Random Thought...
A villain being dragged along through their redemption arc, falling in love with the hero as they do so. On the other hand, the hero being 'corrupted' over the years; seemingly reciprocating their feelings. The villain has never been 'the worst', per say but there's a bad guy out there that really takes the cake. They've murdered former villains in cold blood; regularly infiltrated the 'high security prison' and memory-wiped a handful of captured villains, releasing them into society as regular citizens, only to off them should they resort to villainy once more. Our hero loves joking about this; teasing the villain that they could be next.
Society calls this monster a hero, the heroes themselves frown upon the act of killing but oh well, less work for them. And our mid-redemption arc villain constantly questions why no one has sought them out, why the heroes choose not to get involved. Our villain is never answered, thus with the help of their 'un-offical' lover, starts their spiral into being a 'true hero' in order to prove themselves. They find this fiend alright, they really do but they don't believe it. After years of constantly being berated about morals; ethical code and humanity our villain is face-to-face with the reality that everything has been a lie.
It was a slip-up that couldn't have been anticipated. During one of the rehabilitation conferences, our villain is attacked and our hero acts on impulse. The decapitated head of the offender tenderly lies between our hero's hands, the blood slowly dripping to the floor as the entire world tries to process what the fuck just happened.
"Are you okay? ", a hero in attendance asks as panic sets in, as the world spins around our hero as they realize what they've just done. Their hands shake, their eyes gloss over but our hero sets the head back unto the body with such an uncanny precision that the our villain finches. Our hero senses this, turning around with tears in their eyes as they face the one thing they've come to fear.
"It's you isn't it?", our villain asks, voice frigid. Our hero takes a single step forward, so slowly a decade could've passed before their foot hit the ground and with their chin up, they huff out a small whisper. "I'm not sorry for saving your life." A fight ensues between the two resulting in half the city being torn apart.
Staggering upon the roof of a decimated building, our villain clutches at their bleeding abdomen. "You thought I couldn't do it, you thought I was using you to destroy the heroes from the inside?" A dry cackle leaves their bloodied mouth. Our hero kneels before them, wiping away at the crimson with their thumb. "It wasn't supposed to be like this..." Their foreheads touch as our villains eyes flutter open, staring up into the cold eyes of the one they love. Our villain feels their heart slow, a smile on their face content to die in the arms of their lover but just as the darkness takes them, our hero's lips brush against theirs and our hero speaks plainly. "You were never meant to be more than a means to an end."
The plot twist is that the hero was the villain all along.

"why are you here?"
the january cold may have been harsh on suna's skin, but your words were harsher on his heart.
he's standing at the doorstep of your apartment, and in front of an irriated and groggy looking you, who he may have awoken at three am in the middle of the night.
you cross your arms and lean on the doorway frame, waiting for his answer.
he may have expected a bit of a warmer greeting, though he's not sure if his expectations are valid — not anymore, not since you've broken up with him.
"i, uhm," he trails off and pauses, looking around everywhere but at you, "i need somewhere to stay at."
you frown at him, "suna, are you drunk?"
you might as well have taken a knife and stabbed it in his heart when you used his last name as he replies, "no. maybe —  a little bit."
you know he's lying, you've known him for three years to know when he is, and you've known him for three years to know when he's drunk — and the red that taints his cheeks say that he may have had more than his fair share of drinks.
"can i come in?" he asks, finally looking at you, you can see the way he slightly shivers with the chill that stings in the air.
you don't know what to say, you don't know if you should let him in — no, you know that you shouldn't let him in and he knows that he shouldn't be asking this question, he knows he shouldn't even be here in the first place, and yet here he stands at the doorstep of your apartment.
you stay silent, for a moment, and then two before you finally answer him, "i guess i can't just leave you at the mercy of the january cold." you say quietly as you step away from the doorway and let him in — it's a snowy and crisp night, and you can't send him out on the streets where the biting winds would get him.
and besides, against your bitter will, you may have missed him.
suna navigates his way around your apartment as though it's his second home, you presume that it is or at least it used to be as you watch him make his way to the couch and slump on it.
"make yourself comfortable, i guess." you mutter under your breath before you disappear into your room.
suna knows that he shouldn't be here, not when he's intoxicated and drunk on martinis, not after he went to the bar to do so just to get his mind off of you, and yet he still found himself circling back to you, first with a phone call, then two, then three, all which you didn't notice until he decided to finally go to your place, his feet dragged him there as though it was second nature and it might as well have been his lucky day when you let him in even though your break up ended with you saying that you didn't want to have anything to do with him.
but suna can't help it, he really can't, he can't get his mind off of you and his heart still longs for you but he thinks he's exaggerating, at least now he does with the alcohol settling in his system, his mind a daze with the only thought on it being you and the fact that he's at your apartment, and his eyelids now feel heavier.
and so when you come back with a pillow and comforter for him, you find him laying on the couch, head facing the ceiling.
a small smiles stretches at your lips as you make your way over to him, "sleepy already? i guess you've had too much to handle." you chide as you begin to cover him with the comforter, his eyes are still open but droopy.
"y/n," he calls out your name and you can't help but pause at it as you answer him, "yes?"
"i love you." he says, it's quiet, a bit intimate and almost innocent as he looks at you, waiting for your answer.
you may have not noticed how eloquent his tone was, how heartfelt his words actually were, or maybe you did, maybe you just chose to ignore it or maybe you just didn't believe him no matter how honest he actually was because you frown at him with a slight pout at your lips.
you say quietly, "you're too drunk, suna."
you tuck him in, your heart beating dully in your chest, maybe you can't hear his heartbeat but you can see the way his eyes dim as his chest throbs at your words.
the january cold may have been harsh but you don't realize how much harsher your words are to him as you speak once more,
"maybe tell me that when you're sober."

some brief advice for characters with small scars from a head injury (from my specific experience) since i do see people give these types of scars to characters sometimes
mine is like this for reference:
Tumblr media
specific info:
i didn't receive in-hospital treatment for it even though i lost consciousness i was kicked by a horse, the metal horseshoe is what did it it was a long time ago (over a decade now)
it doesn't effect me much day to day, it is always visible but it has become less prominent over time. certain expressions (anything eyebrow raising especially) make it very obvious.
it is physically raised and lacks pigment.
sensation wise, it used to itch but i haven't felt that for awhile now. if i pay attention when touching it, there's a slight difference in temperature from the rest of my skin. if i scrape it (even just lightly, like scratching with a fingernail) it feels like its bleeding even when its not.
if i accidentally hit it (i dont like doorways), it is extremely painful, it burns, my vision flashes white and i see stars, and it feels like its bleeding all over again of course. it feels like the irl equivalent of being stunned by an electric arrow. if your character has a scar like this, having them get hit on it in a fight is a good way to make them go down for a bit. the sensation also lingers for a decent amount of time afterwards, depending on how hard the hit was. the lingering feels like a heavy pulsing/throbbing, similar to a strong headache but localized on the scar. personally, it feels like even minor impacts can have a really strong effect still as long as its a pretty direct hit.
so yeah just my personal experience having a scar like this! i like seeing characters with similar scars but it often feels like it was just a cosmetic choice to show that they're tough. it's not something that is super high-impact for me, but it still has its effects, and when you aggravate them you can't really focus on anything else until it goes away.

okay so while at work today my brain was like here's some rejanis stories you should write and idk if i will...i mean i'm gonna to get it out of my brain but idk if i'll post them because wildmoore is the only ship i've written for like that anyway two things
Regina and Janis do not end up together until years later because reasons and listen idk why but Regina dates Cady senior year i don't even ship them so idk why and when Janis finds out she just burst out laughing okay like she falls out of her chair she's laughing so hard like 'bitch are you serious?' and depending on who she finds out from...there are multiple conversations my brain spewed out help me
ALSO my favorite theory about the R necklace is that it was gifted to Regina by Janis but the new one doesn't seem like something she would buy. so my theory is at some point (after the demise of their friendship) it breaks and instead of repairing it as is, (she doesn't have the heart to dispose of it) Regina changes the chain to one she swiped from Kyle. but its too masculine for her taste so she works her magic to get real pearls from her dads jeweler for free and then turns the R gold which goes much better with her new queen bee lifestyle omg
OR maybe she's had it since before she even met Janis and in elementary school it breaks at recess and she's so heartbroken she just tosses it in the trash, which makes Janis want to cry right there in the middle of class. so she secretly takes it home and a week later she presents it to Regina and gets the biggest smile she's ever seen with a side of 'you're the bestest ever' and yeah Regina still wears that version long after ruining Janis' life because obviously

After my Princess posting last night, I realised I forgot to include a post detailing which animation Shifty has when presenting you with various vessels, so this one will have that, as well as some insight into how long it took me to compile such information
Chapter 2 vessels Chapter 3 vessels Endgame poems (Chapters 2s) Endgame poems (Chapter 3s)
Dance: Adversary, Damsel, Thorn, Tower, Witch
Hands: Apotheosis, Networked Wild, Prisoner, Prisoner's Head, Razor's Heart, Stranger, Wounded Wild
Roar: Beast, Den, Eye of the Needle, Fury, Razor
Scary: Burned Grey, Deconstructed Damsel, Drowned Grey, Moment of Clarity, Nightmare, Spectre, Wraith
* * *
So. There are 25 statements by Shifty about each vessel and 34 endgame poems. That is a grand total of 59 different things I had to write down and categorise. Averaging five minutes to write out Shifty's statements and ten minutes for endgame poems, it took me about eight hours to get it all down (and that's not counting playing through the game numerous times or making the posts). I will be doing all of this for the Pristine Cut too, so that's another few hours. It's exhausting, but it's fun
If you come across this post, I'd be ever so grateful for a reblog. I want to make this stuff easily accessible for people who don't want to go through the whole game over and over and over again

the nature of my mental health is such that I'll be writing my little fics and having a lot of fun and then I'll think "okay but what if gabriel garcia marquez read this. he wouldn't like it." and I'll sit there alone in my room fully embarrassed because of this even though IN WHAT WORLD is that reasonable standard for fanfiction

The only way a "feminist retelling" is still feminist is simply where genders are equal, despite history (or the original story) saying otherwise.
Example. History/Original text: "Men do all major decision-making and fighting and don't do childcare while women do housework, are quiet, and take care of children."
Retelling? Anyone can do whatever they want. Regardless of gender. Everybody does sports, school, war, caregiving, ruling, etc. And if the original text has any sort of sexism, it can be changed.
If you'd like, you can have possible pushback to make "tension" but also?? Why not just...not have that? A man would rather be the caregiver? Fantastic! A woman leads the country? Awesome! Or vice versa and still are respected for what they do and no one bats an eye? Hell yeah because there's nothing wrong with someone enjoying what they do as long as it's not affecting others! :D
Feminism does not mean hatred/bitterness towards men or always portraying them as awful. JUST BECAUSE THE SYSTEM WAS MYSOGINISTIC DOES NOT MEAN THAT EVERY MAN FOLLOWED SUIT!!! It also doesn't mean that every single man is a horrible person!
The retelling should not have misandry to "make up" for the original's misogyny. If your story has this vendetta against all men and/or portrays them only in a negative light, then it's no longer feminist.
Also please stop with the near-constant sexual violence in these retellings ಥ╭╮ಥ Especially if it wasn't there in the first place or doesn't add to the story other than shock value.
