Okay okay listen. My maggots. Do y'all ever have a moment where you think, like, holy shit, I'm so queer, woah?? In a wonderful way?
I was just lying in bed trying to figure out if I'm more easily attracted to women and non-binary people than men sexually, or whether it's that way romantically and the reverse sexually. And I was just lying there in the dark thinking about how I'm so asexual (I'm greyace) and how much happier I am now that I tell people that I'm a man...
And I was just curiously poking around my brain, thinking about all these things, and wondering about the things I haven't realised yet, and remembering when I was discovering all of it.
And it just. Really hit me, yknow? That I'm so queer, that it's so, so real, and that the people who think we don't exist are so bloody wrong. We exist. There's so much more to emotions and attraction and gender and the lack of those things than those people say there is. It's real.
We exist. Especially in countries or places like where I am (India) where it's so easy to feel invisible as a queer person, that feeling is just so... wonderful? To remember that we exist.

Catelyn Stark, Jon Snow, and a particularly annoying fandom myth:
"Wow, if only Ned told Catelyn that Jon Snow is actually Brandon Stark's bastard/ Rhaegar and Lyanna's son, then she wouldn't have thought that he cheated and that he was a threat to her kids and we could have happy wholesome family times."
Guys. Lords and Peasants. My sweet summer children. Catelyn Stark's apprehension was justified.
First, please consider that Catelyn did not feel betrayed by Ned. They had spent one night together - purely for the purposes of securing the bloodline - before he went off to do a coup. She was aware of the fact that the man who she had only met once, who was not originally her betrothed, may do some light adultery. She expected that if he were to sire a bastard, that he would do the right thing, the noble thing, and ensure he was provided for.
She's furious that he brought his bastard home, with her trueborn children because - say it with me folks - Jon Snow does, in fact, pose a political threat to Cat's children.
Cat's uncle is a survivor of the war of the ninepenny kings, an off-shoot of a series of wars that stems from the time one guy decided his bastards should be legitimised actually. She's learnt of the dangers that come when succession is messy.
Also, consider that the North appears to view bastardry differently. many Mormont women are bastards, and they're still allowed to keep their last names. Roose has his bastard running errands for him.
Even Cat's own son is willing to disinherit his sister - her trueborn daughter - to make Jon heir to Winterfell.
And to top it all off, the bastard seems more accustomed to the north than she, or any of her own children do, when she still feels at an outcast at times. She feels ill-at-ease in the godswood, she often reflects on how strange the north's customs are. She often quibbles with her son's vassals and advisors, has to at one point reassert that she was Ned's wife to stop them from messy, brutal revenge.
To make matters worse; Jon beats Robb during training. He has the Stark features. His direwolf is a literal avatar of the weirwoods and the religion of the old gods.
But yeah, if ned could've gotten over his darned PTSD and trauma from the time he went to war and his family was brutalised and told the woman he was sworn to but otherwise was a complete stranger:
''oh yeah, he's not a threat to our children at all. He's actually the bastard son of my brother who was supposed to inherit Winterfell instead of me and many factions would prefer/Yeah he's the rightful heir and son of the guy who the king just brutally slaughtered and who's family was also murdered. But don't worry, we have no reason at all to worry. We're perfectly safe."
Besides, Cat is prejudiced. She's the archetypal Westerosi noble-woman. She's judgemental towards Mya Stone and Brienne of Tarth. She still genuinely puts her faith in guest right and the words of lords. She's courteous and wise.
People seem to forget that Cat and Jon are the main introductions to the political semi-feudal structure. From a doylist perspective, Cat is judgemental and vicious because the class system is brutal and unfair.
But I can't justify her actual treatment of Jon, and you shouldn't either.

Hey all, I know I don't post much these days but this is important and I wanted to share it around, get some exposure. Quoted directly from a friend of mine:
TW: Homophobia
In April of this year, the Norfolk Arts Center in Norfolk, Nebraska displayed their 18th Annual Juried Show. Hanging on a wall in the exhibit was this photograph titled “Here I Am.”
Tumblr media
Within a few days of the gallery opening, this piece was removed at the request of a large donor, while other pieces depicting naked women, a headless woman, and cards promoting Hooters were allowed to remain in the exhibit. The Arts Center is A 501(c)3 Non-Profit. They have chosen to allow donors to dictate what the space will do. This is a violation of their non-profit status.
A formal letter was written to the board, explaining why it was believed the Arts Center’s removal was an act of censorship. At the time, the Arts Center issued a statement regarding the situation. Attached below is said statement.
Tumblr media
This non-apology was not going to cut it.
On the 4th of June, myself and six other community members held a meeting with three members of the Norfolk Arts Center board and the executive director. In this meeting, questions were presented to the board to understand why exactly only this piece was taken down. They explained several people came to the director and expressed their distaste specifically surrounding the photograph. Amongst these complaints were requests made by large donors to have the image removed from the gallery. The director and board deemed it to be “inappropriate” as well as a “controversial topic” so they proceeded with the removal. When asked about what was deemed appropriate, the board explained that they would not exhibit pieces of art that depicts explicit images. In this category of explicit material, they also referenced artwork that depicts the KKK and violence against children. I repeat: they categorized depiction of homosexual affection between two consenting married men with images of WHITE SUPREMECISTS and VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN.
They also made claims that the artwork violated one of their policies. When asked which policy, they were unable cite an exact one and claimed that it was not in alignment with the standards that were set when the Art Center was first started in 1978. Concerns about children visiting the exhibit were raised but were quickly made obsolete when the board was reminded of the art work featuring nude women and gore that was allowed to remain hanging on the wall, directly next to where the “controversial” photograph hung.
The Norfolk Arts Center has gone out of their way to try and keep this whole situation quiet and to make it go away. I, personally, cannot allow this to happen. I share this story with you in hopes of making sure this does not get swept under the rug. This is clearly homophobic behavior and unacceptable. If you wish to support us, there is a link to our petition below. Thank you very much for allowing me this platform to share this injustice.
DISCLAIMER: PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY THREATS SENT TO THIS INSTITUTION OR ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH IT. We simply do not want this issue to go unheard.

I love the duality of Caine fanart because he’s either drawn as a wacky, cartoonish little guy or as a hot, demented entity and you know what both of them are right

me when I'm reading a UKUS fic: Arthur isn't Alfred's father - coming around every once in a while and hiring tutors does not a father make!
me when I'm reading a different America ship: and why isn't Arthur, Alfred's literal father who raised him from birth, here to be overprotective?

I am disabled. I’ve been so afraid of saying those words. They’re portrayed as bad to me and others in media so often. Disability isn’t bad. Disability just is.
What makes disability scary is the way the world isn’t accessible. My needs are more than abled people’s, but the priority for my support is less than abled’s. It’s frustrating. This week I’m looking for a new job. But it’s hard because so many jobs say they’re accessible, but the fact is they aren’t. They don’t have chairs that won’t make me scream. They don’t have schedules that allow for me to call out when I’m in too much pain to think. They don’t have people who care to ask how they can change.
The world isn’t accessible. Disabled people have to fight so much harder just to exist. It is so hard to take up space as a disabled person. If you’re disabled in any way even if it doesn’t seem like much or even if you aren’t ready to say you’re disabled, I hope you can find a space where you can just exist.

Okay I’m sorry, I need to rant.
If you say the Spymaster came before Missy because of how he switched up on the Doctor, you are participating in BPD coding erasure.
I have no problem with theorization, ‘what if’s’, and aus. I have a problem when you say he HAD to have come first because of how he acts with the Doctor vs how Missy did.
The Master is a very BPD coded character and when you say that Missy must have come after him because of her attitude towards the Doctor vs his, it’s erasure.
People with borderline SPLIT. We change our minds violently, especially if something happens to trigger that event (in this case, the Timeless Child). To completely erase that split is to erase part of that character.
Honestly, I think most people do it for the “ship”. Sorry that you think your Thoschei is ruined despite the fact that Sacha himself pretty much has said it outright that the Master is STILL in love with the Doctor.
It pisses me off to no end that it seems like people can’t handle a borderline coded character. Yes, we change our minds. Yes, it can seem like it came out of left field. Yes, we emotionally break over the ones we love.
The characters that help represent us shouldn’t have to be pushed aside just because YOU don’t understand.
From what we know, the order is correct. Sorry you can’t understand characters not necessarily meant for you. x
Rant over.
