Souleater Au where Eddie is a meister and Steve is a weapon.

Steve comes up to Eddie on day one of school and basically tells him that he's going to be Eddie's weapon. Eddie takes one look at Steve's preppy, uptight everything and basically says "pass".

He comes to deeply regret this when they do their presentations with the whole freshman class and Steve turns into the most badass greataxe/electric guitar he's ever seen.

He begs Steve to take him back but he turns up his nose at the offer, saying he'll find someone else.

Steve cycles through a bunch of different meisters but none of them are ever completely in tune with him. Meanwhile, Eddie has been trying to win Steve over this entire time, showing off his guitar skills and strength at every opportunity, never trying to pair with another weapon unless it's mandatory for class.

At the end of every week he asks Steve if he's changed his mind, and every week Steve says no he hasn't and Eddie leaves a little dejected but determined to try until Steve picks a permanent meister.

In the end, Steve agrees to give him one try. If they can soul resonate on the first try then Steve will agree to be his weapon, if not he'll keep looking and Eddie will leave him alone.

Much to Steve's eternal annoyance, they resonate almost instantly.

Sometimes I think I'm not that bad at reading people then I remember how throughout the whole of 6th form I kept trying to get my two closest friends to hang out as a group not realising one friend had a huge crush on the other while the second hated the first friend to the point they started spreading lies about them

Also another question, so why exactly did Megatronus’ T-cog give Megatron his upgraded form?

Like with Orion, I get it. He got the Matrix of Leadership, a powerful ancient relic, and was made into a Prime, and Primes are generally bigger and more powerful than the ordinary bot he used to be

But with Megatron, all he got was a new cog. Why did that completely change his design and presumably give him an upgrade on the same level as Optimus Prime?

Now yes, Megatronus was considered the strongest Prime, and maybe you could make the argument that’s why. But like, remember that the quartet, including D-16, got their initial cogs from the dead Primes. Alpha Trion didn’t recreate what would have been their original, normal bot cogs, he gave them Prime cogs, including Prima’s. And while yes, Prima in the actual canon of the movie is of no more importance than the other Primes outside of the Big Three (AT, Zeta and Megatronus), he’s still most likely the original Prime and potentially original Transformer, and is very notable in other continuities. So his cog should be important, or at least on a similar level to Megatronus’, but it seems the same as any other cog

So like, what makes Megatronus’ cog so different, and also uniquely colored? How did it give Megatron a whole upgrade like that?

I mean I guess some of it lies in the question of how much does a T-cog determine and how much does getting a new one change, a question that is not given a solid answer in the movie. But still, what’s going on here?

Homecoming is in the fall, includes a football game, and is meant for alumni to come back and visit, but the dance is for current students only. Prom is in late spring, it is usually the last dance of the year, often is only for the two highest grades, and is typically much fancier than homecoming. In my school, homecoming was a much sluttier event than prom. Both have an elected king and queen of the dance, both are very large events in a high school life, but prom has more weight.

Something that always really resonated with me in The Perks of Being A Wallflower was the line right near the end when Charlie says "there are people who forget what it's like to be 16 once you turn 17" and maybe it's just because I was 16 the first time I watched the movie and I felt like nobody ever listened to me because I was young, but I promised myself I would not forget what it was like to be 16, or any age that I had been, and that I would extend the respect and understanding that I so craved to others. And I forget to do that sometimes, but whenever I play the perks soundtrack on vinyl (cause I'm a 2014 hipster in my spare time) that speech plays into the last track and I hear it and remember that I need to do that. So anyways if you're 16 and you feel like nobody ever listens to you or remembers what being 16 felt like I'm sorry. I promise I do. Relish in the good parts while you have them and know the bad will be over soon 💚

Do you ever think about how to a lot of Christians the verse that really spells out The Whole Deal for them is John 3:16 but like if you actually believed John 3:16 you would sound insane

It literally says. If you believe in "the Son." You will not die and you will live forever.

IT DOESN'T SAY "well, first you have to die, and your body will just be dead, but then your spirit self will not go to hell to be tortured for eternity by Satan, but instead your spirit self will go to heaven and be happy with God for eternity."

But you know what the author did say? Three verses ago, in verse 13: "No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man"** (The Hebrew Bible would like to have a word about Enoch and Elijah, but I digress.) Bro is capable of talking about heaven, no metaphors or nothing. And he still didn't feel a need to add anything about how Christians get to go to heaven.

He literally meant. You will not die. And just be a guy on earth, just not dying.

He didn't need it to mean anything more complicated because he didn't have the hindsight of looking back over the past 2000 years to see that Christians die like normal people instead of living forever like Tolkien elves

i'm 5'2 and my partner is 5'7 and we constantly marvel at how well we fit together when i want to put my head on his shoulder or he wants to pull me into hugs lol. it also helps w my dysphoria to be with someone who's considered (i guess?) a shorter guy. the logistics of dating someone above 5'7 just do not map out for me at all, i dated a 6'1 guy in my early 20s and he had to bend down to talk to me; it was so weird!
