Passive Aggressive Guilt
Today has been a very frustrating day. I personally think that I’ve reached my threshold for dealing with toxic people. I mean when am I going to wake up and smell the flowers? All day longs its just rude people, saying rude things, for no more than a rude reason

I am Graduating.
Something wicked this way comes.
No. Not evil, green, jealous menace Wicked Witch of the West.
I am talking about the wickedly awesome event that has presented itself to me this morning.
It’s weird, to think about this day that I have waited for for 5 long years. I can’t help but look back at how far I’ve come – mostly because I’m terrified to look forward and witness the unknown future.
5 years…

Artificial Reproduction Policy Should Change.
Artificial Reproduction Policy Should Change.
Now, I don’t know where you are all from but I’m from Canada. The land of the people who are too nice and apologize too much (sorry! Oops… I mean… see?). In canada, government have passed the law of abortion, making it completely legal to have at any point during your first two trimesters of pregnancy. That’s right. Canada, as a country, is pro-choice. Frankly, I am ok with this. Why? Because I…

Groovin’ Again
My my. Has it ever been so long.
Can’t believe your eyes? Well you better.
I know. It’s been months since I’ve come online, to wordpress, to my beautiful (wow bias much?) blog.
I can’t say I’ve really “needed” this time off because that just is not true. I’ll be honest with you, I’ve just been super duper lazy.
I called it: My Summer Slump.
For practically the entire summer, I have been in a rut…

Well, it seems these two travel junkies had arrived at their final day in beautiful Costa Rica. Let me tell you, and you heard it here first, we made the most of our last day here.
We began with a bright and early morning out to town. Stopped by every single shop that we possibly could. Tourist shops, local shops, surf shops, beauty shops. Are you picking up what I’m putting down? Did we hit the beach? No. Should we have? Maybe. But in all honesty, we have exhausted our beach time the five days that we were in Samara so no regrets here.
Before we hit the shopping portion of our day, which also happens to be the portion of the day where we destroyed our credit cards (just kidding, mom), we had a delicious breakfast at a local place called Waffle Monkey. I ordered a chocoholic waffle while my friend ordered the applie pie waffle. They were delicious. Not too crunchy, but not overly soft and mushy. The chocolate sauce was to die for, sprinkled with some icing sugar was like the cherry on top of the sundae.
Then we hit the shopping district. One shop after another, we were like a swarm of bugs. We came, we saw, we conquered, and we did some damage. I bought my parents some souvenirs, of course. My mom is a huge coffee drinker. We have more coffee cups than we have plates, cutlery, and regular drinking glasses. We don’t even know what to do at this point with the amount of coffee cups we have. So what did I get her? A coffee cup (hehe). My dad on the other hand, not so much a coffee drinker, is a knife collector. I mean, he orders knives from Japan for every kind of cut he could possibly need. So of course, I got him a knife. Only it won’t be doing much cutting since its made entirely out of wood. Including the “blade.” The last person I bought gifts for was, of course, my boo (a post on my love life updates will be coming shortly). I got him a little miniature ceramic bird that is also some sort of instrument? (Don’t quote me on that) You blow on it and it makes bird noises, that’s all I know. I did also by myself some goodies, for instance two very pretty summer dresses that, not to toot my own horn, look quite fantastic on me.
Eventually, the heat was getting to my friend and I so we went back to our hotel and took a few hours to relax in the pool, soak up the last bit of Costa Rican sun, and just chill.
At around 4o’clock we got hungry and decided to go back into town for some lunch. Throughout our shopping adventures, we stumbled across an Argentine restaurant. And since this bear was born and raised over in Argentina, we couldn’t resist. I ordered a beef empanada to start, a milanesa for the main course, and my friend and I shred capaletti for dessert (don’t ask, I dont know). Delicioso. But, and all due respect to my country, it ain’t like momma makes at home.
On our way back towards the hotel, we stopped in all the shops along the way, but with our wallets empty, we did what Fergie had told us to do many years ago. You can look but you can’t touch, if you touch it I’m gunna start some drama. I don’t want no drama.
We eventually made it back to the hotel where we sat on our couch and watched a movie on Netflix.
All in all, it was a damn good vacation.
Last Day in Paradise Well, it seems these two travel junkies had arrived at their final day in beautiful Costa Rica.

Let me be honest here, not everyday on vacation is some extraordinary adventure that you can write pages about. Sometimes, days are slow, relaxing, and easy going. Those were the last three days for my friend and I. Let’s recap, shall we?
Day Four
We started up our day quite easy. We slept in (like I said, easy). We decided to start our day off in the pool and eventually head towards the beach. The pool was refreshing. Costa Rica gets incredibly hot and frankly, the ocean doesn’t help since its practically as warm as the air outside. The pool was nice a cool and did a fantastic job at getting our core body temperature down a few couple degrees.
When we finally headed out into town, it was right around the time the Portugal vs. Spain game was on. Eating typical Costa Rican food was also in my mind, so killing two birds with one stone, my friend and I went to a little local restaurant, ordered food, and watched the game. Wicked game, even more amazing food. I was recommended the casado echo con pescado. I don’t know what casado is but pescado is fish. Specifically, the Dorado. It was delicious and I don’t even like fish too much (I prefer real meat).
Eventually, after finishing the food and the soccer match, we went towards the beach, sat down, and soaked up all the sun we could.
After a few hours at the beach, the sun was saying its last goodbye’s for the day so we went on home. However, on the way we stopped by this tiny little restaurant called Taco A Taco. We couldn’t resist. We had a taco. It was a crispy tortilla filled with exceptional meat, topped with some cole slaw. Delicious.
Day Five
Very important day here. June 16th. It’s 6:45am and I’m up. You may be thinking: You’re on vacation, why the **** aren’t you sleeping in? Let’s get one thing straight here, it’s the goddamn World Cup and my team is playing at 7am Costa Rica time. So what do I do? Get up at 6:45am Costa Rica time, make myself a nesquick and get ready for the bloody game. Why? Because Argentina is playing and this bear has got to support her boys.
Only one problem. We tied. I don’t want to talk about it.
Moving on, another easy going day. After the game, we hit the beach one last time because the following day we were headed to another spot of Costa Rica: Tamagringo.
Sorry, wait. That’s not right.
Tamarindo.
Day Six
Another day waking up at the crack of dawn, if you consider crack of dawn being 7am (which I do). The shuttle taking us to Tamarindo arrived at 8:20, and it had wifi. What public transportation in Canada has wifi? Common Trudeau, if you can remove the gender symbol on people’s health cards, surely you could put wifi on public buses. But that’s none of my business.
Of course I streamed the Germany vs. Mexico game, what you think I’m some kind of savage? and Of course there was a family of Germans sitting next to and behind me while I streamed the game. So of course they watched the stream with me. Little did they know I hated their team for stealing the cup from us only a few years back.
But hey, I didn’t come to Costa Rica to make enemies.
Two hours later we arrived at our beautiful hotel in Tamarindo. Compared to the place we stayed at in Samara, this place was huge. For one, it had two beds. It also has a second floor. However, one cannot be compared with another, they each have their own charm.
My friend and I were excited to check out the town since it is widely held that this town is very touristic. Well, no sh*t Sherlock, right off the bat there was Americans everywhere. Swarms of them, like pesky mosquitos scouting out the ripest artery to eat from.
First we stopped at a very beautiful, tiny little cafe called Cafe Tico where we had breakfast. Then we made our way into the shops. You could tell it was tourist central since everything was 10x more expensive, and they charged you in American dollar rather than in the local currency of Colon. We checked out the beach but didn’t stay very long in the town since we were tired from the early get up and long drive out here in the first place. We went back to our hotel, put on the Brazil vs. Switzerland game and fell asleep watching it. What can I say, I don’t like Brazil and Switzerland is a team I would have never watched to begin with (nothing against the actual countries, this is strictly soccer rivalries).
After an hour and a half nap, we went swimming at the hotels pool for a few hours before we finally turned in. We made some dinner and put on a TV show.
All was calm. Until it wasn’t.
My friend gets up to use the bathroom and I hear a scream. She runs out, another scream. It was mayhem. There was a millipede the size of my middle finger on the bathroom floor. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, there was a full fledged, size of my palm, adult crab booking its way past us on the kitchen floor. There was chaos. We immediately grabbed out suitcases, bags, any food we could get our hands on and fled to shelter on the second floor of our apartment.
We sleep to forget.
Soccer and the Beach Let me be honest here, not everyday on vacation is some extraordinary adventure that you can write pages about.

Another beautiful day in Costa Rica. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing a perfect little cooling breeze, and the mosquitos were nowhere to be seen. We woke up at an early 9am to give our day a head start. We knew we wanted to go to the beach but had an excursion planned for 1:30m, and since it gets cloudy at about 3pm, we had to go in the morning. We packed our bags, this time packing towels and a matt to sit on, and made our way into the town and towards the beach.
This time, since we were up so early, we were able to snag a few beach chairs and an umbrella. It was great actually, since it came in handy for when we ordered food.
At the same place we ate yesterday, Luv Burger, we ordered another delicious and everything-free breakfast. Pancakes with a double serving of bananas topped with some nuts. It was fantastic. After a few hours of resting on the beach, and checking in on the Russia v. Saudi Arabia soccer match (I’m a super soccer junkie, by the way), we made our way back to the villa for a dip in the cooler pool before our excursion.
So. Refreshing.
At 1:15, we were picked up for our excursion. Travelling through Samara, and Carillo, we ended up at a beautiful town called Estrada. Our adventures started off with a hike up a tiny revine towards a waterfall. The first weird part about the adventure was the fact that we had to climb under a barbed wired fence just to make up to the waterfall. Odd you may say? No kidding. Eventually, after stopping to hunt for shrimp every now and then, we made it to the waterfall. Wow was it ever a sight. I mean sure, it doesn’t compare to Niagara Falls or the Iguazú Falls of Argentina (which puts Niagara Falls to shame), but it was still incredibly beautiful. It was beautifully surrounded by lushes forest and came down to a gorgeous little pond that we were able to take a dip in. The water was refreshing, cool, and all around just wonderful. We swam for a good 20 minutes before heading back to where we came from.
The second part of the excursion was kayaking. I love kayaking. We were dropped off at a river, boarded our kayaks, and went down stream with the final destination being a beautiful beach. A long the way we went through a few rapids, almost tipped over, and also got to admire the beautiful wildlife. Although we didn’t see any monkeys, we did see some of Costa Rica’s beautiful birds (my mom would have loved it). As we were approaching the beach, only 20 minutes from it actually, Mother Nature did her thing. And by that I mean, it started raining. The rain started off soft, which was nice because it was actually getting kind of hot. But eventually, chicken little, the sky fell. It started pouring.
The Sky is Falling! Another beautiful day in Costa Rica. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing a perfect little cooling breeze, and the mosquitos were nowhere to be seen.
