Three years ago, this was just a dream. Something small, something scrappy, something that kept me afloat during a hard time. Since then, AYR has grown into a home for original, heartfelt fiction, filled with passion, creativity, and community.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done. And I can't say thank you enough to everyone who has sent love and support my way. You're a part of what keeps me going, and keeps this indie art alive!

Fiction Podcast Love & Support

Hi friends,

I’m not great at asking for help, but here it is— one last honest, hopeful plea into the Tumblr ether.

As I begin my third year of fiction podcasting, I'm taking on a new challenge:

Building FIVE FICTION PODCASTS from the ground up.

Some of them you might know already— like Moonburn, our messy, heartfelt queer coming-of-age story. Or (Un)Likeminded, our Black Mirror–esque sci-fi short story anthology.

Some of them are brand new— like Haunted: The Van Buren Manor, The 50th First Date, and our Unt. Monsters Short Story Collection.

But what they all have in common is: they aren’t just projects. They’re the stories I’ve always wanted to tell. They’re community-built. They’re deeply personal. They're queer. They're character driven. And they’re made with so much love and care.

The thing is, I need a little help bringing them to life.

August Year Round is in the final week of our GoFundMe, and we’re only about halfway to our fundraising goal.

Freshman year is hard enough. Now imagine balancing classes, a social life… and becoming a monster.

Welcome to Part Five—the final chapter in our Meet the Projects series, where I walk you through what we’re building at August Year Round and how your support brings it all to life.

Today: UNT. MONSTERS SHORT STORY COLLECTION

This one’s my passion project. Inspired by shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it blends short story structure with audio drama storytelling— following four 90’s college freshmen in the town of Edgewood, WI, as they transform into a witch, a werewolf, a vampire, and a zombie… and form an uneasy alliance to battle the supernatural forces threatening their school, their town— maybe even the world.

It’s weird. It’s queer. It’s heartfelt.

A coming-of-age story about identity, friendship, and fighting monsters—both literal and not.

But even passion projects take real resources to make happen—and that’s why we need your help!

We’re raising funds to bring “MONSTERS” (and four other incredible fiction podcasts) to life this year.
