Is it in the best interest of humanity to prevent other species from becoming sapient or do you think we can handle peaceful co-existence with sapient non-humans?
I don't care about the best interests of humanity, I care about the best interests of the biosphere
and I know from history that us meddling with the evolution of nature either goes great (see: Native American interactions with the landscape) or terribly (see: the environmental destruction that is European Colonialism)
so I don't know if we can handle peaceful coexistence, or if more sapience would be good for the biosphere, or what have you. So, since I really don't know, my answer is we shouldn't really do much of anything. If other species become sapient, we deal with it then. If they don't, then we don't.

"Please... I've been on my knees- change the prophecy..."
But it's Ango praying to whatever deity is listening not to take his remaining friend away from him when Dazai's heartbeat flatlined-
But it's also Dazai picking up a pen and wrote on the Book for a chance that, even if it's just one world, Oda would live.

What if... #17
Roden broke Jaron's arm instead of his leg? Would everything still be played the same or would something else happen? Would Jaron still climb up that wall, fight Roden, or sit and wait for him to come? Would Jaron even be alive at the end of the book or not?

Ms. Delia Dent, law student and artist on the side.
She met her father through the glass at Arkham Asylum a few days after turning 18. With everything she'd heard about him, she was prepared to see some kind of caged animal, some hideous thing to be ashamed of, but he wasn't anything like that at all. Instead, she found a deep well of compassion.
Once or twice a month, she visits him and he helps her with her studies, even if he's a little behind in practice. These visits seem to improve his quality of life tremendously. It's all he talks about for days after the fact.

Why aren't you a huge fan of MasakoX's What Ifs?
youtube
At 9:09 - 9:33 of the video above, MasakoX states that "The Legacy of Goku" games had its own interpretation of the DB lore, just as he does on his channel & says it's relatable to some of his what-ifs.
So, that's why I don't like his what-ifs. MasakoX's what-ifs loosely follow DB & follow DBZA closer. So they are fanfics of a parody.
And tbh, most what-ifs that many YouTubers do are pretty lame imo. Mainly due to the lack of DB knowledge. Many ppl change too much to the point that the characters act OOC or aren't even themselves anymore. Likey due to the fact that most of the popular DB YouTubers don't really understand the non-Saiyan characters. Heck, most don't even understand the Saiyan characters like Gohan, Vegeta, Bardock, nor Trunks.
The way many of the what-ifs are written to appease to Saiyan fans & fans of female characters. Also, they often coddle overly sensitive Vegeta fans who claim Vegeta has the most character development, yet refuse to believe he was once evil. (Vegeta is one of the most innacuately depicted characters in what-if stories.)
MasakoX's videos that I enjoy are his color theory videos, chakra videos, and videos where he talks about obscure things in DB that most fans don't know about. Those are far more entertaining.
Most what-ifs like "What If Bulma Married Goku?" have been done to death & 95% of the time are done poorly by the fandom. Its simply a sexual thing and the real relationship is forced and doesn't work.
Same goes for turning a character into a Saiyan. Earthlings don't need to be a Saiyan to be cool. Besides, turning an Earthling into a Saiyan takes away what makes the humans unique and how they compete above their weight bracket. EARTHLINGS ARE THE UNDERDOGS. Turning Earthlings into Saiyans takes that away from them. There are ways to write Earthlings becoming Saiyans, but I haven't seen anyone do it in a way that catches my attention.
How I would do a "What-If XYZ Was A Saiyan?" is this...
After Bulma found out Goku was a Saiyan, she used Raditz DNA to create something called "Saiya-Pills." It temporarily gives the Earthlings the abilites of Saiyans while keeping their Earthling potential & humanity. So, in a sense, they would be similar to Gohan; Saiyan ability, Earthling potential.
(Idea came from the Super-Pills from the Injustice game.)
Also, the popular Raditz what-if stuff is super boring to me. He becomes discount Vegeta. Talks about Saiyan pride, gets with a woman that one of the Earthlings had a relationship with, ect. Just becomes a Vegeta 2.0. Or even worse... becomes the extremely inaccurate fan interpretation of Vegeta. The interpretation where he's a nice guy with a tough side who takes pride in his Saiyan ppl & is a better husband/father than Goku despite Goku being more human than they are. Its not the character. I like the actual characters, not the husk of them.

Sometimes, I get to thinking about stuff and it's like your heart breaks again and it's like...
Well, I guess it's grieving. But the people aren't dead. She isn't dead, she still alive. But what I could have had if I had just made the right decisions, if I knew exactly what the repercussions were or if I had just prioritized them.
Or the memories. Grieving the memories. But it's like, they're not even real. You're just revisiting old desires that you've thought of before and here you are: reminiscing that what-ifs and should-haves and could-haves as if they're going to change anything.
They don't.
"It is what it is."
"I hate that phrase. Sounds like dying."

Is there a SEED character you think should have been more focused upon?
Is there one you think should have had less focus?
Hi, I’m very late in answering this and I’m sorry, but I have Opinions™️ again.
I could pick just one of each, but I’m going to be fully honest, that would be off brand for me. SO.
Spoilers for Gundam SEED, (duh):
Characters That Needed More Focus:
1.) Yzak, i think, comes to mind immediately. We see a decent amount of him as a member of the villain quartet at the beginning, but after Nicol dies, we see not very much of him, especially leading up to his decision to abandon his revenge plot to rescue Dearka. I think seeing this change build in him gradually would be important to see for the message of SEED in general. (And also make his mini-redemption moment in Destiny, which i still haven’t seen, more impactful)
2.) Andrew Waldfeldt. I’d like to know how he survived being exploded, and ended up on Lacus’ ship. He plays a lot of the same role as Ramba Ral for kira, but with a bit more Vash The Stampede esque goofiness, and quite frankly, I love him. The character he’s initially presented as, and the Waldfeldt that shows up piloting Lacus’ ship aren’t neccisarily consistant though, and I want to see how he survived. It would have been nice to see him questioning ZAFTs motivations a bit more, and coming to his own conclusions on things.
That said, apparantly being in an exploding mobile suit in SEED is even less fatal than it is in Wing.
3.) Juri Wu Nein, Mayura Labatt, and Asagi Caldwell. The three ORB test pilots for the M1 Astray. Honestly, their deaths are more dissappointing than anything else, they could have just not died and the series would be the same. If you want deaths to have meaning, I’m of the philosophy, you need to focus on the characters for a bit longer than these guys got.
Characters that deserved Less Screen Time:
1.) Orga Sabnak, Clotho Buer, and Shani Andras. I was so dissappointed by these guys. They could have honestly never been shown, or been shown a lot less, just to illustrate the concept behind Boosted Men. But when I played G Generation Cross Rays, I thought that the character details of showing their hobbies would make them into tragedies, and the game was just stripping out a bunch of context, like it did with Rau Le Creuset. Instead it turns out they’re just assholes who fucking hate each other, with a mean streak. They feel like wasted potential, and the screen time devoted to them felt wasted.
2.) Sigh/Sai Argyle (I’m not sure how you spell it anymore). To be honest, the only role he served to the story was to create a weird love triangle, before he was immediately forgotten. He could have been written out of the plot and the story wouldn’t change in the slightest, except Flay might have come across as slightly less mean. You could have spent the screen time that was spent on him further establishing the relationship between Miriallia and Tolle, to make Tolle’s death more impactful. (Instead of “AND HE DIES ALSO!”)
I think thats it. There is a lot more that I think the series would benefit from changing, but not in terms of who gets screen time.
That said, for all the criticisms I have of it, SEED is still a fun story, and I do like it quite a bit.

You know murmur could be a good vehicle for what if stories in Mirai Nikki
It's practically built into the concept, isn't it? We already have multiple incarnations of the world and even more incarnations of Murmur.
Furthermore, the PSP game/visual novel introduces the ideal of isolated "bubble" universes that Deus can create as text environments for experiments.
And then there's Mirai Nikki: Paradox, which seemingly takes place in an AU at first, indicating that "What-If" stories are blatantly up for grabs at any time ... only for the story to eventually end in a mindfuck that inexplicably puts everything back in line with either the First or Second World version of events. I have NO FUCKING CLUE how it works. As I've said before, I strongly suspect the answer is "Sakae Esuno just wanted to speedrun the ending without thinking about it."
I'll just ramble about how Paradox wraps up under the cut.
Okay, so the ending of Paradox results in a "rewind" that somehow sets us back into the normal course of events where Yuki first spots Akise on the other side of the road. You may recall that new incarnations of the world are created by going back in time and taking new actions that branch into a new timeline. So uh... this ending should've created a new incarnation of the world, right? But obviously it didn't, because by the end of the main narrative, the labels of "Second World" and "Third World" and such are confirmed accurate by virtue of the digits that appear on each Murmur's head to represent their point of origin. So if SOMEHOW, Paradox includes a timeline rewind and redo that DIDN'T create a newly numbered world, doesn't that mean that you can have multiple timelines inside a single world? .......... What the fuck?! That's in direct opposition to all of the rules previously established! You can't DO that! ............ Let's just go back to calling this entire book an AU. It's less confusing to the lore that way. :P

Why do you think that MasakoX's what if stories are DBZA what-ifs with a hint of DB? Why don't you think they're DB what-ifs?
Imo, a "DB What-If" would not reference the Abridged series so often. MasakoX has an understanding of DB characters, but he often takes liberties with how he writes them. He's even said before that he takes some liberties in the writing. And those liberties seem to have DBZA influence.
Like how MasakoX speaks about the characters is often from a DBZA lense, how he does a DBZA type of voice for What-If Krillin as well as does space duck references, has What-If Goku call Vegeta "Getes" like in DBZA, he has What-If Vegeta say "Vegeta yes!" and the other references & quotes from the Abridged series he adds.
He probably takes a lot of inspiration from DBZA when doing his fics because many ppl identify him as "that guy who plays DBZA Goku." So, he plays into it either consciously or unconsciously.
All of that is why I say he does DBZA What-Ifs mixed with some DB. Personally, I'm not a fan of his What-Ifs, but that shouldn't stop somebody else from enjoying them.
But, his DBS anime & manga comparison videos? One in particular is pretty terrible and innacurate. But, that's a completely different subject.
