I still can't wrap my head around how the "Betty, mi Betty... tiene novio" scene it's supposed to happen before the plan and before Armando falls in love with her BECAUSE HOW IS THAT NOT ROMANTIC? HE'S SO MORTIFIED, HE CALLED HER HIS

and Mario doesn't say anything? really? besides the "are you jealous?" joke and something but what was a bit after, I'm over here like 🧍

and by this far into the show they already had many intimate moments, those looks Armando gives to Betty oh my Gosh 🤧

(okay I'm rewatching ysblf and I have so many thoughts i think it's my first full re watch and I'm trying to catch on every detail and oh my God this novela is so perfect, I may come here and send some asks because you understand the novela perfectly)

Armando was so obviously already having a hard crush on Betty, his problem simply was that he didn't see her in a sexual light, but he totally and absolutely thought of himself as the most important man in Betty's life (obviously not counting her dad lol).

To have such blind devotion, to the point of sacrifice (rejecting better conditions like a proper office just to be near him, or rejecting RagTela's deal for him) was just addicting to Armando. He loved being the center of her world. He subconsciously saw her as his because she gave so much of herself to him without even expecting a thank you from him. He thought he was her everything... and then turns out there is a man out there who actually has her everything! It absolutely blows up Armando's worldview.

Mario definitely already suspected something was up, but I think he just thought it was like a little weird crush or obsession, and that was it. He def didn't think it to be so serious!

I actually fucking thought that Betty would end up with the Spaniard designer (what's his name? Gabriel?). I didn't really like the designer, not sure why. At first I really liked him until I just didn't. It's not hate, though, just kind of... rather have him at a distance?

And I was so scared that Armando would die and I was like 'is this Floricienta season 1 finale all over again?' I was so ready to drown in tears.

I'm glad that Daniel Valencia ended the way he did (in ✨prison✨) and Ma. Beatriz and Marcela starting their own company.

I wish Ricardo had received more punishment, but oh well. At least our dimwitted heartthrob cut him off as well as María Beatriz and Marcela.

A: realistic

Michelle used to want to be an actress like her mom (Mary Jane Watson), but she got stage fright at her elementary school play. Afterwards, Gayle gifted her a sketchbook, and Michelle has clung to it ever since. It’s why she’s torn between engineering and architecture: the marriage of science, which she loves, and art, her greatest comfort.

B: unrealistic but hilarious

Michelle actually isn’t as morbid as her interests suggest! She’s in fact a very warm and loving and protective person. She just has a hard time opening up because she’s been let down before...and frankly, why shouldn’t others have to work to be worthy of her heart and friendship?

She does, however, love playing up the stereotype to mess with people (and see who can see through it). Liz is the first to see through it, then Betty, Ned, Cindy, Peter, Abe, and Flash, in that order. AcaDec squad for life!!

C: heart-wrenching but fun to inflict on friends

After NWH, Michelle keeps getting this nagging feeling around Peter, a sort of deja vu she doesn’t understand, compounded by the pictures in her phone she has with this mysterious stranger. She makes the mistake of asking, once, and she never sees him again.

(She also finds letters in her desk drawer, addressed to “Peter Parker,” love confessions that she never sent. She doesn’t understand any of this 😭)

D: unrealistic but i will disregard canon about it because i reject canon reality and substitute my own

Her interest in the Black Dahlia case comes less from the murder itself, and more from the woman: Elizabeth Short, a woman who faced tumultuous odds (dropping out of high school, having aspirations of acting that never came to be, having a strained relationship with her busy father, being a widow) but kept going anyway (even owning a bookshop, which Michelle admits to herself would be nice, as a fallback plan). Even though Elizabeth’s life ended gruesomely, the symbol of the Black Dahlia reminds Michelle of the woman’s persistence despite her terrible lot in life.

(Listen, idk what FFH says, Michelle does not care about the murder itself—in fact, it disgusts her. Anything she says to the contrary is just her keeping up her persona)

Bonus headcanon: her older sister, Gayle Watson, is dating Emma Frost, her college roommate (yeah that’s right!! Mutants exist in the MCU because I said so!!)

Two of my favorite things coming together? yesss! Okay, fair warning this is long, I got a little excited.

Céline: my tears ricochet (I like this song for her because I feel like it fits, it could be at Valentine, but it also fits her character in general).

evermore (this just feels like how she felt for so long and then she made a decision and married Stephen, she probably felt like this in the marriage too, and where she regretted her decision a little maybe, and the ending of the song implies happiness, I feel like for a moment after getting pregnant and knowing she would be a mother she thought things would be okay, she'd be happy and her pain wouldn't be forevermore).

Rosemary: Willow (I feel like It could fit her and Johnny, her parents had plans in place to keep her safe but when Johnny came along she didn't listen to her parents or their attempts to keep her safe, Johnny wrecked her plans but).

Michael: It's time to go (after his argument and break up with Robert he probably thought about going back to him but knew he deserved better and knew Robert didn't want him around anymore. So he knew it was time to leave it behind).

Luke: right where you left me (Luke after Jocelyn and Valentine got married, anyone?).

Stephen: betty (put it in the right perspective it could be about Him, Amatis, and Céline).

Amatis: hoax (I feel like it could be how she felt when Stephen left her).

closure (I believe there was a time period when she was so probably angry with Stephen, and she felt that way when she received his letters but still read them).

Robert: illicit affairs (I feel like this one is an obvious choice, I can picture it for him and the woman he cheated on Maryse with).

Maryse: mad woman (it just screams Maryse to me, like we know she was angry, bitter, and hurt deeply when she found out Robert had cheated on her, and rightfully so).

Jocelyn: tolerate it (it just fits for some reason, like I can see her feeling this way toward Valentine).

Valentine: I don't think I got one, It could also be because I don't want to give him one. I can imagine someone so singing No Body, No Crime about him though 😂

Robert and Maryse: coney island (as their marriage began to fall apart and they fell out of love).

Valentine and Jocelyn: exile (after the split).

Jocelyn and Luke: long story short (I feel like it could fit them when they finally got together).

Céline and Stephen: mirrorball (I didn't make the connection until recently, but I remembered how Céline said she'd be whatever Stephen wanted her to be. I feel like she tried to be what he wanted, tried to make him happy and make him laugh in their relationship despite him not loving her, and this song kinda fits that).

Michael and Robert: seven (when they were younger I feel like Michael would take Robert's hand and they'd run off to the woods to get away from Robert's parents). dorothea (after their fight and breakup Michael probably wondered if he ever crossed Robert's mind, and after years he probably wished for him to come back).

Stephen and Amatis: cardigan (I thought of them while I was listening to it to make the list).

Invisible string and ivy is Rosemary and Céline (my most recent OTP. Invisible string is Céline, thinking about the night she met Rosemary and wondering if there was always a string connecting them in a way). ( Ivy is for Rosemary, because she realized she had feelings for Céline but she was with Johnny).

'tis the damn season is Robert and Michael (Waywood is a little underrated, but I also feel they'd go their separate ways for a while but always find their way back to each other somehow).

i don't do angsty endings bc i personally am writing fanfic for happy endings tbh but i WILL say the biggest angsty cliffhanger i've ever left my readers on was the end of ch 3 in do you like or like like me? i intended to go only a week between ch 3 and 4 but then didn't...so that's probably the angstiest i've ever left bughead if that makes sense lol

hmm, i feel like all my stories have happy endings! but maaaaaybe a merry little retail christmas, since they end up with their own bookstore and jughead proposing to a very surprised betty in said bookstore as he reveals they own it?

not hate exactly, but i have gotten people kind of bluntly asking me to include particular characters in a fic that are either a) already in the tags or b) not in the tags for a reason, and that's not...my favorite thing, ngl.

yes, yes i do! i guess i'm usually solidly in the M side of things rather than the E side, and it's typically equal parts horny and fluffy since it's always between characters who are ~in loooove! i did write a kink week oneshot entirely as an ode to the Satisfyer, a sex toy i highly recommend to anyone who owns a clit.

eek okay so it's ~possible~ i'll never finish love in the time of coronavirus bc idk if i want to/am capable of going back to that headspace of early pandemic but A L S O i maybe will? chapter 8, the only unfinished chapter, is supposed to be a time jump epilogue so you never know, an idea might inspire me to write it at some point in the future! maybe it's meant to be written at a point in the future that's ~actually post pandemic, you know? we shall see.

oh god, this is a hard one. i feel like i'm good at dialogue? it's hard to self evaluate!

What’s your writing weaknesses?

describing people!!! why am i so bad at it? i'll never know. however i do think it's part of the appeal of fanfic for me, bc everyone kinda already knows what characters look like so you can get away with the least amount of physical character description more so than original fic.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I don't really know any other languages besides English besides some rudimentary/faded italian and the amount of spanish you get in middle school, but if the character calls for it, like a stray Lodge family "mija" and such, i do that? but i think it's super cool when others who are bilingual, multilingual, etc. incorporate other languages!

hands down, do you like or like like me? it just captured a lot of things i've always wanted for high school bughead in that fic AND the process allowed me to get out a lot of angst and nostalgia about my high school years, which was super cathartic. and the fact that i seem to have produced something that a lot of people could relate to as former nerdy teen girls makes me really happy. Exhale is a close second favorite, and probably mainly because i have a lot of anxiety attached to Exhale bc i never update it as fast as ppl want me to.

Ranger Rankings - Power Rangers Beast Morphers

Genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this tbh.

Premise - 4

One part RPM, one part Lightspeed Rescue. I kind of like that they acknowledge the Morphin' Grid properly rather than just casting vague aspersions as to its existence.

The whole Morph-X thing works really well to drive the season forward and remains relevant throughout both seasons, and it gives Grid Battleforce a reason to exist outside of just fighting Evox.

I thought they might start playing with virtual reality a bit when they had the whole Avatars and Cyber Dimension stuff, but I'm kind of glad they didn't.

Character Dynamics - 3.5

Devon and Ravi felt a little flat at times. Their sole characteristics were 'video games' and 'art', outside of their relationships with the other characters. That'd be fine if it was just one season, but I didn't really feel like either of them changed too much over the course of the show, especially Devon when he's the Red Ranger.

Zoey and Nate were much better - Nate especially felt like he had a journey to go on, and he got there by the end of the season. I enjoyed that the pair of them got to get together midway through rather than at the end, so we could kind of explore them a bit more as the season progressed.

The supporting cast were also surprisingly good. Blaze and Roxy (both real and evil) were fun little foils, and the parents having an active presence for most of the show was nice since they had roles that meant they could keep popping up without needing to be forced into the plot.

I also kind of loved the Beast Bots. I thought they'd be a bit superfluous, or draw time away from the other characters, but they were there pretty much exactly as often as they were needed.

And I will not hear a bad word about Ben & Betty. They're dumb, but they mean well, and they're very funny without crossing the line into annoying or arrogant. A definite breath of fresh air after Monty and Victor last season.

Sixth Ranger Arc - 4

Steel! I love Steel. He could have easily just have existed to forward Nate's plots, but he had his own stories too, and something to strive for throughout the seasons. Him learning to be more human and then actually getting to be human is the perfect culmination, especially after his heroic sacrifice.

Plus he's a giant goofball. We love a giant goofball. "My butt is metal!"

Plot Development - 4

Were most of Evox's plans the same? Yes. But they usually had a point to them outside of the usual 'acquire Morph-X, ???, profit' angle.

There were enough subplots running through the seasons to keep everything moving. The Cybergate arc, and the data chips stuff in the first season, then the Ryjack stuff in the second one, kept everything from being too samey. I did find myself switching off during the Megazord fights, but then I've just watched 27 seasons of these so I think that's more on me than the show itself.

I also very much enjoyed how much they leaned into Ranger history; I don't think, outside of Megaforce where that was sort of the point, that any other season has used past Ranger continuity so well and so consistently. Doctor K showing up not once but twice was wonderful, and the Venjix reveal was super clever (even if I knew it was coming).

Villains - 4

Evox in the first season is great fun. I love that giant snake design, it really works well for me, and he loses a little bit in the second season after he becomes a robot full time. His mini arc pretending to be the Mayor was fun, but it felt like it ended a bit quick.

Scrozzle, stupid name aside, was pretty good too. I liked the banter with the other minions. There's something about 'put upon evil genius' that works for me.

Both sets of Roxy and Blaze were fun, probably moreso in the second season where the stakes felt a little higher.

Yes, another 5, leave me alone. Seeing the Dino Charge Rangers again was great, and the plot they came up with to get everyone together built up nicely rather than just appearing out of nowhere for the crossover.

I also found the villain clip-show episode in the middle oddly fun, since it wasn't just a clip-show for the season I'd literally just watched.

It's a shame they weren't able to get any more of the Dino Rangers back; just having Jason there, while nice, felt a little weak.

But that triple Megazord fight at the end? Perfect.

Hottest Ranger - Nate's the cutest, but Ravi and his arms win this one.

So I was wondering if there's indeed any song that inspires you to write AOY & ALR at the moment. (When you first posted A Lover's Redemption I did search if there was an actual song with this name, loool... 😅 sometimes I feel like the biggest clown ever!)

yesss, i based best friends and gml off the songs, and aoy wasn’t actually based off of any song but both those songs you mentioned 100% suit the story. as for alr, the title i came up with myself. and with aoy too, i didn’t want to keep taking titles from songs 😂 but kth talk slow is by chase atlantic too ;) i have mentioned before that i have playlists for my fics that really help motivate me to write because they put me in the mindset for that fic, and for alr, i have one, here’s a screenshot of a few songs:

honestly, idk why some of these songs give me mafia vibes, and some others are romantic. i think i might post the whole playlist (even though the series isn’t out yet, lol) and update it as i go along. but like some are romantic because, well, duh. like dna and drumming song would be how oc feels about Jimin; iris is how Jimin feels about oc; songs like power of love and fire on fire are how they feel about each other; and then others, e.g. throne makes me think of (spoiler alert?) Jimin’s past, or way down we go and bartholomew and hayloft and can you feel my heart just give me straight mafia vibes lol😂

this is the playlist for run to you, the series i am also actively working on and am sooo excited for! i got the title from the first song :) but it definitely describes the relationship for the story, and also the beach. i’ll also be releasing a playlist for this fic closer to the time of posting (idk when).

Bughead Appreciation Day 1 Except It’s Day 2

So I spent yesterday nice and cozy in bed and put this off (good choice, tbh, I was very snug as a bug), but now, now comes the time for me to gush about some people in the fandom!  This is definitely not a comprehensive list, I have absolutely left some people out because I am very forgetful, but, in no particular order and under a cut because I’m a wordy bitch:

@tory-b: A delight and a dear, leading writer of monsterfucker!Betty, co-runner of @riverdaleprideandjoyzine, a legend and a friend, we have no choice but to stan.  Her stuff is so good and varied and just *chef’s kiss* a delight, two favorites of mine are Fangs/com/Match (Betty/dragon!Jughead meet via monsterfucker Tinder, has some great friendship moments with Kevin and Veronica and is v sexy and funny, features the horniest Betty) and Sticky Sweet Serenade ((past)-friends-to-enemies-to-lovers bughead, mixes up some statuses in Riverdale, excellent mystery, I remember reading it and going, “holy shit, a believable take on Northside!Jughead”).  I’ve also gotta mention Whats in a Name? (Betty and Jughead meet on tumblr, Betty writes poetry and Jughead is a shitposter, they slowly connect, it’s great) and To Balance the Scales (scientist!Betty/mermaid!Jughead, currently a slow build, I cannot wait for you guys to see the excellent worldbuilding she’s done).  I could keep going, or you could binge all her fics today, an excellent use of your Saturday, I assure you, because I’ve left a lot out.

@stillhidden: Always good for some great thoughts on the show, one of the best reasons for my your thoughts on Riverdale please show them to me tag, I get psyched every time I see a Riverdale text post or ask answer because I know I’m in for a good time.  Thoughtful and funny and nice, what a combo!

@satelliteinasupernova: So talented!  Author, artist, co-runner of @riverdaleprideandjoyzine, funny, haver of good thoughts on Riverdale is there anything she can’t do?  No, there is not.  Every time I see her art I’m like !!!, the colors! how well-drawn the hands are! the accuracy of their hair! the backgrounds! the way I can see the love in their eyes! I cannot even, there are no words.  Also!  Her fics!  So original!  One of my earliest memories in the fandom is reading The town called Riverdale (a sort of mystery about the meta fuckery going down in Riverdale, explores time loops, stories that control lives, the roles the Archie characters are “supposed” to have, a mash-up with concepts in Princess Tutu that requires zero knowledge of Princess Tutu) and going !!! is this a Princess Tutu mash-up?  Have I been #blessed enough to see a mash up between Riverdale, a story that fucks with archetypes, and Princess Tutu, one of the shows about fucking with archetypes and the way stories ontrol lives?  I was and I am and I raved to my non-fandom but Princess Tutu liker friend about it.  Has also wonderfully tackled eldritch horror in return to Eldervair and gothic horror/romance in The Lady of the Manor, does fluff, does angst, does it all, so go check her out!

@go-ldy: An angst and time skip queen, tbh, and always has some great thoughts on Riverdale, another reason I’m glad I have that tag.  Every time she answers an ask, I’m like, “Yesss, incoming Good Thoughts, I am HERE for this”.  But do not sleep on her as an author!  Into the Deep is some delightful dark!bughead, and I’ll walk with you in the shadows is such good time skip angst and a mystery and there’s a certain surprise I love but is a spoiler but you simply must read this, you must.  The Time after Time series is giving us that good angst bughead content that season 5 is not going to, and I’m so glad it exists and just thrilled that she trusted me to beta it.  I’m leaving a lot of stuff out though, so you should go check her out!

@milajovovich: One of the best gif makers in the fandom, I will fight you on this.  Makes absolute miracles with footage, the way she makes season 4 webrips look like they’re actual blurayrips is godly, they’re so crisp and so smooth and the coloring is always great.  And like, jesus, the way the bluray footage looks?  Fucking outstanding, the talent is off the charts.  Go marvel at their gifs, go, go.

@imreallyloveleee: A prolific, talented author and funny to boot!  loveleee is one of the people who has been here since the beginning, a mainstay in the fandom, and we are so, so lucky she hasn’t left.  How do I even begin to rec you some of her stuff?  She can write smut with fics like burn, baby (a 3x16 missing moment of bughead fucking in the car as the trailer burns, what a gift to the fandom, I can’t even), is queen of pining with fics like boy problems (season 1 post 1x05 canon divergence, a bughead get together but with that quality pining) and her i’m just a shot away series (two fics, one from Jughead’s POV and one from Betty’s, that are fully of pining and sexual tension and miscommunication and major teenage vibes, you gotta read them), and writer of one of the funniest fics in the fandom and one of my favorite, like spirits in the night (the core four + Kevin perform a seance to contact Jason Blossom and yes, it is just as funny as it sounds, perhaps even funnier).  And there are countless others, so settle in and go check her out because she does it all, fluff and angst too, I just don’t have time to rec them all.

@meditationonbaaal: Absolutely one of my all-time favorite fic authors, like across fandoms, the talent, I cannot even properly describe it, like the quality of the prose, amazing, iconic.  the devil’s daughter (a season 2 rewrite with some differences in season 1, jumps back and forth through time in the best way, has the best and creepiest dark!Jughead, has some great smut that includes dom!Betty and dom!Jughead can you believe we are so blessed, such a good rewrite of season 2, and you know how I love season 2, so that is some high praise, let me tell you) is easily in my top 10 all-time favorite fics across the many, many fandoms I’ve read many, many fics of, and you simply must check it out, you will not be disappointed.  develop, stop, fix just blew me away as a kink week fic of bughead playing with bdsm in a dark room, the layers, the smut, the trust, the feelings, I cannot even.  And doll parts!  doll parts is so good, just such an amazing take on drop dead gorgeous, a fabulous Jughead and Betty as per usual, dare I say even better than an already fantastic movie.  I am behind on loose lips sink ships, but I can already tell it’s going to be a great exploration of the Stonies and a great take on season 4.  Keep an eye on her stuff here and here, do not miss out!

@dieqohargreeves:  An icon and legend in gif making, just makes the most beautiful and intricate and creative gifs.  The coloring is amazing, the techniques are amazing, that shit is Art, I will fight you on this.  You gotta check ‘em out, you just gotta, I can’t do their work justice.

@sullypants:  The wit!  The humor!  The observational skills!  The talent, my god!  Sully is the genius behind @bettycooperoutfitwatch and @riverdalearthistory as well as a fabulous writer of both meta and fic, yet another excellent reason for me to keep up with others’ thoughts on Riverdale.  Her a comic miniverse series is so funny and sweet and such a great take on the Archie Comics version of bughead, and the after-party series (Betty and Jughead attend a, well, prom after party, and the events that happen, and I am not doing it justice, but it is v good, I promise) has such a great vibe and such great characterization.  And young adult friction (librarian!Jughead is in a kind of competition with librarian!Betty, it’s so funny and so great) is such a delight, and we do not have time to get into everything great she’s written, but go check it out here.

@lilibug--xx: The queen of bughead smut, can you believe she has graced us with her stuff?  It is steamy and it is in character and it is amazing.  Dark Cherry Chutney is still a fandom favorite of mine, just some great dark!bughead who are unaware of each other’s darkness (but oh, they find out!) as well as some excellent smut.  And Pressed for Time (Betty teasing Jughead with her skirts in an effort to get him to fuck her and he is barely holding on until he isn’t, alternating POVs in the best way) is sexy af but makes you work for it, it’s a delight.  And give you mine (Betty and Jughead fuck at work and it is so hot, I can’t even) is so goddamn good, just some of the best dom!Jughead out there.  Has also written monsterfucker!Betty, which you know I’m a fan of, in once upon a midnight (werewolf-hunter!Betty/werewolf!Jughead with sex pollen where she does not shy away from some wolfy-ness and it is hot af) and has written monsterfucker!Jughead, a rarity but always a delight, with reap what you sow (witch!Jughead/undine!Betty and Betty is so delightfully otherworldly and it is so sexy but also sweet), and there are countless other smut fics, we would be here all day if I went through them all, so you gotta check her out here.  One more thing though: she can also write fluff with Lemon Drops and Chocolate Chips, a sweet fic of Betty and Jughead as neighbors that you should definitely check out.

@thatiranianphantom:  Funny and thoughtful and talented and has correct opinions on musicals!  Writes such good explorations of post-4x17 (and post-4x17 adjacent) scenarios.  Like, the we are a masterpiece series is v good and so interesting, and no one else is singing my song is such great angst as a post-4x17 fic and a great use of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend songs.  I am forgetting a lot of stuff, I know I am, and I think I might be behind like a fool, so let’s go check out all her stuff together here, yes?  Yes.  Also?  Great for Riverdale speculation, especially about the season 5 musical episode.

@heartunsettledsoul:  So talented, queen of canon missing moments, and funny to boot!  I love reading her liveblogging of the episodes, and I cannot recommend her stuff enough.  Her Forgotten Moments series of canon missing moments is iconic, you must go read all of it, especially there’s witchcraft in your hips, a post-2x13 fic of Betty and Jughead being such teenagers and Jughead being a dweeb about his cheerleader girlfriend and I am not doing it justice but you gotta go read it, man, you gotta.  But the series is full of gems from the beginning with Midnight Silence (Betty and Jughead talk post-1x04 about the Grundy debacle and it’s such a delight) and going all the way through to the most recent it might’ve been a nightmare (a 4x12 through 4x16 fic that gives me a wide range of emotions and is fantastic) and your eyes look like coming home (Betty’s diary entries throughout season 1, simply inspired).  But she’s also so good at AUs!  a dark world aches (for a splash of the sun) is already looking so good as a bughead mystery with some varchie fun on the side, just some quality core four content, and won’t be the same (if you’re not here with me) is a favorite of fake dating, Christmas, and there was only one bed, just the best tropefest.  And there are so, so many more, so you must check her out here.

@lovedinapastlife: She writes such a variety of AUs, I am just in awe of them all!  The talent, I am amazed.  The dark!bughead in The Society is peak dark!bughead with a simply iconic yandere!Betty, and you are seriously missing out if you have not read it yet.  Oh, and there’s some more dark!Jughead with a side of dark!Betty in the key to harm(ony) that you must check out because it’s such a great ride and is sexy, what more could you want?  Every movie AU she does really takes the source material and makes it her own from works You Drive Me Crazy (but I'm gonna keep on loving you), based on Drive Me Crazy and definitely better than the movie, to the most recent to all the boys (but especially you), based on To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and just so sweet.  But also can write otherworldly fics like Heart’s Desire with genie!Betty and The Second Coming with fae!Jughead, as well as regular aus like Detention (Betty and Jughead in detention and it gets a little sexy but also quite cute), and pure porn like Eye of the Beholder (Betty and Jughead as sorcerers who hook up over sorcerer Tinder and it is sexy but also sweet), as well as some of the best ABO in fandom with her A/B/O Mine series (alpha!Jughead/omega!Betty in high school and holy shit is it hot as hell).  I am only just skimming the surface here, so definitely go check her out!

@kyloren aka @jughead-jones:  Mila is so talented at making gifs, like goddamn, and also so funny, but I bet you didn’t know that she also has written some damn good fic!  She hides it, but it is out there and it is very good, my favorite being let me hang my hook on your splendor, a fandom fave of a Scooby-Doo au that is so much more thoughtful and clever with its casting, and also very amusing, you must check out the rest of her stuff here.

@elizabethbettscooper: A delightful person and a delightful writer who is largely retired from the bughead fandom but still such a talent, like seriously.  Her Twin Peaks Riverdale AU The Past Dictates the Future is so good, you simply must check it out, like you must.  And yours was the first face i saw is such a fun AU of “what if Betty’s crush on Archie was a front for her crush on Jughead”, you must go read it.  And holy shit, her i may be bad (but i’m perfectly good at it) series is peak dom!Jughead/sub!Betty taking place when they’re in college and fucking in so many varied ways, like if you are into that, you must go read these fics, you must, you will have a great and sexy, sexy time.  And there’s so much more good stuff, you gotta go read it all here.

@bettycreeper: She does so much for the fandom and she makes such gorgeous gifs!  Like, the coordination she does on the @bugheadfamily server and @bugheadfanfictionawards and @riverdale-events and probably elsewhere cannot be understated, she is such a valuable presence in the fandom.  And have you seen her gifs?  Gorgeous quality, just gorgeous, and her movie poster gifs for fics are simply inspired.  Also?  She’s an amazing beta, just outstanding.

@stillscape: A very thoughtful person and excellent writer who I can’t seem to tag.  Dianthus Caryophyllus is still one of my favorite fics in the fandom, a high school bughead fic with some amazing pining from Jughead with an oblivious Betty, I can feel it, it’s so good.  And of course there’s Ninia, an amazing take on the soulmates trope, just so good, I cannot do it justice, you must check it out.  The for the life of me series is also such a good AU for Betty and Jughead getting together pre-Riverdale at a summer internship, I have such fond memories of it.  And la peste (the plague)!  So good, I cannot even.  We don’t have time for everything, except you should make time and go check all of it out here.

@theheavycrown:  God, where would we be without Sarah?  She does so much work for the @bugheadfamily and @bugheadfanfictionawards and @riverdale-events and @riverdalecentral and I’m probably forgetting some, tbh.  And so sweet and talented!  Her gifs are fantastic and so are her fics.  Like, Rain Comes Down (Betty and Jughead fucking in the car on the side of the road while cars drive by)?  Iconic, some amazing exhibitionism.  you had me howling(Betty in heat in the woods and then Jughead finds her and fucking ensues)? Fantastic ABO, so horny, so desperate.  Beneath the Silver Moon Rising?  Excellent dom!Jughead, excellent sexy times.  You must go check out all of her stuff here, you must.

@50shades-of-bughead:  Just some of the absolute cutest art that you must check out, especially their series of dark!bughead that is just fantastic.

@thepointoftheneedle: The variety of work here is phenomenal, the talent, I cannot.  Took my ridiculous double fake marriage/draft-dodging concept and turned it into an excellent, thoughtful period piece with phenomenal characterization and a great mystery with Never No Locomotive, I cannot recommend it enough.  And Ghosts and Clouds and Nameless Things (ghost!Jughead/grieving-dead-Jughead!Betty with a side of mystery) gave me so many emotions, I think I almost cried, and I am not a crier, I assure you.  Hey Pixie Dream Girl, I’m Coming for Your Man! (Betty in her bookstore saves Jughead from his date with a Manic Pixie Dream Girl) is so delightfully funny, and Sunflowers (Betty and Jughead share a working space and fall in love) is so goddamn cute.  I have actually found myself behind on her work, which is a crime, it all looks so amazing and I know it will be, and you must check all of it out with me here.

@hellodinoflower:  Such an amazing presence in the fandom, such a delight, so clever and funny.  She ran @bugheaddrabblechallenge this past summer and gave us all so much joy in the process, and, while her fics are deleted now (as is her right), I promise you that they were amazing, you all missed out if you slept on her.  She’s such a great follow, you gotta follow her.

@bluevelvetvideo:  A delighful soul, great character insight, great writing.  Like, her smut is fantastic, have you read Arsenal (a double feature of Betty and Jughead fooling around in public and then having some sexytimes back in private with some quality dom!Jughead, let me tell you, v steamy)?  Because you should.  Christmas Lights (Jughead ties Betty up with their Christmas lights, it’s fantastically sexy) is a delight, and you can’t blame gravity (for falling in love) is a very fun take on soulmates and soulmarks, and you simply must go read it.  She is a master of smut, let me tell you, and you must check out all her stuff here.  Also?  An excellent beta, 10/10, I’m so lucky to have her.

Same here: Betty, Marcela, and Armando- The holy trinity lol

Betty has my heart, but I find Marcela and Armando so fascinating and I love unpacking their dysfunctional relationship. There's just so much to discuss and analyze in their dynamic. Their competing egos, the incompatibility in personalities, and general lack of respect for one another, all wrapped with the irony that on paper, and in society's view, they were "perfect for each other". For me though, ultimately, both Armando and Marcela were victims of their own prejudice that was condemning them to settle into a relationship that made them both so unhappy.

Omg yes, in this victimization of Marcela, people fail to recognize how misogynistic she actually was!! Marcela took out all her frustration on not being able to control Armando's infidelity and her denial of how bad their relationship was, on the women that surrounded him, regardless if they engaged with him romantically or not. Her hatred for Betty is the biggest example of that. It's ironic that on paper, Armando hiring Betty as his secretary should have been the best news for somebody as jealous of beautiful women as she was. Yet literally her reason for hating Betty was that Armando was a cheater, even if (at least initially lol) she had nothing to do with that. But there she was, trying to justify her hate in creative ways when it was all rooted in misogyny and resentment towards Armando. Yet, breaking up with him was out of the question. The epitome of this is the scene where Marcela takes Betty out for lunch trying to get information out of her. I mean, she's broken and I genuinely feel for her in this scene, but when she tries to manipulate Betty using the female solidarity card 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ AKJSDHAJDK. I CAN'T lol. That's exactly what she never showed Betty, solidarity... not as a woman, not as a professional. and not as a human being. But again, Marcela did have her moments where she was reasonable, showed good judgement as a boss, and it was hard not to root for her in general.

Yes, Armando's parents were terrible. They were terrible to both Armando and Marcela. I've seen criticism of Don Hermes (justified) but at least in Betty's household, she had genuine display of love and affection, even if they did handicap her in some ways with their overprotection. And that's a whole other discussion. But that's what so amazing about the series, it gives way for so much interpretation, perspective, and analysis. For example: Mario Calderon is a terrible human being, the ultimate villain of the series, but also he was almost impossible to hate👀😭🤣.

Same here. I love Betty for her sweet, way-too-innocent personality and her sense of humor (even if it’s more like a mechanism to deal with her insecurities and how much they affect her), but Armando and Marcela are so dark and interesting (although good to notice that Betty herself BECOMES pretty dark aftet she finds the Letter. I’d say a great part of Armando’s and Marcela clinge to each other (Armando’s clinge to Marcela is strange— he “needs” her, can’t let her go because she “represents” a good, stable life dven though in practice it’s chaos, yet at the same time he’s desperately trying to free himself and get a breath of fresh air), more than prejudice itself, it was due to their parents. They have a very strange dynamic, as they both see Roberto and Margarita as their parents, and Roberto and Margarita also treat Marcela and Armando as their children (they constantly call them that), and often blur the lines in the relationship between the two, like that scene the day of the collection in which Claudia Bosch got drunk. That time Armando and Marcela were fighting and angry; it was a couple’s quarrel that could have seriously affected their relationship. But Margarita and Roberto treated it like a pair of little siblings fighting over a toy, and even asked them to hug each other, smile, and “make peace”. That was so, so strange. That was a siblings’ dynamic, not a couple’s. Armando and Marcela grew up together, so we can assume that it’s been this way their whole lives. This just can’t possibly be healthy. Add to that how Margarita was always partly helping Marcela, and partly helping Armando, because in her eyes they were both her children… and on top of it all, the constant drilling into their heads of how they were meant to be together and it was the Mendozas’ and Valencias’ dream to see their children getting married. They were treated like siblings and expected to love each other as a couple. Just weird.

We could also mention that, even though Armando was a womanizer, he only looked for beautiful women of a high status. The kind of woman that, were it not because he’s already with Marcela, his parents would aprove, unlike the poor guy that Camila married and got her exiled from the family. Even Armando’s rebellion and need for freedom restricted to what his family would approve.

Yes! Marcela even laughs at the idea of Betty being Armando’s secretary and mocks him that he’s “presenting symptoms of fidelity”😓 she hated Betty simply for being ugly, and completely disregarded her professional abilities based off her looks… but, funnily enough, she never criticizes or judges Gutierrez for being ugly, nor ever undermines his owrk or authority (except when he was trying to abuse his position to take advantage of Aura Maria). It was just all rooted in mysogyny and classism.

Omggg! Yesss! That scene always irked me. The way she says “we are both women, and we need to be in solidarity of that feeling”. Like, girl, whaaaat? She spent the whole show callinf Betty a thing, an animal, an undefined being, etc. Marcela even told Armando explicitly that she found offensive that Armando believed that she saw Betty as a female rival, and even Armando seems shocked or disgusted for a second there. Marcela genuinely didn’t even see her as a human being. She had her good side (thus why I can’t hate her), and I feel bad for her situation, but it’s important to also highlight her bad attitudes and not hide them under the rug like most of the fandom seems to do 😓😓

Lol, tbh I loooove Mario Calderon. He’s an a-hole, mysogynistic, manipulator, awful “friend”, maquiavelic, cruel, and much more, but he’s soooo funny. He has so much charisma! I can’t help but love his scenes because he always makes me laugh. Ahh, ysblf always finding a way ti make people love very wrong and broken characters😌❤️✨
