This made my day; writing and Spiderman in one, my eyes are blessed 😌

One of my favourite lines in fiction at the moments is a line in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse:

However, the reason I love this line might be a bit different from what the creators intension was.

I often struggle with feelings of self doubt and feeling like I’m not doing things “the right way.” In the past I’d often follow tutorials and try to recreate what I saw PERFECTLY. I’m such a perfectionist and won’t like something unless it’s as good as I think OTHER people think it should be. I always chased other peoples validation and never really reflected if I liked my own work or not.

This is obviously a very toxic and unhealthy mindset, and this line taught me that I need to be happy with my work by my own terms. I shouldn’t seek the validation of others and focus instead on what I like and what I am proud of.

So yeah, if you feel the same as me and feel everyone is judging you and you need to reach a certain standard for other people, just remember.

Any tips on how to use artbreeder?? I'm definitely confused, and my characters look deformed-

UPDATE: No, I do not use AI for writing, but I've seen a lot of people (and writers) use Artbreeder for character development or like making notes about their characters, so I'm just asking if maybe someone uses it too, so I can get some advice.

Hey just a reminder that your creative project will never live up to the idea of it that lives in your head. That doesn’t mean it’s not good! It’s just that what you have in your head is a perfect ideal that doesn’t exist in real life. There’s going to be flaws in any creative project because we’re human.

This doesn’t mean to stop trying to strive for greatness. Rather, it’s about being more compassionate towards yourself when you see things in your art that you consider lacking. Just because it doesn’t match your ideal doesn’t mean it’s not good.

Also creatives tend to be realllyyyyyy hard on themselves which often gets in the way. If you notice yourself going down this road, take some time off from working on it and come back with a fresh set of eyes. I think when you do that you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you see.

For the ones who make you want to wrap them in a blanket and also scream “JUST TALK TO SOMEONE.”

Always looks like they didn’t sleep (because they didn’t)

Talks like they’re about to say something else, but never does

Constantly touches their sleeves/jewelry/lip, like if they’re not holding something, they’ll fall apart

Laughs too easily, but it never quite reaches their eyes

Over-apologizes for things no one noticed

Craves affection but flinches when they get it

Body language = trying to take up as little space as possible

Flashes of unexpected rage, like pressure finally cracking glass

Always says “I’m fine” in a tone that screams “Please ask again”

Cries alone, then wipes their face like it’s a secret

Feels safest in chaos because stillness feels like waiting for pain

Thinks being loved means being a burden

Cannot remember the last time they were truly, fully relaxed

Keeps people at arm’s length, but is the first to drop everything if someone else needs help
