OC Fun Facts!

I'm joining in on the new game @mysticstarlightduck started with her post on the Scrapyard Boys!

I'll share some details about the three main characters from 9 Years Yearning: Uileac Korviridi, Orrinir Relickim, and Cerie Korviridi (Uileac's little sister).

Rules: Make a list of fun facts about your OCs. Like a headcanon list, if you will! Except it's actually canon lol.

Uileac Korviridi

He's obsessed with tea. Like, unhealthily obsessed. And a tea snob. Worst man ever. His least favorite household chore is mopping the floors because they just get dirty again in five seconds so why bother 🙄 If he had to pick a profession other than soldier, he'd be a horse trainer. While Uileac loves all animals, he has a healthy fear of chickens. They're just so damn unnerving. Something about those weird little beady eyes. He'd rather deal with a bucking horse than an angry rooster. (Yes, he knows it's irrational ok) His perfect day off would be spent going on a picnic with Orrinir, Cerie, and their horses to a nice spot by the Great Gold River. Of course, he'd have to stay on alert for Cerie shoving him into the river for funsies. When he's not in his Bremish Cavalry uniform, he's not very picky about his clothes. Just a normal tunic and a cozy pair of trousers. He's a bit of a homebody at heart.

Orrinir Relickim

His bad habit is being LOUD. The man has no volume control. Orrinir's pretty vain, especially about his hair. Look, it's gorgeous and luscious and such a nice cherry red - who wouldn't be proud? His signature cologne is an amber perfume stick Uileac bought him. Secretly everyone thinks it smells kind of awful, and Orrinir agrees, but Uileac bought it for him and now Uileac thinks he likes the smell so he's trapped smelling like amber forever and ever. Or at least until he grows a damn spine. At home, you're likely to find him wearing hideous paisley or floral prints. His sister-in-law Cerie buys them for him at festivals as a joke, but he wears them anyway. Both because it doesn't make sense to waste good fabric, but also because it makes Cerie mad to see him so unbothered by it. Orrinir loves to cook, which is convenient because Uileac hates to cook (but loves to eat). His favorite thing to make is yak butter scones with fresh elderberry jam. His favorite atribute about himself is being able to slice through damn near anything because he keeps his sword surgery-sharp.

Cerie Korviridi

Cerie is, and will always be, the baby of the family. She can't escape it. This is her eternal curse. Her brother Uileac and brother-in-law Orrinir spoil, coddle, and henpeck her about everything, well after the age when they should. Her bad habit is being a bit of a whiner, though she eventually grows out of that. Cerie's perfect day would be spent at the library inhaling random books about topics that she never cared about until right that minute. Unlike her older brother, Cerie has an insatiable sweet tooth. Her favorite is cardamom milkcakes, which are spicy and kind of glutinous. She can NOT handle her liquor. Get her drunk and she's just going crazy. Then crying about a hangover the next day. Cerie is a messy little shit so it's fortunate that she lives with her brother and brother-in-law, who always pick up after her even though they complain about it incessantly 😌 she has them very well trained.

Werewolf and Vampire AU Masterpost (specifically for the LAL western chapter)

I can't believe this is a thing I'm writing because this is normally NOT my thing, but the brainworms are very very real, so a few things I'm gonna get out of the way right now:

•The tag I use for this is "bark bark flap flap", so if you wanna mute it cuz you're sick of seeing it, please feel free.

• The end goal of this for me is not shipping. If it happens to end up that way, that's fine (I am even warming up on the prospect as I write the characters more), but overall I'm just playing with character chemistry. I'm stating this up front because of the explicit sexual culture around werewolves and vampires online. I will not be making any sexual content for this AU (ESPECIALLY not anything omegaverse, I have very little tolerance for that malarkey). At most it may be gore.

I would request you not use my AU writings/character designs/story beats etc for sexually explicit material, but obviously I can't stop you. Just keep it away from me, thanks.

The overall premise here is set in the Wild West chapter obviously, but I'm not opposed to other timelines and their monster AUs hopping in for fun. (I know there's a popular theory about Oboro being a fish yokai of some kind, that one rocked)

In this AU, Sundown is the werewolf and Mad Dog is the Vampire.

"But Aima-" I hear you cry. "Mad Dog should be the werewolf cuz he literally has Dog in his name." You are not incorrect. And if you wanna expand on this yourself you are welcome to! But personally I think that since Mad Dog is already a tumblr sexyman fruitcake, his vibes work better with vampires overall. And Sundown is a stoic lone wolf anyway lol

ANYWAYS, there's monsters all around the Wild West, and the frontier folks are out there just tryin' to make it.

Mad Dog in this setting is still a Bounty Hunter, but also goes after monsters. He's still clever and crafty, but one night, he bites off a little more than he can chew, and the target he's pursuing gets the better of him and is interrupted before he can totally drain him, when causes him to turn instead. (Will make a post later discussing how vampirism and lycanthropy spreads in this universe, but the long and short of it is vampirism is a parasite, lycanthropy is a virus)

Sundown is the werewolf, in fact that's where his name came from in this AU (The sun setting and shifting into a werewolf). The current lore is Sundown saved his town from a werewolf, but got infected himself, and took out his own town.

Sundown and Mad Dog have still known each other a long time, but neither either of them knew each other when they were human. There's a bit of hypocrisy to them both, since Sundown could find others affected by the virus and stick around with them in a pack, meanwhile Mad Dog is still a monster hunter when he's a monster himself.

Annie in this setting is also a monster hunter, in training under Dallas.

O. Dio is a kelpie (design is still a WIP), and the Crazy Bunch is a group of aquatic monsters that roams around taking over water sources for their territory, and their main beef with Success is (since they used to be a mining town), some of their water runoff was contaminated by mercury.

Currently I'm just running on the premise of them hanging out, and being In Situations, with no real chronological story beats, but it's implied that Sundown wants to find a cure for his lycantrhopy (because therapy doesn't exist yet I guess lol). Or just be killed (like the canon). Whichever comes first.

Sundown has 2 forms, human and werewolf. He only shifts on the night of the Full Moon, and in emergencies/life or death cases. When he shifts, he usually doesn't remember the events of the night, only brief flashes and strong emotions. He does however have a brewed draught concocted of various vile herbs etc. that he can take the day of his shift that helps him stay more cognizant. But he can't always get all the ingredients for it, so it's not consistent.

Mad Dog has 3 forms, the humanoid form is the default, when he's running low on energy/blood he takes the little bat form, and he can take the big bat form whenever he wants, but it uses up a lot of energy, so he tends to not use it unless he has to.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? A release of toxic masculinity (13RW) was a super sweet one to write, and ended quite happily :).

8. do you get hate on fics? Not exactly, but I have been the target of bots (unfortunately).

9. do you write smut? I used to write nothing but smut lmao and about 9/10 of my fics are smutty, but I'm trying to include a bit more plot these days, mainly as I'm not great at writing smut haha.

Now - to get to the main dish, as we Greeks say - the reason I think that the whole "I care for no one but myself" view is severely flawed is because I've met a lot of people like you. They abandoned everyone they tricked into loving them. They ended up being alone in their lives, with no friends, just acquaintances. When they suffered losses they had no comfort. When they had successes no one would congratulate them. If anything they only attracted people's wrath. Not to mention all the people they used on their path towards their downfall. People they left broken, alone and manipulated. They convinced them that they held no importance.

Also for clarification, because you might be confused: i am not against abandoning those who have HURT you. Those who have caused you severe pain and shown you no love or scarce. That's self defence most of the time. I am against abandoning friends and loved ones when things get slightly hard or for selfish reasons. Y'know, like those husbands who leave their wives when they get cancer? That kind of thing.

Lastly, you said you feel no guilt for hurting people. Then why the fuck do you come back apologizing for insulting my intelligence? You said you don't give a fuck, so stick to it.

For Antares, why is Blake's mom using a different name?

I finally have the time to answer this, so first of all, hope you're enjoying Antares, I'm currently in a writing haze for it to make up for lost time from my uni semester. There will be more!

And to answer your question, the easy answer is that I've changed Blake's mom to basically be a different character with a different allusion. Ghira Belladonna has graciously handed his 'Bagheera' allusion to his wife, and has now taken on the allusion of Tybalt, Prince of Cats, from the tales of Reynard the Fox (famously referenced as a moniker for Tybalt in Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet).

Blake's mom in Antares, Mrs. Rajani Belladonna, fills a much different role to in the show, as Blake's storyline has changed in a few key ways as well.

The other answer, and what inspired the name change in, is because of an illuminating conversation with my friends where I found out that Kali, and similar words, while a Hindu goddess of destruction, is also a slur when referring to people, especially based on skin colour. And if you don't believe me, it's on wikipedia's list of slurs.

So, that's my reasoning for changing Blake's mom's name to Rajani, as it takes out the Actual Slur and also, since Rajani is an entirely different character pretty much compared to Show!Kali, I feel like it's a good differentation.

There are a lot of issues here that I'm sure have been talked to death but I'm going to lay out my two cents anyway.

1. People are right, why tf is Sumeru a conglomeration of cultures rather than taking inspiration from one country or group specifically, like the rest of the regions we have so far? Grouping the entire Middle East with the entirety of Southeast Asia for some... mishmash aesthetic looks dumb and is just really doing a disservice to every culture you're trying to take inspiration from. It would've been much better to pick a specific area and stick with that.

2. I'd ask why Genshin designers are afraid of making characters with dark skin, but I know the answer is because dark skinned characters don't make money in their view. Genshin Impact is first and foremost a waifu/husbando simulator and unfortunately, colorism is rampant not only across the main CN and JP markets, but the rest of the world too. Pale skin is seen as a very desirable trait while anything darker than a light tan is not. Hence, it is safer for Hoyoverse to make light skinned characters because they know that's what the beauty standard is. Obviously this sucks major ass and is not right at all, but since when have companies really cared about anything other than profit? Especially gacha games, who are designed to suck the most money out of you as possible?

3. Everyone doing redesigns of the current Sumeru characters are doing the Lord's work. It is clear to me and hopefully anyone else with eyes that a lot of these characters would look much better if they had darker skin and outfits that weren't just... vague amalgamations of... some kind of culture. Looking at the leaked designs, it is really hard to tell what real world cultural designs and motifs most of them are supposed to be referencing. (Again, see point 1). And for some, like Dori, they're just straight up stereotypes, which is arguably worse.

4. AFAIK, there are more dark skinned characters in the works, and hopefully that balances the Sumeru cast out more, but that still doesn't excuse all of this nonsense. I'm really worried about the trend this is setting... Natlan is supposed to be based off of Mesoamerica, but with the way things are going with Sumeru, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with even more light skinned people instead of dark skinned ones. I also don't really trust Hoyo to handle Natlan with any kind of tact; having a region based on Central America be themed after violence and war is already playing pretty dangerously into stereotype territory. My expectations are already 6 feet under and I'm sure I'll still be disappointed.

5. I'll be honest, I have no idea what to do about any of this. Obviously the players are right to be mad and should voice their concerns to the rest of the playerbase and Hoyoverse themselves, but I think we're all aware at this point that Hoyo doesn't give a damn about the surveys and replies to emails with just bot answers. It seems highly unlikely to me that they will do anything about this, unless they feel like they're going to lose a significant amount of money because of it. I mean, they caved when everyone got on them about the anniversary rewards, and arguably this is much more important than that! But really, who knows. I guess just make your opinion known to Hoyoverse and if push comes to shove be ready to pack up and leave unless the criticism is acknowledged. You have to be serious about not giving them any money, or else they won't listen. They have to know it is more profitable to listen and respond to criticism than it is to ignore it and be ignorant.

I think that about covers my opinion on all of this. Remember to think critically about what you see and hear, and to do your own research before coming up with answers to your questions. I, and no one else in the tag, or on Twitter or Reddit or anywhere else, is a 100% expert on any of these issues, and it behooves you as a consumer to gather information from all sides of an issue before coming to a conclusion.

I saw one of your tags that you're reading the night circus and I am literally so stoked for you, thats one of my favorite books!! How do you like it?

Sorry for taking a long time to answer this!

The upshot is that I loved the first half, and then it fell apart for me in the second. At the time I got your ask, I was right at the part where it was transitioning from the first to the second, and so I wanted to finish the book before I gave my opinion and then it took longer than I expected.

Here's what I liked!

The book was very Aesthetic. The descriptions were wonderful, and it hit all the senses. The Circus was wonderful and magical and I fell in love with it in the same way the people in the book did. That's very hard to do, and often this kind of writing comes off as far too twee to me, but I thought it was well done here.

I liked a lot of the themes of the book-- the telling of stories, of creating things with your whole heart, of coming to know someone through the things they make, of the collaborative roles of creator and consumer. Many books about magic or special powers tend to separate out the talented from the mundane, but I liked they way so many of the non-magical characters contributed to the circus and to the story.

I very much enjoyed the narrative style, the prose was lovely and poetic and just plain fun to read.

It had a lot of great use of recurring objects and symbolism and I enjoyed that a lot

The things I did not like about the novel are, for the most part, personal preferences. I'm actually kinda mad because to me, it was so close to a book I could have loved, but in fact, I had trouble finishing it. I will put my negatives under a cut, both because they are slightly spoiler-y and because whenever I say mean things, I like to make them skippable. I would not argue with anyone who loved the novel all the way through, it was a lovely book that just had a few fatal flaws for me.

The biggest problem for me was that the Contest itself, which is the lynchpin of the entire book, felt completely arbitrary. The book keeps the entire magic system pretty vague, which was fine with me, but there were no rules to anything up until they got to "you have to kill each other, you can't escape the Contest, there is no way out," which, to me, read as "It's this was because The Author Said So," and it kicked me right out of caring. It felt like the characters didn't have any agency, which is just a huge turn-off.

I hate when side characters suffer/are killed off for the sake of advancing the main characters' narrative. I loved the aspects of the book that emphasized that the magic of the circus was a combination of actual magic and theatrics and clockwork and that the circus was all of its community, not just the two magicians at its center. I did not like the character deaths, especially the second one, and I also felt like many of the characters (Isobel and Chandresh in particular) got done very dirty in a way that weakened the book immensely for me.

The character writing simply wasn't very strong. The two mains were fairly stoic and studious, which is a character type that I love, but it's hard to pull off well without making them flat and well...they were flat. The two older magicians were actual monsters, but the book could barely manage to paint them as villains (and the book basically had...no negative consequences for them in the end?? Which was very unsatisfying!) Tsukiko was supposed to be mysterious, but her actions just felt very arbitrary.

I liked the idea of the ending, of passing torches and sharing the love of the circus, but I didn't think it was executed very well. The book tried to make Bailey both The Fated One and Perfectly Ordinary, and it just didn't stick the landing for me, but as I noted, I had already significantly pulled away from the book at this point, so maybe that was part of it.

We all know I love hauntings, and I did love that aspect of the ending, so at least there was that.

"Will you stop?" Maddie snaps, slapping Jared's hand away from her ear as they walk up the stairs to her trailer

"Nope" he says, sticking his finger back in her ear as he follows her inside

"God, you're a pain" she says, jerking her head away

"You love me" he tells her, sitting on the giant beanbag in the corner and getting his phone out of his pocket

"That's debatable" she teases as she sits on the couch and crosses her legs before she pulls the coffee table towards her. She lets out a small groan as she opens her laptop and sees the amount of unread emails she has to go through.

She's been putting it off for over a week, she hates emails with a passion but her manager messaged her this morning and told her she needs to get them done so unfortunately this is how she's going to be spending her break.

Silently cheering over the excuse to avoid dealing with her emails she hits the answer button and a few seconds later her brothers face appears on the screen. She sees his soul leave his body for a second when he sees her. Her face covered in cuts, bruises and blood, all fake of course.

To be fair, most of the emails get forwarded to various people on her team but it's still something that she has to do.

She's just about to start the mind numbing process when she gets an unexpected Skype call from Matt.

"I'm OK" she laughs, realising his panic

"Fuck Mads, you gotta warn me about shit like this" he says as he closes his eyes and takes a breath to calm down

"Well, I didn't even know you were gonna call so it's on you"

"Right. Fair point... in my defence we've only just come out of no contact in the last halfa"

"You could have messaged"

"And miss seeing your ugly mug?"

"Fuck off"

Matt laughs at her for a moment before a serious look appears on his face. He's worried about her, for good reason.

"How you doing?" he asks, hating that he hasn't had a chance to check in with her for over a month

"I'm OK" she tells him. It's true, she's OK... as OK as she can be given everything going on.

"I read the article"

"So did millions of others"

"Maddie"

"Sorry, I'm just... I'm so fucking angry Matt"

"I don't blame you. When I read it...my guys steered clear of me for a few days, thought I was gonna bite their heads off"

"You are pretty scary when you're angry Matt"

"How did the info even get out?"

"Travis"

"Nope. His idiot lawyer used his personal email, they traced it back to him"

"Is there anything you can do... legal wise?"

"Not really... John's trying to get additional charges over it but I can't do anything. Like I can't sue, not that i'd get anything out of him anyway"

"Well everyone on board is furious. You know how much they love you. You have an entire ship full of men ready to kick his ass"

Her attention is pulled away from Matt when her phone goes off. She puts it on silent before quickly checking it

She can't help but smile, she's never known anyone like Chris. He gives her butterflies, the good kind, just from his messages. Their weekend together had been amazing, even with her panic attack and the naked incident.

"What was that?" Matt asks. He saw the change in her body language when she read the message

"What was what?" she says, shifting her focus back to the laptop screen

"I know that smile Pip... is there something you need to tell me?"

"No"

"Really?"

"Nope"

From the corner of her trailer Jared lets out a short laugh, making her jump. She's completely forgotten he was there.

She glares daggers at him, partly because he scared her but mostly because she knows now Matt isn't going to let up until he gets it out of her

"Fucks sake Jared" she mumbles under her breath

"Don't mouth off at him, he's not the one keeping secrets" Matt scolds, using the authoritative voice she hates

"I'm a grown woman Matt, I don't have to tell you anything"

"Maddison Grace"

"I am not telling you Matt"

"I'll get on a plane right now"

"HA, you can't, you're in the middle of the ocean"

"I can call Mum"

"Good luck with that, she's not talking to me"

"What, why?"

"Because I didn't have, and I quote 'enough respect to tell her the whole story'"

Maddie lets out a long sigh and runs her hands through her hair. As much as she loves her mum, the woman seems to be doing everything she can to frustrate her at the moment.

"Pip... can you please tell me what's going on with you?" Matt asks, drawing to conversation back to her reaction to Chris' message.

"I'm seeing someone" she mumbles under her breath

"What?" he says making her sigh and shake her head. She knows he heard her, he just wants her to say it again because his mission in life is to be a pain in her ass.

"I'm seeing someone" she repeats, very clearly this time

"Really?" he asks with a smile, raising his brows a little

"Yeah" she says, biting her bottom lip as she nods

"Who?"

"Nope, not happening"

"Maddison"

"I'm fucking serious, I'm not telling you... not yet"

"OK... where did you meet?"

"On set"

"Is it someone I've heard of?"

"Oh, you've heard of him"

"You're really not gonna tell me who it is?"

"Nope"

Jared snorts at this. Maddie is an extremely stubborn person who will fight you on just about anything if she's given the chance.

She lets growl and throws an empty water bottle at him before pointing to the door of her trailer, giving him a death glare as he leaves.

"They know who it is don't they?"

"Yeah"

"I see how it is. Your fake brothers know before your actual brother"

"Matt that's not fair"

"I know, I'm sorry. Have they met him?"

"Jensen has, briefly and Seb knows him. They're friends, he introduced us"

"Like as a date thing or..."

"No, just as friends. When we met I wanted nothing to do with another relationship for a really long time but..."

"Something changed"

"A lot changed"

"Do Mum and Dad know?"

"NO... and you're not going to tell them either"

"Why's that?"

"I'm sorry" Jared says as soon as she gets down the steps. She just glares at him and walks away, almost walking right into Jensen.

She closes her laptop and pushes the coffee table forward before she gets up, letting out a groan and stretching before leaving her trailer.

"Woah, you OK?" he asks seeing the look on her face

"I'm gonna kill Jared" she says with low growl

"What did he do now?" he asks. Jared was always finding ways to annoy people on set. There's been more than one occasion that Jensen or Misha has had to act as mediator between Jared and Maddie when he's pissed her off.

"Ask him" she says, motioning to Jared behind her before waking off to go ask the stunt team something about her upcoming fight scene

"What the hell did you do?" Jensen asks Jared, knowing he's pissed Maddie off.

"I um, I kinda outed her to Matt about Chris" Jared admits, rubbing the back of his neck

"JARED!"

"I didn't mean to"

"She is going to strangle you one day"

"And we're probably going to let her"

Might be a heavy question: I'm someone who ships Merceleth (Mercedes x Byleth) and I find that there are people out there who go out of their way to bully those who ship Byleth with the students even after the timeskip citing power dynamic difference and saying that those who support such ships endorse problematic stuff and I'd be lying if I said that stuff really makes me mad and want to support my ship harder if only to stick it to them. What should I do to ignore them?

honestly? block them. tumblr doesn't have a mute function so that's what you gotta do if you really want to ignore them. you know why your ship isn't problematic, and you don't need that kind of negativity. i kinda wish people who didn't like ships simply said 'i don't like this ship' instead of going on rants about how it's problematic. it's rude. you can have reasons for not liking it, that makes sense. but don't go calling everything problematic.

are there ships i find problematic? yeah. are there ships that I personally think would never work or are toxic? definitely. but you know what I do about those ships? I filter them. I pretend they don't exist. no need to shame anyone who likes them. and i'm talking about some really popular ships, too. i simply filter them and ignore them instead of going on rants about why i think they're toxic. if you feel the urge to call a ship problematic on a public blog, first consider if 1. that is necessary and if for some reason it is, 2. DO NOT USE THE MAIN TAGS

i'm also a bit tired of the 'power dynamic' argument for byleth x (past) student ships. the arguments against byleth x (past) student ships are very weak imo. it's a fictional game at the end of the day. let people have fun.

These people are from a different dimension for ffs why are they concerned with or are even aware of this very earth-specific shit? Do they teach earth classes at school over there?

I understand not wanting to have them be oblivious so Bloom wouldn't have to explain it to them, but it simply could be ✨omitted✨

Why is Ms. Dowling.. the headmistress.. teaching classes? Where are the other teachers?

We ended up with a trio of antagonists (I guess you could call them that?) by the end of the season anyway so why not give us the trix, why have the characters play double roles as friends of our protagonists and also the villains/bullies? They clearly wanted a delinquent trio, in which case they could've gender bent the trix if they wanted to keep all the unnecessary sexual tension.

It just feels like the production team was lazy, they didn't want to hire more actors, they didn't want to bother with making the world immersive or lived in or believable at best, they just didn't give enough of a fuck

They wanted to make this show and attatch Winx to it for.. what? Like did you even google the main plot points? The abridged version or sparknotes to get details on the very literal, basic characteristics of our main characters or their roles or the world they inhabit????

It lacks wonder and intrigue.. I mean Bloom moves to another dimension, a school for fairies and we don't see her marvel once at anything.. and that's because she might as well have been in Switzerland because she's in exactly the same environment she would've been in over there anyway.

They could've said Alfea was in Europe and I'd believe it because nothing about the setting makes it feel otherworldly. I'm sorry but I'm not impressed.

Why do the teachers and graduated specialists communicate via facetime ?? In the magic dimension. ??? Why do they text each other and those texts then appear on screen like .. oh look, like a bad netflix teen movie ????? HELLO ??? it's the way technology and magic could've blended in so seamless into the world THE WAY IT WAS ALREADY DONE/SHOWN. Are we supposed to believe that the specialists get paired up with fairies just as a normal occurence and that they have to 'trust each other' and not because the plot demands it suddenly half way through when all we've seen so far are the fairies doing normalish school and homework, and the specialists outside, being physical everyday all day. This was never even implied that they'd have to work together apart from when we see the faculty as youngins with Rosalind. But even then.. it's like well why are they even together lmao? Is this a special team formed from Rosalind’s protégées? Were they formed after graduating from Alfea or what is this?? Are they the ONLY team of specialist/fairies hunting every single burned one?? What?

Are we now supposed to buy that Musa is being switched to 'support' because that's where her strengths lie and not in combat?? Are we supposed to believe that these girls know hand to hand combat?? When was this established? We see Terra wrapping some baby vines around a dude and I'm sorry is that the practical application of her power? Is this what the fairies are supposed to do once they graduate? Or is it just a switch in curriculum because of the threats outside the barrier?? This is never made clear.

Because if not then what's the point of this?? Why do they suddenly have endless classes together when the expectation was never set for the fairies to be like soldiers or out in the field fighting ?

Where exactly are they supposed to be what was the purpose of including Aster Dell and why is it a joy ride away from Alfea lmao?? Where Bloom is from and also not from?? Plot pls make it make sense

The way Aisha's abilities flipflop between episodes and scenes. Very inconsistent. One minute she's struggling with a drop of water and the next she is moving an entire body of water for her bestie Bloom to fake transform because the plot demands it. Why even add in her struggles at all if you're just going to ignore it?

Why was Stella with them in that scene? She didn't do anything literally.. Aisha pulled the water and she did .. nothing.

Who the fuck is Rosalind? Why would they add her in,, to add nothing to story? The company of light was a thing, they could've plucked one of them hoes to be the antagonist. Why did the winx club need their own Delores Umbridge? Valtor was right there if you wanted an evil educator type character.

The camera work was so bland during the down beats, stagnant and fixed during a fairy party and erratic and ugly and disorienting during the fight scenes

I'm not getting over the fairy party because it was a good opportunity for the production and everyone else to show the differences between where Bloom was and where she is now but instead it just looks like a regular teen high school party?? This could have been set in Switzerland fr.

Everyone's just kind of standing?? You mean to tell me these people are from all different places in the magical dimension and their customs are all the same? They all throw parties like this ??

I guess the main question or takeaway I have is just.. who is this for? Because everyone, including the showrunners keep saying that it's for us, the fans of the original. But apart from the characters sharing some names, there are really no other similarities. So again, who was this supposed to appease or placate or satisfy? Because it sure as hell wasn't the winx club fans.

Overall, this feels very much like something I wrote and probably published on ff.net when I was 13 because I thought girls couldn't be taken seriously if they liked pink, and injected angst into everything that didn't need it and had no idea how to structure scenes or dialogue. It's just bad, objectively and N*tflix will keep making shit like this because apparently some people have bad taste??? Idk yol, be easy

"How'd you get into Madness Combat?" Short answer: Friday Night Funkin mod videos.

Long answer: Blame YouTube, honestly. Videos of "song except it keeps switching modpacks" led to me watching modweeks, and then of course that led to Tricky. After the Tricky mod became a whole ass week, I ended up watching some fan-reactions to it, which got my interest more than the probably-creepypasta clown did.

(and before anyone asks: YES i thought Tricky was some creepypasta nightmare creature, what was I supposed to think of the Funkin interpretation?? That version of Tricky reads as a lot more serious than the canon Tricky! MadCom Tricky is a little shit and a bastard and THAT'S the one I enjoy.)

...Which led to the Madness Combat wiki... and then an episode list... and then a video of "madcom but it's just tricky"... and then at least a week straight of just watching the series once a day...

Anyways, a bunch of videos had mentioned stuff about "Hank" and some old video series, and at this point I was dipping my toes into the Fandom Wiki enough to feel confident about using it, so I finally caved and went spelunking through Tricky's wiki article.

I think I'm funny but I'm not.

I don't know how to communicate with people. I don't even know how to do it in my mother language, I don't know what you are expecting from me. I'd love to talk to you if you want though, I just suck and I'll probably run out of things to tell after 2 minutes of chatting.

I vent sometimes, but just trivial things. I think I do not have any TW to put like, in the general blog. If it is one, I'll put it on the specific post.

I get obsessed over a specific series, anime or book and I stick with it for months. In that time, I can't watch any other series or anime that isn't the one that I'm obsessed with at the moment. Right now I'm on my JJBA obsession.

Also, I've just watched the anime parts. I would start reading the manga, but I'm waiting for the Stone Ocean anime release. I don't know if I could wait til then though.

My personality type is INTP in MBTI and 5w4 in Enneagram. I was True Neutral in Alignment but I did the test on January. I have to do the tests again. By the way I know this tests aren't 100% accurate but it's the unstoppable need to try to know myself that keeps me inspiring me to do them on repeat, don't mind me. Annnd because I'm too lazy to read all the personalities one by one.
