so with october being a writing challenge month for various folks, or even just if you're someone who's easily distracted and wants some motivation to stay focused- IDK how well known this site is, but I used to use it back in highschool when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and was like 'huh actually I wonder if that's still around'
It's called Write or Die and this is a different version but appears to have all the same stuff? Im gonna give it a whirl. You can set a timer, a word goal, and it basically bugs you if you start slacking off on your goal. There is also a 'kamikaze mode' where it will just straight up start deleting shit until you start writing again.
#kinktober 2023#writing challenge#write or die#writing resouce#go forth and create the words with self imposed deadlines/punishments my fellow neuro folks#i will be attempting to see if this helps me with kinktober

I recently started world-building for a new story idea (I knowâbad when I'm supposed to be in the middle of revising my current project) and in trying to figure out the level of technology and feeling of my new world I got lost in google searches about the different punk genres.
So I decided to make a master list.
According to Wikipedia (a highly reputable source by all accounts) a punk genre can be described as âa world built on one particular technology that is extrapolated to a highly sophisticated level (this may even be a fantastical or anachronistic technology, akin to retro-futurism) a gritty transreal urban style, or a particular approach to social themes.â
There are so many (so so many) and some people roll their eyes at every new addition but I think the names and distinctions are interesting and fun (I mean, Magicpunk may just be regular fantasy, but it sounds so much cooler). I love the idea of scientific fantasy, and of blurry the lines between the sci-fi and fantasy genres. Whoâs to stop you from mixing the culture of the Japanese samurai with an epic space opera in the stars?
This is an incomplete list. I've organized it by time period (loosely, because some overlap or can go anywhere). I've also provided an example of a published work (for those that have them).
Established Fantasy Punk Genres: An Incomplete List
Magicpunk/Dungeonpunk: Fantasy punk genre where the âone particular technologyâ that the world is build on is magic. You have trains running on lines of sorcerer-fueled energy and ships powered by wind magic and computers running on sub-dimensional energy from the demon realm. Popular examples include The Sleeping Dragon by Jonny Nexus and The War of the Flowers by Tad Williams.
Aetherpunk: Subgenre mix of Magicpunk/Dungeonpunk where the magic source of the technology is specifically the element of Aether. Often, if not always, also has Steampunk elements. The Aeronautâs Windlass by Jim Butcher is the only example that comes to mind.
Mythpunk: A punk genre that is inspired by or incorporates myths and legends. These arenât usually a retelling of a popular myth, but rather one that includes elements of the myth, or twists and changes the story around to itâs own ends. Popular examples would be American Gods by Neil Gaiman or Deathless by Catherynne Valente.
Stonepunk: Set in the stone age, this genre is characterized by the use of non-technology as technology, creating pseudo-tech and modern inventions with natural, basic resources like stone, wood, water, fire, clay, and rope. The Flintstones would be the best example.
Sandalpunk: Sandalpunk is on thin ice as a punk genre. Rather than being inspired or defined by a technology, it instead focuses on the period of time of the ancient world before the Middle Ages, often set in Greece or Rome. There arenât many examples of it. But the name is cool.
Steampunk: Arguably the most popular punk genre (after Cyberpunk) featuring science fantasy stories set in Victorian era, with advanced technology powered by steam engines and clockwork mechanics. Doctor Who perhaps described it best, ïżœïżœïżœThe Victorian Age accelerated. Starships and missiles fueled by coal and driven by steam.â There are many examples, both in literature and film, including His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman, Mortal Engines by Philip Reeves and The Parosol Protectorate by Gail Carriger.
Clockpunk: Close-cousin subgenre of Steampunk, characterized by a lot of clocks and inspired by the pre-steam energy period of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Pasqualeâs Angel by Paul J. McAuley is more Clockpunk than Steampunk.
Silkpunk: Silkpunk is another subgenre of Steampunk, one generation removed. While steampunk is defined by itâs Victorian era brass and steam aesthetic, Silkpunk is inspired by East Asian culture during the period of the Silk Road. Examples include The Dandelion Dynasty by Ken Liu and The Tea Master and The Detective by Aliette de Bodard.
Cattlepunk: Yet another subgenre of Steampunk, Cattlepunk is the across-the-ocean-bastard-cousin set in the wild west of early America. Cowboys, bank robberies, and train heists meet robots, warmechs, magic, and super-weapons. The Wild Wild West and Firefly verse are classic movie examples. Book examples would be the Mistborn Era II series by Brandon Sanderson and The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. (And I didnât realize until I just did all this research but based on examples this is like my favorite punk.)
Dieselpunk: This genre is set in the aesthetic of the 1920s-1950s era and is characterized by the use of diesel-powered technology. Commonly incorporates alternate history elements, as well as themes surrounding the Great Depression and World War II. Itâs been called the darker and dirtier version of Steampunk with an emphasis on air travel and combat, dirigibles, and air pirates. Examples include The Iroon Dream by Norman Spinrad, Dreadnough by Cherie Priest, and Pirate Utopia by Bruce Sterling.
Atompunk: A retro-futuristic punk genre set in during the Cold War and characterized by atomic nuclear technology, ray guns, robots, hover cars, and interdimensional travel. Atompunk often deals with the themes of nuclear power gone wrong and alternate versions of the Cold War. The most popular example of this would be the Fallout games by Bethesda.
Capepunk: Capepunk is just superhero fiction set in the modern-era world where people have powers. Example would be any superhero story ever. I just think the nameâs cool.
Gothicpunk: Gothicpunk is also usually set in the modern-era, but incorporates The Goth. Generally characterized by an underworld of supernatural creatures lying in wait and secretly controlling the workings of our world where humans are but cattle. This is basically dark Urban Fantasy, but itâs popular enough to get a distinction. Anne Riceâs Interview With a Vampire is an okay example. The movies Priest and Daybreakers are much better ones.
Cyberpunk: Cyberpunk, the grandfather of all of the punk genres. Characterized by dystopian and cynical future world in which technology has brought about cultural nihilism and a crap society. Often combined with Film Noir or detective fiction. (Fantastic Noir is a fantasy version of Cyberpunk). Heroes are most prone to be some form of hacker, rebel, or antihero fight against a totalitarian police state or corporate empire oppressing the people. Examples Neuromancer by William Gibson and the movie Blade Runner.
Post-Cyberpunk: This is Cyberpunks chipper, more optimistic sibling. It has all of the vision of a scientifically advanced cyber-culture without the gritty, dark, and edgy world elements. It still shareâs the Cyberpunk elements of analyzing how technology interacts and impacts with society, just without such a grimdark view of humanity. Examples would be Agent G by C.T. Phipps and The Peace War by Vernor Vinge.
Biopunk: Biopunk is Cyberpunks genetically engineered half-sibling. This punk centers around organic technology with a healthy smattering of bio-augmentation and biotechnology. Examples include In the Courts of the Crimson Kings by S.M. Stirling, West of Eden by Harry Harrison, and Wolfish Nature by Vladimir Vasilyev.
Nanopunk: Also a subgenre of Cyberpunk with characterized by the use of nanites and nanotechnology as the predominate form of technology. Examples are Tech Heaven by Linda Nagata and Micro by Michael Crichton.
Solarpunk: Solarpunk is a genre characterized by itâs environmentally friendly technology meshed with African and Asian cultures and an emphasis in community, art, and a bright solar future where humanity has found a balance between technology and nature. Can also include many elements of Biopunk, but with a much more optomistic, for-the-future-of-species-and-environment outlook. Example works include Zahrah the Windseeker by Nnedi Okorafor, Maurai by Poul Anderson, and Songs from the Stars by Norman Spinrad.
Apunkalypse: This genre is defined by the collapse of civilization where society is replaced by lawless bands of roving scavenger gangs or cities collapsing into decay or the rise of punks overthrows the rules of the past. Examples include Mad Max and Mortal Engines by Philip Reeves (which is also Steampunk, so itâs a good example of book incorporating more than one punk genre).
Desertpunk: Punk genre characterized by sand. Who doesn't love a good desert planet? Often features roaming tribes, wandering heroes, desert bandits, and sand storms. Can be combined with Cattlepunk, for a Western desert, or Apunkalypse, for an-after-the-end-of-the-world setting. Examples include Dune by Frank Herbert and Railsea by China Mieville.
Oceanpunk: This punk is set on the high seas. Often features floating cities of wood and iron lashed together and mighty nations fighting for dominion of the watery world and may also feature civilizations and cultures below the waves in underwater cities. Sometimes called Pirate Punk, because nothing breed pirate stories like ocean cities and sailing ships. Examples include The Scar by China Mieville, Tranquilium by Andrey Lazarchuk, and Dark Life by Kat Falls.
Did I Miss a Punk? Can you guys think of any other punks to add? Either ones you've thought up, or any you've heard of that I don't have listed. I'd love to keep this list updated. I find it's useful to look through when creating a new world to get the overall feeling of what I'm going for with the story and world-building.

Hi there! I'm Cate and for the last 6 years I've worked in emergency medical services on an ambulance in the Northeastern United States. I have also been an avid fanfic reader for a long time with a love for hurt/comfort and enemy-to-caretaker. With that in mind, I want to provide a resource to writers.
With the upcoming @whumptober having a plethora of options with trauma, I want to help make the research for injuries a little easier to find and understand.
Below the cut is a long list. If there is a specific catagory you want to see sooner rather than later, send me a message or an ask. Same for if there's something you want to see that's not there.
For ease of injury descriptions "Sam" is our injuried/ill character.
If you have any questions regarding country/regional/state treatment guidelines for your fictional first responders, please reach out and I will try to point you in the right direction. This information is intended solely for use as a fictional writing resource.

Hey I know this question might not be in your wheelhouse, but I'm hoping that you might be able to at least point be in a direction with good resources.
I'm writing a story with a character who has an unusually high chance of heart attack in spite of their otherwise healthy lifestyle (for plot reasons), and I think I've landed on "rare lipid disorder" as the cause I want to go with, but I'm having trouble finding resources that really explain the various types beyond "it gives you really high ldl cholesterol!". I don't have any real medical training so I was hoping there's some commonly used resouce I just don't know about.
One thing you could search is "familiar hypercholesterolemia". The most common is heterozygous, where a person can live a normal lifespan if they do appropriate lab testing and take appropriate medications (though they may have xanthelasmas (blebs of cholesterol under the skin around the eyes- see picture above) or xanthomas (cholesterol deposits in joints and tendons). This would be caught whenever the person has their first screening blood test for cholesterol.
The less common type is homozygous, where a person has cholesterol so high (LDL of over 600) that they generally do not survive past age 30 unless they get a liver transplant. The xanthelasmas and xanthomas here are present at birth and this would be caught very quickly.

While the fandom problem below didn't say fiction out loud I still will talk about fiction, because this is a fandom blog (I know this is obvious, but still I wanted to write this so the one I respond to won't be able to confuse it with anything)
So to that person who reblogged Fandom Problem #4679 with pedophilia as some kind of gotcha:
You know the problem with your thought process is that a lot of like-minded people have used this to justify bullying, harrassment and doxxing. OVER FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Can you find it icky? Of course! Do you have to like it? No! But you should know that these are fictional characters and harrassing people over things that aren't real is just fucking useless and disgusting.
In a fandom I am in, a lot of artists got harrassed on twitter, and one of them was because they made fanart of a ship that contains a 16 old guy and a 20 years old guy who fucking hate each other in canon. The artist got so many disgusting messages, that they tried to commit suicide. Luckily they could save their life, but the person, who initiated the hate mob didn't even feel much guilt, they just tried to blame it on the mob. And I really don't like the ship but still find this behaviour fucking yikes đ (If I see similar ships I just click away and ignore it)
AO3 volunteers also got CSEM in their emails because... fuck fictional content? It's fucking disturbing that the ones opposing against fictional dubious content are the ones searching and sending actual CSEM.
Also because of these stupid alligations now the terms "pedo" "racist" "transphobe" and their siblings got watered down so much that if I see someone being called a pedo, I firstly think that someone gets these accusations because of fiction. With this "pedo" accusations you make it makes even more possible for actual predators to hide. Because no one will take these seriously. Besides reporting fanart of actual fictional characters (like lolis) takes away time and resouces from child protection services like this ask had stated a little ago for #4646: https://www.tumblr.com/damnfandomproblems/743910540778291200/for-one-of-the-comments-doubting-that-this-happens?source=share
And yes, I know about Canada's loli = child porn bullshit before someone would point is out that as a counterpoint. Goverments can make bullshit laws, my country's goverment also tends to do stupid shit.
Response to previous problem and ask. Link to the ask mention in this response:

I was thinking about Chloe in s6 and I was wondering like, where would she live and similar things. Does Audrey come back to Paris? Are they gonna get their own house/apartment/etc? Would people's reactions be anger or something similar when they see Chloe? Would she need to pull a Lila and disguise herself? Would she be the joke vilalin? Would she be the Kite Man or Condiment King to Lila's Joker? Cause everyone seems to want to condemn her despite the fact that she was akumatized during all that, in a way they don't condemn other akumatized people and it's like? Alright if you're gonna do some writing bias let's see what you do afterwards since you're so insistent on bringing her back. I can believe what happened to Chloe in s5 is just gonna be ignored cause they want to have someone do more stupid civilian side bullying despite the fact that they can make new characters for it? If you hate her so much just don't bring her back?
I think the problem with Chloé is a continuation of what's been happening since Season3 ended: There's no room for her in the narrative.
Zoé was brought in to be the Bee Hero with a bunch of resouces via her money and a wealthy dad wrapped around her finger.
Lila is still going to be the classmate causing problems, though now with a new identity or two. While /also/ becoming the Main Villain so she's hogging both A and B plots
Even if they wanted to shift it so that Lila is just the Hero Plot Villain leaving room for a Civilian Antagonist like Chloé was in the first place.....
Chloé has no power. Marinette doesn't give a shit about what she does. Her dad threw her to the curb so she can't rely on him saying yes to her actions. Audrey thinks she sucks so wouldn't help her like Andre did. And they made her too stupid to think of any plan on her own merit anymore without someone holding her hand.
So there's just. No point in her existing at this point

For the warehouse AU, please tell us about Scepter 4 as the managers! How they interact with the homra boys, how they interact and what kind of relationships they have with the reader, all and any headcanons you have for this would be great! Is there any manager/homra worker boy duos that really canât ever get along and cause ruckuses at work? Do any of the boys ever go to HR about the managers or vice versa?
Let me just tell you that theyâre 100% done with everything.
like I mentioned on the post, munakata is the senior station manager aka the big boss. he spends most of this days in meetings, but when he does have some free time, he comes down to bother check in with his team. seri is the operations manager who runs the entire shift, while fushimi, the alphabet squad, and y/n are the area managers who report to her. Fushimi, akiyama, benzai, kamo, and fuse are the more strict managers, whereas doumyouji, goto, and hidaka are the more laidback managers (doesnât stop doumyouji and hidaka from arguing with some of the homra guys though). Enomoto is the most timid, having a tough time to confront the homra guys on his own. Doumyouji has been in trouble a couple of times for showing favoritism toward some associates while hidaka had a stern coaching bc he was caught flirting with some of the female associates.
The s4 abc squad is already overworked and underpaid, having to deal with the homra boys just makes the job even more dreadful. everyday, these delinquents come in late, walking as they own the place. it takes a 15 minute back and forth conversation just to tell these guys to do their jobs aka what theyâre being paid to do. they sometimes come in smelling like some questionable substances but theyre able to get away with it since theyâre not acting any different from usual, and are not considered as a risk to themselves or the operations. Its pretty obvious that fushimi and yata are that one duo that should be kept separate at all times. despite the loud music blaring in the background, the entire warehouse can hear yata yelling and cursing as fushimi taunts and provokes him. after these two, i think doumyouji and bandou would clash the most. theyre both the designated jackass of their respective group, theyre super opinionated, and theyâre both easy to anger. i think their similarities is what make them clash the most. there was one time where doumyouji was successfully able to write bandou up, without landing in trouble himself! he was all cocky and in high spirits until the next day he comes across his face plastered in âwantedâ posters for being the most disrespectful and authoritative manager in the warehouse (yes, bandou was petty enough to take the time out of his day and make posters on photoshop). *and yes, this happened in real life*
as for the s4 team with y/n. munakata has the least interaction with her since heâs a busy station manager, except for their introductory 1:1 during her first day. but despite their lack of interaction, munakata knows everything that is going on thanks to the human resouces team, aka the silver clan. seri was ready to coach and mentor her, genuinely happy to have another woman on the team after yoshino resigned. but she was disappointed to find out that unlike yoshino, y/n did not have the same drive and passion for the job, and certainly did not mind hanging around those homra boys. y/n is the most distant from fushimi and fuse, since both are pretty cold and not interested in being friendly with her. they both arent shy about making it known that they think sheâs an idiot, especially after they get a whiff of her dating one of the homra guys). while theyre not exactly cold, akiyama, benzai, and kamo are also not very close with y/n. at most, theyre polite and cordial (and theyre not impressed with her work ethic). Goto is just there and tries to make some convo with y/n which ends up failing bc he ends up creeping her out. Hidaka and y/n get along pretty well and he did flirt with her pretty hard at first, but y/n learns about how perverted he can be when it comes to women with big boobs, and soon keeps some distance from him. Enomoto is truly the only one that y/n feels comfortable with, which explains why they were able to get so close during their onboarding. Enomoto is a little smarter than he looks, purposely concealing his love for h*ntai and p*rn so that y/n doesnât get creeped out. He picks up a good chunk of y/nâs workload so that she can go home early, just so he can earn more of her trust. he may or may not have known about y/nâs budding relationship with the homra guy, but was he going to snitch? hell no! even though it sucks heâs not the one y/n is dating, at least he can still be her friend. look, he never really spoke to a pretty girl before, let alone become friends with one. so donât blame him for not wanting to lose out on this rare opportunity, ok?
and yes i just had to put the silver clan as the hr team lmaoo. idk why but it feels fitting. but lets be real, both the s4 managers and the hmr associates think the silver clan suck at their job as hr. while they do think kuroh is the more competent one, shiro ends making most of the calls since heâs the head hr, and shiro is not the best decision maker out there. most of shiroâs decisions end with hmr getting away with disrespecting the managers and not following their job, which got him to lose respect from the s4 team. shiro later finds himself to be on hmrâs shitlist when he finally does his job and writes them all up for cursing at a manager, not falling for their excuses this time. everyone wonders how neko is part of the hr team, cause she barely does her job. all she does is eat, sleep on the desk, and run around the warehouse. neko is more of the engagement coordinator, but kuroh ends up picking up a lot of her slack, especially when she fails to schedule a meal event which ended up with a lot of angry and hungry warehouse associates

Glossary for Medical Terms
Master Post
This is a Glossary for my main post. This is meant to help explain terms I might use there.
Anemia: A condition where the human body does not produce enough RBCs. (ie. Your body has room for 10 RBC but only makes 5)
Erythrocyte: Red Blood Cell; uses hemoglobin to move gases through the body
Hemoglobin: The part of red blood cells that carries oxygen and carbon dioxide
Hemorrhage: A fancy word for bleeding
Hypovolemia: literally "Low Volume" This usually means the person does not have enough Whole Blood in their body. Otherwise known as "Bleeding Out"
Leukocyte: White Blood Cell; fights infections in the body
Medical Directors: Doctors that decide what medications and procedures medical and first responders can provide.Â
Mechanism of Injury: An action that could lead to a person being hurt. This can include "Stabbing", "Motor Vehicle Collision", "Assault", and anything else that can result in an injury. Just because a mechanism happens, does not mean there is an injury.
Plasma: The liquid part of blood used to transport blood cells, waste, anti-bodies, hormones, Platelets, and proteins through the body
Policy/Procedure/Protocol: The big 3 P's that keep people in medical and first response from getting in trouble. They are written documents by Corporate officers, supervisors, and medical directors to keep everything operating safely
Thrombocytes: Platelets; parts of cells within the blood that cause clotting
Sickle Cell Anemia: A condition where the body produces incorrectly shaped RBCs. These cells are unable to perform their jobs but still follow the life cycle of RBC. This is a genetic condition. (ie. Your body has room for 10 RBC but 5 aren't shaped correctly. You still have 10, but only 5 work.)
Signs/Symptoms: There is a difference, but the general rule is "what is this person showing/telling me is wrong". A "sign" is what can be observed (like bleeding wounds or Sam being unsteady on his feet). A "symptom" is what Sam says is wrong ("I feel dizzy" or "I'm in pain").
Shunting: The process by which blood is re-routed to main/vital organs instead of extremities/limbs to conserve temperature and oxygen. Occurs most notably during hypothermia and hypovolemia.
Syncope: Fainting or temporary loss of consciousness
Whole Blood: Every part of the blood; About 55% plasma + 44% RBC + 1% WBCÂ

f a t a l f a n t a s i e s â ăan indie roleplay blogă penned by raven (twenty-nine, est, she/her) that is selective multi-muse/multi-verse with mature themes. writing on tumblr.
guidelines. muses. open starters. wanted plots & opposites.
*â feel free to follow and interact with active open starters or message to plot! overview of guidelines under the cut.
general overview of guidelines when interacting with this blog. anyone can interact with any open starters and plotting, but it is selective only to disclose that i reserve the right to not interact as well.
minors dni. please be 21+ years of age when interacting with this blog for writing and roleplaying purposes. muses should also be 21+. i will not be writing with characters who are minors/children.
multi threads / multi au: feel free to interact with multiple starters! any open starters that are retired will be marked as such, so if something is still marked as open, feel free!
starters: please do not write me starters without messaging me about it first!
muses: i prefer to play female muses but am also really big on balance, meaning if you reply to one of my female muses then i'll probably want to play a male against you as well if you're willing. m/f interactions are probably my favorite but i do love m/m ships, as well as platonic interactions, but struggle with f/f. family plots are also welcomed (not incest/stepcest)
formatting: i prefer to use small text and regular sized gifs. i like having visual for myself and my muses so even if you don't use gifs my replies will still have one. i donât mind and will gladly cut posts when needed such as when tumblr is being glitchy, temporarily mobile bound muns, etc. due to read mores sometimes glitching replies, i do not use read mores for smut and tag under âspicy cwâ or âspicy content twâ as needed.
fc guidelines: i prefer to not interact with anime fcs, drawings for face claims, etc. i do not have any banned face claims aside from those convicted of crimes and general creeps. i also prefer no singers with no acting resouces/influencers/tiktok stars/reality tv stars. iâm not typically interested in danielle rose russell, cierra ramirez & main legacies/tvd/originals cast, main riverdale males (camila mendes, madelaine petsch & vanessa morgan are always welcomed, along with drew ray tanner), hailee steinfeld. if you have one of these fcs that is perfect for a plot, please feel free to reach out! i also typically don't like playing fcs from well known tv shows/movies who play siblings romantically against each other ! (i.e. drew starkey & madelyn cline, rudy pankow & tom holland, etc.) but feel free to ask regarding exceptions and uncertainty !
plot restrictions: i will not write any threads pertaining to sexual assault, rape, incest, or anything non-consensual. if these are in character backstories, thatâs fine, but i will not write anything present like that. under no circumstances will i write with a muse who had willingly engaged in pedophilia, incest, step-cest, etc. please no godmodding unless itâs been discussed explicitly between us to move a thread along (ex. changing location, inserting headcanons, etc.).
triggers: i do not have any triggers and will try to tag intense triggers as needed.
length: never feel the need to match length. sometimes i can get really into my muses' head and write a lot and sometimes it's the complete opposite so do whatever you feel with the vibe !
replies: please keep in mind i have a full time job and real life relationships that take up a lot of my energy during the week. my activity will fluctuate, some days or weeks i won't have the energy to write and other times the muse will just keep rolling! if a sporadic writing partner stresses you out, i may not be the best choice.Â
muninteractions with this blog: please do not serial like my posts to get my attention or like all of my starters. if you need to block me for any reason i just ask you to not soft block me and instead hard block me, just purely for the reason of me not paying enough attention and i will possibly attempt to follow again without realizing. i am always open to plotting in the dms but i tend to reply to dms very slowly.
thanks you and canât wait to write together !

This is a good time to remind everyone that in order for a series to be finished, it has to sell. If you don't buy the books in the series you want to read/pirate them instead, the chances of you never getting the next book from the author, or the series being finished, grows, and it's not small growth. The number of Stephen Kings who can afford to not have you buy their book because you'd rather pirate/wait for a series to be finished is minimal. Most authors need you to buy their books so that they can give you more, and not just because they need to earn a living (they do).
To put it simply, publishers buy books with advances, and the publisher cares only about your book selling enough to earn out that advance. They may give you the next book in a series before it does, but now you have two books that have to earn back their advance. And if they don't? Well, they're not profitable. Why would a company keep buying something that will only lose them money?
See, most of the time the problem isn't authors going 'well no one is reading this, so I might as well not write it', it's publishers going 'well no one's buying this, so it's a waste of our money and resouces, so we're not publishing more of this'. You need to understand this if you want to keep reading books.
If you want a series to continue or an author to write more, you cannot pirate books, and you cannot wait for a series to be finished to buy the first book. And if you do, you're not allowed to complain about series being cancelled or how there are no new interesting books coming out, because you are part of the problem.
just saw someone reviewing the erin hunter books like, âthey should publish the whole series at once, i donât want to wait a whole year to read itâ. like babe i hate to break it to you but,,,, go touch some grass and think about your relationship with consumerism okay, because itâs gotten really weird on you
#yes I'm very passionate about this#I also know that the average reader doesn't know how the industry works#and that's by design btw#but yeah#buy the first book in the series#it's not like you have to read it immediately#it can just sit on your shelf until you've bought the entire series#writing#books
