jason todd has so many underrated canon love interests. essence, isabel, artemis, and rose are all characters i love with him. like those are good ships. why is everyone ignoring them?

Some recent thoughts about nonhumanity and my relationship to the community + my personal relationship with it that I cleaned up, my writing style is a bit disjointed, I would like to share more of my writing, if anyone would be interested in seeing that :)

watching two dozen interviews of wes ball talk about how he made the maze runner movies is genuinely such a pleasure to watch. it's so so clear that he deeply loves the content of the maze runner books while still understanding that they're fucking insane and makes next to no sense. the vision he has for the movies are unparalleled, the way he slims down the books while still upping the character moments is so impressive!! he was able to capture the heart of the series while still making it really accessible to a general audience. it has a clear trilogy feel to it, which a lot of trilogies do NOT have. and the best part is the cast LOVES him, you can tell just by the way they describe and poke fun of wes that this project would NOT work without him. also the way the cast NEVER talks about dashner is so fucking good. they're like 'omg there's wes, the genius, doing a one man show haha so silly, ily wes' and then it hard cuts to someone being like 'james is on set a lot.'

#the main reason why i started reading the book was because of the social phenomenon #i mean when has there been a case where the movies are so much more beloved than the actual books????#half way through scorch. i understand now.#ONE SINGLE THING I WILL SAY THAT THE BOOKS DO BETTER #is minho #minho had a lot of LIFE in the books #he's arrogant #he's a bastard #and hes so funny actually #i love him in the movies too #ki hong lee is a great minho but its very very clear they chose newt over him to focus on #which is a real shame because theyre a trio for a reason yk #actually in general the books are actually hilarious #ALSO my theory is #wes ball was so charmed by TBS that he changed some shit around #my favorite interview of wes ball was him describing TBS' audition #saying how he was just so magnetic and he was immediately drawn to the idea of him about newt #WES BALL IS JUST LIKE ME FR #mine #maze runner #tmr #alex reads tmr

the great thing about dutch rock band focus is that it never stops being funny to me that their most successful song ever is hocus pocus (by focus)

#truly a happenstance that makes it seem like they came together for the recording of that one (1) song #and picked a rhyming name just for the hell of it. even though hocus pocus only appears on the second album #(not the first. the first only had tracks called focus. by focus. not NEARLY as funny)#so yk. this is sort of like if U2 were mostly known for a song called choo choo. if nirvana had done the mahna mahna muppets song #and they were essentially ONLY known to the wider public for the mahna mahna song in spite of recording it in the 70s #and being around literally to this day. which weirdly fits as a comparison because the lyrics of mahna mahna and hocus pocus #make roughly an equal amount of sense!#which is not to say they don't both go hard. of course they do #*

Should i watch masters of the air?

i mean. obviously i'm going to say yes, as it's been making me insane for weeks now and i want more people to watch it!! 🥰 i don't think it's as "good" or as fully formed thematically as band of brothers but i DO absolutely think there's worthwhile stuff in the show! it's shot beautifully and has several characters that i really, really love and well. those two guys are gay as hell and insane about it!!! if anything in my past 3 videos struck a chord with you then yes i think you should try it :) but also it is at its core a ww2 show so if you're not into those i can't fault you that! i think the pilot (ha) is really strong so maybe just try that out and see if it's your thing!

#their relationship is much more the Focus and through-line of the show than in the other hbo war dramas #which def lends itself to a more shippy lens but that's not to say there isn't other good stuff in there yk!#like it does tackle a lot of the same war themes as bob just not nearly as wholly or adeptly. in my opinion #but BOY is the romance there and crazy-making!!!!!#like. to an astonishing degree #ask #anonymous

Not having new linear games post 5 its judt that sims 4 wasnt even supposed to Be The Sims 4 it was a last minute pivot and the base code is so outdated and was broken On launch so like. i just wish we could have the final actual sims game be like. one that was always intented to be a major sims release AND be intended to be so long term . yk

Ooh major graphical updates whatever if sims 5 was announced and they looked photorealizstic id hurl i wouldnt play #it #my ideal would ig be sims 4 with a touch more realism style wise. if this makes sense #like its a bittt too cartoony for me but i like the like. Clay hair or whatever SJFNFJ. and i think having it be simple in basegame means #you can customize it easier + itd run better on more pcs #so im fine eith that. i would nottt want it more cartoony #i also like. I understand the sims is like. an all ages game i do sometimes wish that the animations in 4 were a bit toned down #like i dont mind silly goofy wacky stuff i think its fun and like. The sims has always been a bit sillay yk. but the overexaggerated #animations r sometimes like -_-.... to me. but thats personal preference #IDK. the tags that show up when i type idk r so funny. do i ever know anything. sources say no #BUT ya i just rly wish like. if this is what they wanna do i wish theyd give us One more full game give it lots of time and love and rly rly #focus on having it excel at like. being this partnof the sims #since they wanna have like. my second adhd med dose just kicked in can you tell

#i think i explained this but basically since the other ones i was on were all slow release #(and are all on crazy shortages)#the solution my doctor and i arrived at was to take the instant release ones twice a day #once when i first get up and once ab 6 hours after that (i missed it by a little bit but shh)#(i didnt exactly have my first dose when i first got up bc im a fool)#which is... okay! i mean its better than nothing #but it means i get all this... energy and focus and function #all very suddenly #and it only lasts maybe an hour? which sucks #so i try to like #use my ''morning'' one for actual tasks like cleaning #and then my ''lunch'' one just so i can feel... better. like a person. yk?

on todays episode of ‘wow, merlin is literally this song’. yk what is horrifically merlin coded? waiting room by phoebe bridgars. “if you were a waiting room, i’d never see the doctor. i would sit with my first aid kit and bleed.” arthur is his waiting room. and merlin WAITS THERE. never free, always scared and in hiding, always lying, he never fulfills his destiny- he STAYS with arthur, in their little waiting room til its forcibly taken from him.

also the “know its for the better” over and over and OVER AGAIN, all of merlins sacrifices being for the better of destiny and all of albion. him keeping quiet about his magic, about all the things hes done (nearly letting mordred die, nimuehs death, poisoning morgana) because its for the better. because it was for destiny.

and all the people hes lost (will saying hes a sorcerer in his place before dying himself, freyas death, balinors death, lancelots sacrifice in his place) was all for the better. freya had to die to become the lady of the lake (and like what i think with wills death, so he wouldnt have anyone distracting him away from his destiny with arthur), balinor had to die so merlin would inherit his dragonlord abilities, lancelot had to die in merlins place so he could stay at arthurs side. merlin losing everyone was for the better. and personally i am not okay with that

#i was in group therapy for a while and we had to do an exercise where we had to describe ourselves and then ask someone close to describe us #and the therapist also asked us to describe each other #i said i was sweet (i dont really THINK of myself as sweet but other people often tell me i am so i was like sure lets go w it)#and then one of the ladies who was there was like no youre not sweet youre SUPER sweet and i was like oh??????????#and then another girl was like: she's like a cloud. it was so cute LMFAO #it was the same girl who said she thought my voice was so sweet and soft sometimes she couldn't focus on what i was saying when i talked #and i dunno. everyone else in that group was a bit older than me and the therapist was like well #besides being a good person i think youre really intelligent and articulate for your age and i was like well.....im not that young LMFAO #idk its just weird to think about all the positive ways in which others perceive you yk?#like ive never EVER thought of myself as intelligent. if anything quite the opposite #even here i remember getting a couple of anonymous asks from ppl telling me that they thought i was cool or funny #or that they liked my sense of humor and i was like me???????? cool????????? funny???????????? no way dude #then there's been others from people telling me i was cute or sweet which is what i often hear from others but yeah #ive never considered myself particularly cute or sweet?????? i think im just a decent person lmao #anyway. much to think about.....#sorry for the rant if youve read everything you deserve a kiss (with tongue???? jk. unless??) 💋#raquel speaks

Welp, I've finished the season 4 special...

Anyway-

#the finale wasn't bad btw. It's just it coupled with season 4 and 3 has me tired #I'm sure a lot of people like it #I'm honestly just really tired #I think I've just fallen deeply out of love with lmk #which is sad cause it had me by a chokehold for years #I could rant but I no longer like the show enough to give such an emotional response #Season 3 was already very high stakes and emotional. Season 4 did not need to be #even if I agreed with all the decisions they made. Having 2 high stakes world ending situations with so much angst is emotionally exhaustin #what drew me to lmk to begin with was the villain of the week format it had going #low stakes episodical things with super fun and endearing characters yk #sure they could have an overarching story. I don't actually mind the LBD plot at all #but what they did to SWK... I started watching the show because I saw a clip with him in it and I loved it so much I sought it out #they've massacred my boy #and then the continued angst and stress they tossed onto Mk. I don't appreciate it #maybe I can focus on making aus instead #season 1 and 2 still hold a special place in my heart (season 1 waaayyy more than season 2)#so maybe I'll rewatch those and see if I feel anything #but as of now I think I'm done with the show #ah well
