hi y’all, i’m new to writeblr, and i just wanted to introduce myself and background:
my name is victoria, i’m 25 from a small country town the eastern US
i graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree in professional and creative writing, where i had an internship as a publicity and market research analyst and grammar editor with a small publishing house in oregon working on:
but beforehand, i studied nursing, specifically pathology, which led to biology: cytotechnology. i love the technical side of writing, which probably stemmed from my science background
procedures, manuals, research and analytics reports
but i’ve been an artist all my life
i’m a dancer, a gymnast, and a pianist, and i practice shotokan - the arts are my life
as for my writing, i’ve always considered myself a poet, a short story teller, and a closet philosopher and linguist
in october of 2022, SLAB literary magazine, published my short fiction “Hometown” in their 17th issue and i was awarded the boggs fiction prize - exciting stuff
currently, i work as a digital marketing specialist at a toolbox company, but i would love to work in editing and publishing
anyway
there are many ways i define myself, but a writer is who i am and who i believe i’m meant to be. what i’m looking for here is a community of writers, formally educated or not, to share ideas, accomplishments, advice, failures, and updates of their writing lives.
my inbox is always open to discuss any and all topics. interaction is encouraged, thanks for reading and welcoming! ☺︎︎
