Pride is not celebrating your borderline illegal kinks, or how many people you sleep with, or how many people you're in a relationship with. Pride should not be inclusive of everyone under the sun because then, who are we fighting for, who are we trying to liberate? We're so far removed from what pride was originally for that its extended to include straight men who want to get to know a woman with no strings attached. His low romantic drive is now considered 'queer'. He is on the same level of oppression as same sex attracted individuals

Forgive me for anything I got wrong and for the misunderstanding. Ultimately, it seems like this is just a disagreement over what constitutes (or should constitute) as the lgbtq community. And I will be editing my post to replace usage of queer, not to hide that I did it but rather because I used it in regards to someone who sees it as a degradation. Queer, while it has been reclaimed, still shouldn't be used by those who aren't ok with it. Again, I apologize for getting the facts wrong, the usage of queer, as well as the misunderstanding.

Furthermore, aro and ace people face the exact same hatred we do. People tell them stuff like, "I bet I can change you", "You just haven't met the right person", and "But everyone feels attraction". To be queer is to be a in a gender, sexual, or romantic minority. That includes the polyamorous people I can only assume you are disparaging, "or how many people you sleep with". And, if it's in regards to aro people, you're simply hypocritical for being bigoted towards another sexual minority. Imagine if someone boiled down your sexuality, as people often do, to being a horndog who only wants to get into people's pants. Not experiencing romantic attraction doesn't make someone promiscuous. Even if someone who is aro were sexually open, who cares? It's their individual life, and so long as all their partners know about any relevant information, then it harms no one and they are just as much part of this community as anyone else. This isn't even mentioning the fact that aromantism and asexuality is a spectrum; just as with anything else.

Happy Pride Month!

Remember: While this is a month to celebrate all that we are and have faced, it's important to remember what we fight for. As such, here's an atrocity we need to remember.

Alan Turing was an openly gay man in England back when it was illegal. Known as the father of modern computer science, he created the machine that cracked the code nazis used to encrypt their messages. However, because he was gay, the government decided to chemically castrate him. Falling into depression, he committed suicide by poisoning an apple and eating it.

Governments all around the world still murder people for being anything but cis and straight, and it's important to fight to end that.
