“Should Tim quit being Robin and be Red Robin”
Well, no. Wait before you go listen!
Saying Tim should quit being Robin and grow up is just something stupid and the fact it’s a common take I heard so many times just throws me off.
1- Robin is not a practice mantle or mantle only for children.
(We’ll be cutting both of those into two parts starting with practice) Robin is not a mantle to grow out of. Robin is not a mantle for somebody to test their abilities. Robin is not Batman’s sidekick mantle anymore. If Robin is a practice mantle then Grayson should’ve became Nightwing way earlier. But again, he became Nightwing because he felt shadowed. Jason, there’s nothing much to say about Jason since he died young lmao loser.
If Robin a mantle for only children then Grayson would’ve been Nightwing way before he turned 19. Now Tim, if being Robin is a mantle for children then Tim would’ve quitted long time ago.
-2 Robin all what Tim wanted
Now, Tim is famously known for always saying “Batman need’s his Robin” and if he quits being Robin he’ll be missed. Missed a lot actual. Tim was the one to uplift this mantle and makes it HIS mantle. Tim being Robin is different from Jason being Robin. Tim was not born in tragedy but him becoming a hero made his life a tragedy.
3- what will Tim earn from being RR again?
Now I ask the question what will tim earn? Character development? He already did it with Robin mantle WHY. do we quit his character development to ONLY Red Robin. When in his run that’s over 100 issues he always got development and it can be seen and noticed.
4- why was he RR
Something we forget to ask why did Tim drake become Red Robin.? Well good thing I have an answer! He didn’t become Red Robin because he felt overlooked by being Batman’s side kick like Grayson. He didn’t become Red Robin because he died like Jason. He didn’t become Red Robin to prove that he should be Batman. He became Red Robin because he wanted to punish hisself. What is the need for him to become Red Robin again? Bruce is safe. He didn’t fail anyone. His life is going well.
5- is two robins an actual problem?
Well no! Actually in my opinion Batman having two robins is great. One works with teams and duos and other work in solos and duos.!
now.. we ask ourselves, do we actual need Tim to quit? No. Absolutely not. I don’t understand where we got that idea that Red Robin is tied to Tim’s character development. It’s outrageous and stupid. It’s just that Tim isn’t the main character anymore. And it’s great.. let’s give Tim a little break.. after almost 31 years of giving us Robin content and changing the mantle from Batman’s sidekick to its own mantle.. he deserves a little break. Let’s just sit back and relax a little and enjoy other characters and who knows. Maybe Tim not being the main character for sidekicks.. gives us a great opportunity for great characters.

What I hate the most about Dick Grayson/nightwing fans is there glaze to their favorite.
Like no, he does NOT hunt the Superman narrative. Case closed.

DISCLAIMER: everything that was written is by a big Nightwing fan. I do not hate him. I do not hate the idea that he’s important to the dc universe.
I will reply to comments that are on topic and respectful and do not disrespect any character

“Who’s the best Robin”-
A stupid debate that’s going around between Tim drake fans and Dick Grayson and some Damian fans.

And well.. my opinion is Tim.
I’m not saying Dick and Damian are bad robins. No they’re great robins and if I would rank them I would put them in my top 3. I picked Tim since he’s one of the most popular, loved, known, recognizable robins. And changed Robin from a sidekick mantle to what we know now. He had the most development as a Robin out of all 3. He added depth to his own stories. He also was the most unique one out of them. His story didn’t come from tragedy but came from a hero who wanted to save Batman.
I welcome any takes as long as they’re respectful and I will not respond to once that disrespect me. Tim, Dick, or Damain. Or any character.

The more time you interact with batfamily communities. The more you find the fanon problem wasn’t actual WFA. But the fans who read the comics. Some of yall dumb down your favorites to the point where it’s only likeable for you (Jason and Tim I’m looking at you). sometimes dumbing to the point where writers get influenced, pure example; Tom king’s Nightwing. I hate that comic so much. It felt pain reading it. Why’s Dick calling bruce ‘dad’. Why is Bruce suddenly good to Dick no, TOO good. It just weirds me out. Bruce and Dick relationship was never meant to be that healthy and should never be.
