repeated as he began scrolling through the apartment directory for Emma’s name. “No more futility. No more pointless hoping and heartbreak. In 2013, I never want to hear the words ‘exception,’ ‘experimenting’ or ‘phase.’ If, God forbid, I hear ‘bicurious’ even once, I may take a hostage.” Then he goes into the party, and Erik is there.
Five Bullet Points – Sperare
Summary: It was supposed to be Erik locked away in a prison one hundred stories below the ground.
Charles was never supposed to be there with him.
Terrifying Domesticity – ishipitsobad
Summary: Erik is the most dangerous and notorious mafia boss around for miles, and yet the strangest things terrify him. For example: his children, and his very pregnant mate.
The Trouble With Telepaths – endingthemes
Summary: “Are you shy about me meeting your family?” Erik asks with a huge smile. “Are you kidding me?”“It’s not funny,” Charles says, his hands firmly planted on his hips, and it’s honestly hilarious so Erik laughs right in his face.(Or a Star Trek AU in which Captain Erik Lehnsherr pays a visit to First Officer Charles Xavier's home planet and encounters a few surprises.)
Stolen – ishipitsobad
Summary: Erik is a miserable, grumpy, cantankerous bastard, and he has every fucking right to be. He drew the short end of the stick when he got the Underworld as his domain, and there isn't very much fun to be had in judging and governing dead souls who would rather be anywhere else but with Erik in the depths of Hell.
So when he meets Charles, brilliant and lovely Charles who is more popularly known amongst the mortals as Persephone, and feels the promise of something wonderful that could make his eternally doomed existence infinitely more bearable... you can bet all your drachmas Erik's not going to let Charles go any fucking time soon.
The Mutant Games – TurtleTotem
Summary: "You'll be fine, darling," Charles murmured, half-asleep, into golden hair as Raven crawled sniffling into his bed. "Your name's only in there once, Raven. They're not going to pick you." (Hunger Games AU)
City by the sea – Black_Betty
Summary: It never bothered Charles that he essentially belonged to someone else from birth. Ever since he could remember he had been told stories about the mysterious prince who was his betrothed, and who one day would be called husband. As he grew older, Charles caught his thoughts drifting away from lessons under strict tutors, his mind slipping into the hazy daydream of his life yet to come…
In Shadow and in Silence – Yahtzee
Summary: Written for the following prompt: Erik is an aggressive, dangerous, cynical mutant, hardened from years of being passed through private laboratories and used for experimentation. He’s covered in surgical scars from operations, tattooed and bar coded like a lab rat, and blind from an experiment done on his eyes. … Charles Xavier finds out about him. Charles runs a sort of sanctuary for mutants that provides lost, abandoned, abused, runaway mutants with shelter, comfort, and help with ability control. He thinks he can rehabilitate Erik and save him from execution, and convinces the government that he can.
When Erik arrives, he is a lot worse than Charles thought he would be … Everyone else can see that Erik is a nuclear bomb waiting to go off, but Charles refuses to give up on him. …
The first time Charles sneaks up on him wearing no metal, it triggers him and he reacts instinctively, with violence. … Erik discovers why Charles understands him so well: he was once used in experiments as well, experiments run by his own family, and in one of them, he lost his voice, so he uses his telepathy to communicate.
Blind Erik, mute Charles, the love.
Everyday Love in Stockholm – tahariel
Summary: Prompt: Magneto is the ruler of the posthuman world. His only secret? Charles Xavier, the human he’s kept locked in his bedroom ever since his right-hand woman, Mystique, came to him pleading for mercy for her stepbrother, who accepted her mutant form and protected her as a child. The human he started fucking after Mystique was killed in battle, despite the guilt he feels at contaminating even this last promise to the woman who was integral to his life’s work and happiness.
The Tower and the Hurricane – dreamlittleyo
Summary: (Post-movie AU.) Five years after Shaw's death, Erik's predictions prove painfully accurate. Violence rages on both sides of the human/mutant conflict. In a world ravaged by war, it doesn't really matter who's more at fault. Charles struggles to teach his students a better way, but what choices will he make when peace really isn't an option?
Honest Bone and Burning Thought – Black_Betty
Summary: And so sometimes, his mind buzzing away, bright and brilliant and humming with pure expansive energy, Charles speaks without thinking at all. Without censoring himself. Without realizing that his brain has reached out and snatched something that was never his to know, or take…
The Attempt – Yahtzee
Summary: Written for the following prompt: Charles knows everything about Erik, knows how obsessive and self-destructive he is, how Erik would do anything, give anything, in his quest for vengeance against Shaw. But he also knows that Erik loves him in ways that aren't exactly platonic. I'd like to see a completely straight!Charles, out of pure love and care of Erik, initiate a romantic relationship with him. It can be because he wishes to give Erik something positive in his life or because he thinks it might help change Erik's mind about Shaw, the reason is up to author. Also, while Charles finds intimacy with Erik strange and awkward, he does enjoy the new, non-romantic layers that have developed in their relationship.

Amilyn Holdo is a student that’s just trying to get through school without distractions and then study to become a politician
And that five foot Fierce brunette is not helping in any way at all

And all of a sudden that five foot fierce brunette is Amilyn’s girlfriend
And Anakin finally finds out who Han is dating when Leia brings home her own partner

Lando also starts hanging around the group more as well
Kylo finally gains enough courage (With a lot of help from Jess) to confess his feelings for Hux
And Hux just kinda nervously and awkwardly rejects him
The two start ignoring each other after that, Hux going back to reading by himself while Kylo still hangs out with Rey and the gang, all the while being very quiet and sad
That goes on for two months, and the gang just says that they should work it out themselves
Rey grows more and more frustrated though and eventually confronts Hux about it because what the hell man, talk to him at least!
Hux reveals that he was raised in a homophobic household by his father, and as a closeted gay he did not know how to deal with that
He’d never before thought of Kylo as anything more than but a friend, but after he confessed Hux started to think of the small things he liked about Ren
And before he knew it himself he was crushing, which scared him a lot
Rey calmed down, and just sorta tried to push him to talk to Kylo
Which he did, he got a ride on Rey’s bike to Kylo’s house and the two talked
Then Hux asked him out on a date
And Kylo answered by kissing him firmly
And they never spoke about it to Hux’s father or Kylo’s foster father Snoke, because getting disowned at fourteen would not have been pretty
The gang celebrated it with Pizza night though, and Finn and Poe came clean about their relationship that had been going on for four years, and the others got playfully mad
Jess also took this opportunity to ask Rey out, and she just shrugged and said Ok, because what has she to loose really
The two are a very down to earth couple
Since Poe’s and Finn’s relationship is out, Phasma insists on meeting her sons boyfriends
Yeah right umm, Bee Bee and Benine started dating, forgot to mention that
The night ends up being very chill, Poe and Bee Bee got along really well which made their boyfriends happy and Phasma liked them both
#Phasmaapproves
Sabine and Zeb starts to push Ezra into having a relationship too, one because they want to win the bet and two because their brother needs to get out of the house more
Ezra complains to Jai and Zare about this, and also tells them about the apparent bet that he’d overheard them talk about, and Jai gets all smug and suggests an idea that makes both Ezra and Zare all flustered
So the next day during the Syndulla-Jarrus household, Ezra announces that he, Jai and Zare are in a relationship
Sabine and Zeb grumble as they give Hera their money, as her bet was on both
Ezra gets annoyed
When ‘Soka finishes collage with a high degree and looks for a job, she gets a sudden impulse to get contact again with her childhood best friend/girlfriend Barriss Offee
So she drives to where they had moved and knocks on the door while her Anxiety is screaming at her to get the fuck out of there
Aayla opens the door with a surprised expression, and Ahsoka nervously asks where Barriss lives nowadays
Aayla replies with a wide grin, and when ‘Soka had left she immediately tells Luminara and Shaak
Ahsoka takes two hours to must up the courage to knock on Barriss’ apartment door
And when Barriss opens they both just stare at each other for at least a minute
Barriss hardcore blushing cuz Ahsoka got HOT
And TALL
Ahsoka nervously says hi, and Barriss invites her in with an extremely red face
They both sit awkwardly with a cup of tea in front of them for a while, before Ahsoka ends up apologizing for breaking their contact
That’s when they get talking
And set up a date the next day
And boom, two years later wedding invites are sent out
The pair ends up adopting a girl named Ashla, because she’s got Vitiligo like me Barriss, how can we not?!?!
And yeah, this is kinda where the AU ends. I can keep adding stuff, but it will be kinda dragged out after a while.
Hope you enjoyed it, and feel free to send me asks about Ideas and thoughts you had about it

Future Ties: A Family Ties-Back to the Future Fan Fiction
Just posting the first couple parts of my fan fiction here. Will continue the fan fiction another day when I have more written.
It’s a fic about Marty McFly and Alex P. Keaton meeting in Hill Valley in 1985! Before the events of Back to the Future take place. Alex is in college now, of course, and Marty is still stuck in high school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope you enjoy! :)
Alex P. Keaton was not happy. In fact, he was miserable. He bemoaned the fact that his family simply did not care. Lugging his suitcase, he nearly tripped over himself as he groaned yet again to his parents.
“Groan one more time, Alex, and I swear you’ll get stuffed into your suitcase for good!” his mother, Elyse, snapped, turning abruptly to face Alex, anger in her eyes.
“He’s certainly short enough to fit in one,” Alex’s sister, Mallory, remarked, a sly smile on her lips. Although Mallory wasn’t that much younger than Alex – only by a year or two – Alex always felt like the more mature sibling of the two by a mile.
Alex gave a sarcastic laugh. “Very funny. My wonderful sister, everyone.” He groaned again. “Steven, Elyse.” His mother and father gave him a slight glare, as they didn’t like being called by their first name by Alex. “Why California, though? It’s the most shallow, depraved, boring state in the whole wide world.”
“Aren’t you being a little melodramatic?” Elyse asked, as Alex fervently shook his head. “Now, this is a family vacation, Alex. We decided as a family to enjoy this time together. Whether you like it or not. So, enjoy it now!”
“Geez, mom. No need to get so huffy. I was only saying my true feelings on the matter. Believe me, you’ll come round eventually to see my point of view. California really is-.”
“Can someone please shut him up?” Jennifer, Alex’s youngest sister, asked tiredly. “Are we going to hear this the whole trip? Alex this, Alex that. I’m tired of it already.”
“You said it, sis,” Mallory agreed, giving Jennifer a small hug. “But I can’t wait to finally see Hollywood! All my life has been waiting for this moment. The lights, the stars, the movies! I just can’t wait!”
“Mallory, you’re not going to become the next big Hollywood star on our family trip,” Alex said, grinning slightly. “I think they’re looking for someone a little more-.”
“Alright, Alex. That’s enough,” Steven, Alex’s father, said tiredly. “Just please let Mallory have her fun.”
“Yeah, Alex. Let me have my fun.” Mallory grinned, clearly enjoying where this conversation had led. Alex frowned again. He was about to say something else, then silently shook his head, thinking better of it.
“Mom, Dad?” Jennifer asked, tugging at Elyse’s shirt. “Can we see any of the baseball stadiums while we’re here, please?”
“Of course, Jennifer,” Elyse answered, giving her youngest a smile.
Now it was Mallory’s turn to groan. “Baseball stadiums? Really? When we’re in Hollywood of all places?”
Alex placed a loving hand on Mallory’s shoulder. “Come on, Mallory. Let Jennifer have her fun. Don’t spoil the trip for all of us.”
“Shut up, Alex.”
“Now, kids. Play nice.” Steven placed a tired hand on both of his children’s shoulders, a deep frown on his lips. “Now, I want this to be a nice, relaxing family vacation for all of us. No fighting. No teasing. Do you understand?”
“Aww…but Alex is such a ripe target,” Jennifer said sadly. “This vacation isn’t going to be fun at all.” Mallory couldn’t help but smile, as Alex gave Jennifer a quizzical stare.
Alex’s family would always be teasing him about something. He certainly was a ripe target by their standards. Although he loved his family, of course, sometimes it was just a little too much. One more joke about his small stature and he was sure he’d go off on them any day now.
“Now,” Steven continued, “we’re going to go to the rental car place without any problems. We’re going to rent the car. No fighting for the front seat. That honor belongs to Elyse.” All three Keaton children groaned at this news.
“Thank you, Steven.” Elyse nodded her approval.
“Wait, wait, wait a minute,” Alex began before anybody could stop him. “I’m oldest, so shouldn’t I get that honor? I mean, look at what I have to put up with every day. I’m not going to be squeezed in the back with them again. I’m in college now! I believe I deserve a break.”
“Very succinct argument,” Elyse remarked. “But I’m your mom, so I get it. End of story.”
Alex groaned again. This vacation was steadily getting worse.
“He’s too short to see over the dashboard, anyway,” Mallory giggled, as Alex shot her a glare. Jennifer giggled along with Mallory, as the Keaton parents tried to calm them down.
“Next time I’m choosing the next vacation spot,” Alex fumed.
“We’ll see,” Elyse answered tiredly, stifling a yawn. “Now, come on! The rental car is almost ready. It’s almost time to see California!” She gave a little cheer, as Mallory and Jennifer joined in. Alex stood there miserably, clutching his suitcase for support.
He would rather be anywhere but here. He could be in London, educating himself at the museums. He could be in New York City, learning about stocks. Or he could be back home in Ohio, hanging with Skippy and his other friends, instead of with his family. They didn’t seem to care how miserable he was now.
The children all squeezed into the back of the rental car, Jennifer, being the smallest, taking the middle seat. Alex silently watched out the window, as the car left LAX and started its course towards the most boring trip of all time. Alex lamented this to himself, as he watched the traffic and fumes outside the window.
“So, Hollywood first?” Mallory asked, leaning forward excitedly.
“Well, actually,” Steven began, as both Mallory and Jennifer looked distraught, “I want to start with something a little quieter. Both me and your mom, at least. We think we’re going to stop by this little town called Hill Valley first. It has some very interesting history that we both want to take a look at.”
“But Hollywood!” Mallory exclaimed.
“And my stadiums!” Jennifer chimed in.
Mallory and Jennifer pouted, but Alex couldn’t help but grin. “Now, guys. Listen to mom and dad,” he started slowly. “I’m sure they have a very good reason for choosing this place. So, tell me more about this Hill Valley!” He coughed slightly. “Please,” he added, as his family gave him a glare.
“That’s easy for you to say. You don’t even want to be on this trip,” Mallory whined.
“Well, things change for Alex P. Keaton.” Alex grinned, as Mallory gave him a playful shove. Steven and Elyse just sighed.
And for Alex P. Keaton, at least, this vacation was already looking up.
Things were not looking up for Marty McFly. He had had his first tardy of the year, and Mr. Strickland had really beat him down about it, calling him a “slacker” in front of his entire math class. At times like these, Marty really detested school.
“Marty, you have to come to school on time,” his girlfriend, Jennifer, told him that day, giving him a tight squeeze as she did so. “No more hanging with Doctor Brown in the morning. It’s really throwing you off schedule.”
Oh, Jennifer Parker. How Marty loved her, except for when she tried to make his life better.
“Come on, Jennifer. Don’t worry. I got this.” Marty gave her a timid smile. “There’s no way I’m going to stop hanging with the Doc just because Mr. Strickland is out to get me. Where would be the fun in that?”
“But, Marty-.”
“Jennifer, don’t worry. I got this.” He gave her another timid smile, as Jennifer gave a slight nod of affirmation.
“How are things at home, Marty? Is your mom drinking again?”
“Things are fine,” Marty answered shortly, although his lazy speech inflection had all but disappeared. Jennifer frowned but didn’t say anything else. “I gotta go,” Marty continued quickly. “The Doc’s got something to show me tonight.”
“Marty-.”
“I’ll catch you later, right?” Marty leaned forward and gave Jennifer a small kiss on the lips. She smiled, as Marty couldn’t help but grin.
Grabbing his skateboard, he began the long ride home. Looking back, he saw Jennifer give a tiny wave of her hand, before she disappeared from view.
He knew in his heart that Jennifer was probably right about Doctor Emmett Brown. Doc Brown, or “Doc,” as Marty affectionately called him, was the local mad scientist in Hill Valley, and multiple people had told Marty to stay away from him. Yet Marty couldn’t help it. He had to see him. Besides Jennifer, who else would listen to him? His own family? No way!
The Doc always listened to his problems and gave him good advice. The Doc was more family than his family ever would be.
Turning into the driveway of his house, he took a deep breath. Another day at home with Biff bullying his father, George, and his mother, Lorraine, drinking herself through the liquor cabinet, while his brother and sister fought over the TV. Just another average day in the McFly household.
Seeing Biff’s car in the driveway, Marty let out a groan. Biff Tannen was his father’s manager and main bully, ever since his high school days. If Marty had his way, he would have clocked Biff in the face a long time ago.
As soon as he entered the house he saw his family doing what they did best: arguing, and in his mom’s case, drinking. Stealing up to his room, he dropped into bed, feeling exhausted.
Hoping something would come to light up his miserable life, he fell asleep to Biff’s demands floating up the stairwell.
“What do you mean we’re stuck?” Mallory asked, looking shaken.
“It means the car can’t start,” Steven answered, sounding exasperated, as he tried once again to rev up the engine.
“Stuck here? In Hill Valley of all places?” Mallory groaned. “Dad, why did you have to do this? Why couldn’t we just stay in Hollywood?”
Steven was about to answer, when Alex, feeling rejuvenated, cut in. “Mallory, Mallory, Mallory. Just give Steven and Elyse a break and enjoy the vacation. Really, Mallory. You need to act more like an adult. Like me.”
Mallory looked like she was about to punch Alex, when Elyse stepped in. “Alex, that’s enough. And stop calling us Steven and Elyse. We’re still your mom and dad.” Elyse then turned to Mallory. “We need to get some help. If anybody in this town knows a gas station or someone who can fix cars, that would be greatly appreciated. Or we’re going to be stuck here a long time.” She then turned to Alex. “Alex? As oldest child, who is, as you like to put it many times, in college now, do you volunteer?”
Alex leapt in his seat at once. “Volunteer for what? El-Mom!”
“To find some help. And nice catch there.” She smiled. “Come on, Alex. We’re not asking for much. Just to be an adult like you so eloquently put it.”
“I’d better not have to take out the trash anymore,” Alex muttered to himself.
“What?” Elyse asked.
“Nothing! Alright, I’ll do it. If I can strike up a deal-.”
“Alex!”
“Okay, okay. We’ll talk the particulars later.” He hopped out of the car, and gave a short wave to the rest of the Keatons. “I’ll come back with good news, I promise.”

Note: I hope you enjoy this story! You may also find this story on FanFiction.Net or Archive of Our Own.
Story Summary:  "It's my fault the Chaos Emeralds were lost, so it's my duty to find them before Eggman does!" An immediate prequel to Sonic X, this story explores Tails' struggles with self-worth as he attempts to build a detector to locate the mystical gems. Action/adventure elements with brotherly moments between Sonic and Tails contained herein.
Chapter 1: A Brighter Day
Waking up a few minutes before his alarm clock was set to go off, a young, orange fox rose out of bed, stretching his thin, furry arms. After a few brief yawns, muffled by his large white gloves, he firmly planted his feet to the floor as he began to collect his bearings.
Rubbing the remaining sleep from his eyes, the fox cub approached the window dividing his modest bedroom from the gorgeous view from the second floor of his home, drew the curtains, and slowly opened the window. While the rejuvenating sunlight warmed his fur, and the brisk breeze replaced the stagnant aroma of his bedroom with the refreshing smell of the outdoors, Tails looked out over the world beyond. As he slowly filled his lungs with the outdoor air, he listened to the sound of flickys chirping in the distant forest to the east and the shallow waves of the ocean waters to the west, steadily crashing against the mountainside.
“Today is going to be a good day,” Tails said as he placed his hands on his hips in determination.
After making his early morning prediction of the day’s events, and stealing one final stretch, Tails stepped out of his bedroom into the narrow hallway leading to the staircase.
“Wonder if Sonic’s still asleep,” he pondered to himself as he crept his way across the second floor stretch, walking past his big brother’s bedroom in the process. Twitching his triangular ears in the direction of the occupied bedroom, Tails could only make out the consistent sound of light snoring coming from the blue hedgehog.
Walking a bit more briskly, but still light enough to prevent the bitter end of Sonic’s well-deserved slumber, Tails finally made it to the main floor of their home, comprised of a moderately-sized, sparsely-furnished living room and an open kitchen, complete with a small table wide enough to accommodate a gathering of four.
Stepping outside to begin his daily morning routines, Tails performed a visual survey of his property for any damage caused by the thunderstorm the prior evening. While Tails could be fearless when fighting Eggman’s array of mechs alongside his big bro, the young kitsune had a devastating fear of thunderstorms, a phobia that caused him to roll into a fetal position and bury his face into the fluffy protection of his twin tails.
After walking along the perimeter of his yard, Tails was relieved to find that his home completely withstood the ravaging storm. Then again, why wouldn’t it have? Even a tornado would’ve failed to do a modicum of damage to the brilliantly engineered, albeit almost plain-looking homestead. In fact, if it weren’t for the large satellite sticking out from the top of the roof, the adjoining workshop that was at least twice the size of his living quarters, and the large runway strip that led right off of the cliff overlooking the ocean, most would consider the house nothing extraordinary.
But this was to the liking of Tails, a scientific and mechanical prodigy who prioritized utility over style and would rather prevent unwanted attention.
“That’s Sonic’s job, after all,” Tails said to himself, lost in a daydream while gazing upon the deep blue ocean, a sight that never ceased to bore the young fox. This was in stark contrast to his older brother, who was unable to swim and feared any body of water larger than a pitcher. Not as much as Tails’ overwhelming fear of lightning, but still enough to refuse Tails’ offer to provide him with basic swimming lessons.
Tails made a quick stop to the mailbox before coming back inside, grabbing a freshly delivered letter. Sitting down at the kitchen table, he delicately opened the envelope to reveal a typed message on thick cardstock paper, complete with official-looking letterhead.
The letter read:
Dear Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles “Tails” Prower,
On behalf of the Mobian Federation of States, I would like to commend your continued support in the collective struggle against Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik to keep the citizens of Mobius safe from his evil schemes.
In recognition of your outstanding bravery and commitment to protecting the innocent, the President of the Mobian Federation of States has indefinitely extended your service contract and increased your compensation by 15 percent.
May you stay in good health and continue the good fight.
Sincerely,
General H.W. Pitliff
“Outstanding bravery, huh?” Tails questioned to himself, putting the letter down and resting his head with both arms against the table. His muscles tensed as memories of being saved by his big bro filled his thoughts. Feelings of self-doubt and worthlessness followed suit, creeping back up from the recesses of his mind.
Tails was a master mechanic whose quick cognitive processing power had helped Sonic thwart Eggman’s dastardly deeds time and time again, but despite this, the prodigious fox was often overcome with anxiety, feeling he wasn’t living up to his big brother’s legacy and, worse yet, only serving as a liability on the battlefield, cowering with fear the instant the duo were separated in the heat of combat.
As far as he could tell, he’d always been like this; back in the day, Tails was constantly bullied for his twin tails, a rare genetic mutation that made him stand out amongst all other Mobians. Coupled with the lack of parents to provide a warm, comforting home, the abnormal kit roamed the lands until he first met Sonic, who’d later adopt him as his little brother. Just being around him washed away his loneliness and crippling self-doubt, but even living with the one whom he greatly admired hadn’t cured his emotional woes.
“Clearly this letter was intended for Sonic,” Tails said with a sigh, twirling the letter along the surface of the table with a finger.
“Intended for me?” came a voice from behind the young fox. Tails turned around to see Sonic, wide awake and emitting his ever-present positive aura.
“Heya Sonic,” Tails said, his sadness instantly replaced with joy upon his brother’s unexpected arrival to the kitchen, smiling wide enough to brighten anyone’s day.
Before Tails could explain the good news, Sonic dashed over to the kitchen table and snatched up the expensive-looking paper. He gave a long whistle as he finished reading the letter.
“Let’s do something fun to celebrate!” Sonic exclaimed. “Anything you’d like to do, Tails?”
The young fox pondered potential ideas for a few moments, rubbing one set of fingers against his furry chin in thought.
“Well, I guess my idea of a good time vastly differs from yours!” Tails said, giggling to himself.
“Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?” Sonic asked with no hint of seriousness in his voice.
“Oh, nothing,” Tails replied. “I was just imagining you sitting quietly in a library reading a book.”
Both Sonic and Tails laughed at this ludicrous idea.
“Well,” Sonic said. “I’m sure we’ll think of something to do.”
“As long as we don’t break the bank, I’m up for almost anything,” Tails said, subtly reminding Sonic that they shouldn’t dent their savings account by partying. While the duo was not strapped for cash by any means, especially since they had just received a raise from their freelance government partnership, Tails was solely responsible for balancing the checkbook and ensuring that their household remained fiscally solvent, a duty that he took quite seriously.
“Of course,” Sonic agreed, as he began to playfully rustle Tails’ hair. “Now, how about we fuel up before our morning run?”
******
Some time later, after Sonic and Tails enjoyed a delectable three-course breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and toast, the brothers began their morning run preparations. Sonic, who had already gotten a few stretches in while Tails finished washing the dishes, dashed outside in anticipation of his favorite pastime. Meanwhile, Tails prepared more slowly, ensuring that he didn’t cramp-up after consuming more food than someone his size should be able to stomach.
“C’mon, Tails!” Sonic called from outside, as he performed his signature foot tap. “The day is wasting away.”
“Coming, Sonic!” Tails replied, hopping on one foot out the door as he slipped on his sneakers.
“Ya know,” Sonic began, chuckling at the sight of Tails hobbling out of the house. “You’d save so much time if you just wore your shoes everywhere like me.”
“Yeah, and get dirt everywhere,” Tails retorted, continuing a long-running debate between the two companions that pitted convenience against cleanliness.
Instead of prolonging this friendly spat, though, Sonic took his place at the edge of the yard, facing the direction of the wooded path to the east that served as the daily stomping grounds for the two brothers. Taking the hint, Tails quickly joined him.
In unison, Sonic and Tails gave their pre-race countdown.
“Three…two…one…go!”
And with that, they were off.
******
Making their way through the green planes on the outskirts of the Mystic Ruins, any passersby would likely only see parallel blue and orange blurs speed past them, with the former going slightly faster than the latter. While Tails could run at impressive speeds on-foot, there was absolutely no way the young kitsune could keep up with the “fastest thing alive” without using his trademarked twin tails as propellers.
“C’mon, Tails,” Sonic playfully taunted as he began running backwards for comedic effect. “You’re too slooo-oww!”
Aided by Sonic’s goading words of encouragement, Tails kicked it into high gear, spinning his Tails faster in order to prove his speedy brother wrong.
And he almost did.
Flustered by Tails’ rapid advancement, Sonic spun back around to continue their friendly racing competition.
“First one to that oak tree is a rotten egg-man!” Sonic declared, widening the narrow gap between the companions.
“You won’t win that easily,” Tails replied, ensuring that Sonic would have to work up a sweat if he were to beat him.
As Sonic was about to touch the oak tree, solidifying his continued winning streak, he heard a yelp from behind.
Tails had focused so much on rapidly spinning his tails that he didn’t see the incoming tree trunk that stood as the only obstacle between him and victory. Not having enough time to increase his altitude, Tails’ dangling feet collided with the trunk, causing him to lose his balance mid-flight and dive headfirst into the ground. Before impact, however, Tails took to his spherical shape, rolling down the remainder of the path towards the oak tree, only his namesakes distinguishable in an otherwise blurry orange ball.
Sonic watched in awe as his little brother quickly recovered from the fall by adapting his signature rolling technique. Unfortunately for the blue hedgehog, though, Tails was rapidly rolling towards him much faster than he anticipated. Without enough time to defend himself, or jump out of the way, Tails barreled right into Sonic’s chest, launching the hedgehog back-first into the oak tree.
After sliding to the ground, and shaking the imaginary flickys from his vision, Sonic looked down to see the young fox, resting on his lap, panting heavily, sweat soaking through his orange fur coat.
“Are you alright?” Sonic asked. He took no damage from Tails’ unintentional attack, but even if he did, his priority would always be the safety and protection of his little bro.
“Did I…” Tails struggled to speak between gasps for air. “Did I…win, Sonic?”
After a few moments of pause, Sonic replied, “Yes, Tails…Yes you did.”
“Hooray,” Tails said in a slow, quiet voice, hardly able to keep his eyes open from utter exhaustion.
“Good job, buddy…I’m proud of you,” Sonic said. Tails smiled brightly before dozing off to sleep in the comforting arms of his big bro.
Sonic allowed himself to get comfortable, not wanting to disturb Tails’ peaceful slumber. Placing his arms behind his head, gazing up at the mid-morning sky, Sonic allowed his mind to wander.
Tails needs this. He tries so hard to make me proud. Little does he know how much I already am.
Basking in the comfort of the cool breeze and the warm sun peeking through the tall oak’s wide branches, Sonic succumbed to sleep himself, allowing his arms to fall from behind his head and gently land beside Tails.
******
By the time Tails woke from his morning nap, the sun was already high in the sky, reflecting over the small lake just down the hill from the tree. Apart from a slight stiffness from lying in a semi-awkward position, the fox felt well-rested and in good spirits.
I wonder where Sonic is.
Of course, Tails didn’t need to look far. Not seeing him within his peripheral vision, he tilted his head up to see his big brother sleeping soundly behind him, resting against the oak tree which now served as a permanent reminder that, with great perseverance, even he could overcome his obstacles.
In this case, it was finally beating Sonic at his own game.
Careful not to disturb the heavy-eyed hedgehog, Tails slowly rose from his comfortable naptime position, planting his short legs firmly to the ground while brushing himself off with his gloved hands, even though he wasn’t dirty at all. Tails peered down at his older brother, still sound asleep after their thrilling race a short while ago.
I suppose it’s time to wake up.
The orange kitsune looked around to see how best to disturb Sonic’s slumber. He didn’t need to look far, noticing a small branch a few feet away with a small green leaf attached to the far end. Chuckling to himself in anticipation, Tails grabbed the twig from the leafless end, got down to his knees, and slowly drew the branch closer to his sleeping friend. Tails was careful to ensure that the wood didn’t touch his face as he positioned the leaf below Sonic’s black nose.
The sensation of a flat, smooth surface rubbing against his nose slowly brought the sleeping hedgehog back into consciousness.
“Tickle, tickle, tickle, tickle,” Tails said, as if talking to a baby, attempting to laugh his brother awake.
“Heh heh, cut it out!” Sonic said between bouts of laughter.
This, of course, only egged Tails on further, as he tickled Sonic’s sensitive nose more ferociously than before, causing the hedgehog to roll from side to side while laughing so loud as to disturb the birds roosting in the tree above. As Sonic stopped rocking and rolling below the big oak, he slowly tilted his head back, opening his mouth in preparation for a signature Sonic sneeze.
Tails was caught unawares, lost in his quest to continue tickling his older brother until he couldn’t take it anymore.
“AaaaCHOO!” Sonic sneezed, directly in Tails’ direction. Of course, while the force of the sneeze was small, the loud noise caused Tails to lose his footing and fall backwards. Almost by instinct, Tails rolled back into a ball before making impact with the ground, causing him to roll downhill.
By this point, Sonic resumed his raucous laughter, although not from tickling, but from his little bro’s comical clumsiness.
Splash!
Sonic stopped his laughter and immediately faced the nearby lake. At first, he only saw the patch of disturbed water, bubbles rising to the surface, but then an orange shape began bobbing up and down in the lake. Only the back of Tails’ head, his back, and his namesakes were visible as his seemingly lifeless body floated still in the deep blue water below.
“Tails!” Sonic exclaimed as he ran to save his little brother from drowning.
Sonic dove headfirst into the water mere feet from the lifeless fox. The blue hedgehog flapped his arms in the surprisingly deep waters for a few seconds before securely placing his hands on Tails’ shoulders, half-sunk below the water’s surface. It was at that moment the small kitsune’s propeller tails sprang to life, raising the fox above the water, leaving Sonic to fend for himself.
“Ho ho ho!” Tails bellowed, imitating the laugh of a certain evil mastermind while depicting a fake moustache with his finger. “It looks like I’ve finally got rid of that meddlesome hedgehog!”
Sonic, meanwhile, continued splashing about in the water, doing his best to keep his head from bobbing below the surface. After a few more laughs, Tails hovered close to the drowning hedgehog, extending an arm out to help his blue friend out of the lake. Sonic gladly accepted the assist, their hands locking together before Tails transported them both back to the safety of the oak tree.
Sonic laid flat on his back upon returning to dry land. Tails joined him, still laughing under his breath.
“I thought I was a goner for a second!” Sonic exclaimed, shifting his head to see his younger bro staring back.
“Yeah, but you should know that I’d never let you drown,” Tails replied with a hint of humorous sarcasm.
As Sonic and Tails’ laughter slowly started to die out, the two companions stared up at the clouds, allowing enough sunlight to naturally dry their wet fur from their lakeside escapade.
“You know, Sonic,” Tails began, placing his arms behind his head in a fashion not unlike Sonic. “Don’t you wish that everyday could be like this?”
“What d’ya mean, little buddy?”
“You know…just the two of us hanging out and having fun. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more at peace.”
Sonic looked over at his younger brother once more, all but confirming Tails’ current emotional state as he stared at the sky, a smile on his face, not a care in the world.
“Ya know, Tails,” Sonic replied as he stood up from the refreshingly warm grass and lowered an arm in Tails’ direction. “As long as we keep Eggman at bay, what is there to stop us from always having fun?”
Tails thought to himself as he allowed Sonic to pull him up from the ground. “I guess nothing, now that I think about it.”
“Then it’s settled,” Sonic said, pressing his fist against the palm of his other hand. “We won’t allow anyone to stand in the way of our adventures, and if they do, they’ll have to answer to us!”
“You said it!” Tails replied, flashing a thumbs up that was quickly met with Sonic’s own mere moments later.
“Now let’s say we get ourselves home,” Sonic said, pointing back in the direction of their abode. “It’s almost time for lunch.”
Tails nodded in agreement. “Maybe after lunch I can get back to working on my latest project.”
“What about our party plans?” Sonic asked, as they both started walking towards the direction of their shared abode.
“To be honest,” Tails replied, “spending a nice, quiet afternoon in my workshop is as much excitement as I’ll ever need.”
Sharing a few more laughs, the brotherly duo enjoyed a brisk walk back to their cozy, mountainside home.
******
Spacious by design, Tails’ workshop, directly connected to his shared home, was an absolute paradise for any professional mechanic. Spanning several yards in all directions, and equipped with two floors, the well-organized space was full of workbenches, high-tech computers, complex tools, storage cabinets several times taller than Tails himself, and a host of spare parts, components, wheels, gadgets, widgets, doodads, and other advanced contraptions beyond the comprehension of most.
The mid-afternoon sun poured through an open window on the east side of the facility as the young kitsune sat at his messiest workbench, tinkering with a handheld device with one hand while taking a large bite out of his half-eaten chilidog with the other.
A droplet of sweat rolled down Tails’ forehead as he focused on meticulously taking apart the contraption, a ritual that he had repeated several times that afternoon alone.
“Maybe if I recalibrate the sensors, I’ll be able to get a reading,” Tails theorized to himself as he continued unscrewing components with his specialized multitool, his head bent over multiple work lamps.
“So this is the project, huh?” Sonic said from behind Tails’ chair. Sonic didn’t enter the workshop particularly quietly, but Tails was so involved in his work that he didn’t notice his big brother’s approaching steps.
“Woah!” Tails exclaimed. The surprise caused him to stand up with a jolt, only to hit his head on one of the overhead lamps. Rubbing the new bump on his noggin, Tails accidentally swiped the device and several loose components off the desk with his wandering tails. Reacting quickly, Sonic snagged the device and a few components before they could fall to the ground. The remaining pieces scattered around Tails’ chair, flipped over after his fright.
“Gosh, buddy…are you okay?” Sonic asked. He set the items he saved down on the table in order to properly inspect Tails’ head.
“Yeah…I think so,” Tails replied, moving his hand out of the way to allow the hedgehog to feel through the fur for any damage.
“It looks swollen already,” Sonic said, identifying the cranial bump. He looked down at his fingers to find a small amount of blood from Tails’ wound. “I’ll go and fetch a bandage and some cream,” he said, allowing the young fox a glimpse of his lightly bloodstained glove.
Before he could respond, though, Sonic was already gone, leaving a blue afterimage in his wake, before quickly returning with the items he promised: a square-shaped, sticky bandage and a small tube of antibiotic ointment.
“Thank you, Sonic,” Tails said in a somber voice, looking up at his big bro with wide eyes while Sonic applied the cream to the bruise.
“I shouldn’t be thanked at all,” Sonic replied, as he affixed the bandage to the bump. “After all, it was because of me that you got hurt in the first place.”
“But it was due to my clumsiness that I got startled over something so trivial,” Tails argued, always preferring to find fault with himself over others, especially when compared to Sonic. At this point, Tails was sitting back on his chair, looking down at Sonic’s shoes as the hedgehog eyed the fox with concern.
“Well, I gotta make it up to you somehow,” Sonic replied.
Still looking at the floor, Tails noticed his components scattered all around him. Ignoring his big brother’s offer, Tails got up and began picking up the pieces. Before he could grab the third component, however, Sonic dashed around the desk, swooping-up the pieces as he went, and placing them back onto Tails’ workbench.
“Heh heh, thanks Sonic,” Tails said, smiling while placing an arm behind his head. Sonic simply replied with a thumbs up.
Tails looked back at the device, resting undamaged near the pile of components. Tails got to work organizing the parts into smaller piles on the desk, giving at least some breathing room for the device so that he could better work on deconstructing it later.
“Mind if I help too?” Sonic asked.
“Well,” Tails replied. “I suppose organizing these components isn’t too difficult, so we can separate them out together.” Sonic rolled another chair over from a different workbench a few feet away and placed it next to his fox companion. He sat down, and they both got to work.
After a few minutes of meticulous organization, Sonic broke the silence.
“So, what’s the device you’ve been working on?” Sonic asked, eyeing the contraption that he saved from colliding with the floor moments ago.
“Oh,” Tails replied, just realizing that he never actually explained the project to Sonic. He picked it up and showed it to him. Its circular shape was covered by a glass screen, a small button resting at the top. It almost resembled a pocket watch, albeit larger and more technological looking.
“Well, you see, Eggman hasn’t caused any mayhem for a while, right?” Tails said, as he set the contraption down on the desk again.
“Right,” Sonic replied. “But what does that have to do with your project?”
“I’m getting to that,” Tails replied with a patient smile. “I fear that the good doctor may be up to no good, possibly trying to collect the Chaos Emeralds after they were scattered during our last showdown.”
“Oh yeah,” Sonic replied, thinking back to the last time they battled the evil mastermind. He remembered fighting one of the doctor’s large mechs before using the power of the emeralds to transform himself into Super Sonic, granting him a temporary boost in power that allowed the glowing, yellow hedgehog to fly and deal greater damage for a limited time.
At this point, Tails stood up from his chair once again and began pacing, fingers scratching his chin as his eyes looked down in thought.
“The process of re-collecting the emeralds is incredibly tedious,” Tails continued. “But what if we could track them down easily using a detector?”
After a few moments of pondering, Sonic replied, “That sounds like a brilliant idea, Tails!”
“Thank you very much,” Tails said, performing a humorous bow with his right arm against his belly as if he just concluded a theatrical show in front of a live audience. “But there is one problem that I’m unable to figure out.”
“Oh?” Sonic replied, stunned that his little brother encountered a mechanical quandary that he couldn’t solve with ease.
“Yeah,” Tails replied. “The issue is that I can’t get the detector to register the presence of the unique energy that emanates from the emeralds.”
“Huh,” Sonic replied, scratching his head. “If it’s any consolation, I probably could’ve taken out Eggman’s mech without the emeralds, so I probably shouldn’t have used them.”
“It’s fine, Sonic,” Tails replied, remembering how the mech had held him captive, unable to break free from the giant machine’s heavy grasp. He began to breath heavily as the memory of Super Sonic cutting through the thick arm of the robot and teleporting him to safety made him feel worthless, the self-loathing invading his thoughts once more. “I was the reason why you resorted to using the Chaos Emeralds in the first place,” Tails continued, a few tears beginning to well up in his eyes.
Sonic, unable to see his brother in pain, extended his arms. “It’s okay, Tails.”
Wiping the tears from his blurred vision, Tails saw Sonic approaching him for a hug. As soon as he entered into his brother’s embrace, his heart rate slowed and breathing eased.
Still choked up while hugging the blue hedgehog, Tails began to speak again.
“I figured that a device to help us gather them back up would make things right.”
“I’m sure this will make things easier,” Sonic replied, rubbing Tails’ back, “but don’t think for a second that it was your fault.”
Sonic ended the embrace, still holding onto Tails’ shoulders. His young companion sniffled a bit, looked down at the floor once again.
“Now how about you take a break from work and I prepare us some ice cream sundaes?” Sonic offered. This caught Tails’ attention.
“But it’s only three in the afternoon!” Tails countered, concerned about spoiling dinner.
“Okay, mother,” Sonic replied in a teasing voice, eliciting a playful shoulder punch from the orange kitsune, whose spirits appeared back on the upswing.
“Tell ya what,” Sonic offered. “I’ll prepare our treats while you finish cleaning up down here. Sound good?”
“Yes it does,” Tails replied with a smile, his eyes still slightly red from crying.
As Sonic left for the kitchen, Tails’ smile began to fade.
He stared intently at the semi-organized piles of components remaining on his workbench. He felt a little better, but the guilt, shame, and sense of incompetence were still ever-present in his mind.
Tails sighed as he returned to his workstation, sitting back down to continue the organizing that he and Sonic started.
“I’ll try my absolute hardest to make things right,” Tails said out loud to himself. “For the safety of my friends, and to prevent Eggman from gaining absolute power, we must prevail.”
I must prevail.

talk to the hand [ TIMOTHEE CHALAMET ], [ REED ‘NEWT’ NEWTON ] is the new kid on the block around here. at [ TWENTY ], the [ CIS BOY] works at [ BABBAGE’S ] in the mall and, like, [ HE ] totally reminds us of [ CHANDLER BING ]. oh snap! what? their favorite movie is [ HOME ALONE ]???? so is mine!
ABOUT THE MUN.  i used to lie to y’all, my mom didn’t say no, i did
i hate this site man. and that’s it, that’s all you gotta know about me.
BIO. good news!!!! i’ve successfully replaced all my emotions with jokes !!!! tw bullying
reed newton was born in london england to sylvia anne bixby and cornelius otis newton and honestly, he’s regretted it ever since.
newt was an accident. he was the product of one of his mother and father’s first ever lustful encounters, and their subsequent shotgun wedding so honestly they both spent most of newt’s formative years in the honeymoon period. some of newt’s earlier memories are of him walking in on his parents doing the devil’s tango in the broom closet and his nanny rushing to cover his eyes. good times.
honestly newt walked in on his parents doing the do more times than any kid should have before the age of nine. and then he walked in on a parent doing the do with a non parent. in other words newt got an eyeful of his father and the pool boy and it wasn’t long after that that his parents went through a long and messy divorce. once again, good times.
his mother decided to pack up their things and move herself and her nine year old very impressionable son to nebraska, because fuck that kid amiright. newt was quickly designated as the skinny weird nerdy kid with glasses and a funny little accent, and so as you can guess he was pretty mercilessly bullied from age nine to eighteen. he really never stood a chance.
i feel like this is a good time to mention that newt’s mother was a sex therapist, which is not the same as a regular therapist but still, therapist is in the name. he should have been able to talk to his parent in this time of strife and get some level of support right? nope. sylvia bixby is well known for writing a men are from mars, women are from venus like book on communication and dating and all that, so his mom was generally on book tour after book tour. but maybe she would have been supportive if she was ever actually around, right? again, nope.
unbeknownst to newt whenever his mother was around she was not only just casually psycho analyzing her only child for shits and giggles, no, she as also writing about it. newt’s mother wrote an entire book about raising a highly repressed teenage son with newt as the star, and you can only guess what that did for newt’s stellar high social status in high school. nothing great.
did newt ask her not to publish it once he realized she had wrote it? yes. did she still publish it? also yes. so newt and his mother no longer have the greatest relationship. holidays are awkward.
things were not better on his fathers end, but it wasn’t because his father particularly did anything nearly as tone deaf as his mother. yes, his father was a famous erotica novelist and yes that made newt’s life a living hell, but newt luckily wasn’t the subject of those books. neil transitioned from writing fabio like novels to writing some lgbt fiction which, great for representation, horrible for your teenage son who is now known around school for having a dad who writes porn. to top it off, neil ended up starting a long term relationship with the pool boy and gaining a pseudo step son from it. benjamin caley was not only more athletic than newt, not only more attractive than newt, but also better than newt in every single way imaginable which was a real self esteem booster. his father actively prefers benji and every time newt visits him in england over the summers he comes home hating himself a bit more.
which works out because after the book being published, most people kind of hated newt too so at the very least he was on trend. there was a lot of classic nineties bullying you know, wedgies, swirlies, shoving newt into lockers. all very cliche. newt would tell his bullies as much, but it never really went over that well.
but then finally newt graduated. he was free from the hell that was the public education system and his childhood household. he graduated with honours, moved out of his mother’s house, and got himself his own apartment with a roommate near the mall where he got his first real job.
goes to university for software engineering. has an internship at apple that he’s absolutely terrified to mess up. has an old beat up car that was like the first big purchase he ever made with his own money, so he loves it to death even though it’s a piece of shit.
PERSONALITY.  do you fear me? don’t feel so special now. i have social anxiety. i fear everybody.
this is my first time playing newt so all of this is subject to change BUT
INSECURE. newt is a weird mix of cripplingly insecure and weirdly confident and there is no in between ever.
WITTY.  humour is and always will be the only defense newt has against anything, so he makes a lot of jokes especially when he feels uncomfortable.
EMPATHETIC. newt is a big push over when it comes to emotions like he would never do anything to hurt someone unless it was by accident or he was provoked or you’re his step brother benji or either of his parents in which case he will run you over with his car on sight. but no really, if newt is in a position where he has to hurt somebody he will do absolutely everything in his power to either not or avoid the situation completely.
AWKWARD. sometimes honestly, although it depends on the day. v clumsy though. usually he can try to make his awkwardness funny but does he always succeed? the answer is no.
HEADCANNONS.  actually all of my systems are nervous.
has to drink like six cups of coffee or tea a day. very serious about his tea because english. also has vegemite on his toast.
can actually cook pretty well even though he prefers to eat takeout. cooks because it’s cheaper and he’s a broke ass student yk. won’t take money from his parents ever, and will straight up give it away if it’s forced upon him.
writes star trek fanfic for fun and has a kind of weird relationship with writing because of his parents honestly?? but he enjoys it so, maybe the apple in fact does not fall from the tree.
has commitment issues because of his parents divorce but don’t we all.
developed a stutter after all the divorce drama because he thought it was his fault. he later had to see a speech therapist. his mother later had a fwb relationship with this same speech therapist. newt wanted to die.
traded his glasses for contacts and you will literally only see newt in glasses if he rips or loses his contacts or if he’s at home.
in love with all things sci fi, will rent and see every sci movie ever made if he can
accidentally knocks down at least one display in babbages per day so there’s that.
speaking of newt runs a small side gig out of babbages where he fixes up tech because paying for university, rent, and car insurance out of pocket gets up there. so if you need someone to fix your desktop newt is your guy.
is actually a pretty good flirt when he’s drunk or feels comfortable. is constantly teetering between painfully insecure and confident.
is very bi and very hesitant about it because of his father and all his feelings towards that, but he will eventually stop fighting it so much soon hopefully. has probably had a few drunken hookups with guys but tries to convince himself that is just a drunk thing yk.
is allergic to bees so death has a kiss just for him i guess.
loves video games but that goes without saying
has anxiety and takes medication for it, one of the few healthy things his mother has ever done for him.
speaking of his mother if newt ever sees her book about him in a book display he will spend as much time as needed taking each book and hiding them in obscure places so that no one will ever be able to find them and buy them. he read the whole thing because he had to know and yep he absolutely hates it.
goes by newt and only newt so that no one can make the connection between him and his mother or his father upon first meeting him or hopefully ever. a lot of the kids he went to high school with still know though and with the accent and everything, he’s not fooling anyone who has at least heard a rumour
idk what else y’all imma fite tumblr for making me write this twice
WANTED CONNECTIONS.  actually wait, i take that self deprecation back, i’m great.
ROOMMATE. because newt can’t afford his place on his own between all his expenses. please. think of the shenanigans.
ON AGAIN OFF AGAIN THING. kind of inspired by chandler and janice tbh. these two are pretty incompatible and whenever they’re together all they talk about is breaking up with each other but whenever they’re broken up and they see each other they somehow always find themselves waking up in bed together the next morning. it’s a mess.
NERD SQUAD. give me newt’s friends from high school please and thanks. just a crew of absolutely dweebs and misfits.
FWB/EWB. self explanatory considering newt’s big commitment issues but i just imagine like making out in the back room and like hooking up in the break room and someone leaving like a damning article of clothing in there and the two of them scrambling to get it before anyone notices. just fun.
EX. self explanatory but yes, an ex gf or bf, an ex fwb or ewb, give me all the exes please.
REPEAT CUSTOMER. this person is always paying newt to come fix their computer and other tech and newt just doesn’t understand how they mess it up so badly. like he doesn’t get how or why technology hates them as much as it does, but he’ll take the money.
HATESHIP. just good old fashion animosity. could be hate from school or the fresh hate upon working in the mall together or they can just be newt’s least favourite customer and he can hate them for that.
CRUSH. maybe newt had a crush on them in school. maybe they had a crush on newt in school. maybe newt has a crush on them now. maybe they have a crush on newt now.
and anything else tbh. i’d love a smoking buddy for newt, a friend who he can never get any work done around like when they’re together they’re just like !!!, someone who used to be one of the popular kids who he is now getting along with or still holding a grudge against, his big gay awakening in school maybe like the first masc person he had a crush on, someone who tries to get newt to party and come out of his shell, someone who idk steals from babbages skjsdj idk man i am open to anything at all so just like this and we can brain storm if anything!

The Heartbreak Club (Chapter 2)
Chapter 2: The Real Kim Hana
Tumblr media
previous: chapter 1
Someone calls out your name, your real name. You were in a hospital gown laying down in bed. You had your laptop plopped on your lap desk and was busy watching a drama. You pause the video when your mom comes in with lunch.
“Are you feeling better?”
You give her a fake smile, “Yeah.”
“That’s great to hear.” She says softy. Both of you look at each other as if you knew of each other’s lies. Your mom looks at your screen, “You watching that club show?”
““The Heartbreak Club”, mom.”
You let her unpack the food on the table in your hospital room and continue to watch.
“I thought we could at least be friends again.”
“Friends again? After what you did to me?”
“Hana, I’m sorry.”
“Even if you apologized a thousand times, nothing is going to change.”
You pause the scene and click your tongue, “I can’t believe she won’t forgive her!”
You mom peeks over your shoulder, “You’re too invested in that drama.”
“Well if I can’t live until I’m in college, might as well live it through this show.”
Your mom angrily says your full name, “Can you cut the negativity?”
The truth was your body was getting weaker and weaker as time passed by. One by one your organs were failing and you were just a living machine. A part of you just wanted to get everything over with.
You cross your arms and stare at Kim Hana on the screen of your laptop.
On the other hand, even if you had to be the villain of a melodrama, you would do anything to live.
The sun rays through your window blinds wake you. The first thing you feel was the heavy feeling in your chest. It was not until you wipe your face that you realize the tears that you shed.
You get up and see Kim Hana’s bedroom. Everything was clearer to you now. ‘Is this my second chance?’
You look at the dull interior of Hana’s bedroom. But why were you given someone else’s life to live? This was especially weird because you were a character in a drama.
You get up from bed and open Kim Hana’s closet. You quickly look through her clothes and then look at her desk.
Other than the busy desk that was Kim Hana’s studying sanctuary, her room was similar to yours. It was clean and almost looked like no one lived in the room. The color of the clothes were all muted or black and white. Hana had almost no make up or any items that young girls in their twenties would have.
You then remember the real Kim Hana in the beginning of the drama. She came from a single parent household. Her father would shower her with praise and try to play both roles of a mother’s warm love and a father’s protection. It was not until a traumatizing event that turned her sour. She took her father’s praise and turned herself conceited. Her personality made her the target of bullying and it ultimately lead up to setting up a defense for herself.
When she was accepted to her dream college, all she wanted was to graduate with top marks. She wanted to be the top, where no one could touch her and was willing to do anything to protect her pride.
Her backstory was a melancholy one, but it never excused all the horrible things Kim Hana did throughout the drama. She was meant to be an antagonist.
You could change it.
You didn’t have the same experiences as Kim Hana.
You were a blank paper.
A light bulb popped up in your mind and you grabbed a pen and post-it notes.
Go to Han River and bask in the sun. +Get a tan.
Join a fun club at school.
Get a part time job.
You blow your cheeks, ‘What else did I want to do?’
Go on a trip with a big group friends people.
You start sticking up the post-it notes on your wall and scratch your chin in contemplation. You were only basing these experiences from what you saw in the dramas. ‘We’ll start with this for now.’
You check your phone for the the date.
It was a Friday morning. You smile at the perfect timing. ‘Right before the weekend.’
You continue to search through Hana’s phone and read the text message from Yohan.
Now that everything was clearer to you, you remembered exactly what was going to happen at the 5PM meeting and wasn’t going to be pretty.
You have a choice of acting exactly how she was going to or save the both of you.
You look at your bucket list wall, ‘If I need people for my trip, then the engineering department would be the best bet, right?’
You bite down a foolish smile just thinking about a trip to outdoor setting. You were given a second chance to live your life and you were going to live to the fullest.
‘If I’m going to be Kim Hana, I gotta be comfortable walking in her shoes.’ You open Kim Hana’s closet and try to find the brightest colored shirt. Deep into the closet there was a plain yellow t-shirt. You pull it out from closet and pair it with light wash denim jeans.
If there was one thing Kim Hana hated it was bright colors. The female lead and her had that great distinction from each other. Kim Hana’s cold personality showed through her clothing. On the other hand, the female lead, although a little clumsy, was always dressed like a flower in the spring.
You take off the calendar that blocked the closet mirror and stood in front of it. ‘Now that you’re actually wearing something colorful, you’re not half bad, Kim Hana.’
The small change did not end there. You find a scrunchie inside one of the drawers and pull your hair back to tie into a high ponytail. Kim Hana’s dark long locks always felt stuffy, just like her. You tilt your head to one side and then the other side. You check out all angles of your new hairstyle and smile, “Kim Hana, I’ll make sure to take care of this life.”
