love language barrier

a fan comic of sanji and zoro from one piece, during the wano raid scene where sanji bandages zoro.

panel 1: sanji looks disgruntled, a cigarette hanging out of his mouth as he ties strips of bandages together. he asks, “hey. still alive in there? say something, wouldja?” zoro answers from off-screen. his speech bubbles are shaky, and his words are occasionally interrupted by groans or hitches of breath. he says, “do… you think… luffy feels… attraction?”

panel 2: a closeup of sanji’s gobsmacked face, shocked by the seemingly random topic. he shouts, “what?!”

panel 3: zoro is wrapped in a cross-pose in bandages with only his face visible. he says, “on the roof… i could almost swear he was putting the moves on traffy…” sanji practically yelps, “traffy?!” with a large, jagged speech bubble.

panel 4: a closeup of sanji’s hands as he continues to wrap zoro. he says, “there’s no way. you’re hallucinating.” zoro snaps back, “he was hanging all over him! and they were fighting and arguing and stuff!” sanji replies, “and what did you think that meant?! we do that, crap-swordsman!”

panel 6: the same closeup of zoro, but now his brows are furrowed and his mouth is flattened in embarrassment. his cheeks are flushed as he comes to terms with the realization that arguing is not always considered a form of flirtation.

panel 7: a full-body silhouette of sanji tending to zoro by candlelight. after a moment of silence, sanji asks, “mosshead. how hard did kaido hit you.” zoro answers, “pretty fucking hard.” sanji repeats, “pretty fucking hard, yeah.”

What led to this (orufrey comic, cw an uncomfortable/creepy scene)

#witch hat tag #orufrey #er.... i'm too tired to have anything to say..i worked several days on this.#wait.. didn't i say just recently here that i probably wouldn't ever depict 'what if alaira is qifrey's sort-of ex'. What's going on #i don't even remember deciding to draw this..it's all a blur..i'm not sure why i WOULD decide to draw delicate scenes in my head #that i wouldn't really want to share with anyone/discuss so why did i draw it...#some part of me really really wants to draw things that are more and more true to myself...#maybe because of my alienation with most romance/shipping/dynamics the rest of the world depicts.#orufrey really is perfectly suited to me - what i read in the text and what is in my head. well anyway #i am TIRED of drawing poses and angles and..maybe now i will actually take a break from drawing bc of the tediousness of Angles #btw it really is a 'stretch of time' . . . assuming witches graduate age 18-20 #well orufrey are canonically 30-ish. they've only had agott around for presumably about TWO years (?) bc she took the test age 10 #and it feels like oru moving in/unknown atelier acquisition/building (?) .. i guess that could be a year or so before agott at most #(she was the first disciple) so... ????????? What about the other 7 or so years ?!?!?!!?!?! Unemployed Brimhat Hatred era #that time is very nebulous. after qifrey went to the tower i feel like it's been implied he and oru drifted apart a little.#certainly they didn't live together at first... no way. that doesn't feel like how it is based on things oru has said about becoming Eye #idk. I'm tired now. i don't usually think of alaira as necessarily qifrey's ex and this being how things went in that 'sliver of time'.#i usually prefer the idea that they have their first kiss with each other in their 30s cause That's Just The Orufrey Lifestyle #just felt like making a more relatable alternative view of my own Cai Orufrey Canon one time. btw im a big monoshipper and it hurt a bit #let's leave it there. this is surely the most i've worked on a 'single' art - though now i realise just how much longer the fic took :')

#ive talked a lot about helmets lately oops #i guess i just rly have an obsession with how they're an extension of the driver #and a representation of them and their only sense of personality and individuality when theyre all geared up #so theres something to me about the separation of helmet from driver like in these pics #of course theres pics of the helmet on its own for model kinda pics(like all the pics i used for my past project posts)#but this is its own genre. helmet doing its own thing. helmet away from the vicinity of its owner #helmet being protected from the elements. it has its own carrying bag. it gets an umbrella. etc etc #the first pic made me on the lookout for pics w a similar vibe. “Yeup! It’s mostly known as a day for romantic partners to enjoy the day together, but over time it started becoming equally for all people to share affection with their friends, rather than just partners.”

“I see. And where do I fall in this line?” Taliesin wondered, opening the bag— surprised at the sight of so many chocolates inside.

“Oh… I’ll let you figure that one out.” Allora shrugged casually, walking past her companion.

Taliesin jolted as her hand slid across his hip in passing, watching her wide eyed as she glanced back with a smirk, before carrying onwards to her bedroom.

His feet were moving faster than his mind could comprehend, like a dog on a leash.

#this is maybe a very obvious statement but a lot of persona makes a lot more sense when you start learning abt jungian psychology #i say learning but i just mean mr edogawa’s tv classroom for the most part lol #it is very informative though #and it’s incredibly interesting to hear about The Themes Of The Game from the game’s mouth #i’m not certain why i thought this but prior to actually playing the game myself i thought p4 was really ‘true self’-y #like that it implied that there was an immutable ‘true self’ and that personas and/or shadows WERE that #but it very much doesn’t. like at every turn #i guess i took ‘i am a shadow; the true self’ at face value…#rambles #p4g posting #rather than an immutable singular truth; ‘true self’ seems to be the knowledge of oneself. like the shadow and persona and shit #more as in the concepts than the guys. as well like personal growth a la slinks #like. holistically. the shadow and persona are but fractions of the self #the shadow what’s repressed and the persona how you face the world. neither are the entirety of nor separate from the self #that’s how i’ve come to understand it anyway #i’ll probably have some more solid thoughts once i see all the tv classrooms and finish the game
