I’m not mad about the polyamory (I would like to stress this point for anyone who wants to come after me for this post), I’m mad that Jughead Jones, one of, like, the two aroace characters in media people have actually maybe heard of (the other being Yelena Belova) is part of this romantic, sexual relationship.

thinking about archie comics and specifically ethel muggs, and how this character was originally designed to be incredibly ugly and unlikeable by making her tall and strong and sexually forward and giving her a gap in her teeth and short frizzy hair and a flat chest...

until eventually decades later the writers were like "actually this kicks ass" and now she's just a sweet and fun and canonically desirable girl with all those traits.

Riverdale season 7 should have been about Tabitha going through different timelines, maybe with Jughead as her assistant (very Jughead’s Time Police), as she tries to untangle things, and as she does, she takes everyone with her through various decades of Archie Comics, not just the 50s

One thing I love about Riverdale is how they cycled through so many different pairings like the whole damn cast of characters is essentially a polycule . But I wish Veronica x Jughead was explored more tbh….. it was never that enticing but it COULD’VE BEEN!!!!! Seeing them in the 50s made me realize there was so much we missed out on w them….. imagine…. Veronica with a partner who completely understands all of her niche ass references

Rewatching the final episode now recognizing that the Jughead walking along side Betty in the finale is writer!Jughead, who just wants to make sure Betty is happy and fulfilled with the ending that he wrote for her... Sorry to everyone who was frustrated with the finale centering around Betty, but RAS wrote that episode framing just for me.

Spotted: Another chapter where you have to pay attention to the details! Can A and J come to an understanding about J's past? Is Queen V up to take on the political power that her mother wields? Why, dear Daddikins is just waiting in the wings for his cue to enter stage right. And speaking of our Madam Mayor... What is she doing with the Sherriff?

This is my homage to Gossip Girl! There's not much to say about it without giving too much away. So I'll leave you with this dear readers...

“I just loved your spin piece in the paper,” Jughead shot a murderous glare at his feminine brunette counterpart as the four friends sat down to lunch.

Veronica pressed her fingers to her temple, feeling the headache that had been brewing all morning starting to grow in strength. “Can we not, Jughead?”

“You know,” he started, ignoring her words, “it’s one thing to write about the students of our school; but, it’s a completely other thing when you start pulling in people from the town.” He shook his head in disgust. He thought she understood what was going on in his life. He didn’t open up to people readily but he did with her and now he was beginning to think it was a colossal mistake.

Veronica was on the verge of tears. Her mother had manipulated her… again and she fell right into her mother’s trap. She knew what she was writing was wrong but with everything going on with her father she let her mother convince her that putting the spotlight on someone else was the best option. She didn’t know how to own up to her mistake. To admit that she was weak wasn’t in her vocabulary. So, she did what she did best, turn it back onto the other person. “No one cares.”

“I do!” He retorted.

I love the idea of Jughead and Betty getting married in the 50s. Not bc i think they’re “endgame”(I’m sorry I cringed as i wrote that) but bc I want the arc of repressed housewife Betty getting tired of her husband’s distance and following him and she sees him and Archie just hanging out shirtless like best bros do and assumes they are having an affair.

This unleashes her female rage and she finds her inner serial killer. But just as she’s about to take revenge on Jughead, Famous Hollywood star Veronica who has recently moved to Riverdale shows up at her book club. Betty is so distracted and into Veronica that she decides to just divorce jughead. Turns out she was the one cheating! She and Veronica leave town and go to Hollywood, where they secretly continue their affair while remaining “best gal pals” in public. Betty puts her killer instincts to use and becomes a producer.

Meanwhile, Jughead figures out that he’s gay and ace after Betty tells him that she knows about him and Archie. Through no homo damage control he re-examines his and Archie’s relationship and finally picks up on the homoeroticism dripping from every interaction (puts warning triangle on floor, “watch out for this puddle of homoeroticism, dear”). He and Archie go on to be “business partners” in whatever job Archie is doing that week. The End.

I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion (since I haven't heard anyone talking about it yet) but I really hated the way they completely erased Jughead's deafness. Every day real people deal with hidden disabilities like his and I'm sure someone, somewhere was really happy to see themselves represented in such a popular character. So the fact that the writers had the audacity to make him deaf and tease a fleshed out, meaningful plotline surrounding it- then give him powers to make up for it, forget about his predicament and then pretend it doesn't exist makes me really sad.

since im the designated riverdale mutual:

season 6 is about the paralell universe of rivervale and jughead and some others are aware of it (because jugheads double was killed and theres two reggies now) but it all began with a big bang, when a bomb placed under archies bed where him and betty laid in RIVERDALE blew up, that caused the dimension. some very interesting things never happened like toni and cheryl never broke up, jason blossom never died, hiram lodge was never a big bad villain because he died to cancer before veronicas 15th. i reallt dont know where theyre going with this to be honest but i know the realities have been shifting since season 5 with the whole cheryl witchlike powers thing . i know eventually theres going to be a breaking point in the timeline when everything comes to a head and i assume when they all get respawned in the 1950s with a whole new plotline and then jughead becomes aware of the issue as usual
