Actresses being tortured on the set by male directors is a massive historical and present day scourge of the film and TV industries and it's really SO common when you look into it. like from Kubrick terrorizing Shelley Duvall (and only her) on the set of the shining to Tarantino strangling Diane Kruger until she passed out to Hitchcock replacing fake birds with real birds after Tippi Hedren rejected his advances (in order to scare and physically injure her as a punishment for not fucking him) to James Cameron almost literally drowning Kate Winslet to an actress on GOT being waterboarded ten hrs straight to get like a minute of footage to Brando improvising an unscripted rape scene on the last tango in Paris set with the directors permission that ended up traumatizing Maria Schneider (in fact quite a lot of the gratuitous, graphic rape scenes in film were included for the sadistic pleasure of the male directors at the expense of the actresses).

The list goes on and on and I could seriously talk for ages about how revolting it is that these men still have active careers bc the industry just tolerates it. No piece of art is worth inflicting this disgusting and unnecessary abuse on actresses (and it's ALWAYS the actresses isn't it, never the actors. Hmmm wonder why). We call these men auteurs and geniuses but they're really just pathetic abusive sacks of shit. I want to impale every male director who behaves like this and I want their rotting corpses displayed as a part of the universal studios tour.

''oh they just want to draw out the best performance'' BUUUULLSHIT #1) if that was true why is it only actresses being abused #2) how come other accomplished directors dont do this but still manage to make great movies. perhaps bc its TOTALLY UNNECESSARY #male directors are as a whole some of the most demented individuals in all of showbiz & thats saying smth #as a wannabe director myself it makes me extremely sad bc its so hard for a woman to break into directing yet men like this still get to #make movies and continue being psychopaths to their actresses??? fuck off

Man. I just get so actually legitimately sad each time I remember that toh ended and that we live in the post-toh world. Like it really is over.

Ms Dana Terrace has said that she'd like to do more given the chance (and after some quality time off of bigger projects, just to chill), but as far as we know, it's the end.

Heck, we barely got anything after the final episode, no books, no special merch, no dedicated little chibi shorts, nothing really, aside from the, thankfully fun, get-togethers of the cast and crew!

Idk. Ah well actually nah, I do know, that this show just meant an enormous lot to me. Incredibly huge, the kind that you can't break away from and wouldn't want to anyway. The kind that feels like, man, where would I be without it.

Happy 1 Year, to the end of The Owl House. Thank you, The Owl House.

it's always kinda depressing when I make a post about real people and their actions in real life only for the post to collect a bunch of tags from people relating it to their OCs or other fictional characters. like you guys have gotta make some real life personal connections and learn about actual irl experiences rather than picking this stuff up through a lens of fiction.

I just want yall to know that the tkc movie cancellation is a blessing in disguise bc it really should be a 3 season tv series 🥱

#thinking about how the first book is literally the longest out of the trilogy #bc it’s a lot of info and a lot of movement for the first installment #as glad as I was to have tkc content in the wild #I also figured they would be cutting a massive amt of info and scenes lol #first like six (?) chapters can be episode 1-2 alone #establishing the family dynamic then the museum blowing up fiasco and the police interrogation #and then Amos’ officially arrival #like so much shit happens in like 1-2 weeks it’s kinda insane #also u truly have to give time for the audience to gaf about the characters #coz Amos’ possessed by Set and then Zia’s reveal as a shabti wouldn’t hit nearly as hard if it was crammed into 1.5hrs #there’s also more things that require subtlety and more care to get it right #like the physical appearances of the Kanes and why it matters #idk I’m hoping for a tv series rather than a movie deal so that this is all able to be shown #ya never know #the kane chronicles #tkc
