Rough Snippet from next chapter!
“Are you ready?” he asked.
“I- wait you were serious about flying?! Have you lost your mind!”
“Absolutely. Now we’ll take off on the count of 3.”
“Wait can’t you just sprinkle some of your magical dust on me or something?! Why do you have to carry me like this?!”
“I’m a star, dear. Not a fairy.”
“What’s the difference?!”
“3-,”
“Hold on a second, shouldn’t we, I don’t know-,”
“2-” he adjusted her in his arms.
“WHOA, You’re actually not going to do what I think are you? Valentino tell him no!” Valentino excitedly bleated, which earned him a smile from the star as he nodded. “Traitor!” she yelled to Valentino.
“1-”
She squeezed her eyes shut, anticipating the quick ascension. She could feel it! They were rising now! She screamed, thrashing and kicking as she felt the air around her thin. “NO! PLEASE! I’M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!” she choked. “WHY IS THE AIR SO THIN UP HERE?! SLOW DOWN! WE’RE GOING TOO FAST! WE’RE FALLING-”
“But…I haven’t even left the ground yet?” he said softly, as Asha cracked open one eye. True to his words, they hadn’t left the ground.
“Oh.”

Screentime For the Prince
You know how in the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, each character's true nature is revealed by what they choose to treasure?
You know, Grumpy treasures safety because his true nature is vulnerable, the Queen treasures beauty because her true nature is ugly, and Snow White is the only one who's treasure is as true as her nature: pure love?
And how the Prince only gets around 5 minutes of screentime, and in those 5 minutes, proves that he A) treasures Snow White's true nature of pure love and B) keeps his promises?
Well, I was thinking. In the new Live Action, they're basically writing in a different male character in place of the Prince and not focusing on any kind of love story. So it's not actually "Snow White." But what would a good, faithful, beautiful adaptation of Snow White look like? (You know, one that actually does adaptations correctly--like Cinderella 2015?)
What should they be doing with the Prince?
I have a general idea below.
I mean, they can't introduce him in the same way they did in the classic animation. Obviously modern people aren't used to so much nuance in their big-screen fairy tales anymore; 5 minutes of screentime isn't enough, we prefer Mr. Darcy & Lizzie Bennet-levels of couple-building interactions, at least. And that's okay.
But it means we have to fill in a lot of the blanks about where this Prince comes from and why he values Snow White's "pure love nature" so strongly.
So I figure, in my head, it might look something like:
The Prince (let's call him Walther, German for "Walt," since basically everybody who worked on the original movie agrees that it was Walt's big brain child, and the popularized "Ferdinand" is not only fan-made but makes me think of a kindhearted bull) is the heir to a neighboring kingdom's throne.
Prince Walther isn't King yet, not because his parents are still King and Queen (they're dead,) but because tradition states he can only take the throne once he's come of age. Prince Walther's like 17, turning 18. So instead, his kingdom is essentially run by this council of busybodies, with one Regent holding the throne until he's old enough to take it. Something like that.

(the picture is of Dean Stockwell who's the son of the original voice actor for the Prince, I think someone who looks like him ought to be cast.) Prince Walther experienced pure love from his parents, who treated him like a normal boy and didn't place much emphasis on courtly manners or politics when raising him. But then they died tragically, leaving their honest and innocent son to be raised by a bunch of old people who put way TOO much emphasis on those things.
Because everyone in Prince Walther's court has had to handle being next-door neighbors to the Wicked Queen's country. They're all super political, and afraid of appearing weak, and therefore, very insincere. That's what I'm saying.

Everyone he interacts with on a daily basis never comes out and says what they really want. Nobody is genuine. He lives a life of hearing words like, "good morning Your Majesty, I hope you slept well. The Grand Duke could certainly stand to sleep better; the poor fellow looked run down at breakfast." but learning that what they actually mean is, "The Duke is getting old and ineffective and when your birthday passes you should decree that he give his land and resources away to me."
And he misses the genuine love the court used to feel from his parents' kind, simple way of ruling. No political games, no complex feuds. Plus, he misses the personal love they shared as a family, genuine, uncomplicated. He missed the days when people just say what they really want, unafraid, so that their rulers can take care of their needs.
Then there's the problem of why Prince Walther's in the Wicked Queen's realm in the original movie--that's not his territory, if he has his own kingdom.

So I think it would be neat and interesting if the Queen wants Walther's land. Maybe she invited his parents, way back when, to a kind of audience to negotiate an alliance. Then she got jealous of his mother's beauty, maybe even tried to seduce Prince Walther's father, and assassinated them both when he rebuffed her. Oo, maybe even the Huntsman (her FAITHFUL Huntsman) helped her do it all those years ago.
But she didn't realize they had a young son, so she couldn't just raise her hand and say, "Hey Neighboring Kingdom, it's too bad your monarchs both mysteriously died--don't worry, I'll be your new leader" because Prince Walther's council suspected foul play (they always do, they're suspicious people) and were preemptively like "NO NO WE HAVE A PRINCE, WE HAVE A PRINCE! We're fine, we don't need help, everything's fine."
So she sort of had to stew on that. Maybe she even tried a couple more halfhearted attempts to get their throne, and they just never worked out--then eventually her attention was occupied by how much older her stepdaughter was getting, and how much prettier.
Anyway, Prince Walther asks for an audience with the Wicked Queen; he's about to become King, and he knows that the council fears their neighbor, and he sort of wants to go over and size the next-door ruler up for himself. So he rides over with a little delegation of the members of the Court he can actually tolerate the best, and is visiting.
It's not fun. They're only there for a day, but the Wicked Queen is definitely scary. For one thing, she's unnaturally beautiful and everyone he brought with him is either stupefied in her presence or terrified. He himself is very confused by her; he's an open-hearted guy, with a touch of naïveté even though he was raised with good intuition and doesn't trust the Queen. All audiences with her are full of all the formal, double-and-triple meaning conversations that he hates back home; except worse, because she makes everything seem more sinister.
So after a particularly weird conversation with the Queen where he can't decide if she was flirting with him or threatening his kingdom, he goes for a ride around the courtyard to clear his head. And what should he hear, like a breath of the freshest air since his parents died?
A pure, beautiful voice. A young girl singing--and not just singing about anything, but singing about what she really wants. Genuinely. Her heart's fondest desire--and it's not power, or land, or even freedom. Just love. She's singing loudly, like she doesn't care who might hear such a vulnerable longing.
And he climbs over the wall and sees this scullery maid. She's absolutely beautiful, even though she's dressed all in rags, and he loves the picture of her: sharing her heart with doves, who feel completely safe with her, and not having to worry about what anyone thinks of her.

He sort of eavesdrops on her for a little bit, and in this part of the movie, maybe we learn how impulsive he is. He just jumps over and tries to join in. Maybe it's even a little funny. And we can stretch out the feelings behind the part where Snow White runs from him--that feeling of her being unsure of a stranger, not because she worries about what he thinks, but because it's so surprising that anyone is taking notice of her so abruptly at all. And she doesn't know him.
Maybe he asks to extend his stay at the Queen's palace and keep negotiating or whatever, but he really just wants to get to know the scullery maid better.
Then the romance is sort of still fast, but built in a way that the audience can sink their teeth into. The Prince and Snow White have a few more mutually-agreed-upon meetings, not necessarily hiding them, but just in breaks between courtly audiences with the wicked Queen. They're both enamored with each other: she's never been treated so kindly by anyone and his whole faith in pure, innocent love and uncomplicated, genuine people is being restored just by talking to her. They bond chiefly over missing their parents.
Eventually he learns that she is the Queen's daughter--maybe from the Huntsman, maybe from Snow herself in an innocent way. He's stunned that she's treated so poorly, but the second he learns it, he confesses that he loves her and he wants to take her away from there. Plus, this solves the whole "will my kingdom go to war with the Wicked Queen or be allies even though we can't trust her" diplomacy thing--Snow White is her heir, so it would be a beautiful twist of Providence that the girl he has fallen in love with can also be the alliance of peace for the kingdoms through marriage.

Snow White accepts his proposal, but she's afraid for a moment that her stepmother won't allow it. The Prince urges her not to be afraid: he'll take her to his castle and they'll be happy no matter what: he promises it, he gives her his word, he encourages her not to worry because he won't let anything stop him. It's lovely. She finally has someone she can gift her superpower of pure love to, and someone who can treasure her like she deserves.
Problem is, the Queen overhears this last conversation, right after learning that Snow White is the new "Fairest of All" from her mirror, just like in the original film.
So while the Prince is convincing his council that he's proposed to Snow White, the Queen's largely-unknown secret stepdaughter, and is going to reveal the fact to the Queen tomorrow, the Huntsman and the Queen herself are plotting the assassination attempt that eventually leads to Snow running for her life and living with the Dwarfs before she ever gets the chance to see her betrothed again.
Then the movie unfolds largely the same way it did, but with more dialogue and nuance strengthening the original's main themes: Snow White is pure love in nature, and that's everything the Prince has been missing, and he fulfills his promise which she has total faith in. And along the way, the Dwarfs learn to care more about protecting an innocent girl than they care about protecting themselves, and treasuring a person over jewels. Grumpy in particular. And the Queen dies because she's a jealous witch who's self-love has twisted her into something ugly.
Basically, what I'm saying is, there's a way to make the Prince compelling for audiences who are now used to more fleshed-out interactions in movie couples. Just give him a background that is longing for pure, uncomplicated, innocent love. Then when he runs into Snow White, who's never been treasured and valued since her parents died, they give each other everything they've been longing for--and then they have faith in one another when circumstances, both funny and sinister, force them apart.
It's like the Notebook (just in story structure)--you build up romance in the first act through a few poignant scenes, but then the rest of the movie is about waiting for that romance to be fulfilled.
Anyway. I guess I could've said all this more succinctly, but I was kind of making it up as I went. 🤷♀️

✨️Coming Soon✨️
Today is the day that the "Snow White" remake releases.
While I didn't watch it and don't plan to do it, I am preparing something Snow White-related.
(I wanted to post the thing today, but I had the idea for this 3 days ago. So yeah, planning ahead is not my skill lol.)
But do enjoy this drawing from the little project:

Yes, it's a Snow White AU kind of thing. WoaS!Asha will be the main character "Rose White" (named after her dead mom's favourite flower) and the role of the Evil Queen will be played by non-other than WoaS!Magnifico:

(Refrence drawing of "King Vano")
I might be done some time during this week-end. I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks!✨️

I had a lot of the same issues with reload as I see you’re having, and I do think most of it is from the new team’s inexperience. They’re trying to recreate a game that made very purposeful decisions in its mechanics and cutscenes without understanding why those decisions were made, which really undermines the experience.
If the team had more experience under their belt, or had full creative decision on an entirely new game, I feel like they could make a really good game! Reload is not that though.
I completely agree anon. It's a shame too, because it's not an awful game, just a different one. I wish they hadn't tried to recreate FES as a test project on a shoestring budget when it was literally the benchmark for our modern Persona games. It changed so much, it's iconic, a cult classic.
I really wish they wouldn't have lied about not planning EpiAi beforehand so they could cover the fact that the game doesn't look all too good. I wish they hadn't charged $200 for an "Aigis Edition" and not include the dlc. I wish they hadn't sanitized and scrubbed the game about death and grieving of all things that were slightly upsetting. That's what ended up happening though, and as you said, they're trying to recreate a game that was very purposeful in its creation.
Reload was a cheap quick test that they knew would work because it has a wonderful story and dedicated fans. As long as they make it a fun popcorn game, they don't have to put in those purposeful additions or think about it much at all.
#compendiumnotebook#thank you for the ask anon!#These characters are new characters#This game is a new game#Its fine if this was your first expierence to P3 and its wonderful if you enjoyed it#I truly do believe Persona3 is a timeless test of art. I don't hold Reload in that same regard.#i wish they would have given them a new game to work on rather than remake an old game.#its already done though#just gotta look towards the future#man epiai was egregious#i really wanted to love it#and i did enjoy it more than base#the gameplay loop was super addicting#and i loved the chapel floor#but those characters and that story and how they retold it left a really bad taste in my mouth#loved erebus though!! he was fun. the model was p good in the dark#heartful cry was good and the colosseum fights were difficult#and metis was lovely#loved metis#but oh my god the downplay of yukari. the complete redaction and rewrite of scenes. unforgivable.#i really hated how i felt during the end of base and epiai#and i hate that i felt so sour.#its fine. I'm probably just gonna stay off twitter and away from reload stuff from now on.#gonna give it some time#maybe I'll go back and answer some questions in my inbox that i haven't yet#talk about and analyze fes some more#and when im feeling better maybe I'll go back to criticize and analyze why i didnt like reload as much#untill then

Oof yeah, truly one of the most disorienting episodes of the show (for me, at least). Not that the rest of it was a shining bastion of feminism or anything, but that one in particular felt especially reductive and kinda ooc for the whole cast. Felt like a list of checkboxes they *had* to make for some reason rather than allowing the beach episode they had such good bones for.
Yeah I think that and the Shiro episode are my least favourites so far bc they're unreasonably mean-spirited about Haruhi's gender fuckery. I do think the 'we had an artificial beach episode, now let's have a real beach episode' thing was kinda funny, but the assault-y and misogynistic stuff really dragged it down. Ig at least they tried a bit to make Tamaki learn something from it, and tbh after watching Princess Sapphire, Rose of Versailles and the original Ranma I'm used to gender fuck-y anime getting messy with gender politics like this even if it does always suck to see.
#asks#much as i wish every series could handle it as deftly as stuff like su or heartstopper or wandering son or komi ik that ain't gonna happen#so i'll take what i can get with gender fuckery#tbh though i think the ranma remake is a really good indication of how you could do an ouran remake#shave off or rewrite some of the questionable stuff#and keep in the stuff that was really ahead of its time and is still important to see in media now

BBR thoughts 2024
Since I mentioned that I finally dusted off an old project of mine and was ruminating on how I'd remake it, I thought I'd elaborate a little, now that I've solidified some concepts. For funsies
This is gonna be a bit of a long and unfocused one, but I don't share my personal thoughts here often, especially the stuff about my projects I always marinate in. And for once it's something that people have existing context for, so hey why not
So for anyone who hasn't been following me for a gajillion years, The Black Brick Road of OZ was a webcomic that I posted around 2013-2015, back when I was in highschool going on college (which is kinda crazy to think about). It was sort of a darker twist on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, although I definitely leaned a lot more into dark humor more than anything in those first few chapters
I don't think it's available to read anywhere anymore, and I know people have been asking me about it. So here's the full proper archive of BBR, as full as it can be with deceased Flash
I totally used it as an excuse to shamelessly and self-indulgently experiment. It had interactive pages and GIFs and was wayyy too overproduced for what I could handle or what was necessary, but I did have great fun making it while it lasted
Unfortunately, that excess and the fact that I've changed too much as a person by the time I was in college is what ultimately killed it. The direction I wanted to go in was practically unrecognizable from the original idea started back in 2011, so there were many old hold-ups that I felt ruined it
At the time I kinda wished I could start/rewrite it all over, but considering that I pretty much had the entire script done at that point, it felt like a pointless sisyphean task. So I just put it on a shelf and didn't look back for about 8 years, because I didn't know what else to do
Now to be fair, the nature of my art has always been iterative and cyclical; when I feel like my creative juices have run dry I prefer to leave a project to marinate and move on to something else; cycle through other old things and bring in new skills and perspectives into the mix when I'm ready again. Not very productive, but it is what makes me happy to work on my OCs; I'm doomed to hit a wall with them eventually and I need some time to be able to find a new direction
So that said, I'm glad that BBR was left to marinate for that long. I don't think I was prepared, emotionally or intellectually, to tackle it again until now. The Wizard of Oz book (and the entire series of them, really) has always been near and dear to my heart, but there's a lot of context around it that I'm only unpacking now that I'm older
I think I always inherently feel negatively about the stuff I've made in the past, like its faults always jump out to me more than the positives, especially the more time passes. I've never liked that, and I do really appreciate the kind things people have to say about BBR to this day. The fact that it still can be recognized and remembered is very sweet
When I left it, I already found it "kinda cringe", and that feeling only deepened with years. When I took my first look back at it, asking the question "how would I rewrite it now?", at first I took a very cynical approach, as in "everything would have to be torn down"
But the more I sat on it, the more I found that I still see some merit and charm in the ideas I was putting out; I just didn't know how to execute them at the time (not to pretend that I know what I'm doing now, but I certainly know more at least). Turns out a lot of my old concepts could be changed substantially with just a few small tweaks. So I'd say that's a nicer way to think about my previous work
If you haven't seen yet, I posted a first draft of my new designs for some of the characters (the main group, the Goods and the Wickeds). Definitely subject to change, but more or less how I see them now
I'm just playing with these concepts; by no means would I attempt to remake BBR right this moment. Call it a pipe dream among my other ones. But just for fun, this is the direction I'd like to take:
Nowadays I'd probably make it a visual novel, with more emphasis on the visual part than the novel because I'm no English prose writer by any means. It'd still let me play a little with the interactivity while helping cut some corners on the drawing part (only some, I imagine I'd go hog wild anyway)
I've always intended for some events inspired by the sequel books to take place in BBR's past. Stuff like Jinjur's revolt or Ozma's rule preceeds the main events here. So I think it would be fun to follow the past of a few key characters alongside the main story. One chapter focusing on the present quest to see the Wizard, then one focusing on the past events (that are maybe reflective thematically); rinse and repeat
I'm also sticking a little closer to the original text in some regards. Not everything that I enjoy from the books would be translated here, it's still just a very loose fantasy on the material; but I'd like to be closer in spirit at least
I like mature, wise and powerful Glinda, I like kind and vulnerable Tin Man, I like the Wizard being a pathetic yet loveable liar, so I'm sprinkling in more of that for example
I'd like to keep some whimsy, but make it more grounded and a bit more serious to be coherent in tone. I think the original TWWOOZ book was a more realistic fantasy in some ways, even for the standards of the time; I like its simple but vivid tactile descriptions and details like bringing attention that Dorothy needed to eat and sleep
I find it funny that Baum specifically was averse to making his books scary or unpleasant, finding that unnecessary for telling a compelling kids story, but they still can get pretty dark and disturbing, at least for our modern sensibilities. Let's just say that I intend to use the Evoldo and Chopfyt storylines for my purposes. In that way, I feel like a "darker" Wizard of Oz retelling can still mostly be tonally in line with the original and balance it with enough heart and occasional humor
I slowly grew to appreciate the quaint old-timey quality of the original series, as well. The first book is both timeless and very much a product of the 1900s. Originally I tried to give it a little modern or at least anachronistic spin, but it was moreso because it's what I knew best, so these days I'd rather intentionally lean into the time period. Still not fully historically accurate by any means, but at least directly acknowledging the influence
The events of the story span across 40 years of these characters' lives, so I'm drawing inspiration from the entire so-called La Belle Epoque: the time period around 1880s-1920s. Basically I'm cooking, and my soup is old Victorian fashion morphing into Edwardian fashion and slowly inching towards flappers
Some new Dolly outfits
Lots of crazy things, political changes and innovations were happening at the turn of the century, which I think is noted and reflected by Baum in the books as well; the character of Tik-Tok might not blow any minds now, but he was one of the first robot characters in literature at that point; and don't even get me started on Jinjur, etc. Plenty of really interesting stuff one could lightly ponder in an Oz adaptation these days
Aesthetically, art nouveau has always been a big artistic influence for me, and it'd definitely be its time to shine here. John R. Neill's illustrations of the Oz books often keep me company as well. Nouveau architecture in particular fits that fairytale whimsy extremely well imo
I'd allow myself a little bit of art deco here and there, but ultimately its intimidating geometrical splendor is an antithetical to the flowery nature of nouveau and I associate it with a completely different era. Definitely fitting some characters like my Wicked Witch of the West, but shouldn't be overused
One of my main problems with the original BBR was that eventually I lost track of what it was even about; and the original ending felt too mean and unfulfilling to be worth it. Now I'd like to stick to the theme of home and family as my main theme, but in a different, more bittersweet way than in the book
An interesting connection I made is that a lot of my aforementioned older key characters (the Witches, Jinjur, the Nome King, etc) all came from the same reformatory as kids, that's how they know each other. In my recent research I learned that in those reformatories it was usually frowned upon to release the children back to the families, which were seen as the original corrupting influence regardless of the circumstance. The reformatory did everything in its power to cut that connection and make itself the only family those wayward kids were supposed to know and love. That's an unexpected tie into the theme of home that I'd like to explore as well
So yeah that's the current state of it. I have a bunch of outfit concepts I'm slowly cooking, although I'm now sure whether I'd post them... But I do miss these funny guys, and I'm glad some people still do as well :)

as much as i love tony and peters bond in mcu im in love with dr. strange and dannys bond in usm. ✨️magic papa and his magic son✨️
can i,,,, maybe,,, maybe we can get a little bit of them 🥹
I gotchu bro😌
this is inspired by episode 13 “Strange”
man I need usm remake so bad bc they did Danny so dirty, like in episodes where he suppose be more important character he always ends up not being able to help… I get it we don’t need every character to be strongest and most confident hero ever, but I just wish they spend bit more time exploring his self-doubt, it would feel less like “let’s get rid of Iron fist asap so we can focus more on Spidey…. Again” and it would be kinda nice to see exploration of that feeling of “not being worthy”… also it’s kinda funny bc during watching first 2 seasons I’ve noticed he is probably character of the team with least amount of lines and most amount of failed attack attempts, so they kinda had unintentionally good foundation for developing Danny’s incecurity
If I had to rewrite it, I would definitely choose to go more into his doubts of not being worthy of his power, combined with not fitting in because of how long he was in K’un Lun and not everyone being fan of his wisdoms + hiding his secret identity behind lame excuses (like every one of them lol) and all of this would make it so depressing to watch this sunshine just trying his best… it would make his and Peter’s friendship more valuable since Peter would look past Danny’s weird behaviors and just see him as he is - really kind and always willing to help everyone type of guy
No but like seriously his fist moths as superhero in New York must have been hella awful, not just being new to hero stuff in general but also not knowing his way around, not being used to big city in general and not knowing anyone there besides dr. Strange who I guess he doesn’t meet on daily bases… and also I feel like all members of Spidey’s team are very competitive so I can imagine at fist (before spidey joined shield) they wouldn’t be so friendly towards each other. But I think later on they would become more used to being around each other and since Ava and Sam would became first duo of the team (like spending their free time together and just talking) it would be natural for Danny and Luke becoming bros… and Peter then would be just nice addition to the team
I love dr. Strange’s design in usm sm, he indeed is cuntiest old man lol
omg do you see that? I drew background too, I’m very shocked myself, I doesn’t do that very often

TNE Fandom where are you?
Sujin shippers where are you?
I have Fics to Rec
I don't really go out of my way to rec fics (and I dunno why I have never done this before on tumblr), but BY GOD, have these two fics taken a special place in my heart.
I ADORE everything about them.
They are both Suho x Hajin ships
But the ship aside, I am so incredibly grateful for the authors to have brought them to life and allowed us to read these absolute GEMS of a fic in this little, little fandom of The Novel's Extra.
Really, y'guys have no idea how giddy and excited I get at every update.
Now, the fic in question?
1. Flowers of Agápē by @descendedgaia
Kim Hajin is a failure. There's no two ways to look at that objective truth. It's a truth that resonates through how others look at and ridicule him. It's a truth that echoes infinitely inside his head, compounding and doubling down on his inadequacies. It's a truth, despite the unconditional love of two parents that soothe but cannot dispel those haunting doubts. Kim Suho is simply perfection. The desperate vessel and ideal of Hajin's "ifs" and wishes. Because Kim Suho, the protagonist of Hajin's novel, is everything Hajin wants to be for his parents and more. But, that same story falls apart at the seams the same way Hajin has lost faith in himself. Yet, as the common narrative dictates, everything begins anew with an innocuous email requesting to remake Hajin's novel, his desperation and desire incarnate.
*** Alternatively, the extremes of Korean culture break Kim Hajin into someone who feels much more acutely, and everything shifts to the left.
This is such a MASTERPIECE. Hajin's characterisation in here is just *chefs kiss*. For me, thats one of the biggest plus points in this fic. Hajin is so much more emotionally sensitive in here and feels far more acutely than in the orignal, as should have been.
This fic has been adressing almost all the points that made me frown at or dislike in the orignal novel and manhwa (and from what I can notice, almost every one too).
This fic is kinda a rewrite of the orignal novel, (tho the author follows the manhwa flow of the story) with added Suho interactions, and such good characterization of Hajin, I fell in love at first read LMAO.
So far, there aren't any major spoilers (unless you read the author end note, where they give their own tid-bits of the chap, which sometimes contain spoilers too, or go to the comment section which may sometimes give you spoilers to the novel lol) If you are caught up with the manhwa, or atleast the season 1 of manhwa, then so far there won't be any spoilers for you!
And I think i'll stop talking about it here cuz if I keep going, I think i'll end up giving in-fic spoilers Lmao
(Oh, btw, this updates every other thursday! So far, it's been consistent in its updates ^^)
So onto the next fic!
2. Mountain To No one by @thek1ngtalks (as k1ng0fn0b0dy on ao3)
There's a number on his smartwatch that leads to nowhere. Suho's gotten in the habit of texting it throughout his day. Today, it texted back.
_ Or, in a world missing Kim Hajin, everyone is worse off. Fixing this starts with (a lot of) text messages between a protagonist and his missing piece.
And Man.... where do I begin? I have SO MUCH to say about this fic but I think i'll end up spoiling the whole fic if I start lmao. It's just so good dammit. Just gonna say that this fic takes after the end of the novel, after the conclusion. Only couple few remembers Hajin in the orignl right? Well, in this fic, nobody does. But Suho is probably (???) Going to be the first to remember... I dunno tbh, the fic is only 2 chaps in (and yes, I really adore it already)
I love what the author did with Suhos character and how he is dealing with the aftermath of... everything. Same goes for Hajin, and I love where they seems to be taking this fic. How they characterizes these two main characters and everything.
Listen, I have a LOT to say but i'll just end up giving spoilers so really go read it for yourself. This is another MASTERPIECE of a fic and I am so grateful for its presence in this little TNE fandom TT
Really, thankyou for such amazing fics authors!!
And that's all from me!! Lol I was so excited while writing this XD (could you tell? Lol)
(I edited this post twice because of all the typos I ended up making in excitement LMAO)

if they remade Danganronpa 1 and 2 i wouldn't actually want full remakes. no rewrites or anything like that, no sudden full 3D or whatever etc. more i'd just want them brought up to the level of V3, because V3 has a few things i miss in earlier games:
being able to move the camera around a room, ha. this is small and trivial and a nothing point but I Need To Stim during long conversations
(actually, did DR2 have that? i can't remember. regardless, needed in DR1)
seeing protag's face during convos
the sprites standing in a 3D space during a convo so the camera whirls around when lots of people are talking
a few extra small effects on the sprites where necessary (thinking about Himiko shaking like a chihuahua)
Kicking over Shit to find money to buy our girlfriends Playstation Vitas from Monokuma
armament argument!!! in DR1 especially, everyone gets so utterly feral and primal in their rebuttals that it'd look/work great (imagine Hina or Celestia?)
DEBATE SCRUM!!!
ideally i'd also want:
Slightly Updated sprites/sprite fixes (Toki's tiny hands??? bring her up to UDG level)
a few more sprites for everyone (which is something Komatsuzaki wanted in the first place, esp for DR1)
a few more CGs in DR1 and DR2 that don't break the flow too badly (V3 has more CGs in like two chapters than DR1 has in its entire game, give me more)
so the same writing, same game(s), just sort-of remastered. i guess there'd probably be a few extra lines needed for Debate Scrum sometimes but just get the voice actors back like for the end of V3
well, this is all pie in the sky Wishful Thinking anyway ha

HI i just saw your recent ultra space post hello. I wanna know what the theory you’re making is!!!!! The existence of the wormholes is so fascinating and I wish game freak would give us another alola game urghgh
Thank you USUM for confirming the existence of the pokemon multiverse and by extension, parallel universes with great similarity to canon timelines (hi rainbow rocket) this is the shit my brain thrives on
also the fact that mohn shows up at the end of USUM after you beat gladion (pokemon league) but doesnt recognize aether paradise or lusamine makes me think that maybe pokepelago mohn is actually an alternate version of him??
thoughts. give me them !!!
So recently someone named bluvioletbird made a post asking if ultra space was created by Arceus or not. And at first you'd think "yea probably" but then the more you think about it the weirder it gets.
USUM doesn't do a great job on expanding the ultra space lore but we did get extra dimensions or timelines where you could find pokemon or legendaries. I hope we get a legends game or a remake bro--
As for your theory about mohn being a different mohn I'm like "yea the original mohn was a different color from that mohn right?" So I went and checked and nope he's just green in usum. But then I got to thinking about how reg sun and moon mohn was red and then I was thinking "well ultra sun and moon is just a rewrite- wait does that mean that these are alternate timelines to the main game so if that's the case then the pocket dimensions in ultra space holding other pokemon do make sense?" But also if you remember there's another amnesiac post ultra space trainer, anabel. Now I have to dig to find stuff about her cause I never played emerald. But from what it seems like she was an important trainer. And then if you go all the way to legends arceus there's ingo, also a somewhat important trainer in a different time/place lacking his memory. And THEN there's even a dude in the desert who has a solrock/lunatone event where if you show him one he remembers his origins and goes back to space. This seems to be a recurring theme with trainer. (Gladion in a legends game plea--)
But yeah this is something for me to consider. As for all my other messy thoughts I did reblog the original post and it's near the top of my recent posts so you should be able to find it there +anyone else who posted. Have a good day/night!

The voices in my Wish Rewrite
I haven’t talked much about it, but in my Wish rewrite some characters would be recasted. I wanted to make this post just to show which actors I’d replace… And it’s pretty much everyone except Magnifico, cause ya know, Chris Pine is Magnifico, and Magnifico is Chris Pine, it’s just how it is.
So let’s get this started!
Asha- Denée Benton

Im absolutely OBSESSED with this woman’s voice, she sounds like an angel and carries so much personality in her performance, she sounds pure, youthful, hopeful but also strong, everything I imagine Asha as. THIS is what I imagine the 100th anniversary Disney princess sounding like. Not that I didn’t like Ariana DeBose’s singing tho, but I just love Denee Benton more, and hey, it’s my rewrite, so I get to imagine Asha’s voice how I please. Also I can totally see Asha and Aster singing this song.
Aster- Jordan Fisher
Oooooh this man, I love him so much. His voice has the perfect energy for Aster, sounding youthful and melodic like a prince, it had to be a literally other worldly voice, and I think Jordan’s voice is PRETTY DANG other worldly, like, this example I found on Spotify doesn’t even do him justice, go listen to his other singing chops on YouTube.
If you look up Jordan Fisher you’ll see the guy is DEEPLY connected with Disney in his career, from singing the song “Happily Ever After” 6 years ago, which is the theme song for the Magic Kingdom, to now being the main singer of 4-town in the movie Turning Red. And of course this one time he made a cover of “You’re Welcome”, the guy just lives and breaths Disney so WHY NOT have him as a wishing star? It just makes sense. But besides working with Disney he also has experience in a musicals such as Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Sweeney Todd and more recently he became the new Orpheus in Hadestown… And by god I need a good quality audio of him singing “Wait For Me” more than I need air because that song fits Aster’s character SO WELL.
Magnifico- Chris Pine
Yeah no surprises here, you can’t have Magnifico without Chris Pine… But HIS SINGING VOICE IN THIS SONG THOUGH??? ITS SO GOOD!!! I listened to “Any Moment” ONCE and now I constantly go back to listen to it over and over and imagine young Magnus and Amaya meeting in the woods. I still haven’t posted about Amaya’s backstory BECAUSE IM TOO LAZY TO FINISH THE DRAFT I HAVE EXPLAINING IT- But let me just say her hesitating to start a relationship with him is VERY accurate to her character. And Magnus being like “May I kiss you” out of nowhere because he: 1- Sees himself as irresistible so he thinks she’d fall for him with just that and 2- he had 0 social skills before he met Amaya.
And then there’s the line “Life is often so unpleasant, you must know that as a peasant” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is LITERALLY something my Magnifico would say, I’m so freakin lucky!
My point is, my rewrite’s Magnifico sounds like THIS when he sings, with a deep, smooth and honeyed voice that makes you want to trust him… Take that high pitched voice Chris Pine did in “This Is The Thanks I Get” and throw it out the window. Disney wasted the man’s talent. I’m so mad.
Amaya- Emily Blunt

Do you guys see my vision? Do I even have to say anything? Like really, go watch a scene of the Mary Poppins remake, any scene with her at all, that woman has a voice that DEMANDS respect, while also being motherly, it’s practically perfect in every way. I’m using “Open Up Your Eyes” here as an example though because… Well, it fits her backstory… Ya know, the backstory I’m stalling to talk about 👉👈… But it also just simply fits her personality in general!
And no disrespect for her voice in the movie, Angelique Cabral… BUT ITS EMILY BLUNT AS AN EVIL QUEEN!!! Come ooooon! It’s just meant to be!!!
Also side note, since we’re talking about Queen Amable, THIS design that came from an deleted scene is how I’ve imagined her the whole time:

Like, I could not STAND her hairstyle in the movie, it simply didn’t fit my vision for her character, see, Amaya is sophisticated but she’s also… Practical and likes to feel comfortable, hence why in my rewrite her dress has no sleeves, she values her own comfort more than conforming to the social norms… AND THAT HAIR LOOKING LIKE HEADPHONES WITH THAT CROWN THAT MADE HER FOREHEAD LOOK LIKE A SQUARE DROVE ME NUTS!
So yeah, this is our Queen Amable, voiced by Emily Blunt, with a British accent, in all her glory, we’re moving on.
Valentino- Gregory Mann

This is just a bonus mention, since Valentino doesn’t even sing in my rewrite, he just speaks in like 3 scenes… And you guys have only seen one of them so far. But either way, let it be known he sounds like Gregory Mann, because Gregory Mann sounds adorable. That is all.
Thank You For Reading!

10 Disney hot takes/unpopular opinons (Part 6)

Check out part 5 here. (Should I just use roman numerals instead of the actual numbers?)

Disney doesn't need to change their 3D animation style--I've heard people say Disney should change up their 3D style, similar to how their 2D films had different styles while still feeling like Disney. I disagree, since I quite like their default style, especially compared to Pixar and Dreamworks (who, at worst, feel too cartoon-y and thus like they should've been 2D instead).

2. I wasn't a huge fan of "The Princess and the Frog"--While I love the characters, the animation, and Tiana/Facilier's songs, I'm not a fan of jazz music, so the soundtrack never stuck to me, and I've never enjoyed animal-centric movies (save for where they're in a humanoid environment). That said, this film is SO underrated.

3. Even the good guys kinda did Quasimodo wrong--While I love Phoebus and don't hate the gargoyles, the writers make them look bad by being inconsiderate of Quasimodo's feelings. After being sheltered his whole life, he becomes humiliated (through no interference from the villain, which I appreciate) on his first outing and "ruins" everything. Phoebus doesn't understand how manipulated and hurt Quasimodo is by pressuring him to help him find the Court of Miracles, and the gargoyles telling Quasimodo that they thought he was made of something stronger than stone was hurtful considering his involvement with Phoebus accidentally led to the Romani people being imprisoned and Esmeralda about to be burned at the steak. There's a better way to motivate people than "they're you're friend/I thought you were stronger than this."

4. "Big Hero 6" is the most deserving (modern) Disney movie to have a sequel--Action movies are the most likely to get sequels in the live-action world if they make enough money, and the world of San Fransokyo is so interesting as a Japanese-American hybrid. I think this is more open-ended and structured for more storytelling than the fairy tale films. BH6 only made slightly less than "Moana," so the audience is there, instead of moving it to a tv show like "Tangled."

5. "Wish" should be on the Disney remake list--I don't need to explain myself. The movie was average at best, awful at worst, and if Disney ever decided to remake it (unlikely since it bombed, unless they're gonna remake EVERY animated film in their studio), they could use the OG concepts and give Julia time to rewrite her songs and make new/better ones.

6. "Why Me" isn't better than "Prince Ali (Reprise)"--I felt like WM was a bit too showtune-y, and while it provided more insight into Jafar's motivation, it should've done more if it was going to bring it up. Why wasn't he appreciated? Why was he looked down on? Don't give us a last-minute insight into the villain and then be vague about it. It could've been a cool way to flesh him out.

7. Jennifer Lee was made to take the fall for "Wish"--This is kind of an ignorant thing to say since I don't have all the details, but a theory I've considered is that Jennifer Lee, who was the CEO of Walt Disney Animation from 2018 to 2026, was removed from that position due to the failure of "Wish," which she co-wrote and co-directed. Given that "Wish" likely had exec interference, I think Disney wanted to show audiences that they were reacting to the poor box office performance by kicking off someone who was a big part of the creative team. To be fair, a Disney movie takes about 5 years ("Wish" was conceived towards the end of production of "Frozen 2"), meaning she could've only had a major hand in "Strange World" and "Wish," while "Raya and the Last Dragon" and "Encanto" were already underway with production when she became CEO--unless we get some production insight into Raya's last-minute crew/story change and if anything went amiss at "Encanto." Given that she worked significantly on "Wreck it Ralph" and "Frozen," Disney probably thought she was one of a kind (not saying she isn't), and thus promoted her quickly thanks to the movie's successes, only to panic when their 2022 and 2023 films bombed, especially when they had big plans for "Wish" as their anniversary film. As a result, they took her out of the equation and replaced her with Jared Bush, who is in a similar situation to her (only worked significantly on two films before being promoted), though he hasn't hit a snag in his films yet.

8. Disney should make (another) parody movie--Enchanted was a hybrid film, and "Frozen" was meta, but having a smartly-written comedy that parodied Disney films would be a good way to get the audience back on their side, particularly since many people think we're in a dark age now. HOWEVER! While "Enchanted" was made to parody all of Disney's eras up to the 21st century, it felt mostly derived from the classic Golden, Silver, and Bronze ages of Disney. I'd rather the new parody be influenced by the renaissance to revival eras.

9. Sequels should be discussed IMMEDIATELY--When I say "immediately," I'm not just slamming Disney opting to change the "Moana" series into a film 10 months before release (and giving them little wiggle room for alterations). By "immediately," I mean once the film's final box office is recorded, that's when the company should discuss franchising/sequels, rather than it feeling like a spur of the moment thing. Plus you can plan according, rather than them happening in quick succession (as the case with 2024, 2025, and 2027).

10. "Hocus Pocus" should've been an animated musical--I would've loved seeing a New England setting that took place only 100 years after the Sanderson Sister's death instead of 300, allowing for a medieval (well, technically Early Modern) setting, and I'd have loved to hear what the soundtrack would've been like. Plus Disney didn't have any animated releases in 1993, so that could've worked out.

Gotta give a big Happy Birthday to our boy, Aster! 🎂✨🌟

So far reading "Kingdom of Wishes" @annymation has been a really fun experience and I'm actually about to hit the chapter where he arrives soon, but I've seen posts from other fans about him and from what I've seen in some scenes, he's so freaking loveable, oh my gosh-
She really got his personality spot on from original concept/deleted scenes and even added more to his character, you just can't help but love the guy! Definitely recommend reading her story, this the most I've ever been invested in a rewrite! Almost feels like the script to an awesome remake film! (*coughcoughIwouldfundthatcoughcough*)

So my commentary about the remake uuuh It was pretty neat! I love the designs and I do prefer how they add the later villain characters at the start instead at the end of the series, especially since they are so connected with the battle of the bands
I also really like how Bon and Bonnie first start talking, and by that I mean being dorks
Fox I know you are bi in the remake but you cannot be saying fresitas like that man it sounds like a hate crime- /j
The part where Fred appears scared the shit out of me I thought my headphones were breaking lol
Meg is a conflict seeker and that is canon in every rewrite I see its incredible
And I wish I cared about T-Trap and Eak for me to be excited about them being a canon couple but I'm sorry I don't. I hope this series helps me to care
