NEW MUSE ALERT!!!!
Tumblr media
Yes! I am bringing my Yelena Belova muse onto this blog as a crossover! She is currently compliant with the events of Season 4. Please check out her bio beneath the cut or check it out on my Carrd.
Let me know if you want to interact with her! I’ll send memes or feel free to send memes to me for her. <3
Yelena Yurievna Belova was born in Stalingrad, Russia in 1965 to two unnamed parents who died shortly after her birth. She was placed in the care of the state and lived the first five years of her life in a children's home. It was during that time that Yelena's psionic abilities came to fruition, which frightened not only her guardians, but the other children she lived with. Shortly after the manifestation of her powers, KGB soldiers arrived at the children's home and whisked Yelena away to frozen tundra of Siberia where she was placed in a secret ops known to her as the Black Widow program. Yelena was trained in espionage, armed and unarmed combat, martial arts, and languages. She was also trained by a sister program within the KGB in how to control and use her psionic powers, though it was not without consequences. Yelena often suffered from debilitating migraine headaches and temporary blindness when she exerted her powers too far. This still happens today when she overdoes it.
When Yelena was ten years old, a new power manifested: she could travel between dimensions. It came unexpectedly and the first time she traveled to another dimension she was gone for months. She was able to find her way back and learned that it only been several hours for her. Yelena described a barren landscape with monstrous creatures that all seemed to work in tandem. Yelena continued her Widow training, but she was also now part of an even more deeply secret organization that obsessively attempted to understand the dimension Yelena had traveled to.
At seventeen, Yelena was sent to a Siberian prison in the frozen tundra where a gate had been accidentally opened and monstrous creatures came through. She became a spy for the KGB, traveling the landscape of the hellish dimension with four other special people. Only Yelena and one other made it back from this mission but the information they had gleaned was valuable. A gate had been opened in a lab in Hawkins, Indiana under the watchful eye of a man named Dr. Brenner. They learned that Dr. Brenner was also experimenting with special children and only one girl was left standing.
For a year, Yelena watched the girl in her mindscape, forming a strange one-sided connection with the girl known as Eleven. The girl who had fought against a man named Henry Creel, ultimately trapping him in what they called the Upside Down, where he was now the master. Yelena's new mission was to move to Hawkins and befriend the girl with the intention of bringing her to Siberia for the KGB to use her to invade the U.S.
Yelena was given a new identity and fake documents. She would be traveling with two handlers who would act as her parents, a man and a woman with aliases of Richard and Margaret Thompson. Yelena's new name was Anna Elaine Thompson. Anna was born in a small town in Michigan and moved to Hawkins to work at Hawkins lab before it was later destroyed.
Though she was actually 18, the mission wanted her in Hawkins High School where she could infiltrate the group of friends Eleven had formed since her escape from Hawkins Lab. Her fake birth certificate made her two years younger and she enrolled at Hawkins High as a sophomore. Yelena was successful in becoming friendly with the main players though the closer she grew to Eleven the more her heart began to change. After all, they were two sides of the same coin. Orphans who were being used by men more powerful than them in ways that counted.
When Eleven moved to California with the Byers, Yelena assumed her mission would change and she would also move to keep an eye on her target. She wasn't. Her superiors wanted her near the gate and she was told to use her telepathic abilities to keep her eyes on Eleven. The KGB were confident Eleven would return to Hawkins.
They were right, though Yelena grew weary of the role she was playing. She had formed friendships, connections she'd never had before. Yelena realized there was so much more to life than she ever realized and she was keen to break free of her proverbial chains.
Her 'father' was killed during the fall of Hawkins Lab, and her 'mother' was recalled to Russia. Yelena was supposed to go with her but she didn't. She wanted to stay in Hawkins and that's what she did.
Yelena helped in the fight against Vecna but she knew it wasn't over. Not by a long shot. She also knew the KGB would come for her one day. But for now they have more pressing matters than a now 22 year old rogue agent.
ABILITIES:
Espionage Combat (armed and unarmed) Martial Arts Master marksman Multilingualism (Russian, English, Hungarian and Spanish) The ability to mimic accents which allow her to blend in seamlessly with her peers while on mission. Telepathy Telekinesis Interdimensional travel.
WEAKNESSES: Migraine headaches and temporary blindness when she exerts herself beyond her limits. Overall compassion and desire to be a normal person. Doubt over her superiors orders

Loose Ends
With her target dead, all Yelena needs to do is clean up a loose end. You. Except she can't pull the trigger. But she can't let you go. That leaves only one option.

Author's Note: This started out as a writing exercise and it turned into this. It was too much fun to not share. I can see this being a short series. Let me know what you guys think. Do you want more Yelena?
Chapter One: The Brat Tamer
You put up a good fight. The two goons that obey Watson’s every command drag you down the hallway. With every breath you take, you try to get away. You try to pull yourself from their grasp. You try digging your feet into the hardwood floors. You try everything you can think of to either wear them down or slip free. But all your efforts do nothing as they reach the door to Watson’s study. The door opens, and you are pushed into the room.
You stumble into Watson’s study, and you just barely manage to stop yourself from falling face first onto the floor. You hear the door shut behind you. You want to turn around and yank the door back open. You want to run out of Watson’s study and just keep running until all of this is far behind you. But you already tried that. Multiple times. It never works. You run and run and run…and you end up back here.
“Ah, Y/N,” Watson’s familiar voice claims your attention. He is sitting behind his large mahogany desk in his favorite dark brown armchair. He is dressed in his usual navy blue business suit with a tumbler glass of whiskey in his hand. “You made it.” The smile that cuts across his face is cold and hollow. “I want you to meet someone.” He gestures with his hand to the woman sitting across from him.
The first thing you notice is her hair. Her long blonde hair is held away from her face in a large intricate braid. Only a couple blonde strands fall free to frame her face as she turns in her seat to look at you. She wears a long green trench coat that is held closed by the wrap that is knotted across her stomach. Black fingerless gloves cover her hands while black tactical looking boots cover her feet. But it’s her eyes that steal your attention completely. The woman’s hazel eyes are playful, but there is something else that lurks behind it. You feel as though you are standing before a predator. But not the kind like Watson. Not vile and disgusting. She’s different.
“This is Yelena,” Watson says.
She offers you a smile and tilts her head slightly as her eyes drink in the sight of you.
“She is here at my request,” Watson continues.
You can feel her stare as if they were her fingers raking over your skin. Just minutes ago, you hadn’t cared how you looked. You were content to look as messy and unpresentable to Watson as possible. You hated his touch, and you did whatever you could to keep him away from you. It wasn’t a foolproof plan. When he wanted you he would have his way with you. But his displeasure was always palpable, and you found solace in that.
But now you feel like a dirty, mangy animal under her stare. You are suddenly self conscious of all your flaws. Your grass stained sweats and your worn band t-shirt feel wrong to wear. You nervously pick at the hem of your shirt.
“Y/N!” Watson’s raises his voice and your attention is dragged away from Yelena. You can still feel her looking at you. Watson’s hollow smile is gone. “Say hello.”
Your attention quickly returns to Yelena. Her hazel eyes meet yours. “Hi.” You feel proud that your voice doesn’t betray how you really feel. Your voice comes out calm and even slightly disinterested.
Watson shakes his head and looks across his desk to Yelena. “As I explained, she is challenging.”
“It is nothing I can’t handle,” Yelena says. The woman’s Russian accent laces through her words as she keeps her focus on you despite responding to Watson.
“Threesome’s aren’t really my thing,” you say to Watson. You watch as he takes a long sip of his drink. Your words are meaningless to him. He has already done so much to you that you hated. He’s already heard you begging him to stop. He never does.
He sets his drink down on his desk. “Even if it was, you do not deserve any pleasure. I spent three days chasing you down after your latest stunt. Do you know how much money I spent to make sure you got back here safely?”
You shrug. “I don’t know. A thousand dollars? Whatever it was, it sounds like a big waste of money to me.”
“You should be grateful,” he says.
“I will be dead before that ever happens,” you reply. “Can I go now?”
“No.”
It is Yelena that answers you. Your gaze shifts to the woman, and you notice that her smile is gone.
“Yelena is here to correct your behavior,” Watson explains.
You are still processing Watson’s words when Yelena stands up and moves towards you. You instinctively step back, but Yelena closes the space between the two of you. You can smell the jasmine and cedarwood scent of her perfume as she moves in a slow circle around you. You hear her come to a stop behind you. You are tempted to turn your head to look at her, but Watson’s movement steals your attention.
He rises from his chair and collects his glass of whiskey. “She has my permission to do whatever her work requires.” He moves away from his desk and closer to you. “And if you drive her away–”
“She won’t,” Yelena cuts in before Watson can finish his threat. You feel her finger slowly glide across your back between your two shoulder blades. You shift your weight from one foot to the other. The smell of her perfume is beginning to be all you smell, and you don’t want that to stop. “I am very good at taming brats.”
Watson’s smile makes you want to turn and run, but Yelena’s hand grabs the back of your collar. You stumble for a moment as the action jerks you back half a step. You can feel the softness of her coat brush against your back as something cuts apart the collar. Before you can think to ask, the dark blue, rough, scratchy collar is removed. The brush of cool air against the newly exposed skin around your neck feels strange.
Yelena holds the collar out towards Watson. The collar’s fabric has been cut through and looks pathetic and sad in Watson’s hand. “Take that. She must earn it back.” You aren’t eager to earn it back, but a warmth pools in your gut. Watson walks by you, and you listen to the sound of his retreating footsteps. You can still feel Yelena at your back as you hear the door to Watson’s study open and then close.
“Your Master has told me so much about you,” she says once you two are finally alone. You feel her press her finger into the nape of your neck. “He told me how he acquired you.” Her finger slowly traces down the back of your neck. The feeling of her skin pressed against yours is like lightning, and the warmth taking root within you becomes more pronounced. “It is obviously the root of your misbehavior. We will address it. I will make you his obedient slut.”
“I’m not his–”
You are about to turn around to face her, but her finger disappears from the back of your neck. Her fingers curl into your hair, and she grabs a fistful of it. Without warning, she pulls you back until your entire back is pressed against her front. Her lips come to rest next to your ear.
“You will not speak unless I give you permission. Do you understand?”
Your hands come up in a pathetic attempt to free yourself from her hold. Yelena’s free hand effortlessly smacks your hands away and gives another swift yank on your hair. Your eyes squeeze shut against the pain, and you think you can hear her smiling as her breath tickles your ear.
“Yes,” you finally say.
She doesn’t let go. “You will address me as Domina.”
“Yes, Domina,” you quickly reply.
She lets go of your hair, and you take a breath at the receding pain. Domina. You’ve never had a Domina before. Always a Master. There’s a ring to the title that you like. You like the way it feels in your mouth when you say it. Unlike Watson’s title. You want to gag every time he forces the title out of you.
“Your Master gives you too many privileges,” Yelena says as she takes a small step away from you. The feeling of her body against yours disappears, and you don’t like that at all. You miss it. And you hate how she keeps dragging your Master back to the forefront of your mind. You don’t want to think about him. You just want to think about her. You don’t know what she’s going to do to you, and it sends a thrill through you.
“He lets you speak when you have not earned it,” she continues. “He lets you hit him when you do not listen. I am revoking these privileges. Put your hands behind your back.”
You bring your hands back, and you feel her hand grab hold of yours. She secures a pair of handcuffs around your wrists. Once the cuffs are locked, she lets go and you hear her take a step back. The same feeling from before returns. You want her to keep touching you. You don’t want her to stop.
“Kneel,” she orders.
“Does this have to happen here?” you ask. You hear her moving slightly behind you and you start to turn your head to look at her. “There are at least six bedrooms we could–”
You don’t see her pull out the baton. In fact, you aren’t even aware of its existence within this room until she hits it against the back of your knees. A sharp cry is ripped from your lips as you fall immediately to your knees. The pain stings as she slowly walks around and stands in front of you. You stare at her black tactical boots until the tip of her black baton comes to rest beneath your chin. She tilts your head up.
“Your antics will not work on me,” she says. “All they will do is earn you more punishments.” She removes her baton from beneath your chin. “Open your mouth.”
You keep your lips shut and look away from her. A moment later her hand grabs your face and forces you to look up at her again.
“You will not win this, Y/N.” Yelena’s fingers press into your cheeks and squeeze. You try to keep your mouth shut for as long as possible, but she soon manages to pry your mouth open. She brings her baton back up, but instead of bringing it down against you again, she positions it horizontally and shoves it into your open mouth. The grip she has on your mouth loosens as your mouth slowly closes over the baton. Your teeth bite down against the weapon. “Do not drop this.”
Yelena lets go of her baton before kneeling down on one knee in front of you. She lifts up the hem of your t-shirt until the waistline of your sweats is exposed. “You should be wet by now.”
You are not prepared for those words, and you are even less prepared when Yelena slips her hand between the fabric of your sweats and your skin. Her hand expertly slips underneath your soaked panties. The moment you feel her fingers brush against your wet sex, you let out a small moan. Your bite on her baton starts to loosen as every thought in your head diverts to her fingers.
“You are losing focus,” she says as her fingers gather up some of your slick. “Your punishment will be worse if you drop my baton.”
Your teeth dig back into the baton, and you are glad you did because you know for sure that you would have dropped the weapon when her fingers finally plunge into you. She gives you no time to properly react as her fingers begin thrusting in and out of you at a pace that pulls louder moans from you. She watches you as her fingers brush across your sweet spot. Her head tilts slightly to the side as her fingers continue to work you up. Her fingers are deft and merciless as you feel yourself steadily reaching that sweet, blissful edge.
You’re getting so close, and you try to speak around the baton in your mouth but all that comes out are unintelligent noises. But right as you are about to spill over, her fingers disappear. Yelena pulls her hand out from your sweats. More unintelligent noises escape from your mouth as you voice your frustration. You are so close. Why did she stop?
She ignores all your noises and gets up. Your head tilts back to look at her while her hand dips into the pocket of her green coat. “That is all you will get until you learn to behave.” Her other hand reaches out, and her fingers settle underneath your chin while her thumb softly strokes the side of your cheek. “But we will work on that, malýshka.”
You feel something pinch the side of your neck. You don’t understand what is happening as you feel your body grow heavy. Yelena continues to watch you as your head suddenly feels very heavy and rolls forward. Your eyes shut, and you hear the baton hit the floor. Then nothing.
When you wake, you are no longer in the study. You are laying on a couch in the living room. It’s quiet, and you don’t understand how you got here. You feel something draped over you. You turn your head to look, and you end up more confused. Draped across your body is Yelena’s green coat. What happened? One minute you were on the cusp of coming completely undone into the hands of this woman, and now you’re here.
You sit up and part of Yelena’s coat falls away to reveal your hands bound in cuffs in front of you. Your clothes are still on, and you don’t see anyone around. In fact, you don’t hear the usual chatter of lounging goons. Everything is so quiet. What’s going on? You lift Yelena’s coat off of you and stand. The living room is empty, and the large flatscreen hanging on the wall is off. You are about to call out to anybody when you see it.
Or rather, when you see him.
Laying on his back on the other side of the couch is Watson. He is dressed in the same navy business suit you saw him in earlier. So you couldn’t have been out for long. He is staring up at the ceiling with his eyes wide and his mouth open as if he is yelling. In the middle of his forehead, right above his eyebrows, is a red hole. Dark red blood pools on the wooden floor beneath his head.
You are still putting together exactly what you are seeing when you hear fast, heavy footsteps rushing down the hallway. One of Watson’s goons emerges from the hallway. Usually, Watson’s goons can’t help themselves. They love touching you. They love any excuse to drag you to your Master. But this time, the goon doesn’t even spare you a look. He keeps running across the living room towards the foyer.
Three gunshots make you jump and cry out as the goon stumbles. Fresh blood stains the backside of his shirt as he falls. You hear him struggling to push himself back onto his feet when someone else emerges from the hallway.
Yelena. With her coat gone you see that she is dressed in a black tactical suit. Some blood has dried along the side of her face, but you don’t see any marks on her. In her hand is a gun, and she raises it towards the struggling goon. She pulls the trigger and another gunshot rips through the air. You take several steps back away from the couch as the goon goes still.
“Oh my god,” you say, unable to stop yourself. You know you shouldn’t have drawn attention to yourself but what the fuck did you just watch? “You killed him. You just…” You look away from the goon’s body and you find Yelena looking at you. “...killed him.” You know that you’re repeating yourself, but it’s the only thing you can think to say.
“Yes,” Yelena replies with a small nod. “That is what I am paid to do.”
Paid? Your mouth opens and then closes as a million questions crash together in your head.
Yelena moves towards the couch and reaches down to grab her coat. “Come. We cannot play twenty questions here. I have set the explosives to go off in five minutes.”
You quickly take another step back. “I’m not going anywhere with you.” Then, a moment later when what she also said finally hits you. “Wait, explosives?”
She puts her coat back on and moves towards you. “I think I drugged you too much. You are acting very slow.” You feel the warm barrel of her gun press against your side when she reaches you. “You do not get to choose. You are my prisoner.” The barrel of her gun digs into your side when you don’t move. “Do you want to walk or do you want me to shoot?”
You still have so many questions, but the look Yelena gives you keeps you quiet. As much as you want to understand what the hell is going on, you also want to get as far away from all this as possible. But the gun makes both those things impossible. So, without any other choice available, you start to move towards the foyer. You see Yelena smile as she moves to walk behind you. She drags the barrel of her gun to press against your lower back.
“Good girl, malýshka,” she says.
Her praise sends a shiver down your spine as you leave.

First aid | Yelena Belova x Reader

Word count: 289
A/n: Thank you @umacatita for sending in this prompt!

Yelena had a dangerous job, you knew that. Somehow she rarely got hurt, at first you thought she must just be really good or something. But little by little you started to notice that she probably got hurt more often than she led you to believe.
It started with a bruise you saw on her lower back when she reached to grab something on the tallest shelve in your kitchen. To her flinching when you hugged her, passing it off as shock at the action.
You decided not to ask any questions, because surely she would tell you if she was actually hurt, right? But apparently you were wrong.
When Yelena came home with blood all over her clothes, claiming she was fine since it wasn’t hers, you couldn’t keep pretending anymore. “Don’t tell me you’re fine, I can see the blood.” You say on the verge of tears, “it’s clearly from a wound you have on your stomach.”
Yelena gives in when she seems the worry on your face, “okay, you’re right. It is my blood, but I will fix it up in a minute.” She says trying to reassure you. “Lena, you don’t have to pretend you’re fine all the time, I can be there for you when you’re not. I didn’t take those first aid classes for nothing.”
Yelena looks at you for a moment, “You took first aid classes?” You nod, “Yes, from the moment you told me about your job. I wanted to make sure I could help you whenever you needed it.”
She moves closer to you, “that’s the sweetest thing someone has ever done for me, детка.” She says before leaning in to kiss you. “Let’s get you cleaned up first, love.”

"Y/N!"
You smile when you hear Yelena's voice echo out through your apartment, the soft closing of your front door and the jingling of keys alongside the rustling of a plastic bag.
As you pop out the film cartridge from your camera, you shout out where you are for her. Soft footsteps slowly come around the corner, your eyes closed as you cut the film away from its cartridge to start spooling it.
"Do I even want to know what's going on in that bag?"
Chuckling, you peek out through one eye as you start to crank the spool and feel the film coil around it. Looking down, you admit it does look a little odd. Sitting here with your arms slid into a thick, dark bag doing weird movements inside of it.
Yelena starts to set up the takeout food, a small smirk on her face as she watches the concentration on your face. Biting on your lip as you snap the lid onto the canister that holds your spooled film, you let out an accomplished noise and slide your arms out of the holes.
"Oh come on, don't tell me you went straight to DSLR cameras and didn't stop to appreciate the classics." Your words drip with sarcasm, knowing that’s exactly how she got into the photography world. All of those fancy cameras she has with the huge lenses and the capability of snapping hundreds of photos in one burst. She mentioned that the lenses were for birdwatching when you asked in giddiness at holding them in your hands.
Unzipping the bag, you place your now empty winder camera onto the table. Yelena leans forward across the table, taking the contraption in her hands and playing with the film lever. Her brows raise nearly imperceptibly as you feel the corners of your lips rise slightly. Her tell-tale sign that she's about to talk out of her ass.
Blowing air out of her lips, Yelena gently places your camera down, "Of course I did. You know... kept film in the fridge. Definitely have my own darkroom at my apartment."
You raise your brows, "As many times as I've been to your humble abode, I have yet to see that."
Yelena bites into an egg roll, "That's a six month venture." Leaning closer to you, she winks, "It's where I develop pictures from my erotic parties."
Pushing her away with a laugh, you gather up your stuff to make room for dinner, "Well, lucky me, then. I believe our six months is in..."
Leaning as far back as you dramatically can to try and read the calendar with squinting eyes while you open the fridge. With an exclaim, Yelena throws a chopstick at you. Grinning back at her, you see the frown she tries to plaster on her face. The over-exaggerated downward turn of her lips as she pokes the tip of her last remaining chopstick into her orange chicken.
"My own partner doesn't even know when our six months is," she pouts, her amber eyes glancing up at you expectantly.
Sitting down with a groan, you pop open a bottle of Yelena's beer and put it down next to her hand, "Wait, when's your birthday?"
Her eyes couldn't roll back further in her head even if she tried. Snatching the beer from the table, she slides your takeout container towards you with a careful push.
"Eat your stupid food," she mutters, a sprinkle of her accent filling into her words, "ты болван."
Shoveling the noodles in your mouth with a chuckle, you stop to point your chopsticks towards her, "Ah, but I'm your blockhead."
Yelena shakes her head but you can see the smile on her face, finally glancing up from the fried rice bowl. She bites her lip gently, tapping the tip of her beer against her nose. Just the sight of her makes you nearly burst from the warmth inside of your chest.
How her blond baby hairs wave free of her tightly pinned ponytail. The way her amber eyes always seem to take in all of you, memorizing you in every light and room. They were the eyes of someone who had practice in finding the perfect shot.
It was the same way you looked at her, finding the perfect frame, the perfect setup to capture her essence, the quiet strength she walks with everywhere. You couldn't even begin to count how many times you wished you had a camera to capture those moments forever.
To capture her in the dull moments when she curled up on the couch, an oversized hoodie and a huge, piping hot mug of tea as she laughed at cartoons. The scary moments when she woke up, tangled in bedsheets with a clenched jaw and silent tears streaming down her face - you didn't want to capture those moments, but how calm she looked as she fell back asleep in your arms.
Even in the moments that made your blood boil. Because even though your voices were raised and cabinet doors were slammed, you could see the love in her eyes. It was always then, when you both saw it, that you were brought back down to the world.
Despite all this time together, you weren't exactly sure what she did for a living. When you asked once, her brows moved that half a millimeter up as she said, 'If I told you, I'd have to kill you.' You rolled your eyes and you knew she was just embarrassed to say she's just a desk jockey.
The same way you're embarrassed to tell her that this photography hobby is more than a hobby. You never seemed to have any luck in keeping a relationship going when they found out that you were putting all of your eggs into the photography basket. They would laugh and tell you that you should play it safe and do something that would actually pay.
The longer you held onto the secret, the likelier they were to laugh and then leave when they realized you wouldn't listen. Despite how comfortable you felt with Yelena and how engaged she was in talking about shooting, that fear continued to gnaw at you. Now as the sixth month mark was looming only a few days away, you had to get yourself to say something. At least to end it before it became too serious.
"Speaking of half a year putting up with you," Yelena raises her brows as she watches you give a thin-lipped grin with a shake of your head, "I have something planned."
You nod, "Funny you should say that. I have something planned, too."
Yelena sips on her beer carefully as you continue, "Perhaps, in a wide open field. No one else around."
"Wait," she rests her hand on your knee, eyes crinkling with a wide smile, "I was thinking a wide open field, too!"
You roll your eyes as you lean back into the chair, "Can I not have one original idea with you? You better not be using your embassy privileges or whatever to make it a field in another country."
She shrugs playfully, "We'll just find out, won't we?"
As she goes back to chewing on her food, you can't help but stare at her flipping through one of your photography magazines. Distracted, you try to scoop up your food with the chopsticks as a wide smile fills your face. Yelena glances up at you, a curious look in her eyes but a smile covering her face when she sees how you look at her.
You decide at that moment. Sixth months would give you your perfect shot.

With a tight coil in your stomach, you slowly pull off of the bumping dirt road and roll your car into the empty parking lot near a wide open field. The river gives a calming noise through your open window as you wipe your sweaty hands on your pants. Clearing your throat, you can see Yelena sitting in the backseat of her car, twirling the rings on her fingers in her own world. Her legs hang out of the car, kicking up dirt and rocks as she waits for you.
Turning the key out of the ignition as you take in a deep breath, you grab your camera bag and plop a tripod onto your shoulder. Walking over, your crunching feet bring Yelena back to the world around you and you watch her slowly pick up her head, a smile on her face when she sees you. Her fingers continue to twirl her rings, taking in a nervous deep breath as you do, too. Glancing back quickly, Yelena stands up with her arms blocking any view into her car, trying and failing to act casual.
Stomping the tripod into the dirt as you lean your chin on it, you raise your brows at her, “What’re you hiding, Yel? Do you have supplies for your sexy party back there?”
Yelena rolls her eyes, glancing quickly down to your camera bag, “Ha. Ha. No, I just knew you wanted to come here to shoot and well…” She quickly clears her throat, stepping in front of your peeking eyes, “I brought something to shoot with, too.”
Your eyes widen with excitement as you try to step around Yelena, her arms still blocking the inside of her car. You chuckle at how nervous she is, wondering why she’s so nervous. You’ve seen her cameras, talking about tips for sunset pictures and how to get that perfect shot of a moving animal.
“Is it the new EOS R5? Oh man,” you start to say excitedly, but slowly drop the excitement from your face when you realize Yelena isn’t looking at you anymore.
Yelena sighs as she rubs her face, “блядь. Don’t be mad?”
There’s a pit in your stomach as you step back onto your back leg, your jaw clenching tightly.
“Why would I be mad?” you question as you try to keep your voice from shaking.
Yelena knocks her knuckles against the car door as she steps over to the side, her amber eyes locked on yours as you peel your eyes away from her. As you do, you nearly choke as you see what she was hiding. She clears her throat and gives a small chuckle as she sees the way you try to understand what’s laying on the backseat.
“It’s not that camera you said, but it has numbers in its name, too.”
A large black rifle sits on top of its case in the backseat. A brown bag next to it is filled with boxes of large bullets casings, your eyes scan over the caliber, 50 BMG. Shaking your head as you look at Yelena, you let out a whistle, “It’s huge. Are we shooting something in the next zip code?”
You watch as she stabs the toe of her shoe into the dirt, glancing up at you with a tight grin, “You weren’t wrong when you said I’m a desk jockey. I just…” she pulls in a tight breath and stands up straighter, “I’m a desk jockey for the Avengers.”
As her words hit your ears, your brows clench tightly as you scan her face for any rise in her eyebrows. The small wrinkle on the side of her lips that would show that she was joking around with you. Staring into her eyes, you can see the sincerity in them as she nervously waits for what you’re about to tell her. Watching you slowly put together the pieces of all the small things she’s told you.
Those cameras were never for birdwatching, they were used for all the missions she’s gone on for the Avengers. The diplomatic trips she went on were actually trips to go save the world and there you were lounging on the couch as you complained about the bakery not having a specific muffin when she called.
“I was… I was an assassin before that.” Yelena’s eyes glance towards the rifle, “A Black Widow.”
“Black Widow?” you mutter to yourself, then realize exactly why you’ve heard that name.
Yelena nods to your silent realization, “That Black Widow is my sister.”
Your face falls slack as your hands open and you listen to your camera bag and tripod fall against the ground. Yelena wrings her fingers, pressing her lips into a thin frown as she tries to see exactly what you’re feeling.
You don’t let her guess as you slap a hard hit against her arm. She flinches back away from you in confusion as you raise your hands at your side in disbelief.
“Is that why I've never met your family!” You shout at her, “You said they were apocalypse preppers in the middle of Ohio!”
Yelena snorts in humor as she rubs the stinging hit on her arm, “I really can’t believe you fell for that.”
“Yelena!” You whine at her, groaning that you ever fell for something like that.
She drops the grin on her face as she steps towards you slowly, her hands running down your arms and finally holding onto yours softly. You notice clearly now, the small callus bumps on her hands and light scars on her arms. In the back of your mind, you had to have known there was something odd about a paper pusher coming back with yellowed bruises and tight grimaces when she sat down. Never would you have guessed that she was an employee at the Avengers Compound.
“I’m sorry,” her words are dripping with sincerity, a fear in her eyes that you can’t exactly place, “I completely understand if you never want to talk to me again. I just… I can’t tell everyone this. And when I was certain that I loved you- I couldn’t keep it a secret anymore. I’m basically an Avenger.”
Your heart is pounding in your chest, fingers clenching onto Yelena’s tighter than before, “What?”
Yelena clenches her brows, head cocking to the side a little as her eyes bounce around your face, “The Avengers? Y’know, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with a space god who visits us sometimes. Don’t tell me you’ve been living under a photography magazine and never-,”
“No, shut up,” you press your fingers against her lips, staring into those glowing brown eyes as you watch her pupils dilate.
Her brows raise as your fingers brush against her cheek and then over the small scar on her eyebrow. The nightmares that plague her at night make so much more sense now that this truth has come out into the world. You're seeing her in a new light but at the core of it all, it was all the same. Truly, the only thing that’s changed is this relationship.
“You love me?” you breath out quietly.
“Are you kidding, that’s what you’re?” Yelena chuckles quietly as she rubs her forehead, “Y/N. I’ve been saying it for weeks.”
“You’re supposed to be telling the truth right now.”
Yelena laughs, pressing a quick peck against your cheek, “Every single time you develop your film.”
You roll your eyes as you realize the loophole she’s found to get away with this, “I always have my earphones in, тбл болван.”
“But I’m your blockhead,” Yelena smiles, her arms wrapping around your waist.
“Unfortunately,” you whisper, leaning forward as you softly pick up her chin and place your lips on hers.
The warmth in your chest grows as you feel her lips move with yours, her fingers clinging to you tightly as you hold her close to you. She might’ve just thrown a curveball at you, but as you hold her in your arms in this moment, she is still the same Yelena. The same Yelena who loved fall because it let her wear every single vest she had hanging in her closet. The one who helped you slowly understand Russian, impressing you with all of the other languages she had learned. The one who had childlike wonder whenever she experienced a new dessert or saw an amusement park ride.
Yelena pats your sides with a blissful look on her face as she stares into your eyes and grins as you grin, “What were you nervous about?”
With a chuckle, you poke your camera bag with your boot, “I’m a professional photographer. Not an office assistant.”
She looks down at your bag, a giggle escaping her as you start to feel your face begin to burn with quiet embarrassment that you’re about to be ridiculed again. But as she looks up at your face and sees the doubt in your face and the tightness of her shoulders, her bows clench as she squeezes your arm.
“Y/N, I knew that already.”
More confusion sets in and Yelena begins to count on her fingers, “You’re subscribed to like ten photography magazines. You get excited about shutter bursts. You’ve dragged me to countless photography seminars. You have-,”
Quickly, you place your hand over her fingers, “Alright. Alright, I get it. Damn your spy skills.”
Yelena smiles, kissing your fingers gently, “Моя любов, you have nothing to be ashamed of. I’m a trained killer that’s been lying to you when I go on missions and somehow had you believe my family was only kind of crazy.” She leans in closer to you, “They’re insane, actually.”
You chuckle as you watch her kneel down and pick up your camera bag, swiping off the dust that’s landed on it and holding it carefully in her arms, “You find the beauty in everything because of this camera and you’re amazing at it. I’m just so grateful that you can find that in me.”
“I love you,” you finally whisper back to her, watching the light in her eyes glow with renewed warmth, “Besides, now I have an in to getting the Avengers to be my friends.”
Yelena rolls her eyes, “I am never letting you near them, especially Nat. I can’t handle both of you ganging up on me.”
You watch her with a grin, her hands carefully gathering up her rifle as you sling your bag over your shoulder. Grunting as she holds the gun in her arms, she glances over to the field where you notice targets set up in the far distance against a large rock face.
“How about we do some shooting?” She wiggles her brows at you, starting to set up the rifle and mat to comfortably shoot on the ground.
“The quiet kind,” you begin to ask, setting up your tripod and aiming your camera at Yelena as her nimble fingers push bullets into the rifle’s magazine, “or the kind that’s going to rip my arm off?”
Yelena rolls her eyes as she slips out of her jacket, picking up the heavy rifle as your eyes run along her toned arms while her blonde hair falls from her ponytail and frames her face gently. It was a new sight and you were certainly a fan of all of it.
“I promise it won’t leave more than a tiny bruise, besides,” Yelena glances back at you with a wink, “I’ll help you forget all about it later.”
Leaning down as you press a kiss on her cheek, she yanks the bolt back as your finger presses against a button on your shutter remote, the soft click of the camera taking a picture of the both of you.

Yelena: A fist fight can be romantic.
Kate: How so?
Yelena: You know, love can be like punch in the gut?
Kate: You mean like butterflies?
Yelena: Yes. Like punching butterflies in stomach. Should we try it?
Kate: No.
